Ruined Rural Economy Of India - Neglected Preferences Part 6

“Real strength of a Nation lies in the hearts of farmer’s who spend
sleepless nights all the life while tilling and watering their fields
thus dedicating their lives for cause of feeding nations”

I extend my sincere gratitude to the Ezine esteem readers for the valuable time in analyzing various facets of Ruined Rural Economy of India (RREI) in last three years. How deliberately the present government’s think tanks had successfully destroyed country’s rural economy is of great concern.

After Uttrakhand and Punjab assemblies election results were declared, it seems that the Government of India ruling elite clan has become wise. While the Prime Minster (PM) is issuing statements in sharing the agony of a common man day and night on one side, the Finance Minister (FM) is beating around the bushes of industrial upsurge. The 6.1% rise in recorded inflation further speak about the sincerity of the government in tackling the problem of a common man at all. Not to be left behind our Agricultural Minister has also ultimately issued a press release thanking Indian farmers for bumper wheat crop in the country. It is a matter of great indignity for India that despite India being a farmer’s predominant country she is suffering from food mania. Large numbers of Indian are still sleeping half filled and half hungry tummy.

Today, I am going to debate as to how to rejuvenate and revitalize Indian rural sector on the one side; and why should government impose so many taxes over taxes on the other. I would ask one simple question from India’s FM as to why be Indian paying service tax, education cess, medical tax etc? Aren’t these services are being created from the tax payers contribution only? Isn’t GOI is creating all assets and paying employees salaries from our directly paid taxes? Isn’t it tantamount to plundering of own citizens?

First of all, I will discuss as to how to revive our RRE. The biggest mistake of the present stratocracy is to give preference of industrial house over farmers. While the heavy losses of crops due to rain, flood, famine or other natural calamities have become cause of farmer’s committing suicide, the losses of industrialist houses were shower with abundant concessions and shown the path of recuperating from bankruptcy. GOI and various state governments did not show any sympathy in pardoning dying farmer’s loans, these governments have waived hundred of rupees debts of many industrial houses or extended large loans on subsidies rate. Infact, the present leadership thinks, speaks, reads, writes and put into effects the economic script of Western nations which had very tactfully secured their farming sectors first and later expanded industrial prosperity.

The model of bankruptcy oversight of Russia countries after disintegrations and the world trade environment wild geese chase is going to be repeated in India as well. I am certain that if present trend of economic subjugation continued for another few years, the days are not far off when India would be if not physical but an economic slave. Our Frog Perception Outlook (FPO) and Pigeon Approach (PA) are likely to destabilize India very badly. What I mean with both these terms is that the FPO indicates about the limited vision of our planners like a frog of a well; and PA means despite knowing well that things are going wrong, our leaders continue to harbor the myth of growing India. In real term I mean with the PA is that despite knowing well that our farming sector is being ruined, our leaders are taking no preventive measures to prevent further deterioration of farming sector like a pigeon. It is equal to a pigeon who on seeing an approaching cat, rather than flying away, closes his eyes and tucks in his neck further thinking that he is not seeing the cat, therefore, cat would also not see him. Pigeon in turn gets killed.

I suggest that there is still time to revive our farming sector. Infact I was shocked to read in one the daily that our Fertilizer Industry is suffering huge losses due to subsidizing approach of the GOI. Surprising to hear, do you agree? How can there be losses when all the ingredients to manufacture fertilizers are the cheapest in the world in India. The skill and unskilled labor work force, electricity, water, transportation, raw material and what not are the cheapest in the world; than how our industry is suffering losses just because of fertilizers manufacturing machinery is imported? It is all rubbish but nothing else. The gimmicks of Indian Railways of showing losses, years after years, are the same old Indian style of plundering her own citizens. I promise Indian that if Railway is handed over to me, I would make it a golden train of the world provided power to sue corrupt people is vested.

Agro workers will agree with me that while the fertilizers are essentials to increase production but these are also causing severe loss of land fertility as well. I, therefore, suggest that Indian farmers should resuscitate and use Indian centuries old time tested method of making manure by decomposing agro wastes such as cow dung, leaves and waste grass. There is a need to make all out efforts in introducing making manure from agricultural wastes. All villagers should be provided ample individual space to dig Agricultural Waste Decompose Pits (AWDP) to make their own manure. Such pits not only enhance the land fertility but also provide additional Alternate Source of Renewable Energy (ASRE) in the form of cooking and light gas.

The technique of making pits is simple. Every farmer should dig, depending about the quantum of agro waste produces, a minimum of six to ten feet deep circular pit of six to fifteen feet diameter. He continues to dump all his waste in the pit. When pit is nearly half filled with waste, now fill nearly one third water in the pit and then cover it with nearly six inches thick layer of earth to compress and make waste decomposition air tight. Leave the pit for two to three days to dry. After three days now gain begin to fill the fit till top and repeat same process when pit is completely filled. Leave the waste to decompose for nearly four months. Indian farmers had prepared the best quality of manure. I have carried out a practical trail and found that every grown up tree sheds over thirty kilograms of leaves in a season and if we use these leaves to make manure rather burning at every nook and corners, Indian farmers could be supplied best manure free through out the country. Only the hawks have to be apprised of the advantages of the leaves.

Another suggestions increasing agro sector production are:

•One; provide free seeds to specialized seed producing units in each state;

•Two; supply free seeds to farmers below poverty line and at the 25% to 75% costs to other depending up on their financial strength in every season;

•Three; use planned schematic cultivation methods of land mass;

•Four; carryout shifting and rotating method of crops variety;

•Five; construct canals and water drains to irrigate with water every inch of worth cultivating land piece;

•Six; provide now fertilizers at no subsidized rates’ rather charge full production cost after taking into consideration the cheapest means in the country.

•Seven; encourage AWDP methodology of making local manures to sustain enhanced land fertility;

•Eight; create local market infrastructure with in the walking distance of a farmers working field areas;

•Nine; encourage setting up local industries making agro crop related finish products to reduced cost and increase prosperity. I mean follow the Som Kalpna Spiraling Rural Economy Cycle (SKSREC) model;

•Tenth; create market on the concept of Markets for the Farmers and not the Farmers for the Market (MOF & FOM).

•Eleventh; follow the Kalpna’s Everlasting Economic Loop (KEEL)

If even one percent of above suggestion are implements I am sure India would
progress on both ways. A clear lack of vision is evident in our planners mind. The bookish worms have really ruined rural economy of India. Let’s hope to revive and resuscitates lives of our farmers. I will join you with more suggestion in next articles.
