Why I Will Not Light A Candle For Peace

Recently, I have viewed many candle lighting ceremonies being performed. I did not participate in these ceremonious affairs largely due to the fact that I refuse to light a candle for peace. This is why. Lighting a candle for peace is showing your support for an Anti-War Movement. I do not support the anti-war movement, I support war. I support going to other countries to kill the enemy, and I support our nation doing what they need to do to keep us safe here within our home front. Does this entail murdering and maiming people? Yes it does, does this entail innocent people getting caught in the crossfire? Yes it does.

I know my stance is harsh, but it’s called reality. We can not live as a peaceful nation without war, hence why any Anti-War Movement is just ridiculous in my eyes. Do I not admire the fantasy of world peace? I do, but guess what? It’s never going to happen. I still to this day support the war, the troops and I still agree with going into Iraq. The popular thing to do as of recent is show the typical pictures of maimed Iraqi’s, and to drive your point home even more, make it pictures of Iraqi children, but do keep in mind, if our military did not fight the “unpopular” wars, those pictures could very well be our own American children.

Why has our nation not learned from what happened during the Vietnam Era? Did the peace movement make a difference then? No, it did not and it will not make a difference now largely due to the fact that nations worldwide will never join hands singing “Give peace a chance” while sipping Coca Cola. Our nation is free because our country engaged in what is called “wars”, they murdered, maimed and did not think twice about it, in other words, we did not become free due to lighting candles and we will not remain free lighting candles.

We will remain free due to the sacrifices of our men/women whom fight the “unpopular” wars, the realists within our country whom step up and give everything for all of us in the name of our country. This unfortunately entails murdering and possibly dying, in other words ….wars. This is why lighting a candle does absolutely nothing for me, and it means absolutely nothing to me, for I know that our country has to indulge into wars, whether it’s popular or not in order for all of us to enjoy the freedoms we have. Light a candle? No thank you, peace is a nice fantasy but I believe in the reality that peace is not the answer, kicking their butts from here to Timbuktu is the only answer and a candle will not aid in that process.

Friends - They Can Make You Or Break You

Your life is profoundly influenced by outside sources. The shows you watch, the things you listen to and the people you hang out with have a big impact. The people you associate can either make you or break you in life. You may not believe that it’s very important. However, the people that you are around the most are your biggest influence.

Most of us see a great number of people every day. It’s well known that in every social situation there are groups. Think about where you work. You tend to hang out with people that have common interests with you. However, it may not be that simple. When you are constantly around the same people, your level of success strongly coincides with their level. This is a phenomenon that is present throughout the world.

Even in the world of sports this happens quite frequently. The term “playing to the level of the competition” refers to how a team changes their style unconsciously. The better team will often play down to the level of the other team. The worst team will often play above themselves to match the competition. Not only does this happen in sports, but in everyday life.

Study after study has proven this true. Take an underachiever in any field and place him/her with a successful group of people. After a very short period of time that person will also be a success. On the other hand, if you take a successful person and surround him/her with underachievers and he/she will also underachieve. It is an amazing phenomenon but it works nevertheless.

What does this mean for you? Associate with the best people in your field. Quit hanging out with unsuccessful people even if they are your friends. Don’t totally disown them by any means…just don’t hang out as often. The more you are around successful people, the more successful you will become.

Search Engine Optimization 801- On-Page Optimization Techniques

On-page optimization techniques are quite simple and can be done with very little effort, even beginners can make this work! Basically the same applies here as it does with any use of search engine optimization, pay close attention to your keywords. Provide the key words sparingly but yet often enough to draw search engines in, this resulting in traffic.

For on-page optimization you will want to use content optimization by concentrating on the users and then rework it to fit the search engines. Search engines seek new content. Use that to your advantage. Keep your site updated as often as possible. This will generate the search engine to find you more often for the searches. As in any form of optimization make sure that your title tag is given special attention. Focus on the best, more descriptive title you can for your page.

It is better if every page of the website has its own title. Keep it short with 10-15 words, and keep it simple! Use the description tag of the META-Tag. Again give every page its own individual description and keep it to 20-30 words. Another technique to apply is the use of headlines and text decoration.

Keep the headlines easy to read for SEO. SEO will identify text decorations by keywords and phrases. The title should describe text links and images. If you use these simple on-page optimization techniques you will be found easier by the search engines, resulting then in visitors being able to locate you easier too!

Review Of Blogging Miracle

It has been a long time since a quality blogging guide was released and to be honest I find it difficult to believe that nobody has released a guide to incorporate all the new changes at blogger.com after it was bought by google. All the guides you will find at places like clickbank do not even contain any of the new features of blogger and so are seriously out of date.

Well that has changed with the release of blogging miracle and I fully expect there to be some more releases over the coming months as making money online with blogger is in my opinion still the easiest way to go especially for beginners. I am going to assume that you all know what blogging is but maybe what you do not know is how easy it is to earn money from blogging and although you may not make millions it certainly makes me a healthy income.

So to blogging miracle. This ebook has just been released by a little known internet marketer David Beasley who nevertheless has been making significant sums from adsense and affiliate marketing using just blogs both the free kind like blogger and the hosted variety like wordpress. This ebook sticks to the former although many of the chapters can be applied to any kind of blog, wordpress, joomla and of course blogspot.

The initial chapter discusses the concept of blogging, the benefits, how it works and some really illuminating insights into the future of blogging which actually got me thinking about how I was going to go forward with my own blogging empire! The next chapter discusses adsense and its application in connection with blogger. You probably will know much of what he discusses here although once again he has a couple of interesting ideas. If you are a complete beginner this chapter is very important.

The next few chapters are all about setting up and optimizing the new blogger and all its new features. He walks you through the entire process from start to finish including all the little tweaks that will vastly improve the performance of your blog. He also talks about the best way to post and pays particular attention to the new template options which opened my eyes, and I thought I knew what I was doing!
It is very important that you get these settings right or it can effect your blogs visibility both to humans and the search engine bots.

The remaining chapters (there are over 100 pages!) deal with seo subjects like where are the best places to submit your blog, working with other bloggers, as well as standard seo practices like article submission, press releases, keywords, meta tags etc. These topics are covered elsewhere but as this is a brand new release it has got the latest info and concepts. The last chapters were of particular interest to me as it discusses the newest blogging concept the vblog. Video is starting to dominate the internet marketing scene and blogging is no acception.

In conclusion I would suggest you take a look at this ebook whether you are an experienced blogger or a complete newbie who does not know the difference betwwen wordpress, joomla and blogger. It is a pretty big ebook by todays standards and does manage to avoid page filling fluff pretty well.

Sleep Apnea - Diagnosis & Treatments

In order to bring sleep apnea under control, first one must get the condition properly diagnosed and secondly be proactive in the treatment.

Loud snoring is oftentimes thought of as being indicative of sleep apnea, but this isn’t always the case. In some of the case snoring does accompany sleep apnea, but not all. If you suspect that you may be suffering from sleep apnea and you have a sleeping partner, engage your sleeping partner in help you to determine and help you make an initial diagnosis.

With the assistance of your partner, have them record the number of times there is a disruption in your breathing. Defining and recognizing this type of breathing interruption is a simple process because you’ll either stop breathing, or you’ll make gasping, choking or snorting sounds as you attempt to get your breath back. If you don’t have the opportunity of a sleeping partner, a simple recording device will enable you to review your night’s sleep.

Statistically, most of sleep apnea cases occur in men aged 40 and older and who are also overweight. If this fits your profile, and you know you’ve experienced sleep apnea symptoms, a consultation with your doctor should be in order. If suspected, your doctor can look for obstructions in the nose and mouth and examine your throat and nose using either an endoscope or an X-ray. Another possible, yet not often used tool is a CT scan of the neck and head.

In the event that these diagnostics prove inconclusive and more information be needed, a thorough diagnosis can easily be confirmed by spending a night in a sleep center. At the sleep center your sleeping pattern can be precisely monitored.

The CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is the most common treatment option for individuals diagnosed with sleep apnea. The machine a mask is attached to the machine that has a plastic tube measuring several feet in length. The mask itself fits over the nose and/or mouth and while asleep, a continuous supply of pressurized air is forced through the tube which helps keep the airway open.

In some instances there is also a surgical procedure that is used that can remove troublesome tissue from the nose, throat or mouth.

Sleep apnea is largely self treatable. The most effective type of self-treatment is weight loss. That’s right. Simply losing 10% of your body weight can make a dramatic difference.

If you are a smoker and/or a consumer of alcohol, you will also notice a difference if you stop smoking and cut back or stop the alcohol consumption. If you use sedatives, that too should be discontinued.

In addition to the above, you need to get yourself on a regular sleep schedule, one in which you can sleep during nighttime hours… and if you prefer sleeping on your back, it’s time to switch to sleeping on your side.

There’s a mouth piece you can also use to help with sleep apnea. It works by simply opening the airway and keeping the jaw and tongue properly aligned while sleeping.

As with any type of treatment, there are pro’s and con’s associated with each treatment for sleep apnea. Be sure to discuss with your doctor any and all possibilities and work with your doctor as you explore what works best for you.

European Champion’s League Match Day 8 - Soccer Giants Kicked Out–2

In another game worthy of attention, the under performing Bayern Munich FC team, which had slipped from first place to fifth in the German Bundesliga, overcame Europe’s most successful team, Real Madrid FC by two goals to one to edge them out of this season’s champion’s league tournament.

With Real leading by three goals to two from the first leg earlier played in Madrid, all they needed was a draw in order to qualify.

However, all their game plans were drastically altered when the Real team conceded an early goal in the tenth second of the match. The goal, which is the fastest goal in champion’s league history, came just after the match kicked off.
Real found it hard to come back into the game after that, and Bayern Munich later got their second goal in the second half. Although the Real team got a late goal via a penalty by Ruud van Nistelrooy, it was not enough to get the desired result as they exited from the competition on the away goals rule.

This early exit leaves Real Madrid with only one probable trophy in view-the league trophy. However, they are currently fourth on the table and are separated by four points from the leaders. It remains to be seen if the Real team has whatit takes to beat Barcelona FC and Sevilla FC to the title, or if this will be another season without a trophy for the team, their fourth without winning any silverware.

Arsenal FC of England could only manage a draw against PSV Eindhoven of Holland on their home ground. Having lost the first leg by a lone goal, Arsenal needed an outright win in order to qualify for the quarterfinals. They scored early in the second half, only to lose their lead with just few minutes left in the match.
The match ended in a draw, meaning that Arsenal lost out on a two to one goals aggregate score line.
For fans of Arsenal, seeing their side crash out of three competitions in just eleven days must have been a painful blow.
The club can only hope to qualify for Europe next season by placing third or fourth in the premiership.

Lyon, the dominant team in France, lost out too. They were beaten by Roma FC of Italy by two goals to nil. It was a shock result, given that the first leg ended in a draw in Rome. Given Lyon’s strength, everyone expected them to beat Roma easily. The result turned out to be a disaster for them in the end.

Inter Milan FC of Italy, the runaway league leaders in Serie A, were beaten by Valencia FC of Spain on the away goals rule. Having played a two all draw in the first leg at Milan, the two teams played out a goalless draw to ensure victory for Valencia. The match would however be remembered more for the ugly fighting scenes afterwards than the match itself.

Earlier in the season, many pundits had predicted that four teams out of Inter Milan, Lyon, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid would surely feature in the semi-finals of the championship.
Now, with these big teams out, it remains to be seen which of the teams left in the race will eventually lift the trophy in Athens in May.
It has become really difficult to predict a winner. Or would any one reading this want to try to predict a winner?

Standing in the Gap

Few men and women think of themselves as “leaders”. But individuals who have found and are fulfilling their life purpose are influencing the world around them. They are leaders whether they realize it or not. And once in awhile an individual faces a moment when they realize they must take a stand. They know they have a choice to make - They can continue moving along with the crowd, or step out, stand alone, and speak up for a cause. This person is standing in the gap.

Speaking up for a cause, attempting to right a wrong, preventing an injustice… We all have these opportunities, but how many actually stand with courage?

I remember taking a stand once in the 5th grade - and getting my nose broken in the attempt. A boy was crawling under the desks and tables of our classroom and looking up the skirts of the girls. I’m dating myself… girls had only just started wearing pants to school. Most of us were still in dresses. Anyway, I was offended and decided I had to put a stop to it! I walked over to the table where he was eying my friends’ panties and told him to “Knock it off!” He laughed at me and pushed me aside. I got in his face and without thinking said “Choose you out!” — This pudgy, bookish girl with glasses had asked the school bully to a fight! The whispers started in our classroom and spread like wildfire throughout the whole school. By 3 o’clock nearly every student from 1st to 6th grade was racing to the field creating a wide circle around me and my opponent, Nicky. I glanced at the faces in the crowd and saw my friends and even my little brother - someone much more experienced with fights after school than I was! My brother took my fist in his hand and warned me about breaking my thumb. Other kids shared suggestions about how to survive the battle, but I didn’t hear them. I looked across the field and saw Nicky coming toward me with his circle of friends. I was pumped up on adrenaline and had no thought of backing down. Just as I stepped forward to start the fight a final “helper” reached out and grabbed my glasses to keep them from getting broken. I didn’t even see Nicky’s first and only punch. It landed square on my nose.

Nicky may have won the fight - I never even touched him-but he lost the respect of the entire student body that day. He had hit an unprepared girl who was standing up for her friends. I became a hero, a righter of wrongs. The rest of the week I wore my black eye with pride and enjoyed the cheers of my peers as I shared how the doctor straightened my nose with a metal popsicle stick. Nicky never pestered the girls again. Funny thing about childhood battles– they tend to flare up and end quickly. Nicky and I ended up ‘going steady’ the next year.

My early experience with standing in the gap taught me several things:

· The decision to stand in the gap is often made with a moment’s notice. That decision is based on character. Who you are will dictate what you will stand for.

· Once the choice is made, there is no going back. It wasn’t just pride or adrenaline that made me stand up to Nicky. It was my sense of justice that propelled me onto the battlefield.

· It would be wise to prepare for such moments before they occur.

· Righteous leaders rarely stand alone. Even a pudgy, four-eyed eleven year old girl can be a hero and a leader.

· You don’t have to win the battle to end up victorious.

How are you being called to “stand in the gap”?

Search Engine Optimization 701- 5 Best Ways to Optimize Your Web Site

Search engine optimization is a large scale of advertising for sites on the internet. There are 5 simple ways to optimize your site for the results you are seeking.

Use one keyword per page. Do not stuff your page full of keywords. Be simple and use one specific word for each page. Doing this allows for more focus to be on that word in the page without distracting from the information on the page.

Use major keyword in the links back to your site. Search engines place large emphasis on words that are mentioned in the title tag of the links that point to your site. Make sure the keywords are used in your title tag.

Place keywords in the descirption tag. A well written description tag makes your website stand out from others and will provide more traffic to your site.

Insert keywords into your keywords tag. This sounds really simple, but overlooking it can make a difference in the traffic that comes to your site. The keywords tag has been placed on the lower emphasis of list in optimizing but I am bringing it back. The more ways you use your keywords the more traffic you will have coming.

Finally make the first 100 words on each page keyword rich. It is a common fact that search engines focus on the first 100 words of a website.

As you can see, the common factor in optimizing your web site and web pages are keywords. Use them often enough to draw the attention you need to accomplish the results you desire.

Canine Vocalizations - How To Speak And Understand “Doggish”

Canine Vocalizations;
Learning to Speak Dog.

Dogs rely mostly on body language to communicate with us and other animals,
but learning to identify your dog’s vocalizations is another useful tool to reach the level
of understanding that enables true freedom with our canine companions.
Dogs strive to learn basic components of our language and learning to understand their language
Is not only the conscientious thing to do, it helps us really understand what our dogs are trying to say.

The article before this covered canine body language, and this article on canine vocalizations
or “Doggish” as it’s sometimes called, should accompany that knowledge.
Dog behaviorist, Stanely Coren was first responsible for illuminating the subject of
Canine linguistics and anyone interested in truly mastering “Doggish” should purchase his
Book “How to Speak Dog”, which is considered the “bible” of dog behavior by many.

Let’s start with the most commonly misunderstood of canine vocalizations.

Growls:
Many people hear their dog growl and automatically assume that growls mean aggression.
This is not the case.
Dogs frequently growl or groan for other reasons than aggressive intent.
The growling sound associated with play or simply aimed at making a comment or expressing enjoyment
Is a “round” noisy growl originating from the throat as opposed to the chest that sounds like “Ruuuuuuuh or Rrrrrr”"
It is uttered through pursed lips and can be regarded as “this is interesting!”, “this is fun!”
or “I am here and I’m happily involved with the situation.”
This growl can be heard while your dog is playing or while people are conjugating.
Aggressive growls are either soft, rumbling and low pitched and originate from the chest
or start in a low pitched growl and end in a sharp bark.
These growls mean “back off! I am feeling defensive” and are accompanied by the appropriate
body posture. Higher pitched or undulating growls and defensive barks can be translated into fearfulness and indicate that the dog is frightened and preparing to protect himself. Growls that rise and fall or rise in tension accompanied by a fearful body posture mean
“I’m frightened and if you press me I may run but I may also fight!”.
It is important to learn the difference between the growly groan of a playful dog and the “grrrrrrrrr”
of a fearful or aggressive dog. To understand the body posture in conjunction with the sound is crucial.
A relaxed dog saying “rrrrrr” is different from the aggressive or fearful growl of a dog who is feeling threatened
and communicating her perception of a serious threat.
The more solid and unwavering a dog’s growl is, the more sure he is, and alternately,
The more the dogs voice changes pitch and wavers, the more unsure she is.

Barks:

Alarm Barks:
Rapid midrange pitch barks (3 or 4 barks with pauses between) are an alert bark, beckoning other pack members to get ready to rally.
Rapid midrange barking is a more persistent plea for the pack to rally. The first bark means “something may be happening!”
and the next one says “something probably happening! We may need to take action in a minute!”
The next bark is a continuous barking, slower and of a lower pitch. It means “there is definitely a problem here! Alert the pack!”
Some breeds are more inclined to alarm barking than other breeds. Many dogs considered to succeed or fail at watchdog (not guard dogs)
Ability are judged on their tendency to bark and how tolerant they are of intruders in their territory.

Loneliness Barking:
Long string of barks with pauses between each indicate loneliness and a plea for companionship.
It translates as “is anybody there? I’m lonely and need someone now!”
Howling can also be a loneliness behavior. See “Howling” below.

Attention Bark:
A single bark, sharp, short, mid to high pitch and sounding a little forced signifies a command issued by the dog!
This is a learned communication and often precedes a dog getting what he wants from his human master.
It can be translated into “listen! I want this!” while pointing at the door, a toy or standing by the treat jar.
It means “attention!”

Greeting Bark:
One or two sharp, short barks, midrange or high is a greeting bark.
It literally means “Hello! I see you’re here!”

Annoyance Bark:
A single, sharp, loud bark, low pitched is to express annoyance at being bothered, woken up, harassed or the like.
It means “Stop it! Get lost!”

Play Barks:
A stuttered bark that sounds something like “arrrrr ruff!” is usually emitted during play in the play bow or while running.
It simply means “Let’s play!”
A rising bark is in anticipation of chasing a ball or the like. It means “this is great! I’m having fun!”

Howling:
Howling is always an appeal to communicate with the pack.
In wolf packs, wolves will howl to locate each other, to announce their presence and sometimes
just for the fun of howling together!

A yipping howl, like “yip yip yip awoooooo” is an attempt to try to locate other pack members.
It means “is there anyone out there? I’m lonely.”
A bark howl like “ruff ruff awoooooooo” is a lonely dog upset that nobody has answered his howl.
It means “Why hasn’t anyone answered me or come to be with me? I’m anxious and lonely. Help me!”

A long, mournful howl is an announcement. “I am here and this is my spot, where are you?”
It declares territory and locates other pack members.

Baying is a sound often made by hounds and is a little different than howling.
It simply means “all together now! Let’s go!”

Whining:
Whining is puppyish behavior that is usually uttered as a request or a plea.
Whining means “I want”, not to be confused with whimpering which means I’m terrified”.
A whine that rises in pitch or ends in a yelping sound is a plea. The louder and more insistent, the more urgent the request.
This noise is a puppy noise and means “I need” or “I want”.
Whining that fades at the end or drops in pitch is anticipatory. It signifies mild frustration and excitement.
It means “come on already! Let’s go!”

Whimpering:
Whimpering is different than whining.
It means that the dog is very uncomfortable, in pain or terrified.
It is a fearful noise and should be heeded.
If a dog is whimpering out of fear, he may become quiet when touched.
But if a dog is whimpering from pain, he will continue to cry and may need medical attention.

Moans:
The moan growl is an attempt to be included or a statement akin to “I am here and this is interesting!”
Moaning and yodeling (common in Malamutes) is a happiness sound and means “I am here and this is great!”
“Talking” is a form of moaning and is a dog’s attempt at being included and expressing enjoyment .
It differs depending on the dog and is not to be confused with growling.
Moaning is also a form of mimicking and some dogs try to talk to their owners…especially if they’re encouraged to!

Sighing:
A simple sigh can mean “everything is a-ok” or “fine, I give up.”
A dog settling after frantically making his bed or turning around for 5 minutes will
often sigh happily, whereas a dog who has been trying to get his way for awhile who finally resigns and gives
up may also sigh, as in “fine, whatever! I relent.” Sighing is also a calming signal and just means “Let’s just be peaceful”

Distress Sounds:
A single yelp or a short, sharp, high-pitched bark means “ouch!” or some similar statement. It is a response to sudden pain or discomfort.
A series of yelps means the dog is experiencing something very painful or frightening and means “I’m hurt!” “I’m scared” or “Help!”
Screaming is a noise no dog lover wants to hear. Screaming indicates extreme pain and panic and means “Help! I think I’m going to die!”

Yawning:
A yawn that ends in a high-pitched squeal often means the dog is impatient or anxious.
A casual yawn is calming signal and means “I can tell you’re upset, but I mean no harm and want peace.”

Sneezing:
Sneezing doesn’t always mean your dog sniffed something that’s tickling his nose.
It is a calming signal and can also signify playfulness.
It can mean “This is great fun!” or “I mean no harm.”
Sneezing is not always a calming signal though, sometimes it just means foreign matter has irritated the dog’s nose.

Notes:
The longer and more drawn-out a dogs vocalization is, the more likely it is to be deliberate.
Urgency can be gauged on how long the vocalization is in the sense that shorter noises tend to be less intentional
and indicate a more pressing need or want.

In general, high-pitched noises can be regarded as submissive, frightened, puppyish or meek
And low-pitched noises can be regarded as dominant, confident, adult and assertive.

Some breeds are more vocal than others. Body language is often a much stronger indicator of a dog’s intent and emotions than
Vocalizations, but knowledge of both canine vocalizations and body language arm us to understand our dogs
as best as we possibly can.

Learn to listen to your dog and train yourself to make correlations regarding your dog’s body language, vocalization
and apparent emotion or desire. Acknowledging your dog’s speaking encourages your dog to communicate more with you
and that is strongly desired. Distress, fear and loneliness noises indicate that your dog is unhappy in one way or another and
the situation needs attention and improvement. Listen to your dog if you expect him to listen to you!
