Wedding Invitations and Handwritten Calligraphy

What You Should Know.
Before you purchase your wedding invitations or correspondence stationery, you need to become familiar with paper quality. The quality of paper you select is very important. Not only because premium paper makes for a more lovely presentation for your recipient, but excellent quality paper is critical if you are using professional, handwritten calligraphy for your envelopes.

The Heirloom.
Your wedding invitation is your heirloom keepsake. Choose stationery that won’t fall apart over time. For example, 100 percent cotton or linen is best. If you are hiring a professional calligrapher to address your wedding envelopes, then avoid the following: thin papers like those of inexpensive greeting card quality, papers made with wood pulp, and handmade or recycled papers. Calligraphy ink may bleed on handmade and recycled stocks.

What to Avoid.
Try to stay away from dark papers or the use of liners in your envelopes. The most formal wedding invitations, at one time, were not accompanied by lined envelopes. Liners have become more popular recently, this is true. However, I often wonder if liners were introduced to create the illusion of “substance” to mask otherwise “thin” paper. If you choose heavy weight premium paper, then a liner is not necessary. If you are “sold” on liners, because you wish to incorporate your wedding color into your invitations, then consider instead: a silk ribbon tied around the invitation with a parchment overlay. Or print an envelope seal in your wedding color on the back flap of our outer envelope. Monograms make wonderful envelope seals. Lastly, because dark colors and liners make envelopes opaque and can also affect writing results, calligraphers may charge more to address these flavors of envelopes.

The Toughie.
How do you choose premium paper? Stationery is usually measured in bond weight. A good piece of paper is thirty-two or forty-pound bond. And hundred-pound offset is roughly equal to forty-pound bond. Heavy cards should be made of three-ply stock. Ask your vendor about their paper quality if you are unsure. Also, here are two great tests for paper quality for envelopes. Hold the envelope up to the light. Is the envelope feathery, very thin and extremely easy to see through? Can you write on it with a good fountain pen, or does the ink bleed? Professional calligraphers use fountain and dip inks. I always tell my clients, “Exquisite calligraphy can only be achieved on the finest paper.”

In Sum.
Choose a reputable wedding vendor for your wedding invitations and correspondence. And remember, if the quoted prices are “too-good-to-be-true”, then the paper and calligraphy most likely are not.

Should I Use Article Marketing Techniques Or Do I Bum It?

Article Marketing is a successful way to acquire traffic for your website. It has become more popular recently especially with the coined term “Bum Marketing.” There are differences to each technique, but basically they are both Article Marketing Techniques.

Article Marketing is easy to implement and can be very effective for acquiring free search engine traffic. For the record it is considered off page SEO.

Basically, you write a short 300 to 500 word article on a niche market keyword and add a keyword rich link in your bio box to the website you want to promote. You then submit the article to one of the many article directory sites and anywhere from 2 days to two weeks you should be listed in the search engines.

Repeat the above step a few times with different articles in the same niche as your website with another niche keyword linking back to your website and you will be listed very fast in the search engines.

Bum Marketing is a name that was coined in the last year. It is exactly the same as Article Marketing but with a slight twist.

You would write the same short 300 to 500 word article on a niche market keyword. But, this time you want to use what is called a “long tail” keyword.

This keyword is so exact in its phrasing that usually has very small amounts of searches done using it every month. And, the kicker is that it has very little and sometimes no competition for that keyword. This means that there is practically no website competing to use the keyword. If you are really lucky there is also little to no PPC programs using that keyword.

Long tail keywords are popular now because it is felt that anyone that does search for this type of keyword is a “hungry buyer.” It is reasoned that a searcher is looking for a precise item for example “charcoal pre-filter for Honeywell Air Cleaner” instead of using the general keyword, “Air Cleaner.”
General keywords are considered hard to convert to sales. A searcher of a general keyword is a so called “tire kicker” who is shopping around but has not made up his mind to buy.

Finally, in the author’s bio box of a Bum Marketing article you link directly to the affiliate program you want to promote instead of linking to your website. I think it is similar to the Google Cash promotion method used in promoting via Adwords.

In a nutshell these are the differences between Article Marketing and Bum Marketing. Both are very effective at becoming a successful Affiliate Marketer.

What Route Are You On?

One of the greatest metaphor’s for life’s journey I have ever heard is that given to me by my very first coach. She likened my journey of life to a trip in a bulldozer through a vast forest - occasionally finding a path to follow but more often forging a path for myself through rough terrain. Encountering rivers, cliffs, quicksand and other obstacles, and sometimes spending a bit of time in a sunny meadow before forging ahead (and getting lost!) again.

This gives me a wonderfully visual representation of my journey which can really help me through the rough times. For example, the challenge of running a thriving business can be likened to staring down a cliff to a wonderful sunny meadow full of flowers…with a really steep and scary path to get down it!

I know that is where I want to be - I can see how lovely it is there, and I know I am not there yet, and I know that I have a lot of work to do to get there. And with this visualisation, I can see my path and I am inspired to keep following it. This helps me to keep my eye on the big picture and keep out of the detailed worrying that bogs us all down from time to time. (it can also draw the eye to a shortcut, or an easier path…)

Can you compare your journey in life to a similar road-based (or not!) journey? Perhaps you are in a sports car on country roads, with the wind in your hair? You are aware, vaguely, of where you want to go, but your primary focus is on enjoying your journey and experiencing the things you see to the full. Your foot is to the floor and you are flying past landmarks barely noticing in your adrenalin rush!

Or perhaps you are on the M6 - you know exactly where you’re going, and the route you will take - you are occasionally held up by traffic, but other than irritating you at the time, this is not a major obstacle for you. Or you could be on the M6, stuck in traffic and going in the wrong direction? Or maybe you are lost. You don’t know what road you’re on, where you’re going or who to ask for direction?

Take a moment to consider what your life journey would look like in this sort of visual representation. What insights does this give you into your life? Perhaps you realise you need a bigger vehicle, or more fuel, or a tune up, or to get off the road you’re on. The insight I have gained (while writing this article, believe it or not!) into my journey is that every now and again I need to come out of the forest into civilisation and get some help!

This is what’s great about this kind of visualisation - it makes you look at your life in a different way, and maybe you’ll see a different answer. If you’re on the wrong road altogether, can you get off at the next turning and change direction? If you are stuck in traffic, is there a way round it? Maybe someone you know knows a shortcut? And if you’re happy with your journey - congratulate yourself and enjoy it!

This is the other thing that seeing my journey this way gives me - it’s a fantastic way of lightening the load. Captain Chaos and her Amazing Bulldozer! It’s like a cartoon isn’t it? All of a sudden, life doesn’t seem so serious or so painful or so hard - look at the big picture and laugh. When you veer off the road into a ditch, see the funny side and know that this is only a temporary setback.

Of course, I’m not suggesting you really drive into a ditch! But do make an effort to enjoy your journey, and if you’re on the wrong route…change it!

Weddings - Channel Your Energies and Deal With Conflict

Weddings can be stressful events not only for the bride and groom but also for other people associated with them. Just like other big events such as Christmas, there is potential for conflict, stress, and arguments. Nobody really knows why this happens, but you can be sure that most people involved in the special event will be feeling some form of stress or loss.

Don’t forget you and your bride or groom are starting a new life together. This means that your parents, siblings, and close friends will be losing something in their own lives. Conflicts do happen and I doubt you will get through the whole process without at least one bad word, slight glance, or full-blown argument.

You can minimize this by communicating effectively, and this is your responsibility. Give other people tasks to do and make them feel wanted and used. They will do the best they can to help you have the most special day of your life.

Now is the time to heal any wounds or previous conflicts. Meet up with people and discuss with them what you feel your wedding day ought to hold and how the planning process is an important aspect of the day itself. Perhaps tell people why you have had conflicts with them in the past and, more importantly, tell them how important they are to you on the special day.

Tell them why you want them to be there on that day and how they can help you through the process and the planning stage in order to make this day special for everybody. People don’t develop conflicts for the sake of it. They develop it because of some hidden agenda or lack of positive communication.

Channel the energies that you have into making your special day memorable. Meet up with people that you have had conflict with them and tell them how important they are to you. By closing these wounds, you will effectively have more hands to help you plan and develop a strategy for your wedding day and, not only that, you’ll have a friend for life. People enjoy helping other people.

How To Check And Improve Your Credit Score

Yes! Today is the big game on TV and you are just getting yourself ready to take up your favorite armchair quarterback position to watch the game. But during the pre game show, you realize you are out of munchies, so you hightail it to the nearby store. But then you stop and slowly walk back into the house. Why? Because you realize that you do not get paid until next week and your credit blows.

Scenes like this are not unusual these days. With the cost of living going up, and with the desire of people wanting to live a better lifestyle going up even faster, there is a good chance that you have piled on more debts that you can comfortably handle. So starting around the third week of every month, you are doing a very careful juggling act, robbing from Peter to pay Paul, and still trying to keep a few extra bucks in your pocket. At some point, this is all going to catch up with you, and you probably know it.

Part of the problem is that you never really understand how the credit system works. It is much more than applying for a credit card, being approved for it, and then charging it up to the hilt. Unfortunately, that is the typical sum total of credit knowledge of many people, and to be a smart consumer, you need to know more than that about how it works.

But consumers who will take the time to understand how the credit game is played are the ones who are going to save big money consistently. Put it in terms of your favorite football team - if they could not differentiate between an interception and a fumble, how successful would they be? By the same token, if you cannot differentiate between a fico score and your own credit history, you cannot be successful either.

Very simply, make a list of the debts you owe. That includes mortgages, gas credit cards, department store credit cards, Visas, Mastercards, Discovers, everything. For each one, note the date that the payment is due, then either visit the store or be sure to mail the payment in time for it to reach the lender and get posted to your account.

Why bother? Because if you create a consistent history of paying your debts on time every month, your credit score will go up because you will have a credit history that reflects on you favorably. The cascading effect is that with a better credit score, you will be approved for offers from other credit cards, probably offering a much better interest rate than you are paying right now, and you are in a position to negotiate with your current lenders to get a lower interest rate.

But that is not all there is to the game. You need to know that just based on the sheer volume of information that the credit bureaus need to maintain about you for years and years about your credit history and every loan you have ever had, it is very likely that your credit report contains errors. The thing that compounds this fact is that the errors do not get corrected automatically, but they stay on your credit report for years and years, with the detrimental effect of lowering your credit score.

For example, say you are shopping for a new car. With a credit score lower than it should be, the best interest rate you can get is probably much higher than it could be, which can cost you hundreds of dollars extra. If you need tips about finding a great loan deal on a new car, you should visit Great Car Loans and Car Lease Deals.

Get a copy of your credit report multiple per year, and get a copy from each of the three major credit bureaus. Go over it with a fine tooth comb, and then follow the advice detailed at my web site about disputing the inaccurate and unfavorable information you see there. The credit bureau is legally on the hook to either verify the information, or if they cannot, to remove it, but you must follow the right procedure for this to work in your favor.

Take the time to understand how the credit game is played, because if you do not know the rules, any game becomes much more difficult to win.

Justice For Women (Is It Is A Bridge Or Barrier)

“WOMEN” or rather correctly pronounced as “We” “men” .How do we address them “House Managers ” /”Bread Earners”/Child Bearers”/”Motivators”/”Better Halves”—–but they make a difference don’t they?

So why not put the difference as an advantage, why don’t we live, dream, aspire, challenge, along with them rather than against them. Makes sense right?

This is the urban age and women along with men are here to make an impact, let’s not ignore them, let’s listen and prioritize them.

In almost all societies through history, women have occupied secondary position vis-à-vis men.
In the initial stages, both men and women start out as equals but over a period of time, however, men begin to acquire more power and get the easier or more desirable roles.

Inequality has been so institutionalized that until very recently, women did not question the right of men to wield power over them. Women had not only accepted that right of men to rule, but had also been forced to accept male superiority as a natural order of things.

Sexual harassment, eve-teasing, insulting the modesty of women, abduction, buying or selling minor girls and forcing them to indulge in prostitution, rape, murder are all considered to be violence against women.

Does the legislation of India provide protective measures to women? If the answer is yes, why do we come across so many instances of criminal behavior towards women and so many cases of violence against women? Who is to be blamed for this? Is the implementation of legislation faulty? Or is it because of male dominated society? The Indian Penal Code has indeed many provisions to protect the women in several aspects Sec.294 of IPC states that whoever to the annoyance of other does any obscene act in the public place, or indulges in eve-teasing thereby insulting decency and morality shall be punishable with three months imprisonment with fine.
Though the legislation has given provisions to punish people who are indulging in eve teasing, this has not helped women in any way.

The brutal and tragic death of Sarika Shah has not resulted in curbing violence against women or in taking stringent action against the brutal criminals.

Sec 509 IPC states that whoever insults the modesty of women, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that vulgar words, gestures or objects which insult a women shall be punished with one year’s imprisonment or with fine or both.

Sec. 360 to 372 of IPC deals with kidnapping, abduction or buying or selling of minor girls. If a female of under eighteen years is kidnapped by any person from India or from lawful guardianship they will be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years and fine.

Sec 376 of IPC states that who ever commits rape shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than seven years and with a fine.

If a man rapes his wife, he shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term, which may extend to two years or with fine or both.

There are so many provisions provided by the Indian Penal Code for women’s protection but how far is it favoring women who are poor victims?

“Not many come out with their problem, only if they throw light to violence against them proper measures can be taken,” feels Mrs. Jayalakshmi, Criminal lawyer, High Court, Chennai.

Being a leading lawyer, she has dealt with umpteen cases in which women were seriously affected by men.

The lawyer feels proud to say that she gave proper justice to an eleven-year-old girl who was raped by her maternal uncle. The girl was not only raped but also forced to go for a nude ride along with the uncle’s friends.
The local police could not take necessary action due to political and personal pressures prevalent in the case. The lawyer intervened in the case and struggled hard to give her justice.
The lawyer feels in spite of various protective measures provided for women by the Indian Constitution, women either do not come out with their problems mainly due to their ignorance of the laws made for their protection or even if they do, they are mentally and physically tortured by their intimates and also by higher officials.

Apart from this financial constraints also make the victim not to expose her problems, adds Mrs. Jayalakshmi.

Our constitution is indeed building a bridge to support women who are helpless victims but many factors come as a barrier in between law and women thereby restricting her to get the needed justice.

“Women at all walks of life face the both mental and physical harassment,” feels the esteemed lawyer.

Even if she is an IAS officer like Nalini Netto she has to be a helpless victim of sexual advancement by the ministers.
A minister irrespective of his caste and creed has to safeguard his nation and protect women but the chauvinistic and dominant nature within him makes him an oppressor.

Why all these instances ever happen at least in this century, which we call the 21st century. All these instances clearly indicate the today’s hypocratic system, which guarantees much but gives none. The system lies in our within, as we lack the ability to under stand a woman and her needs. What basically we lack is the aptitude of sensitization. We take them for granted. And it is for sure that if the mentality of the men remains like this the condition would never change. Any thing if we can blame in the downtrodden attitude of an Indian Male. A man would never understand the position of pregnant women. This we can call the Lack of sensitization.

The popular saying ‘There is a women behind every successful man’ has been replaced to ‘There is a male chauvinistic person behind every successful women’ to restrict her to spoil her life.

What can the law do to curb the male dominated society? It is acting as a bridge for helpless women but the male dominated society is building a barrier between law and women. To cross the barrier women not only need courage and fortitude but also knowledge of protection provided by law and an effective guide to show the path. If we really want to do something for the woman and to increase its status in the society then the first thing we have to change is the Indian male attitude and the second thing we have to really change is the working of the law enforcement bodies. The great leaders of our country make a hell lot of rules for the betterment of women but who’s there to implement it? Its we who can make a difference, so what are we waiting for? So let’s come forward and drive the egoistic monster that is a great barrier for the success of women from within the Indian male and be prepared to join hands with the women and make this world a real beauty. Isn’t it a nice idea?

Face Of Death

The face of death is an ugly sight. When it appears, it causes so much heartache, upheaval, and confusion. Death always comes unannounced. It requires no invitation, but yet it is inevitable and unwanted.

How do we face death when we want to live? We need to face life head on and live each day to the fullest because we never know when that dreaded day will appear. I am not trying to instill fear in you, but one day, we all must face death and the reality should create urgency to know what our life’s purpose is and force us to take action.

No one knows what form of death they will experience. My son died from drowning, my stepfather from drowning, my grandmother from cancer and my sister died in a car accident. When the face of death showed itself to them, all that they had lived for meant little to them at that time. However, the memory of what they accomplished still lives on as a legacy to their children another family members.

Therefore, face life with an intensity of purpose. Don’t spend your life aimlessly wandering around, but with a sense of purpose so that when you come face to face with death, you will have done all you can.

Here are eight keys to consider:

·-Plan your life strategically
·-Make sure you have a will
·-Maintain good relationships
·-Nourish your spiritual life
·-Enjoy every day of your life
·-Spend quality time with your loved ones
·-Don’t worry about things you cannot change
·-Live each day with purpose

Everyone should put plans in place that will make preparations for the inevitable face of death, but at the same time, it is important to enjoy life and not be anxious about the troubles that will invade our lives; especially if we are unable to change anything about the situation.

The confusion that existed after Anna Nicole’s death bears witness of how essential planning makes so much difference. She died without speaking to her own mother who gave birth to her and so it is clear that maintaining vital relationships is an evident process in our lives.

Spirituality is the most important aspect of our lives. We are created as body and spirit, yet most of us spend more time on our body rather than our spirit. When the body dies, the spirit lives on and therefore, we must nourish our spirit to be ready to face death and eternity when the time comes.

Live your lives passionately fulfilled and without regrets. You won’t be able to do anything about incomplete plans and a disorganized life when you face death, so do all you can today and allow your memory to live on in a positive way.

Sort Out Your Wedding Plans - Communicate!

In your wedding plans, there are many different steps to think about. With luck, however, there will be plenty of advice available and people to offer support and help. You may wish to try to enlist the help of special friends or relatives you who trust and know well. Good friends will be there to assist you at every step if you need. They can help you reduce the burden and stresses of the day and the days leading up to it. They will be happy to take on roles which you may consider to be rather routine and mundane in nature. This will release you from the burden of some of these activities and allow you to concentrate on more important or enjoyable tasks.

You may need to develop a way in which you can communicate freely with your friends and relatives and ensure that they know what you wish to have on your special day and the way in which you want it to proceed. Things never run as smoothly as they are hoped and there will always be potential for conflict and discord, but you can minimize this as much as possible by starting, from the outset, to develop a process by which people understand your wants and needs.

You’ll be best served by developing a vision for your special day and by distributing this to your friends and relatives, preferably in written form, or through meetings and social events with them. Now is the time to start healing any wounds or conflicts that you may previously have had with people and give them the responsibility and trust that they deserve in order to help you with your special time.

How Do You Carry Live Worms While Fishing?

This may sound like a silly question, but I always found carrying live worms while fishing was a big pain in the butt. That was until my fishing mentor showed me how to solve this problem with an old piece of clothing. Yes, I said an old piece of clothing. You know how there always seems to be an extra sock hanging out in your sock drawer? Well, my mentor came up with a use for that old sock. That’s right, a worm carrier.

Before you start to think I’m crazy, just hear me out. Simply take the old sock and grab a hold of the end that your toes would go in. Now simply measure four or five inches down and cut the sock off. You now have a worm carrier. A little bait bag, if you will. Simply use a safety pin and pin this little “pouch” onto the front of your fishing vest.

When you’re ready to go fishing, simply take the live worms out of their Styrofoam container and put them into your new bait bag. Just the worms, no dirt. A sock holds about a dozen worms depending on their size. The beauty of this concept is that the worms don’t crawl out! They simply sit in their new carrier and wait to be used. Once you begin using a worm carrier such as the one described here, you’ll wonder how you ever fished without it.

The one downfall to the sock carrier is that a sock carrier is pretty small and certainly less that esthetically pleasing. If you’re interested in the same concept, just bigger and much better looking, just check out JRWfishing. The bottom line is that whether you make your own or purchase a cool one, a worm carrier such as the one described here, is essential to your angling success. As I said, once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever fished without it.

The Ultimate Power Of Using And Testing Headlines In Your Website

Using Headlines

A headline captures the attention of the prospect. This in turn, subconsciously asks the prospect to further read on the content of the website. Headlines have the power to tap into your emotions, wants and needs. Mere words have a psychological impact on you. This is because when you see or read something that caters to your desires you tend to act on that desire to sate it. You have no choice but to read on to see how the website is going to help you.

Powerful headlines could increase your website conversion rates to above 73%. Website conversion rates simply means the number of visitors that come to your site who converted into your customers. Headlines, however requires rectification and testing in order for it to perform in its optimum.

In an internet marketing experiment done by MarketingExperiments.com on improving website conversion rates through headlines, the headline- “Dental Plans for $8.33 a month. Acceptance Guaranteed.” was the most effective in increasing web conversion rates. It was found out that stating a specific, low priced amount for a product or service with a guarantee succeeded in producing a larger amount of click throughs and lead generation.

In another experiment, is was found out that a benefit-driven headline was very effective because of its means to emphasize on the benefits of a product or service. The headline was-”Say Yes when a client asks you to review FIVE MILLION separate documents.” However when the headline was added with just two words, it became-”Say Yes when a client asks you to review FIVE MILLION separate documents. And smile.”, the headline dismally didn’t perform at all with no click throughs and lead generation. This shows that words you use in headlines are extremely crucial in making your headlines perform.

Testing Headlines

To test out various headlines, you have you have to do the following:

1.A/B Split Testing

It is a test to determine which headline performs better than the other one. You could make use of the same landing page with different headlines and observe which page gets the more clicks or more website conversion rates. You could test them out for about 2-4 weeks, based on your preference. Once you observed the page that has more clicks and conversion rates, you’ve found the headline you should use for your website optimization. Also, take note of the headline your visitors preferred to click on. Was it benefit-driven, emotionally-driven, etc?

2.Pay-Per-Click Search Engines

Using pay-per-click search engines like Google Adwords, you can create ads to test out the different headlines. You should use effective phrases or key phrases that people use to find products or services. After a certain amount of time, choose the ad that has the most click through rate and website conversion rate and continue to only use that ad to bring visitors to your website. Do bear in mind that the costs of paying for these pay-per-click ads should be covered by the revenue made from the website.

3.Presentation Of The Headline

Test out the presentation of the headline on your website. Make sure that it is easily readable by the prospect and the message is being put across. You might also want to test out the font and color of the headline to see which one works best. Hiring a web designer to align the designs on your website is recommended as well. Color, size and visibility of headlines have been known to register more psychological aspects into the prospect’s mind.

Using and testing out headlines is a highly recommended procedure to be performed by copywriters. As proven by the headline experiments carried out, mere words, colors and presentation could actually contribute to the impact of a headline. It is all up to you as to how powerful a headline could be.
