10 Tips For Getting Backlinks

Inbound links, usually referred to as IBLs or backlinks are essential if a Website is to become popular and rise to the top of the SERPS (Search engine results pages), and over time, a site with plenty of quality content will naturally get linked to by related sites. This is all well and good, but if you are in a hurry to build Web traffic (and who isn’t?) it is useful to know that there are some things we can do to speed things along.

Before embarking on your link building strategy be aware that some of these methods are open to abuse which could have a negative effect or even get your site banned, so please excercise some common sense and only submit your site’s link when it is relevant and reasonable to do so.

So without further ado, here are my 10 tips for obtaining search engine friendly outside links:

1 - Find online forums related to your site and become part of the community (along with a suitable signature that links to your site).

2 - Add comments to blogs with a link to related content on your Website.

3 - Submit on-topic articles to article directories and include your link in the author bio.

4 - Submit your link to the many free online directory sites.

5 - Add your comments to a guestbook and include your url.

6 - Email the webmaster of a related site and ask to trade links.

7 - Offer to provide some content for another site in return for a link back.

8 - If you have an eBay account, create an “about me” page and include a link to your Website.

9 - Program a useful tool or script that Webmasters will happily add to their sites.

10 - Create compelling and perhaps even controversial content on your Website that people will want to link to.

Of all of the above tips, numbers 7 and 10 are by far the best for an ethical and long term link building strategy, but don’t ruile out the others for some quick link building. Overall; with time and experimentation you will find that by building a quality site with interesting content the links to your site will develop all by themselves!

Getting visitors to a Website can take both time and effort, so it is worthwhile remembering that time spent link building is time well spent for your site and your business. Good luck!

Does A Customer Always Have A Right to Complain?

The customer is always right. This is a very common saying that you hear from time to time especially if you are in the customer service business. The question is, is this really applicable in all cases? Though it is always expected of service providers and suppliers to maintain a good relationship with every customer, you as a customer should not forget that this right also entails a responsibility.

To maintain a good relationship between service providers and customers, both parties should be able to understand and comply with their respective rights and responsibilities. A customer has a right to complain regarding a product or service that a customer is not satisfied with. However, it is also expected that the customer has used reason and common sense before doing so. The law has certain provisions that protect customers but at the same time, it also lists down the responsibilities of a customer.

Why customer complaint is necessary

The reason the law has established the customer’s right to complain is to ensure the protection of the customer - to protect the customer from overpricing, fraud and low quality products. At the same time, it also entails certain benefits to vendors and service providers. Beyond the headaches and high blood pressure, vendors and service providers learn from customer complaints. These give service providers ideas on how to further improve their service to their customers. At the same time, these give them the chance to make up for mistakes that have caused their customers varying degrees of inconvenience.

How to deal with customer complaints

In order to avoid the frustrations when it comes to customer complaints, be sure to set a proper grievance program and have your employees understand customer rights and train them to address them properly. Do not get frustrated because of customer complaints. As stated above, customer complaints help you improve your business.

Make sure, though, that you do all necessary actions and initiate some changes to ensure that you will not receive the same complaint over and over again. If you are always receiving the same complaint, it’s time that you take a deeper look at your customer service practices.

Difficult customers

Now, although customers have the right to complain, there are some individuals who abuse this right. Always be ready for these instances. Being caught unprepared by such so-called nuisance complaints will cost you in productivity and efficiency. Just take for example somebody who returns a pair of shoes after three months to complain that they are too tight.

Sometimes, it leaves me thinking why some people do these kinds of things. I could only think of two possibilities. It’s either these people who are overzealous about protecting their customer rights or these people are just plain stupid. Common sense usually points to the latter reason though.

Dealing with difficult customers

How do you deal with such people and such complaints? The best way is to listen to and understand their concern first. Never cross out the possibility that the customer might have a point. After you have listened to the complaint, show the customer that you have understood the situation perfectly. Then explain to the customer why the complaint is not valid if it is really not.

Do not directly tell the customer that he is wrong. Try the sandwich approach. Appreciate a good point then tell them the bad point then finish up with another appreciation. If everything fails, though, just let go. You don’t need these kinds of customers anyway.

Just remember that it is a duty to serve your customer to the fullest of you ability. Do not forget that your customers are the life source of your business. However, remember that customer service is all about satisfying your customers, but only within reason of course.

Courteous Customer Service

Customer service and courtesy always go hand in hand. Customer service is not customer service if it is not courteous. Courtesy is usually defined as politeness originating from kindness and exercised habitually. This is what actually encompasses quality customer service. Basing from this you can actually say that the measure of good costumer service is courtesy towards customers.

The Importance of Courteous Customer Service

So how do you practise courteous customer service? First, determine the needs of your customers. By needs, we refer not only to the needs that they will pay you for but to any need that will provide them convenience while under your care. Just take for example when you are going to a hotel.

When you rent a hotel room, you primarily pay for the room, water and electricity or even food. However, the best hotels in the world are not renowned only for their rooms but for the very service that they provide. You certainly do not pay for the security guard to open the door for you but you consider it quality service when he does.

This implies that courteous customer service entails going beyond the job description or the need. Customers do not pay for politeness; they pay for their room and its facilities. However, if the establishment’s personnel have been polite and courteous, it is fairly certain that customers would go back and avail of the service from the said establishment again. For customers, satisfying customer service is a bonus that they get from an establishment. For the business, courtesy to customers is a crucial selling factor.

Courteous Customer Service Defined

Courteous customer service personnel are willing to help. As stated above, practicing good customer service means identifying the needs of your customers and venturing even beyond your customers’ needs. Once you have identified the need, address it right away without any further command or instructions. If you see a guest carrying too many bags, offer your help to carry the bags for her. That’s what differentiates exceptional businesses from mediocre ones. Five star hotels did not earn their place by merely providing their guests a place to stay. They are visited by customers because they are willing to perform a service that is beyond the formal scope of their business.

Discrimination does not have a place in courteous customer service. Courteous customer service knows no race, color or religion. A good customer service representative is blind to these differences in as much as he does not let these differences color his perceptions. However, a good customer service person is not blind to differences that affect how people would like to be served. In fact, he recognizes the needs of different people and provides it to them accordingly.

A courteous customer service agent is always on time. Being late is tantamount to being rude. Just think of yourself ordering a pizza only to find out that your order is an hour late. Think of the frustration that you will experience just because your pizza delivery is late. In some businesses, lost of time is lost money.

You may think that bringing the quality of your customer service up to this level will only mean added costs and may even result to more expensive products. It is a yes to both. Initiating changes for better quality service to your customers will involve expensive training of your frontline people. Now if you can’t afford to pay for these through existing operational capital, then you’ll have no choice but to increase your prices accordingly.

However, it is wrong to think that both of these are detrimental to your business. First of all, the training cost will pay for itself when word spreads about your exemplary service. As for price, look around. Any study will tell you that it is not only price that makes a person decide where to eat, where to shop and whose business to patronize. If you have a product that’s well worth the price and good, courteous customer service that make people want to come back, then you will definitely come out ahead.

Fashionable and Stylish

Fashion and style. What are they? Do they always go together? Do they mean one and the same thing? It’s hard to say. According to specialists in the field, fashion is actually a synonym for style or glamour. It has been agreed on the fact that fashion is a way of personal expression, and according to this criteria, one can be fashionable when he/she fits in this expression mode, or unfashionable, which would be the opposite. Fashion has manifestations in all the fields of human activity, that is when can speak about fashion when we refer to topics such as architecture, clothing, music, cosmetics, entertainment, forms of speech or even politics or technology. Anything in these fields can be described as being fashionable or not. When one speaks about materialism or trend s using the term ‘fashion’, it can be associated with a negative meaning.

Most people today perceive fashion as a term referring mostly to clothes. The beginnings of what we call fashion today did actually refer to clothes and they go back as far as the sixteenth century. However, it was only two centuries later that the real manifestations of fashion took place and it happened in Europe, among the wealthy upper classes. Fashion, just like any other manifestation of human activity, underwent major and continual changes, to the point where it is today, that is, being related to many fields of activities.
Of course, it would be unjustified to assume that fashion is the same all over the world. First of all, fashion differs from one society to another. Then, within a certain society, there are a lot of factors which may influence fashion such as age or generation, social class, profession or occupation. Even the geography of certain regions may bring about differences in fashion among the people of the same society.

But how does fashion change? Because we all know that constant change is what fashion is actually about. Everyone will agree that what is new now will soon become old, and the process goes both ways, that I what was once into fashion but is now considered to be old and obsolete will soon turn into something new again. Capitalism has brought along with its numerous good aspects some less appealing ones, such as waste. People buy things which are not necessary to them and consequently speed up the process of change as far as fashion is concerned. Young generations have much to do with this change in fashion as well, because they are always eager and willing to try interesting things, things that they haven’t experienced before, something new to be more precise.

What made fashion so popular among people was actually the television. The moment fashion hit television, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, was the moment when the general population became interested in this aspect. And fashion magazines, websites or even fashion blogs were only one step away.

Pretty much in the same way as fashion, style can refer to may things, from painting, music, literature, web design to linguistics or manners of addressing people. The very definition of style describes the term as a fashionable manner of doing things, which points out that style and fashion are very closely related. Not everything that is considered fashionable will also be regarded as stylish, which is why people should avoid turning into a fashion victim, one of those persons who will wear just about anything that’s seen as fashionable, no matter if it suits them or not, from hairstyles and piercing to clothes. It is true that today’s world and the society we live in have set some rules in what fashion and style are concerned, but these don’t always have to be strictly followed. Being a fashion victim will only turn you into one of the rest. If you want to be ahead at all times, what you must try is to define your own style and that will make you look your best.

Stretching - Ergonomics And Office Chairs And How They Affect Your Health

Even with a well-designed workstation, when working long hours in your office chair, problems may arise. When problems arise, attention has to be paid to the work at hand and how it is performed daily if the person plans to continue working these long hours. When working long hours in front of a computer or at a particular workstation, you tend to hold the same posture for hours without much movement at all of certain muscles and over-stimulation of others. This leads to nothing but muscle pain and strain.

Movement is critical to ergonomic posturing and keeping good body health when it is required to continue working at a single task for hours at a time. What is important is two things to keep in mind when at work.

First is to get a good ergonomic chair, one that has as much movement as you can afford, some of the more expensive models, which are built for people in chairs for longer than 6-8 hours a day, can almost mimic the body’s movements and keep your feet flat on the floor and your eyes at the same level even when reclining. Any chair, as long as it has good reclining positions with tilt tension adjustment will do as long as you remember the second critical ingredient to healthy seating when in your office chair.

#2: It is crucial to your overall body health to take frequent breaks when working in your office chair for long hours. It seems that everyone has a different recommendation for how long and when to take these breaks. The average recommendation by most ergonomists seems to be 5-10 minutes every hour and a half of sitting in a chair. You can also help while working to help to relieve the stress by remembering some simple techniques to help reduce muscle strain.

Try to vary your different daily tasks so that you are not constantly clicking on the mouse for long hours or typing away without using anything else for hours. Also try to refocus your eyes on something other than your computer screen every so many minutes throughout the hour to make sure to lessen eye strain and of course neck strain from being held in one position for too long.

If you can, try to adjust your posture and remember to slightly recline instead of hunching over as the hours progress and your eyes strain to be closer and closer to your monitor.

Stretching your legs while at the office and getting out of that office chair every so often to strech your back as well, can help to lessen the chances of suffering through Carpal Tunnel, Chronic Back Pain or any of the other muscle related office chair injuries that can be avoided with a little practice of better ergonomic movement and constant stretching.

Author Amy Pedersen has worked in the ergonomics and office industry for a number of years and is currently co-founder of Sit On This Ergonomics, operating a number of ergonomic websites dedicated to office chairs and the practice of good workplace ergonomics.

Featuring a wide variety of executive, leather, mesh and task office chairs with an online sales catalog, their website also provides detailed ergonomic information on proper chair positioning and seating in the workplace environment.

Learn More About Fuel Saving Products

With the continual rise of gas prices it has become a wise decision to buy a car that saves fuel. A statistic says that as many as fifteen percent of car buyers reject a certain car model because they are not satisfied with its fuel saving features. Even more, some consumers rule out from the very beginner certain car models, such as SUVs, because they have very poor gas mileage.

Advice on how to improve gas mileage can be found almost anywhere - magazines, web sites, etc.- but can you really turn them into an everyday habit? Will you be able to drive slower every day or maintain the same speed at all time or use air conditioning to the minimum because it is known that fuel consumption will be increased . Of course, changing the oil and the air filters on a regular basis will ensure an improved gas mileage, but fuel saving won’t be spectacular and these procedures are not cost-free. Therefore, more and more consumers turn to a product which saves fuel.

The fuel saving products on the market fall into several categories. One of them is gas additives. It is based on a very sound mechanism and it’s very effective as far as costs are concerned. Its efficiency has been demonstrated scientifically and when using such a fuel saving product, you needn’t worry about low performance or increased exhaust emissions or short engine life anymore.

The testing of these fuel saving products is done according to established standards. Not only don’t they have a negative effect on the environment, but they are actually environment-friendly. How do these products work? The process is quite simple. The hydrocarbons in the gas have the tendency to curl up and form clusters, making it impossible for the oxygen to reach the fuel entirely. For this reason, the gas hydrocarbons burn only partially and what isn’t burned will result into exhaust emissions. The fuel saving products work to ease this process and make exhaust emissions lower.

Fuel saving additives can be found in shops or on the Internet. Regardless of the form they come in, that is liquid or solid, s tablets, they share a characteristic, which is that every product which saves fuel needs to be added when filling up the gas tank. Like many other products in the field, fuel savings products need to be used several times before their effects will become apparent. It is also important that you stick to same fuel saving product and remember that the effects will be obvious only after several fill-ups of your tank.

Fuel saving products improve the maneuverability of your car and the drivability of your engine because they release the engines components in general and the fuel injectors in particular of any possible deposits, while others provide the fuel system of your car with moisture.

A product that saves fuel is most likely to have been tested and registered so it’ s safe to use, but you have to make sure that these conditions are fulfilled. The fuel system of your vehicle will definitely not be harmed and you can relax about the exhaust emissions as well, because a fuel saving product will certainly not increase them. Tests of the products can be done in independent labs but that doesn’t make them less reliable. The most common way to test a product which saves fuel is to compare the test results on the same car, tests which has been performed with and without a fuel saving gas additive.

An effective way to ensure low fuel consumption is to make changes in your driver behavior. However, since this will most certainly not be enough, your satisfaction is guaranteed with a fuel saving product.

Accounting Positions

When most people think of accounting, what comes to mind is usually basic information that’s not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there’s a lot more to accounting than just the basics.

Computers have changed the way accountants and auditors do their job. Accountants can use special software packages to do transactions in basic formats for financial records. Using software they can organize data in financial analysis. This greatly reduces the amount of tedious manual work of recordkeeping and data management. Accountants can use computers to receive their clients’ information by using the internet. Because of this accountants and auditors can utilize these computer skills in correcting problems with software or in developing specific software for data management and bookkeeping. This allow accountants also to perform more technical duties such as analyzing and devising budgets.

Nowadays, many accountants are also taking on the role of a personal financial advisor. They help their clients with their personal budgets. They can help them manage their assets and investments so they can plan for retirement. It is almost like having a personal fitness coach but instead of getting your body in shape they help you get your finances in shape.

With the help of accountants and auditors our Nation’s firms are run more efficiently. The public records are kept more accurately, and they can help them to pay their taxes correctly and on time. Accountants and auditors can offer services which include budget analysis, financial and investment planning, computer software for recordkeeping and limited legal services.

Once you begin to move beyond basic background information, you begin to realize that there’s more to accounting than you may have first thought. Specific job duties vary widely among the four major fields of accounting: public, management, and government accounting and internal auditing.

Are you looking for some inside information on accounting? Here’s an up-to-date report from accounting experts who should know.

Some public accountants specialize in forensic accounting-investigating and interpreting white-collar crimes such as securities fraud and embezzlement, bankruptcies and contract disputes, and sometimes criminal financial transactions by organized criminals in money laundering. Forensic accountants combine their knowledge of accounting and finance with law and investigative techniques in order to determine whether an activity is illegal. Law enforcement personnel and lawyers often work closely with forensic accountants during investigations and many times they appear as expert witnesses during trials.

The only way to keep up with the latest about accounting is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. If you read everything you find about accounting, it won’t take long for you to become an influential authority.

Because of the internet many self-employed accountants may be able to do part of their work at home. Public or government accountants and auditors may have to travel frequently to perform audits at branches for their firms, clients’ places of business, or government facilities.

Most accountants and auditors usually work a standard 40-hour week, but self-employed accountants may work longer if they have many clients. Tax specialists often work long hours during the tax season.

Because of recent accounting scandals, new Federal legislation restricts the nonauditing services that public accountants can provide to clients. If an accounting firm audits a client’s financial statements, that same firm cannot provide advice on human resources, investments, technical, or legal matters, although accountants may still advise on tax issues, such as establishing a tax shelter.

As you can see there are many different accounting positions in public, private, and government areas.

Perfume Definitions And Facts

The following are definitions and facts about perfume that you may not know. This information might enlighten, delight, and educate you when purchasing the right fragrance for you or for someone else.

Perfume Pleasant odor, a preparation used for scenting, fragrant, sweet, or agreeable in smell. (parfum)

Perfumery A perfume house that creates perfumes.

“Nose” A nose is a person who creates fragrances. Years ago perfume making was handed down throughout generations among families. However, now there are schools dedicated to the science of perfume making. Currently, there are three major French perfume-makers having their own in-house blender. These three are Chanel, Guerlain, and Jean Patou.

Eau de Parfum (EDP) 10-30% aromatic compounds. Usually has the most intensity and longevity.

Eau de Toilette (EDT) 5-20% aromatic compounds. Usually is less intense and less longevity than EDP. NOTE: Different design houses may vary the intensity where EDT may be stronger than EDP.

Eau de Cologne (EDC) 2-5% aromatic compounds. This is a type of light perfume that originated in Cologne, Germany and is defined by its typical concentration of about 2-5% esential oils. Eau de Cologne, or just “cologne”, has now become a generic term. Ironically, however, the original Eau de Cologne from Cologne is not an Eau de cologne, but anEau de Toilette, because it contains more than 5% aromatic compounds.

Why do many older people use too much perfume? As people get older, their sense of smell diminishes. Therefore, they apply too much perfume.

Does a fragrance smell the same on everyone? No. Everyone has a unique body chemistry based on skin type, hair color, and the environment in which we live. It is important to try a fragrance on your skin to see how it reacts with your own body chemistry. Also, different skin types affect the fragrance. Oily skin holds scents much more than dry skin. People with dry skin need to reapply more often.

How long can a fragrance be stored? Fragrances do not last forever. Fragrance bottles should be stored in a dry, dark place. Keep them away from heat as extreme temperatures can detroy them. Colognes and eau de toilettes (not parfum) may be kept in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. Fragrances can last up to three years from manufacture date. Take care to check dates.

Does perfume stain clothing? Most perfumes are safe to spray on your clothes without leaving a stain.
