Visit Gambia For An Historic Look At A Past British Empire

The Gambia is a narrow strip of a country and is the smallest (only 48km wide) on the African continental mainland, officially known as the Republic of The Gambia but is more generally referred to as Gambia. It is bordered to the north, east, and south by Senegal, and has a small coast on the Atlantic Ocean in the west. The River Gambia is the major landmark of the country and the main source of irrigation, flows through the middle of the country and into the Atlantic Ocean. The Gambia was formerly part of the British Empire but gained its independence in 1965.

A bloodless military coup d’etat took place in the capital Banjul on July 22, 1994. The then President Dawda Jawara was overthrown and replaced by the country’s current President Yahya Jammeh. Arch 22 was built as a gateway to the capital to honour this occasion. This 35m high gate is at the middle of an open square and houses a textile museum.

The climate in the Gambia is subtropical with cool and hot seasons. For the most part of the year, hot and humid weather prevails with the rains from June to October. The highest temperatures during this time can reach around 43˚C with lower temperatures in areas near the sea. The cool season is from November to May with continuous dry weather, with temperatures as low as 16°C in Banjul and surrounding areas.

The Gambia has a wide range of natural and historical heritage to discover besides the glorious sandy beaches such as: forts, historic towns and villages, forests, national parks, ancient ruins, museums, historic monuments and wildlife. Beaches in The Gambia are sandy and not particularly crowded and the main beaches are in the resort areas. Do remember though, the Gambia is a Muslim country and you should dress accordingly away from the beach, swimming pools or tourist areas.

Cape Point has a wonderful large sandy beach and there is water sports centre at the Sun Beach Hotel that offer activities such as jet skis, canoes, windsurfing and sailing.

The Gambia is a bird watchers delight, attracting bird enthusiasts from all over the world. There are over 500 various species of bird in what is considered a comparatively small area and many birdwatchers return every year.

Wrestling is the national sport in the Gambia and it is commonly known as “Borreh”. During each fight, musicians beat drums until one man is pinned to the ground on his back. The winner then circles the crowd in a victory dance after each session to collect money for his success.

Attractions in the capital Banjul include the lively Albert Market which sells a range of products and includes local handicrafts. The Gambian National Museum showcases some very interesting and informative maps and text with reference to archaeology, African culture and the colonial era.

The Abuko Nature Reserve is Gambia’s oldest protected area; it is situated outside the village of Lamin in the Kombo North District around 25km from Banjul. It covers some 180 acres of land and is a perfect location that attracts numerous species of exotic bird and wild animals like crocodiles, hyenas, antelopes, lizards and monkeys. There are more than 50 varieties of trees and the reserve also protects and conserves a large area of gallery forest.

The woodcarving Centre at Brikama offers an insight into the production of wood carving and occasionally you can see the craftsmen at work. A fantastic variety of woodcarvings and souvenirs can be bought at a fair price.

Makasutu is a palm forest located on the bank of a pretty winding tributary of The Gambia River (Mandina bolong), not far from Brikama. It is a mixture of several diverse eco-systems with dense forest, Savanna and mangrove regions. Numerous varieties of birds inhabit the area, monkeys, monitor lizards, pygmy deer and maybe even baboons are also amongst the wildlife found there.

Kiang West National Park (KWNP) is located in the Lower River Division in the Kiang West District, around 145km from Banjul and covers an area of around 11,000 hectares. In 1987, it was established as a National Park. Dry deciduous woodland and guinea savannah covers most of the Park; there are wide stretches of mangrove creeks and tidal flats. The West African Manatee, otters, sitatunga and roan antelopes have been spotted. Additionally, there are more than 300 species of birds have been sighted in the park.

The Bao Bolon Wetland Reserve is located on the North Bank of The Gambia River opposite the Kiang West National Park. Bao Bolon has four main ecosystems - estuary, woodland-savannah, salt-marsh and mangrove forest. Crocodiles, Clawless otters, warthog, hyena and jackal are amongst the wildlife. The birdlife is exceptionally good there, and some rare species such as the goliath heron can be seen. You can reach this reserve by taking a boat trip across the river from Tendaba.

The River Gambia National Park (Baboon Island) is home of the Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Trust and is the longest running chimp rehabilitation project in Africa - since 1969. The trust gives orphaned chimps the chance to grow and thrive in their natural habitat rather than some unthinkable fate.

James Island is located in the middle of the River Gambia around 25km upriver from Barra. Fort James was originally built in the 1650’s and was destroyed and subsequently rebuilt a few times during battles between the British and the French- now in ruins. The fort was abandoned in 1779 when Britain withdrew from the slave trade. The island is affected by heavy erosion, and is now only a fraction of its original size. The ruins of many of the British administrative buildings have now been protected against further erosion, but as the island is very low and vulnerable to flooding, the buildings are lashed by waves. It is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The British built Fort Bullen is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located on the river’s north bank at Barra Point opposite Banjul. The fort was built around 1926 to protect the trading route of the Gambia River and fend off any attacks on what was formerly Bathurst (now Banjul). Fort Bullen was once more put to use as an observation post and artillery base by the British Army during WW2 to protect against potential attacks.

Janjangbureh is located on the north side of MacCarthy Island and has ferry services from both the north and south bank. It was known as Georgetown in Colonial times and was a busy, thriving administrative centre filled with grandiose buildings. Nowadays it has a more relaxed ambience. The old commissioners quarters, post office, police station, slave house, market and restaurants are all within close proximity of each other.

There are around 40 sites of stone circles from Farafenni to Basse and more which extend north into Senegal. These circles of stones date back over a thousand years and are believed to be burial sites. The stones at Wassu are the most well known and contain some remarkable stone. There is also a museum which has models and photographs which depict the history of the stones. The number of stones in each circle varies from 10 to 24, diameters up to to 7m, from just under a metre to a little over 3m in height.

Niumi National Park is located in the north-west part of the country and stretches from just outside of the town of Barra to the northern border with Senegal and close to the Delta du Saloum National Park. Ginak Island is incorporated into the park detached from the mainland by the Niji Bolon channel. There are two villages on the island and around 15km of narrow sandy beaches. There is a small coastal lagoon on the island with salt marshes, mangrove, mudflats and rice fields and the rest of the island is dry woodland. The mainland part of the park has more widespread, high mangrove forest and additional smaller areas of salt marsh and mudflats.

Bijilo Forest Park is a small coastal reserve dominated by Rhun Palm is just a short walk from Kololi and is more commonly known by the locals as Monkey Park. There are well kept trails of varying lengths that takes you through the abundant and shaded vegetation, and you’ll easily see monkeys and many species of birds.

Katschi-Kali is a sacred pool in the town of Bakau and is home to over a hundred crocodiles. The pool was discovered by the inhabitants of Bakau centuries ago.

The book “Roots” by Arthur Haley is about Kunta Kinte who discovered his roots in the Gambian village of Juffureh. This inspired the “Roots Homecoming Festival” in commemoration of the enforced slave trade.

The Tanje Village Museum is a small open air museum depicting the natural history and traditional culture of how life was in The Gambia a century or so ago. There are various houses that you can go inside and explore to see how things were done back then. Visitors can also take a walk around the museum’s garden and take a closer look at a variety of plants, trees and bushes that can be found in The Gambia. There is a fact sheet available to explain the names of these and their uses.

Tumani Tenda is a traditional Jolla village located around 25 km East of Brikama and 3 km from Kafatu Bolong. The village is home to around 300 inhabitants and there is an eco tourism camp just outside of the village where visitors can stay to experience the culture of this almost self sufficient community. The accommodation consists of round traditional African houses constructed with local resources and blends in with the natural environment.

Natural Insomnia Cure - Planning Ahead For Bedtime

You may be asking why you have to plan ahead for bedtime. If you don’t plan, bedtime sneaks up on you. Bedtime comes and goes, and you’ll still be gallivanting around the house trying to get one last chore done, play one more computer game, or hear the last joke on your favorite late night talk show. Meanwhile, your exhausted brain and body are crying out for the rest, but you’re so busy being busy you ignores them. When you do finally fall into bed, you aren’t relaxed. Your brain is still spinning a mile a minute. So, instead of sleeping, you lie there and twitch like a Mexican jumping bean.

You may be like some adult who seem to have forgotten about the importance of pre-sleep ritual. Perhaps your only remaining childhood ritual is to brush your teeth. Many adults run all day long, avoiding their problematic issues so they can focus and take care of business. Then they bedtime rolls around, they abruptly stop and leap into bed, switching off the light as they hit the mattress. They expect to fall asleep immediately, but of course, they often don’t. All the problematic they avoided thinking about as well as a few mini crises that cropped up during the day come flooding into their consciousness. The net result is sleeplessness.

As you start to put together a bedtime routine, keep in mind activities that appeal to you. If you come up with routine full of activities you don’t like, then you routine will fail and you’ll end up just as sleepless as ever. Maybe you already have some good nighttime habits, but some stressful event or deadline pressure has thrown you off regular schedule. Make up your mind to put yourself and your health needs first and get back to your routine. If you’re under tons of pressure, sleep should be the first thing you pay attention to, not the last.

Don’t try to change everything in your nighttime routine all at once, which is another recipe for failure. Many of these activities are lifestyle features. Look at what you’re currently doing leafing up to bedtime that doesn’t work, and then pick one or two things you want to try to see if they work for you. List them in your order of your preference and then try the first item for at least three weeks. (It takes that long to create a new habit)

Pick out where you want to sleep, and do everything you can to make that location as comforting and inviting as possible. Select a comfortable night grows or pair of pajamas to sleep in. Then pick one item from the list of things you want to change to help yourself sleep better and start with that.

At the end of three weeks, if you’ve been successful in adopting the first new habit into your bedtime routine, they try adding the second item from your list. For example, try taking the time to turn down your bedding, fluff up your pillows, and spray some lavender or jasmine scents on the sheets and pillow cases. Consider enjoying a soothing cup of herbal tea (decaffeinated , of course).

Loose Leaf Tea in the United States - A Short History

The market for loose leaf tea in the United States is growing strongly as tea drinkers from all walks of life rediscover the taste, health benefits and value of loose leaf tea.

But one must ask the question: why is loose leaf tea less popular in the United States than in the rest of the world? The answer lies in the combination of the political and economic history of our country and the presence of the low quality tea bag.

The Colonies Reject Loose Leaf Tea

Although tea drinking originated in China, consumption of tea based on good taste, health benefits and the sense of well being one achieved by tea drinking spread to the western world. The American colonies embraced the habit of tea drinking after tea was introduced by Dutch traders in the 17th and 18th centuries and became one of the largest tea drinking regions in the world on a per capita basis. Colony consumption of tea dwarfed that of the parent country England.

The French and Indian War, or Seven Years War, after which the British ruled supreme in most of North America, represented the decisive turning point in British-colonial relations however. The Treaty of Paris in 1763 ratified Britain’s undisputed control of the seas and shipping trade, as well as its sovereignty over much of the North American continent east of the Mississippi River (including French Canada).

But the British expected the Colonies to pay for the war (the British borrowed heavily from European Bankers to finance the war) and this fact planted the seeds of rebellion.

During the years leading up to the American Revolution, Britain, through a policy of salutary neglect, had allowed the colonies by default the right to manage their own affairs. The subsequent efforts on the part of royal officials to rectify this deficiency and collect unprecedented amounts of revenue violated what many American colonists understood as the clear precedent of more than a century of colonial-imperial relations.

New world institutions of self-government and trade, having matured in an age of salutary neglect, would resist and ultimately rebel against perceived British encroachment. Taxation policy became a central point of contention, because it tended to threaten both the prosperity and autonomy of colonial society.

Between the Seven Years War and the Revolution the British enacted a series of heavy handed taxation and other policies that attempted to raise revenue and regain control over the wayward colonies. Many of the acts focused on tea and the result was revolution.

On the night of December 16, 1773 Massachusetts Patriots disguised as Indians illegally boarded the Dartmouth, a cargo ship bearing 342 chests of East India Tea valued at about £10,000. In defiance of Governor Thomas Hutchinson and British tax authority in general, the intruders dumped the entire shipment into Boston Harbor, precipitating a crisis that would lead to revolution.

The Boston Tea Party was an act of uprising in which Boston residents destroyed crates of British tea in 1773, in protest against British tea and taxation policy. Prior to the Boston Tea Party, residents of Britain’s North American 13 colonies drank far more tea than coffee. In Britain, coffee was more popular. After the protests against the various taxes, British Colonists stopped drinking tea as an act of patriotism. Drinking of loose leaf tea in the United States is only now recovering.

Replaced by coffee and the convenient tea bag, consumption of loose leaf tea would remain dormant until the start of the 21st Century.

Enter the Tea Bag

During World War II, tea was rationed. In 1953 (after rationing in the UK ended), Tetley launched the tea bag to the UK and it was an immediate success. The convenience of the tea bag revolutionized how Britons drank their tea and the traditional tea pot gave way to making tea in a cup using a tea bag. The success of the tea bag accelerated in the United States as well and soon came to dominate the tea drinking market.

In a tea bag, tea leaves are packed into a small (usually paper) tea bag. It is easy and convenient, making tea bags popular for many people today. However, the tea used in tea bags has an industry name, called “fannings” or “dust” and is the waste product produced from the sorting of higher quality loose leaf tea.

What is Good About the Tea Bag?

About the only thing good about the tea bag is the convenience factor. In the past, many Americans were willing to sacrifice taste and quality for convenience. This trend is now changing.

It is commonly held among tea drinking experts that the tea bag provides an inferior taste and tea drinking experience. The paper used for the bag can also be tasted, which can detract from the tea’s flavor. Because fannings and dust are a lower quality of the tea to begin with, the tea found in tea bags is more tolerant when it comes to brewing time and temperature. But the taste suffers in quality.

The main difference between loose teas and bagged teas is the size and quality of the leaves . Tea leaves contain chemicals and essential oils, which are the basis for the wonderful flavor of tea. When the tea leaves are broken up, those oils can evaporate, leaving a dull and tasteless tea as well as losing many of the health benefits of loose leaf tea.

There is also the space factor. Tea leaves need space to swell, expand and unfurl. Good water circulation around the leaves is important, which doesn’t typically happen in a tea bag.

Loose leaf tea comes in greater variety than bagged tea when one considers the multitude of blends and flavors that are loose leaf tea offerings. There is at least one or more tea blends for the palette of any individual tea drinker.

Additional reasons why bag tea is considered lower quality include:

–Dried tea loses its flavor quickly on exposure to air. Most bag teas contain leaves broken into small pieces; the great surface area to volume ratio of the leaves in tea bags exposes them to more air, and results in stale tea.

–Loose tea leaves are likely to be full formed and larger and are robust for multiple infusion of the leaves. This results in a lower cost per cup.

–Breaking up the leaves for bags disperses flavored oils and other oils that support health benefits.

–The small size of the bag does not allow leaves to diffuse and steep properly.

The Reemerge of Loose Leaf Tea

Every day more tea drinkers are realizing the benefits of loose leaf tea: high quality, fresh taste, better health and well being and greater variety offered. As a result the popularity of loose leaf has grown tremendously among discriminating tea drinkers.

Loose leaf tea is now enjoyed by millions of tea drinkers throughout the United States who are looking for a beverage that offers significant health benefits combined with good tasting varieties and a low cost per cup.

Is Loose Leaf Tea Expensive?

The answer is no because high quality loose leaf tea can support multiple infusions. Many tea drinkers look at the cost per tin of loose leaf tea and conclude it is expensive. However when viewed on a cost per cup, loose leaf tea is as economical as bagged tea and you receive higher quality tea. Much of the cost for bagged tea is a result of the bagging process and the packaging of the bags.

What About Storage?

Tea in bags has a shorter shelf life than loose leaf tea because the fannings in bagged tea tend to dry out faster.

Loose leaf tea has a longer shelf-life that varies with storage conditions and type of tea. Black tea for example has a longer shelf-life than green tea but all loose leaf tea, properly stored, will maintain freshness for a long time. Tea stays freshest when stored in a dry, cool, dark place in an air-tight container. Black tea stored in a bag inside a sealed opaque canister may keep for two years.

So, join the loose leaf tea drinking revolution for good taste, health and well being. It is something that even the British Empire can not stop!

Heeding Relationship *Red Flags*

The sport of auto racing traditionally uses a system of colored flags to communicate important messages to the participating drivers. Typically, there is a primary flagman who waves the flags atop a flagstand in the middle of the course. But because many drivers may not be able to see the flagstand, several other officials are stationed along the course to direct traffic and keep drivers aware of various road conditions and hazards.

It isn’t much of a stretch to see how this aspect of professional car racing can help explain some important aspects of dating, since singles are told to look out for “red flags” while following a dating “road map” and navigating relationship “curves and obstacles.”

In auto racing, flags are used to inform all drivers of the general status of a race. A solid green flag is usually displayed to indicate the start of a race. If a race is not under caution or delayed, it is said to be under “green-flag” conditions. The solid yellow flag, or caution flag, requires drivers to slow down due to a hazard on, or off, the track. The checkered flag is the most famous flag in auto racing — it invariably indicates that a driver has completed, and won, the race.

But it’s the solid red flag that is referred to the most when racing analogies are made to dating. In auto racing, the red flag is displayed when track conditions are considered too unsafe to continue the race. Heeding the red flag is necessary in order to prevent serious car accidents or injuries to the racers. In dating, a “red flag” is defined as a behavior you observe or experience in your dating partner that warns you of a problem area in the relationship, or about the other person.

“Red flags” can be information or behaviors alerting you to the possibility that any one of your relationship needs or requirements won’t be met by your dating partner, or that something is going on that could potentially cause mental, emotional or physical harm.

Unfortunately, red flag behaviors are often ignored by singles eager to have a relationship. Staying in such a relationship can be unfulfilling, painful, or at worst, harmful to others as well, such as children, relatives or friends. Consequently, singles need to be as conscious as possible while navigating the dating racetrack on the way to the finish line, being on the lookout for the red flags when they appear.

Jerry thought he saw a red flag when he noted Michelle’s apparent lack of warmth when they were around children. Jerry was a single father with sole custody of his two children, and wanted to remarry and hopefully have more. Michelle had never-married, and while she said she wanted children, Jerry was concerned when he observed how she interacted with the various children they met when they went out together (like their nieces and nephews or children of friends). Michelle’s behavior around children was a red flag for Jerry, as he wondered if she would be able to meet his relationship needs and requirements of building a family. I encouraged Jerry to share his observations with Michelle, in order to be clear about this aspect of the relationship he wanted.

Michelle was initially upset when Jerry raised his concerns, saying that of course she wanted and loved children! However, Jerry persevered and shared his observations of her behaviors and what they meant to him. As they discussed the issue, Michelle concluded that her behavior most likely reflected a “different style” of relating to others, especially to children, coupled with a certain amount of nervousness on her part. As they continued to date and socialize more over tiime, Jerry saw how Michelle made greater efforts to engage with others, not just children, and the red flag was replaced by a green “all clear” flag.

Jerry was able to successfully acknowledge and attend to this red flag because he knew what he wanted in a relationship and didn’t see it in Michelle’s behavior. He trusted his instincts that Michelle was not acting in a way that he wanted the future mother of his children to act. Rather than ignore these warning signs, he listened to his instincts and took appropriate action.

Unfortunately, many singles don’t listen to their inner voice when something doesn’t feel right in their relationship. While drug, alcohol or physical abuse are obvious red flags one shouldn’t ignore, some other behaviors are not always so clear.

Shelly and Marvin had gone out for three months and enjoyed each other’s company. They shared many interests and pursuits and had similar spiritual and life goals. Shelly was especially attracted to Marvin’s intellect, and enjoyed listening to him express his opinions on a variety of subjects of which he was well-informed. Shelly was inspired to learn more about some of these subjects and formed her own opinions, which she looked forward to sharing with Marvin during their dates. Marvin encouraged her participation, but Sandy found that he did not really listen to her ideas and instead used them as a way to talk more about his opinions, and himself.

Shelly initially didn’t want to “rock the boat” by asking Marvin for what she needed, since in so many ways she thought they had a good relationship. But she saw this as a red flag needing attending though, and eventually asked Marvin to listen to her more and interrupt her less. He initially agreed, but Shelly later noted that while she spoke, Marvin was not really listening to what she said; he was just waiting to have his turn. And when he spoke, he was dismissive of Shelly’s opinions and ideas. Shelly had to determine if the negative way Marvin treated her was enough of a red flag to warrant ending the relationship.

Staying in a relationship with someone demonstrating red flag behaviors does not provide a strong foundation for a happy, gratifying relationship. Many singles ignore red flags, only to realize that the negative behaviors they experience with someone also indicates how they treat others. Remember, what you learn about your dating partner while dating is valuable information to help you predict the quality of your relationship in the future. So if Marvin is dismissive and bombastic now, Shelly has to think how this behavior could, for example, affect his ability to eventually get along with his in-laws and raise their children.

Red flags typically don’t get better and don’t go away, even if ignored. And red flags don’t miraculously cure themselves or go away even if you do recognize them and try to discuss them with the offending partner.

Just as in car racing, red flags have to be observed and heeded. But sometimes you have to get out and locate different opportunities — ones with green flag conditions indicating the potential for a more fulfilling and gratifying life partner relationship at the finish line.

Travel Insurance Can Make A World Of Difference To Your Holiday

If you’re planning a large trip overseas for your next holiday, it’s likely that you’re feeling a mix of both heady and nervous excitement. Whether you’re planning to visit the French Riviera, the pyramids of Giza or the Australian outback, your initial excitement towards the pleasures that await you on your travels can give way to some niggling worries of any possible mishaps you might encounter.

For example, what if your train or aeroplane is cancelled? What if your bags get lost or stolen? And, more seriously, what are the chances that you’ll be involved in an accident or be caught in an emergency situation in a foreign country? It’s for these reasons, as well as many others, that travel insurance is an essential purchase when making plans for your travels.

Whatever your holiday destination, you’ll find it’s possible to get European and worldwide travel insurance that covers all your essential needs. The most common risks covered by travel insurance are cancellation, delayed departure, loss, theft or damage to personal possessions and money, emergency evacuation or repatriation, legal issues and - in the most extreme cases - accidental death, injury or disablement.

In addition to cover for such circumstances, you’ll find that many companies will let you tailor your own travel insurance to the risks you think will be most likely on your holiday - whether it’s European or worldwide travel insurance you’re after.

For instance, if you’re planning to visit the French Alps on a skiing trip, or you want to go scuba diving in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, you’ll be able to add on extra protection for winter or water sports. You might also want to consider adding on insurance cover for natural disasters - for instance, if you’re travelling to Bangladesh when there’s a high risk of flooding, or if you’re taking a trip to Florida during the summer months, when the prospect of hurricane damage is at its highest.

Many travel insurance companies will also offer add-on protection for extreme sports - so if you’re in Thailand and would like to indulge in a spot of bungee jumping, you can rest assured that you’re covered for any potential injuries or accidents that might occur.

Whatever your main holiday concerns, travel insurance companies are sure to offer you comprehensive advice on what your greatest risks are, depending on your particular holiday location and the type of lifestyle and holiday pursuits you enjoy most. After all, if you can’t swim and you’re scared of heights, you’re not likely to require anything more than the basic travel insurance package!

So, make sure you consider a range of factors before deciding which travel insurance package to opt for - you’ll enjoy peace of mind during your holiday, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you’re being well looked after.

A Couch With The Name Levitra Spray-Painted On It - Don’t You Sense A Little Mystery In It?

An unprecedented enigma is right here in front of you and you are likely to encounter it straightaway if you are a US resident or even if you are presently on a visit to the United States of America! You don’t need to rack your brains to discover the meaning of what I am presently talking about as this inscrutable object has already made headlines and just on browsing the internet you would come across it by all means.

I am dwelling on the conspicuous mystery generated by the availability of Levitra couches all over the US and the emerging consequences. Some of the bloggers who are the diehard foes of the Levitra manufacturer Bayer Corp and the distributor GlaxoSmith Kline are spreading the word around that it is a cheap publicity stunt by Levitra owners. But does the anti-impotency medicine Levitra that cures erectile dysfunction in people with a range of disorders like hypertension and diabetes need to be promoted? Leivtra has already carved out a niche position in the pharmaceutical market and the future of the medicine is secure and stable and as a consequence excessive self-promotion by the company is not required.

Nevertheless, this recent phenomenon has made Levitra a household name and made it apparent that erectile dysfunction is not something to be shrugged off easily. For sure, the association of the name Levitra with couches is an indication that the anti-impotency drug which is third in line after Viagra and Cialis, adds to the comfort of man. When erectile dysfunction enters the life of a man and starts to wreak havoc, he needs to seek medical protection immediately and medicines like Levitra can provide him the much needed comfort and succor.

An aura of entire hilarity and mystery is created by the Levitra couches scattered around the streets of America. If you have not already seen the pictures of Levitra couches, be smart enough to browse the web and look at those snaps. After all, those Levitra couches look attractive and they are also capable of tickling your funny bones!

The writer addresses issues on the causes, consequences of erectile dysfunction and also on the ways of overcoming ED. To access his write ups, access the website http://www.levitrabliss.com

Control and Lose Weight Healthily

If you are under 20 years of age, don’t try to reduce except under a physician’s guidance. This is also advisable if you are a young mother, or have anything wrong with heart or other organs. If you are not in these groups, and need to reduce, take it slowly. A pound or two off a week is plenty.

To reduce calories without starving your body of its other needs:

Eat three meals a day, but don’t be tempted by between- meal snacks.

Avoid high-calorie foods like the fat on meat, cooking fat, salad oil, fried foods, gravies and rich sauces, nuts, pastries, cakes, cookies, rich desserts, candies, jellies, and jams. Eat small-sized servings of bread or cereal.

Don’t skimp on fruits and vegetables. Eat a variety-yes, potatoes, too. A medium-sized potato has no more calories than a big orange or a big apple. But take fruits and vegetables straight-vegetables without cream sauce or fat, fruit without sugar and cream. Don’t skimp on protein-rich foods, for you need plenty of lean meat, milk, and eggs.

If you are underweight you need to turn the tables to put some fat on your bones. You need three balanced meals, as overweights do. To these meals, you can freely add the extras shunned by the weight reducers-such as rich gravies and desserts, salad dressings, and jams. And you can well take some extra food as between-meal snacks.

Taking foods apart chemically, scientists are learning more exactly, nutrient by nutrient, what each familiar food can provide for the body’s needs.

It’s up to you…

- To get all the nutrients needed, it’s wise to choose a variety of foods. It is also important to get enough of the different nutrients from food. A food plan worked out by nutritionists, such as the one given on pages 14 and 15, is a handy guide.

- You will be off to a good start nutritionally if you plan meals by some orderly plan, so that daily food includes needed quantities of protein, minerals, and other nutrients.

- You are following through effectively when you cook by up-to-date methods that keep delicate vitamins and minerals from being wasted.

- And, rounding out a family nutrition program, you can make mealtime interesting and food associations pleasant. For, after all, food must be eaten to count for good nutrition. You can, for example . . .

- Make a collection of nutritious recipes that the whole family enjoys, and use them reasonably often.

- When re-using one of these favorites, vary the meal with different food combinations.

- If an inexpensive dish seems dull, vary flavor with seasonings, or combine with other foods different ways.

- Use contrast in food colors, flavors, textures. Some bright-colored food, something crisp, for example, can heighten the eye appeal and appetite appeal of a meal.

- Give children small servings, remembering that big amounts may be discouraging. It’s better for a child to form the habit of cleaning his plate and asking for a second helping, if wanted.

- Introduce a new food to a young child in sample tastes, and at the start of a meal when he is hungry . . . and if he doesn’t like it at first, try another day.
