A Timely “No” Beats A Mysterious “Maybe” Every Time

Lots of people fear rejection, and of course this afflicts salespeople, too.

For this reason, some sellers are afraid to close, which is directly asking for assent, and others fear calling back and following-up because they’re concerned they’ll seem too impatient and aggressive and this will spoil a deal that may have ripened with time.

But I believe it is exceedingly helpful to drive each prospect to a commitment one way or another and the sooner the better!

Just today, I exchanged email with a prospect who said he was going to take 4-6 weeks to
approve my deal because he wants to do some research.

While I believe him, and he’ll undoubtedly become more convinced my training methods are unique and superior, I don’t want to let an infinite number of variables and distractions intrude into the consideration process.

So, I offered him a satisfaction guarantee, which is bulletproof.

It totally takes the risk out of the equation for him and for his company if he says yes, NOW.

Of course, if there’s no genuine hope for my proposal, having eliminated all of his excuses, I’ll learn that the real answer is NO.

But that’s great, and why?

Because hearing a NO today will save me 4-6 weeks of DELUSION, of fostering the false belief that I have a good, and even increasing shot at earning his business.

This frees me from following-up incessantly, while he ducks my calls and trashes my email, chasing after what will still be a NO. I don’t want garbage in my sales pipeline; if I have it, I need to flush it now.

My advice to anyone who sells is simple: Get a timely yes or no, but never settle for a mysterious maybe!

Long Distance Relationships

It used to be that your dating prospects came from a very narrow geographic range, at least before the Internet. Today with chat rooms, instant message, email, cell phones, unlimited long distance plans, and even web cams, not only has that geographic range expanded to worldwide, but communication has become instant.

We have shrunk the world with our technology. No longer need we look around our own neighborhoods for dating partners. The world has become our own private singles bar, but the cost we pay for this is the acceptance that long distance dating is going to occur, and it is going to cause a certain amount of frustration.

A variety of free software will help keep you in very close contact with anyone any where in the world.

Skype is a computer program that can be used to make free voice calls over the Internet to anyone else who is also using Skype. It’s free and considered easy to download and use, and works with most computers. Once you download, register and install the software, you’ll need to plug in a headset, speakers or USB phone to start using Skype.

Sugar Daddy Babes provides support for Skype. You can enter your Skype details at signup or from your control panel. A Skype icon will appear in a members profile to indicate they are a Skype user.

MSN Messenger is another source similar to skype and only its more personalised so that you only chat with the people you invite into your system. MSN Messenger also offers web cam viewing and live video all you have to do is download and add the email addresses of the people you wish to communicate with. Yahoo also has a version of this kind of software. For broadband users we feel that Skype is the easiest and the best quality.

If you’re in a long distance relationship then send an email so that your partner wakes up to your message first thing in the mornings. Mobile phones are expensive to use and not everyone has the money to talk on them every night but send an SMS message from time to time, and let your partner know that you always have them on your mind.

If you’re just starting a long distance relationship learn all the important dates and write them down like birthdays etc..

If your doing something special yourself make sure you take a few pictures and send them to your partner they will appreciate seeing your face. And again will conform in their mind that they are important to you.

The more you can make your partner feel like they are only living just down the road from you the better chances you have of making your new relationship work. Its hard being so far away from someone you care about but it’s not impossible. Use technology to its fullest and even send each other small gifts through the post office. The more personal things seem for both of you the more your going to succeed. Our video messenger and chat room facilities are ideal for bringing you closer.

Long distance relationships do work, the secret is communication, and with today’s technologies available for free. Seeing someone face to face is as easy as turning on your computer and saying hello.

How Port Forwarding Works

Port forwarding is one area where people get confused the most. The reason, in my opinion, is that each router manufacturer has their own different way of doing it. Port forwarding is used if you have a router in your home or workplace. What it does is opens up a specific port to a specific computer. The port usually requires opening for a certain software applications. The most common for businesses is remote access.

Here is a generalized step by step guide to port forwarding:

1. Open up a web browser and type in the IP address of your router. If you don’t know it, here is a trick to finding it out. Click “start” -> then “run” -> type in CMD -> in the DOS window that opens up type in IPCONFIG. Now below will list your IP Address for your computer, the subnet mask and the default gateway. The default gateway is usually your router’s IP address.

2. Now you will be brought to the log in screen of your router. If you never changed the default (which most people don’t) here are the common default user name and passwords:

admin, password
administrator, password
admin, admin
“blank”, admin

3. Once your are logged in you need to navigate to the port forwarding settings. This is where each manufacturer does it their own way. Basically you are looking for menu setting “applications and gaming” or “firewall”

4. Once you are there, you will need to enter in the port start & finish range, whether it is a TCP or UDP port, the name you want to give this setting and the IP address of the computer you are forwarding the port to. Make sure any apply check boxes are checked. Click save and that should do it.

For exact instructions on your particular router please check with your manufacturer. Below are some common ports for certain applications (All are TCP unless stated otherwise):

VPN 1723
Remote Desktop 3389
VNC 5900
FTP 21 This is only if you are running your own FTP server
PCAnywhere TCP 5631 UDP 5632

Please also keep in mind any game in which you want to play over the Internet will have its specific port that will need to be opened up. Another note is if you are using any kind of download program, like Bittorent, and your downloads are really slow the most likely cause is the port is being blocked.

How E-Mail Marketing Will Better Your Business

Are you sick of dealing with the increase in postal stamps, lost mail or return addresses? You can eliminate these problems with the use of email marketing. With this system you will save your business time and money by acquiring a new source for contacting your clientele. Email marketing is instant, digital and an inexpensive. The following three points will give you confidence when changing to e-mail marketing.

Benefit From Instant Contact

After you have postmarked all your letters, waited patiently for the postal person and then waited days for them to be delivered, you begin to wonder when or if they were received. You can end the agony and the long process of postal mail with electronic e-mail. This Internet system is instant and arrives in seconds to minutes, allowing clients to respond quicker. In addition, if an e-mail address is incorrect or non-existent you know immediately with a returned address failure.

Be Digitally Interactive

With e-mail marketing everything that is sent to your clients is digital. Your promotions can be more colorful and informational. Email marketing turns your print images into electronic media, compiled of endless graphics and text. With this system you can refer clients to other helpful websites and guide them to action. You will no longer use all the ink in your printer.

Save Time and Money Now

Take a minute to think about the thousands of dollars that are put into printing hard-copy marketing materials. Not only are you paying for the paper and ink, but also the stamps and envelopes. E-mail marking will save you thousands by getting rid of those materials you once saw as necessities. Those materials and others become obsolete when using digital media.

Now you can invest more time into designing your e-mail campaign. Deadlines become less stressful because you don’t have to figure in postal service delivery times. Also you get rid of timely printing and stamping.

Advance your business by eliminating paper marketing. With email marketing you can contact clients immediately and quickly, incorporate digital imaging and text, while saving time and money.

America Needs a Fresh Face

One lesson that I’ve drawn from the 2008 Presidential campaign is that America needs a fresh face. As much as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama may try to portray themselves as agents of change, they so monopolize the media spotlight that many of us have already grown weary of them and their rhetoric.

If Americans want positive change, they should look to someone other than the political media darlings. They should look to Duncan Hunter. (Full disclosure: I’ve recently begun consulting with Hunter for his internet campaign.)

If you do not live on the West Coast and you’re not a seasoned observer of Congress, you might well be asking, “Duncan Who?” But in this political season, it is a distinct advantage to not be part of the media-appointed old guard.

If you’re concerned about national security, Duncan Hunter should be your guy. For more than a quarter century, he has worked diligently to ensure that America has a military it can be proud of. He knows first-hand the importance of a strong military, having served in Vietnam. As part of the House Armed Services Committee, Hunter has worked diligently to ensure that our military is well-equipped to defend America and its interests anywhere in the world.

Hunter is also well-equipped to take on the challenge of dealing with our nation’s immigration problems. While he has a heart for the plight of immigrants, he realizes that America’s borders must be secure for the safety and well-being of all our citizens. He sees illegal immigration for what it is-a dangerous practice which represents a primary threat to our national security.

Duncan Hunter is a true-blue conservative who puts the Republicans-In-Name-Only candidates to shame. Visit his website and you’ll quickly see that he is no shrinking violet when it comes to one of the most contentious issues of our day-legal abortion. Hunter states, “I would amend the U.S. Constitution and provide blanket protection to all unborn children from the moment of conception by prohibiting any state or federal law that denies the personhood of the unborn.”

Hunter has also introduced legislation known as the “Right to Life Act,” which he says would “legally define ‘personhood’ as the moment of conception and, therefore, guarantee all constitutional rights and protections, including life, to the unborn without utilizing a constitutional amendment.” Hunter has also co-sponsored legislation which would bar someone from transporting a minor across state lines to obtain an abortion…prohibit reproductive cloning…and require abortionists to let pregnant women know that children aborted 20 weeks after conception can feel pain. If he can feel the pain of the unborn child, Hunter fits my definition of a “compassionate conservative.”

Hunter is also committed to helping to preserve and protect the American family through his support of a Constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union between one man and one woman. As Hunter simply yet eloquently states, “I firmly believe that children need the unique influence offered by both a father and a mother.”

And, unlike some of the spendaholics who are currently seeking the White House, Hunter is truly committed to a balanced federal budget-one crafted according to the philosophy of economic growth rather than tax-and-spend liberalism.

Despite lacking the war chest of a McCain or a Giuliani, Duncan Hunter may yet prove to be the dark horse candidate in the Republican primary. Hunter won the Arizona straw poll, and then went on to edge out Romney for third place in the South Carolina poll. It may be early to make predictions, but Hunter’s candidacy seems to have touched off genuine excitement in conservative circles.

Duncan Hunter may not have the best name recognition in the Presidential pack-but, after a careful review of all the candidates, their backgrounds and positions, I firmly believe he is the one who deserves the most attention.

History of Job Search

Online recruitment started almost the same time in the USA and in England in the early
90’s with providers like Monster.com in the USA, Jobserve.com in the UK and
Allstarjobs.ca (started in 1997). A job bank at that time merely had a few thousand of open job positions and the chance of putting employers in touch with jobseekers was quite remote.

Since those early days, we have seen an explosion of job search sites and the technology has
improved a lot for the benefit of both, recruiters and jobseekers. Nowadays, typing “Job Search” in search fields of Google or Yahoo, you get millions of pages dealing with this subject.

Now we have a new problem: how not to get lost in this jungle of ultimate Career and Job
Search Services (of which many require an inscription fee). What do we really want? Using the Internet in first place has the advantage of speed and the possibility to look in any geographical area for the required job that the candidate is qualified for, or aspires to. With the Internet installed at home,
it is possible to investigate the potential employers, ask questions and apply for the position, without even taking off your pajamas.

How do we explain the recent evolution in online recruitment technology? Even if you feel relatively
satisfied with the current search offerings of top job search engines like Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com or Hotjobs.com, there are still many doors open for improvements and a lot of research is going on in the field of vertical engines, meaning-based search, intent-driven search, new clustering methods, and much more.

All-in-One Job Search Engines

A recent trend in job search engines is the emergence of all-in-one or metasearch engines
(sometimes also referred as vertical job search engines), allowing jobseekers to search across multiple websites. Among the most popular engines are Indeed (in the USA), Wowjobs (in Canada) and Trovit (in the UK).

Probably the most powerful of all is Indeed, which was founded by Paul Forster and his partner Rony Kahan in the year 2004 to cover the US job market. According to Hitwise data, Indeed saw its market share increase by 302% in the year 2006 and this only seems to be the beginning. The success of Indeed and other metasearch or all-in-one search engines is the fact that job seekers can go to one place to find all jobs, overcoming the limitation of the job boards, which have a finite number of listings. A simple comparison of mayor job search engines reveals that there is no need any more to look in all the individual engines to find the best fits for the job you are looking for. There are more job sites than you can count, ranging from the top job sites like Monster and CareerBuilder to small, niche sites in just about every career field you can imagine. Indeed is searching in more than 1200 engines at a time and brings you the result in seconds on your screen. With a couple of clicks of your mouse, you search the major job sites, company sites, associations, and other online job sites by keyword and location to get job listings that match the criteria you selected. With it’s high-tech search strategy, Indeed clearly leaves behind other so-called meta-job search engines like Jobster and SimpyHired. With Wowjobs and Trovit, metasearch engines focused on the Canadian and UK job market respectively, the situation is very similar.

Posting your resume in Recruitment Services

A developing trend with both jobs search engines and jobs boards is that many now encourage
users to post their resume or CV together with contact details. The fact is, it`s proven that posting your resume in a proactive way in the mayor resume distribution systems will put it on the desk of hundreds of recruiters and can more than double the chance of getting a job!

The advantages of Resume Posting are:

- You more than double your chance of getting “discovered” by a recruiter who is looking for a person with exactly your experience and abilities.

- You put your resume in the hands of hundreds of recruiters, almost instantly!

- You are sending your resume only to recruiters focusing on your specific industry or job categories.

- You save a lot of time and money and you get an instant edge - with only little effort from your part!

- Your resume is passing a pre-selection system and when it comes on the desk of hiring managers they will read it very carefully.

Resume posting has become an attractive business for the recruitment companies as they sell the access to their resume bank to headhunters and recruiting managers. Anyhow, jobseekers should be aware of the risks of uploading personal information to the Internet since they have no control over what will happen with their data and their resume might be seen by their current employer or even by “identity thefts”.

Take a breath and slow down
The question is still if all the improvements in search technology also improved the overall performance of recruitment efforts. Finding a job still is hard work. It is very helpful to slow down, take time, and analyze if you are happy with your current situation and what career is really right for you. In our modern world, the best job success is earning good money with work that gives you a sense of purpose, expresses your talents and passions, and is consistent with your values. A lack of many Job Search Sites is that they do not assist the jobseekers in finding their best career fit and even confusing people in trying to evaluate their current situation. Job searching is a short-term pursuit of a position that matches your financial and career goals. Career planning is a long, progressive process of choosing education, training, and jobs that fit your interests and skills. This planning process also includes the evaluation of career change or self-employment opportunities. Deciding what type of work you want to pursue requires knowledge and understanding of your interests, your values, your motivation, and the skills you enjoy using the most. This is helpful whether you are choosing a career for the first time or changing careers for the twenty-first time. The Two-Approach Guide for Effective and Easy Job Search is intended to guide jobseekers through this process instead of simply offering hundreds of links
without explanation and leading to confusion. One aspect that even the most powerful Job Search engine cannot cover is the fact that probably the majority of job vacancies are never posted in journals, newspapers or on-line and you only find them using the right contacts or your Network.
This “hidden job market” only can be exploited by keeping focus on people who have experiences, and contacts that might be interesting for you.
Good possibilities to build up your Network, are for example job fairs or similar events where you meet hiring managers, job lead sources and other valuable contacts.

Conclusions
Using state-of-the art job search engines, online recruitment has become a powerful tool for a fast, efficient and economical job search and the performance is improving constantly. But every jobseeker should be aware of the fact that even the most powerful job search engine should be considered only as a single tool in the Job Search Strategy and that still most jobs are found using personal Networks. Finding a job is all about people, the people you know, and people you meet who have the job information and who will inevitably help you get a job.
Online Job Search using all-in-one or metasearch engines definitely makes life much easier but should not be overestimated.

Dish Network and Direct TV are both nationally based satellite television companies that have been awarded the JD Power and Associates award for customer satisfaction. Both of their satellite services are known for their low prices, large amounts of programming, and advanced technology. Though each company has a different selection of programming packages and specialty programming, they both use the latest satellite and television technology to provide customers with good television entertainment.

Depending on your needs, you will probably find that one of the satellite television companies works better for you than the other. For instance, if you really want to watch sports programming, Direct TV has a few more choices than Dish Network. Dish Network, however, has more high definition (HD) television and more foreign language programming. If any of these types of programming matter a lot to you, your decision will probably be made by which company offers the most of your preferred programming. However, if you are looking for only basic entertainment and high quality equipment, you’ll probably do best comparing the specials that each company runs on its programming and equipment. Dish Network has lower prices. You can find the latest technologies like DVRs and high definition receivers through either company and you can also access over 250 channels through either company. Prices on the programming packages differ, however, and depending on which equipment and the number of channels you want to receive, one company might seem a better choice than the other. Dish Network tends to offer slightly better deals.

Dish Network’s and Direct TV’s programming packages are fairly similar in the amount of programming they offer, though Direct TV’s most basic packages is larger than that of Dish Network. For instance, the smallest package of Dish Network is the America’s Top 100. Direct TV’s smallest package is Total Choice, which has 140 channels. The roles reverse at the next level with Dish Network offering America’s Top 200 and Direct TV offering the 185 channel Total Choice Xtra. Both companies have special packages at this middle level that include DVR service. Direct TV also has a package at this level that includes HDTV.

When you get to the largest packages, both companies’ packages contain 250 channels. Direct TV’s Total Choice Premier package has the premium movie channels of Starz, Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax. It also includes a Sports Pak with programming like Comcast SportsNet, ESPNU, Fox Sports Network, and Sun Sports. Dish Network’s America’s Top 250 contains 250 channels also, but you do not get the premium movie channels unless you subscribe to an even larger package, the America’s Everything Pak. Dish Network also does not include a sports package in with its programming. You can, however, subscribe to the MultiSport package, which contains much of the same programming as the Sports Pak, with any of the larger packages.

Each company has similar quality services, with the ability to access features like electronic program guides, parental controls, interactive television, and high definition television. Corollary services differ between the two companies with Direct TV offering Total Choice Mobile, a satellite television packages that can be accessed from any road in America, and Dish Network offering the PocketDish, a small and portable entertainment device meant to allow users to download programming from any Dish Network receiver. Dish Network also offers Dish on Demand, an interactive Pay Per view service that makes it possible to watch movies at your own pace and on your own schedule.

Customer Satisfaction

Dish Network Satellite TV is ranked at the top in customer satisfaction among all the cable television & satellite TV providers.

Direct TV is ranked second in customer satisfaction among all the cable television & satellite providers.

Direct TV vs Dishnetwork — The Bottom Line

The customer service and level of technology is similar with both satellite companies so it is impossible to make a poor choice when choosing between them. Just look for the programming package and price that most appeals to you and you will get high quality satellite entertainment with great values. Which Search Engine Marketing Tool Is The Best For You?

You created a website for your business and filled it with a lot of useful information. Great! Now you must get your website recognized and popularized on the World Wide Web index. In doing so you have three major options, they are: Organic search optimization, Paid Inclusions and Pay-Per-Click. These three web-marketing tools are a great way to get started and get identified. So you may ask, what exactly are these three Search Engine Marketing tools?

Organic Search Engine

If you like free, then Organic Search Engine Marketing is for you. Organics are found on the left side of the page and are ranked by keyword results. For example, if you search Google for ice cream the links that appear on the page are those with the keyword “ice cream” on the page a high number of times. Also, if a page has internal links with the keyword those will be included in the ranking.

Search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Dogpile are constantly changing their algorithms. These are specialized computing data structures or recipes that find the best websites that represent the keywords a user searches for. Other common names for algorithms are crawler or spider.

Organic Search Engines are the most trusted marketing search engine tool. This is because they are free and businesses are not influencing the search results by buying a spot. Organic results also portray a level of importance when the top 10 results appear.

Paid Inclusion

If you are willing to pay for a spot then paid inclusions are for you. These work as such: you pay money for a site indexed in the search engine, which is organized in a priority queue or organized sequence. Your link stays indexed as long as your pay for the subscription. This does not promise a particular ranking.

As stated above these are not as credible as the organic search results, but they do get your page, name, and material out on the results pages.

Pay-Per-Click

These links appear on the right side of the search engine results pages and are under the title “Sponsored Links.” These are advertisements and the businesses that pay for them get charged every time someone clicks on the advertisement. Pay-Per-Click links are also linked to keywords, meaning the link appears when the keyword is typed into the search engine.

The biggest decision when choosing a television service provider is deciding whether to go with satellite television or cable TV. Cable TV Providers tend to be a hassle and charge more than satellite. Depending on your viewing habits and your interests, you might find that either Direct TV or Dish Network is the better choice for you. Having plenty of information about what each company offers is the best way to make the right choice.

When you choose your television service provider, you probably look for a combination of value (price) and programming choices. If you are interested in a particular service such as high definition television or international programming, you also look for plenty of choices. When it comes to satellite television you will find some subtle and some not-so-subtle differences that might sway your opinion.

Both Dish Network and Direct TV have really good values and low prices for the level of programming. However, depending on what type of programming you are looking for and what type of equipment you need, you might find that one company is a much better value. For instance, right now Direct TV is offering their Total Choice Plus package with DVR service for $49.99. This includes a free DVR, over 185 channels, andn locals. Dishnetwork has a DVR package that includes free installation, free DVRs and 200 channels for $39.99 each month. This package also includes one premium movie channel. Depending on your viewing needs, either of these packages might be the better choice. Dish Network tends to offer slightly better deals.

When it comes to basic entertainment, both Direct TV and Dish Network have you covered. Each company gives you the most viewed channels like Cartoon Network, CNN, Lifetime, and TNT. However, each company includes the channels in different packages. For instance, you get Animal Planet with Direct TV’s smallest television package but you don’t get it through Dish Network until you’ve reached the middle-level package. When it comes to premium movie channels, each company also has a different way of providing these to customers. Dish Network lets you add them to any programming package or get all four premium movie packages along with over 250 channels in the America’s Everything Pak. Direct TV includes four premium movie packages in its Total Choice Premier package, which also includes DVR service.

Both Direct TV and Dish Network throw many extras in with their programming packages. Direct TV includes locals and XM satellite radio in with every package. Larger packages have more satellite radio stations, but even the smallest one has many dozen. Dish Network gives you Sirius satellite radio instead, but also includes it with every programming package. Each company has a large variety of Pay Per View movies and events, though Dish Network also has Dish on Demand programming.

When it comes to high definition television, both satellite providers can give you access that can be added on to any package. Dish Network gives its HDTV channels only as an add-on, but Direct TV offers Total Choice Plus HD which combines the 185 channels of Choice Xtra with all of the company’s high definition channels. Right now Direct TV has about 11 HDTV channels plus locals where available. Dish Network has an undeniably larger HDTV selection with over 31 channels available, plus locals and some HD Pay Per View.

Either satellite company can offer you the clear quality of digital television and the convenience of features like the electronic program guides, interactive television, and software upgrades via satellite. They also both have exceptionally advanced technologies that allow customers extremely high quality viewing experiences.

Customer Satisfaction

Dish Network Satellite TV is ranked at the top in customer satisfaction among all the cable television & satellite TV providers.

Direct TV is ranked second in customer satisfaction among all the cable television & satellite providers.

Dish Network vs Directv Promotions — The Bottom Line

The customer service and level of technology is similar with both satellite companies so it is impossible to make a poor choice when choosing between them. Just look for the programming package and price that most appeals to you and you will get high quality satellite entertainment with great values. Both companies are currently offering special HDTV and DVR deals. Tired of hassles with Cable TV? Switch your home entertainment to satellite TV. Randall, a nineteen year old college sophomore, was standing in line at a local department store recently when he was propositioned with a phrase that has become common place in United States vernacular: “Would you like to save fifteen percent on your purchase today?” When Randall said “yes,” the clerk asked him to fill out a form which authorized the company to pull a copy of his credit report. Randall knew that he had never had credit before, so he assumed that he had a perfect score. You can imagine his surprise when the application came back denied. Randall was perplexed, but did not give it much thought at the time.

One week later, Randall received a formal notice in the mail of the denial, but what he found most puzzling was the stated reason; lack of current credit history. It seemed contradictory that he would need credit in order to get credit, but, for most lenders, that is exactly what is required. There are several expressions of this requirement, and also several ways to deal with it in daily life.

The most important thing to know about the requirement to have pre-existing credit history deals specifically with revolving lines of credit. As much as thirty percent of a credit score can be based on the ratio of the limits on open credit cards versus the current outstanding balances. Generally, any balance over fifty percent on a single card or the overall limit to balance ratio can trigger a remark that is viewed almost as negatively as a late payment. For individuals with little or no credit history, the ratio can easily be not applicable, automatically losing the ability to gain points, or in the case of someone with a 200 dollar limit card, be a ratio of zero, causing a substantial drop in credit score.

There are multitudes of ways to overcome these problems for consumers. The ideal start to a credit history is to obtain two major credit cards in good standing. Major credit cards include Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Diner’s Club, and Carte Blanche. It may be necessary to begin with a low limit or secured card, but there are a number of lenders, including Citibank, Discover, and Chase, who have excellent programs actually designed for college students, but that can be effective in establishing history for anyone with limited credit experience. It is also in the best interest of consumers to use the cards as sparingly as possible and pay them off in full at the end of each month. There is a common misconception that creditors want to see balances since that indicates income through interest and fees for them, but when it comes to establishing a good credit score, zero balances on high limit cards will always more than anything else.

Another repercussion of the requirement to have credit is the value or hindrance of having a mix of financial history. Commonly, there are two types of credit: revolving and installment. Creditors like to not only see that revolving credit is being properly managed, but also that installment lines of credit have been obtained and kept current. Installment lines of credit include big ticket items like student loans, mortgages, and automotive loans. Having at least one of these on the report is considered a strong start, especially if the outstanding balance is eighty percent or less of the originally financed amount. A first mortgage can also be a great boost for credit scores. Many times, these accounts are first obtained with the assistance of a friend or relative.

With the importance of credit in modern society, it is sometimes unavoidable to think outside the box when considering the future. One of the potential ways to start building a score is to get added as a joint holder or authorized user on to existing revolving accounts of friends or family members with a strong financial standing. As long as the card is held only by the primary owner, there is very little risk associated with this. Some banks will also issue a credit card with a limit equal to an amount held in a savings account, thereby helping a novice establish history, and mitigating any risk associated with lending to an inexperienced borrower. Bank of America has a great secured card program in this vein.

For installment loans, it is also often possible to begin a history by taking out a small loan, say 500 dollars, from a bank where a relationship already exists. Since a savings or checking account is already in existence, there is a better chance for approval. Also, having a friend or family member with established history cosign for a student loan or automobile can allow the records of one person to positively impact the history of someone else. The one drawback about cosigning is that a late payment made by the beginner could seriously impact the cosigner’s credit.

These are but a few of the pit-falls and solutions that can directly impact the financial resources available to credit new comers like Randall. The most important thing to remember is that it takes credit to get credit, so having a good start can make an enormous difference towards the long term financial prospects of an untested borrower.
