The Benefits Of Indoor Tanning

Indoor tanning has become increasingly popular over the last few years. Look in just about any shopping center these days and you can find an indoor tanning salon. Why are they so popular? Keep reading this article and learn about the benefits of indoor tanning and why you should give it a shot.

The number one benefit of indoor tanning is that it is convenient. You can get the benefits of spending hours in the sun in just a few minutes. No one these days has time to spend baking in the sun. You can get the appearance of a hard earned suntan in just a couple 10 minute visits a week. You can always look like you just returned from a Caribbean vacation.

Another advantage of indoor tanning is privacy. With traditional suntans you will have to go to the beach or hang out by the pool in next to nothing and sit for hours. With indoor tanning salons you get to sit in a private room and tan without the prying eyes of passer bys or neighbors. This privacy means you can even tan without a suit to prevent tan lines. Try that at the beach and you will end up getting arrested or will at least wind up with a big ticket.

A third benefit of indoor tanning is that it is a good way to prevent sunburns. When you tan in a tanning booth you can carefully meter your exposure. You can start out slow and increase the time in the booth slowly. This means that you will not get a sunburn. When you tan outside it can be hard to tell when you get too much sunlight.

As you can see there are many benefits of tanning indoors. If they sound good you should find a local tanning salon and give it a try. You won’t regret it.

Skin Rejuvenation Benefits

Skin Rejuvenation
Uneven skin tone, sagging, and sun damage: three common problems for skin that don’t have answers in a bottle. Even moisturizing, drinking eight cups of water daily, and using SPF products - all hallmarks of good skin care - aren’t enough to stave off sags and wrinkles from aging, the rough texture of sun damage and scars, or a blotchy complexion. These effects can be counteracted with skin rejuvenation procedures which offer balanced technology to brighten and bring out healthier, rejuvenated skin.

  • Discoloration
FotoFacial combines sessions with an intense pulsed light and radio frequency device with microdermabrasion facials. The light/RF energy treatments focus on and lighten pigments in the skin like sun spots and age spots, while the microdermabrasion exposes the treated skin.
  • Sagging and wrinkles
Skin tightening treatments use alternating pulses of infrared heat and radio frequency to deep-heat tissue, boost collagen to lift, and tighten the surface skin.
  • Damaged skin
There is laser skin resurfacing, which uses a strong, specially filtered laser to penetrate beneath the skin and triggers a healing response in the lower layers of the skin. The developing skin naturally heals and lessens visible skin damage and scarring.

FotoFacial ®
Little things - large pores, acne scars, uneven skin tone - add up to make skin look dull and unhealthy. FotoFacial ® skin rejuvenation treatments even out skin color, decrease pore size and fine lines, and exfoliates to expose healthier skin.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) energy is attracted to color, including skin pigments, and lightens that color in the skin, which improves things like freckling or the redness from. The IPL is alternated with radio frequency (RF), a stronger energy heightens the effect of the IPL on pigments. RF also produces heat, which causes the skin to contract and repair itself, which tightens skin and shrinks pores.

The full skin rejuvenation routine combines the light treatments with microdermabrasion, a deep exfoliating therapy which uses tiny crystals to buff skin clean and smooth. Microdermabrasion sloughs off the dull surface skin to expose the newly treated skin. Regular semiannual treatments maintain that effect, even if factors that cause discoloration - like smoking or sunbathing - continue.

Skin Tightening
Another area of skin rejuvenation improves sagging and wrinkles by increasing collagen production and using heat to cause skin to contract and appear tighter. Infrared light and RF energy penetrate and heat skin tissues. As with FotoFacial, this signals the skin to repair itself; the increased heat energy (infrared and RF) means that there is more of a healing response. The deep-tissue heat also boosts collagen production, which fills in wrinkles and firms sagging skin naturally. This kind of skin rejuvenation offers long-term benefits for firming sagging skin and wrinkles, with effects lasting as long as two years before needing maintenance.

Solutions for Skin Damage
For more extensive skin damage, the problem is texture, so the leathery look of sun damage or the roughness of scars needs a special approach. A new method of skin rejuvenation provides a non-chemical way to soften and smooth skin texture: Laser skin resurfacing using a fractional laser.

In laser skin resurfacing, a specialized laser penetrates deep into the tissue and injures the skin, which signals the tissue to heal itself, which repairs existing damage both on the surface skin (for immediate improvements in skin tone) and beneath the skin (to visibly lessen scars and damage). The laser is as strong as a chemical peel, and, at full impact, could cause similar blistering. A cap on the instrument filters the laser so that only tiny spots of skin are exposed to the laser, like water through a sieve. Enough of the laser is blocked that only about a quarter of the treatment area is actually treated, and the surrounding skin is untouched. This makes the healing process faster after each session, with only some redness and tenderness. After about five sessions, the entire area is treated. It can cause some lingering redness or discomfort, simply because of the method that triggers the healing process, but this usually only lasts one or two days. Once the treatment course (about five monthly sessions) is complete, the skin rejuvenation can take up to two years.

American Laser Hair Removal provides professional laser hair removal services performed by specially trained staff for a painless, long lasting hair removal solution.

Allergy Free Dogs - They’re Nothing to Sneeze At!

Allergy free dogs are a great solution for would be dog owners that have allergies. Many dog lovers that thought they would never be able to own a dog because of the uncontrollable symptoms to pet dander, may not have considered a hypoallergenic dog. A small number of dog breeds are considered hypoallergenic, meaning they do not cause allergic reactions, either because they shed only small amounts of hair or because their dog dander is not allergy producing.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a non-allergenic dog or a non-shedding dog, a common misconception by some owners with allergy problems that purchase dogs believing they will be cured of dog dander issues.

Although the amount of allergy producing dander will be reduced with a hypoallergenic dog, owners still need to go through a regular routine to ensure that pet dander from pet hair is removed from their environment. It is important to recognize that it isn’t the pet hair itself causing the allergic reaction, but the dander that comes off when the dog shedding occurs. Dogs that make little to no dander are the dogs that are considered hypoallergenic dogs and will be best suited for a home with someone who is allergy sensitive.

What Causes Dog Allergies…

As previously noted, it is not the actual dog or even the hair of the dog, but the dander that flakes off the skin and causes allergies. Unfortunately, this dander can easily be carried throughout the house when it attaches to the hair of the dog, falls onto the floor, couches or beds of a home, causing potential allergens to be spread throughout the home.

Keep in mind that many humans with allergies will make the mistake of buying a hairless dog or a short-haired dog thinking they will produce less allergens than a long-haired breed. This is not always the case. In fact, some medium to long-haired dogs produce little to no dander, while other short haired dogs produce a lot of dander. Remember that all dogs produce dander, it is just that some produce a great deal less than others.

Tips for Reducing Pet Allergens…

1. Purchase a high suction vacuum that can quickly and effectively remove almost all pet dander from the home. Use this on a daily to weekly basis as needed.

2. Find a large air purifier that can be used in the main areas of the house. Keep the air purifier running at all times in order to effectively reduce dander. Remember to clean the purifier on a regular basis as well.

3. Brush your pet 2-3 times a day. Give dogs a bath at least once a week to remove excess dander. Do this outside so that dander will not collect in part of the home.

4. Limit dog access to your sleeping and sitting areas. Regularly wash sheets, curtains, pillow covers, table clothes and any other removable upholstery covers.

With the growth of E-books and on-line books, having a well designed cover is even more important. The web surfer can quickly have tens if not hundreds of books at their fingertips, but why should they select your book over another? Without spending many dollars in marketing, one of the best tools at your disposal is a cover that will get their attention and hopefully pique their interest to make a purchase. If you are writing on a topic that already has many similar topics, such as “Vegetable Gardening”, you have to compete even more for the consumers dollars.

You could purchase the different graphics tools of go off to a company to design your cover for you. Most of the covers that you are familiar with in a book store cost hundreds of dollars to design, and in some cases thousands. Now whether you are writing 10 pages or 5000 pages, this article will give you some basic ideas that will help you design your next book cover into one that is different, unique and personal. Remember that a well done book cover will boost your sales.

Designing A Cover For Your Book

- A guide for self publishers -

You have already expressed your creative side by writing a book, now lets express your artistic side. By using a collection of clip art, or a low cost digital camera coupled with some imagination can open the door for you to create unique cover that portrays your writings. Even with that saying, “You can’t tell a book by its cover”, the cover definitely gets attention. Think of the book cover as a marketing tool that promotes not only your book, but you as the author.

Software packages like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator have many capabilities that allow you to customize your pictures and illustrations. The question often asked is; “What should I do?” The intent of this article is to give you a few ideas to spark your creativity and see what fits your personality. Our focus has been on pet and automotive art, so we will use an automotive car show judging guide as an example, although these ideas can be applied to many other topics.

With E-Books and on-line publications, having an elaborate cover is a one time upfront cost since there is no printing involved, so it is worth it to do it right since the book revenue in part will be dependent upon the cover.

Publishers for hard copied books have the ability to use different papers, and cover media such as foil, and other eye catching materials. On-line publishing has to leverage the graphics appeal to grab the readers eye and entice them to read further. A brief list of tips to consider when designing your book cover is as follows:

1.-Always try to use high resolution images (clear and crisp) for any initial artwork. You can always lower the resolution later on.

2.-As an author, if you expect to have multiple books you may wish to have a common theme where there may be a similar layout or border between books. Define your own brand identity.

3.-Design your a layout with layers giving a three dimensional effect. For example the palm tree in the background of the “Pet Photography Book Example”.

4.-Some customers will also print out their book, so you want a design that is printable, and will still look good. Make sure that what ever resolution you use is sufficient for printing. Typically 150 DPI will work unless there is intricate details that may require higher resolution.

5.-For best versatility and color representation use RGB color specifications versus CMYK.

6.-Hard copied books use different cover effects to catch the readers eyes, such as fabrics, and embossing. You want to obtain a similar visual effect, so use different background textures to give a feel like cloth, diamond plate, fabric with out them being too pronounced. Select something that relates to the content. One example we used was a diamond plate border for an automotive engine book. The rugged diamond plate linked nicely to the bold metal engines.

7.-Remember your target audience. If it is children, select clip art that they can relate to. For hobbyist, try to incorporate some aspect of the hobby on the cover.

8.-Do not clutter the cover too much with images or text. It can make it difficult to read on line.

Use visual effects that reflect the contents and the value it brings to the reader. A consumer is more likely to purchase a book f they perceive the value more than the cost. Your cover needs to reflect the value, but it is equally important that the contents justify the cover. Do not mislead the reader. A judging book we have done has a trophy in the background implying if you follow the advice in the book, you could have a trophy on your shelf. Or the pet photography cover where it tells he reader it will help them create a picture like the one on the cover. These are things that have a tangible feel to them that reflects value. Many of the books we sold were purchased as a gift. The giver wants to make the receiver happy, and wants confirmation that it’s a great gift and often looks for a smile. When someone sees your cover you want them to smile.

This value in a cover that gets attention is dependent upon how well the design is done, and what message it gets across.

Marketing studies have show that having a catchy box or cover for a product sells more products, so take the ideas presented here and sell some books.

7. Final Remarks On Designing Your Book Cover

Even though we are only presenting a few examples and ideas, you should realize that like the words you have written on the pages, the book cover is an extension of the writers personality. As long as basic principles are adhered to, there is no right or wrong way, as long as the message gets across. Accurate representation of the books contents along with a cover that is memorable are two of the keys to make your book stand out.

Competition for consumers will continue to increase as more titles compete with yours. Look at what other authors have done and open your imagination and embark on the first step to create yours. By utilizing the tips here you are one step closer.

So to get started, take what you have learned here, finish your book and get a cover designed.

Ken Navarro “Meeting Place” Smooth Jazz Music CD Review

Meeting Place is the latest release from Smooth Jazz Sensation Ken Navarro, and is another winner from this talented musician.

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

Meeting Place has a pleasantly varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are his own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Smooth Jazz isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

Overall Meeting Place is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Smooth Jazz fan. Really spectacular from beginning to end.

While the entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 3, I Wish I Knew, track 5, My Beautiful Girls, track 8, Just Like That
