There are many people attempting to make money on the Internet. Many of them are unaware that one of the most effective ways to generate targeted traffic is free. Your cost is primarily your time.
The Internet is the main source of information for many people. These people are constantly gathering information for their personal use or their business. Many are looking for content for their websites, ezines, and blogs. There are numerous excellent free articles available from authors with first hand experience concerning various topics. There is a tremendous amount of information available about almost anything under the sun.
The authors of these various articles are putting their time and effort into writing for a few reasons. These free articles can generate substantial traffic and exposure for the authors, their websites, and businesses.
One article can spread literally to hundreds and even thousands of websites very quickly around the world by Internet. Ezine publishers and webmasters are on a continuous search for new content to publish for their readers. Because of this, authors are exposed to a very large number of people who can generate substantial targeted traffic. It gives credibility to the author and exposure to her website.
One of the keys to successfully generating traffic with your article is the resource box. This is a section that appears at the end of the article. It’s your chance to include a few lines about you the author, and equally important, a link to your website. An example appears at the end of this article.
It’s surprising to many people how writing articles can generate so much targeted traffic. In a relative short period of time your name starts to appear in search engines. You then become known as an expert in your field. Many “one-way” links are created back to your website, which helps your rankings with the search engines. As people read your articles, it’s very likely they’ll want to know more about you, and/or your business.
This is what the links in your resource box are for. It’s also important to have a statement like the following: You have permission to republish and use this article in your newsletter,website,or blog as long as you leave the article fully intact and include the resource box at the end of the article.
This informs people and encourages them to reproduce your article and use it in their newsletter, website or blog. All of which provides you with more Internet exposure and more targeted traffic.
Writing articles could be the missing link in your current marketing strategies to generate targeted traffic. In some of the future articles I’ll soon be writing, I’ll explain how to get started writing articles for those that have some doubt about their ability to write. I’ll also cover how to get your articles on the Internet for the widest distribution. There are article submission services, or the distribution can be done manually. Manually takes more time of course (however it’s free). Personally I had rather use that time for writing.
