Yoga Clothes Need To Move With You, Your Favorite Jeans Will Not Do It

A pair of jeans and a button up shirt and the full lotus position is not a pretty picture and worse still, if you do get there, getting back to your start position could be worse. Your normal street clothes are not what you want when practicing the art of yoga. Your body builds up in flexibility while you are doing yoga and so must your clothes. They must be able to move with your body and the more advanced you get with your yoga positions, the more movement you need in your clothes.

To start, you don’t need to go out and buy yoga specific clothes, you could even have suitable pieces in your wardrobe already. It is so important that you practice your yoga in something that you are comfortable in when performing the various positions. Your yoga clothes need to support, move with the body, not ride up leaving bare skin exposed to the elements.

You will probably find there are clothes in your wardrobe that will suffice for the first few weeks and then when you decide you are going to continue with the yoga lessons, with some guidance from your instructor, you should seek the yoga clothes that will be suitable.

What To Look For When Shopping For Yoga Clothes.

When you are looking for yoga clothes, keep in mind the primary purpose of what you will need the yoga clothes to achieve for you. You will need the clothes to move with you in a myriad of positions and poses so the fabric will need to have a softness and flow to it, with body.

There are many fabrics on the market today that would be suitable, there is French terry, which is like a soft knit and not at all like terry toweling, many of the knits are suitable as long as they are not too heavy and some of the micro fibers would be excellent too.

You also want a fabric that doesn’t crease and is low maintenance. Hand washing is a big no-no, you need to be able to wash your yoga clothes in your washing machine. Make sure they can be tumbled dried too. That way if you are practicing yoga every day, you will not need so many yoga clothes to get you through the week.

We are really spoilt for choice these days. With the specialist sporting stores and so many wonderful brands available for all types of sport, finding suitable yoga clothing will not be a problem, finding what you are happy with, should also be easier. You don’t need to just look at the clothes made especially for yoga practicing, the gym clothing can be excellent. The sports back tee shirts are excellent for yoga clothes, as they don’t restrict your arm movements. These are the things to look for and don’t be shy about doing some stretches and bends when trying on the various styles, you won’t know if they will work for you if you don’t.

With the new technologies today, fabrics will keep the body cooler while exercising, there are fabrics actually keeps the body dry by absorbing the perspiration and keeping it away from the body. You may not think yoga will bring up a sweat, maybe not as much as an aerobic workout, but yoga still works the body.

There is another consideration for your yoga clothing. If you are handy with the sewing machine, you could make your own. Try on a few yoga outfits, find the style of yoga clothes that suit you then source out your fabric, pattern and a few hours later you will have a new wardrobe of yoga clothes.

There is also the Internet to check out. Online yoga stores will give you a good guide as to what to look for and if you are not near a suitable local store, then the online stores are a great option. They are also a good place to find what is available and what to look for when you do go shopping.

As nothing is cast in stone, you basically need yoga clothes that, move with you to the yoga poses, postures and positions when practicing your yoga.

Why Irrelevant Information Is Vital To Your Resume

One of the strongest opinions that most people have about resumes, is that the information within them must be “relevant.” It turns out, however, that many jobseekers, and even resume writers, are leaving off items that could have propelled their resumes to the top of the pile and resulted in a successful job search.

As an experienced, certified, and accomplished resume writer, a key function of my job is to conduct in-depth information-gathering sessions with jobseekers to gain insights into their careers that will be effective on their resumes. Time and time again, when inquiring into various specifics, I hear, “Oh, don’t put that in, it wasn’t relevant.” Or, “They don’t care about that.”

In one recent case, I was creating a resume (actually a Curriculum Vitae) for Brad, a medical student who had completed his M.D. and residency, and was applying for a highly competitive fellowship in New York that offered only two slots nationwide, with many applicants. He phoned me shortly after receiving the first draft to say that his supervising professor advised taking out the items I had inserted that described his summer camp counseling positions during his undergraduate years. The professor said, “That’s irrelevant, they don’t want to see that. Only put in your academic information.”

Based on my advice, Brad decided to keep the items about his summer camp counseling, and called me 6 weeks later to thank me, “Grant, the Director who interviewed me not only told me that he chose my C.V. because of the years of summer counseling, but he spent 10 minutes of the interview talking about it.”

It turns out the Department Director who interviewed (and later selected) Brad had two young children in a summer camp, and was anxious to learn more about how the counselors interact with the children. Incidentally, the fellowship Brad landed was in Oncology, not Pediatrics. He also expressed that he preferred fellowship candidates that not only demonstrated excellent academic and clinical accomplishments, but also had a background showing great “people skills.”

Although this is only one anecdote from thousands I have witnessed in my 14 years in the career development business, I have become convinced that it is often the “irrelevant” bit of information on a resume that catches the eye of the reader.

Choosing A Career

So many new, college freshman find themselves in an awkward position…choosing a major. These barely 19 year-old kids are asked to make a decision about what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Naturally some squander away the time undecided while others plow through some technical field without any real understanding of what career awaits them. The fact is that only one out of five students will actually continue in the field that they chose to study in college. Most students choose a major based on the amount of money they think they can make or the popularity of a particular degree plan. Their interests and passions usually take a back seat to the idea of money and popularity. But what else can we expect of our late teenagers?

The average American citizen changes career paths at least three times. Why is there so much pressure for college freshman to figure out what they want to do for the rest of their life, when odds are, they will change their minds in a few years (if not sooner). People are the most successful in their careers when they truly enjoy what they do and do a good job. It is most important to find your strengths and skills and attempt to find a job that includes those things. At nineteen, most people are not really sure what they are especially good at. They are still developing. Our educated society is much different form that of 100 years ago. People learn about many areas of study, and it takes some time to begin to distinguish what really suites someone and comes most naturally.

Finding this ultimate balance of activities you enjoy and also have the skills to perform is not any easy task. People spend their entire lives seeking this out. The important thing is to continue the search. There really is a career or job out there that is perfectly suited for everyone.

Introspection, testing, research, and trying out different careers will add insight on what that job might be. If you find yourself in a job that you hate, stop doing it and try something else. Life is too short to spend miserably working to make a few dollars. Use professional services to help you in a career change, such as counseling, career coaching, professional resume writers, and job advisers. These can help make a career change less stressful by providing the information and organization you need to find the career you want.

Finding a career should really be more about finding out who you are and what your purpose is on this earth. It is not a simple multiple-choice question that can be answered overnight, and no one should expect it to be that way. Be honest with what you want and what you can do, and the years will show what career is right for you.

Safe Online Job Searching

The computer age has changed the face of job searching tremendously. Massive job databases as well as individual company websites make it easy for jobseekers to find and contact those companies looking for new employees. Not only is locating and job matching made simpler, but submitting resumes is now an easier process as well. Cutting and pasting resumes into company forms as well as emails have negated hours of work that jobseekers once had to perform with older traditional methods of print and mail. Not only is it much faster, but job locating has become much more efficient by providing quick dialog between parties, diminishing the dreaded waiting period of hearing back from a company or employer. Though job searching has been vastly improved by the

Internet, the number of scams and frauds are also climbing rapidly. As a result, job seekers should be aware of the signs of fraud to protect themselves and their identities.

There are over 10 million identity theft cases every year, and the majority of those somehow involve the employment industry through the Internet. “Phishing” is the most popular form of identity theft where people use fraudulent emails to solicit personal information. By appearing to be legitimate and even familiar, seemingly interested job recruiters may ask for personal information. This might make some job-seekers leery of resume submitting on the internet, but a few simple scam detecting tips can keep you safe while enjoying the full benefits of job-searching online.

Any request for your personal information, especially social security number and credit card number, should be treated with extreme caution. Whether it is a job database or a financial banking system requesting personal information through email or pop-up, it could be a fraud. Most legitimate or reputable companies will not ask for this kind of information over email. There have been some cases of mirror websites and submission pages to solicit personal information that take on the appearance of a familiar institution (such as a bank). For this reason, every request is suspect. If you receive an information request that links you to a submission page, avoid clicking on the link. Instead, type the company name into a search engine or go directly to their website. After considering the legitimacy of the site, it is then recommended that you call the institution or company to confirm their existence and authenticity.

Every site that requests personal information must include a privacy statement (enforced by the Better Business Bureau), which explains the kinds of information they collect and for what purposes. If a particular company does not display such notice, they are not in compliance with the Better Business Bureau, and they should probably not be trusted. Encryption is another key factor that ensures the safety of private information. Anytime someone deals with a resume submission service, a professional resume writer, or any other site that asks for personal information, it is important to check to see that the URL at the top of the web browser (ie Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) includes the letters “https:” rather than just “http:” or that a padlock appears at the lower right corner of the screen.

These are signs that the forms and submissions are encrypted, therefore making it difficult to manipulate for fraudulent purposes.

Lastly, it is so important to report job-search and resume submission scams to the proper authorities. It is very difficult to crack down on Internet fraud when most incidences go unreported. The IFCC (the Internet Fraud Complaint Center) is a great place to report suspicious information requests and actual fraudulent attacks. Keep your personal information guarded carefully, and make sure you investigate everything before submitting it on the Internet. The Internet has become the most valuable tool for job-searching, and there is no reason to pass that up. By putting these simple tips into action anyone can have a save job search online.

The Power Of Resume

Getting a job can be a very stressful experience, but the right preparation can really take off some of the pressure. One of the most basic ways you can really improve your chances of being hired is by having a professional resume. Most employers have seen thousands, if not more, resumes in their position and can instantly recognize something that is professional versus something that is rushed and sloppy. Using professional resume writers for developing the perfect resume is an excellent way to insure the quality of your resume and help give you confidence in applying for the jobs you know you can do.

A solid resume is always considered heavily in the job hiring process. People who present themselves well will always have the best possibility of being hired. This is not only true for clothes, cleanliness, and attitude, but also for resumes. A person’s resume reflects characteristics such as attention to detail, organization, and professionalism, which are all valuable attributes of a successful employee. Not only will a professional resume reflect character, but it will also present your experience, work history, and other valuable qualities accurately and understandably so that an employer can quickly gather an accurate picture of the person they are considering. Many resumes are difficult to decipher and cause communication problems between the Employer and Candidate, and miscommunication is the last thing a job candidate needs. Professional resume writers can help clearly present you as an organized, experienced and professional candidate.

The positive effects of a professional resume do not end on with the words on the page. Anyone who has sought high profile positions will tell you that having a solid resume will boost their own enthusiasm and confidence in the interview process. Every candidate should feel very secure with the way their resume represents them. There is nothing more stressful than watching an employer read over a resume that is not entirely professional, and it will often cause a candidate to make apologies or act with insecurity. Believe it or not, these are not desirable qualities. Assuredness and self-confidence can even be more persuasive than experience and history in some cases, as many employers are looking for sharp, critical thinkers that can confidently fill a position. Let a professional help construct a resume that you can be proud of, so that you can really shine in the interview process.

Regardless of the job, a professional resume will always make a difference in your desirability as a job candidate. Don’t let a resume be your weakest link, instead, let it be the foundation to a perfect interview.

Pest Control Breakthrough in the Never Ending Battle around Home and Garden

Since I am not only an avid gardener, but also much concerned about the environment, I’m always looking for safe methods to grow plants including pest control in home and garden.

Think about pest control and how it works: We spray chemicals on plants or pests and the bugs die or stop reproducing because the chemicals are toxic to them. Unfortunately, many of these products are also toxic to humans and animals. Reading warning labels on pest control products makes you wonder why anybody would want to risk using them. Exposure to the fumes of these products can result in headaches, feelings of nausea and other discomfort Pesticide use can also results in chronic illness such as allergies, in miscarriages, sterility, cancer and even death.

We not only spray and fumigate in home and garden, we also apply bug killing toxins on our pets and expose them and ourselves non stop to a variety of chemicals to kill fleas, ticks and more.

Over the years, I have had some success with such Earth friendly things as vinegar, diatomaceous earth, garlic, cayenne pepper and Saver Soap in my never ending battle with bugs that invade home and garden. My quest also led me to pure essential oils which repel or kill bugs, yet are actually healthful to people and their pets.

Experimentation lead to the discovery that if the oils are used undiluted, they repel the pests, but if the oils are mixed with water, they often become “insecticides”. In other words, if you like to repel insects from entering your home, you can do that by putting a few drops of the appropriate oil on your fingers or some other applicator and then brush or spray the oil along the line of demarcation such as a windowsill, a door jamb, or other point of entry.

To kill or disable pests, mix a few drops of a specific oil with water in a spray bottle, shake frequently and aim at the pests. For example, to discourage aphids and ants from roses and other plants, generously spray infested plants with the mix. While the pests will leave or fall off, there is no harm done to the plant itself. (Best not to do that in mid day when temperatures go above 100 degrees F.)

You can keep ticks, chiggers and fleas off yourself and your pets when in the outdoors by using the appropriate oils. Either spray on exposed areas or rub on cuffs around neck, wrists and ankles. Avoid using oils near the eyes. Should you get oils in the eyes, dilute with vegetable oil - NOT with water. If an oil should be too strong for the user, experiencing a slight discomfort, apply a little vegetable oil to dilute. For your pets, you can put recommended oils around the neck, legs and along the back, but keep oils from around the eyes and other tender areas.

If an oil should be too strong for the user, apply a little vegetable oil on the area to dilute.

The following oils have been used successfully in the elimination of pests from home and garden:

ANTS: Peppermint, Spearmint

APHIDS: Cedarwood, Hyssop, Peppermint, Spearmint

BEETLES: Peppermint, Thyme

CATERPILLARS: Spearmint, Peppermint

CHIGGERS: Lavender, Lemongrass, Sage, Thyme

CUTWORM: Thyme, Sage

FLEAS: Peppermint, Lemongrass, Spearmint, Lavender

FLIES: Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage

GNATS: Patchouli, Spearmint

LICE: Cedarwood, Peppermint, Spearmint

MOSQUITOES: Lavender, Lemongrass

MOTHS: Cedarwood, Hyssop, Lavender, Peppermint, Spearmint

PLANT LICE : Peppermint, Spearmint

SLUGS: Cedarwood, Hyssop, Pine

SNAILS: Cedarwood: Pine, Patchouli

SPIDERS: Peppermint, Spearmint

TICKS: Lavender, Lemongrass, Sage, Thyme

WEEVILS: Cedarwood, Patchouli, Sandalwood

I like to add these cautions about essential oils: Not all essential oils on the market are safe. Many are diluted with harmful chemicals. Many essential oils are ineffective due to the way they are processed. Please make sure that you use safe, pure, properly distilled oils.

Explode Your Traffic With Free Articles

There are many people attempting to make money on the Internet. Many of them are unaware that one of the most effective ways to generate targeted traffic is free. Your cost is primarily your time.

The Internet is the main source of information for many people. These people are constantly gathering information for their personal use or their business. Many are looking for content for their websites, ezines, and blogs. There are numerous excellent free articles available from authors with first hand experience concerning various topics. There is a tremendous amount of information available about almost anything under the sun.

The authors of these various articles are putting their time and effort into writing for a few reasons. These free articles can generate substantial traffic and exposure for the authors, their websites, and businesses.

One article can spread literally to hundreds and even thousands of websites very quickly around the world by Internet. Ezine publishers and webmasters are on a continuous search for new content to publish for their readers. Because of this, authors are exposed to a very large number of people who can generate substantial targeted traffic. It gives credibility to the author and exposure to her website.

One of the keys to successfully generating traffic with your article is the resource box. This is a section that appears at the end of the article. It’s your chance to include a few lines about you the author, and equally important, a link to your website. An example appears at the end of this article.

It’s surprising to many people how writing articles can generate so much targeted traffic. In a relative short period of time your name starts to appear in search engines. You then become known as an expert in your field. Many “one-way” links are created back to your website, which helps your rankings with the search engines. As people read your articles, it’s very likely they’ll want to know more about you, and/or your business.

This is what the links in your resource box are for. It’s also important to have a statement like the following: You have permission to republish and use this article in your newsletter, website,or blog as long as you leave the article fully intact and include the resource box at the end of the article.

This informs people and encourages them to reproduce your article and use it in their newsletter, website or blog. All of which provides you with more Internet exposure and more targeted traffic.

Writing articles could be the missing link in your current marketing strategies to generate targeted traffic. In some of the future articles I’ll soon be writing, I’ll explain how to get started writing articles for those that have some doubt about their ability to write. I’ll also cover how to get your articles on the Internet for the widest distribution. There are article submission services, or the distribution can be done manually. Manually takes more time of course (however it’s free). Personally I had rather use that time for writing.

Now that you see the numerous benefits of writing articles, it’s time to get started. I look forward to reading your articles soon. Best of Luck!

Tips On Finding Affordable Prom Dresses

Prom night can be the most worrying night of the year for girls and their parents. I do not have kids myself so my niece wrote this article for me, I hope you like it. If you have never been a poor girl in a rich school, you do not know the nightmare that prom can be. It is the one night of the year where everyone is dressed up in the most elegant and expensive clothing that they can find. Even wearing affordable prom dresses marks you as an outcast.

My family was poor. We never had time to buy new clothing, and so I learned to make my own. I sewed my own skirts, shirts, jackets, and dresses. I actually got a lot of admiring looks and compliments on my clothing, because it looked so unique and original. Unfortunately, prom was the one time of the year where I could not get away with it. People would judge me based on how much money I had spent on my dress. I needed to find affordable prom dresses, but one that looked good. Goodwill affordable prom dresses, or the homemade dresses that I made from scratch, would not longer do. I needed something that looked like I had spent a lot of money on it.

I was in a school, you see, where everyone was wearing Vera Wang dresses and prom evening gowns. I had no idea how to sew anything like that. The dresses that I made had a funky, patchwork look to them. I would use several different kinds of cloth and mold it all together into a seamless whole. Affordable prom dresses, however, needed to have a different look. They needed to be precisely tailored and seamless. I needed to find a sale with affordable prom dresses soon, or I would be out of luck.

Fortunately, fate stepped in. There is nothing more affordable than free. I mentioned to my great aunt that I was looking for affordable prom dresses, and she showed me the one that she had worn in high school. It was not quite a plus size prom dress, but it was a bit too big for me. Nonetheless, it was absolutely gorgeous. She even allowed me to get it tailored so that it fit me precisely. All the girls in school loved the antique prom dress that I was wearing. They did not even suspect that I got for free! I was just lucky that my aunt came through for me. I was finding no affordable prom dresses that looked good. Without her help, I do not know what I would have done.
