Quit Smoking Right Now

I can still remember that hot summer day in June of 1971; I was 5 years old, and purchasing my first pack of cigarettes for my father. Each day, straight up noon, my dad would come pulling up in his Ford Torino, and that was my cue, I’d run the two blocks to McCartey’s Market, a small neighborhood grocery store on the corner of 13th and Tindall Ave in Trenton, Missouri, and pick up a pack of Sir Walter Raleigh cigarettes.

On this particular June lunch hour, that I believe to have been my very first cigarette purchasing adventure, I leaned over the only checkout counter in the store and timidly said, “I need a pack of Sir Walter Raleigh’s please”, and the lady’s reply still haunts me some 36 years later. “Oh how cute, honey are you gonna smoke these, or are they for your Daddy?”She asked. “They’re my Daddy’s” I chirped back. “Well I’ll bet when you get a little older, you’ll smoke the same kind, won’t you?”

While I truly don’t remember my reply to her statement, her words are forever burned into my mind. Fortunately, being the hard headed person I am, I was polarized to someone telling me what I was going to do someday, and I’ve never smoked. But my how things have changed. It was not an uncommon experience to see kids buying cigarettes back then.

But that’s not the point of my story; the real purpose of my story is to point out how many people’s lives have been destroyed by this legal poison that’s still sold today.

As a professional speaker, I travel all over the country, speaking to men and women who command big fat salaries and live pretty high on the hog, and guess what? Nicotine could care less about how much you money you make, it crosses all socio-economic lines, negatively impacting the lives of all who fall prey to her seductive relaxation techniques.

A good friend of mine, and well-known Internet entrepreneur, Rick Beneteau, has unleashed something that he believes will change the world and the lives of millions…it certainly changed his.

You see, Rick smoked for almost 40 years, and was suffering physically. After having has several failed attempts at quitting, Rick made an appointment with a clinic that claimed to have a 90% success rate with getting smokers to quit.

Here’s the kicker; the clinic told Rick that not only would he quit, but he would quit forever! And he’s do it without having cravings; without stress; and without patches, pills, and gums.

And that’s exactly what happened. Rick didn’t have any strong cravings, used no pills or patches, and suffered no major anxiety…..and he didn’t gain any weight, not even a pound.

Here are some facts about smoking that you may or may not have seen before, but they’re staggering, and worth seeing again. Those who decide to quit smoking have a financial burden, but worse yet, none of the following methods have shown very promising results:

A Nicotrol Inhaler will cost you approx. $509.88.

3 months of chewing Nicorettes will cost you approx. $337.50.

7 weeks of swallowing Zyban pills will cost you anywhere from $160.08 to $300.00+ depending on where you purchase.
3 months of “withdrawal munchies” (with other programs) will add at least $700.00 to your grocery bill

But what if you could quit smoking? Are the benefits really that great if you’ve been smoking most of your life?
After 1 year off cigarettes, the excess risk of heart disease and sudden death caused by smoking is reduced by half. After 15 years of abstinence, the risk of heart disease is similar to that of people who’ve never smoked.
In 5 to 15 years, the risk of stroke for ex-smokers returns to the level of those who’ve never smoked.
Male smokers who quit between ages 35 to 39 can add up to 15 years to their life. Female quitters in this age group can add up to 12 years. Men and women who quit at ages 65 to 69 increase their life expectancy by up to 3 years.

Oh, I almost forgot, have you ever had an X-Ray? If so, then you’ve probably noticed the X-ray techs wearing those lead lined aprons to protect themselves, right? Do you know why that is?

X-Rays are dangerous…being exposed to the rays that are emitted through your body can actually damage you, and …each pack of cigarettes has been estimated by researchers to be the equivalent of one chest X-Ray!

I’ve known Rick for a long time now, and I know that if he says it’s good…then you better believe that it is. He is as stoked about this as anything I’ve ever heard him ranting about.

Look, it’s bad enough we once had an era where a 5 year old could buy cigarettes for their Daddy, and be encouraged to smoke the same kind someday. But now, those 5 year olds are in their 40’s, and watching loved ones, friends, and family members dying around them. Whenever, however, and for whatever reasons, I hope that if you have been a smoker, you’ll find a way to quit. You might even choose to do it like Rick did.

Article Marketing When You Can’t Write

Article marketing means writing articles and having them published in ezines (electronic magazines) and on other people’s websites in the hope that visitors who read the articles will visit your website. The presence of your articles online also earns valuable links to your website and this increases your standing with the search engines.

Article marketing is one of the best methods of free online advertising. There are many sources of free advertising online but, sadly, with most of them you get what you pay for: nothing. Article writing and publishing is different: it is both free and effective.

There are some people who simply cannot or will not write. A webmaster who can’t write or refuses to will have the choice of hiring a ghost writer (expensive), buying “limited edition” pre-written articles that will be sold to a few hundred other webmasters (cheaper but still a significant dent in the advertising budget) or republishing articles offered on article directory websites (free). The free option is the most popular and, if you can write, you get the chance to have your article with a link to your website used by the webmasters who republish articles from the directories.

Writers can be divided into two categories: the ones who find writing easy and the ones who don’t. There is such a thing as a “natural” writer just as there are natural born artists and musicians. The natural writer can produce an article in the time it takes for a cup of coffee to cool down to drinking temperature and, at the same time, be planning the next article and the one after that. If writing comes easily to you, you will probably find that the process of submitting your articles to other webmasters and directories takes longer that the actual writing.

Being a natural writer is a matter of luck just the same as being double jointed, blue eyed or tall. Unlike these characteristics, the ability to write is something many people can learn. Many people who say they can’t write, have never tried it but, if you know how to get started, you can become a proficient writer. If writing ability was not given to you as an art, you can make it your craft provided you have the ability to spell and a grasp of the rules of grammar. You probably won’t be able to train yourself to be a great poet or a world-renowned literary figure but, with a little effort, most people can train themselves to produce decent ezine articles.

The most common problems quoted by people who want to try writing ezine articles are that they don’t know what to write about and that they can’t find enough to say. If you are not an experienced writer, always write about something you know: if you are having a struggle with the process of putting ideas into writing, you don’t need the added work of carrying out time consuming research. When you have managed to craft a few articles you will find that thinking up subject matter and finding enough to say is no longer a problem (trust me here, even though it might seem unlikely it’s true), so just start writing.

Make the subject of your first article something you understand and, preferably, enjoy. The subject, for the purpose of this exercise, is irrelevant. You could describe how to saddle a horse correctly, the right way to swing a golf club, the best way to spring clean a house, the history of pizza, how to keep your fingernails in good condition or literally anything you can think of. The list could go on and on, everyone has an interest or an idea about how to do something. It doesn’t matter if your first article never gets published, use it as a test run, concentrate on the technique of article writing.

For this exercise aim to write an article of not less than 500 words. That might sound a lot but it is about one page of a word processor document with the font set at 12. Having decided upon a topic for your article, imagine you are telling a friend about it. For ezine articles it is normally better to adopt an informal, conversational tone that lets the reader know you are sharing information, not lecturing or talking down to him.

Start with a general introduction to your subject, follow that with 3 or 4 paragraphs dealing with different aspects of the topic and finish with a closing paragraph. The closing paragraph can be very brief but it is better to round the article off than just appear to stop because you ran out of steam. It’s a bit like “that’s all, folks” or “The End” when a movie finishes.

When you have written your article get a friend or relative to read it and give an honest opinion. The two most important things to find out are whether the article was interesting and whether it succeeded in explaining what you set out to convey. You can ask for points for artistic merit but style can be polished as you gain more confidence in your writing. The ability to get your message across is vital. The next step is to write an article, using the same format, on a subject related to the business you want to publicise.

The final thing required is to invent an attention grabbing title for your article and the transformation will be complete. You are now a writer.

What Are The Advantages of Insurance Leads

What are the advantage of an insurance lead - Advantage of an insurance lead is that the salesperson will be speaking with someone who had at least indicated some interest in the idea that will be discussed. This imply it will not be an uphill battle from the start, and there may be some common ground on which to build. Common ground is very important in any sales situation.

The more important question one should ask is how does a salesperson acquire an insurance lead? Do you know that a mail campaign will usually draw less than one half a percent in responses. That means that for every two hundred pieces you mailed, you will get back only one lead. Though this can be improved upon with a follow-up phone call. The mail piece has to be easily readable by anyone and must call for action. The phone call can set a fire under the prospect if it is handled right.

Working any sales job from the leads is always better than just pure cold calling, as the sales call is always with somewhat interested parties. The second advantage of insurance lead is because the prospect has shown some interest; you have reason to believe they will listen to your pitch for at least a couple of minutes. A non-lead sales presentation has none of these mentioned advantages. Cold calling in person and cold calling on the phone are time consuming activities that take away the precious sales time.

A big advantage of insurance lead is that the referral at least has the person who referred them to you in common with you. They may just be curious why their friend referred them or they may be very interested if they happen to respect the referrer. This kind of insurance lead is one of the best that a sales rep can have. Insurance lead referrals are precious, it’s like finding gold in the streets.

AJAX and SEO - Can They Co-exist?

Before getting into an understanding of the fuss surrounding the co-existence AJAX and SEO, let us first answer the question. Can SEO and AJAX co-exist? The answer is that the two will definitely have to co-exist, and both developers and end-users will stand to benefit from this.

Emerging technologies tend to have an uncomfortable relationship with existing techniques. The obvious reason is that the existing techniques are created on the basis of existing technologies. AJAX and SEO share a similar relationship.

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) brings together various technologies to create a technique that make web pages more like web applications. The key benefit of AJAX is that the page has a greater sense of interactivity, and the user requests are rendered in smaller portions. In other words, AJAX enables the creation of a scenario that is both data-centric and user-centric. Developers were skeptical towards the use of AJAX, but with the introduction of the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) this changed drastically. GWT made AJAX easier for developers to create applications in, and needless to the say the end user stands to benefit the most from this.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a technique used to enhance the visibility of a website vis-à-vis search engines. Using various SEO techniques, websites enhance their visibility so that they would be ranked high on the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). SEO has become a part of the development lifecycle of websites. Companies, big and small, are becoming increasingly aware about the importance that SEO has, and what it can do for their business.

There was widespread apprehension about AJAX, and its invisibility to search engines. Words like search engine unfriendly were being used to describe AJAX. What was happening with AJAX was reminiscent of the fate that Flash had faced before this. JavaScript, which is what AJAX applications use, is not visible to search engine spiders. In other words, when a search engine spider is crawling a website that is created using AJAX, most of the content would not be visible. The reason for this is that since smaller portions of content are rendered with AJAX, there are no unique URL’s that a search engine can direct searchers too. In other words, the whole purpose of enhancing interactivity would fail.

This can be better explained with this example. If you a product catalog with x number of products on it, you would obviously want that the search engine has a distinct page for every one of the products on the list. When you create this catalog using AJAX, all the information is there on the same page for the user to click and explore. But from the point of view of the search engine crawler, there is one page and therefore it does not direct any traffic to the individual products on your page. One way to circumvent this problem is to create a parallel site targeted for search engine spiders, and other browsers that do not support JavaScript. This is one available option that many websites have already successfully employed to make the two ends meet. And there are in fact, many success stories of websites that have used AJAX, and found ways in which to ensure that the content is visible to search engine spiders.

In other words, the solution lies in being aware of the problems that SEO for an AJAX application would pose, and to counter the same during the construction stage. For instance, in the first load of your AJAX application you must include optimized elements like TITLE and headers. Also ensure that your rewrite your url in the form of a fixed address which the search engines must be able to index and therefore rank Yet another way out is to create as many internal links as possible. Keyword specific inbound links that point towards a specific section, not just the homepage of the website, would also be beneficial.

AJAX saves time that is otherwise spent on refreshing or reloading a page. SEO makes sure that all the hard work that is put in by writers, designers, and developers pays off and the target audience is able to reach the website - their desired destination. The importance of both AJAX and SEO cannot be undermined. And their significance is such that no website owner would want to compromise to make use of one and forgo the other. The co-existence of AJAX and SEO does not seem like a distant dream at the moment. If new technology creates roadblocks for existing techniques, it also often makes way for newer techniques to flourish.

Camping Tips for Families

Camping outdoors is a great way for families to spend quality time together, but it can sometimes get stressful for parents, especially those with small children. Planning and preparation are the keys to success in any event, so take a little time before your outing to plan some fun camping activities for the kids as well as the whole family.

To make things easier on you and your children, pack each day’s clothing in a separate plastic bag. At night, your little ones can return their dirty clothes to the bag and keep their clean items separate from the dirty laundry. Allow each child to choose a toy or two to bring along, but encourage them to keep it simple. Books, stuffed animals, or puzzle magazines are good choices.

Provide each child with their own flashlight for the camping trip. A personal light is not only fun for kids, it can make them feel more comfortable in the dark night air. Flashlights or personal lanterns allow children to read before bed, make shadow puppets in their tent, and make it safely to the bathroom at night. You may consider giving each child a Coleman for kids Illumistick when the sun goes down. Once activated the cool glow stick will provide light for up to twelve hours, long enough to make it until sunrise.

Enlist each child’s help in preparation, meal time, and planning activities. Let young children help make trail mix for the trip and older children can pack their own suitcases. Plan one major activity each day, like hiking, horseback riding, or kayaking, and allow your children to explore the outdoors in their own way the rest of the time. Allow older children to help prepare meals and assign everyone a meal time duty, like setting the table or cleaning up.

Review your family camping rules before leaving for your trip and again when you set up camp. Remind your young children to stay within your view and older children to never go out of earshot. If your school age children are sleeping in their own tent, pitch the tent next to yours and provide them with a whistle in case they get lost or hurt while playing. Review the rules of nature etiquette with your children as well. Remind them to keep their voices down and to never pick the flowers or disturb the animals. Tell your children to stay on the marked trails while hiking and to always throw away their trash.

When you are camping with children, safety is usually a primary concern. Always carry a first aid kit with bandages, antibiotic cream, pain reliever, and any allergy medications. Remind your children that they can only play near fire or water if an adult is supervising the activity and make them avoid areas with ledges or steep drops while alone. Keep children in the middle if you go hiking or horseback riding to protect them from falls, snakes, and becoming lost and remember to check everyone for ticks each night.

What are the Symptoms of Lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a very difficult disease if watched from the symptoms perspective. That is to say that besides being quite “ugly”, these lymphoma signs can also be attributed to other medical conditions as well. Cat scratch fever has similar symptoms to lymphoma, making this disease even that more difficult to diagnose. There are two types of lymphoma for which symptoms are presented: non- Hodgkin’ s lymphoma and Hodgkin’ s lymphoma.

The symptoms for lymphoma disease are as follows:

- general tiredness and lack of your energy; these apply in both lymphoma cases;

- swelling of the lymph node; the upper parts of your body are more often affected, but any node that is related to the lymph organ can swell; this is not painful at all, opposite to the lymph nodes that get infected; these symptoms as well can be found in both lymphoma types;

- loss of weight is another symptom that applies to both lymphoma diseases; if you suffer from lymphoma, you are very likely to loose at least six percent of your body weight in a very short period of time;

- you will also suffer from chills and fever if suffering from any of the lymphoma diseases; the fever that you will have is not persistent;

- itching is another lymphoma symptom, but it applies more to Hodgkin’ s lymphoma, than to the other lymphoma type; the itching is more deep in your skin and it can affect almost any part of your body;

- sweating at night, for apparently no reason is another lymphoma sign, that as the one above, refers more to the Hodgkin’ s type of lymphoma;

Besides these lymphoma symptoms, that are the most common ones, there are also some other signs, which are less common:

- pain in the lower back is a sign for both lymphoma types of disease; this happens because the lymph nodes that are expanding actually press your nerves;

- in the Hodgkin’ s lymphoma case, after consuming alcohol, you may suffer from pain in your lymph nodes;

- lesions, itching and even skin patches are also symptoms of lymphoma, but this time of the non- Hodgkin’ s type of lymphoma;

To diagnose lymphoma by it’ s symptoms alone is quite difficult if not impossible. This is why x- rays or some tests must be used as well. At present, there are almost 35 different lymphoma types. The treatment used differs from a type of lymphoma to another.

Details About Tuberculosis Treatment

The treatment of tuberculosis lasts a long period of time, from six to nine months but it gives remarkably good results in patients. Only in some cases drugs are not bared by the patient and side effects appear. In order to prevent them from happening the doctor monitorizes closely the evolution of the patient by performing blood, urine tests and thoracic x-rays.

The doctor must be announced when nausea, vomiting, fever and jaundice appear. Some patients might develop a skin rash and bruises from the drugs, others might feel numbness in hands or feet and others might have visual problems. The doctor needs to be informed if these kinds of situations appear because he will change the treatment and will replace the harmful drugs with others suitable for the patient.

In the process of treating tuberculosis, doctors use certain drugs that might give certain side effects. For example, Isoniazid can be responsible for the loss of appetite, for nausea, and for tingling in the hands and feet. Rifampicin can interfere with contraceptive pills treatment reducing their effect and can also stain the contact lenses of the patient. Ethambutol is known to cause visual problems so if you follow such a treatment you will periodically be checked by an ophthalmologist to determine whether you can continue the treatment with Ethambutol or not. Pyrazinamide can cause a loss of appetite, nausea, skin rashes and intense itching. Generally Pyrazinamide is recommended only in the first two months of treatment but make sure you inform the doctor if any of these symptoms occur to you.

If the patient takes other medication he must report this thing to the doctor because some pills might interfere with the anti-tuberculosis treatment and others might not be effective if they get in contact with the anti-tuberculosis pills.

The treatment must be followed as prescribed and taken for the period of time the doctor tells you so. Even if the patient feels better the treatment must be continued until the six months have passed because the germs that have cause tuberculosis are not killed until the treatment is done and they might continue to infect the patient and the people who come in close contact with the patient. Also, by taking the pills irregularly, the drug resistance might install and the doctor will have to change the treatment in order to make it effective again but the options are not numerous and the doctor will not have any more separate drugs to replace the others in a short while.

It is important for the patient not to drink any alcohol during the treatment as it can interfere with the drugs and cause toxicity, affecting the liver.

Description of the Sinus Infection

A sinus infection is an acute or chronic disease which affects the integrity of the nasal sinuses. Sinuses are very important elements and their role is to protect the brain against impacts, to reduce the weight of the skull and to improve the resonance of the voice.

Sinusitis appears when the nasal membrane gets affected by pollutants, cold or dry air and becomes inflamed. Secondary the cilia will slow down their movements, and mucus will be mass produced in order to eliminate the accumulated bacteria. Because cilia are not working properly the mucus will be trapped in the sinuses and cause a local infection. Sometimes even the fact that the secretions are thick can cause sinusitis. In rare cases a tumor can block the sinuses causing a local obstruction.

The infection of the sinuses can last a month and it is known as acute sinusitis or can last more than three months and then it is known as chronic sinusitis. The sub acute sinusitis is situated somewhere in between, meaning that is lasts from one month to less than three months.

There are people who are exposed at this affection due to their profession. Those who work in conditions which expose them to infections like health care personnel, those who work with irritants like smoke, petrol and pain fumes, perfumes and different sprays are also at risk of developing sinusitis.

Those who smoke a lot and who have a weakened immune system are more exposed to sinusitis and infections than others.

A person who has fever, headaches, facial pain and pressure, colored nasal discharge, and even problems with the vision for more than 10 days must go to the doctor and ask for a treatment because left untreated, sinusitis can cause pneumonia, ear infection, bronchitis and even bone infections.

The doctor will try to see if there is redness and swelling of the nasal passages, tenderness at percussion and swelling in the eye area. With the help of a rhinoscope the doctor will want to see if the sinuses are obstructed or not. Sometimes he might even perform an aspiration to collect samples of the material that blocks the sinus and see what kind of bacteria populates this material.

The therapy consists out of medical treatment and home care remedies. They are meant to clear up the infection, open and drainage the sinuses, and reduce as possible the intensity of the symptoms while reassuring prevention to recurrences of the infection.

At home the patient is recommended to drink warm fluids, to apply wet bandages on the face and to make steam inhalations. The doctor will prescribe the patient oral decongestants, and mucus thinning agents. Besides this anti-biotherapy is needed in order to stop the infection that has caused sinusitis. The doctor might try more types of antibiotics until he finds the right one as he can not know which bacteria has caused your infection. Also, cortisone sprays might be helpful as they improve the drainage of the sinuses. Treatment must be followed at least 10 days otherwise the sinus infection might come back after a few days.

For those in whom the treatment is not effective surgery is the last option. This surgery lasts two or three hours and it consists out of straightening the septum, and opening the sinuses in order to improve the drainage. Hospitalization is needed a day or two and the recovery period might last up to two weeks. Even if you have had surgery this does not mean you can not have sinusitis again, but the advantage is that if you develop it again you will be able to treat it more easily.

The easier thing is to prevent sinusitis, not to treat it. You can prevent sinusitis by giving up smoking, by treating any colds as soon as they install, by cleaning up the nose gently when needed and by drinking a lot of warm liquids.

You can visit http://www.sinus-infection-guide.com or http://www.sinus-infection-guide.com/sinus-infection-treatment.htm for more sinus infection treatment information
