After the bit-by-bit revelation of the cast of the upcoming spin-off of Grey ’s Anatomy, two more additions are unveiled. And this time, they come in the form of two womanly figures.

Aside from Grey’s Anatomy’s Kate Walsh, who will obviously lead the series, the controversial spin-off has already confirmed Taye Diggs, Tim Daly, Paul Adelstein and Chris Lowell as cast members. To nearly balance the male dominated squad, the people behind the show have incorporated Amy Brenneman and Merrin Dungey as of March 13, 2007.

The two fresh add-ons to the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off are no novices when it comes to television exposure. In fact, these two are considered veterans, having acquired numerous television and films credentials. Brenneman, a 42-year old Connecticut native, is an actress popularly known for her role as Amy Madison Gray on the serial drama entitled Judging Amy. She also starred on the television series NYPD Blue from 1993 to 1994. This Harvard graduate also appeared in movies like Heat, Casper, Daylight, Fear, Nevada, Your Friend and Neighbors, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking At Her, and Bye Bye, Love to name a few.

As for Merrin Dungey, this 35-year old actress from Sacramento, California, is best known for her portrayal of Francie Calfo on the action-drama series Alias. She is an accomplished ice skater and the youngest recipient of the UCLA Acting Award. Her other credits included All the Time in the World, The King of Queens, Summerland, Malcolm in the Middle, The West Wing, Friends, Living Single, Murphy Brown and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Now that the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off is gradually uncovering its ensemble, the viewers’ interest and curiosity becomes more and more intense. And although six cast members have already been made public, there is still no word on their character plot or even the title of the much-awaited medical drama.

Despite numerous controversies surrounding her inclusion on the celebrity dance show Dancing with the Stars, Heather Mills remains to be calm and collected, dispelling all rumors about her dropout on the popular dance competition.

Early March, her capacity to perform on Dancing with the Stars sparked speculations due to her prosthetic leg. Mills replied with much optimism and humor saying, “I have no fear. Out to prove her groovy moves in spite of her artificial leg, she hopes to be an inspiration to other people with disabilities. But her inclusion on Dancing with the Stars comes with meticulous preparation and painstaking training. Meanwhile, there are other things that make Mills more nerve-wracking. Her bitter divorce, which has been a lingering issue, has left her tired and weary. In fact, Mills told her friends that she has been through a whirlwind of chaos and that she “had a terrible time.”

PETA, an International non-profit group that promotes animal protection and contests animal abuse, has found its new endorser in the form of American Idol judge Simon Cowell. The infamous judge will be promoting a public service awareness campaign that deals with animal welfare, specifically pertaining to the cruelty of leaving dogs in a vehicle on a hot day.

Cowell strongly asserts his sentiments over the subject matter he previously experienced firsthand. He also realized that not a lot of people are aware that leaving dogs inside a car might cause danger or even kill the animal. And while this is just one crusade, he explores other animal issues, which need to be addressed such as the fur trade with dogs.

Cowell, a 47-year old British artist, is an executive for Sony BMG. Apart from being a judge on American Idol, he is responsible for music themes of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Zig and Zag, and the World Wrestling Federation. Previously, he was also a judge on Pop Idol, The X Factor, and Britain’s Got Talent

This endorsement of Cowell surprises most people, especially avid fans of the reality talent show American Idol where he depicts a stern and rough judge, often uttering straightforward and harsh remarks in auditions and during the show. He maintains that treating people is very different with treating animals. He also attributes his good karma on his behavior towards animals. Cowell said, “Everyone should love animals. If you’re good to animals, your life will be good. And my life is good because I’ve been good to animals. If I see a baby, it’s a baby. If I see a puppy, it’s a whole different ball game. He also emphasized on the importance of loving animals on American Idol. He added, “The people I work with, they’re all animal lovers. It’s part of the criteria for judging the show: you’ve got to like animals.”

Angarita, a 28-year old attorney, was born on April 20, 1978 in South America. He came to the United States to study at the University of California where he acquired his Bachelor of Arts degree. In TV world, Angarita remains as one of Moto tribe’s strongest players on Survivor, able to control and lead in certain situations. But in real life, his chances of survival in court appear to be slim. He is scheduled to return to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. The success of the reality show America’s Next Top Model has sprouted more than twenty adaptations all over the world. Grey ’s Anatomy has proven an unlikely success. While medical dramas are one of Tv’s best bets in the formula department, Grey’s Anatomy seemed from the beginning a pale and banal iteration of the formula. A cast that seemed cut from the fashion section of an old Sears catalogue, and stories filled with hyperbolic doctors screaming codes and demanding many cc’s of mysterious substances. Oh, and lots of that ‘paddle’ thing as well. But it wasn’t long before the serious caught on, and for good reason, the writing is, at its core, very story motivated, and behind those pretty faces are solid actors that emote as well they vogue.

After achieving success at such a fast speed, however, it is a questionable move the series is making trying for a spinoff. First, they are planning on extracting one of their favored characters from the shows dramatic dynamic, Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery (played brilliantly by Kate Walsh.) This will no doubt leave a huge hole in the dramatic fabric of the show. Next, in setting up the spin off, they are in a sense using the opposite formula. Instead of filling the cast with talented ‘barely knowns’, they are padding out Walsh with a host of well know actors including Tim Daly, Chris Lowell, and Taye Diggs.

Probably the biggest risk involved in this endeavor is the impact on Grey’s Anatomy itself. Were the spin off to fail, simply shifting Walsh back to Grey’s Anatomy might not be such an easy task. Walsh has been so central to the dramatic balance of Grey’s Anatomy that the writers will surely have to accommodate for her absence by creating a new equilibrium on the show. This could, in fact, throw Grey’s Anatomy off as well. Enough that the show itself could suffer and eventually fail.

It is impossible to say whether any of this will happen, but one thing seems for sure. Year three of Grey’s Anatomy seems to be just too soon to have a Spin Off.

Finally, the much-awaited release of the complete sixth season DVD of Smallville is just around the corner! It’s been a chockfull of adventure since the premier of season 6 and now the fans of Smallville will soon get the chance to relive the roller coaster escapades of the young Clark Kent.

The music of Grey’s Anatomy has become one of that show’s many calling cards. Every episode features new and great music from diverse artists that the audience would likely have never been exposed to otherwise. It is truly an incredible feat for an already conceivably popular and successful show to add another notch to its belt in the form of music selection.

The good, quality music that permeates over the show comes at many times, during emotional scenes, montages, happy scenes. The usage is unpredictable, but the effect is always the same. One of the best parts about Grey’s Anatomy use of music is that most shows will use well known songs. Or, at least songs that we have heard before. This doesn’t create any sort of emotional response because we have history with the songs we know and we have certain feelings that accompany it. With Grey’s Anatomy, these songs are new, mostly ones we haven;t heard, and are therefore inextricably linked to the show.

Grey’s Anatomy has proven the greatness of their music selections by bringing us numerous soundtracks that feature songs from the show. While they don;t have every song the show has ever played, they have the most memorable and the best. Also, after every episode a number of fan sites will go to great lengths to tell us what the songs were and what bands they were played by. It is a great way to acquire new fans, and Grey’s has mastered it.

American Idol is having a pretty weird sixth season. The talent seems to be lacking a little, but that may not be the entire story. The top of the ladder is full of great singers. And when I say great, I mean great. Not just good, but great. Melinda Doolittle may just be the best singer/performer that American Idol has ever seen. It is because of this that this season is bizarre.

The male side of the spectrum is full of diverse performers with some mediocre singers sprinkled in. A few of the guys have some good style, their own personal trademarks. The only problem is, they aren’t great singers and they don;t have great voices. The one male singer with a great voice, Sundance Head, is hit or miss and is not a very good performer at all. The thing about it is, I’m not sure if it even matters. The girls have this season locked up. It’s true, there is no chance for any of the guys to win.

And this is not a rash statement. Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle are far and away the two best singers in the competition. NO one else should even try to win. That’s how big of a landslide it should be. Of course, one or two of the guys could step up and show us something, but that sure doesn’t seem likely with the way things have been going. All in all, it has been an entertaining season, with some very good performances.

Getting married to a Philippines woman is a great thing but not always great for everyone, it’s that old story, a Philippines girl can be all things to a man, but not every Philippines lady can be all things to every man, in other words it’s not a good idea to stereotype Philippine women.

Very often Philippine girls are shoved in the same pigeon hole as all other ladies from the South East Asian countries, such as China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, South Korea.

The ladies from these countries, tend to have totally different languages, different religions different cultures, different ways of eating food, the only thing they portion is the Pacific Ocean if they can travel to their local beach.

In that sense, if I am honest, I really ought to deter British Men from marrying Philippine ladies simply because they are ‘Filipina’ perpetuated by most mythical notion that Filipina’s are wonderful, submissive wives that never answer back, and are fantastic in the bedroom!

So I have set a little test for the prospective husband to see if he really knows anything about his possible future wife, country, culture and customs. There are no fixed answers to the questions, but they will assist you to see beyond the tunnel vision of love.

The Test:

1. Can you find the Philippines on a map?

2. Do you know what is the Capital City of the Philippines?

3. Do you know what are the main regions of the Philippines?

4. Do you know who is the President of the Philippines?

5. Do you know what are the main languages spoken in the Philippines, and your potential wife’s local dialogue?

6. Do you know what the main religions practiced in the Philippines?

7. Do you know why innumerable Filipinos have Spanish names?

8. Are you prepared to have children, if so, are you prepared for many and various children?

9. Are you prepared to provide ‘Sustento’ (alimony) for your extended Philippine family for education and other expenses, if they need your benefit?

10. Are you fairly tolerant of superstitions?

11. Do you like fish products?

12. Do you know what eating implements are preferred? Chopsticks, cutlery or fingers.

13. Do Filipinos bow to each other?

14. Do you expect your Philippine wife to be submissive and obedient after the marriage?

15. Are you just getting married for sex? Be honest about this.

16. What is the difference between Tagalog, Filipino, Bisayan, Cebuano, Ilongo?

17. What do you think the differences are between a Thai woman, A Japanese woman or a Philippine woman?

18. Are you wanting to marry a Philippine lady because you think you dislike British ladies? Be honest with yourself.

19. Do you like hot climates or hate them? Mosquito’s? Poisonous snakes & spiders?

20. Are you tolerant of Bureaucracy or are do you not suffer fools gladly ?

21. Are you prepared for the costs involved? At least one visit to the Philippines plus all the visa fees (UK presently over �1000).

22. How long are you prepared to wait to get her to the UK? It can be done within 6 months from original contact, but usually a year. If they are already wed, this can take as long as two years to get an annulment (usually a few thousand pounds). If they have children they wish to bring with them, and the farther is named on the birth certificate, this can cause further delay and costs.

Remember one very authorized point. A very small minority of Asian ladies are out to get money off you nothing else. If a Filipina ever asks for hard cash before you have met, move on, or you will find yourself with more problems you can handle. You can tell a true Filipina, they will NEVER ask for hard cash.
