Imagery & Affirmations - How to Create Powerful Affirmations that Work!

1) Keep your affirmations brief like seed thoughts you are planting. Short positive declarations of your intent work best. Then water and feed them regularly so they will grow and flourish. Repeat them over and over again throughout your day.

2) The most important times to repeat affirmations is before sleep and on waking.

3) Record your affirmations on a voice recorder, relax into an Alpha state and play them on waking and when going to sleep. Your own voice is the most powerful for programming your subconscious mind as it is most receptive to your own voice.

4) Write out your affirmations in bold letters, laminate and post them in highly visible spots where you will see them frequently.

AFFIRMATIONS ARE POSITIVE SELF!

Through consistent repetition and action your visualizations and affirmations, which are your CLEAR FOCUSED INTENTIONS, will reprogram your mind. Willpower or force DOES NOT work as it precipitates tension and resistance. A relaxed state is optimal for giving your mind a new program that with repetition will become stronger and charged with more energy.

REPETITION is your key tool for activating new neuro links and neutralizing past programming. Your subconscious mind literally cannot reject anything impressed upon it. The achievement of goals HAPPENS at the subconscious level.

AFFIRMATIONS TO CANCEL WORRY - “I believe in the perfect outcome of every life situation!” OR “I am enjoying relaxing, letting go and trusting life to provide me with all I need to accomplish my life purpose.”

MySpace Launching Political Careers?

Presidents frequently pour massive amounts of money into their election campaigns- this is nothing new. What is new, however, is a new fad for the upcoming election- MySpace. Yes, the same social networking website that young teenagers use to communicate and make new friends. And why not? There is already for significant commercial potential on MySpace - internet marketers have found a place to gain massive traffic for their sites and reap the rewards in terms of monetization.

So why not launch political careers in this way? It makes sense if only someone can begin to harness the technology correctly.

In fact, the website has launched a special section on the site for elections. Most of the American Democrats have a MySpace page, and eagerly accept friend requests. On these pages, friends of the political candidates can see blogs, videos, and news on the election. But why choose MySpace? For one, it is one of the most highly trafficked websites on the internet.

Out of the candidates who opted to obtain a MySpace, Obama is the most popular with over 67,000 friends to boast- much more than the other candidates. The service politicians are taking advantage of also appeals to a younger audience- key in targeting a once before hard to persuade audience.

Through the years, MySpace has made many updates and changes- few expected something of this caliber. It will be interesting to see where this will go from here and whether or not the amount of ‘friends’ the politicians obtain positively correlate with votes.

Top 7 Time Wasters and How to Eliminate Them

Do you read your e-mail before doing your priority projects? Do you allow people to burst into your office to talk to you? Do you try desperately to get things done but experience constant interruptions?

Removing any of these top 7 time wasters can clear your schedule so you can get to work and stay focused on priorities. When you practice your ability to focus and take action to get the job done, your time-management ability will soar.

1. The E-Mail Time Waster

Are you constantly checking e-mail? Do you go to your e-mail in-box before or instead of your high-priority projects? Does receiving and replying to e-mail occupy your thoughts all day long? Schedule e-mail free periods of the day. Perhaps set 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. as your “hour of power” when you mentally prepare for the day and prioritize - before you let checking e-mail eat up your morning.

2. The Constant-Interruptions Time Waster

Do people waltz into your office unannounced? Do they “hang out” and talk about things that aren’t related to work? To ensure focused concentration, block out time when nobody is allowed to interrupt you. Close the office door. Put up a sign that says, “Focus time. Come back in an hour” or, “With a client.” If you have an assistant, he or she can also guard your office door to limit interruptions.

3. The “I’m Distracted” Time Waster

Are you easily distracted by your surroundings? Does the noisy bustle of your office take you off track? You need to buffer yourself from things that catch your attention. If there’s a loud meeting going on next to your office, close your door. If you work in a cube and the computer clicking and beeping is getting to you, try playing relaxing music on a headset. Have enough background noise or “white noise” to keep your mind focused.

4. The Must-Pick-Up-the-Phone Time Waster

You’re working intensely on a year-end report due in two hours, when your phone rings. Out of habit, you grab it. You immediately want to hang up and explain that you’re not available, but it’s an important client. An hour later, you try to pick back up on the report, feeling your heart rate race. If you can’t control the urge to answer the phone, turn it off during highly focused work times.

5. The “I’d Rather Be Doing Something Else” Time Waster

Let’s face it. Work isn’t always fun. Your mind is creative, so you may find yourself getting distracted. But you have to perform, to get key things done, or your job or business will be in jeopardy. Do you daydream to avoid doing what’s in front of you? Does surfing the Internet suddenly seem like the most interesting thing to do at work? Wasting time by doing non-important and non-urgent tasks, such as jumping to a website to order digital photo prints, will set you back on projects and extend your work days. If you find yourself diving into things other than work, limit them to five minutes. Then get back to your top projects.

6. The Self-Interruption Time Waster

Your office door is shut. You’re focusing intently on writing your company’s e-newsletter, when, “Ding!” a text message arrives on your cell phone. You pick it up immediately and respond, at length, about what you’ll bring to your friend’s house for dinner Friday night. By the time you finish exchanging text messages, you’ve forgotten that great quote you came up with for the article. Block out all those things that lead you to interrupt yourself. Unless it’s used for business purposes, turn off your cell phone.

7. The Can’t-Say-No Time Waster

“Can you take on an extra, after-hours work assignment?” —
“Sure, no problem.”—
“I know your plate is full, but can you fill my spot on the marketing project?” —
“OK. I’m sure I can move something around.”—
Not saying “No” to assignments you have no business taking on in the first place leads to wasting your time. Sure, it’s great to lend a hand when you can, but not at the expense of your key projects. If a project suffers because you took on coordinating the office holiday party, your boss isn’t going to understand. It’s your job to prioritize. Expand your use of “No,” “No thanks,” and “I can’t this time, but I’d love to in the future when I have an opening.” Your performance will increase, and you’ll have more time to choose where to best spend your hours.

Reduce just 3 of these top 7 time wasters with the above tips and your time-management skills will blossom. Fill this new time with actions that will drive you toward your top priorities-and toward results!

Know the Facts About Debt Consolidation

If you’re like many Americans, you are looking for ways to manage your debt and save money in a way that fits your lifestyle - and debt consolidation may be the answer. Whether you’re paying off credit card debt, working on home improvements or simply need some extra cash in your pocket for the ultimate vacation, there’s no better time to learn all you can about debt consolidation through mortgage refinancing and home equity loans and lines of credit.

Debt Consolidation

If you’re worried about being denied a loan due to less than perfect credit, debt consolidation might be the way to go. By combining multiple loans into one single loan, you not only have a limited amount to pay each month, but the repayment period is longer. Debt consolidation improves your overall credit score by rolling all your unsecured debt into one easy secured loan, eliminating those credit “blemishes” you have accrued in the past. This makes it much easier to get approved for a home equity loan or line, mortgage refinancing or cash-out refinancing.

Home Equity Loans and Lines

Home equity loans and lines are often referred to as second mortgages, but can be in either 1st or 2nd mortgage position. By tapping into your home’s equity, you can get the extra cash you need. As a bonus, the interest rate on these types of loans is usually lower - and tax deductible.

When you’re choosing a home equity loan or line of credit to help with debt consolidation, you should understand that standard home equity loans offer a fixed dollar amount, paid out at the beginning of the loan, while home equity lines of credit offer flexible funds you can access as needed.

The three facets of a home loan are:

1) How much money you need to borrow or the “size” of the loan

2) The percentage rate you pay on the particular loan - which is called the “interest rate”

3) How long it will take you to pay it off - known as the “term” of the loan

Still trying to understand the basics and don’t know where to start? A home equity loan calculator can be very helpful in finding out how much you can afford to borrow by helping you assess your income, current debt situation and loan information. Companies like Bank of America offer online resources such calculators and dedicated staff you can talk to immediately about home equity loans.
Mortgage Refinance

Simply put, a mortgage is a loan with a fixed or adjustable interest rate which you pay back to the bank or financial institution on a monthly basis. As the need for cash or debt consolidation arises, it is it is possible to do a mortgage refinance at a lower rate. This can also reduce your monthly payments.

Use a mortgage refinance calculator to determine how much you can afford and whether you will be able to pay the lender back. At bankofamerica.com, you’ll find plenty of information about getting more cash out of your home, lowering payments through mortgage refinance and how this relates to debt consolidation.

Cash-out Refinance

Similar to a home equity loan or line, cash-out refinance is an option which allows you to borrow your equity and gain extra cash - so you can pay off your bills and make just one simple payment each month. Thus, you can replace your current mortgage with a new mortgage for a higher balance, borrowing against the value of your home. The main difference between this and a home equity loan or line is that with cash-out refinancing, you only repay one loan - your new mortgage.

With the right information, tools and advice, you can take control of your debt. So pack up the bag with text books, call the interior decorator or start planning that trip to Hawaii, because you’re well on your way to financial peace of mind.

How Do I Know When It’s Time To Upgrade My QuickBooks or PeachTree Software Program?

Centennial, CO. March 20, 2007 — QuickBooks and PeachTree are great accounting software programs for start-up businesses, but you may be experiencing a need for more users or to handle larger transactions if you are growing. There are some signs to look for that will let you know it may be time to upgrade your accounting software. They are:

–You’re using multiple software products to run front and back-of-office operations (i.e. QuickBooks or PeachTree along with Spreadsheets)

–You’re looking for “specific” features that are not offered in your current accounting/operational software (i.e. Inventory Management, Manufacturing, e-Commerce, Scheduling, Job Costs, Shipping, Payroll, Credit Card Processing, Customer Relationship Management, etc.)

–You expect or want a growth in revenue, customer base, locations, and/or employees and your current system won’t handle it

–Your employees are unhappy with the current software because of double-entry, it’s too hard to understand, it’s too old, etc.

Some other everyday occurrences that may be a “red flag” also include an increase in overtime hours, having to take work home to complete it, use of post-it notes to help remember tasks and not being able to report and analyze your business operations. It may be time to consider the Sage MAS 90 - Quickbooks Users Edition or Sage MAS 90 - PeachTree Users edition if you are experiencing any of the above issues.

Sage MAS 90 - QuickBooks & PeachTree Users Edition makes the transition seamless and easily transports your data into Sage MAS 90 ERP. Growing Your Business and Your Bottom Line Through Minority Certification

Are you leaving money on the table? If you are a business owner who is a woman or a member of a minority and you have not become certified as a Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise (known as M/WBE), you may be missing out on opportunities.

Reasons to Become Certified

Why do you need certification? Well, maybe you don’t. Certification lets others know that your company is what you say it is-a minority and/or women-owned business. Chances are your average customer is not going to ask you for certification. Certification is required, however, when you want to do business with companies or government agencies that have supplier diversity programs and want to ensure a level playing field for women, minority, or disabled-veteran owned businesses. While you may not have considered this as an avenue for your business, you will want to be ready to seize an opportunity, should one arise.

M/WBE Certification will also give you the ability to expose your business to potential customers that you may not have considered nor had access to before. Many of the qualifying agencies create meet-and-greet opportunities, directories and notify you of upcoming opportunities. This alone makes the sacrifice of time and minimal fees, when going through the certification process, well worth it.

Certification Requirements

In order to be eligible for certification, the basic requirements are:

“-The business must be at least 51 percent owned, controlled and actively managed by minority group members (Native American, Black, Hispanic, Asian- Indian, Asian-Pacific, Aleut, Eskimo, or Native Hawaiian)

“-In business for at least one year

How long is my certification valid?

Recertification practices, as well as fees, vary according to the certifying agency. For example, the state of New Jersey requires recertification upon your one-year anniversary. However after that first recertification, your status is valid for five years provided you submit your supporting documentation by your anniversary date each year.

Certifying Agencies

Choosing a certifying agency should depend upon your type of business and the opportunities you want to seek. Your city and state government offices have certification processes, help and opportunities. There are a myriad of other agencies as well such as the NY/NJ Supplier Development Council (formerly known as the NY/NJ Purchasing Council). As per their website, “The Council strives to expand business opportunities for minority-owned suppliers by linking them with purchasers in the public and private sector. As an advocate for both its suppliers and corporate members, The Council fosters relationships between corporate decision makers and targeted minority suppliers.”
Are All Certifications Recognized By All Agencies And Companies Seeking M/WBEs?

With all these certifying agencies, you may want to know if all agencies and companies recognize all certifications. The short answer is not necessarily. You must check with the requesting agency or company.

For example, in New York there is an agreement between the NYC Department of Small Business Services and The NY/NJ Minority Supplier Development council called the New York City Fast Track Certification

As posted on their website, “The New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (”The Council”) and the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) are now promoting “Fast Track certifications” that will enable Council-certified suppliers to increase their contracting opportunities in the public sector. The City and The Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in an effort to increase the certification of minority-owned businesses. Under the agreement, businesses certified by The Council as a Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) will receive expedited approval of their certification applications with the City… Council-certified suppliers will have greater access to contracting opportunities, better preparation to compete for City contracts, and extra navigation in the public procurement process. “

This partnership is great news for a small business looking to expand its opportunities. Many such opportunities exist, but be sure to ask the certifying agency where the certification will be recognized and question the companies providing opportunities what certifications will be accepted. Be sure to do this before making a commitment to become certified with any agency as many fees, if required, are not refundable.

Getting Help
The process of applying for M/WBE Certification may be daunting for some. It may require more focus and time than you are able to spare, but don’t give up. There is a tremendous amount of assistance available for you on both a free or fee basis. Each agency provides its own sources of assistance. In New York City at the official website, www.nyc.gov, you can find applications, help documents, email addresses and contact numbers for assistance. They also provide monthly training seminars where you can get help from trained certification specialists for free.
To get help and information on M/WBE certification in your locale, begin with your city and state government. Check their websites or call for help. Your local libraries will be able to assist as well. The internet is a cornucopia of information. Use any of the various search engines such as Google (www.google.com) and Yahoo (www.yahoo.com). Changing the word phrases as you search, i.e. minority certification, mbe agencies, or minority business opportunities, will pull up different results giving you a wider array of information.
There are also tremendous local organizations that are ready and willing to give you assistance. Begin with the Small Business Administration and their local arms known as SBDCs or Small Business Development Centers, often times located within the city colleges (http://www.sba.gov/localresources/index.html). Your local library is a tremendous resource as well.

There are times when all you need is someone to pull you through the process. An executive, administrative or virtual (remote) assistant can work wonders in this area, from researching the qualifying agencies and fees to helping you to complete each step of the application. Choose someone thorough and detailed because a detained application can cost you time, money and missed opportunity.

If you are qualified for certification and you don’t get this done you’ve left money on the table, possibly thousands of dollars or more. Can you afford not to become M/WBE Certified?

It Isn’t Creative Unless It Sells

Are your advertisements “creative”? By the term “creative”, I mean do they really stand out on the page or in the listener’s ear? Are they noticeable, memorable, and impression-making? In order for your ads to be productive for your business, they have to be first noticed, then understood, then accepted as valid or valuable, then acted upon. They eventually should result in making sales of your product or service. Do you remember all those dot.com television ads on the Super Bowl a few years ago? Each of those thirty second spots cost more than $ 2 million to air. Granted, this was the largest audience in the world, so the advertisers’ reach was the farthest possible. But who were they reaching? How much of that money was wasted because only 40% of their target group was watching or couldn’t buy? Our focus here today, though, is with the creative aspect of the ad. On the day after the telecast, who remembered the ads? I only remembered the “dog puppet” driving in a truck. It might have been the most creative spot; but who was the sponsor? [I know that it was Pets.com, but most people tested after the telecast, couldn't recall what the sock puppet was about. Where is Pets.com today? Go ahead, click on it and check it out.] It’s not enough to have an ad that is noticed and even remembered, if you don’t link it up with the company paying for the ad. This sock puppet ad wanted us to remember this funny, creative ad in direct connection with Pets.com…a place to buy everything for your pet. They probably succeeded better than all the other dotcoms who spent huge sums to get some attention.

When you are planning your ads either with the media representative or your own advisors (such as an ad agency or creative house), give them explicit marching orders and directions as to what you want to accomplish with your ad. Be precise in terms of how many and what goals you want to reach. Remember that most ads are not capable of accomplishing all your goals in one ad. Some ads may be designed just to get attention and link you as the sponsor. Others may be part of an ongoing “campaign” building on each other to continue actions on the part of the prospective consumer. Still others are produced to elicit a very specific response: immediate sales. Some call this “retail” advertising. This is supposed to stimulate immediate action on the part of the customer to buy something…now. An example would be a special sale that has a definite beginning and end. “One day only. Derf’s is offering all shoes in their Main Street store at 70% off regular prices. This is truly a gate-crasher’s special. Remember, the sale ends precisely at 6 p.m. tomorrow!” This is obviously designed to produce the immediate sales of shoes.

Sometimes it’s wise to have a brand-building ad in front of your audience every week, so they know you are still a pillar of the community; how to reach you; what you stand for; where you’re located. This type of advertising is usually only suggested when you have a long-established brand name that you’ve developed over years. You can then afford to simply “announce” your continued presence. Don’t try brand image advertising if you’re a start-up, or you have not yet built a strong reputation in the marketplace. Use announcement and informational ads to establish your identity and advantages. This can be where a great web site comes in handy. Use your print, radio or television ad to direct visitors to your web site. It should go without saying, that in every ad you produce from now on, always include your web site address.

Creativity is an important part of producing ads that work. However, being toocreative can be a trap; being not creative enough relegates you to the garbage can. Finding the best recipe can be tricky; but extremely rewarding. ©Copyright, Roy MacNaughton, 2007

Credit Card Securitization – An Overview

Securitization is the packaging of a chosen group of loans with a suitable level of credit improvement, and the redeployment of these packages to investors. Investors purchase the repackaged assets in the form of securities or loans, which are secured on the original pool and its connected income stream. Securitization thus changes illiquid assets into liquid ones.

A huge bulk of credit card securitization has been accomplished using two dissimilar vehicles - the individual trust and the master trust. The individual formation is a solitary pool of receivables sold to a trust and used for a single security. When the issuer plans to give out another security, it must assign a new group of card accounts and put up for sale the receivables in those accounts to a different trust.

The master trust constitution lets the issuer generate numerous securities from the same pool of receivables. The master trust acts as a pool of receivables to which receivables are added from time to time to give out more securities. The master trust allows the issuer-improved flexibility.

One of the exceptional characteristics of credit card securitization is the small cycle of the receivable (4-5 months). The standard amortization arrangement used in automobile loans, home loans and the like does not apply in case of credit cards. If the collections from the borrowers were to be passed straight to the investors, the investors would get paid in around 5-8 months.

This is neither advantageous nor cost-effective. Thus, an exclusive structure is worked out to give a longer life to the security compared to the normal settlement time of a credit card receivable. The technique involves dividing the receivables into finance costs and principal. While the finance fees are employed for paying the coupon on the security, the main settlement is dealt with in any of the two ways:

A. Revolving method: Under this process, the major repayment every month is given to the issuer for purchasing new receivables.

B. Controlled repayment: Under this construction, the main repayment is divided into controlled pre-fixed amortization and is utilized to retire the security over a set period, say a year. The surplus of main collection in any month is reinvested in purchasing new receivables with which the shortfall, in any month, is covered.

Another important characteristic of credit card securitization is the lack of asset support. Credit card receivables proffer no security in the possibility of cardholder non-payment. As a consequence, recoveries are restricted.

The main “players” in the cycle of securitization are:

Originator - This is the entity that either creates Receivables in the normal route of its business, or buys and collects portfolios of Receivables. Its counsel works intimately with counsel to the Underwriter/Placement Agent and the Rating Agencies in arranging the deal and organizing documents.

Issuer - It is the exclusive purpose entity, generally an owner trust, formed pursuant to a Trust Agreement between the Originator and the Trustee. It gives out the Securities and prevents taxation at the entity level.

Trustees - It is generally a bank or other entity sanctioned to act in such ability. The Trustee, selected pursuant to a Trust Agreement, holds the Receivables, gets payments on the Receivables and makes payments to the Security holders.

Investors - They are the final buyers of the Securities - usually banks, insurance companies, retirement funds and other “competent investors.” In a number of cases, the Securities are bought in a straight line from the Issuer, but more frequently the Securities are issued to the Originator or Intermediate SPE as compensation for the Receivables and then sold to the Investors, or in the case of a guarantee, to the Underwriters.

Family Fun Times

The Family is a very important thing in a child’s life. They need to be showed love and affection . If we spend time with our children maybe we can keep them from doing so many things wrong like drinking and doing drugs. You can get involved in their school functions and do extra things with them like joining cub scouts, playing baseball, soccer, going to the lake, going to Kentucky kingdom, or just doing things around the house together.

Try to have supper around the same time every night and have them sit at the table with you as a family and that will give you quality time together also. We joined cub scouts with our boys and we were in it for five years and let me tell you that was the best five years of our lives because their dad spent a lot of time with them because he was a leader and that gave them quality time to spend together. We went camping, fishing, had car races, went to the caves ,went to the museums,we had meetings and done all kinds of things when we were at the meetings.

You can take them to Kentucky kingdom and have a really fun time there because you can swim, ride rides, play games and have a picnic together and they will love that. We take our boys boating and fishing and they enjoy it. We try to go at least four times a week when they are off for the summer time. If they want to take a friend we let them because that way then the other child is not at home by their self either. There is another thing that is big with the kids now days that is paint ball guns. We all have paint ball guns and we have a field to build a fort and we all go up there and play we have a ball.

Paint ball guns gives the kids a chance to get even with the parents because they can hit them with paint balls and it be alright and the kids love that. They also have indoor paint ball fields in Kentucky that you can take the kids to when it is cold or rainy out and you want to go paint balling. I guess the whole ideal is to spend as much time with our children as we can because once we are gone all they will have is memories and we want them to be good ones right.

Futuristic Car Design

What is in a car? And what is especially in car design? Perhaps you hanker for the newest, latest, sleekest look or perhaps you simply think that futuristic looks are plain odd. Design can also be fuel efficient.

Car design teams such as the one in Mercedes-Benz often look for new designs for next-generation appeal. This time around, it is all about fuel efficiency- and new sci-fi looks. Mercedes-Benz took its inspiration from something a little odd this time around- the tropical box fish.

The car is rather small, and has the sci-fi feel to it. The four cylinder gas-saving machine will return an amazing 84 miles per gallon at the constant speed of 54 miles per hour. This could be revolutionary as far as gas efficiency goes in new cars- a milestone in the industry. It can achieve the speed of 62 miles per hour in around 8 seconds- not bad at all.

The code-named ‘Bionic’ won’t be coming to a dealership near you, but it will heavily influence the design of future cars to come. The concept car was mainly for show, and to demonstrate new complicated fuel cell designs that save you money at the gas station.

No on is for sure when we will see changes such as this, but coming from Mercedes-Benz, it isn’t going to be cheap. Even at four cylinders- this car itself would cost much more than the average car. Expect 5 years at the latest to enjoy the gas-saving technology.

Let’s see if other manufacturers will follow suit.
