Charter Flight - Hiring a Plane

Charter flight - hiring a plane and a pilot for travel to a specific destination - goes all the way back to 1913 when an enterprising pilot started carrying passengers between San Francisco and Oakland (the only other alternative in those days before the Bay Bridge was a slow-moving ferryboat), it was actually the federal government who made the first use of charter flight in the sense of hiring individuals and small companies. The year was 1918, and the purpose was to carry the mail for corporate business and banking interests. The reason was to reduce the “float time” on checks during which funds were unavailable. By 1925, airmail was being carried on a regular schedule.

Corporate jet travel for executive travel has roots that predate the development of a viable jet engine - all the way back to the 1920’s, in fact when virtually all powered aircraft still used piston engines and propellers. The first private aircraft intended for business use was the 1932 Beech Model 17 Staggerwing. This sleek-looking aircraft epitomized futuristic, art-deco design, with retractable landing wheels and a luxuriously-appointed interior that featured mohair-cushioned seats with leather trim and room for five passengers. This was followed up in 1937 with the Beech Model 18 Twin. It was the first aircraft designed especially for business charter flight, and 7,000 were built and sold over the next thirty-two years.

When it came out in 1958, the Gulfstream I considered the finest aircraft for charter fight yet built, and its $1 million dollar price tag did not prevent it from gaining a significant market share. Although later this aircraft and its successor, the Gulfstream II were later retrofitted with jet engines and renamed the Gulfstream 100 and 200 respectively, when it comes to corporate jet travel, the name most people remember is Lear.

The 1964 Lear Jet was the first private jet manufactured and mass-produced for the general civilian market. Today, its descendant, the Lear Jet 60 is one of the most common corporate jets in use.

Other business and corporate jets include the Gulfstream IV-SP, which not only features oak furnishings, leather sofas and a soundproof interior, it is capable of circumnavigating the globe in 37 hours. The Cessna Citation X is capable of carrying 12 passengers in comfort at speeds of nearly 1000 kilometers per hour, making it the fastest production aircraft made.

Along with the increase in comfort and capability have also come steep increases in price and upkeep costs, which is why companies find it more cost-effective to simply chart flights on corporate jets on an as-needed basis. A charter flight is not only more cost-effective, it can also result in significant tax savings for your company as well!

30th Wedding Anniversary Party Games - Making Your Day a Pearler

When organizing your 30th wedding anniversary, party games can add loads of fun to the occasion. You can reminisce about times past, remember what the big day was like or just let your hair down!

“PEARL-DIVING” 30TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PARTY GAME

This 30th wedding anniversary party game is truly memorable, and fantastic if your party is likely to be raucous affair! Since 30 years marks your Pearl anniversary, why not go ‘diving for pearls’? Prior to the party, prepare a large batch of a sloppy or gooey food - Jello, oatmeal, cookie dough or mashed potato all work well. Divide the mixture among several large bowls (one for each team), and conceal an even number of “pearls” (small plastic beads) in each bowl. Players divide into teams, and one player from each team is the “pearl diver” - they must immerse their hands in the goo to remove as many pearls as possible in 45 seconds. A messier - and much funnier - alternative is to make the “pearl divers” use only their face to search for pearls. The team with the most pearls after 45 seconds wins this 30th wedding anniversary party game.

“NAME THE LOGO” 30TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PARTY GAME

Many 30th wedding anniversary party games allow guests to reminisce about the year in which they or their friends were married; this is one such example. Browse the internet for logos of 10 or 15 quintessential products from 30 years ago. Copy and paste these onto a single page, and print enough copies to give your guests one each. Guests must try and guess which product each logo is advertising; the person who gets the most answers correct is the winner of this 30th wedding anniversary party game.

Asian Wedding Favors

Asian wedding favors can be used to highlight a wedding with an oriental flare. The most obvious wedding favor would be fortune cookies. These are available in the traditional style or chocolate dipped. You can further personalize this option with the fortune. How about adding a special phrase or saying that may have been featured in the wedding ceremony, or adding you’re names and wedding date is another way to personalize the fortune cookies.

You could also put different wedding favors in the variety of colors and sizes available in the Chinese take out boxes. There are Japanese favor boxes filled with Jordan almonds or fortune cookies, to further emphasize your Asian theme. There is a take out box that comes with a chocolate dipped fortune cookie, red ribbon accents and red sticker that says “double happiness”.

Oriental snap purses are a great way to accent your table. The snap closure makes them secure enough to hold an edible wedding favor, or even a place card. You could also put a shot glass with some water and rocks and hold a few stems of bamboo in it to create a great wedding table favor (it would need to be stabilized to avoid toppling over) for an Asian theme.

You can also get Asian “love” coasters or place card holders which come with matching place cards. You might prefer the Asian brocade box, which when lined with plastic film will allow you to include a flower or plant arrangement that will be an impressive guest favor!

An Asian brocade slipper is a great choice to add a little trinket or other gift for your guests at an Asian themed wedding. And for your edible sweet favors, you could accentuate the theme further with a porcelain Asian spoon accompanied by a personalized Asian themed thank you card/tag.

10 Steps To Success In Direct Sales

Every year thousands of men and women across America sign on with direct selling firm-Tupperware, Amway, or a cosmetic company-hoping to make money enough for new draperies, a new davenport, or some new clothes. They sell a little merchandise to a few relatives and close friends. Then they are through. They quit before they give themselves a chance to learn the basics of success in sales. “I am simply not a born salesperson,” they often say.

No one is born a salesperson, any more than one is born a doctor or born a lawyer. Sales is a profession. To be successful in any profession one must learn not only the basic techniques, but also how to apply those techniques. Success in sales makes use of all the abilities one is born with, plus all those acquired through education and experience.

If you are looking for a career opportunity or “extra income” to help with the family budget, direct selling offers you dream-fulfilling possibilities. However, you must give yourself time to learn the techniques of sales. Ask yourself. “How long does a doctor to be study? A lawyer to be study?”

WHAT IS DIRECT SELLING?

Direct selling is marketing a product directly to the consumer with no middleman involved. Most reliable firms are members of the National Association of Direct Selling Companies. They bring to the public fine products that are modestly priced in order to insure mass consumption.

Most direct selling companies furnish their representatives with a starter kit and essential supplies below-cost prices. In many instances the investment is under $100.

There is an old adage which says “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Many of them were able to change their lives for the better. They took their families on nice vacations. They purchased a piano or an organ and provided music lessons for their children. They saved money for college education. They redecorated their homes, bought needed furniture. One highly successful saleslady built a new home.

The rewards of direct selling are many

1. You can be your own boss.
2. You can set your own hours.
3. You can own your own businesses with little or no investment.
4. You can pay yourself more than any boss would ever pay you.
5. You can give yourself regular raises as your business grows.

It is only fair to tell you that there are failures, too. There are people who will not work for themselves. When working for a boss, they rise early, are well-groomed, and get to the office on time. However, when they are their own boss, they are still in a bathrobe, drinking one more cup of coffee at 11:00 A.M.

If you can be your own boss and discipline yourself to do what has to be done when it has to be done, direct selling offers a most unusual earning opportunity.

THE TEN STEPS

Here are ten steps that will assure your success:

1. BE A GOAL SETTER. What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to save for college education for your children? A new car? A new home? You can have whatever you want, but you must want it enough to do the things that have to be done to get it. Whatever your goal, write it down and set a target date for reaching it. Divide the time period into blocks of achievement that are reachable. Work consistently toward accomplishing each day, each week, each month what you set out to do. Goal-setting is a must in every area of life. Little is ever accomplished without definite goals.

2. BE A LIST MAKER. Each evening list all the things you want to get done the following day. That gives you an organized approach to each day. As each task is finished, mark it off your list. It is amazing how much gets done when one works with a “things-to-do” list. Also, have a notebook listing appointments, potential clients, repeat clients, and referrals, and keep it with you at all times. You will be adding to it constantly.

3. BE ENTHUSIASTIC. Enthusiasm is the high-octane “fuel” that salespeople run on. Enthusiasm generates its own energy. Energy and good health are synonymous with busy, happy people, people who are achieving.

4. RECOGNIZE THAT THE MAGIC WORD IN SALES IS “ASK.” In direct sales we don’t have to wait for business to come to us. We create our own business by asking for it. Ask for appointments, then you can do business. Ask for business, then you will close sales. Ask for referrals, then you always have a full list of potential clients. Be quietly, yet firmly aggressive.

5. EXPECT NO’S. Realize that no’s are not personal. In sales, as perhaps nowhere else, the law of averages works. Every no gets you closer to a yes. Keep track of your ratio. It will help improve your techniques. Are you getting ten no’s to one yes? Is your ratio five to one? Remember, the yes’s are your income. Also remember that “no” does not necessarily mean “no.” Often a “no” is simply a stall for more time to think. It may be a request for more information about your product or your service. What your client is actually buying is assurance. Assure here by your helpful attitude and your complete honesty, that you want what is best for her. She will most likely respect you and do business with you.

6. SCHEDULE TIME WISELY. A schedule is the roadmap by which salespeople travel. It takes the frustration out of the day. It assures that the necessary things get done and get done on time. Plan your work then work your plan.

7. BE POSITIVE IN YOUR ATTITUDE. Success in sales, as in all areas of life is 90 percent attitude and 10 percent aptitude. All of us must work at developing habits of constructive thinking. I am proud to be a salesperson. Sales make the wheels of our economy turn. Bernard Baruch, advisor to several presidents, is quoted as saying, “If every salesperson sat down and took no orders for twenty-four hours, it would bankrupt our country!” Every company that manufactures any kind of product depends upon salespeople to move that product. Without salespeople business would be paralyzed.

Remember, sales is one of the highest paid of all professions. Statistics show that good salespeople enjoy incomes far above the average.

8. HAVE AN OFFICE AREA. Most direct salespeople work from their own homes, but it is essential to have a place where you can work in a organized and efficient manner. An office plus a strict working schedule gives you dignity. Both are absolutely essential for efficient operation and accurate record keeping, so important to the success of any business.

9. BE INVOLVED. Most sales organization offer contests to stimulate production. Include winning contests as part of your business goals. Contests make your business fun as well as adding considerable dollar value to your income.

10. LEARN TO HANDLE MONEY INTELLIGENTLY. A regular nine-to-five job usually means a paycheck at the end of the second week. Direct sales “reps” handle money constantly. Direct sales is instant income and constant income. Therefore. it is absolutely necessary to become an efficient money manager.

Deposit every penny collected from clients into a checking account set up especially for its business. Since bank statements show an exact record of all monies collected, and business expenses can be verified by canceled checks, record keeping becomes simple and accurate. Everything except a few “petty cash” transactions can be directly taken from bank statements.

Money saved regularly and put at interest, soon develops a second income in addition to earned income. A long-term goal, which is realistic in direct sales, is to be able to live in retirement off the interest earned on savings.

Would financial security mean a lot to you? If so, ask yourself these questions:
* Am I honest?
* Do I really like people?
* Am I willing to learn?
* Am I willing to work?
* Am I capable of being my own boss?

If your answers are yes, to find a good product for the direct sales market, one that you like, one that fills the need of a lot of people, and go to work for yourself! .You can turn dreams into reality.

History of Chocolate Easter Confection

The Mayans and Aztecs were two ancient people groups of Southern Mexico and Guatemala. What did they have to do with the history of Easter? This is where chocolate originated, and tied to the history of chocolate Easter confections provides a rich holiday legacy.

The Mayans and Aztecs discovered that the seeds of the cacao tree can be processed into chocolate. These early peoples mixed the ground cacao seeds with spices to create a beverage. The Aztecs used cacao seeds as money, and they exacted cacao seeds from their citizens and their conquered. In Aztec culture, only royalty and elite could drink chocolate, but in Mayan culture more people had access to chocolate. Both cultures used chocolate as religious offerings and during sacred rituals.

Spanish conquistadors, after exploring Mexico, brought the seeds with them back to Spain, and the cacao seeds eventually spread all over Europe. It was in Europe that the ground cacao seeds were mixed with sugar, and a new taste sensation was born. At this time in Europe only the rich could afford to drink chocolate.

The Industrial Revolution brought modern technology to the making of chocolate, and it was at this time that technology made it possible for chocolate to be eaten in its solid form. It could also be mass produced, making it more accessible to a wider audience. Even today machines are used to sort and clean the seeds, then weigh them. After this they are roasted and cleaned still further. At this point they get ground and through this process they are liquefied, then separated into cocoa solids and cocoa butter. Although each chocolate manufacturer has their own specific recipes for making chocolate, they all essentially mix together chocolate liquor, sugar, condensed milk and cocoa butter to create chocolate crumb. The crumb is pressed and forms chocolate paste, which is then blended in a large vat. At this stage, the chocolate is heated and cooled several times to temper it, making is shiny. After it is tempered, it can be poured into molds, forming all the familiar shapes in which chocolate comes. It can also be poured over flavored centers or the shaped chocolate can be filled with liquid. Finally, a machine is used to package the chocolate for sale.

The first solid chocolate Easter eggs were created in Germany and France around 1800. After this came the formation of hollow chocolate eggs, and with modern machines that could mass produce the confections, over time they became one of the best-loved Easter confections around the globe. To satisfy our worldwide sweet tooth requires the manufacture of ninety million chocolate Easter bunnies every year. Today’s Easter baskets, filled with Easter gifts, are a chocolate-filled holiday tradition.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars

Oatmeal is a heart-healthy food. The fiber in oatmeal helps to remove the bad cholesterol from your system. Americans also do not typically eat enough fiber, and oatmeal adds fiber to the diet. Plus, chocolate is now known to be a great anti-oxidant.

But the bottom line is — these Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars are just plain good! My husband loves them and could eat the whole pan by himself.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
3 cups dry oatmeal (I have used both quick-cooking or old-fashioned)

Cream the shortening, butter and sugars. Stir in the eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter. Stir in remaining ingredients. Put in a greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool. Frost with chocolate frosting.

Chocolate Frosting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 2/3 cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons milk
2/3 cup chocolate chips
Boil the sugar, butter and milk for 30 seconds. Stir in the chocolate chips until smooth. Pour the frosting over the oatmeal bars and allow to cool before cutting.
Don’t Quit Your Restaurant Job, Yet
Whose business lunch is it anyway?
Most restaurant workers have worked lunches. We’ve each served countless customers conducting business while eating lunch. In my early years, business lunch customers seemed to be more of an inconvenience than an opportunity. It was difficult to offer service when they constantly talked.
One day, a coworker was waiting on two airline pilots. They were discussing the shortage of good flight attendants. My friend, the waitress, asked what it would take to try and become a flight attendant. A few weeks later, she was leaving to begin her training with a well known regional airline.
Being a flight attendant may or may not be your dream job. The point is, that your next job, career, business opportunity, etc. may be right in front of you ordering the Grilled Salmon.
Restaurant employment (or any customer service job) allows us the opportunity to serve hundreds or thousands of customers a year. Each one of these customers is a potential employer, business partner, reference, etc. Keep your eyes and ears open for opportunity. When the opportunity presents itself to have a discussion with a customer about their line of work, listen and learn. Find a way to let them know that you’re open to new possibilities for employment.
Almost every customer you provide service to has a job or career. Each of these people may know of an opening within their company or be looking to hire someone themselves. Because you’ve provided exceptional service to them, they may love to talk more with you about it. If a customer gives you a lead on a job, make sure to ask if you can use them as a reference.
Many of your customers are also meeting and networking with others during lunch and dinner. Much like you probably work as a team in your job, these people exhibit the skills of teamwork. Begin to pay attention to the business cards being exchanged during these meetings. If a customer offers you a business card for any reason, I recommend sitting down that day and writing a card to let them know you appreciate their patronage and, in addition, what your aspirations are. You could receive a call or email from them letting you know they’d like to refer you to someone or talk more about a possible opportunity with them.
Another explosive industry is Network Marketing. You may have witnessed people viewing a small flip chart presentation in your restaurant. Many Network Marketing Companies use a 20 minute flip chart presentation to introduce potential business partners to their industry. These companies offer an enormous variety of services, such as skin care, vitamins, greeting cards, scrap-booking, prepaid legal, etc. The start up cost is minimal (usually $100-$400). The key is to find a product or service that you can be passionate about, and you’re a business owner! Never hesitate to approach a customer and ask about what they’re presenting… network marketers are ALWAYS looking for motivated business partners.
The opportunities within your restaurant or customer service job are endless. Today is a great day to begin looking and listening for those opportunities. Keep your ears and eyes open and while you’re there, continue to give the best service you can. You’ll never know if the customer asking for a special request is actually interviewing you to see if you would be perfect to head up a new division at YOUR DREAM JOB INCORPORATED!
Isaac Allen (ordinaryisaac) is an entrepreneur, writer and motivational speaker. Compare and Contrast the Anxiety Disorder That Afflicted Freud and Tesla
Sigmund Freud (1856-1939)
Freud developed and taught psychoanalysis, which is a form of psychotherapy. Psychoanalysis is associated with the couch, the note pad and the silent listener. Contrary to popular belief, Freud was not the father of psychiatry. Sigmund Freud suffered from Panic Disorder at the time when he wrote his famous papers on anxiety neurosis. He had symptoms of an Anxiety Disorder and worried a great deal about his ’spells’. He had many medical evaluations for them. Nothing of a serious medical nature could be found wrong with him. He was told that his symptoms were ‘nervous’ in origin. Freud was not satisfied with what he was told. In his quest for a fuller explanation, he searched for a psychological cause. He built an elaborate model based on psychology of the mind and the role of internal conflicts in causing and maintaining anxiety. This model has preoccupied everyone studying anxiety for most of the century.
Nikola Tesla (1856-1943)
Tesla was a genius and perhaps the greatest inventor the world has ever known. He invented a device to harness alternating electrical current, radio, fluorescent lighting, the bladeless turbine, developed the fundamentals of robotics, computers and missile science. Many of the “modern conveniences of life” are a result of Tesla’s inventions.
At 5 years of age, following death of his older brother, he developed many phobias and compulsions and in general became a “perfectionist” - subjecting himself to iron discipline in order to excel. He was also plagued by panic attack - like symptoms; strong flashes of light that marred the sight of real objects and “shooting flames” through the body. The intensity seemed to increase as he got older.
“This caused me great discomfort and anxiety”, said Tesla, “none of the students of psychology or physiology whom I have consulted could ever explain satisfactorily these phenomena …”
Side Effects With Using Hydrocortisone Cream As Eczema Treatment
In my teens, I was first introduced to using hydrocortisone cream for my eczema treatment. Since then, every time I had an outbreak, I would turn to it. This continued for more than ten years. However, in the last few years, I noticed that increasingly applying hydrocortisone creams on my affected skin is not as effective as before. In fact, it got harder and harder to control my eczema. My affected skin also got thinner and I would get abrasions very easily. I then decided to find out the truth behind the side effects of using hydrocortisone creams.
Hydrocortisone cream (1%) is one kind of topical corticosteroids and is easily available at your local store without prescription. They are packaged in various forms such as creams and lotions and are marketed under different brands.
Corticosteroid creams are topical skin applications which are used for skin itching, redness, discomfort and other skin-related problems. They come in varying strengths. Stronger ones are only available via prescription by your doctor. Corticosteroids are referred to as steroids. The term steroids often have a negative ring to it because of a number of side effects that this drug is known to bring. Corticosteroids for eczema are different from anabolic steroids, which are used by some athletes to increase their endurance.
However, just like any other type of drugs, hydrocortisone cream for eczema treatment also has its own side effects especially if you do not administer it properly. You should always check to see if you are allergic to steroids in the first place. Ask your doctor if in doubt. Secondly, as I have found out, prolonged use can cause skin to thin out. This is a condition known as atrophy. Because your skin is now more sensitive due to thinning out, you are more prone to skin abrasion and infection. That is why if you have eczema and have used hydrocortisone cream for weeks or months, you are more susceptible to a fungi and bacteria infection. With an infection, your eczema symptoms are sure to worsen.
You also get the appearance of stretch marks with prolonged use. Your blood vessels swell and there is loss of skin pigment in the affected areas. Your bloodstream may also absorb the strong steroids and this can affect other body systems. In the worst case scenario, it can also suppress the production of your natural adrenaline, thus causing you to be prone to a lot of illness including Cushing’s syndrome.
In all situations, it is in your best interest to minimize the use of hydrocortisone creams or corticosteroids for your eczema treatment. If you need to use them, do so sparingly and use only as directed. If you find that your medication is not working within a week, stop its usage and see a skin doctor right away. You may need a stronger prescription. It is far better to treat your eczema with an appropriate strength medication than to use one that is not effective. A stronger prescription also allows you to get your eczema treated within a shorter period of time. In addition, look for alternative eczema treatment options which are natural and potentially produce fewer or no side effects.
Evelyn Lim has been suffering from eczema skin symptoms for several years. She now spends her time researching about her condition and reviewing natural skin care products as well as natural therapies. Find out how she recently got herself treated in her newsletter here at http://www.eczematreatmentsecrets.com
