Gone are the days when a pregnant woman could not appear on television, a magazine shoot of a topless model no longer evokes a gasp and the definition of marriage is re-defined. However, despite the exponential rise in the divorce rate, it would seem that divorce talk is the last taboo.

At a recent business luncheon, a female executive learned of my recent divorce. With a furtive glance sideways, she turned to me and whispered, “I am divorced, too”. Why was she whispering? Furthermore, why was I made to feel that we were discussing something so shameful that it could only be discussed in the privacy of our own female company?

Divorce is normally a traumatic event, and it helps to talk about traumatic events. Yet, unlike other life challenges, it seems that the world does not want to hear another divorcee “singing the blues”.

Why do people avoid involvement in divorce talk, even on a superficial basis? Do they think it’s viral, such that it could be transmitted by communication?

We are taught throughout our lives that it is a positive attribute to recognize a mistake and rectify it. Yet marriage to an unsuitable partner and a resultant divorce appears to be the one mistake that is unforgivable, in the views of the community, notwithstanding the frequency and legality of the event.

Here is a challenge to the community-at-large: instead of making a divorced person run from the shadows and restrict their confidence to family and insulated support groups, how about we recognize the pain and suffering of this event, and bring “Divorce Talk” into the public sphere? Let’s dissolve this last taboo!

What can a divorced person do, to help bring about a change in attitude on this issue?

Do what you need to do to expunge the anger and sadness you may feel, over the event. At the same time, do not allow anyone to make you feel like your experience is less traumatic than it is. Don’t be ashamed of your change in marital status, and don’t be ashamed of any decisions that you made, or that were foisted upon you, in regards to your single status.

Keep your head high throughout the process and maintain your dignity! If friends prove unsupportive, make an effort to make new friends, who can understand and deal with your change in life.

Dilemma of forced repetitions in extreme bodybuilding is old as this sport itself. Most bodybuilders are grown up with mentality “no pain no gain”. That is why majority of them can not or will not stop training even when muscles are so tired they can not do a single repetition more. That is why the so called “training partner” of “helper” function has been invented. If I do one or two repetitions more, the pressure on my muscles will increase and so will increase the growth of the muscle. Right?

No it is not right!

Let us take a deeper look into this subject. What does that extra forced repetition mean? It simply means you have done it but with less effort and less power than previous repetitions that you have done without training partners’ helping hand. Muscles were subject to lower tension. You did not accomplish that weight with the same strength you would have when weightlifting alone. In other words you have completed the repetition with “less” weight than planned.

Now try to compare this doing with the commonly known and bullet proved rule in bodybuilding which says that muscles are growing only if they are under maximal pressure. The answer is clear. Two or even more forced repetitions have just caused muscle tiredness without any positive effect at all. A tired muscle can not be brought to its maximal charge as it simply can not lift that weight anymore.

One has to realize that those kind of forced repetitions lead to early damages, as muscle in that moment looses its natural coordination. Training partner is an extremely important person for a professional bodybuilder. But his role is not to lift weights instead of you. His role is to encourage, motivate you to complete quality trainings and achieve better results. Training partner is there to help you lift more than you would dare if training alone. It is wrong to use a training partner to help you damage your muscles. You will never be able to wrap up that training with 100% effectiveness.

Have you ever heard the expression, “You are what you think?” It means that if you think positively, you will enjoy positive results, but if you think negatively your results will be negative.

I’ve been reading a book that reveals the secret of the millionaire mind and it’s quite revealing. We might tend to think that the ’secret’ is something special that makes people rich, but it’s not. It stems from having self esteem and confidence, which goes toward making you a positive person.

Positive people, for some reason, tend to make good decisions that get them to their goal.

Whether we are negative or positive, it will show in how we think through a situation.

Let’s take a simple goal like mowing the lawn. Let’s suppose you’ve never cut a lawn before and don’t know the first thing about it. What do you do?

First, you’ll look out and realize it needs cutting. A negative person would just sit back and say, “I don’t know how to do that,” whereas a positive person would think, “I have to learn how to do that or else the property will look terrible.”

The difference between the positive and the negative person is that the positive person doesn’t just look at the problem. He sees it as something that requires learning a skill and getting it done.

The secret of the millionaire mind is to focus on the goal, rather than on the problem. This is possible when positive thought rules. Those of us with a positive attitude get things done, one way or another. We have the self-confidence and the courage to move forward, to learn new things, to apply what we learn.

A millionaire mind doesn’t take no for an answer. At every obstacle, it constantly seeks solutions. Plans are made and put into action. Persistence and determination go hand in hand to create the desired success.

Knowing how to set goals and make good plans to achieve them is crucial. Having self-esteem plays a role here, because without it we doubt our abilities. In this frame of mind, we set unachievable goals to reinforce our beliefs that we are incapable (or unworthy) of becoming rich. Or worse, we just don’t set any goals at all.

The first step to a profitable commodity trade is coming up with an accurate commodity futures forecast. Next is to select the right trading vehicle to turn the forecast into cash. There are countless option and futures strategy combinations to choose from. For a particular market forecast, some vehicles will work and some will not. Do I use options or futures contracts or a combination? Here’s my tips to increase your odds with the overall trade selection process.

Let’s look at some methods.

First let’s make up an UNBIASED two-month time-cycle forecast for each of the twenty-two major commodities. “Unbiased” means we try not to pay attention to the commodity name or media news, but rely only on the time cycle patterns. Also study the major trend, double and triple tops and other considerations. When in doubt, the forecast takes precedence over all other indicators.

The next step is to narrow down the twenty-two forecasts to ones that show promise. A time cycle forecast that shows a strong up-move or down-move gets put in the “possible” pile.

The time cycle forecast should be based on at least four combined individual time cycles that sometimes synchronize to produce big moves. The forecast gives time duration as well as direction. They may derived using spectral analysis and combined with a neural network, if one is so inclined; or a simple pair of dividers estimating lengths will do. The question is how strong the move will be. If all cycles are in synchronization, look for a strong, directional price move. If the cycles are conflicting, then a choppy range is more likely. Knowing when to expect a choppy market is valuable information for option writing strategies when collecting eroding option premiums.

Let’s say our initial screening gives us three market candidates forecast to trend strongly up and three to go sharply down. We now have two categories with six markets. We want to eliminate the markets that are often redundant, like soybeans and soybean meal, or silver and gold, etc.

For the trending candidates, eliminate the markets that are approaching major tops or bottoms or may have problems getting through an obvious barrier. Trending bull or bear markets that look old and tired are also dropped.

We may want to sell high priced option premiums. Take a peek at the option premiums for each candidate to see if they are historically low. If so, eliminate them for option selling.

Finally, if you are left with more than three total candidates, narrow them down again using the raw time-cycle forecast. Remember that the cycles takes precedent over other methods.

We are now down to a few markets. Next, one market at a time, use a piece of option analysis software to search for the best strategies based on the expected market move. Compare these option to option combinations against futures to options combinations for trending markets. For selling options, we will look at option spreads. Generally, spreads are used only for risk reduction, if needed.

For each forecast, there can be many strategies to screen. The computer does all the grunt work. Screen the choices down to a strategy for each forecast that is a compromise between risk, profit and simplicity. Use your market experience and intuition to pick the very best one. In hindsight there is always a best strategy we could have used. Keep this is mind when narrowing down the choices. When finished, we want to have two to three potential trades to work with. We call the selected few, “high probability, low risk trades.”

In the end you will have an optimized entry, exit and vehicle strategy for these selected market forecasts. This is the type of planning you want to do. If the trending trades work out well, you will want to implement other strategies that let you lock in profits while still holding for the big move. With the option selling strategies, you want to be able to make “adjustments” if things start out poorly. If thing go well, take profits and resell the options again if the premiums deflate quickly and leave the next strike or month series attractive. This assumes the time cycle forecast is still predicting a continued favorable move.

Remember there is more to planning a trade than just coming up with a forecast. The market may move as forecast but you can still lose by choosing the wrong trading vehicles. Pick the right vehicles and strategies that will allow you to stay in the market without excessive fear, but still carrying risk. You NEED to take on risk or the market will not pay you for your services. In addition, the vehicle has to move far enough to make a profit without letting the expense of protection eat it up. Protection can come in the form of option premiums, stop loss orders and spread strategies. Matching a forecast to a strategy is an important skill needed to succeed in trading commodities.

One last point. I often see traders making trades “just in case” the market goes up, or “just in case” the market goes down, etc. based on media news and general fears. Unless you have a strong conviction for market direction or lack of it, (a good forecast) just throwing money at good strategies will eat you up in expenses, in the end.

It’s really back to the old tripod. You need three legs to stand. The forecast must be good and have a real reason behind it. Just because the news says so is not enough. Next you need the correct strategy and trading vehicle. Vehicles, risk and survival are part of the vehicle strategy. And finally, you need the faith and confidence to carry out the plan to completion. There is a fine line between stubbornness and sticking to a plan. That’s why we need to know when to bend the rules. Rules need to be bent only when it involves matters of survival. Other matters are usually noise and our own demons attempting to unravel a well thought out program.

You don’t have to be perfect. Just plan and execute your program better than the majority and you’re well on your way.

It seems unheard of these days for an attractive person with a job and a life ahead of them even though they are recently divorced to consider remaining single and celibate for the rest of their life. What would inspire a person with opportunity to re- marry not to do so? What could be so attractive that could encourage a person to choose a single life? Come and read my reason.

My wife left me fourteen years ago, re married eight years ago, and for those past eight years I have not seen my 15 year old son. Since my wife left, in recent times since I have come to love myself I have had four women ask me to consider marrying them. Each of them were friends and when I told them that I couldn’t do as they wish three of them didn’t want to be friends anymore. That was sad.

Let me tell you that my life is exciting, my days are full, I have a purpose, a destiny and dreams that I am seeing coming true and the presence and peace of God has never been as strong in my life then it has in the last two weeks.

As a male who has already had a child, I have a lot of happiness. Though I know I don’t see him now, I am confident as an adult he will seek me out and I forgive my wife for stopping him seeing me. I did my bit to populate the world.

As a Christian I am set apart for God and I am excited to be like Paul and to walk with God as a single man. He admonished those that would want to serve the Lord that being single is best though he said that this is hard for some and if lust is too much for them they should marry.

Well let me say folks it takes a disciplined Christian life as male to conquer the sex drive and the compulsion to lust. In the Old Testament somewhere there is a verse that says that the anointing breaks the yoke. This means if you can get into the state where the presence of God in your life is strong then any addiction or bondage will be broken in my simple language.

It is such a joy to be a male that God takes his sex drive away as the anointing flows in his life. It is such a joy to walk down the street without wanting to take women to bed or undressing them with your eyes. It’s such a joy to be able to speak to a lady and not be distracted by thoughts of wondering if you can date her.

God wants all of us devoted to Him. To choose to be single so that you can devote all your time to serving the Lord is a big decision yet it pays handsome dividends. When God knows you want to serve him fulltime he gives you big dreams and gets to work training you for something that it going to be very effective for him. A man or woman that chooses to lay down their life for God will always be rewarded in ways that will more then compensate.

It’s not that I don’t love woman. It’s that I want my time to be fully devoted to typing articles, speaking and exhorting by brothers and sisters in the Lord. Instead of spending an hour with my wife each night telling her how the day was, I want to have that hour to be speaking to the Lord. Instead of having a wife lonely at home when I am away for a month I want to have people happy where I am knowing that I am free to stay in their city for as the Lord wills.

The love that I have for Jesus far surpasses many people that I know. My life is crucified for Christ. My only interest is to do his will and it seems that the more I have divorced myself from the things of the world, like the desire to own things, and buying things, the more he has given me to do and to spend my money on that is going to save souls and encourage Christians to live a better life.

What wife could live with a husband that spends his money on reaching souls every week and who does not agree with buying expensive things when cheap things can be worn instead? What wife could live with a husband who has no interest in a car, no interest in a nice house of his own and who teaches his children to live for Christ in a life of self denial?

Could you live with me?

Could you cope with a husband that has no interest in fashions, the media, the popular shows on TV, no interests outside of serving God with every cent he has and every hour available?

Are you a lady that could have my zeal? Living in cheap clothes with a cheep car and a rented government housing cheap rented unit. Could you live with a man that can’t walk down a street without giving to the poor and who engages total strangers in conversation whenever you are out?

Are you a lady that wants to serve the Lord full time with all your heart, mind, time and money? Do you think God could raise you up in that ministry?

Sure he could!

Do you want to serve God and be a better use for him?

What about you men? Which of you could conceive being single from this point on and serving the Lord in the future full time? Who would deny themselves a love with a new woman for God so they can be more effective?

Do you have a vision?
Do you want to serve God?
Can you get excited about God using you in a mighty way?

God wants to use you all. He has a ministry you can all be a part of if you can only give him some of your time for free without wanting to be paid.

I challenge you seek the Lord in a way that you can serve Him. Ask him for the gift to serve him as a single person! It is a life that is rewarding.

** So what elements does the romantic comedy need?

When we read or watch a romantic comedy we know that our hero and heroine’s worlds are about to collide, suffusing conflict along the way and finally allowing the pair to get it together at the end, realizing that they complete one another.

The most important thing to remember about a rom com is it’s all about the journey. In a romantic comedy, we don’t usually have a list of suspects and then have to decide who the murderer is. Rather, it is the journey the hero and heroine have to take that’s crucial. There should be conflict along the way, that’s a given, but there should be some laughs as well. By this, I don’t mean that every page has to be rip-roaringly funny. It might just be something that makes the reader smile, a comic image perhaps.

** Don’t turn all your characters into caricatures!

There is a danger when writing the romantic comedy to want to make all your characters funny! Don’t. Think about it, when you watch a comedy show or movie, how many of the cast are actually playing for laughs? Not all of them, you can bet. Don’t forget the straight guys.

There’s also a tendency to turn funny characters into caricatures by stereotyping them. For example, in Britain there’s a standing joke about the German on holiday in Spain, who gets up early to leave his towel on the sun bed to stake his claim! Or the Irishman who keeps saying things like: “Top of the morning!” or “Begorrah!” Not very true to life!

** Draw from real life

Sometimes I’ll include funny things that have happened to me in real life. For example, in my chick lit novella, Over The Edge, Katie Doyle and her friend go out nightclubbing and the friend on leaving the club, looks up at the sky and thinks she sees a square moon. This really happened to one of my inebriated friends. It turned out to be the neon sign on the top of a very large crane!

** Using real life characters

I have a confession to make, I draw some of my characters from real life as well. These usually end up being secondary characters. For example, in A Taste of Honey, Fran Santini’s father is a restaurant owner. A couple of years ago, I visited an Italian restaurant in Cardiff [I won't tell you which one it is] and the owner was such a character he inspired me to invent ‘Ronaldo Santini’. As soon as my mother and I entered the restaurant, he greeted us. “Beautiful Ladies. Please sit here.” He was so charming we ended up ordering a bottle of wine, staying for a full three course lunch and paying much more than we would normally do at a restaurant! I haven’t been there since. It will be somewhere I’ll go in future for a treat.

* * Inner Conflict

To up the ante, your protagonists need to have an inner conflict as well as external conflict that the story’s romantic relationship confronts and ultimately resolves.

You’ll probably gather by now that I eat out. A lot. I was inspired to invent ‘The Usherwood Sisters’ after seeing two elderly sisters who eat out every Saturday at the same restaurant in my hometown. They always appear to eat the same meal and finish it off with a coffee. I gave them some thought and guessed they were the sort of people who didn’t like having their routines upset!

The main prerequisites for writing the romantic comedy are: having a sense of humour and drawing on everyday humorous incidents, the rest is down to good writing skills.

The symptoms of Crohn’s disease are often very confusing. They are often thought to be something else when they first appear, and it usually takes a while for the correct diagnosis to be made. By that time, the symptoms could be very painful indeed. Each person might tell you that the crohns symptom that bothers him or her the most is different from day to day, and will vary from person to person. Though many of the symptoms are troublesome, there are some that can be very serious from a health point of view.

Probably the worst crohns symptom would be rectal bleeding, though that can be debated. Rectal bleeding means that things are very serious inside, and that you must seek medical care as soon as you can. When bleeding occurs, this means that there is a bleeding ulcer somewhere, or a tear in the lining of your bowel or anus, and this can lead to huge problems. When things get that bad, chances are you need some sort of medial procedure to stop the bleeding. Your body may also be having huge problems absorbing nutrients that are needed to keep you fit and healthy.

Another symptom vying for the title of the worst symptom is when a patient starts to lose a lot of weight quickly. This happens when the intestines are unable to absorb nutrients from what you are eating, and begins to rely on fat stores for nutrition. This means that you need help immediately, and if something is not done, you could be in serious trouble. This often happens after you have noticed blood in your stool, and you may be having a lot of pain along with it. A lack of appetite will probably be happening as well, along with fatigue, and that only makes the problem worse.

You Still Invoke That “Honeymoon” Newness - Because so much of the world is just getting to know Panama, there’s an incredible sense of being a part of a “happening” here in Panama, like we are around some starlet just before she’s going to make it big.

You’re A Go Getter - You’re not some slow moving banana republic. Sure there are times when your less refined traits bubble to the surface, but by and large you are a shaker and a mover. Money flows around you act on ideas. No other Latin country is growing at the rate you are and I just know you have even greater potential.

You Know Your Finances - Who wants to date a deadbeat? Panama, you KNOW money. You lend, spend and borrow like a real first world nation. You even gave me money to buy my first home! Gracias.

Girl, You’ve Got Brains - As opposed to some other countries, Panama is extremely well educated and frighteningly so at the higher levels. So Refined! - You’re cultured. The music, theatre, fine dining. Frank would say, “you’re one classy broad.” And although you’re worldly, you are still very much YOU.

In The Middle Of Things - You have become a center for Latin and East-West trade. Players from all over the world are focusing on YOU. You’re just so magnetic!

A Tale Of Juxtapositions - Just when I think I’ve got you pegged, you throw another curve. You’ve got such an intoxicating mix of old and new, Caribbean and Spanish, Asian and South American, Indigenous and even Jewish. I love your modern high rises as much as the grass huts. With what other gal can I enjoy a $.50 beer or a $200 dinner?

An Interesting Past - The old history, the new history. All your tales are just so damned interesting, I could listen to you talk about yourself for hours! So Panama, I hope you’ll have me…because I’m stuck on you. Casey
