Colleges offer higher education in a number of specialized disciplines to students who have completed their higher secondary education. These courses are known as degree courses. As evidence of having successfully completed all the requirements of these courses the college presents the students with a certificate, known as college degree.

Colleges offer various types of college degrees. The most common is the Bachelor’s Degree, which is given in recognition of having successfully completed undergraduate studies. The period for obtaining a Bachelor Degree is three to four years. After completing the undergraduate studies students can opt to take up postgraduate studies. The college degree offered to such students is called Master’s Degree. Some students still continue with their education. The studies now involve intensive research and the students are required to expand the realm of existing knowledge. Successful students are awarded a Doctorate Degree called Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. in short). For a Doctorate Degree students have to work under instructors who have already acquired their Doctorate Degrees. Some colleges also offer Associate Degrees. This is meant for students who are not sure that they want to complete the studies required for a Bachelor’s Degree. They can study for two years for an Associate Degree and can later complete the course for a Bachelor’s Degree.

College degrees are offered in many disciplines. In the sciences degrees are offered in pure sciences such as physics and chemistry and in various branches of engineering. In the humanities degrees are offered in subjects such as economics, sociology and literature. Some colleges offer degrees in performing arts like music, dance and filmmaking. Degrees are also offered in professional disciplines like law, medicine and accountancy.

College degrees are very important because not only do they open the doors to preferred employment but also bring in respect for the degree holder.

Are you obese? A lot of people wonder because the stereotypes in the media really get people thinking about their appearance and if they are fat or at their ideal weight.

The general definition of obesity is if you are 30 percent over your ideal weight. This is where most people would like to know just what their ideal weight is of course.

Your ideal weight is a subject of much hoopla to me (I’ll put my view points on this after). Most doctors involved with obesity or weight loss deem ideal weight as ” A body mass index (BMI) of 25 up to 30 kg/m2.”

The centers for disease control and prevention list the following details for BMI and will let you see where your stand according to them:

Below 18.5 Under weight

18.5 - 24.9 Normal

25.0 - 29.9 Over weight

30.0 and Above Obese

So in order to know if you are obese you should supposedly know if your BMI is around 25 to 30 kg/m2. Lets figure out BMI then. Here is how you figure out your BMI by math:
BMI = (Your weight in pounds divided by (Height in inches by Height in inches) all multiplied by 703

Do you have it done? Good! So where did you end up? Are you obese? Are you starting to freak out a little? Okay, lets break for a second. Take a breath and let me tell you the low down.

I am a personal trainer; you can see pictures of what kind of shape I am in on the website. I am five foot nine inches and 182 pounds. I am usually around 10-14% body fat. I have a BMI of 26.9! According to all the doctors and some fitness experts out there, I guess I must be overweight and close to obese!

So what’s the deal then? Well like I said earlier, I have a little beef with BMI and obesity, as most people would quantify it. I think being over weight or obese should be gauged by your body fat percentage and not this ridiculous BMI. Let me explain why.

Well normal BMI readings are taking into account your whole body, bones, muscle, and fat. So even if you have barely any fat and can see your abs they think you are obese and not at your ideal weight, just like me. If you have a lot of muscle and little fat, you can still fail the BMI even if you are healthy and fit.

Now body fat percentage tests are a different story. The only thing looked at here is how much fat and muscle you have by percentages of your overall body weight. Obesity this way states that above 25% body fat for men is obese and above 32% body fat is obese for women.

If you come in on or around these figures, then you should get to work and apply some solid training and nutrition planning basics. Doing an actual body fat test will truly tell you where you are and where you should be because it is the fat amount and not the overall weight of a person that has detrimental health consequences.

You can get a body fat test done at any local gym or you can buy a cheap tester that will put you in the ballpark figure. Just make sure that you keep using the same method all the time, as you want to compare the change and not the actual figure. One method may differ from the other by as much as 3%. Small but still important if you are gauging all your hard work!

If you ask anyone who lives in Brooksville FL, there is no doubt why they call this quaint town home. I think this is a great question. I think that it reveals a flaw in our internet marketing efforts - and that is that we often assume that our clients are in the im niches. But in reality, I think most people online are in the non-im niches.

So how do you do it?

Well, first of all, I think that the method is the same, although the target audience is different. So the basics steps of creating a squeeze page, putting an autoresponder opt in form on it, and driving traffic to it are the same, so I won’t cover that here.

I think that the biggest difference is the obvious - the target niche. So when you advertise, when you run PPC ads, when you write articles and press releases, you have to do it in the niche of your choice.

I think that you can get just as much good traffic writing articles that are non-im than writing articles that are im related. All of the same rules of article writing apply - you have to use keyword optimization in your articles, you have to write prolifically, etc.

I am just a huge fan of article marketing, and in my opinion, article marketing is fad-proof. You see, the best articles, the ones that really generate traffic, are original articles written by individuals for the purpose of becoming an article. All the software methods of generating web content that eventually gets banned by the search engines simply do not work here, so the articles have to be written one by one, by humans. This means that the potential pool of articles will probably always stay smaller than the demand for good articles, because in my opinion, most people are too lazy to write more than a few articles, and I believe it takes at least 1000 articles to create a genuine 6 figure income solely via article writing.

I am going to go against the grain here and say that I think it is very difficult to make your list building efforts viral, if you are just building a list for yourself.

There are two things that traditionally are considered to be viral list building efforts, and I will begin with the second of the two, and then go to the first one.

The second method of viral list building is to use a viral listbuilder - software that allows others to also build on the same list - they can email the people they bring into the viral list builder and you can email all of them. I do not like them because response rates tend to get very low (have you ever subscribed to one of them and gotten 10 or 15 emails in a week from them), and I do not like them because the only person who really owns the leads is the person who owns the viral list builder.

The first method, which is actually quite effective, takes a little bit more work. Some people make it sound really easy to do - and the upfront work is really easy, but the backend is harder. This involves writing an ebook, embedding it with a link to your squeeze page, and then letting people give it away free. The problem with that is that it has to be a very good book to get much traffic out of it. There are probably hundreds of thousands of good ebooks out there to give away free - why should someone give away yours?

And many times, once someone builds a decent sized list, then they write their own ebook and leave yours out of the loop.

So, yes, it can be done - but, honestly, I think it is better to just spend the time to build a big list with articles, and then nurture that list, and send it through a profitable sales funnel.

Fish is nutritious and easy to cook. Chinese, especially, must have a fish dish during special occasion meals, such as reunion dinner during the Chinese New Year. Fish, in Chinese is pronounced as “Yu”, which means “abundance”. Well, eventhough preparing a fish dish is simple, you have to know the methods of preparing the freshest dish possible.

First of all, knowing how to choose a fresh fish is important. It is easy. Basically, there are 2 easy ways. First, look at its eyes. Choose the fish with crystal clear eyes instead of blurry ones. Next, open the fish gill and see if it is bright red. Dark red or greyish indicates the fish is not fresh. Lastly, just gently press on the fish body. You would want to choose the fish with a firm body. Next, you want to make sure the fish is properly cleaned. These days, you don’t really need to clean the fish yourself as you can request the fish to be cleaned for you. If you are quite turn off by the fishy smell fishy smell after you have done cleaning the fish. Just remember to clean your hands with lime juice. Very effective method.

I prefer to prepare the fish steamed simply because it brings out the freshness of the fish and healthier. White pomfret, for example, is best eaten steamed. However, sometimes the fishy smell can put one off. To get rid of the fishy smell, just squeeze some lime juice and rub it all over the fish. Then, scour the fish with boiling water. Quicky drain the fish and place it on a plate. Put some seasoning and ginger over the fish and steam it. There are some bigger fish variety which is great for steaming as well, such as threadfin (ma yau) or snapper. These fish is usually sold in cut slices. Since the fish is cut, how do you know if the slice is freshly cut? Easy. Look at the flesh of the fish, it should be firm to the touch and has a glazed surface.

If you prefer to fry a fish, why not try shallow fry instead of deep fry which consumes more oil? With shallow fry, the fish is as tasty and cripsy. Just fry with less oil in a non stick pan. Pour oil just to cover the surface of pan. Make sure the oil is hot, so that it will not stick on the pan when turn over to fry the other side of fish. Fry both sides till golden brown.

With the evolution of Internet technology it is possible to do everything online. One can plan vacations and make the travel and hotel reservations. One can buy a car or a home. One can even get an education through online college courses.

The last few years have seen a proliferation of online college courses. The numbers are in tens of thousands and growing. And there are courses of all types. At the top are courses that offer online degrees. These courses would run for the same period that conventional degree courses would run and have similar assessment procedures. There would be regular interaction with instructors and other students. At the bottom are single modules without any interaction, or assessment or certificates. And there are plenty of formats in between.

Online courses have a greater variety. This has perhaps been made possible by the greater reach of online courses through the Internet. Say a minimum of ten students is required for a course. A conventional college must have the ten people within the same town, whereas the online college can pick up ten students from anywhere in the world. The non-interactive modular courses can enjoy even greater variety because once prepared they can lie on the Internet for ages, waiting to be downloaded.

Online college courses cater to many different types of consumers. There are those who want to get a bachelor or master’s degree to further their employment opportunities. There are professionals who want to update their knowledge on a particular aspect of their work. There are housewives who want to develop vocational skills so that they can start a small home business. There are retired persons who want to enhance their knowledge in an area of interest.

Another strategy for producing an e-book is to ask others to write it ror you. Some of the most successful e-book promotions have featured e-books with multiple authors.

Why would an author give you a chapter for your book?

Because you will encourage them to include their contact information and links to their web pages, that’s why. The more copies of your book that you sell or give away, the more traffic they get to their sales sites. More traffic equals more sales.

Here’s how I used this technique.

At our weekly mastermind meeting, I cracked a joke about The Myth of Passive Income (www.mythofpassiveincome.com). I was whining because I had spent two whole hours filling orders and answering customer service emails.

This was the internet age-I was supposed to be sitting on the beach smoking a Cuban cigar and drinking espresso while the money magically appeared in my bank account, wasn’t I?

The reality, as most successful internet marketers will tell you if you catch them out of the public eye, is that most successful internet marketers work long hours to create passive income. Especially in the beginning of your internet marketing career, passive income is a myth.

Joe Vitale laughed at my joke, and then decided it would make an interesting book. So he contacted several of the top internet marketers and asked them to write a chapter about their passive income experiences. In a couple of weeks, we had over twenty chapters, from some of the biggest names in the business.

This technique will work for almost any subject. For example, if you wanted to write a book about running a successful E-zine, you could email the authors of the most successful E-zines and ask them to contribute a chapter.

I suspect most of them would jump at the chance. Every copy of your e-book will be an advertisement for their E-zine.

When it came time to approach Joint-Venture partners for the e-book, we approached the co-authors. They were happy to make money from the e-book. Of course, it would be interesting to their lists- since they’re in it.

This generated a lot of sales, but more importantly, each person they sent to our site had the opportunity to sign up for our list. This is a great technique for “creaming” another marketer’s list. We were able to identify, and gain access to, the members of their list that were interested in our products.

This has led to some great relationships with our new subscribers, and subsequent sales of other products.

Use Interviews To Write An E-book

A variation on having others write your book for you is to use interviews.

This is just a little more work, but there are a lot of benefits to this method. Remember that the interview can be conducted by phone, in person, by email- sometimes, the method you use to interview the expert can be a selling point. Be creative!

People who might not take the time to write a chapter are more likely to have a conversation with you, especially if you entice them with an ethical bribe-in this case, you can offer to include their contact and sales information in the chapter you create from the interview.

Remember, these interviews can be done over the phone or through email.

For example, suppose you wanted to write an e-book about the best way to buy a used car. You could arrange to talk with a broad range of used car salesmen. What are their tricks? What techniques do they use to get customers to buy? What should a customer ask? What should a customer be afraid of or concerned about?

Most salesmen will happily talk about their business, if you can convince them that it will attract more customers.

In this case, I’d ask them about the dirty tricks other salesmen use.

If you’re writing an e-book about a topic you’re very familiar with, you can interview yourself!

Once you’ve got your interviews, you’ve converted your authoring problem to a typing problem. You can even hire a transcription service to type it for you.

Writing your book from interviews has a hidden benefit-you nowhave an audio product to sell! You can use your interview tapes as the source material to create CDs or you can convert them to MP3’s and sell them as digital products.

One example of an interview mp3 product is at www.e-bookproblemsolver.com. I interviewed Dr. Joe Vitale on the subject of e-book production and marketing, converted the interview into mp3s and put them online. After listening to that interview, you should be able to come up with a topic, write the e-book, get it online, and sell it. The whole production took less than four hours to create- and was a lot of fun.

Right now, the most popular e-books are the ones that explain how to do something: how to save money, how to make a web page, how to fix a car, how to satisfy your lover, how to bake a great cheese-cake- even how to write an e-book!

You’re looking for an expert, but don’t get in a rut about what constitutes an “expert.” Here are some potential subjects for your interview. I’ll bet you can think of many more.
