Do you want your articles to grab the reader’s attention?

Internet surfers don’t read, they scan.

In fact, researchers have discovered that once a surfer clicks on a page, you only have about 3 seconds (yes seconds) to get their attention before they click away.

Your headline has to create interest in a hurry.

A good article headline must include the following.

  • your keyword or keyword phrase
  • Either a question or a statement that gets them interested
  • The human brain loves to learn and gets excited when it’s asked a question.

Think about that for a moment.

When you see a question like “do you want your articles to grab the reader’s attention?” your brain says yes and it wants to know more, to know how.

Write articles with headlines that promise your reader will “learn how” to do something or that your reader will “discover” something or your reader will become “successful” at something.

Remember, the Internet is all about content. People use the Internet to learn, to discover and to be social.

If you write articles that start off with lazy, so-what headlines, your article isn’t going to attract attention and will not be read. So you have to put some quality time into learning how to write articles with headlines that command attention.

Here are a few examples of some headlines I’ve written for my articles.

  • Want To Supercharge Your Kid Birthday Party Game Ideas?
  • Everyone’s Playing Cake Mania - Don’t Be Left Out
  • You Can Increase Your Web Site Traffic Now

  • Disney Movie Club - Remember Your Favorites?
  • Turn Something You Enjoy Into Your Success
  • Notice the use of words and phrases that have a strong impact?

You, success, you can, don’t be left out, remember your favorites.

Now before you rush off to start writing articles with headlines that use words like “amazing”, “secrets revealed” and “incredible” think about the over-used big-wow hype words and phrases that you’ve seen used all too often.

Is your article going to deliver on words like amazing, secrets revealed or incredible? Or will your headline promise the moon but deliver very little?

Your headline must get the readers attention, but your article has to deliver what your headline promises.

If your articles fail to deliver, you will quickly become known as an author whose article headlines are full of sizzle but there is no steak in your articles.

What you really ant is to be regarded as an expert in your field so that readers will read your article all the way through and click on that link in your author bio box.

Learn to write and re-write your headlines until you develop headlines that include your keyword or keyword phrase, ask a strong question or make a strong statement.

    Practice writing.

Writers write. Others just talk about writing.

Your headline has to create interest in a big hurry. So write articles with strong headlines and your articles will get readers.

Flower gardening is a very popular hobby, and is getting larger with each new season. There are many ways to get information about this topic, especially for the beginning. Even if you have some experience with gardening, you can find more information on any aspect that you may wish to explore.

One of the main things to keep in mind when starting out is to start small. With a small bed, you may not get overwhelmed. And, once you become more comfortable with gardening, you can expand. You can also start with a variety of plants to see what kind you want to grow. If you start small, this will give you more of a chance to understand gardening as a relaxation and hobby rather than a major chore that must be done.

There are basically two types of gardening methods. The most common being with chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. The other is the use of organic gardening. Organic gardening works to create a natural balance in your flower garden between the plants and the soil. It follows the thought that your garden as a living ecosystem. Following this, it tries to maintain health without the use of harsh and harmful chemicals.

Getting Started With Your Flower Garden

Choosing a proper site for your garden is one of the most important considerations to at this point. The amount of sun your plants will receive is one of the most significant factors to consider. This is because sunlight is one of the key ingredients to growing a healthily garden. An average of six hours of sunlight per day will be great for most plants.

If the area you have to work with gets more sunlight, you should plant flowers that can handle full sun exposure. Another important factor to consider in gardening is the different types of plants. In the case flowers, learn the amount of water, sunlight and soil factors that they need in order to strive.

When you have identified the area, you need to mark out the boundaries with something such as a water hose. Then remove all sod, grass, and weeds from your bed. The flower bed should be turned to a depth of eight to ten inches. And all rocks and debris should be cleared away as well.

After this is completed, you can follow the planting instructions for your plants. With proper ‘care and feeding’, your plantings will grow into a beautiful flower garden. Bulb flowers can fill your garden with brilliant and beautiful color throughout most of the year. With just a little effort, you can have colorful blooms such as daffodils, iris, tulips, gladiolus, hyacinth, and daylilies.

With a large selection of flowers to choose from, your flower gardening experience can be a fun and enjoyable hobby.

Opinions regarding ‘to build or not to build’ appear regularly and often the verdict is: not to build. However, my verdict is to have someone else build for you.

I built myself a high-end gaming PC a few months ago. It features a Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, a BFG 8800 GTX 768MB graphics card, 3GB 800Mhz RAM, SATAII 250GB HDD and a Blue Orb II heatsink and fan. Ok, it cost me around £2000; but now I have a system that is great for gaming, editing and entertainment, and which is designed to meet this requirement. On top of this, it can be heavily upgraded (future-proof, which would cost much more to upgrade an older system or buy a new computer every year), is Windows Vista and Nvidia SLI-ready, and can run practically run any software.

So happy, I was, with this system I had put together, I decided to start a small business selling it under the name ‘Hurricane’. The business is run from home over the internet, www.highendgamingpcs.co.uk, and in the past 4 weeks, I have generated interest from buyers, enthusiasts and the gaming community. They are reassured as my Hurricane systems are stable, slightly overclocked if needed, and built by someone who is a gamer.

Granted, Vista may not be ready yet due to compatibility issues and driver software not up to the mark yet; but if you have a system that is ready for it, you can only expect great things. Afterall, the future is already here

Christopher Elliott is the owner of http://www.highendgamingpcs.co.uk At 28, he decided to use his year’s of experience in computing and build PCs for people who require a system with something special. A keen gamer and flight simulator enthusiast, his systems reflect his keen interest and creativity.

Winters in Utah are pretty cold, so whatever you do you will want to stay warm. February is a great chance to check out the slopes and then warm up at a NBA game. The city is big and the options are endless. The winter is actually a great time to check out Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. The zoo has over 1100 animals and 250 species from around the world. Many of the animals like the cooler days and tend to be more active. The penguins are sure to be active with temperatures in the forties in February. The Snow Leopard is from the southern Himalayans and finds himself right at home during the winter months of Salt Lake. February is also mating season for many of the animals and the zoo offers a romantic dinner and evening of fun as the animals put on their best mating dances.

After a cool day at the zoo, hit a Utah Jazz game to warm-up. A basketball game in real life is a ton of fun and the Jazz have six home games this season and you are sure to be able to find one that fits your schedule. They often hold game night promotions and contests as well. The Jazz originally began in New Orleans, but was unsuccessful financially and was moved to Utah. They were very successful in the 80s and 90s and today they aren’t too shabby. Karl Malone and John Stockton tore up the court in the 90s; today their stars are Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams.

Bald Eagle Day is held every year in February. This day gives people the opportunity to see the Bald Eagle up close and learn about them. There are several areas that you can visit to see the Bald Eagles. The Fountain Green State Fish Hatchery, the Split Mountain/Green River located north of Jensen and Cedar Valley will hold viewings one weekend. Salt Creek Waterfowl Management Area at Compton’s Knoll and Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area near Centerville will hold viewings the next weekend. Bald Eagle Day began in 1990 and many families go to see the Bald Eagles. It is one of Utah’s most well attended wildlife viewing events. This is just a taste of what there is to do in Utah. The winter months are popular for skiing of course, but you are encouraged to look for things that are unique and out of the ordinary.

There are so many outgoings and major expenses to consider when planning your own wedding. It goes without saying that spending money is a part of having a wedding.

But, there are so many ways in which you can make cutbacks and if you plan it carefully, you do not need to spend the next 10 years paying your wedding off.

Here are some ways that you can save money when organising your wedding, without compromising on quality.

Hiring or borrowing a wedding dress is a great way to save money as those on the marketplace these days are terribly overpriced. Speak to your friends and family about the dresses they wore and ask if they will let you try their gowns on. Most women would be only too pleased to give their dress another airing.

Reduce your wedding guest list and keep your guests to a minimum. Think carefully about who you couldn’t do without and who you are only inviting because you feel pressurised to do so.

If this is not possible, why not have a hot buffet meal rather than a big sit down dinner. This will work out much cheaper and is usually just as delicious.

Head for the sales when it comes to getting your bridesmaid dresses. You should also think about reducing your entourage down if possible as this will definitely save you money.

Check out the large department stores too for their evening gown and special occasion wear. These are usually reasonably priced and are much less expensive than bridesmaid dresses from a bridal boutique.

Why don’t you design and produce your own cheap wedding favours? They don’t have to look cheap if you are careful and guests don’t really expect lavish gifts; just a little something will be fine to mark the occasion.

Ask a friend to do your make up. This will be a special honour for whoever you ask to help you. As the friend knows you, they will also know what colours suit you and how you like to look. This means that she will probably get it right. Equally, she can use the products you already have to prevent any reaction that sometimes occurs when a new product is introduced to the skin.

Proudly brought to you by “World of Wedding Favours” where customers can be sure of amazing: Wedding Favours, show stopping reception accessories and excellent customer service.

As a regular writer for World of Wedding Favours, Emily Tanner is proud to introduce you to their sensational wedding favours, table decorations and wedding accessories.

NBC News reported the grim news last night that foreclosures
are now 4 times higher than they were in the year 2000, the rate
of failures are growing daily and that there is no end in sight.
The stock market crashed on worries about all the “bad” news.

It’s fascinating to watch this (well-understood and accurately
forecasted) situation going on with foreclosures right now. None
of us who are real estate entrepreneurs are the least bit
surprised about what’s happening. We predicted exactly what you
see - mass foreclosures, mass chaos, mass financial losses and the
best part…, mass fortunes to be made as a real estate entrepreneur.

These foreclosures are homes or properties that are owned by mortgage companies
or banks. The banks or mortgage company own them because they are
the result of foreclosure. Previous owners of the property or home has fallen behind
in their mortgage payments and the bank foreclosed on them.

Also if you are a realestate investor this is a great opportunity
for you to find properties before your competition does.
You will not have to battle the hordes of competitors.
You will find out when a person is behind on there mortgage
payment, going through bankruptcy and of course when
it is in foreclosure before your competition does.

If you haven’t started working your neighborhoods for this gravy
train, then be sure to join me and others who are
making a boatload of money in their neighborhoods with
    foreclosures.

North Dakota knows that it is easy to get stuck in your home or hotel while visiting in the winter months. That’s why they provide many seasonal events to make the most of this time of the year. Here are a few attractions unique to North Dakota and the month of February. The North Dakota Heritage Center is located in Bismarck and the History Hikes January to March. These are great opportunities to get out and stroll through the indoor museum. The center provides one-quarter mile and one-half mile maps to make the History Hike educational and unique. The Heritage Center also offers Sensational Sundays that feature music, storytelling, preservation programs and a lecture series.

In Fort Ransom you will find the Annual Norski Days Scandinavian Winter Festival. Fort Ransom is a small resort community and features all sorts of winter events whether there is snow or not. The many events include downhill and cross-country skiing, sno boarding, ice fishing tournament, snowmobile run, horse-drawn wagon rides, snow sculpting, big air contest, old time dance festival snowboarding and a Norwegian buffet. The buffet is complete with Scandinavian dishes such as ring cakes, rommegrat, lefse, and flatbread. They also hold a Hagar and Helga look alike contest and Norski talent show.

Jamestown has a lot to offer in the month of February. Here you will find the Cabin Fever Days and the Polar Pig Big Splash. The Polar Pig Big Splash is by far the most popular event as participants are able to wear any wild costume that they wish and will be awarded prizes for the Best Cannonball, Wildest Costume and Outstanding Team Spirit. A warming house will be available for those participants to warm up before and after they take the plunge. Other events will include sleigh rides, and Zonta’s Chocolate Fever Festival.

While you are in Jamestown you can’t help but see the World’s Largest Buffalo. The buffalo is a cement sculpture that is 26 feet tall, 46 feet long and weighs 60 tons. The buffalo was built in 1959. The surrounding area is known as Frontier Village and features an old fashioned post office, trading post, saloon, fire department, barber shop, jail, the states oldest grocery store, sheriff’s office and the Louis L’Amour writers shack. The town is more active in the summer months but is still a site to see. The National Buffalo Museums attracts over 100,000 people each year.

It is interesting to see the numerous comments about the massive effect of the Internet on the music industry, especially the negative way it is supposed to be affecting production companies and artistes, etc. That kind of anxiety is understandable, but is generally a product of massive change in the face of strong resistance to protect territories and traditions. But the Internet is no different from any new major change.

Any change brings a predictable cycle of reaction. First there is FEAR, then CHALLENGE, followed by guarded CURIOSITY, then EXPERIMENT, then FAMILIARISATION followed by ACCEPTANCE then COMFORT with the change and finally CUSTOMISING it to suit our individual needs. Members of the population will be at different levels of this change process, depending on their relevance to it, their desire to embrace it, their expertise in it and past experience around it. So, if you are into computers big time, you would already be at the customising stage while older people feeling frightened and threatened would be at the fear or challenging stage, wishing for the good old days while pointing out only the bad things one gets on the Internet. They are likely to use it sparingly, to be wary of it and see only the spam and the porn, hardly anything of merit, while computer geeks will virtually live on it and change the quality of our lives with it!!

One could say that we are generally in the experimental stage of the Internet. Not much is making sense to the masses but it sure feels exciting to try it. For example, more than 8 million UK members use the Internet for dating, but a lot wouldn’t do it because they still cannot envisage finding a partner online, and the public exposure that entails. Yet the old face-to-face personal ways of seeking a spouse are rapidly diminishing. Women, in particular, appreciate the opportunity of finding a partner from the comfort of their home in relative security.

The Internet is unstoppable now. Give it a few more years and we will be racing towards the ACCEPTANCE and COMFORT levels, doing fantastic things with it. By then the record producers and all those people who are ‘losing’ out just now would have thought of ways not only to work it to their advantage but also to customise it to suit their objectives. Soon they’ll regroup with greater knowledge of what they are dealing with and then heaven help us, as everyone tries to make sure they have maximum benefit from it. Five or ten years from now, the Internet will seem such a seamless part of our lives we will be wondering what all the fuss was about. We would have forgotten all these debates about the merits and demerits of the most amazing creation in the world, the epitome of true global domination!

One thing is certain, already the Internet has given every human being with access to it a huge voice, and where people are being heard it is the greatest feeling of worth and significance. The 1984 take-off of Hillary Clinton is a fantastic case in point, already viewed by over two million people in barely a week, yet it was done by an unknown person wanting to comment on the American election. Like every other revolution, the Internet has already stamped its own impact indelibly on our lives.

But, hold on to your seats, folks, because you ain’t see nothin’ yet. There’s an awful lot more to come.

If you are a parent of a school aged child, then you know the frustration our children face in trying to complete homework after a full day of school. And the frustration is not theirs alone, it is ours as well as we try to encourage them to complete the homework.

Schooling today is not what it used to be. As a parent in my thirties, it’s hard to believe how much school work has changed for kids today. Children seem to be pushed through even when they have not yet completed work from a prior lesson. And worse, even when they do not even have any understanding of that lesson. And despite communication with the schools, they can only offer so much help, especially with today’s school requirements and the “no one left behind” policies.

So, as a parent, we have no choice but to help our children push on. Despite our already demanding schedules, we now have become part time teachers ourselves. But, there are things we can do to help our children and ourselves.

1.-Make sure you have a communication plan with your child’s teacher. Don’t leave it up to your child or the teacher to keep you informed on where things stand.

2.-If your child is struggling with a certain subject, make sure you make it known to your teacher. Ask the teacher to provide after school help to your child.

3.-Ask the teacher for online resources that you can use to assist your child in completing their homework.

4.-Encourage your child to get their homework done once they get home from school. Allow a small break and a healthy snack, and then have them get to it. The longer they prolong it, the more of a struggle you will have.

5.-Do NOT do their homework for them. This does not help them learn.

As a parent with children in both middle school and the high school, I feel your frustrations. And it seems to only get worse as the years go on. When my first daughter went from elementary school to the middle school, I was shocked at the schoolwork. Now, I’m flabbergasted as my second daughter moves into those grades and the expectations are even greater now then they were just a few years ago.

It is up to us to help our children. Don’t leave it up to them or the teachers or your frustrations will only grow. Be proactive and you can take control of the situation.
