Natural Remedy for Arthritis

People suffering from arthritis will usually resort to medication to relieve their pain. Unfortunately, there is actually no known cure for arthritis contrary to what many pharmaceutical companies say. Dealing with arthritis is not as simple as taking in a particular pill or a single substance. The pain that arthritis creates is enough to drive one crazy as it never abates. This is probably the reason why arthritis sufferers never stop looking for remedies for this particular affliction. Many arthritis sufferers also resort to natural and herbal remedies to help ease the pain. The list of herbs that are said to help treat arthritis pain is a veritable litany of such substances as dish liver oil, shark cartilage, alfalfa, devil’s root and many more.

Arthritis patients can best treat their affliction through three basic steps: detoxification, changes in dietary habits, and proper selection of nutrients. And obviously, these three steps can be achieved naturally and organically. Detoxification is important in cleansing the body of toxins. These toxins are the main cause of inflammation starting from the cells of the body. These cells that are clogged by various toxins are not able to use the necessary nutrients it needs to rebuild or restore proper function. Another important natural remedy for arthritis is changing the dietary habits.

Dietary choices play a vital role in the development of arthritis in one’s body. Food choices that are low on certain nutrients can adversely affect the body’s functions. On the other hand, excessive intake of some substances can also lead to the occurrence of painful rheumatoid arthritis. The third step towards the natural remedy of arthritis is the proper selection of nutrients, to help the body heal itself and fight off the inflammation. One of the most effective substances in the fight against osteoarthritis is Glucosamine Sulfate, which stimulates the formation of connective tissue, an ability that people lose as they grow older

The Implications Of The OX-9 ( One Laptop per Child Program)

The OX-9 as the One Laptop per Child program is now being called is a great idea and shows what’s possible when technology is not overburdened. The design is functional and fantastic and would have a huge impact in the developing world. But the fact that the computer has to come from the government rather than through the public markets raises skepticism. Doing so limits the impact the laptops are going to have.

The problem is that it is limited to ONLY developing countries. Selling to the public would allow market forces to take the project to a greater level of empowerment and allow it to be measured up with ther products in the market. I am interested in this project not because of what it could do for the Children, because despite the promotions, only a very small amount of children will ever get their hands on this machine. But because it has opened a new door for less is more products. Somebody in the developed world that just needs a basic laptop could buy one of these. It would follow the same pattern the DACIA Logan has in Europe. The car is selling in Europe as strong as in the developing countries it was intended for.

The OX-9 will have a bottom-up shake up. on one side allowing kids learn programming and other computer skills early creating a new class of customers. On the other hand it would influence how technology is used in the developed world. To the advocates of the OX-9, sell it to the public as well as selling it to governments of developing countries and unleash the full potential of this innovative project.

No matter who you are, what you do, or where you live, chances are you have been personally affected by breast cancer. The statistics are clear and overwhelming; but statistics mean little when faced with the diagnosis of yourself or a loved one.

For those who fight the battle against this cancer on a daily basis, the support of family and friends is just as important as the treatment received - necessary support that widens still the circle of people affected by this disease. This family of patients and supporters
“strong in numbers” often find the wearing of a breast cancer ribbon to be a sign of their connectivity and a larger call for awareness and aggressive strides in research.

We’ve all seen them - the pink breast cancer ribbon that adorns any manner of clothing and is meant to draw attention to the staggering statistics - affecting one in eight women during their lifetime; over a million people throughout the world this year alone; and claiming the lives of 43,000 people a year in the United States.

The wearing or displaying of a ribbon has long been identified with the plight of charitable causes; from the yellow ribbons tied around trees in honor of soldiers far from home, to the looped red ribbon worn in symbol of AIDS activism. The pink ribbon, that is now so inseparable from its cause, had its origins with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The foundation, which began in 1982 as a way to unite women who were suffering with breast cancer in a unified call for better funded research, began holding Race for the Cure in 1990, an annual walk/run event to help raise funds for education, screening, treatment, and research. Participants of the race who were cancer survivors were initially given pink visors to commemorate their fight; but all participants began receiving pink ribbons in 1991.

However, the ribbon really stepped into the limelight in 1992 when Self magazine featured it in its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month issue. The magazine partnered with Estee Lauder who handed out over a million pink ribbons at its makeup counters across the country. Attached to each were instructions on proper breast self-examination and information on how to petition the White House for increased funding for better research.

Legend tells us that the pink ribbon was chosen because of its close association with femininity. Meant to empower and inspire women to enact change in their own medical care, the pink ribbon began as a wake-up call for all women; without fully engaging in the network of healthcare, researchers, and government that wield influence in cancer prevention, detection, and treatment, women were at the mercy of those in power. It was time to take an active role and affect change at the highest level.

Today, the power of the ribbon holds fast to its fundamental values with which it was originally introduced. And it continues its work of uniting generations of women and families in the fight against cancer. As research continues and new medical and technological advancements are brought to the table, the ribbon will surely continue in its role as a sign of awareness and an infinite commitment by its wearers.

At its core, evolutionary theory suggests that life evolved through minute changes within organisms over long periods of time. These small changes, we are told, eventually make up all life and the complex systems that comprise our being.

If we are to accept this as true, how would the heart, which requires the brain to tell it to beat, function during its intermediary stages while the brain was evolving? When did the heart, which is a whole system by itself, decide to evolve and become a complex circulatory system? How did this circulatory system evolve in small increments separate from the heart if it needs all of its parts together to function?

What about the nervous system? When did a primitive unintelligent organism decide that it needed to develop a nervous system? Why did the organism need a nervous system if it survived without one? Why did it need a heart if it survived without one? When did a primitive organism decide it needed a muscular system, a respiratory system, and a digestive system?

How exactly did all of these complex systems evolve separate from each other if they need to work together to function?

Survival of the fittest is the principle that drives the evolutionary process. If these primitive creatures survived, why did they need to evolve beyond where they were? What made them grow and change? What made these primitive organisms decide they needed to become something different? Something better? Since there were no laws or purpose to govern these organisms, why did they need to change?

I am always amazed that the human race has known so little about what makes the complex systems that formulate life, yet people assume unintelligent organisms were able to create these things through a natural selection process.

How could we or any other creature develop such incredible complexity when we have struggled to understand the systems that define us as humans? This scenario is like suggesting that a baby designed a fully functional computer system. The baby has no idea how a computer system operates or for that matter, what it is, yet, this baby somehow developed the computer system.

Would you believe this story if it were reported on national television tonight? Yet, we are asked to accept the story that all life exists due to random unintelligent processes (something less than a baby’s intelligence). We are also asked to agree that these unintelligent forces somehow knew enough to create all of the complex systems we see in our world. This would even seem to be a fanciful scenario for the Brothers Grimm because to accept this line of reasoning requires a suspension of commonly understood reality. It also requires much more faith than saying a transcendent intelligence created all life.

Those that make the choice to hold to the theory of evolution no matter what the evidence suggests will come up with explanation that insists on making assumptions that suspend rational thought. This theory defies logic and does not conform to solid observable scientific discovery. The theory of evolution does not make sense in light of other multiple observations we can make about our known world.

Maybe evolution sounds impossible because it is impossible.

How to Successfully Minimize Keloid Scars

Scars can be extremely difficult to get rid of, or at least to minimize their appearance; however Keloid scars can often be the hardest to eliminate.

Keloid scars occur when tissue forms a claw-like appearance around an injury site or a scar. Usually, an injured area tends to have an overgrowth of skin and that generally rises up a little from the site and a Keloid often forms around it. You will know if you have a Keloid scar as it has a slightly pink appearance and it is hard to the touch.

Keloid scars are not really harmful but they can hurt, and they often itch quite badly too. They can generally affect all ages, though they do tend to affect people between the ages of ten, to twenty, and they affect both men and women equally. It is thought that darker skins have more of a chance of developing Keloid scars, and in some cases the condition can become so bad that it is disfiguring. So, it can be a potentially serious condition.

The Causes and Prevention of Keloid Scars

Keloid scars are most commonly found on people who have suffered from an injury such as a burn or severe acne. Instead of healing naturally, the scar tends to overfill with collagen and this in turn causes it to swell up and become enlarged.

It is not really known what causes Keloid scars, but surgery is often used to eliminate them. However, they do tend to reoccur and it is thought that genetics are to blame. Whilst the condition is not really harmful, if exposed to the sun, the Keloid scar can increase your chances of developing skin cancer.

The problem with surgery is that although it does remove the Keloid completely, as mentioned, the scar can return, and it often returns on the actual surgery scar that is left behind. They are mainly found on the chest, the back and the arms, and there are no known cures for the condition at the moment.

Some forms of treatment which may work include:

A Dressing

In some cases a dressing made up of silicone gel or silastic, are used and they have been known to reduce the Keloid over time.

Steroid Injections

If you have already had Keloid scars before, or if the Keloid has started to thicken, steroid injections may be helpful. A series of injections is usually given in the hope that it will reduce the size and the irritation of the scar, but this particular treatment is uncomfortable and often local anesthetic is needed for people over the age of sixteen, and full anesthetic is needed for people under the age of sixteen. Once the anesthetic wears off, the condition can become extremely painful so this is often not the most preferred type of treatment around!

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is sometimes offered as an alternative to surgery and it works by producing a superficial peel. However, it does not tend to reduce the main bulk of the Keloid scar so it is not always very effective.

Surgery

The most effective form of Keloid scar removal is Surgery, however the surgeon does need to take extremely good care whilst removing the scar. If the Keloid does return after surgery, it is often larger. There is a forty five percent chance that the Keloid Scar will come back after surgery, though it is possible for surgery to be combined with other treatments, and that way there is less chance of the scars coming back.

Overall Keloid scars can be potentially painful, humiliating and extremely hard to eliminate. They are extremely rare and are mainly found in African and Asian skin types. It is thought that the condition is genetic and it is often found in families. You may need a doctor to properly diagnose the condition and inform you of the next steps in order to treat the condition if ended.

There is a path to fiction writing success that is quick and sure, even obvious. It’s a path that’s simple to explain. In fact, I’m going to explain it in this short article. And when I’m finished, most of you who read this will nod and say to yourselves, “I knew that.” Then you’ll move on without giving it another thought. And you won’t do it.

And that will be a shame.

As with any profession, writing good fiction requires a learning curve. It begins with the very basics - the rules of proper grammar. From there, you’ll want to learn all the aspects of storytelling. These can include everything from setting to character development, from dialogue to plot, and more. And when you become comfortable in your knowledge of storytelling, you’ll want to learn about the business end of writing … how to build your career, working with agents, what all those contract clauses mean, etc. Learning will be a life-long journey.

But if you learn all of the above, inside and out, even become an expert at it, it won’t mean a thing toward writing successful fiction unless you do one more thing.

You know what it is, don’t you?

Yes.

You have to write, and you have to write everyday.

It doesn’t matter how knowledgeable or how talented you are. If you don’t write regularly you’ll never be successful. Having edited a newsletter, a small press magazine, and several anthologies, I can tell you from experience, it’s not the most talented writers who succeed. It’s the most persistent writers. The writers who work on their craft with a passion. Who pour their souls into their work.

And it’s not how much time you have, it’s the routine that matters. Writing success comes from placing your butt in the chair and putting words down on a piece of paper or your computer screen on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter if you only have fifteen minutes a day, as long as you fill that time writing.

The best way to do this is to make an appointment with yourself, set a specific time everyday that’s reserved for nothing but writing. It might be the first thing in the morning before the rest of the family wakes up. It might be during your lunch hour, or late at night after everyone else is in bed. It doesn’t matter, as long as it’s the same time everyday, and the only thing that happens is that you write.

By the way, researching isn’t writing. Plotting isn’t writing. Developing a character isn’t writing. Those are all important aspect of developing good stories, and they need to be done, but they are not writing. Don’t let them get in the way. It’s easy to get caught up in all the details of your story without ever actually putting a word on paper.

So there you have it.

The quickest, surest path to fiction writing success.

Write everyday.

Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

And you already knew it, didn’t you?

So now the question is this: what are you going to do about it?

David B. Silva is the author of numerous short stories and novels. Currently, he serves as the webmaster for The Successful Writer, a website designed to provide writing information and resources for new and upcoming writers.

The human body is a complex organization of complimentary systems that work in concert to make the body function properly. Each complex system has individual parts that must function properly for the system to work. In this article you will find a brief overview of a few of the body’s many amazing systems.

The Skeletal System

The main job of the skeleton is to provide structural support for our body. Without bones our bodies would collapse into a heap of skin, organs and muscle tissue. Bones provide a place for muscles to attach so we can move. Additionally, the skeletal system helps to protect our inner organs and fragile body tissues.

The average human adult skeleton has 206 bones joined to ligaments and tendons to form a protective and supportive framework for the attached muscles and soft underlying tissues.

The Digestive System

The digestive system is a group of organs that work to break down the chemical components of food through the use of digestive juices into essential nutrients, which can be absorbed to generate the body’s energy. This system also builds and replaces cells and tissues, which are constantly dying.

The Circulatory System

The circulatory system is responsible for transporting materials throughout the entire body. It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to the billions of cells within your body while carrying away wastes such as carbon dioxide produced by body cells. The circulatory system is an amazing highway that travels through your entire body connecting the totality of your body cells.

The circulatory system is divided into three major parts:

The Heart

The Blood

The Blood Vessels

The Respiratory System

The respiratory system brings oxygen into the body through inhalation and removes carbon dioxide when you exhale. This system includes the nose, trachea, and lungs. When you breathe in, air enters your nose or mouth and goes down a long tube called the trachea. The trachea branches into two bronchial tubes, or primary bronchi, which have an all-access pass to the lungs. The primary bronchi branch off into even smaller bronchial tubes, or bronchioles. The bronchioles end in the alveoli, or air sacs. Oxygen follows this path and passes through the walls of the air sacs and blood vessels entering the blood stream. At the same time, carbon dioxide is passed into the lungs and is eliminated from the body when exhaled.

The Nervous System

Your nervous system is the command and control system of the body. Its job is to communicate by sending and receiving messages. Your nervous system controls thought and movement. As part of the nervous system, you have:

The Brain - Command center

The Spinal Cord

Neurons - Carry electrical messages that are the “language” of the nervous system.

The body also has additional systems we have not mentioned here. Each of these ‘body’ systems are made up of smaller complex systems. Even the simplest cell in the body is itself a complex system.

How did these complex systems come into existence?

It is easy to think these systems were designed by an intelligence much greater than ourselves. It is easy and logical to believe because we see this in our everyday lives. Complex systems such as a personal computer, TV, or DVD player are never the result of accidents. They are always the result of an intelligent mind that engineered and manufactured them.

Evolutionists have espoused a dogmatic belief system that insists mankind, and all animal life for that matter, evolved from primitive creatures. Evolutionists show us picture of this progression as a monkey turns into an ape then eventually from an ape into a modern man. We’ve all seen these pictures, which are considered one of the icons of evolution. These pictures make evolution appear simple. An ape looks like a human so it makes sense that they are one of our ancestors, right? Unfortunately many people take these simple explanations at face value without questioning the logic. However, as stated above, life is much more than this simple progression. Life has a complexity that is staggering as you delve into the molecular level. Each living organism has many systems that have been engineered with incredible precision.

Many people however would rather believe these complex systems are a result of a series of random accidents.

At its core, evolutionary theory states that every complex system evolved through minute changes within organisms over long periods of time.

Those that ascribe to the theory of evolution, no matter what the evidence states, have come up with various explanations for this scenario, but there are none to date that pass a test using logic as it’s primary indicator. The explanations of dogmatic evolutionists do not make logical sense nor do they agree with scientific knowledge, as we know it. They also do not conform to the observable world around us.

Maybe the complex systems of the human body look designed because they really are designed.

Achieving a Higher Level Of Education Through a Distance Learning Masters Degree

With the completion of undergraduate courses through a college or university, most people will move on to pursue their career of choice. For many, this is the culmination of four years of hard work and a time to begin a new life that was made possible through education.

However, somewhere down the road - very soon after earning an undergraduate degree or years later - it may become apparent that a masters degree would significantly elevate your status and financial earnings in the workplace. Or, you may feel that you wish to update your skills and make yourself a more marketable employee by earning a higher degree.

In either case, pursuing a masters degree can seem like a logistical impossibility with an already busy work and family life. Luckily, for those in exactly this situation, a distance learning degree can make that higher education achievable no matter what your schedule.

This type of degree is earned much like a traditional degree - through predetermined course work and examinations. However, distance learning work is completed in the comfort and privacy of the student’s home. This allows the non-traditional student the ability to fit studies around the other priorities in their life including full or part-time work and family.

Online colleges and universities often offer the opportunity to earn a masters degree in a variety of subjects. As the popularity of distance learning continues to grow, so does the list of courses offered. Most modern students will find exactly what they are looking for in a number of online educational settings.

Traditional colleges and universities also offer their students the ability to earn a distance learning master’s degree. As more and more non-traditional students look for ways to earn higher degrees of education and still balance their lives, colleges and universities are making modern learning available on a grander scale.

This can be especially attractive to those students who earn their undergraduate degree through a particular school; they are then able to embark upon their career while earning a master’s degree through the very same school.

Through distance learning, a professor acts as an online facilitator outlining the course syllabus through email or an online “classroom.” Students are often required to purchase books, and lessons are taught through these books in addition to online tutelage and even video lessons.

Course work is often required to be turned in on a particular schedule; but the times at which students do their class work is entirely dependent on their schedule. The convenience of distance learning lies in the ability to fit school into your life instead of the other way around.

Today’s education environment calls for options when it comes to earning a degree. The future of education lies in the ability of students to achieve their goals in a way that is conducive to their lifestyle. A distance learning masters degree can bring students closer to career and personal goals; and do so in a way that maximizes the convenience to the student.

Have you ever wondered why your boyfriend or husband has such smooth skin on their face and yours is rougher than sandpaper? And you spend much more time on your skin care than he ever does! The one step in your skin care routine that you may be missing out on is exfoliation.

All of the cleansing and moisturizing in the world will not give you the baby soft skin you crave if you don’t add a weekly exfoliation to your routine. Exfoliating your skin removes the dead, rough, outer layer of skin cells covering up the smoother, newer skin cells. Most men inadvertently add exfoliation to their routine by shaving. You will notice a big difference in your skin when you start exfoliating on a regular basis.

Exfoliating is most effective when done after cleansing your face. There are many great skin exfoliators on the market today that promise to help with photoaging, irregular pigmentation, acne, and damaged skin. If you’re not willing to spend the money on a good exfoliator, you can always whip up a homemade recipe to do the trick!

Many women swear by the Miracle Whip mask. After tying your hair back away from your face, apply a thin to moderate layer of Miracle Whip Salad Dressing to your face and neck. Leave this mask on your face for about 10 minutes and then massage gently to remove the dead skin cells. Rinse your face in warm water, and then follow up with a cleansing toner to remove any residual oil from the salad dressing. This type of mask can be done either once a week or daily if your skin isn’t too sensitive.

If the vinegar smell in the salad dressing is too potent, try using a sea salt facial mask. Mix sea salt together with extra virgin olive oil and massage onto your face avoiding the eye area. Rinse your face in warm water and pat dry. This type of mask should only be used once or twice a week to avoid drying out your skin.

Skin exfoliators are great to keep your skin looking young and smooth. When you’re performing your skin care routine, never miss this crucial step. Keeping your skin free of dead skin cells will help to solve many skin conditions such as acne, photoaging, and irregular pigmentation.

The Ancient Wisdom Teachings, which have existed for several thousands of years, are esoteric and mystical in nature, for they are not confined to the dogmas and doctrines created by religious theologian throughout history. Religions represent mankind’s search for God, whereas Mysticism is a seeker’s experience of God. Religion is based on faith and belief, which is the first phase of the journey; however, Mysticism is experiential spirituality, the second phase of the journey. Too often seekers get stuck in a holding pattern in the first phase, and never ascend to the next level. This next level is where true spiritual growth takes place, where our quest for Divine Union occurs.

The word “esoteric” to the uninformed is always misunderstood. The new aspirant often understands the esoteric as hidden or secret occult teachings excluded to a select few. This is a naïve perspective, for this is the most commonly accepted interpretation. The idea that the higher teachings should be strictly concealed is a common misconception, seen more in practice by secret schools than by their actual nature. In fact, this concept is an exoteric explanation of the more esoteric reality, which is considered to be great mysteries of the ages.

The Greater Mysteries are esoteric not merely because secret societies and mystical schools have concealed their advanced teachings, which has been the common practice even in ancient times, but ultimately because the true Wisdom of God’s Truth is beyond the human intellect. The genuine Truth can only be realized and experienced in the heart and soul; however, the mind will be enlightened in the process and the understanding will increase. The fact is, the unawakened person simply will not be able to comprehend these deeper teachings, hence, he rejects them. Often the unenlightened will become aggressive in their rejection and skepticism, because they often tend to ridicule students of such esoteric teachings. This is the commonest reason the mystery schools and Gnostic groups have cloaked their teachings, due to persecution from outsiders. The most typical assailants to the esoteric schools were the staunch orthodox religious communities who accused them of heresy, particularly the Roman Catholic Church in the Dark Ages that initiated the Inquisition and its horrible acts of persecution. Members of these mystical groups were all too often alleged of being inspired by Satan or evil forces, in spite of their sincere claims of being servants of God or followers of Jesus Christ. Therefore, such schools would be forced to withdraw from the public, to move underground, or be scattered to the four winds. They would spread their wisdom teachings secretly, and quite frequently disguised them with obscure allegory and symbolism. Some schools told mystical stories cloaked in deep symbolism that only the enlightened would understand, a tool Jesus Christ used in his parables to his disciples. Another example of this is the vehicle of the Tarot cards. Only trained Initiates of esoteric teachings could decipher the true meaning and occult significance hidden beneath the elaborate symbols and archetypes of these mystical, archaic cards. The exoteric and esoteric levels are found within the occult cards, hence a prime example of what mystics called the Lesser and the Greater Mysteries. The Cabbala is yet another example, and likewise this has been used as a foundation for the Tarot system.

We no longer live in the Dark Ages, although many people and schools continue to entertain the stubborn attitude of staunchly concealing the mysteries in practice and belief. Nonetheless, we believe, in this current age of a New Enlightenment that it is time for the Mysteries to be revealed. They have been artificially concealed too long now. However, we have no intention in “casting pearls before swine,” but those who are not interested in the Ancient Wisdom Teachings will not bother with them. Yes, there are the persecutors of every age, and we must deal with them accordingly. In most civilized countries, this is not as extreme as it has been in ages past, when concealment of the Mysteries was a common practice. Mankind in general had a very closed mind to any teachings out of the ordinary, hence, barbaric means of torture and persecution ensued. There is no need for the severe shielding of the Wisdom Teachings any longer, for the mind of the human being has been opening continually in recent centuries. Through investigations, experimentation, and discoveries, the advancement of Science has revealed extensive knowledge to people that the old mystics already knew or presumed. Certain discoveries or insights that were once considered esoteric or hidden science has been revealed in our education systems and has become commonplace now, such as certain elements found in the fields of astronomy, physics, biology, arithmetic, music, and so on. However, not all has been shown as yet. The Ancient Wisdom Teachings in many of its higher aspects is still held quietly by the Initiates and Teachers of various mystical schools. Those aspirants who do seek it will find it. The true teachings of the Ancient Wisdom, by their very nature, will separate the wheat from the chaff, for only the diligent seekers and enlightened ones will be able to comprehend the inner truth, because they are better prepared and are more receptive. Any aspirant who seeks shall find, and when he finds the truth, he shall be set free.

Often it is the Lesser Mysteries that are publicly taught, the exoteric level of the Ancient Wisdom. The Greater Mysteries are often reserved for Initiates and Adepts, because the inner Wisdom is revealed internally. For example, the deeper realities of Esoteric Initiations are reserved for those who have been newly initiated through the gates of Higher Wisdom, because they have begun to understand and experience these higher realities. Once this initiates advances further through spiritual unfoldment, realizing the God-Self within, he too can teach and initiate others. Using the symbology of the ancient Tabernacle, the Neophyte studies in the outer court, the Initiate practices in the second court or holy place, and the Priest and the Master (or High Priest) reside in the Holy of Holies, where these adepts teach and initiate students. This is the basic framework found in most Mystery Schools.

In certain occult schools in past ages, members would have to swear an oath of death to prevent them from speaking of the High Teachings of their inner circle to the unenlightened. There are reports that a few actually broke their oath and wrote of or taught others, so they suffered the consequences. Clearly, this death-oath is too drastic a measure and totally unnecessary. We are thankful that times do change for the better. In this current age of the Enlightened Mind, we declare that you must teach the Teachings, to spread the Word to all who would receive it. However, we believe as St. Paul does, that we should give the beginner milk, and next soft food, and eventually strong meat. This is the giving forth of the Lesser Mysteries first, then thereafter the Greater Mysteries. Concerning this, St. Paul’s said: “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as to babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.” I Corinthians 3:1-2

It may seem paradoxical to declare that we must teach the Higher Teachings, then to say we must not cast pearls before swine. This is why we offer the Lesser Mysteries to all, which are doorways to what is next, because the Greater Mysteries will follow when the seeker becomes a true Initiate. It would be unwise to directly teach deeper principles to the unenlightened, but we must give them milk first. First we prepare the way with digestible teachings, and then we give them the deeper realities when they are ready. In this way we are not concealing the teachings, but simply presenting a step-by-step process.

In past ages, there were two reasons for concealment of the Esoteric Teachings. The first was due to the unenlightened minds of people in general who were either hardhearted and skeptical or unprepared and could not comprehend deeper truths. The second involved the continual persecutions upon the schools of wisdom. Through spiritual evolution, mankind’s mind has matured to a degree, since thousands of years ago, where it can now receive the higher teachings. The sincere aspirant can more readily receive the deeper wisdom, and likewise, the barbaric and extreme means of persecution in civilized countries are practically nonexistent now. We cannot speak for all nations in this world, for we can only say the overall change covers many lands and many peoples.

The genuine Esoteric Teachings are not usually found in the conventional education system; however, if you are intuitively perceptive, you can indeed find fragments sprinkled here and there in certain university courses, or other areas of life, if you know where to look. That is, certain keys that seem like blinds or even vague hints will indeed be revealed to the intuitive seeker. You can discover universal principles in physics and the science of the atom; or realize that the building blocks of creation are in geometry and mathematics; or disclose a deeper science of the mind and soul in psychology; or explore cosmic realities in astronomy; or witness that the study of human anatomy reveals the living alchemical laboratory of the physical body. These are simple examples, and are merely the tip of the iceberg.

There will come a day when these deeper teachings will not be isolated to only the mystery schools or secret fraternities, but they will become commonplace, and shall be found in the universities or other educational systems. Certain instructors or professors even now, who are enlightened, may subtly teach the Teachings of Truth through their courses, yet in a veiled manner, just as Jesus spoke the parables to the multitudes, because there were many who could not hear the deeper mysteries. Such educators know they cannot teach these realities overtly, lest they be scorned by their administrators or students alike. The orthodox educational system is still growing and will expand its parameters in due time.

Regardless, we have indeed evolved spiritually and mentally since several thousands of years ago, this cannot be denied. But we still have quite a ways to go, because greed, distrust, hatred, and war still thrive in this world. However, the Ancient Wisdom Teachings have spread further across the globe, being revealed with far less restrictions than in past ages, whether it’s through the media, as in television and radio, the Internet, literature, CDs and DVDs, or simply given by gurus and teachers of this age. Currently, there are many ways to reveal these teachings, and our minds are indeed opening further. Therefore, the awakening and illumination of more people becomes more prevalent than ever before.
