Most of us have a slow XP computer. We bought it recently, and have done nothing in the way of keeping it cleaned. We have bigger hard drives, so we store more stuff. And the more stuff we store, the larger the chance is we are getting bogged down. And since we are always deleting files, creating new files, installing software, and uninstalling software, we are going to have some issues where the computer gets overloaded with the data on it, and the result is a slow XP computer.

Good news, though! There is a simple fix. But before I tell you about it, let me go over some of the typical solutions you may hear.

Update the Windows system: You should do this. But this does not cause the slowness. It just helps protect you from security issues.

You have a virus: OK, this could be the cause. But most likely it is not. You should have an antivirus software installed already. If not, go do it. Viruses could get into the computer, and start launching programs and attacks from within your computer, which in turn would slow it down. But this would be very rare. This will not cause the slow XP computer.

Your computer is loaded with spyware: This can cause a slow XP computer. With all of the surfing we on the internet going on, there are some sites out there dropping cookies and things on to your computer and you don’t even know. They then track your every movement. The slowness occurs in the way of how much stuff is on your computer. So while you should be concerned, it is not the likely cause of the slow XP computer.

OK, here it is: Your slow XP computer is caused by messed up registry files. Never heard of them? That is OK. Most people have not. These little files tell the computer how to handle and process the software. When these files get messed up, the computer does not know what to do. There is an easy fix for this. Use a registry repair or cleaner, and scan your computer for corrupt or missing registry files. The software will find the problems, and then fix the problems. It will take about 10 minutes, and slowness is gone. After that, run the software weekly, and this will keep the computer optimized.

So, if you have a slow XP computer, use a registry repair software and clean your registry files. It will make all the difference, and provide you with the immediate fix you need for your slow XP computer.

Respect for the environment has certainly gained acceptance around the world. Now, the concept of skin ecology, which involves consideration for the face’s environment including oils, cells and bacteria, is finally influencing developmental acne treatments.

Acne certainly opens its self up to a systemic type treatment particularly since the causes of this pestering skin condition remain multifaceted. For instance, fluctuating hormones, shifts in the weather and a drop in the body’s immune defenses are just a sampling of the unpredictable events that can lead to a zit outbreak.

Now, researchers are using a botanical extract to boost the skin’s natural immunological response to limit inflamed acne lesions. Results of the study appear in the April edition of International Journal of Cosmetic Science.

Investigators used Filipendula ulmaria, or meadowsweet, extract to treat patients with facial blemishes. The meadowsweet contains components of salicylic acid which is a beta hydroxy acid commonly used in prescription strength acne medications.

When investigators applied a 1% solution of meadowsweet extract to skins cells, this increased the production of an antimicrobial peptide called cathelicidin by 130%. This is important because excess bacterial growth coupled with a rise in inflammation characterize acne outbreaks.

After the researchers treated volunteers with a 4% concentration of meadowsweet extract, 71% of the participants witnessed a 12% drop in facial oil secretion and a 20% reduction in acne lesion counts.

Meadowsweet could be among a growing list of botanical extracts that are already used to treat acne including burdock root, yarrow, lavender and ravensara.

While, medical reviews of the effectiveness of botanical extracts is limited and often times controversial, meadowsweet now has more credibility since clinical research has linked the extract to a specific increase in the body’s defenses against bacterial growth.

Set an Effective Plan for your Business to Succeed

Anyone who’s ever been in business before or has a thorough knowledge of how to run a business is likely to tell you that the first step before starting any business is to write out a business plan. The wise will know that this is sound advice and much to the benefit of the entrepreneur or business owner, but what if you don’t know what a business plan is or how to write one? That leaves a lot of inexperienced entrepreneurs using the old “trial and error process” in starting out their first business.

However, there is very little room for failure in small business and many of those trying to build there own business are mainly driven by the principle of increasing their income. You simply cannot afford to loose your investment, but you’re also left confused - and sometimes even petrified - by terms like executive summary and break even analysis.

What’s the point? Just get out that checkbook, hire a qualified staff, and start selling! How hard can it be, right? Unfortunately this attitude can lead to very risky financial decisions that almost always end in bankruptcy or large debt.

Business Plans Don’t Have to Be Difficult

There really isn’t all that much to a business plan once you break it down. The average business plan is made up of a few key components; for example, the executive summary, financial projections, a break even analysis, profit/loss forecasts, market analysis, and a startup analysis; and takes up anywhere from 20 to 40 pages on average.

You’re Not Having a Drink with a Friend: You’re in Business

The major player in failing to plan is the constant feeling of humbleness from your business domain. When you’re sitting around with a friend having a drink and discussing an idea it’s easy to put a plan into play without ever writing it down. With your business it’s simply not that easy. You need to keep your plan on paper.

This makes things more serious. When you take the time to really analyze what you do and become consistent in following-up on that analysis you are in business. So don’t think of your business plan as a one-time startup effort. Once it’s on paper it will not be put away on a shelf or in a drawer collecting dust. You need to reread, rewrite, and rethink your plan throughout the entirety of your business.

Ask yourself the following four questions before even starting your business plan:

1) Do I know what the purpose of my business is?

2) Can I lucidly describe how my business will work to a total stranger?

3) Who is likely to be doing the same kind of business I’m doing?

4) Who is likely to be interested in my business and what I sell?

If you can answer these four simple questions then you already have enough information to start writing your business plan. These questions are basically identifying who you are (as a business), what you do (or what you plan to do), where your market is, and what chance you stand (if any) of competing in this market. This lays out the standard foundation for you to be able to evaluate weather or not the way you plan on conducting your business is going to be a good investment and time-well-spent or your worst financial and psychological nightmare.

Notice here that I used the phrase “the way you plan on conducting your business” and not “the business you plan on conducting”. Any business is feasible given the right circumstances so our objective here is to determine a means to feasibility and not necessarily the feasibility itself (which is likely to be endorsed by a more detailed feasibility report).

Let the Plan Take Its Course

Your business plan is not at all complicated and shouldn’t be viewed as a tedious process or avoided in any way. If you find something in your plan isn’t working then perhaps it’s time for a change. After all that is what the business plan is there for. If you didn’t write your plan down and keep track of changes, how would you know what works and what doesn’t?

Take the time to put your plan down on paper. There are plenty of free resources online and offline to help you put together your business plan. You can ask your local bank for a standard business plan template or get one on the Internet in minutes.

You won’t have to fill out the entire plan right away. Certain parts may take longer than others and it’s not a sequential process. Start with what you know first. Leave the executive summary (or description of your business) for later when you’re clearer about your business identity. Leave things out, or incomplete, if you’re unsure and fill them in later, or go back and make changes, when you have more information. It may not be pretty at first, but it is there to keep you focused. It also provides those people most interested in your business (such as you, your partners, shareholders, or investors) with concise and up-dated information about your business and the direction in which it’s heading.

Are you searching near and far for a way to say “adios” to your acne scars. You could literally be staring the solution in the face. That is because researchers are now investigating ways to use your own skin cells as a dermal filler to correct facial imperfections like acne scars, indentations and deep wrinkles.

Your skin cells, or fibroblasts, make the protein collagen, which gives skin its plump, youthful appearance in addition to helping repair skin damage. However, as the skin ages, collagen production slows down and the skin produces more proteins that actually cause the breakdown of collagen proteins.

Skin imperfections like acne scarring or deep wrinkling are the direct result of the loss or destruction of collagen.

For years, dermal fillers that contain silicon or bovine collagen have become a mainstay for replacing the skin’s missing collagen and correct scars and wrinkles. According to a recent study in Dermatology Surgery, researchers have cultured human fibroblasts in order treat facial imperfections like acne cicatrices and facial wrinkles.

In the study, researchers injected patients that had facial deformities like scars or indentations with living fibroblast cells or a placebo that consisted of a liquid that lacked the living cells. Study volunteers received the injections at one to two weeks intervals.

After the initial injections, investigators observed the patients’ treated areas at monthly intervals for one year. After nine months, patients who received the living fibroblast cell injections noticed a 75% improvement in the appearance of their facial marks and scarring.

Before you will see fibroblast injections at your local medical spa, this novel biomedicine will have to earn FDA approval. Nevertheless, persons who are allergic or unresponsive to bovine based collagen injections may soon have a new option for deleting acne scars and wrinkles.

Snowboarding, simply put, is sliding through snow using a board. This fast growing winter sport is already a rage with about 7 million people currently involved or interested in it and its ever growing popularity is only attracting more and more newcomers. A holiday or summer vacation does not mean that there is nothing for your child to do other than watching television or surfing the Internet. There are a whole lot of activities for your child to do. He or she will have great fun in doing them and also will gain a good learning experience at the same time.

It is very important to promote an active lifestyle for your child. It is very important for your child to get involved in physical activities like bicycling, roller skating, playing baseball etc. In fact, any sport that he or she likes. Activities that involve groups help them to develop team spirit and tolerance. They develop qualities like healthy competition. Plan a day’s schedule with your child. Set particular hours for television, video games and the Internet. It is good idea to monitor your child’s viewing. See what he watches on television and Internet. Make sure he watches programs that suits his age and are educational. You can offer fun alternatives to television. If your child wishes to watch TV but you want him or her to turn off the tube, propose that you both play a board game, play outside, start a game of hide and seek, read, work on crafts or hobbies, or listen and dance to music.

It is always great to assign some jobs like cleaning one’s own room to children. Activities like these develop dignity of labor among children. Activities like planning a week end party and organizing the party themselves are great fun for children. Activities that involve children in decorating the room for the party are also a matter of great fun for children. You can get your child involved in activities like making simple salads and decorating pizzas.

Encourage your child to take part in extracurricular activities in school and in the neighborhood. Joining a sports club, theatre productions, non profit organization working for charity etc are great activities for your child. These activities will make him social as well as prove to be great learning experience for him.

Spending time with your child and becoming a child with him is an activity that kids love the most. So spend time with your child, talk to him about his friends, his school and what he feels. Become a child with him and get involved in his activities. This will make your child get closer to you.

Bird feeders are a wonderful source of entertainment. There are so many different birds you can attract by offering them some food, especially in the winter months when the food is hard to come by. Birds love to be fed all year but really depend on the feeders during the cold snowy season.
