Why Are There Paid Online Surveys?

Every business school student, during the early part of his studies, will hear this classic formula for business success: “Find a need, and fill it!”

Bill Gates developed a PC operating system called “DOS”, and followed it up with an easier-to-use one called “Windows”. In doing so he filled a great need and made a great deal of money.

Years ago, the largest auto producer in the U.S. was the Ford Motor Company. They put America on wheels, producing affordable black cars. People started asking for different colors. Competitor General Motors took a survey and found out that this was a big, unfilled need. Henry Ford, concentrating on mass-production and low prices, said, “They can have any color they want, so long as it’s black!” General Motors listened to the prospective customers. Ford did not. For more than 50 years now, General Motors has been the largest auto producer in the U.S.!

We have a “market-driven” economy. The customer is king. By deciding where to spend his money, the customer casts his economic vote in favor of those who best fill his perceived needs, his wants, his desires.

A whole science of market research has evolved to help producers measure the market and predict what the consumer will buy. All this in order to find the needs so that the producers can fill them.

Billions are spent on consumer opinion polls, focus groups, product testing and trying to outguess the market. Thousands of companies are trying to figure out exactly which route the economic parade is going to take, so they can get there first and put their “lemonade stand” (or whatever) in place just before that economic parade comes their way.

The Internet has become a great tool for market researchers. They can get a consumer survey out in the morning and have answers back the same day! Turnaround time on surveys is cut to hours and days instead of weeks or months. Costs are low, no postage, no printing, folding and stuffing. Hit the button on the auto responder and invite 3,000 to take a new survey in seconds. Great response time! Great way to reach people in their target market population.

The only problem is developing a sufficiently large base of demographically qualified potential survey takers.

But for this, paid surveys have come along to fill the gap. Ordinary citizens like you and I can sign up for future surveys and get paid for our opinions. By putting it on a paid basis, they get volunteers in the numbers they need. And we get to develop another stream of income from taking surveys! Surveys that tell the survey makers where the needs are, what the preferences are. Because many people want to do something like what Bill Gates did, or avoid Henry Ford’s mistakes, there are many, many surveys being taken…

And we get to help! And profit in the process! What a wonderful world we live in… (!)

Should You Split-Test Your Pay Per Click Advertisements?

Most pay per click advertisers have been told to split-test their advertisements. But very few do it. Why is that? Well, most advertisers fail to understand the value of the split-testing and others think it will be too difficult. Split-testing is not difficult, and here are three reasons why you need to split-test:

1. Split-testing allows you to see what works. The formula you use for an advertisement in one niche may not work in another. What worked last month might not work anymore. Split-testing allows you to identify what works better.

2. Split-testing allows you to learn more about your customers. When you split test you can learn critical things about your niche: what is more important to your customers - free shipping or a clear understanding of the price? If you split-test, you can find out.

3. Split-testing allows you to improve your click through rates. In the long run this will increase your quality score and will reduce your bid prices. That means you will save money because you split test.

Split-testing will add a little bit of time to your efforts, but it is an investment. You will learn about your ads, your customers, and your niche. When you are successful with split-testing, you will even see your ad costs reduced, because the search engines reward you for having ads that convert to clicks. Split-testing is all about continuous learning and continuous improvement. When presented with the opportunity, you should continue to learn more about split-testing and anything else that can improve your ad performance.

Learn the Basics of Writing Successful Pay Per Click Ads

At first glance, writing a pay per click advertising can seem intimidating. You are trying to convey a lot of information in a very small space. To further complicate matters, you are paying for each click and you are being scored (by the search engine) on how effective your ads are in generating clicks. In other words, when you put an ad out there, it better be good. It needs to get clicks (which cost you money) and make you sales. Here’s the outline you need to follow to write successful ads:

Headline: get the searchers attention. Draw them in to your ad. Five times as many people will read your headline as will read the body of your ad. The headline is the most important element!

First line: Share the biggest, most powerful benefit of your product. If it cures cancer, tell the searcher right now.

Second line: Tell the searcher what the product’s most important feature is.

Display URL: most advertisers overlook the display URL. This makes it a huge opportunity for you. Be creative. Work in a feature or a benefit if you can. Either way, be sure to include the main keyword related to your product.

Destination URL: this is the simplest step, but also very important. Make sure you are sending your clicks to the right place.

Bonus tip: split test! Run two ads for every keyword. It doesn’t take much extra work. The ads can be virtually the same. In fact, keep them very similar. The idea is to see what generates more clicks and more sales. Once you have a winner, stop running the loser and try to improve on the winner (split test again).

Writing pay per click advertisements can be intimidating. Break it down piece-by-piece, as described above, and you will be on your way to success. Always test your ads and look for ways to educate yourself.

Telemetry - What Equipment Is Needed?

Telemetry is the remote measurement or the remote collection of data. Telemetry is an automated measurement process which allows people to gather data from remote location and then transmit it to the receiving telemetry equipment in order that it can be interpreted, displayed and recorded.

Often the type of telemetry equipment that is used will depend on the type and the amount of data that is to be transmitted and whether the user requires remote control capabilities as well. In the most simple of telemetry systems the data will be displayed on an annunciator, indicator and recorder. But where larger systems are concerned, then both a video display terminal and data logging are frequently called into use. Also, you will often find that much of this data will be analyzed by computers in order to provide meaning for the readings before they are actually recorded.

One of the major parts of any telemetry system is the communication channels. When telemetry first began to be used, the information provided would be relayed to the user over wires. However, today both radio transmissions and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology is used for transmitting the data. Another important piece of equipment is the telemeter which is used to record the readings provided and then transmitting them by radio to the telemetry monitoring system.

There are many companies today who advertise in scientific journals as well as online offering telemetry equipment. Such companies as these will have a wide range of equipment to offer from simple radio telemetry solutions through to the much larger site-wide communication networks which are ideal for monitoring energy consumption on any major industrial site. They will also offer such telemetry equipment as simple alarm systems and outstations along with radio modems, wireless sensors, radio telemetry links, radio data networks, scanning telemetry systems and GSM products. There are also on-site paging transmitters and receivers and high performance radio modules which can be used for integration into OEM equipment?

Many of these companies are able to provide the user with a telemetry equipment package that will be able to meet their specific requirements and are continually looking at ways of advancing the technology that is used in telemetry today.

Using Artistic Flair For Your Craft Show Crafts

While most craft show enthusiasts will consider - to some degree - that their creation is a piece of art, others consider art to be things like paintings, drawings, or other art. What are some common forms of art that can be popular at craft shows? Here are a few ideas to help you succeed selling your masterpieces at craft shows.

Painting - Yes, that beautiful landscape drawing might just be the ticket to successful craft show sales. There are some tremendous advantages to using paintings in a craft show: you can always make prints of popular pictures, you often have several different ones to display, they don’t cost a tremendous amount to product (except time), and you can usually sell popular paintings for a decent dollar. For the aspiring full-time artist, this might be a great way to get your name in front of people.

Photography - Millions of people love to take pictures. Millions more like to look at those images. Create the right picture - the one that create vivid memories or emotions in the people at the craft shows, and you’ll likely have a sale. Once again, the costs to produce the pictures aren’t high, it is an enjoyable way to spend time, you can reproduce thousands of quality pictures at a low price, and a nice 10X12 photograph (with frame) might go for $40 to $50.

Mosaic art - This type of art is becoming extremely popular, and while it might be slightly more labor intensive than the above two art forms, you can often sell your pieces for more. Depending on the base used for the mosaic art the price for a piece of work could top $100. If you create the topside of a birdbath in mosaic art, or a small bedside table top - you are looking at a nice return on your investment. Creativity and imagination are the key to this artistic endeavor.

I think the beauty of art will always be appealing. You cannot walk into any home across the continent where the walls are bare. Paintings, photographs and other forms of art adorn the walls, the cabinets and the tables around the home. A large market exists for the artist with the right flair and the eye for what appeals to today’s craft show goer!

Take time to tap into your creative side, and you will watch your revenue swell, and your bottom line grow even bigger!

How Investors Unlock Their Profit Potential With a Business Plan

Please don’t make this classic business mistake.

Some real estate investors, including many seasoned investors, fall into the trap of foolishly thinking that lots of enthusiasm and making a bunch of promises to Private Lenders is all it takes to have Private Lenders open up their checkbooks to get the financing they need to fund their deals.

Guess what? Unless you’ve approached your favorite aunt and uncle for money, most Private Lenders will want to see a business plan. Private Lenders are not going to make their decisions based solely on the promises you make, no matter how excited you might be about becoming the next Donald Trump. They realize talk is cheap.

When you’re trying to obtain financing for you your deals, a well thought out business plan will improve your standing in the eyes of potential lenders. And that’s a good thing because if you expect the Private Lenders to part with their money, you need to earn their confidence.

First, you will build a case for your real estate investing business by preparing a “lender-ready” business plan. A lender ready business plan is a plan that has been professionally prepared from the lender’s perspective. For example, most Private Lenders will want to know what your business is really attempting to achieve. You’re going to buy fixer-uppers, rehab them and then resell them. How? They’ll want to know how they’re going to get their money back. They’ll want a high rate of return; yet minimize their investment risk.

If your business plan addresses, among other things, this type of information important to Private Lenders, most Private Lenders will conclude that you are an appealing investment choice.

OK. So you’re convinced you to need to prepare a business plan. But you’ll want to make sure your plan includes the “right stuff” to get the funding you need to get the deals.

In a nutshell, here are some areas you’ll need to address in a real estate business plan so you can offer prospective Private Lenders a complete view of your business, as well as provide you with a tool you can use to gain a distinct advantage over your competition. We will use some excerpts from actual business plans submitted to Private Lenders that has empowered us to unlock the full profit potential of our real estate investing business.

1. Executive Summary.

The executive summary may be the most important part of your business plan. It is the first part Private Lenders will read, and it may be the only part that some individuals will read. The executive summary is a synopsis of the key points of the entire business plan. Its purpose is to explain the fundamentals of the business in a way that both informs and excites the reader to continue reading the entire plan.

Casa Bonita Properties, LLC (”CBP” or “the Company”) is a start-up real estate investment firm that directs, coordinates, and profits from buying undervalued single-family residences, quickly making value-enhancing renovations to the properties, and then selling the properties in the greater San Antonio metro area. The Company focuses on searching for and buying run-down, bargain-priced houses known as fixer-uppers. Through a systematic rehabilitation (rehab) or renovation process, CBP quickly adds value by completing repairs cost-effectively. These repairs will enhance the value and marketability of the homes. Once the rehab process is completed, the Company resells the property to its target market, low-to-moderate income families.

2. Company Summary.

When you prepare the company summary, you should describe the company’s current strategies.

The Company has a well-defined and systematic approach for acquiring prospective properties. By applying a selective acquisition strategy, the decision to purchase a property is an objective one based on the property’s potential profitability. Arbitrary purchases based on emotions or guesswork are not part of the equation. Consequently, there is never a need to rely on “gut feel” or to take a “seat of the pants” approach to purchasing target properties. Once a house is purchased, the property will be transformed into an attractive home by making value-enhancing improvements through a systematic rehabilitation (rehab) process. Once the rehab is completed, the homes will be resold through a “for sale by owner” program in order to reduce the expenses of sale and position the properties at aggressive pricing levels to facilitate shorter marketing times, reduced carrying or holding costs, and increased profitability.

3. Adding-Value Rehab Strategy.

In this section, you will have the unique opportunity to truly communicate to your prospective Private Lenders your rehab plan for transforming a junker into a jewel. The neighborhood eyesore will become the best looking home in the neighborhood. In this section, you get to detail for your Private Lenders exactly how you will pull it off.

The fundamental rehab strategy is to add value to each property purchased by renovating and transforming each property to the neighborhood’s market standards or quick sale condition by including the appropriate “sizzle” features to enhance marketability.
The rehab plan developed for each property will pay particular attention to curb appeal, the kitchen, and the bathrooms. These areas of the house are critical to the overall success of each project. All other areas of the house will be cosmetically improved to produce a quality product that is aesthetically appealing to prospective buyers.

Enthusiasm is good. Promises are necessary. And when it comes to real estate investing, cash is king. But Private Lenders are not going to part with their cash based on your adrenaline and your potential.

By now, I’m sure you can see that preparing a business plan for your business is a process. Your business plan must include those elements that will hold it together. There must be a definite idea behind your plan. Your message to your Private Lenders must be logically presented. It must have a continuity that carries the Private Lender along without a break. And finally, your business plan should have content that convincingly demonstrates to your Private Lender that you’re the right person to make the whole thing work.

This type of lender-ready business plan will win over many a skeptical Private Lender. It has worked for me and it will work for you if you prepare a professional lender-ready business plan. You will achieve financial success that other investors will only dream about.

How to Write Ads that Get Clicks

Creating effective pay per click advertisements is easier said than done. However, if you follow a few simple tips, you can write ads that will attract clicks. Here are five tips you can use to make sure your ads get clicks.

  1. Be sure to persuade the searcher by letting them know you have what they are looking for. Include the name (or a description) of the product in your ad. Include it more than once if you can.
  2. The landing page must deliver the promise you made in the ad (if your ad described red apples, the page your click takes the user to should tell them about red apples).
  3. Narrow down your target market. You can’t sell everything to everyone with your ad. If some people will want the blue version of your product and some people will want an extra-large, create separate ads for each.
  4. Use focused keywords for a targeted ad. For example, if you are selling a specific brand of ladies’ high heel shoes, do not bid on a keyword like “shoes”. In this case, “shoes” is too generic. Your ad could display for people looking for basketball shoes, flip flops, or work boots. That’s not what you’re selling. You are selling high heels, so pay for related keywords.
  5. Write your ads to persuade. Even though you have very little space to work with, your ad is sales writing. Persuade the searcher. Get their attention. Start to sell!

Writing effective ads is a learned skill. Start out small and build on what works for you. The five tips listed above are a great start towards writing effective ads that get clicks. As you write ads, continue to educate yourself about effective ad writing. Many free resources are available to you - take advantage of them!

Plastic Surgery Goes Mainstream

Plastic surgery has historically been viewed as an exclusive and costly service only the rich and famous could afford to pursue. Not anymore.

With even the most dramatic and promising cosmetic surgery procedures becoming safer, more common and far less complicated than ever as well as a growing inventory of options now available for financing, plastic surgery of all forms is becoming an increasingly popular life-enhancement choice for the middle class.

As a plastic surgeon in California I can say that our plastic surgery center in Beverly Hills is a good case in point. People in the entertainment industry seeking enhancement surgeries such as rhinoplasty Los Angeles and other cosmetic reconstruction now share seats in our waiting room with mothers from the suburbs, college coeds and a growing number of men from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. At our center, we may have many clients from the entertainment industry, but we treat everybody like a celebrity.

There is a distinct demographic shift taking place today. Plastic surgery is becoming a growing phenomenon among the middle class because the perception that it is exclusively an option for rich white women is waning. We are seeing people from all walks of life seeking cosmetic surgery - people from a wide variety of age groups, ethnicities, family situations, and economic stations.

Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery also offers our patients customized financing packages to cover individual procedures, such the “Rodeo Drive Mommy Makeover” a popular choice for large numbers of Latino women in their 20’s and 30’s. The mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck and other procedures. The procedure helps the moms get their body back to the way it was before they began having babies.

Financing surgery is becoming a popular option for those who do not have cash set aside. Others are socking money away for a variety of procedures, much as they would for any luxury item or family vacation. A lot of people save up for the surgery, and others chose to do financing. They are shifting their views on the expenses involved and see surgery as an important investment and first step toward an enhancement plan for the rest of their lives.

Part of the change comes because today’s plastic surgery is performed using improved technology. This results in less expensive and safer procedures with less down time. So now people with responsibilities both at work and at home can take time out for procedures, removing plastic surgery from the exclusive provenance of the leisure class. We also are doing most cosmetic surgery procedures in outpatient surgery centers which greatly improves the ease and convenience of procedures when compared to those done in the hospital setting.

Lloyd M. Krieger, MD is a California plastic surgeon and founder and medical director of Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, which specializes in rhinoplasty Los Angeles

Approaching the Astrologer - Part 3 of 3

There are numerous other technicalities that the astrologer would go through before he arrives at a mature analysis to make a prediction. But the above are the most basic. You put in a small attempt to understand the above then you’re on your way to having a better conversation with your astrologer. And every good astrologer loves to talk technical with his clients because he would be more motivated to show his astrological reasoning and that he’s doing a good piece of astrological work. Otherwise he would be blamed for just being psychic (or even pretending) and not doing real astrological work.

When you make use of astrologers you need to know that not everything is a prediction. Sometimes it might be an “explanation” sometimes a “description” and yes sometimes a “prediction”. Sometimes it involves dates sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes the astrologer can be very precise because several symbols appear to concur and converge at a specific date (like several separate symbols telling the same story about a specific event). Whereas sometimes it might not be that easy for him to ascertain a specific “moment in time” because of the divergent symbols involved in the “coming event” he should be stating.

If an astrologer has never dealt with you before or if he doesn’t know your context then he would normally begin with an overview of an aspect of your interest. For instance assume you provide the astrologer only your birth date time and place together with your name and sex. Nothing else. And you ask a question like “Tell me about my finances.” Unless he uses horary techniques in which case you should know that this is not an astrologer’s first choice of tools (most astrologers wouldn’t want to use that part of their arsenal flippantly) he would prefer to try to answer your question from your personal birth horoscope. But not knowing your “context” he would start off with an overview. He would then give you an honest analysis of what your birth chart would have to say about your “general financial experience in life”. However if you were to “offer you context” then just ask a brief but specific question. This can be as simple as “I’m thinking of buying a car but I really don’t know. So what does my chart say?”

Try not to “test” the astrologer. Especially if you think you want to prove that astrology doesn’t work. You won’t get to prove or disprove anything by dealing with one humble astrologer. For all you know the one you’re dealing with might not had studied astrology sufficiently himself.

Many astrologers started off with the wrong footing; like many other professionals in many other fields. In their passion for the glamour of being in a certain profession or position, they end up just ‘getting into a job’. They stop their studies, they close themselves to new realizations and developments, and their motivation fizzles off. There are good astrologers, and there are not-so-good astrologers, like in almost every other profession. If you have come across a medical doctor with lousy bedside manners, dispensing less than average medical advice than what you expected from a professional, it doesn’t mean the whole medical profession is populated by the same personality nor that medicine is fraudulent. It is the same with astrology and the astrologer.

What is important is for people to be responsible for their own open-ness and gullibility. Don’t accept or reject anything just because someone else said so. Dare to trust, dare to take risks. In this manner, you are liberated to do what you want and seek advice from anywhere you can. After all, opinions from other professionals are just that; opinions. And you need varied opinions to consider in order for you to make your own mature judgment over things you need to decide.

Try to know more of your personal chart always. As you do this you will get to see a certain “logic” to astrology and will get a feel of how things are being “read”. Make friends with your astrologer friend and keep on asking things about your personal life events and its relationship with your personal chart. This doesn’t mean that you live by astrology by doing this but you would be exploring a model that supposedly deals with your personal “blueprint”. Ask different astrologers about the same issues in your chart and see what others have to say. Do they concur? If not probe and ask why they said things differently. Before long you will find yourself not just knowing better astrology but even knowing more about yourself.
