First ask yourself, “Who has access to those I want to reach?” The answer is the opportunity I call, Reciprocal Partnership Marketing (RPM). RPM is a powerful marketing concept. It allows you to literally - and effectively - put your message into the hands of your prospects. Here’s how:

Mr. & Mrs. Baker buy a $1000 necklace from Albert’s Jewelry. After completing the transaction, the clerk hands a package to the Bakers and says, “Alberts Jewelry and Jim’s Insurance want you to have this jewelry cleaning cloth as our gift.” Inside the package is a jewelry cleaning cloth bearing the logos and phone numbers of the jewelry store AND the insurance agent. A card explains the importance of protecting your investment by keeping it clean. The insurance agent reciprocates by referring people to the jewelry store for appraisals in advance of writing insurance jewelry riders. In addition, upon completing an insurance sale, the agent gives the client a nice document/policyholder, again bearing the logos and phone numbers of the agent AND Alberts Jewelry. Inside, a card reinforces the value of annual insurance check-ups. The card further points out that nothing “insures” (creative license, the correct usage is “ensures”) fond memories of annual events such as anniversaries and birthdays … like fine jewelry.

Under this partnership, each company has access to prospects that have a high likelihood of needing or wanting what they have to offer. Each company’s message is delivered to the prospect in a relevant manner at an appropriate time. The concept works across a broad spectrum.

A clothing store that wants to target women for a Friday sale partners with an appropriate nightclub (bar) that features a Thursday Ladies’ Night. Specially imprinted cocktail napkins, a couple of drawings for dual-logoed prizes and a few posters promote the clothing store’s Friday event. Of course, the clothing store hypes next Thursday’s ladies night for the nightclub by handing out the nightclub’s promotional item, other promotional information and displaying posters.

And the targets I mentioned earlier? To target mothers-to-be, partner with an OB-GYN, they know who’s pregnant. Pink toilet owners? Partner with a plumber. Those who have a bobble-head on their dashboard? Partner with an instant oil-change firm. And if you really want to target left-handed buyers of blue 4-door cars®? It’s as simple as partnering with someone who sells cars.

Harnessing the power of RPM begins by asking yourself a couple simple questions. “Who has access to those I want to target?” “Where do my prospects spend their time when they’re not at work?” “Who sells a product or service that is related to my product or service?”

Reciprocal Partnership Marketing can be as simple as passing out each other’s literature. However, through creative thought, the right promotional products and approach, you can really drive up the RPM’s on the ‘ole sales-o-meter.

What they will tell you is to run a newspaper ad, magazine ad, place fliers on telephone poles, talk to (chase) your friends and family, internet ads, or go the easy (and very expensive) route and purchase “business opportunity seekers” leads. Some even have approved lead vendors affiliated within the company. (Keyword - affiliated)

2. Once you get your leads, however you go about getting them, call them up and “qualify them” for your time.

You ask them a series of pre-written questions by following a provided script and determine their answers to qualify them as serious or curious.

3. Put them through the system. You instruct the serious leads to attend a live/recorded business overview call, or send them to your website to get all the juicy details.

4. You follow up with them, either they call you or you call them back. You take their temperature based on the information they received. If they rank high enough on the scale…

5. You 3 way them over to another leaderto get their questions answered and collect the decision. After the 3 way, if they say yes = you get paid!

Very simple isn’t it? And by the way… they say that you only have to work your business a couple hours a day to get results. (Tempting, really)

Company Training:

Most companies have some sort of training involved through live calls - scheduled throughout the week or even recorded versions on a specific number and some even have web-meetings in their back office. This makes it convenient to people that are still working their J-O-Bs to get the necessary training to run their business compliantly. (This is also included in the pitch)

Within these training events, you are taught how to prospect (talk to people), how to do 3 ways, and how to sign people up. Some even throw in the psychology and mindset training to mentally prepare you for all of these. They offer support from many other leaders including your sponsors, and that support generally refers you to “see step one, two or three” Or my favorite… “You haven’t purchased the high dollar level and until you do you wont make any money and I wont work with you” I personally love that one!

Either way, support is provided and every now and then you actually get a sponsor that will truly advise you and help you, without actually giving it to you. If you are one of the few that gets an up line like that, consider yourself very fortunate! This system actually works and few people are seeing results by this.

But there is still something missing.

Something very important that will literally put you on stage in the next company event. Something that will change everything about your business and make you THE TOP INCOME EARNER. Something, and I would bet, that none of these so called “company super stars” even know.The suspense is killing you, I know… bare with me… its coming. The missing ingredient is actually in the name itself. “Network Marketing” Do you see it? It’s as plain as the nose on your face…Give up?

It’s Marketing! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! You win a prize!

Its step one! It’s the end all be all! It’s the most valuable tool that you must learn how to do in order to succeed in any business, online or off!

“Well, that was easy.”

Do these companies teach you how to market their products or business opportunity…? (Please, if you are not sitting, do so now) Drum roll please…The answer is…

NO!

6. People pay you to prospect them!

7. Anyone can duplicate your success just by plugging into the system, therefore less chance of attrition.

8.You and your team members make cash quickly, even from people who don’t join your organization.

9.You won’t have to take out a second mortgage to cover your advertising expenses.

10. You don’t have to worry about making ends meet and stress over the bills.

11. You don’t have to concern yourself with losing everything you’ve got!

12. All you will have to do is simply open the doors, and let them in. If, and only if, you do this business right!

The problem is that the majority of network marketers and home business owners don’t do it right, because they don’t know how to market!

Now, for those of you who are already in this industry, you may be wondering…

“Yeah, but, what about so in so that makes $147,000 a month, or this couple that gets the “star of the year” award for most sales… how did they do it if they don’t know how to market? They all say to just simply follow the system and that’s it… Answer that one!” Fair enough… they won’t reveal their secrets…

So, I’LLLL tell ya!

For one thing, most of the top income earners in any network marketing company has paid their dues. They will tell you that. Whether it be they tried and failed for 20 years before they hit the winning numbers or had enough money stashed to pay someone else to market for them. Or, where able to take out a loan, or borrow the money or tap into their 401K (they may not tell you that).

What ever the case may be, they finally hired someone to market for them and generate their own live high quality leads. (They won’t tell you that) If they are experienced enough to have figured out how to market their business, they either don’t understand it well enough to explain it to others or they simply don’t want to put in the effort to teach and train people.

I believe that the simplest answers are most likely the right answers, they just don’t know how. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they teach you? It would benefit them as well if their down line can duplicate what they are doing. Now, they will tell you to go the easy route and buy leads and work the numbers until you get established, or place a simple 3 line newspaper ad that will give you leads.

Quite simply because they know that for the average Joe, like you and me, that gets suckered into the “ease” of the business opportunity can’t afford to pay someone A LOT of money to advertise the right way or to market their opportunity. Plus… the majority of people getting started in this industry are tired of their miserable lives and are flat out broke and desperately looking for a way out. Then, fall prey to a “get rich quick, simple plug and play system” because they will do anything to get what they want.

For those of us who do not have an Uncle Bob that could or would loan us any money, or have that 401K or trust fund to tap into, or have lousy credit and the bank wouldn’t even loan us a dime, or have a house full of kids and time is a precious commodity. There is finally a solution to our problems.

You actually have a few choices

1. You can spend months learning how to research and market online. Go through trial and error and waste a ton of money testing the net out with pay per click advertising (Google can be brutal) or spend several hundred dollars and have Yahoo or Google “place you in the search engine directories” for a fee. (By the way, they don’t guarantee you will be accepted and submitted but you still have to pay them the fees for considering your site and then wait FOREVER to see it there)

2. Hire someone to build you a marketing website, submit it to search engines and host it for you. (By the way, this cost anywhere from $350 on up plus the monthly fees. And who is to say they know what they are doing as far as search engine optimization. (Plus, they’re leaving your money on the table–more of that later) Annnnd, you still have to drive traffic “people” to it — more out of pocket money)

3. Go with what the business reps tell you. Spend all your money on leads and newspaper ads. File bankruptcy, lose your house, get divorced and never reach your dreams of being a successful entrepreneur.

4. Or… Invest in your present and learn everything possible up front before you get started. Even for the veteran entrepreneur, though you cannot go back and make a brand new start, my friend, anyone can start from now and make a brand new end. Learn everything you can about a business before you get started and even after you have joined, learn as much and spend as much necessary to broaden your knowledge of marketing your business. (FYI- a lot of what you need is free, however some is not, you just need to know where to look and trust)

Quite simply, the choice is yours. But be-warned, if you do not know what you are doing in this business, you will not succeed. Period. End of story. Remember, This type of business is solely related to marketing and promoting by people who haveno idea how to market and promote!

The sensible option is the 4th option. If you are serious about starting a home based business, whether it is selling vitamins, lotions or potions or whatever you find out there, there are rules to the game that the majority of players don’t know and don’t completely understand, or simply won’t tell you. Which is why there are so many struggling and failing in this industry. Why not be the one to make it happen before you begin the process.

Even the ones that are in this industry already can now breathe a little easier knowing that there is someone out there willing to truly help you succeed. Each serving has 150 mg of sodium and 75 mg of potassium and total carbohydrates are nine grams. There are zero grams of sugar or protein, but 25 mg of vitamin B6. Climbing simply put is the sport of manual ascent and has now taken the form of a fully fledged sport. But, climbing should not be taken lightly. It is an advanced skill and training is a must to practice and participate in this sport. The risks involved are high on account of the nature of sport, i.e. climbing heights, and hence use of safety gear is considered essential. Climbing as a sport invariably involves dangers - but these can be minimized with correct preparation and training. Its popularity is due to the passion of people who go for it for individual satisfaction. There are various types of climbing.

“Climbing” is used synonymously with mountaineering or rock climbing and has a range of variations based on the place and structure that is climbed and the equipment used. Climbing can be either indoor on artificial climbing structures or outdoors on natural formations. It can also be classified on whether any safety gear is used or not.

Rock climbing in its most traditional form involves climbing from the bottom of a huge rock or a mountain with the aim of reaching the top. In view of the dangers involved the safety gear used here is usually a simple rope that is fastened to the climber and connected to special wedges placed on the climber’s path upwards. In case of a fall the rope hooked to the wedges and nuts placed in the cracks of the rock prevents the climber from injury. Sport climbing is a faster and safer type as the climber makes use of the wedges and protective pieces put up on the rock on a permanent basis and need not carry them with him. Free solo climbing uses no safety gear at all and is performed only by professionals as a fall most definitely could lead to death or very severe injury. Bouldering is another type of climbing where the climber ascends on boulders and as the boulder height is usually limited to 15 feet no equipment is used. Ice climbing is just the same as traditional rock climbing except that the climber scales an ice formation such as a glacier instead of a rock and needs special gear for holding on to ice. Top rope climbing is where a rope is suspended from an anchor situated at the top of a not so high climb and the climber is protected by his partner who holds the rope at one end. Tree climbing is the oldest form of climbing and it is often said that this sport arrived as early as the existence of trees. The sport is simply explained as climbing trees efficiently and does not demand high physical strength as other forms of climbing. Tip-offs are usually given by experts to master the tree climbing art.

Everything apart, climbing is a sport meant for those who are excited by heights and are fascinated by the thought of scaling them. If you have a passion for heights and are physically fit and mentally strong then climbing should be a good choice.

Have you ever noticed that a herd of lembu or cows, all tend to move together in the same direction? Have you often wondered why this phenomenon occurs?

Imagine that you are taking a slow and leisurely drive along one of Malaysia’s lovely scenic country roads, away from the speeding juggernauts and cars on the North South highway. As you drive, you take in all the rolling fields of lalang, oil palm plantations stretching as far as the eye can see. Suddenly, something catches your attention. It’s a herd of lembu up ahead, in a nearby open field. Curiosity gets the better of you and you park off the road to investigate further. And there, you stand beside your car, in the middle of nowhere, watching the herd instinct in action.

For unexplained reasons, you scramble towards a low wooden fence and catch up to the lembu as the herd slowly makes its way across the field of lalang. Curious as to why they would all move in the same direction, you look towards the center of the herd and wonder aloud: “Why are all the lembu walking in this particular direction, as if on auto pilot?”

When I ask this question at all my seminars, the response I hear from delegates from all over the world is invariably the same: “They’re all moving in the same direction because everybody else is!”

People and organizations too are like this herd of lembu. They too are strongly influenced by the direction of the surrounding herd. Just take a look at the behavior of some NGO’s in the developed world.

First, we have the so-called Centre for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). Helmed by its Executive Director, the infamous Michael Jacobson, and backed by an annual budget in excess of US$16 million, CSPI has launched disinformation campaigns against Malaysian Palm Oil. In fact, so disingenuous has been Jacobson’s claims that he has earned the rare distinction of being called various things in the media - ranging from the benign “Consumer Advocate” to the less flattering “Nutrition Terrorist”, “Terrorist”, “Food Cop”, “Killjoy”, “Food Fascist”, “Food Nazi” etc. In fact, the latter labels appear with such stunning regularity in the media that few men could have been so definitively defined.

Jacobson, to put it mildly, is guilty of utter disregard for the truth and scientific facts, frequently exaggerating figures and claims to advance CSPI’s own agenda

Having failed in a campaign in the eighties to portray palm oil as unhealthy, Jacobson and CSPI have been racking their collective brains as to how to discredit what is, inherently, healthy oil. Health claims or the converse, “un-healthy” claims, of course, have to be backed by rational science. However, these are matters that CSPI, despite their grandiose and associative-scientific sounding name, would have difficulty in delivering. Throwing figures and “facts” that would fail to pass muster for a secondary school science project, CSPI recklessly and with gay abandon, continues to launch fresh attacks, this time targeting the sustainability of oil palm cultivation. They argue, most deviously, that oil palm plantations have led to the destruction of rainforests and consequently, have deprived orang utans of their natural habitat. Interesting. Perhaps, even persuasive. If not, for the facts!

The superior sustainability of the Malaysian palm oil industry is patently obvious, and it is clear that the Malaysian oil palm cultivation is superior to any large scale agriculture in the tropics or the temperate countries in terms of sustainability parameters. The plantation industry is professionally managed, with many of them such as IOI Corporation, Golden Hope, PPB Group and KL Kepong, operating as listed corporations on the Malaysian stock market where corporate governance and corporate responsibility are well practiced more than farm activities in other parts of the world. The Palm Oil Truth Foundation ( href="http://www.palmoiltruthfoundation.com">www.palmoiltruthfoundation.com) has sought to remedy the misconception that palm oil contributes to deforestation and enlighten the world of the fact that the Malaysian Palm Oil industry has always adopted sustainable cultivation best practices, including conservation and replanting. The MPOC, in fact has set up a US$5 Million Conservation Fund to assist in wild-life conservation.

But Jacobson understands the lembu phenomenon and knows that the herd instinct will take over. And sure enough, the NGO’s and other organizations have taken the bait and like the proverbial lembu, have predictably, blindly followed the herd.

First, the BBC sent a film crew to film the so-called deforestation and habitat loss of the Orang Utans. Then the NGO’s added their voices to the irrational chorus of calls for consumers to avoid palm oil products as they had allegedly come from unsustainable sources. The Friends of the Earth, a UK NGO alleges that “the palm oil industry is now considered by scientists as the biggest threat to the Orang Utan”! Scientists? Which scientists? The pseudo-scientists from the verbose sounding “Center for Science in the Public Interest”? It was almost hilarious to watch documentary after documentary warning of the dangers of palm oil because of the damage caused by the humble oil to Orang Utan habitats. Hilarious because nothing could be further from the truth, at least as far as Malaysia is concerned!

Comprehensive policies and laws on environmental protection are in place in Malaysia and are strictly enforced by the Department of Environment. Endangered species, including Orang Utans, needing protection are given priority with strong conservation programs put in place. Sabah, with a growing palm oil industry and one of the largest states in Malaysia had drafted a master list of protected areas based on the guidelines of the World Conservation Union (IUCN). In fact, 21.8% of Sabah is now protected, more than double the 10% recommended by the IUCN. It is also interesting to note that the Malaysian Palm oil industry is the prime mover for the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil to encourage best practices and to minimize any adverse impact on the environment by the industry, long before the latest shenanigans initiated by CSPI started.

Almost all oil palm expansion in Malaysia is pursued through the conversion of existing rubber, cocoa and coconut plantations or from logged over forest areas which have been earmarked for agriculture. Moreover, out of the total land area of 30.2 million hectares, only 6 million hectares have been designated for agriculture under the Third Malaysia Agricultural Plan. Oil palm cultivation falls well within the area zoned for agriculture. Ironically, the area still under forest cover remains at well over 60 %, certainly much higher than that of the developed nations from which all this brouhaha over Orang Utan habitats are originating.

Recently, the European Free Alliance MEP’s together with an MEP grouping known as The Greens in the European Parliament (together, they form the 4th largest grouping in the European Parliament) lent their not inconsiderable voice to the issue. Lobbying the European Parliament’s “Industry, Technology, Research and Energy Committee”, which is tasked with proposing energy policies with an agreed EU target of 25% biomass renewables by 2020, this grouping managed to get the Energy committee to include, inter alia an amendment to “ban the use of palm oil for feeding our cars” due to the “lack of environmental standards and safeguards” leading to “an increase in tropical deforestation”, whilst “failing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly”! Couching their proposal in euphemistic language, and this really takes the cake, the grouping went on to justify their proposal on the basis that the emergence of a European biofuels sector would offer opportunities for biofuel technology transfer to developing countries crippled by rising oil prices! It is this last statement that gives a clue as to the grouping’s real agenda and intentions. The proposal is designed to protect their turf, to protect the European biofuel sector! So much for all the WTO rules against protectionism.

It is about time that the world wakes up to such insidious and deceptive campaigns and that can only be achieved when the world develops the discernment to see through the veil and stop being lembus. That may be counter-intuitive but the herd instinct can only be overcome through education and clear branding and communication programs. Programs that will, ultimately, expose the lies and half-truths that appear to be the penchant and almost exclusive purview of CSPI and others of their ilk.
