Summer Jobs for College Students - Read These Guidelines Before You Take a Summer Job

I’ve been out of school for a few years. Since I graduated, I’ve learned all sorts of things I wish I knew while I was in school. I want to give you a set of guidelines for summer jobs, so you get paid what you’re worth (and not worked to the bone for some unappreciative jerk of a boss.)

1. Do not settle for anything less than $15-$30 an hour. Paid by the hour.

Frankly, I’m disgusted with the low-wages some college students are willing to work for in the summer. When I met my girlfriend, she was folding clothes for Jasmine Sola for $8.50 an hour! And she didn’t even have an option for commission (although I strongly caution against taking commission-based summer jobs anyway…)

In fact, while we’re on the subject - I know plenty of college students who take some sales position during the summer. Their boss promises that they’ll make a ton of money at the job. And the kid goes home, bragging to his friends how he’ll be an overnight millionaire because his boss said so. Then, at the end of the summer, the savvy college student takes his total earnings and divides it by the hours he worked… only to find that he was earning a pitiful $13 an hour!!! (Your reading the voice of experience here.)

And don’t even get me started on restaurant jobs - there’s a reason why most waitresses smoke a pack of cigarettes a day! Not that they can afford the habit, but….

Bottom Line: Don’t work for commission. Don’t work for tips. Don’t do sales. Period. Yes, everyone knows some guy or some girl who made a killing one summer. But those people are probably 1% of the people who work those jobs. The vast majority of people end up bitter, stressed and broke before we quit those jobs.

The only exception I would make is if your summer job is directly building your entry to the career path you want to enter. Then, and only then, would I advise working something that pays less than $15-$30 an hour.

2. Surf craigslist.com. Daily.

Craigslist is your best friend - it is far superior to Monster.com, CareerBuilder and all the others for finding easy, high paying part time jobs. Search it far and wide and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what’s out there in your city.

3. Trust your instincts, Luke.

If you go into a job and you get a bad vibe, walk away. WALK AWAY. It seems like common sense, but I’ve met enough people who don’t. So keep this in mind…

Contrary to most internet marketers, Erick shows people how they can get easy, high paying part time jobs that pay by the hour. This gives people a chance to have choice over when and how they work, without stress or worry about money or being over-worked.

Your PR Doctor’s Ten Top Reasons To Tell You It’s Time To Hire A Publicist or Public Relations Firm

Today’s businesses and business professionals wonder how they can possibly know if they need to hire a publicist or a public relations firm. Obviously there are many factors to consider when making this decision. To provide some guidance to businesses, here are ten top reasons that provide confirmation you need to hire a publicist or PR firm.

1. The news releases you have prepared and submitted never or very rarely are used by the media.

2. There is a significant lack of PR savvy internally within your company.

3. Your media kits are not designed to be consistent with the firm’s image and are not designed with the flexibility to be tailored to varying media needs.

4. There are no significant relationships established with the media and therefore you are easily ignored. And there are no solid media contacts lists.

5. There is no real strategic communications and public relations plan for the company.

6. The efforts put forth in opinion pieces, “pitch letters” and actual media kit content are totally ineffective.

7. There is no follow-up on any news releases, story pitches, etc.

8. Your competitors are constantly in the print and electronic media and you are nowhere to be found in the media.

9. You are turning down interview opportunities because you are not prepared and do not have someone to manage the interview requests.

10. You are not benefiting from increased awareness of your business, products and/or services through exposure in the media.

If you and your company identify with these reasons and are unsure of what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and who to do it with, please contact Glenn Ebersole through his web site at www.prdoctor4u.com or email at jgeprman@aol.com to learn more about working with the media.

Why You Shouldn’t Listen To Others As Regards Your Small Breasts Size

I am sick and tired of hearing ladies with good looking breasts telling others those with small breasts not to do anything about it. If you are one of such ladies with small breasts, this article will tell you why you shouldn’t listen to them but go ahead and do what needs to be done to gain back your self confidence.

If truth be told, MOST of the ladies out there and the men out there desire nice looking breasts size. Even if the men won’t accept it, they just can’t get their eyes off the ladies with beautiful looking breasts.

Don’t believe me? Take a good look at your man when both of you are walking around ladies with beautiful looking breast size! He will most certainly stare!

Any wonder why the magazines, movies, etc keep using ladies with beautiful looking breasts size? If it was so “okay” to have small breasts, why don’t they use ladies with such small breasts?

I have come to notice that most of those that always say women should “make do with what nature has given” and not think about enlarging their breasts via breast enlargement surgery or breast enlargement pills, pumps, etc usually have the right size of breasts.

Because of this they just can’t understand why the ladies with small breasts what to do something to increase the breasts.

Some of them do, but they just don’t want these ladies to get good breasts size and look good too.

Tell me — can someone who doesn’t have a particular problem truly understand what the other person with the problem is going through?

No way!

It is very EASY to tell others what NOT to do and what to do, because we are not in their shoes.

It is very EASY to tell ladies with small breasts to “make do with what nature has given” when we are not in their shoes.

But the truth remains that — “he” who wears the tight-fitting shoes knows where it hurts!

Or better still… SHE who carries the burden of the small breasts knows where it hurts!

So, don’t listen to ladies telling you not to do anything to increase the size of your breasts. They can say so because they have no idea what you are going through.

If you want breast enlargement surgery or to use breast enlargement creams, pills, herbs, etc, go ahead and do it!

But a NOTE OF WARNING here…

Breast enlargement surgery can be RISKY if care is not taken. I will advice you to first consider natural breast enlargement.

Yes, it DOES WORK and has worked for lots of ladies that have tried it.

It can work for you if you do your home work and get the right information about natural breast enlargement using herbs.

Better still, find any lady that has achieved GREAT results with natural breast enlargement and ask her what she did to get her results.

Read the AMAZING True Life Breast Enlargement Story of an ordinary lady like YOU that used natural breast enlargement to get the breast size she wanted. The FREE Website - Breast Enlargement Truths also provides ALL her true before and after pictures.

Five Tips For Creating Landing Pages That Sell

In order to make your pay per click advertisements effective, you need to have an effective landing page. Ideally your landing page will generate sales for you. So how do you create landing pages that sell? Here are five important tips:

1. Get the readers attention. Five people will read your headline for every one that reads the body. The same is true when they get to your landing page. Your headline must grab their attention. If you don’t get their attention, they will go away.

2. The headline on your landing page must match the copy of your ad. It doesn’t need to match word for word. But it can’t confuse the reader either. If your advertisement is about football, the headline on your landing page should be about football — not about baseball or basketball.

3. Include a photo or a graphic. It adds credibility to your site. Keep it on the left side of the page. You will get better results.

4. Be sure to include a call to action (something like “click here to order”) and make it a link. People understand what links are. They will click on them. You just need to direct them to do so.

5. Ask your reader what they want. Solicit feedback. Include some questions. Ask them to email you. This is how you will learn. It may not benefit your first landing page directly, but it will help you to build better landing pages in the future.

There you have it. Five steps for creating landing pages that sell. Use them and you are on your way to building great landing pages. There’s still a lot more to learn. But those tips should help you immensely.

How To Be A Good Leader In The Best Home Base Business Opportunity?

Let me begin by asking you a question. What do you think is the most important factor leading to the success of a network marketing home base business? Most of the people may think that the products or services offered in a home based network marketing business is the main factor but I beg to differ. Yes, it is indeed a crucial factor but not the most impactful one which constitutes to the rise or fall of a network marketing business.I would say it is your leader who is largely the cause of success or failure in your network marketing business.

So, what makes a good leader? A good leader influences; he/she has the ability to inspire others
with the desire to follow him/her. In a network marketing, you will gradually fill the role of leadership when you have people under you in time to come. You are going to be a role model whom your team members look upon and respect. Your attitude, either impedes or inspires them to go higher to achieve their financial freedom. To be true leader, you have to adhere to the following laws of leadership.

The first law states that you, as a leader, must have a dream larger than those you lead. You must envision the scope of the business you are in. Your downline will always be looking upline for visionary leadership. Big dreamers inspire others to dream. You have to learn to communicate with your dreams and goals, and be able to transfer them to your downline. Visionary leaders establish themselves as forward thinkers. They look at what does not exist right now and they see it already existing. The size of your dream will always affect the amount of effort you are willing to put in. Your downline wants to know that you are thinking bigger so that their financial goals will coincide with yours.

The second law states that a leader must have an attitude superior to those he/she leads. Attitude control is a constant battle. Leaders feed themselves continuously with powerful thoughts and act in an upbeat manner at all times. The true leader is one that sees the solution and does not focus on the problems. Positive information is gained from reading books on personal development and listening to positive thinking tapes. Positive attitudes are contagious just as negative ones are. Negative attitude spreads faster than positive so careful not to show any negativity. One critical statement about the company, upline, or the products by a leader can weaken and even destroy organisations.

The third law states a responsible leader is first to admit his/her mistake. There is nothing more damaging to an organisation than a leader who is “always right”. Leaders should always understand that they are responsible for the things that go wrong in the growth of the organisation, regardless of the actual responsibility. The leader sees the danger in placing blame on others and takes it himself or herself to be the lightening rod for critism.

The fourth law states that a leader is a decision maker. Nothing is more demoralising than indecisive leadership. Someone once said a leader is concerned with doing the right thing while a manager concerns themselves with things right. Not all of your decision will be correct but as long as you’re making them and making them with the right reasons in mind, you’ll learn to make right decisions more often. Your decisions will get better as you gain experience.

Last but not the least, the leader puts those he/she leads first. A leader understands that by putting others before yourself, you gain trust and confidence from your downline. When your group knows that you’re looking out for them and their best interests at heart, they will work harder for the simple fact that they know you want them to succeed!

Spring Fashion Forecast

Living in LA, we are completely spoiled by our weather. There is little difference between the seasons, so forgive us, if we are not quite as excited about the imminence of spring as the rest of the world. We haven’t had to suffer through five months of snow and rain. For us, spring is less about the change in the weather and the hopes of getting our legs out, as it is an opportunity to refine our wardrobes and add a little more color to them. By following theses three spring trends you can get your spring look off to a great start no matter where you live and what your budget may be.

Geometry Lesson
Spring is often associated with Easter, pastels, cherry blossoms, and worrying about your newly exposed pasty legs. This spring however, you can forget about pastels, as it’s all about bright, bold, retro and geometric prints. Add some color and warmth to your days with a boldly printed skirt or dress.

This trend does require some extra care and attention. The loud prints have the potential to upstage you, so try to find a print that complements your natural coloring. If you are fair, look for prints with slightly lighter colors, possibly against a white background. Women with darker hair and skin can pull off brighter prints more easily. If you feel like you are getting lost in your dress, you can always pair a bold skirt with a solid colored top to tone the look down a bit.

Designers from every price point can be seen working this trend. From Milly and Iodice Hilda, to Forever 21, everyone should be able to find a piece that will suit them and their budget.

Sweet Creams
The springtime equivalent to the little black dress is the little cream dress. White tends to look too harsh on our not quite tanned yet bodies. Save white for the dead of summer after you’ve spent a little time at the beach or the pool. Cream, however still gives that light, fresh, feminine look, without creating too much contrast.

My favorite spring dresses incorporate texture into the pattern or print. Try to find a cream dress that has texture in the fabric or details such as eyelet or lace, interesting piping, or great buttons. This creates interest and movement in your monochromatic look. You can also accessorize with a little color to create added drama. Try pairing a cream dress with a muted metallic shoe or a brightly colored cuff.

Cream dresses are everywhere right now. You can find them in a multitude of styles such as A line, trapeze, empire, and shift. Check out the spring collections of 3.1 Philip Lim, Chloe, BCBG, and Vanitas for great creamy delights.

Trapeze Act
The juvenile silhouette of the trapeze top or jacket is popping up in collections and stores the world over. This look, which flares out from under the bust is great for almost anyone, especially if you are having a fat day. With so much extra fabric to swish around, you can’t help but feel younger, thinner, and more feminine when sporting this trend.

Counter act the little girl look by glaming up your trapeze top with skinny jeans and killer heels. Finish off the look with sophisticated accessories. You can also pair leggings with muted metallic heels or ankle boots with your trapeze dress for a funky take on this trend.

Gucci, Derek Lam, Peter Som, and Giambattista Valli are just a few of the designers that successfully incorporated the trapeze silhouette into their spring 2007 collections.

Remember, spring fashion is a little more fun and flirty this year. Dare to be bold in a great print. Find yourself a feminine cream dress, and tap in to your inner child in an amazingly comfortable yet fashionable trapeze dress. Each of these trends can be found at any price, from your local Forever 21 to the latest ready to wear collections. Enjoy finding the pieces that are perfect for you and your budget, then put your own spin on them!

The Purpose of Landing Pages for Your Pay Per Click Advertisements

Pay per click advertisers know that they need to create quality landing pages. The search engines demand it. A quality landing page helps reduce the cost of each click. So what do you need to have on your landing page? There are three main options:

  1. Use your landing page as a way to get subscribers to your newsletter. Something as simple as an opt-in form can be all you need to create an effective landing page.
  2. Use your landing page to sell a product
  3. Use your landing page to allow visitors to download a trial version of your software.

Whatever you do with your landing page, make sure you track what happens. Are people signing up?

It is critically important that you have your keywords on your landing page. However, you cannot simply paste them in haphazardly. Your keywords need to be placed on your landing page in a meaningful order. Ideally you should use your keywords to deliver content to your readers. The keywords on your landing page should match the keywords the user is searching for and the keywords that are in your ad.

Effective landing pages are key to ensuring you have a successful pay per click campaign. Include your keywords in your keyword list, in your advertisement, and in your landing pages. Deliver quality content in your ad and on your landing page and you will get clicks and sales. However, they are only part of the equation. Whenever you have the opportunity, make sure to learn more about landing pages and pay per click strategies. Small improvements can add up to big profits.

Good Things Come from Polygraph

Usually when someone thinks of polygraph the mental picture of Robert Di Niro administering a test to his potential son-in law in the movie “Meet the Fockers” comes to mind. Or maybe the Maury Show with Maury Povich. But these are typically negative images of polygraph testing. If you ever actually spoke with a polygraph examiner and had them tell you about their clients and the types of testing they do you may have a totally different perspective. A great amount of their work comes in the form of helping people somehow prove they are innocent of something.

Every day a professional private polygraph examiner will receive calls from people asking about testing to show they didn’t commit a specific act or didn’t engage in a certain activity. Not every person who is accused of something is guilty. There are many things that motivate people to try to hurt another individual by accusing them of something absolutely horrendous. Many times these type accusations come during divorces. I do not believe there is any more intense hatred than that which can come between two people who at one time must greatly cared for each other.

Sometimes a polygraph examiner will actually save a marriage when someone is falsely accused of infidelity. Most private polygraph examiners conduct lots of these type tests. They don’t always save the marriage. In fact, sometimes the person who takes the test doesn’t fair well. But it makes you feel good when you are able to help a person believe that their spouse is not cheating. I’ve seen many different scenarios in these type situations. Sometimes these situations are fueled by some third party who doesn’t care for the accused spouse. Maybe an in-law or a friend of one the people may be the person providing the fuel.

Then again I’ve seen the situation where the person taking the test has come in fully expecting to not do well and this is their way of ending the marriage. Every polygraph examiner who does this type testing has had different things happen.

The other type testing that polygraph examiners get lots of calls on comes after a bad marriage and someone is accused of sexually molesting a child. Since most of us who are private polygraph examiners came from law enforcement we certainly do not want to have a child molester on the loose. Therefore, these are tests that every examiner works extremely hard to get right. Not that they don’t do this on every test but these are very critical tests. They are not only very crucial for the child’s sake but for the person who is accused. There is nothing that can ruin a person any more than being accused of child sex abuse.

Ten Top Benefits of Strategic Thinking and Planning For Business and Not For Profit Organizations

What are the real benefits of strategic thinking and planning for business for a not for profit organization? This is one of the most frequently asked questions I have encountered in more than 30 years of work in strategic planning endeavors. In preparing to write this article I reflected on those years of experience and chose what I believe to be ten top benefits of strategic thinking and planning. These are not listed in a priority order.

+-Influence rather than be influenced. This means being proactive rather than reactive.

+-Clarify or re-define your role and your target group. This has the benefit of bringing everyone together with a strategic focus.

+-Deal positively with the inevitable changes that will occur. This will assist in the development of a confident and flexible company or organization that can adapt to change.

+-Address critical issues you are facing. This is a significant benefit because it facilitates resolving issues in a timely manner that can hold back the growth of your business if left unresolved.

+-Find innovative ways to achieve goals. This helps create and foster an environment of creativity in your business and organization and will facilitate positive growth.

+-Decrease crisis management. This will reduce the amount of time spent
“putting out fires” in the organization and expand the time available to work “on the business,” as opposed to just working “in the business.”

+-Give continuity during changing times or when there is new leadership. This provides a stabilizing factor to the company during change and also will create the feeling of opportunities brought about by change.

+-Use resources efficiently and effectively. This positively impacts the ability of the business to grow at a higher rate with an “improved bottom line.”

+-Anticipate issues and develop policies and procedures to meet future needs. This enhances decision making in the organization.

+-Gain commitment and bring your group together to work on common goals.- This helps build stronger teams with a clear sense of direction.

Saving Money On Home Repairs - Sometimes You Can Save Money Hiring A Specialist

We had just bought a fifteen-year old house that needed a lot of cosmetic work but nothing major. So we could live in the house and still fix it up we worked on one room at time allowing the rest of the house to be uninterrupted by construction projects.

After being in the house for one year we began to have problems with the drain pipe that led from the house to the street. Since we had a municipal sewer system there was no septic tank to worry about so the problem had to be in the pipe itself. There was till a homeowners warrantee intact so I called them to look into the problem. They came out with a drain clean out tool that went down into the pipe to clear any obstructions that it came across. The machine seemed to hit something and then smooth out so the plumber went out a few more feet still unobstructed. When he pulled the cable out of the pipe on the end of it was a clump of small roots. That told us that there must be a break in the pipe around fifteen feet from the house. I started to dig and around five feet down I found the broken joint. It turned out that the land running underneath the pipe was a mini sink hole and the earth was being pulled down in one section and not the other shearing the pipe joint as the weight of the soil pulled part of the pipe down. I replaced the joint and filled in the dirt that had sunk into the sink hole and filled everything in planted new grass and everything. After everything was added up the job didn’t really cost that much.

The drains worked fine for around eight months when the same thing started happening again. It started backing up for no apparent reason. I thought that the joint broke again so I dig that up first and it was fine. I called the plumbing company I do business with and asked them what I should do and they said snake out the pipe again. They had a machine to do that and they could do it cheap. Once they were finished snaking the drain it worked fine for around three weeks when it backed up again. I called the plumber again and they snaked the drain again. That went on for four plumber visits needless to say it was getting expensive and frustrating dealing with a problem that should be so simple to fix.

The next time it backed up I called Rooter-Rooter a company that specializes in clogged drains. They cautioned me right up front that they charge a little more than a plumber would because they have expensive equipment engineered to clean drains. They came over and had to use a winch to unload the machine from the truck. The plumber just carried his like it was a suitcase or something. It was a really big difference in equipment. The end of the Rooter-Rooter cable had an auger on it to chew through whatever was in the pipe and restore the pipe to its original inside diameter where the plumber had just a cable end that merely punched a small hole in the obstruction. That was over a year ago and I have not had problems with the drain since. That was one instance where it would have been better to call the specialists first and pay a little extra instead of paying for someone who doesn’t specialize in that type of work. I still use the same plumber because they are excellent plumbers. But if I need a drain cleaned I will definitely call the specialists in that field, Rooter-Rooter.
