Symmetrical Triangles – Using Them to Spot Big Profitable Moves

Symmetrical triangles are highly reliable trading patterns and are normally pauses within major trends.

Prices normally break in the direction of the trend and move strongly, although a break in the opposite direction can be just as effective.

What is a symmetrical triangle?

The symmetrical triangle is often referred to as a coil, usually forms during a trend as a continuation pattern.

The symmetrical triangle contains at least two lower highs and two higher lows.

When the lines are drawn and connected up the symmetrical triangle takes shape and comes to a point.

Generally, the longer the pattern takes to form the more valid it is.

Why do they form?

Symmetrical triangles can be seen as areas of indecision by the participants.

Typically, the forces of supply and demand at that moment are considered in balance, with neither the bulls nor bears being able to take control.

Attempts to push higher are met by selling, while dips are seen as buying opportunities.

Each new lower top and higher bottom becomes narrower than the last one.

This gives the triangle its shape of a sideways coil.

Eventually, indecision about market is met with a new strong move as prices break either up, or down from the triangle.

Research has shown that symmetrical triangles normally resolve themselves in the direction of the major trend and are seen as continuation pattern.

Watching the break

You should not just trade symmetrical triangles without using some filters.

Ones to look for are the stochastic momentum that measures short term price strength.

It’s the most effective timing indicator there is and is discussed fully in other articles we have written.

The best signal is the stochastic turning bullish or bearish by a cross of the lines in the direction of the break with bullish or bearish divergence. In all case lines should point up for a break to the upside or down for a bearish break.

You should also look for the RSI to strengthen (on a break to the upside) or weaken (on a break to the downside)

There is normally a pick up in trading volume once prices start to break.

A great formation to spot explosive moves

The symmetrical triangle is a great formation and breaks can be dramatic.

To weed out “false breaks” make sure you use some filters (like the ones discussed above) to decide whether to take the trade or not.

Of all the continuation patterns we find this one the most effective and reliable and it can offer some great high odds profitable trades once the break occurs.

Is Multitasking Hurting You?

Have you ever been working on your computer either at work or home? At the same time you are
checking email, talking on the phone, and responding to a fax? Have you ever been talking on
the phone, watching television, and eating supper at the same time? How many times do you
switch from task to task during the day? How about during the year? Are you getting the
results that you want from that task? Is multitasking hurting you? Or is multitasking
helping you?

We get flooded everyday through the media saying either at work or home to double, triple,
quadruple the number of tasks we perform at one time. We see advertisements on T.V.,
magazines, and billboards with people talking on the phone and doing something else at the
same time. It is engrained in our heads to do two tasks at once today. We see it with
business people, stay at home moms, workaholics, and even high school students.
Multitasking can actually be hurting you. You probably have heard this numerous times. You
focus on one thing at a time and you get the best results. However, do you practice this?

Why is multitasking hurting you?

1. Your brain becomes overloaded. Therefore you work less efficiently. You work less
productive. People today actually work about 50 percent of their capacity.

2. It also increases stress and anxiety levels. Multitasking over and over month after
month, year after year, will take a toll on your health. It can be very harmful. It can lead
to multiple health issues. Is it worth to have a heart attack?

3. You lose focus and concentration. This in return leads to less productivity and
efficiency. It is a downward spiral. You lose your pace. When you lose focus and
concentration you lose results. You don’t get the best results with that task.

Multitasking is like an addiction. Start focusing on one task at a time. If that challenges
you take an activity you like to do and focus on that. Take small steps each day. For
instance take 10 minutes the first day, 15 minutes the second day, and so on and focus on
one task at a time. Just taking small steps you will gain more focus, concentration, and
results on what task you are doing at that time. Focusing on one task at a time will make a
huge impact in your personal and business life.

The Beloved Apostrophe

There are only 3 main uses for the apostrophe, yet using the apostrophe properly is a confusing task. This article describes the proper uses and improper uses, to help people improve their writing.

The beloved apostrophe is intended to do three main things: to show possession, to show omission, and to make plurals in rare, special cases.

Apostrophe’s purpose number one: apostrophes are excellent indicators of possession. There is an example of this at the beginning of this sentence. If I want to say I own the shoes, while my husband pays the bill, I would call them Angela’s shoes and Joe’s Manolo Blahnik bill.

In most cases, the apostrophe is placed right after the name of the person, place, or thing (a.k.a. noun) that owns it, and before the “s” that shows possession. Because the English language can describe various types of possession in glorious profusion, here are some helpful tips for common possession scenarios:

Your word already ends in “s”. Don’t add another ’s’! Just let the apostrophe hang out there at the end of the word. For example: the horses’ bridles, a party at the Edwards’.

Two nouns own one thing. Give the apostrophe to the last noun. For example: Joe and Angela’s herb garden.

Two nouns own two things. Give each noun an apostrophe. For example: Jenny’s and Jessie’s dresses.

You use a pronoun that owns something. Please, don’t add an apostrophe. Just leave it alone. For example: We gave the cat its shots; the idea was yours.

Apostrophe’s second use: apostrophes show where letters have been removed in a word or words. This is the easiest part to remember - if you’ve lost letters, put an apostrophe where the letters should have been! For example: Cannot becomes can’t; Four of the clock becomes four o’clock; 2007 becomes ‘07.

Apostrophe’s third use: in some rare, very special cases, the apostrophe can show a plural. Use an apostrophe if you are talking about plurals of numbers or letters. For example: 1990’s; Ph.D.’s.

You can also add an apostrophe if you’re using words as words, where leaving out an apostrophe would cause confusion. For example: Rules are a list of do’s and don’ts (if there was no apostrophe after “do’s”, people might confuse it with the disk operating system acronym DOS).

Other apostrophe uses: apostrophes can also be used as a symbol for measurement in feet. Also, the apostrophe can be used to indicate a quote inside a quote. For example: She said, “The pastor told me, ‘Jesus wasn’t white’, and I was surprised!”

Understanding the proper rules for using the apostrophe will add a level of professionalism to your communications. Proper punctuation is a must for all writers. Still confused? Pearl Writing Services is a freelance writing business that can polish your writing and get your communications noticed!

Psychologists’ Secrets to Bedtime Battles

It is remarkably exhausting to end your day with an unending battle with your kids over going them to bed, getting them to stay in bed, or even keeping them out of your room. For some parents, the bedtime battle is just an extension of other battles that have occurred throughout the day. Yet for other families, the rest of the day is relatively normal and healthy, and it is only at bedtime that parents begin to cringe at the thought of going through another screaming match over bedtime.

In this article, I will reveal three of my seven key secrets that I use to help parents get out of this bedtime battle mess. As a parenting coach and licensed psychologist, I have worked with thousands of families. I have seen every permutation of bedtime battle, and these three key ideas will get you headed in the right direction.

Secret #1. You don’t make bedtimes happen. Your children learn to get to bed on time.

Any time you keep forcing something happen with your kids, you will find yourself in a losing situation…over the long term. In other words, if you have to force something to happen, you can win the battle today. That is likely true. But tomorrow comes with another battle, and it only gets worse over time.

So this means…you can’t force your kids to go to sleep. You can’t force them to go to bed. The more you try to force it, the more it escalates out of control.

But don’t give up! This doesn’t mean that you can’t get them to bed on time. You can have peaceful bedtimes with everyone in bed on time.

It just means that you need to change your way of parenting around bedtimes. Instead of thinking about controlling the situation so that it happens “now,” you set up the evenings to be opportunities for learning. Children learn quickly, and it usually takes 3-7 days before things are running smoothly.

Your children must learn what choices are going to be in their interest…. not in mom or dads’ interest. They’re not going to necessarily go to bed because you want them to. That’s not in their interest. You have to set up the conditions so that they learn to go to bed because… “It’s in their interest.” Here’s how:

Secret #2: Establish a consistent routine with clear consequences.

Write down the evening routine, and do so in a way that gives you some leverage. In other words, after dinner, the kids need to help clear the table, take a bath, put on their pj’s, and make sure that their bag is packed and at the door. All of this happens before the TV comes on or before you read a book or before there’s any playtime.

Don’t nag, or yell, or prod or remind the kids. Instead, focus on control and the consequences to their choices….rather than trying to control the kids. Allow them to futz around and waste all the time they want. Just make sure that they don’t get access to any of the goodies that they really enjoy, such as their toys, or the TV, or time from Mom or Dad.

The magic in this arrangement is that the structure and routine allow you to retain leverage over the things that you want them to do before bedtime. In other words, they have to take care of all their preparations, before they get to play. This puts you back in charge. You no longer need nag, remind, push, or yell to get them going. Just patiently wait for them to discover that’s it in their interest to take care of their work.

Secret #3: Teach them it’s bedtime by shutting down their world.

Rather than engaging in prolonged requests to cut off the TV, or to put away their toys, or to cut off their computer, take control of the things that they care about….rather than trying to control the kids. Shut down their world!

Go in and cut off the TV and walk out with the cable box. Cut off the computer and walk away with the keyboard. Walk them out of the toy room and lock the door.

The tantrum or upset that unfolds is not your concern. Allow them to have those moments, and don’t worry if they’re up for an extra hour for a few nights. They will learn from this, if you stick to your guns.

Taking A Peek Into Her Inner World - What Does A Woman Feel About Dating

There are different views on dating for men and women. Many of them think of their perfect partner as something completely different from what someone else would. This is not unusual because all people are different. There are no two people that think exactly the same and this is true with relationships as well.

There have been many studies done to try and figure out what a woman wants in a man and the other way around. This is not exact science and there are many things to consider when thinking about it. It really boils down to the person and what they want to have in a relationship with a partner. Do they want to have a serious relationship that will turn into marriage down the road? Is this just a fling that will fade after a while? These are all things that people will ask themselves when they are in a relationship of any kind.

Many women think they know what they want and instead they go after something completely different. This is not uncommon and it is usually the way that a woman truly figures out what they want and need in a man. Every man has a different personality and there are certain women that only want a certain “quality” of man.

1) What they want for their love life

Women want different things when it comes to their love life and the man of their dreams. It is no lie that every woman wants to have a sensitive man that will fulfill all of her needs both physically and emotionally as well.

However, it is also true that a great sex life is one of the most important keys to a great relationship. There are some women that have broken it off with a man because of the sex and either lack of it or for lack of satisfaction.

Most women think of their man in many different ways when it comes to the lover personality that they have. Many women want their guy to have a bad boy sense about him. This will excite the woman and get their love life off to a heated start. Adventure is a great factor to have in any relationship for sex and romance. He should be a seducer but not slimy. Dirty talk is fine to a point but there is no need to be vulgar. Most women want someone to move them both physically and emotionally and add some energy and even some complexity to the relationship.

2) What women want in dating?

Most women want to have the perfect date. This can include anything from an energetic night out on the town to a romantic dinner for two at home. Most importantly woman want to be treated with respect and dignity.

No woman or man for that matter wants to be treated like a possession. They may want to be pampered and spoiled a little but they do not want to be treated like a child or made to feel incompetent. This is a very important thing to many women and will not want the guy to do too much for them and at the same time they will want him to show courtesy and use their gentleman skills. They just want to have a regular guy that will love them for who they are and not want anything buy love in return.

There are some women that just want to find a great guy that will treat her good and spend the rest of her life with him, while there are others that will go the distance to find someone that is successful and provides them with a good life. They are going to want the passion and the great kisses as well as guy that will go to the ends of the earth for them no matter what they ask.

3) What a woman should say on a date

Many times a woman will feel a little shy or embarrassed on a first date. They will not know what to say or how to act with a guy. When this is the case, they may seem a little stuck up or not interested. It is important to make sure that you are acting like yourself and let your true personality shine through.

Never act fake on a date. You do not want to be someone that you are not. Make sure that you ask the questions that you want to know so that you are getting to know the guy better. This will help you understand if you want to continue the relationship or if you are wasting your time. Do not be afraid to let yourself go and find out what you came there to do.

You should never get too attached in the first few dates. You will want to make sure that you are not letting your guard down to quickly. You are not expected to fall in love over night and you do not want to scare the guy off with those three little words that make most men run away screaming, I LOVE YOU! These are the words that can end a relationship before it even begins.

4) Keep your independence

It is important to stay true to yourself and keep your self-regard. You will want to make sure that you are having fun but do not get too close to the point that you are letting your emotions take over your brain. You need to stay focused and remember what you want and go after it. Be true to yourself and make sure that you are keeping your independence and your self-respect.

Finding a man should not mean sacrificing your independence your own life dreams and goals. Remember to have fun and keep an open mind and you will find the perfect man to spend the rest of your days with.

Your Strategic Thinking Coach’s List of Ten Key Components of Effective Strategic Alliances

Let me start by defining strategic alliance. A strategic alliance is a partnership, a collaborative agreement and/or a relationship between two or more companies or organizations formed to pursue a set of agreed upon goals while remaining independent companies or organizations. Strategic alliances exist in a variety of shapes and sizes and include a wide range of scopes of cooperation levels. Strategic alliances usually are most effective when the entities involved have complementary strengths.

What makes a strategic alliance effective? What are the key components of effective strategic alliances? Your Strategic Thinking Coach researched this and came up with ten (10) key components of effective strategic alliances. Here is my list of ten (10) key components of an effective strategic alliance.

1.-A shared vision. The strategic alliance must include strategic thinkers that have developed a shared vision for the strategic alliance, which is larger than each of their individual company visions.

2.-Complete trust in one another and an agreement of why they need each other as a strategic alliance partner.

3.-Mutual respect for what each partner brings to the strategic alliance.

4.-Faith in the belief that the synergy of the strategic alliance will create something bigger and better by working together than by working separately.

5.-Accountability through regular reporting of progress and tracking of the agreed upon goals and objectives.

6. -Agreement of expectations, timelines, resources, issues of performance, confidentiality, cost sharing, etc. In other words, establish a complete understanding of ground rules for the strategic alliance and put that understanding in writing.

7.-Open and continuous communications among all team members of the strategic alliance.

8.-Established goals and objectives that are measurable.

9.-Commitment to the goals and objectives and to all the team members in the strategic alliance.

10.-Added value to each strategic alliance partner’s ability to serve its clients in the marketplace.

The most effective strategic alliances will include all the above components. The power of an effective strategic alliance exceeds the sum of the power of the individual companies or organizations added together when they act outside of a strategic alliance. If you are interested in learning more about these strategic alliance components and how to incorporate these key components to build effective strategic alliances with your company or organization, please contact Glenn Ebersole through his website below.

Get Connected

With our charisma we tune in on our surrounding which as a result reflects our self-image, like a kind of echo from our deepest, whether or not expressed convictions.
In our subconscious are many convictions of which we don’t know their existence.

Energetically coincidences do not exist. What we call “a coincidence” finds its connection between the relation of the internal cause and the external effect.

Our perception of our environment is the result of a co-creation.
It means we create our own reality in cooperation with all human beings around us.
There is no occasion in our life, even of how little importance, that stands on its own apart from reality.

The Source within us is very creative in giving shape to every mental and emotional creation.
The external world runs latterly synchronic with our internal world.
We don’t live in an objective world which exist apart from us.
We are living in a “world of symbols”, in which every experience with our inner being is related, in which every emotional thought presents itself at us in the concept of time and space.
Every human being is helping us with this, although on an unconscious manner.

In every situation a deeper symbolic meaning is hidden.
All that is happening to us, does not happen without a meaning, but is servicing for more important purpose, that is to come to the recognition of the meaning that every human being is the creator of its own experience of life.

If we finally fully realize this, the pieces of the puzzle of life will fall in place.

We know then, that brutal tough luck does not exist and every moment of now which comes to us in our life is meant to convince us that we dispose of a tremendous inner power.

Look at the people around us;

Wavering or uncertain persons attract meddling people who like to control their lives.
Their guilty conscience and self-condemnation tune in on negative critics from other people as well as on situations where they will be denied from the best things in life.
Their fear to say “No” to other people, gives the others the possibility to take possession of their lives.
Their conviction that they are treated unfair by other people, does create situations in which they are further pushed into a corner.
The feeling that they do not count, invites others to ignore them and to treat them as not interesting and of no value.
Their feelings of hate and resentment create painful confrontations or physical defects, which need curing or healing.
In other words, of what you are convinced from inside, will find its confirmation in the direct perception of the environment
In this way the happenings of tomorrow “designed” are with the convictions of today.

The creating soul which we are, will never see itself as a victim, however as volunteer for certain experiences in which are concealed possibilities to grow and to evaluate.
Which is in the position of our EGO an impossible situation to accept.

Don’t we want to be happy?

And do we dare to look at our unconscious convictions and victim feelings which are trying to sabotage our happiness?

All what we deliberately want does not cause us so much problems, however all what we believe and that society wants us to believe, that is where lies the source of all our trouble.

What we believe is what we radiate automatically.

At what value we place ourselves is the way we will be treated by the world.
If we treat ourselves with love, not only mentally but also instinctively, then will we create a life in harmony and fulfilment.

Internal, as external, first seeing than believing, that is the point of view of a wise person.

There is one important aspect, that we should not forget.
We are spiritual beings that express themselves in physical experience.
We create our own earthly dream, our own conscious of reality.
However, as the painter is always more than the painting, we as the creator or designer are always more then the creation or the design.

So let’s not link our intentions to our creations and the circumstances in which we got mixed up in, otherwise we might loose ourselves in a victim situation within our own creation and forget that there exists a favourable Force, which is always with us wherever we go or wherever we are.

If we start nourishing our deepest confidence in this Force, automatically our thoughts and feelings will be constructive and positive.
In the meantime will we notice the increase of our energy and we feel good and more at ease.

After all, are we not one with its Higher Self and thus one with the Power of All?

Connected we feel ourselves strong and imperturbable, disconnected we are vulnerable and impressionable.

Connected we will be able to experience guidance in everything we like to realize, form the smallest to the biggest project.

Your PR Doctor’s Tips for Getting Media Attention on Radio

One of your “PR Doctor’s” favorite public relations elements in an integrated marketing communications plan is talk radio. Talk radio provides opportunities for profit and non-profit organizations to gain extended exposure in an interview format. And there are many opportunities that exist in communities around the United States to capitalize on this media offering. And many times these radio stations are very eager to find new people to interview about new and interesting subjects.

Many radio stations have public affairs programs that are prerecorded and then aired on weekend mornings, particularly Sunday. These programs provide an opportunity for you to have your spokesperson and your message in an uninterrupted format or in discussion with others who have similar causes, interests or issues.

So, let’s see what type of advice your PR Doctor has for you to gain media attention on radio. Here are 10 tips for getting your company or organization’s message on radio.

1.-Research the talk radio stations and formats in the geographic area where you want to have your message heard.
Make sure you obtain the contact information for the person responsible for booking interviews.

2. -Summarize your findings on a spreadsheet with the radio station contact information.

3. -Select the radio stations you have targeted from your research and listen to those stations to help determine if your message will fit their format and their subject areas.

4. -Make it easy for the radio station to fit your information into their format and the easier it will be to get booked on the talk radio show.

5.-Find out what issue or cause a producer or an “on-air” personality may have a passion for and then connect with that producer or “on-air” personality to promote your company or your cause that matches theirs.

6. -Prepare your information in a compelling way and then call, email or FAX the contact person you want to approach. Make sure you are prepared to present your “case” for being a guest on the radio show when you reach the contact person.

7. -After you have been booked for a radio interview, prepare and rehearse for the interview.**

8.-Publicize the date, time and station of your radio interview to your stakeholders and targeted audiences.

9.-After the radio interview airs, publicize the coverage back to your stakeholders and selected target audiences because the radio exposure does provide 3rd party credibility.

10.-Send a personal thank you to the interviewer and your contact at the radio station.
