Product Promotion Turns Prospects Into Customers

Unlike advertising and public relations which create publicity and awareness, product promotion delivers a call to action. Typically, the call to action is for the customer to buy now; often there is an incentive offered to encourage the customer to do so.

The goal of product promotion is get the product in front of the customer or channel of distribution. While customer knows the product promotion is overtly sponsored by the offering firm, the call to action can be compelling. Or, at least that is what the sponsoring firm hopes.

Here are some common product promotion techniques:

- Give it away- If the lifetime value of the customer purchases is greater than the cost of the giveaway, then it can make economic sense to give the product away. For example, in the pharmaceutical industry free drugs samples are given to physicians to dispense to patients to demonstrate their benefits. If successful, the patient may be prescribed the drugs.
- Trial- Similar to giving it away, a trial gives the customer a chance to use the product for a short duration of time. If satisfied the customer can keep the product and continue usage. A good example would be trial software; this a common approach for anti-virus software makers.
- Event marketing- Everybody loves a party. Event marketing uses the power of the crowd to entice people to buy now. This could be a sidewalk sale in the retail store or a grand opening for a business.
- Discounting- Offering a special price which is only available for a limited time is a time proven product promotion technique. This discount is frequently offered via a coupon. Delay and the price will go up (i.e. you snooze, you lose).
- Bundling- This means offering a second complimentary product as a part of package. Buy the PC and the printer is free. Or, it could be two for the price of one.
- Contests- Try your luck and you might be a winner. Another tried and true method to get the customer to take action. This is a commonly used by the retail giants.
- White paper- The technology crowd loves the soft sell of the third party authored white paper which tells all about their product versus the competition. Everybody knows that this research is bought and paid for, but it works.
- Chotchkas- Yiddish for a small gift, these branded items demand attention and are the gold standard of trade shows. The best giveaways are evergreen and remain on the customer’s desk or shelf as memorabilia of past shows.

Product promotion works because customers need a reason to buy now. It is up to you give them that reason.

Why Your Garage Needs LED Lighting

You need to have good garage lighting if you plan to use it as your workshop as well as a storage area for your vehicle. The best lighting for garages is known as LED (light emitting diodes) because it has many advantages over normal light bulbs. They do not require as much current so they will last longer and will not need to be replaced very often. They do not generate heat and you can get them in a variety of colors. The only thing is that they cannot be used in areas where you need white light and they are little bit more complicated to wire.

LED lighting has to be connected in the proper manner in order to get them to work. You can’t connect them across a battery because there would be too much current flowing through and this would damage the battery. In order to install LED lighting you need to know the forward current and forward voltage. The forward current is the amount of current that this lighting needs to operate and the forward voltage is the voltage that it needs across it for the amount of forward current. To get longer life from the LED, you should stick to the average forward current, which is usually 20mA while an ordinary light bulb could use 200mA.

A resister helps to control the current and voltage, but sometimes you may not be able to find a resistor for the value you need. These resisters come in preferred values, so you should choose the one nearest to the calculations you come up with for the current and voltage. You can connect several LEDs in either a series or parallel circuit. With a series connection, you only have to buy one resistor because the same current will flow through each LED. You need to know that if one LED should fail, the whole series will go out. With a parallel connection, each device has its own resistor and works independently of each other.

LEDs have varying degrees of brightness and this is usually designated by terms such as super, hyper or ultra-bright. The amount of brightness you need also determines the price you pay because the really bright LEDs are more expensive. They usually come in the standard shape of a round cylinder, but you can get other shapes as well. As with the brightness, you will have to pay more money for unusual shapes.

Smart Ways to Recycle Documents

Document destruction has become mandatory by law, in order to prevent the misuse of vital information by unscrupulous individuals. There are a number of Federal and State Enactments such as the FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act) and HIPPA (American Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). They mandate the destruction of documents in a proper manner to prevent identity theft. Documents falling under this category include:

–Blank Checks
–Tax Records
–Payroll Records
–Medical Records
–Personnel Records
–Bank Statements
–Financial Statements
–Legal Documents
–Mailing Lists
–Office Correspondence
–Photocopies
–Invoices

The list is unending. The best way to destroy documents is by shredding them. When confidential papers are simply thrown into the trashcan, visitors, maintenance staff and other employees can easily access them. This is a grave security risk.

In small businesses or homes where the wastepaper output is limited, this can be taken care of by installing shredding machines for in-house shredding. But, in the case of big businesses and commercial establishments, in-house shredding is a practical impossibility. This is due to the large quantity of paper to be shredded. In such businesses, the services of professional shredding service providers are very useful. Once contracted, these professional companies come at a prescheduled time in special trucks to conduct the shredding onsite. In the case of offsite shredding, they carry it to the company warehouse and documents are destroyed there. In both cases, the shredded material is later sent for recycling.

Recycling includes pulping the shredded material, which is then used to make recycled paper products. The recycling process is comprised of different stages:

1.-First, the discarded paper is converted into ‘re-suspension’ or pulp slurry in clean water, to separate the component fibers.
2.-The slurry is then treated chemically to remove non-fibrous contaminants and is also given a detergent washing.
3.-In the case of white paper, there is a bleach treatment involved.
4.-The fresh recycled paper is made with a mixture of the pulp and some amount of virgin fiber.
5.-In the process, some amount of unusable material referred to as ’sludge’ is left behind. This is mainly weak fiber and old ink and is either used -by farmers as -fertilizer, buried in a landfill or burned in paper mill furnaces to generate energy.

The pulp mixture that is leftover is then diluted with more fresh water. This process creates what is often referred to as a slurry, and then is loaded into a paper machine. Inside the machine the slurry is filtered and compressed to remove all of the water. Now the material is ready to be sent through steam heated drums that ultimately form paper sheets.

For an effective recycling program, employees of any company consuming large amounts of paper should first be educated about the available waste paper recycling methods. Then, through interactive sessions, they need to be informed about the benefits of recycling and the ways in which they can positively contribute to the program. This can be as simple as monitoring the usage of paper and segregating white paper from colored paper. They can be stored in separately labeled trashcans.

Every time waste paper is recycled, there is conservation of valuable energy, resource conservation and reduction in waste disposal costs.

Make Money on eBay - Purchasing Items for Resale

Success in the eBay marketplace includes many different components. It involves identifying the right market niche and the right products to sell within that niche. It also involves taking the many critical steps that are involved in purchasing products for resale on eBay. Only then will you be in a position to make money on eBay.

Are you looking at making purchases from wholesale distributors, closeout and liquidation companies? If so there are four key steps involved in the process. Every seller needs to invest the right amount of time and effort to help insure that they have located reliable suppliers who sell quality products. Taking shortcuts can really impact a seller’s ability to make money on eBay with the products that they purchase.

STEP 1: Identify the right products. Don’t shortcut the research that you do to verify there is a market for the products you wish to sell.
STEP 2: Locate and check references on suppliers who provide the right products. Invest the time to really thoroughly check out prospective buyers.
STEP 3: Making a profit. Understand the true costs associated with your business. Know where you are spending and look for ways to intelligently reduce costs.
STEP 4: Test before you make a big investment in inventory. Verify that you have a winning product in a solid market niche. Verify that sales will generate a profit after all costs and expenses are paid.

Using A Credit Score Calculator

If you want to buy a house and need to take out a bank loan, you will have to know your credit score to be able to accurately calculate how mush you will qualify for. You can find many credit score calculators online that will give you your score depending on certain aspects of information that you provide.

The credit score is made up of certain late payments, how good you are with payments, how many other credit cards and loans you have, and the rate of interest that your bank is charging you.

If you want to improve your credit score so that you can qualify for a better loan, you can use the credit score calculator on any website to work out what the score is. The score can range from 300 upward to around 850 so you can then know if you should pay off a few debts first, and ask your bank for a better interest rate, so that your score can improve.

The credit score calculator can also help you to save money by showing you how to keep your finances in order. The higher your credit score is, the better the interest rates that you will be offered by your bank on a mortgage.

Most people have a credit score between 600 and 800 and a credit score calculator that gives you a score of higher than 720 will secure you a good interest rate with any bank. There are different scoring methods that are used by the three main credit scoring agencies.

Equifax uses the BEACON method, Experian uses the Fair Isaac Risk Model, and TransUnion uses the EMPIRICA method, but these are all variations of the FICO method which is the pioneer in the credit scoring sector.

A credit score calculator is found for all of the methods so that you can work out which one will give you a better credit score, although banks will take all of the credit scores into account before deciding on what type of interest rate and loan that they give you.

Credit Score Calculators Are Just An Estimate

The credit score calculator must not be taken as exact, as it is just a guide as to what your credit score will be. The banks will do a much more detailed analysis of your credit details to establish your credit score.

The credit score calculator can be used in conjunction with your bank’s mortgage lending calculator so that you can work out what your payment will be every month as well as how much the entire loan will be. Once you have improved your credit score, you can try the calculators again until you are happy with the loan that you will get.

So, if you want to get your dream house, be sure to check your credit score with all of the different credit score calculators and then approach your bank when you have improved your credit score to the level so that you can get the best interest rates possible.

Why Are You Still Buying MLM Leads?

Well, I can probably answer that pretty easily. Most people think that generating your own leads not only costs more, but is also much more difficult. Sure in the beginning I agree, buying leads is much easier than generating your own.

As you become more educated on the topic, things start to become easier and much more profitable.
However, I would never agree with the cost issue. Consider this, when I used to buy leads I would spend about 250 dollars a month.

Now these leads were targeted MLM leads right? Wrong, almost every single lead you can buy are generic leads. What does that really mean? Well it’s simple, these are people that have showed interest in making money online.

They may have NO idea what the heck network marketing & MLMs even are! So are you going to try and convince these people how awesome your opportunity is and why they should give you money? I say GOOD LUCK!

When you buy leads you’re not only giving away your money but also your most valuable asset, TIME! The horrible thing about cold calling leads is that your time will pretty much be wasted. Most people you talk to on a generic lead list will tell you no.

So what am I getting at? Get educated on how to generate your own. Not only will you save time, but you can also make money on every lead you generate. Don’t believe me?

Magnetic Sponsoring can teach you how to do just that. Generate leads while making money off those leads even if they say NO to your opportunity. When you learn this skill, your life and business will be extremely fun I guarantee it.

Autobiographical Memory

Autobiographical memory is the area of memory where people store information about themselves. There are several domains included in autobiographical memory. Self-description is the domain that stores information about a person’s sense of identity. In this domain, for example, facts such as a person’s favorite flavor of ice cream, what their political or moral viewpoint is and whether or not they like red wine are elements of self-description. Emotional memory is the domain that not only contains a person’s memories of an emotional experience but also helps them to control their moods. If a person broods over a particularly bad memory or a memory which triggers a negative feeling or emotion, he or she can change this mood by recalling a contrasting emotion, thinking of a memory which brought them joy or happiness instead.

The domain of event memory makes up the largest part of a person’s autobiographical memory. Three separate but connected domains make up this part of memory. Specific events in a person’s experience of the world, general events about a wide range of actions involved in an event such as going to the doctor or the grocery store and a preserved summary of a person’s life. This summary enables a person to answer questions about his or her life such as ‘Where did you grow up?’ and ‘Where did you go on vacation last year?’.

The process of event memory is usually begun at the general-event level, the information the person is seeking to know is usually at the specific-event level. For example, if a person is attempting to retrieve the memory of having stayed at The Plaza Hotel, the starting point for accessing this memory is most likely the general event ’staying at hotels’. Through time, specific events are consolidated into a general event. For example, all the occasions where a person has visited family for the holidays become one generic ’script’ which incorporates all the vital experiences and actions that are representative of the going-home-to-visit-the-family-at-holidays event. Once the specific event is included in this general event script, only those particular events where something unusual/compelling/entertaining occurred will distinguish it specifically. The force of these generic scripts in the memory often triggers people to misremember details of a specific event, simply because they are representative of the event as a whole.

If a person has not yet experienced an event and does not have an existing script for the experience, the event is more likely to be remembered. The memory for an event will be stronger for experiences where the event cannot fit into a mold of what the person’s preexisting expectations are of what will happen. A person’s typically routine event can cause a lack of memory function due to the fact that these events are routine or already scripted. For example, if a person always puts their keys on the hallway table when they arrive home, the person will expect the keys to be there. If they have broken that pattern because of an unexpected circumstance, such as answering the telephone, the person might not remember they left their keys near the phone instead of the hallway table since the script in their memory tells them the put the keys on the table, as per the script.

In order for our brains to remember a specific event, a unique element helps a person recall that event as distinguished from a similar event. The nature of the event, who was there (the people involved), where it occurred (the location) are particular pieces of information that can more readily recall the memory.

“Martha Ann’s Quilt for Queen Victoria” is a terrific picture book for kids. The story is based on the true story of Martha Ann Ricks. I loved reading about how her Martha Ann’s father saved money in a red box. He was able to get his family out of slavery. My favorite part of the story was when she taught kids at the local mission where her husband Sion worked.

It was exciting when she got to meet Queen Victoria because of her beautiful big quilt.

The pictures in this book are great. The illustrator Lee Edward Fodi does a great job in showing what it was like in the 1800’s from the fashions to the hairstyles. More books should be written based on true stories like this one.

Note from Brianne’s mom: Brianne loved this book. She thinks the kids at her school will love this story as much as she did.

“Martha Ann’s Quilt for Queen Victoria” is an absolutely exquisite book, written and designed with the author’s entire heart. A touching story of a young girl’s life from slavery to freedom and into old age, you will experience a lifetime of insight to the world and how it works. A touch of history is shared, along with a story of courage, survival and love of life itself.

Illustrated with such delightful art work and beautifully compiled, this book is a true must have in any library, personal or school. I cannot imagine any more perfect gift to your child’s school library, as not only does this book illustrate the hardships of the lives of slaves, but the beautiful way one young lady managed to survive and even learn from her hardships.

As Martha Ann grows up she is taught the art of sewing by her mother. Taking this art to a perfect art form in itself, she creates a quilt for a woman who lives a life so very different from hers, yet that she feels she has a connection with simply because the Queen has kept her and her family safe from being brought back to slavery. As you see the young girl develop into a woman, having her own family and creating her own life and life’s struggles, you realize the impact one’s parents have on a child not just as they grow up but throughout their life.

Something as simple as a small, red box can take on new meaning when it portrays your ability to live a dream, whether that dream is freedom or meeting someone dear to your heart.

“Martha Ann’s Quilt for Queen Victoria” is truly a wonderful and touching story that will remain embedded in your heart for years to come.

How Do I Cut Down My Electric Cars Charging Time?

In recent years, there has been an increase in the amount of electric cars being sold in the US and abroad that coincide with a movement against global warming. With this new trend come new gadgets and gizmos that will make driving one of these fuel efficient cars more enjoyable and practical. One of the most important aspects of the electric car that has been improved upon is the method and the time it takes to charge an electric car.

One technology for charging electric car batteries is known as plug in technology. This allows you to recharge the battery of your car from a socket within your house. A cell is removed from the battery of the car, recharged in a home, and then replaced fully charged.

Also, the use of nickel metal hydride for batteries has also been successful in lowering car recharge times. This type of battery will last for approximately 300 miles before needing a recharge compared to previous versions that lasted for 150 and died. In addition, these batteries last about 5 times longer than other batteries, up to 10 years. Finally, you will only need to charge this battery for 20 minutes to ensure full power if you could find a power supply that can send a current that powerful into it. For ordinary users, 8 hours will suffice leaving an entire day of vehicle enjoyment.

Cutting the charge time of batteries in electric cars will definitely increase demand for the product. In the future, when cars are able to charge in a matter of minutes, the sale of electric cars will increase. Until then, anyone who cares for the env
