How to Work at Home Selling on eBay

It’s impossible to know exactly how many full time sellers there are on eBay, but one estimation was that 75,000 people in the U.S. alone make their living on eBay. And of those that don’t make a living there, there are thousands and thousands more that contribute half their household’s income or bring in a part-time income. So how do they do it?

eBay can be a tough road. There are a few shortcuts, but none make it truly easy. It’s still a matter of 1. finding items to sell 2. getting those items listed 3. making sales 4. getting the items shipped and 5. creating a good seller-customer relationship that will bring that customer back again and again.

The biggest problem people have is finding items to sell. There are a lot of people out there selling “wholesale” or “dropshipping” lists to those wanting to sell. The problem with these is that the eBay market is absolutely glutted with these items. You can no longer buy a dropshipping list, throw up some listings, collect the money, and have a company send the items out. Every company that dropships has been circulating on a hundred lists for years, and all of the items are offered for sale for the cheapest possible price- and sometimes even at a price that loses the seller money in a misguided attempt at gaining feedback. There is no money to be made by doing this, except by those selling these lists.

Finding items takes time and effort. Getting items listed, however, isn’t difficult. All of the bells and whistles you’ve probably seen on so many auctions are completely unnecessary. A simple listing is best- tell what the item is and why people should buy it. Anything more is a waste of their buyer’s time.

Sales come from well listed items using the right keywords. And once those sales are made, the items should be shipped out in a timely manner and with adequate protection to guide it’s journey through the mail. But after the sale has been made, there are more opportunities for you to keep your customers. eBay relies heavily on it’s give and take system of feedback, favorite seller lists and newsletters. Learn how to use these to your advantage and you’ll have customers coming back again and again.

Removal of 5 Negatives, Throw out Anger, Ego, Worry, Bribe and Greed

Anger eats up proper thinking….

Ego eats up the mind….

Worry eats up the age…..

Bribe eats up justice…..

Greed eats up conscience……

Indeed it is my privilege to try to explain the above meanings in terms of emotional and mental health. How are we to tame our raw emotions of life? Our attitude towards those 5 negatives will lead to unseen stress., a silent killer of the 21st Century.

ANGER eats up proper thinking……….

Do not be angry, anger is just short outbursts that will drain every bit of our inner strength and will leave our discrimination completely blinded by the release of its fury. Stay calm, regain every bit of the self control and only then, react and respond. We are not to make haste, for quick, unanalyzed steps which will one day make us fall in the pits of worries. Know that there is nothing that cannot wait.

Win the strength of life, capture the harsh words that seem to be at the tip of the sharp tongue. Time will hold the hands of patience and wait with the hope that time will bring you this new friend called patience. Thus patience will relieve you from immediate action and long term anxiety.

Try to recall some angry expressions and remarks and repeat them in your words and mind. You will soon be mad with anger just from the act of remembering! You are mad due to just recalling some ugly memories which should long gone down the drain. If you are a christian, do you remember the bible guidance that one should forget one and each other’s fault before the sun sets? To err is humane, to forgive divine, to forget fine!!

So, it is advisable that we must not take too serious of all those remarks and expressions which meant nothing! You will be trapped by your own negative reminding of unintended revengeful meaningless phrases that all angry men and women would! Well. how to uninstall these negative phrases or memories? Listen to me……… I have a great idea and I have been practising it for quite a long time.

Get your closest friend or spouse or children near you, Lie down, close your eyes, ask them to use purposeful strokes of their hands, to comfort, starting from the chest down to the legs. Repeat the action with our close friend or children telling us to relax……..relax……. relax……….. out goes all those misfortunes and sad things…and let them be gone! Continuous strokes and positive affirmations till you feel at ease and not feeling anymore anger or hate. At the same time, breathe in deep and slow, exhaling the negatives… Peace and love will soon be restored and one will feel so much better! This is how to uninstall negatives….. Like we did to the young babies, cooing them and telling them not to fear. If there is no one to help, pray and imagine God’s or Mary’s hands soothing and strengthening you. It works miracles. Continue for at least 15 minutes.

EGO eats up the mind too.

Leave your ego outside at the shoe racks as one enters the house.. Ego is mean, selfish, destructive, demanding and leads to pride and unreasonable and unlogistic actions. It is opposite of confidence. There is too much of these….’I’ in the making. This is my effort, this is my money, this is my house, this is my success, this is my car… mine..mine… and soon one will be drowned with these I, my or mine…..

When one is too attached to a thing or a person, he or she attracts more danger than he could think of.. To be on the safe side, one should revise and ponder twice what we say or think when coming to possessions or properties. A smart guy will learn how to put words and deeds in a proper way that demands our respect and salutation. Ego will be self-destructive and self-degrading at the end of the day. If you want a sound mind, uninstall ego from your mind. Be selfless! can you? Only then you will be safe.

WORRY eats up the age

Worrying will make one feels and looks old. The constant frowns and worries written or not written on one’s face will add to fine lines and wrinkles to our look. Worrying is never letting go of anxieties and uncertainties. Worries will affect our body system and also our flow of inhaling and exhaling during breathing.

Do not imprison yourself, anymore. Release yourself from petty and small thinking. Control the mind’s stresses, and the problem that lies before you will become easier to handle, overcome and endure. There is nothing that life cannot give, there is nothing that life can ever steal. Life is the award-winning role that one plays of its Giver! Play it - perfectly, and the role will become the truth and reality!

We are like just a pencil in the hands of God, and the pencil will be sharpened and shortened as days pass by. No one is immune to worries, be it small or big. The more time one worries about certain things, the more one will look tired and become sleepless. Worries also depict us of proper sleep. Sleepless and endless nights are common to those who worries too much. Let go…be detached… you will be wonderfully peaceful in heart and in mind when you master this skill. After all, we are just temporary guests of this earth. What is there to worry when we have a Divine father in heaven? Does He not know what is best for us, his children?

Bride eats up justice/Greed eats up conscience…….

Bride and greed are selfish and intend to achieve their goals by his or her own ways without considering about others. I won’t talk too much on these 2 negatives, since it is all connected with personal needs and desires. There have been many cases and histories and testimonials that tells us not to use bride or be greedy. Learn from such experiences, look before one leap. Measure twice, the carpenters’ rule before cutting.

The law of harvest, plant tomatoes, you get tomatoes, plant beans you get beans too. Do not destroy the bridge after you have crossed it! Don’t cut the trees and destroy its fruits after you have had enough! Don’t think that you are the only survival in this earth planet! Nothing can hide your sins, nothing! You may feel that noone knows, well, is it that? Pride goes for a fall, so will prejudice!! Greed will eat up conscience and it is you yourself who will suffer at the end… again, Learn to be selfless! Learn to tame our emotions. You will be so much healthier and happier!

Barbecue, an American Tradition

Barbecue is as American as apple pie. It’s aroma evokes memories of baseball games, swimming and family vacations. Mouths water when the grill is fired up. Preparing meat for the barbecue is just as important as the cooking itself. Marinating infuses flavor into the meat, ensuring a delicious family meal that will not be easily forgotten.

Marinating is the process of steeping meat in a mixture of an acid (i.e. vinegar, lemon juice, or wine) and spices (i.e. salt, pepper, and herbs.) The acid tenderizes the meat causing it to hold more liquid, making it juicier and more flavorful. Care must be taken when making the marinade, as too much acid will toughen the meat. When marinating poultry, poke holes in the meat with a fork, or use a needle injector. Removing the skin allows the marinade to fully penetrate the meat. (Leaving the skin on compromises the flavor.) Poultry can be refrigerated in a covered container for up to 2 days in a marinade. (Meat should always be covered in the refrigerator.) The time for marinating depends on the size of the pieces as well as the kind of meat. Chicken breast takes longer than steak because it is firmer. To reduce the amount of time needed for marinating cut the meat into smaller pieces. You can also pound chicken flat to cut time.

There are a variety of containers appropriate for marinating. Metal, plastic, and glass bowls all work. My favorite containers, however, are plastic bags. When a bag is used a smaller amount of marinade is needed because the air can be squeezed out. The meat is covered completely which allows for the flavors to be infused more quickly and evenly. Plus, the bag can be tossed when the job is done, making clean-up fast and easy.

There are a few safety tips to remember when marinating poultry, meat and seafood. Raw meat and fish contain juices which may harbor harmful bacteria. To avoid contamination never reuse a marinade. Do not reuse containers without carefully washing them with dish soap. Don’t marinate meat past the grocer’s “use-by” date. And finally, always marinate in the refrigerator–never at room temperature.

Italian Chicken Marinade - Place 2 lbs. sliced chicken in a plastic bag. Add 8 oz. Italian dressing, the juice of 1 fresh lemon, a few turns of fresh pepper, and a little salt. Marinate a few hours in the refrigerator. Remove from the bag and place on a heated grill. During the last few minutes of grill time, lay thin slices of lemon over the chicken. Serve the grilled chicken with a small amount of the unused Italian dressing.

Starting a Business? Inventory Your Entrepreneurial Skills

Almost every business start-up checklist that aspiring entrepreneurs will read, refers to “must know” information about legal issues, money management, sales, marketing and operations. In fact, success as an entrepreneur not only relies on your knowledge and effective execution of these fundamentals, but also requires a constant commitment to keep growing and gaining knowledge in these areas. Fortunately, there are many resources available for small businesses in the form of professional services or public agencies available to help us augment our own skills in these areas at affordable rates. As we busy ourselves getting on top of these business-technical skills to manage day-to-day operations, it doesn’t take long for us to realize that these skills, although essential, might not be enough to make your business start-up succeed.

What could be missing? Maybe it is that other, less talked about, business start-up check list - the one that speaks to the actual success behaviors necessary to run and grow your new business. Skills or traits such as judgment, confidence, agility, and creativity are some of the critical intangibles that are hard to measure, next to impossible to farm out but critical for start-up business success. For most of us it’s relatively easy to look at the numbers and know if cash flow is good or bad or to look at a marketing plan and say if it worked or not. On the other hand, however, it might be hard for many of us to own up to having limited knowledge or weakness especially if we are fearful that admission might force us to shelve our dreams of business ownership. The fact is, we can significantly enhance our chances of new business success if we take the time to inventory our skill set and put strategies in place to enhance those skills we can and seek help and support where we struggle.

For most of us, much of this self discovery will take place once your start-up is in motion. In other words, we will learn on the job. Our hope, of course, is that it will happen early enough to avoid serious consequences. However, with a little bit of introspection and honest evaluation of our preferences or behaviors, we can actually examine our own tendencies and put corrective actions in place early.

The following simple assessment, albeit non-scientific, is one way to take inventory of our abilities in some of the required non-business-technical areas. It is based on the well accepted principle which has been used successfully in the job interview for years - that past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior.

Create a spreadsheet with five columns and label them as follows:

Column 1 - Skill or Trait - List the following 20 traits that are generally regarded as new business start-up skills. Feel free to add others you know to be important.

i. Agility

ii. Confidence

iii. Courage

iv. Creativity

v. Decisiveness

vi. Self discipline

vii. Good judgment

viii. Flexibility

ix. Hard Worker

x. Leadership

xi. Multitask effectively

xii. Networking ability

xiii. Objectivity

xiv. Openness to new ideas

xv. Political Savvy

xvi. Resilience

xvii. Self-starter

xviii. Interpersonal skills

xix. Risk tolerance

xx. Visionary

Column 2 - Rating: On a scale of 1-10, rate yourself on each of these entrepreneurial traits - with “1″ meaning you have concerns about your strengths and “10″ meaning you have confidence your skills are strong in this area.

Column 3 - Example: Identify the best example in your past that demonstrates your strength with regard to the entrepreneurial trait or skill in question.

Column 4 - Strategy - Define a plan of action to address your shortcomings in any entrepreneurial trait where your self score is less than a 6 - especially if you consider it important to your start-up business.

Column 5 - Sensitivity - To help focus and prioritize your efforts, rank the entrepreneurial skills and traits based on their relative significance to your business. For example if you sell widgets via the internet, interpersonal business skills, which are always important, might be less significant than agility to keep up with internet marketing trends. On the other hand if you run an in home day care, agility within very stringent government regulations might be a little harder and so you might choose to focus on your networking abilities to keep and gain new customers.

Column 3 is quite possibly the most important. It forces us as entrepreneurs to not just say how good we are, but to actually identify specific examples to demonstrate how we have acted in the past. If you have scored yourself with a high rating (6 or higher) and cannot identify great examples in your past to support that ranking - you might need to rethink your self rated scores.

Once you have completed the exercise yourself, ask someone whose opinion you value or potential business partners to complete a similar chart with their observations about you and each other. Comparing the results should give you a good idea of skills you have mastered and those which are potential weak areas you might need to address to improve you or your team’s chance of success. Brainstorm potential solutions and be open to the fact that it might come in many forms. One entrepreneur might choose to join business clusters to share ideas another could decide to create a board of advisors. No one path will fit everyone or every business model.

Facing our fears head on will significantly improve our chances of business start-up success. The last thing we want as our businesses begin to grow is to find out that our skills bank is close to running on empty and doing this personal inventory is long overdue and. Begin taking stock of your entrepreneurial skills today!

How to Get a Bankruptcy Car Loan

If a bankruptcy if keeping you from driving the new car that you want then you are at the right place. Bankruptcy car loans are prone to dragging you down for years but it does not have to be that way anymore. Some lenders are prepared to work with you to find an online auto loan no matter what your credit score looks like.

Know what your credit score is

You have to understand how your credit score affects everything that you purchase through credit. Credit means that somebody trusts you to repay them for money that you are borrowing. When you don’t repay what you owe it affects your credit score. Think of your credit score as a friend that you never paid back. Do you think that friend would lend you what they lent you the first time? Probably not. If you do not repay money, try to borrow too much money, try to borrow too often or have too much money borrowed at once lenders will most likely not work with you. If you declare bankruptcy then you admitted fault for not being able to repay your loans or money that has been borrowed. If you change your ways and do not abuse your new credit line then lenders are likely to see that you are being responsible and not living beyond your current means.

Buy a Car you can Afford - Used is sometime the best option

Everybody wants a brand new car but it is usually not feasible within most United States citizens incomes. You should not be spending more than 25% of your gross monthly income on your car payment. This means that if you make $2,500 then you should not spend more than $625 on your entire automobile expense a month. This includes your car payment, car insurance, and car warranty and gas expense. If you can find a new car that ends up costing less than 25% of your gross monthly income for all automobile related expenses then you are making a wise decision.

Improving yourself proves responsibility

Everybody has run into a situation that at one time or another which requires them to skip a payment. We learn from our mistakes, or at least most people learn from their mistakes. Be prepared to tell a lender why you declared bankruptcy. If it was because of irresponsible spending and borrowing then you should tell them that is why. Let them know how you made a mistake and did not fully understand how these bad decisions could affect your credit score. Do not explain your hardships since nobody wants to hear your sob story of how irresponsible you were. Tell them what you did to improve your credit situation (this shows you have learned a lot from the bankruptcy and are not the same person).

Try a Credit Repair Company

If you have already declared bankruptcy or are thinking of declaring bankruptcy you can try speaking with a credit repair company. They charge you a fee to fix your credit score on a monthly fee or one upfront payment. If you do not have money to spare for a service such as this then you should try purchasing a book from a local Barnes and Nobles on Credit Repair. Set a budget and stick to it making sure that you always pay your minimums. Pay off the highest interest rate loan first and work to the lower rates after you pay them off one at a time.

Use an online service that works directly with dealers

Since bankruptcy loans are often turned down by ordinary banks, there are services available to work directly with people with bankruptcies looking for a car loan. DRIVERCREDIT.com is an online service that helps you get into a new or used car. They accept employed, self employed and retired people as long as you have proof of at least $1500 gross monthly income. They work with dealers who in turn work directly with lenders that will accept bankruptcy car loans.

Commercial Dog Food Myth Busters-The First Ingredient (Part 2)

In Part 1 we talked about some of the tricks that pet manufacturers use to make their products look more appealing to consumers. After all, protein should make up the majority of the dog’s diet, right? We don’t want any of those nasty carbohydrate fillers do we? Do we???

Nutritional Common Sense

If you think about it, the dog’s diet must add up to be 100%. There are five nutrients to take into consideration here (not including water): protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins.

According to accredited veterinary nutritionists, the average adult neutered house dog only needs about 20% protein, 15% fat, and all the necessary vitamins and minerals can fit into 5% of the diet. So what makes up the remaining 60%?

It only makes sense that if the diet is formulated properly and the list ACCURATELY reflects the relative weight of the ingredients, low calorie carbohydrates should make up the balance of the diet. Therefore, the list should have a grain as the first ingredient.

Rebecca Remillard, PhD, DVM, accredited veterinary nutritionist, and staff nutritionist at the Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston, MA, states, “If a diet has the proper protein to calorie ratio and is properly formulated for the average adult dog, the meat source would not be first in the list.”

Despite this, many self-proclaimed pet food experts will try to tell you that carbohydrates are nothing but junk. While there is no minimum dietary requirement for carbohydrates in pet foods, the body does have a minimum glucose requirement to supply energy for critical organs such as the brain. In addition, most cells use glucose as their primary fuel.

Have you ever seen an animal or person who is hypoglycemic (lacking glucose)? Scary!

This glucose CAN come from protein or fats. However, the liver must manufacture the glucose from these sources in order to dump the nitrogen. Carbohydrates don’t contain nitrogen and don’t need to be metabolized by the liver and excreted by the kidneys. This makes carbohydrates an extremely important energy source because they basically allow the body to do less work.

According to Dr. Remillard, “Some pet foods do contain very little or no carbohydrates but overfeed protein and fat. This would most likely be no problem for the feral dog or cat not expected to live past 2-3 years of age. I suggest this is not the ideal diet when one expects your pet to live 10-20 years. It’s much like smoking in people–rarely are the effects noted before 20 or 30 years–so it seems OK at first.

I find it interesting when pet owners are concerned about the large carbohydrate fraction comprising pet foods but think feeding vegetables and fruit is more ‘healthy’ and/or ‘natural’. These same pet owners fail to realize that vegetables and fruits are primarily comprised of water and carbohydrates in the form of sugar, starch and fiber. You cannot get away from those carbohydrates.”

It’s OK–you don’t have to avoid a pet food just because it has a carbohydrate listed as the first ingredient.

Also keep in mind that the ingredient list in general cannot and should not be used as a way to assess the “quality” of a pet food. There are just too many factors to consider. We only wish it was so simple. While the list of ingredients may be helpful, it has certain shortcomings that limit its usefulness for evaluating the nutritive value of pet foods.

For better or worse, the consumer must rely on the reputation or word of the manufacturer to assess the nutritive value and safety of the ingredients appearing on the list. If you have any questions about your pet’s food just pick up the phone. All you have to do is look a little past the ingredient list to find the toll-free number.

They’re waiting for your call!

10 Tips to Get Your Start-up Off and Running

The starter’s pistol has gone off, the rest of the field has taken off, and you’re still frozen in a kneeling position, head down and bracing for the race to begin. As your fellow competitors race to the finish line, you rise slowly and try to convince yourself that this race was not really for you. You console yourself by saying that the risks were too great and ask yourself such self-doubting questions as, “What if I had fallen?” or “What if I’d started and couldn’t finish?” and “Who was I kidding? I had no business even thinking about entering that race.” Starting a business is very much like running a race: Preparation and practice are key success factors. The following 10 tips, framed in the context of getting physically prepared for a race, might help you overcome the hurdles that entrepreneurs are sure to encounter on the road to startup.

1. “Pump” up your attitude. Think positive. Think of the optimistic outcomes and find a way to stay focused on your goal of starting a business. Put negative thoughts and self-doubt about your abilities and your potential aside, and surround yourself with energetic and supportive people. Even without realizing it, you may be dampening your own enthusiasm, procrastinating and eventually sabotaging your own efforts because of your self-doubts. Stop second-guessing yourself and, at all costs, stay away from negative people who are just waiting for you to trip and fall and watch your start-up fail.

2. “Rejuvenate” your affiliations. Your goal is to connect with people who want to support you and are willing to help you in the lean times. Affiliate with others who are in similar stages of startup and are also trying to build their own businesses. Find new alliances by joining professional and civic organizations and seeking out successful people you want to model. Locate organizations in your own community where other entrepreneurs get together and support each other–your local chamber is a great place to start. These affiliations can not only lead to advice and networking connections, but are a great source of potential clients.

3. “Firm” up your future. Assess and mitigate the risks. Risks can only become surprises if you avoid honest self-evaluation up front. Keep in mind that risks can’t be mitigated if they’re not acknowledged therefore do all the legwork required to shore up your plans ahead of time. As you create your plans, consider both your short-term and long-term goals. Think about business growth and all the ramifications of your need for cash or talent to help you grow. Contact an expert at your local Small Business Development Center (www.sba.gov/sbdc) to review your plans with you. Have someone help you with your pro-forma financials to make sure your cash flow will remain adequate to execute your dream.

4. “Flex” your creative muscles. Think creatively about how you’ll get your products in front of people. Think about imaginative ways you can tip the scales in your favor. Start a “Creativity Cluster” of others who are looking for new and innovative ideas to bring products to market or get their ideas out into the marketplace. Get inspired by reading about creative and innovative companies and how they’ve succeeded, and learn about the practices that differentiate them from others. Keep thinking about new ways to do things that will keep your organization efficient.

5. “Supplement” your credentials. Work with advisors and small-business centers to add to your knowledge and skill set. You might have an excellent idea and may be really skilled in one or two areas but, like all of us, have some blind spots. Although entrepreneurs are known to multitask really well, they’ll readily admit there are pieces of the business they hate. Investigate your local community colleges to see if they offer entrepreneurship classes for business owners. Local organizations also sometimes schedule classes and workshops designed to help you supplement your credentials in the areas of marketing, budgeting, funding, technology, operations and financial management. If you’re not reading business journals or articles like http://www.fastcompany.com, http://www.entrepreneur.com or http://www.wsj.com, you’re also missing opportunities to increase your knowledge. Also think about forming a small business advisory group of experts in those areas where their knowledge can supplement your own.

6. “Buff and polish” your ideas. Like most of us, you’ve probably scribbled an idea down and then lost the paper you might have written it on, only to hear later about some other business owner executing “your” idea. A great way to refine your great ideas and really flesh them out is to write them down in a place where you can find them at any given moment. There’s no time like the present to start your “startup journal.” This can either be in the form of a good old spiral-bound notebook or something more sophisticated. There are any number of tools on the market that will help you keep track of important notes and milestones as you move forward and develop your ideas. These ideas can eventually be rolled up into your business plan, which will become the roadmap for your business.

7. “Reshape” your perspective. As you begin writing down your thoughts and ideas, don’t give up just because you find you need to make changes. This is normal! As a future successful entrepreneur, you can’t afford to become functionally fixed on any one way of doing things. Factors influencing your decisions, including the environment, new technology, your budget or your time, are always shifting, and you might find you’ll have to tweak your ideas to make them work. It may be that you’d been looking at one market segment and now realize that for whatever reason, you might want to focus on a new target market. This does not mean giving up–it means reshaping your perspective.

8. “Align” your dreams with reality. Discovering and clarifying what you really want to do as an entrepreneur is key to your future success. If you don’t know what you love to do, then your dreams should remain just that–dreams. Successful people do what they love. Dreaming about owning your own business but not exploring who you are and what you love to do won’t help you move closer to the reality of successful entrepreneurship. Let’s say your dream is to start an organizing business. But then you find out that there are several competitors in your region. This doesn’t mean you should abandon the idea–it means you need to think creatively about your marketing plan and how you plan to differentiate your business from the competition.

9. “Chart” your performance. Keeping track of your individual successes and milestones is fundamental to your overall success. So set goals for yourself and your business, and chart your progress. Revisit your plans to make sure you’re on target. If you’re not, evaluate why and make corrections to get back on track. Many business owners forget the importance of setting measurable goals against which to benchmark progress and modifying those goals based on real-life performance.

10. “Map” the future. The results of several recent studies show that people who write down their goals are much more likely to achieve them and that people who visualize success have a better chance of actually being successful. The success of your business depends on preparation, practice and planning. Create a vision for what your company should look like, and create a map to get there. The great thing about the map is that although it doesn’t guarantee where you’ll end up, it gives you the courage to start the journey.

How to Find a Work at Home Job

Yes, tens of thousands of people do work at home full time. I’m one of them. So how do you find the right work at home opportunity without being scammed? It takes work and commitment to find something that uses your own skills to allow you to stay home and make the money you need. And no, you never need to pay anyone to find these opportunities for you.

First, think about what it is you do best. Is it writing? Selling? Programming? Making phone calls? Selling items online? Are your strengths creative or analytical? Are you self motivated? Answering these questions is an important first step to finding the job that’s right for you. Once you identify your strengths, begin researching industries that use these strengths. If phone sales is for you, look into call centers that hire home workers. If you are highly self motivated and creative, making handmade items for online sales might be right for you.

Working from home can entail finding a company that hires home workers, or it can entail putting together your own job. If you need direction and motivation from someone else, certainly opt to be an employee or independent contractor. If you have no trouble getting yourself to work long hours, consider creating your own job. Creating your own job may actually be easier than hiring on with a company. There is no minimum experience level and no salary cap. You can work as much or as little as you need to in order to keep the bills paid.

If you are interested in creating your own job, it is not necessary to pay anyone for information, though many people find it preferable to pay for information that has been put together in an orderly fashion rather than spending hour after hour after hour researching the subject matter. If an ebook is right for you, and you feel you would benefit from the knowledge, purchase an ebook to study. Using Photo Shop Layers

Always Streamline and organise your Layers palette by creating and labelling groups of related layers. Layers are powerful tools, but things can get confusing if you don’t keep them under control by labelling them and placing them in sets.

When layers appeared back in version 2 of Photoshop, designers wondered how they had ever managed without the facility to create artwork on multiple editable layers.

Although we now take layers for granted, there are some useful management options that many users may not be taking advantage of. Working smarter with layers means labelling them for a start; this saves you having to scroll up and down the Layers palette, trying to guess where a particular element is stored.

Grouping related layers into sets, and colour-coding them, will help you to further streamline your workflow.

Creating Layer sets:

To quickly create a layer set, click on the chain icon link a group of related layers together. Open the Layers Palette menu and choose New Set From Linked.

Layer sets can be opened for editing purposes and then collapsed to display a single folder icon, saving valuable screen space.

Another way to create a layer set from linked layers is to click the Create a new set icon at the foot of the palette. When you create a new layer, colour-code and label it for easier access.

You can easily remove and reorganise layer sets. Right-click on a set’s icon to delete the set while retaining the individual layers.

Quick tip if you are working on a project and you are working in minimised mode, this will help you not to cullter your workspace and helps keep all the layers out of sight, but immediately accessible.
