3rd Force, the highly talented Smooth Jazz group has released their latest CD titled Force Field and Wow! It’s really a good one.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Force Field. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Smooth Jazz isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness on display here.

I give Force Field my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While the entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tracks are The Closer You Get [track 3], Step Into My Live [track 8], and Once In A Lifetime [track 10].

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 7, Bridge Of Dreams. This is a great track!

A cat will not always be young and sharp, and after it grows old, its senses will become duller, such as vision worsening and hearing or sense of smell deteriorating. Some cats age before others, or have different changes as they age, so here are some common signs of aging in a cat that you should look out for to be able to take care of your cat.

Some changes may be harder than others to notice, for your cat may have adapted to the changes themselves. But after some extra attention and checkups, you should be able to find out diseases or negative aspects of your cat’s aging, and find the best prevention method. Some changes would be noticeable, such as dental diseases, which causes bad breath.

Besides that, there are also harder-to-spot signs such as hearing senses deteriorating. Your cat may have gotten used to not hearing as properly as it used to, and due to that, you would not have known that your cat is actually becoming deafer.

To find out for sure if your cat is really not hearing well, you can look out for its reactions to certain noises. Once when your cat used to react quickly to loud sounds and yet now, it is not really startled, or shows no signs of hearing the sound, you can be sure that your cat is suffering from hearing loss.

Snap your fingers quickly behind your cat’s head, and see if it curls back right away, or react in any way to the direction of the noise. If your cat is unsure of the origins of the noise, or looking somewhere else instead, then you can be certain it has hearing problems.

If you usually keep your pet in the house, then there is no need to worry about its loss in hearing. If your cat is an outdoor cat, then you should take precautions about letting it wander outside, as it may not be able to hear oncoming dangers such as vehicles or other animals like dogs. As it cannot hear the approaching sounds of these things, it may become a victim before it realizes it is in danger.

Besides hearing and eyesight that is affected in your cat, its sense of taste is also reducing. For cats, this could be a problem, for they are picky animals that usually test and smell at their food to see if it is still good, or spoilt. Therefore if they cannot sense if it is delicious enough or bad, they may ignore the food, and not eat it for enough nutrition. An aging cat needs its health, and this may be damaging for its health. Aviophobia, the fear of flying, affects thousands of travellers every year. The symptoms are familiar to any phobia sufferer. A cold sweat, difficulty breathing, nausea, and eventually hyperventilation are only exacerbated by the recycled air and pressurized cabin.

The same symptoms strike the arachnophobe when they see a spider and an agoraphobe when faced with the outdoors. These are symptoms of anxiety that arise when we feel physically in danger and threatened. The problem is that our response is misplaced in these situations; our physical body is not in danger, yet we experience symptoms of the classic fight-or-flight response.

The word phobia comes from the Greek word for fear and is used in modern English to denote irrational and inappropriate fears. A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. It occurs when the inability to deal with a fear of commonplace activities or things overwhelms and becomes an integral part of daily life. A 2005 study shows that between 8.7% and 18.1% of Americans suffer from some sort of phobia .

To cope with phobias it is common to avoid situations where the phobia may be encountered. Recording thoughts and feelings associated with the phobia may help to excavate the origins of the fear.

In order to address and eliminate phobias, the fear must be confronted and new reactions associated with it. Before confronting the feared activity it is important to face the idea itself and begin to combat the feelings of anxiety attached with the anticipation. Also, breathing skills, relaxing techniques, self-hypnosis and concentration exercises are all useful tools that can be practiced before the necessary confrontation. Hypnosis can provide the skill-set necessary in this difficult situation.

The preparation will provide a foundation to cope with the fear when the phobia is addressed head on. These techniques will help to ‘re-program’ the brain so that the initial associations with negative panic responses are replaced with new calm thoughts and techniques. Often times this process can take a considerable amount of time, but in many cases only one session is necessary.

I can describe the latest release from Smooth Jazz sensation Craig Chaquico for you with just one word… Outstanding!

Four Corners launches with an outstanding track, The Drifter, that I anticipate will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It’s a really nice track.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Smooth Jazz isn’t your favorite genre you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

Overall Four Corners is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Smooth Jazz fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.
