Spring Cleaning With Law of Attraction

The days are getting longer and the buds on the trees are beginning to burst. What a wonderful time of year to be awake and alive! And this year, with a little help from Law of Attraction, you can clean more than the cobwebs from the corners of your house.

First, let’s explore the hottest buzzword of the decade, Law of Attraction. Simply stated, it means, “like attracts like.” There are many ways that’s expressed in our culture, such as ‘birds of a feather flock together’ or ‘misery loves company.’ What those expressions are communicating is that at the deepest level, we create our own reality based on our thoughts. It’s not just the thoughts that shape our lives; it’s how we feel about what we’re thinking about. Or, as Abraham-Hicks says it, “how you feel and what you get are always a match.”

At first, that may seem too daunting to even contemplate! But as you begin to work with this ancient universal spiritual principle, you come to appreciate its equanimity and even-handedness. That’s when the fun begins!

Does that mean you have to monitor every thought you think? Of course not! That would be impossible…and not a lot of fun. What is does mean is that the more you pay attention, the more you’ll notice what subjects trigger negative feelings and what subjects trigger positive ones. That’s where spring-cleaning comes in!

Let’s say you want a relationship in your life. How does that thought make you feel? Are you excited at the prospect? Or depressed that it hasn’t happened yet? Do you believe you’ll meet the mate of your dreams? Or do you believe “all the good ones are taken?”

What about money? Do you believe you can have as much as you want? Or do you think you’ll always need more? Are you someone who feels rich, no matter how much you have in the bank? Or do you feel poor, no matter how much you have in the bank? What other negative declarative statements are you harboring in your closet?

Spring-cleaning can bring you face to face with your long-held negative beliefs. A belief is only a thought we keep thinking. Sometimes, they are transparent beliefs - we don’t even realize we’re holding them until we look closely and see how they’re holding us back!

Here are some spring-cleaning tips to help you get on track for all of your greatest desires:

1. Make a list of the most important parts of your life. The list might include relationships, job, money, home, family, friends.
2. Write down whatever comes into your mind about those subjects.
3. Read what you’ve written with an awareness of how your beliefs shape your reality. Are there any thoughts or beliefs you might want to change? Great! You’ve found the hidden dust-bunnies!
4. Write affirmative statements in the present tense about the subjects you’ve chosen. For example, “I am living the life of my dreams with my soulmate.” Or, “I have a wonderful job that pays me more money than I need.”

In the same way you go through your closet at the start of the season, take some time to go through your beliefs and change the ones that don’t serve you. Not only will you start manifesting more quickly, you’ll find more room in your closet for a whole wardrobe of new thoughts!

Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell just introduced his program to reform the state’s health insurance. This proposed program is entitled Prescription for Pennsylvania. While it still needs to be approved by the legislature, it would definitely bring significant changes to health care in the state. Rendell’s overall goal is to provide health care to everyone, including about 767,000 PA residents who do not have any coverage. Below are some of the ways in which Rendell’s proposed plan will benefit residents of Pennsylvania.

1. Affordable Insurance For All

A new program which is part of this “Prescription” is called CAP, which means “Covering All Pennsylvanians.” By this, the Governor intends to be able to bring affordable health insurance to everyone in the State, especially to those who make less than the State’s average income of $39,000. Two target areas that this program is looking to provide insurance for, are:

Employed individuals who do not have health insurance
Small businesses owners who do not have health insurance

2. Employed Individuals Who Do Not Have Health Insurance

Governor Rendell’s own goal for those who are employed but have no insurance, but limited to those who make at least 300% of the poverty level of income, is to be able to provide health care coverage for around $280 per month. Apparently this is the actual cost of providing this policy that his counsel has determined. There are presently several insurance carriers offering health insurance for this amount or less in Pennsylvania.

3. Individual Health Insurance

Governor Rendell’s goal for those who are employed but do not have insurance is limited to those who make at least 300% of the poverty level of income. The cost to provide health care coverage would be around $280 per month as this is the actual cost of providing a policy that his counsel determined. There are presently several insurance carriers offering health insurance for this amount or less in Pennsylvania.

4. Program Will Reduce Medical Costs To Make It More Affordable

Several areas in the new Pennsylvania health insurance program are targeted in an effort to curb overgrown and unnecessary medical costs. These targeted areas will help reduce the billions of dollars spent each year and help to reduce the overall cost and make it affordable for nearly all. Here are some of the features that have been specifically mentioned in order to make it happen.

A.-Examination of Services Performed - Certain areas are being examined to potentially reduce current medical care costs such as reducing the length of hospital stays in order to prevent things like hospital infections. Another targeted problem will be those hospital stays that could have been prevented by better personal self-care or better physician services in the first place, such as treatment among people who have diabetes, asthma, and other various medical conditions. This also includes scaling back on certain procedures and tests that may be unnecessary.
B.-Reduce Medical Costs By Enlarging Services. The annual cost of providing health care is billions of dollars. The Governor is looking to reduce this figure by cutting out unnecessary expenditures in order to lower costs of health insurance in Pennsylvania. By expanding medical facilities hours of operations to include evening hours and weekends, he believes there will be less of a need to use emergency rooms for everyday medical needs. Furthermore, Rendell hopes that by bringing everyone into the health insurance program, the overall costs of healthcare in Pennsylvania will decline.
C.-Other Changes That Will Benefit Many - Other additional changes in the health insurance in PA program include:

·-Allowing Nurses To Perform More Services:

Governor Rendell is proposing the use of medical attendants like nurses and possibly dental technicians in a wider capacity as they are trained to do more than they are generally permitted to do. For example, in a nurse-controlled medical facility, nurses may not be permitted to do things like stitching wounds, treating infected toenails, or removing moles, if these nurses were in a doctor-controlled facility, they would regularly perform these tasks. Costs will be reduced by allowing nurses to perform these medical treatments on a statewide basis, allowing doctors to perform functions that are targeted to their specialized training.

Another example is the distribution of prescriptions during the birthing process. Many mid-wives and nurse practitioners already deliver as many as 10% of the babies in PA, and it seems like it should merely be the natural progression of their services into this arena, as well.

Nurse care in such fields as has been mentioned here, and others, would reduce health insurance costs as nurses do not charge much as doctors do for their services.

Reducing Costs Through Rebates:

For those insurers that provide plans to small businesses, there may be a need to provide rebates. If an employer’s medical costs for their group plan uses less than 75% of the collected premiums, the insurer will need to provide a rebate to each of the employees. This will help keep costs down for employers - at least for those years where expenses are lower than expected.

The question here is how do the insurers fund the claims for the groups whose claims exceed 200% or even 500% of their premiums?…if this is done on an overall loss ratio basis, it would be of great benefit to employers.

With so many changes that will soon be effecting the health insurance in Pennsylvania in a positive way, it appears that many people will certainly be able to enjoy better healthcare. The Prescription for Pennsylvania may indeed be a real good thing, and only time will tell.

After the suicide of band Boston leader Brad Delp and comedian Richard Jeni, I started to research other suicides by celebrities or famous people. I am shocked by the names on this list. I had hoped that the clues to these highly public suicides would provide clues to help prevent other suicides. Virtually all of the suicides were due to depression, loss, grief and intense pressure to be the best at their profession. Ultimately, just like every other successful death by suicide, they just didn’t want to live any more.

If you have suicidal ideations, you should immediately call 911, a family member and the Suicide Help Line; 1-800-SUICIDE( 800-784-2433).

A nasty, thoroughly dishonest story is beginning to emerge about one of the biggest financial scams ever!

Which, in turn, gives an awful example of Top-Down-Management, and the total disregard and contempt it holds for its most important asset, you, its customer.

Firstly it is obvious that the Management of British Banks are incapable of knowing what its left hand is doing from its right. Because boy, have they just wasted millions of pounds, poured down the black hole of wasted Advertising and Marketing money!

And it is going to cost them many many millions more to try and attempt to restore the image of the British Banking System! If ever!

The facts?

Lets give you an example, say you had, inadvertently, gone overdrawn on your bank account by, lets say £5. The banks would, unlawfully I hasten to add, charge you anywhere between £30 and £40.

There is convincing documentary evidence that the bank’s true costs is no more that £2 and normally far less. Their penalty charges produce a profit margin as much as 1700% (seventeen hundred percent), but the scary thing is that it is totally unlawful.

As the BBC recently reported there has been a massive consumer movement over the last year. Well over one million bank customers have challenged their banks on the legality of penalty charges and have reclaimed their money.

Despite this, the banks continue to resist claims. The banks continue to deny that they are breaking the law.

Banks continue to clog the courts with sham defences.
Banks continue to apply their unlawful penalty charges.
Each bank claims that it is acting in line with all of the other banks.

Despite all of this, despite mounting public pressure, despite mounting publicity, despite mounting condemnation from the financial ombudsman, the banks continue to defy authority.

Well done Top-Down-Management, well done Marketing Departments, you will now have plenty of excuses to go to your paymasters and beg for millions more money to squander down the black hole of one-way advertising… Together with lavish and beautifully produced direct mail brochures…all to no avail I hasten to add.

No amount of money will save you now, one-way glitz no longer works, especially when you have been accused of ripping off your customers big time.

They should manufacture a special Oscar, for the achievement of the best Top-Down-Management financial scam ever! A sort of lifetime award!

No amount of PR; Advertising; Direct Marketing will ever change the attitudes of the thousands who have been ripped off.

So advertise away…spend millions more of our money trying to cover up your dirty deeds and regain our confidence…what a laugh because you never will regain our confidence - ever.

Additionally the BBC (the poacher turned gamekeeper!) in a nine month investigation working undercover in a leading British Bank revealed a culture of ruthlessness and lies which will shock their customers.

For example: “With a touch of glee, my bank trainer told a classroom of call centre trainees that he “loved” getting customers complaining about bank charges”.

“They’d phone up, start crying and blaming you and telling you their kids are going to starve. And I’d be like, ‘I don’t know you - I don’t care. I was just thinking you’re not getting it back. I was a right git.”

And I have in front of me a marketing magazine article “The age of audience participation”.

And this is from Barclays Bank, one of England’s leading financial institutions,
who obviously must have the very finest example of Top-Down-Management at its worst.

In an age when technology is supposed to be allowing us to get closer to customers there is evidence of a very cynical attitude towards the customers and their money. One of the Barclays people said “I hate it when they say the customer is always right. It’s just ridiculous. Someone was stoned when they made up that policy.”

Hey Barclays Marketing Department, there goes a few more millions of your (wasted) efforts. Boys are you going to have to find ways to rectify all this mess. The customers are always wrong…right?

Could it possibly be that in this era of high growth and higher education, that more and more people are entering into marketing communications with absolutely no idea of the process of communication, no idea or concept of customer acquisition and retention.

Certainly, given the evidence here, they have no concept of service. And I’ve just finished reading a book called, “Service, Service, Service”! Ain’t no such thing!

There is more, a hideous story after story of dreadful client mistreatment and rampant dishonesty, it makes me ashamed of the whole of the British Advertising and Marketing community, and, more worrying than that, these attitudes to me, demonstrate the decline and fall of the British economy!

Of course I have more to say, how to solve this crisis in inefficient Top-Down-Management, how to tackle the problems from an interactive marketing communications standpoint and much more. But that’s later…much later because more of this dreadful story is still to emerge sad to say!

Paul Ashby pioneered interactive communication to the advertising and marketing communities some twenty-five years ago. The communication issues he addresses have been neglected during the explosive grown of advertising in the 60s, 70s and 80s, these are Cognitive Dissonance, Selective Retention and Selective Exposure.

Would you like to discover the incredible results to be attained by using interactive communication? Well these are revealed for FREE at http://effectiveaccountablecommunication.blogspot.com or contact Paul directly on paul.ashby@yahoo.com

Change the Whole Room Quickly and Easily

Kitchens and bathrooms are the most renovated rooms in houses today. This is because a few simple changes can transform the whole look and feel of these rooms.

For kitchen renovations the trend is leaning towards sprucing up rooms that function perfectly but that are showing signs of age and wear and tear.

Kitchen cabinets, countertops and flooring show the most wear and tear, but other easy-to-do renovations in the kitchen include the addition of islands and changing out the lighting.

1. Lighting
Perhaps the most overlooked and easiest way to change the look and function of the kitchen is changing the lighting. This can be done in three simple ways.

First, add some task lighting, which will illuminate a specific work area. Each work area should have its own task lighting. An easy way to accomplish this is by adding under-cabinet lights. These light up all countertop stations and make it easier to see what you’re working on.

Ambient lighting is the second type of lighting that should be considered in a kitchen. This will set the mood of the room and should come from one functional fixture that gives a soft light to the entire space.

Finally, there’s accent lighting, which highlights architectural elements or other features in your kitchen. For example, adding over-cabinet lighting will emphasize high ceilings.

2. Cabinet refacing
Once the lighting is in, the next kitchen renovation that’s popular to make is cabinet refacing, which is a great way to refresh and update the look of a kitchen.

Essentially, the process of refacing kitchen cabinets consists of affixing a thin layer of real wood or laminate veneer to the cabinets and is about 60 per cent cheaper than replacing kitchen cabinets.

Plastic laminate comes in a variety of colors and wood grain effects. But because it is a

Rigid thermo foils are similar to plastic laminate, but is very flexible so it can be applied to any style of door.

Real wood veneer is available in all natural wood species and is best suited to flat surfaces as it does not adhere neatly to curves.

3. Countertop replacement
Unfortunately, most kitchen counters cannot be resurfaced the same way cabinets can, so they must be replaced. But when it comes to replacing countertops, don’t make the decision based on looks alone. It’s important to take durability, maintenance and cost into consideration.

The most sought-after countertop and also the most expensive is granite. This natural stone looks beautiful and is quite durable, but requires regular maintenance with special sealant to keep it protected and looking gorgeous.

A less expensive and more common countertop is plastic laminate. This surface is less durable than granite, but also requires far less maintenance.

Solid surface or engineered stone combines the best in durability and maintenance. But it’s expensive - comparable in price to natural stone.

Tile is a cost-effective countertop option and while quite durable, it too requires some extra effort in maintaining the grout, which will absorb stains, odors and bacteria.

Wood is a beautiful option for a kitchen countertop, but isn’t always the best surface for all jobs. Most often, wood is found in the form of a butcher block island surrounded by countertops of another surface.

This idea of mixing and matching counter surfaces is gaining popularity because it’s a great way to create a kitchen that suits all needs and saves money by isolating expensive options like granite to a small baker’s station, or wood to an island.

4. Island addition
Islands are a very popular option in kitchen renovations and can be a fabulous way to maximize open floor space and increase useable counter space.

Today, islands can be permanent or portable, house sinks, ovens, even cook tops and can provide much needed storage. From multiple doors to wine racks and bookcases, islands can hold it all and look great, too.

The most popular and practical island top is the wooden butcher block, which holds up well for food preparation but also makes a suitable eating surface for islands that double as breakfast bars or tables for casual meals.

5. Flooring re-do
When it comes to kitchen flooring, it’s no surprise that the best kinds contain the same materials as countertops. This is because they are designed to provide durability and stain resistance.

Stone and ceramic floors are the most durable and easy to clean, but can be uncomfortable to stand on for long periods of time. This can be alleviated by strategically placing throw rugs in front of sinks and stoves where cooks spend a lot of time.

Wood has more cushion to it, but requires more maintenance and can dent if heavy or sharp objects like pots or knives are dropped.

That leaves vinyl, laminates and linoleum, which are the most affordable flooring. But be aware that vinyl is a petrochemical product and its production and disposal produces dangerous toxins to be released into the environment.

Linoleum, on the other hand is an all natural product made of linseed oil. And while laminate looks good, it may not be the best option for a kitchen where spills occur regularly because it can be damaged and warped by moisture.

Oklahoma is known as “America’s Frontier Lake State.” As such, it is covered with scenic lake resorts, fishing spots, and tourist destinations. The state is also known for its excellent casinos and bingo halls. In the following article, I’ll be profiling four areas which qualify as lake resort towns. Any of these locations would make an excellent spot for your next vacation or weekend getaway.

Guthrie, Oklahoma - Located in Logan County, Guthrie is part of the Oklahoma City Metroplex. As of 2003, the population was 10,110 (almost exactly the same as the day it was founded over 114 years ago).

The city was founded during the Land Run of 1889, and its population jumped from zero to 10,000 in a single day. It was the original capital of both the Oklahoma Territory and the State of Oklahoma (Oklahoma City became the new capital in 1910).

Guthrie is a very well preserved example of a Victorian city. The entire central residential and business district has its original architecture completely intact. It is the largest urban Historic Preservation District in the United States. There are several museums to visit in the city, including the Oklahoma Territorial Museum, the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, and the National 4-String Banjo Hall of Fame.

Guthrie holds an annual Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival which draws over 15,000 visitors from around the world. South of Guthrie, you will find two lakes named Liberty Lake and Guthrie Lake.

Guthrie has also been the site of numerous film and television productions. Movies such as Twister and Rain Man have taken advantage of Guthrie’s unique beauty.

Checotah, Oklahoma - Located in McIntosh County, Checotah is named for the first elected Chief of the Creek Nation after the Civil War, Samuel Checote.

The city is home to a Civil War battle site (The Battle of Honey Springs), a number of antique malls (although their city sales tax is among the highest in the state), and a thriving historic district. It also claims to be the steer wrestling capital of the world. Country singers Carrie Underwood and Mel McDaniel call Checotah their hometown.

As for lakes, Checotah is located near to Lake Eufaula, which was once the largest man-made lake in the United States (with 640 miles of shoreline). Especially during the summer months, this city is often filled with tourists and fisherman looking to relax and enjoy themselves.

Eufaula, Oklahoma - Located in McIntosh County, Eufaula boasts a population of 2,639. Lake Eufaula is the largest lake located entirely within the State of Oklahoma. The city is situated around Eufaula Cove, a gateway to such activities as camping, boating, fishing, and water skiing. If you like to catch (and eat) bass, crappie, and catfish, then you are certainly in luck! There are also plenty of deer and turkey to admire, and many consider the area to be a bird watchers paradise.

Durant, Oklahoma - Situated near Lake Texoma (one of the largest man-made lakes in the country), Durant is the county seat of Bryan County and has a population of 14,795. It is also the headquarters of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The city has also been recognized as the Magnolia Capital of Oklahoma.

Lake Texoma brings in around 10 to 12 million tourists every year, so you can often find visitors from all over the country in this charming city.

Whichever destination you choose, you can rest assured that the lakes and resorts of Oklahoma will provide you and your family with ample opportunities for rest and relaxation. And if you enjoy gambling and playing bingo, you might want to visit some of the state’s fine casinos and bingo halls.

Mysterious? Mystical? Difficult? No, intuitive eating is none of those things. It’s actually our birthright and the most natural way to live. It’s what we did instinctively as children.

There is a reason no current diet fads are sweeping the nation. It’s because all that deprivation, starvation, and struggle don’t work and haven’t worked during the 100 year history of dieting. Look around at the people in your everyday life and it’s obvious that all that dieting hasn’t worked.

Instead, intuitive eating is an easy, graceful, natural approach to food. All we have to do is relearn a few simple things:

1. You have a brain in your belly. The medical community calls it the enteric system and it will guide you to the perfect foods, in the perfect amounts for your body to be its ideal weight. All you have to do is practice following the guidance it is constantly giving you.

2. Food is a wonderful, sensual part of life. Slowing down to really taste and enjoy your food will not only give you a delightful experience while you eat, it will also help you eat much less. As you practice mindful eating, you will find yourself enjoying food more and eating less.

3. Treat yourself well. You only get this one body and it is a wonder of creation. You deserve fresh air. You deserve wholesome, whole foods. Deprivation and struggle don’t create a joyful life or a healthy body. Give your body the delights of delicious, unprocessed foods and playful movement as a way of taking loving care of yourself.

As you incorporate these new, entirely natural behaviors into your life, you will find you lose weight without having to make a great effort. Your body was born to be healthy and fit. You are naturally wired to be a normal weight. Honoring and listening to the natural wisdom of your body are skills that can be relearned. Intuitive eating is a powerful tool that will return you to your personal ideal weight with ease and grace.

If you’re looking for a real, long-term solution to ending the battle with your weight, intuitive eating may just be the answer you’ve been seeking.

With PC and IT support many small businesses often see costs and not a lot of benefit. However what can cause the biggest problem for a small business buying IT equipment is why. Why this particular PC ? Why a server? What is a server and why should I have one? The benefits are not always obvious to non-technical users. Knowing what advantage the latest technology might have really doesn’t matter if you work out taxes or you worry where your trucks are.

I think there are a number of possible reasons why this happens.

  • Technical people can appreciate functionality but may not always explain clearly how it can satisfy customer needs.
  • They can be guilty of not using simple English and pepper conversations with TLA (Three Letter Acronyms) and other IT jargon.
  • They tend to use IT Speak to explain IT problems they understand as simple, rather than simple English.
  • So how can we get from IT Speak to Simple English?

IT Speak is its own language. When a language teacher is teaching a beginner class they use a limited range of sentences or expressions to instruct the learners. If they use too many expressions students can get confused and find it harder to understand and learn the language.

IT Speak like any language also has a beginner level and a range of simple expressions that can help users understand and learn.

This is where we need to start. When I was faced with this problem some years ago I recognised it was essential for me to come up with some guidelines to help me talk to users at the right level.

  • Explain where they are and where the technology will bring them
  • Work out the basic vocabulary to use
  • Talk about things the customer can see
  • Limit talk about things they can’t see, using words like “hard disk”,”memory”,”program” and “network”
  • Describe all actions in a step by step manner
  • Show users how to do things
  • Give them one easy way to perform an action
  • Encourage any kind of questions- this boosts user confidence in my experience
  • There is no such thing as a stupid question!
  • We also need to remember to stand back from the technology. By helping a customer understand the implications or benefits of a technology, trust is easier to establish and build. As a result there is more potential to develop a long-term relationship. It can also be a very rewarding learning experience.

As bathing suit season approaches and the stores start stocking the racks with skimpy little bikinis and sexy low cut one piece swim suits, full figured women are worrying about what will be on the racks for them. Will there be a small assortment of frumpy, tired looking designs that cost a fortune?

The truth is, that is probably what will be available in local department stores. But because of the wonderful technology of computers, and the demand for quality plus size swimwear, full figured women don’t even have to step one foot into a store to find a beautiful, sexy and figure flattering swim suit this summer.

There are many online retailers that specialize in plus size bathing suits. And because of the high competition for online sales, savvy consumers can find excellent bargains on high quality beach wear and accessories.

With just a click of the mouse, you can be browsing through beautiful selections in your size and price range without all the hassle of plowing through hangers full of barbie doll sized bikinis. You will love the ease and convenience of shopping for your suit online.

Before purchasing, make sure the website has a secure ordering page. Check out the refund policy as well. Sometimes a sale item can’t be returned. Also, it is very important to measure and check the specific manufacturers size chart. Most will need a bathing suit size one to three times larger than regular clothing sizes. This varies by manufacturer so measure to be sure.

Style is important to looking good in your new swim suit. Tankinis are a wonderful choice for full figured women. They camouflage nicely the little flaws we want to keep hidden. Look for tummy control suits, they really have a slimming effect. Also, while you don’t want a swimsuit that is too tight, because it will show every imperfection and emphasize our problem areas, you also don’t want a suit that is too large. A suit that is waist defining is very attractive. And try to stay away from very loud patterns, while you want to turn heads, you don’t want to draw attention to your problem areas.

While most of us want a good value, this is an area where you don’t want to skimp on quality. A cheaper bating suit will lose shape, fade and merely hang off your body while a good quality swim suit like that from the Delta Burke Swimwear Collection, Beach Native and Longitude will retain shape, stay bright and flatter your figure. With proper care, you will also get more than one season from a quality swimsuit.
