York was once the capital of the country, and boasts a breathtaking
history and wealth of restored medieval buildings and streets. The city
gave its name to the county in which it resides, and is home to 13,000
people.

But York is much more than a beautiful, ancient city, and is home to a
vibrant cafe culture and array of fine dining restaurants. The shopping
facilities are plentiful, and there are more independent retailers
represented here than in any other modern city in the country. The city
even boasts a busy nightlife, with a wide selection of pubs, clubs and
live music venues.
York’s creative spaces and venues are another good reason to visit, and
the art installations housed in St Mary’s Church are a unique tourist
attraction in themselves.
With dozens of museums, sporting venues and restaurants, hundreds of
shops, and quality hotels and B’n'Bs on every street, York attracts
thousands of tourists every year and rewards every one of them!
History
The ancient city of York has a more exciting history than any other area of the
UK. The city was founded in AD71, and was the site of Constantine the
Great’s coronation as Roman Emperor. The city’s decline in importance
during the Industrial Revolution meant that ancient buildings were not
raised to make room for factories and mills, and an abundance of
medieval structures still exist today.
The Jorvik Museum is one of fifty museums and heritage centres in the
city, and explores the Viking history of the area. Viking streets have
been reconstructed for an underground tour, and there are masses of
archaeological finds and exhibits.
The National Railway Museum, The Castle Museum, The York Dungeon and
The Richard III Museum are just some of the others.
The city is also home to the largest Gothic church in the country, a
thirteenth century church and numerous other medieval ruins.

Art Galleries
York Art Gallery is home to oil and canvas artwork, watercolours and
ceramics from the fourteenth century to the present day. The collection
is separated into six themed areas: Morality, Devotion, Places, People,
Stories and Modern Aproaches; and there are regular temporary
exhibitions.
York St Mary’s is a desanctified medieval church that is used to house
a different art installation each year. The installations are inspired
by the building, and each adds something different to its ambience. The
installation for 2007 will explore the relationship between the viewer,
the artist and the natural world, and is being developed by Keiko
Mukaide.
The Artspace is a studio and art gallery, with new exhibitions every
six weeks.
Theatres
The Grand Opera House is an elegant, restored, nineteenth century
building, hosting performances of drama, dance, comedy and music. The
theatre is said to be the largest in Yorkshire.
The York Theatre Royal seats almost 1000 people and presents a
programme of drama, comedy, musicals, live music and stand-up comedy.
The theatre is currently being renovated but is still open for business.
Friargate Theatre is home to a Christian theatre company, and regularly
showcases small-scale touring productions.
Restaurants
The Biltmore Bar and Grill is located in a desanctified church, serves
grills and drinks in its bistro, and traditional dishes on its
mezzanine. The interior is modern and chic, and prices are a little
above the average.
Rarity offers meat and fish dishes, and a wide selection of red, white
and rose wines, champagnes and vintage ports.
The Mogul has received glowing reviews from customers and critics for
its Bengali cuisine and warm atmosphere. The restaurant has been
trading for fourteen years, and offers a catering service.
For high quality Italian food in traditional, upmarket surroundings,
and with a view of York Minster, La Vecchia Scuola is the ideal choice.
Pubs/Bars
York is known for an abundance of pubs, and many are interesting
historical buildings. Ye Old Starre Inn has a tenth century cellar and
numerous ghost stories. The pub trades in a range of beers and ales,
with regularly alternating guest beers.
The Lighthorseman is a bar and 4* B’n'B, which is apparently the single
remaining Victorian bar in the city. Real ale, food and bar snacks are
available.
CAMRA awarded the eighteenth century, The Blue Bell Inn, an award for
its ‘outstanding pub interior’, including restored nineteenth century
fixtures and fittings.
Montey’s Rock Cafe is a rock-themed bar; and Harkers is a
nineteenth century ex-bank, popular with young and old professionals.
Nightclubs
The Gallery presents pop and party anthems, hip-hop and r’n'b, soul,
funk, indie and rock’n'roll seven nights a week. The club comprises
four areas and a food stand.
Ziggy’s is the city’s main alternative club, and popular with students.
Drinks are cheap and the dress code is smart-casual. Music is largely
nu-metal, indie and rock, and there are 70s and 80s nights.
Toffs comprises a large, open dancefloor in one room, and a cafe-bar in
the other, with York’s largest VIP lounge upstairs. Music is mostly
chart, party and drum’n'bass.
Fibbers is a cafe, restaurant, bar, nightclub and music shop, with live
music every night.
Shopping
York city centre is a pedestrianised network of backstreets, cobbled walkways
and medieval streets, lined with curiosity shops and unique stores.
Coppergate is the place to find the major high street chains, and
Swinegate is home to designer boutiques and restaurants.
Monk’s Cross is the city’s newest shopping centre, and comprises all
the leading retailers, an interactive play feature for children and
1000 free parking spaces. Clifton Moor Shopping Centre is home to 34
stores and 3000 parking spaces.
The McArthur Glen Designer Outlet trades in surplus stock, and designer
goods retail at 50-75% of the RRP. Current retailers include Dolce and
Gabbana, Paul Smith and Armani.
Sports
Emperors Gym boasts state of the art cardio-vascular equipment and
fitness facilities, athletics classes, a large pool and private
parking. Thirsk Squash Club and Abbey Leisure Centre are just two more
of the city’s many sports and leisure centres.
There are three go-karting tracks in the city, but F1 Racing is the
only one with indoor facilities. The venue has a capacity of 200
people, a licensed bar and lounge, and TV, pool table and amusements.
Fulford Golf Club is one of nine courses in the city, and has hosted
tournaments such as The Benson and Hedges International and the Murphys
Cup. The club asks that players are members of clubs affiliated to the
Golfers’ Union.

Dating is a pretty tricky proposition these days. There was a time when men were just happy that a girl allowed them to talk to her. It now appears that men have slightly more exacting standards. A male friend of mine recently told me that he didn’t like women who wear nail varnish, women with long toenails (we are talking millimetres here), women who wear too much make up, women who don’t wear any make up at all, tights with open toed shoes or indeed tights at all and, very importantly, bikini lines have to be porn star perfect. He said all of this with his gut hanging over his trousers, a three-day old beard (not designer) and a spot the size of Cuba on his chin. On speaking to other men, it seems he is not alone in his way of thinking.

What struck me, apart from being guilty of one or two things on the list, is that whilst women are preening before a big night out, some of that preening appears unnecessary and is sometimes downright detrimental to the cause. Whilst we think that ruby red nail varnish is sexy and alluring, your date may be thinking that you are as common as muck, no matter what women’s glossies say about the colours of the season. On the other hand, he may not be at all impressed with your more relaxed approach to female body hair.

I was always under the impression, false it would seem, that men didn’t take much notice of the specifics of beauty. They knew if you looked nice or not, if they were attracted to you or not but they didn’t really realise the hard word that went on in the background. Unfortunately it would seem that they do notice when your eyebrows need some attention and your lip liner is a shade too dark. Scary. There also appears to be a fine line between well-groomed and over-groomed. Some men obviously prefer the more natural look. Unfortunately for us girls, the natural look actually takes longer to achieve than the polished look.

How did men get so fussy when, let’s face it, most of them are just ordinary looking? Only a handful of men have faces like Brad Pitt and even fewer have the torso. I look around at my friends on a night out in their new outfits, painted nails, glossy hair and then look at their men who have obviously found it an effort to put on a different top over the jeans they have been wearing all day. Are there really so few men out there that they can demand perfect partners whilst being so much less than perfect themselves?

Of course there are exceptions. Notably another friend of mine who showers and changes his clothes at least three times a day and goes to the barbers once a week, where the obliging stylist merely waves the scissors over his head without cutting a strand of hair for three out of four visits. If your own grooming habits are as exacting as this then you are fully justified in expecting the same perfection in your mate. But let’s be honest, when was the last time your man had any of his hairs ripped out at the root (on purpose) or spent an hour having hard skin sheared off his feet before feeling able to don his summer sandals?

Modern Man seems to be setting the bar so high that a girl has to be in a constant state of tweezer alert. And yet, what do we expect from them in return? To shower regularly, not to scratch their manly bits in polite company and not to dress like their dads. It hardly seems like equality to me. And how dare they complain when we spend so much time in the bathroom. The blame lies entirely with them. I would, of course, have pointed out the unfairness of the situation to my male friend but I had a fairly lengthy appointment at the beauty salon…

Instead of spending another night in with the girls discussing what men do and why, the author decided to go out and ask men directly. All Mouth All Trousers is a light-hearted account of both the research process and the results.

You may have heard a lot about debt consolidation and management and are not sure what plan with what company would be right for you in your situation. It may be difficult to determine which path to take when you are seeking to gain financial independence.

Debt consolidation usually involves an outright loan that allows you to pay off many of your other debts. It requires a very good credit score and sufficient income. Debt consolidation rarely is an option for paying off substantial amounts of debt unless you can secure the loan with your home or other valuable property.

One particularly helpful type of debt consolidation and management is called a debt management plan. These plans allow you to pay the debt management company in one consolidated payment each month. This payment then will be distributed in predetermined amounts between your creditors. Unlike some programs, you will still keep your original accounts with the creditors. However, you will be paying them through the debt management plan. Each month you will be able to see how your one payment is allowing you to steadily pay down your debt.

The debt management plan is a helpful type of debt consolidation because the debt management company can arrange for you to gain a reduction in interest and fees on your accounts. This allows you more of your money to be applied to the debt itself. Through this process, you should be able to pay off your debt in a much more reasonable amount of time.

You will want to make sure that you work with a company that can handle all of your unsecured debt. Also, if you find one that is nonprofit you will often pay less in fees. No matter what company you work with, you should double check that you will in fact be saving money by following the plan rather than by paying off your debt on your own.

When you are tired of seeing your credit card bills stay stagnant or rise, seek debt consolidation and management plans to gain a way out. With a little help, you will be back to financial security.

The Quest for a Literary Agent

Last year, and before the death of a loved one, a literary agent agreed to assess the merit of a copyrighted novel I wrote. Then again, maybe I should change the name of this story to: “Beware of Con Artists.”

The agency has a website together with loads of promotional material filled with so many satisfied writers and want-to-be authors, and it’s owned by a publishing company. Well, how lucky can I get? I sent the entire story to them as fast as I could.

About a week later I received a call from the secretary of the owner of that publishing group. The owner would call me at a mutually agreeable time within the following week. That’s fine with me, and a few days later I received the call.

I was told that I wrote a great story but it was too long and I needed a third voice. No problem for me. I bought a few of the books she wrote just to stay on friendly terms in spite of the fact that she wanted me to pay one of her writers $28,000 to rewrite my story. If someone else wrote my story it wouldn’t be mine. Right? Then again, according to her, some people earn six figure incomes using that method.

As the old saying goes: “If you give people enough rope sooner or later they’ll hang themselves.” I told her that I’d have to mortgage my house, and without a guarantee of publication, I couldn’t do such a risky thing. No problem, for $9,800 she would spend three days in a hotel room with me and together we’ll put the story together. Who thinks about writing when a beautiful woman is willing to share three days in a luxury hotel? Not me. I love women.

I said that I’d think about it, and she asked me to rewrite the first chapter using her suggestions. I did it her way even though I didn’t much care for the end result. To make a long story short, she called again and told me that my original version was better, and again pitched her writer deal. I told her that I’d work with any of her editors if she agreed to publish my story. It was her deal or no deal.

I asked a few questions and the answers I got clearly told me that she didn’t read my story. I might be dumb, but I’m not stupid.

Hiking with your children can be great experience for all of you, but it can also be miserable if you don’t prepare well. Stave off grouchy kids with this checklist:

  • Choose the trail carefully. Not all trails are appropriate for all ages, or all kids. A flat three-mile hike may be challenging but fun for your best friend’s six-year-old and too much for yours. Guidebooks will often provide some idea of a trail’s difficulty level, and park rangers are also a great source of information.
  • Bring extra water. Dehydrated children are grouchy children, and dehydration can be dangerous. Kids have a tendency to spill their water bottles, so be sure you have backups and remind them to drink water regularly.
  • Bring healthy snacks. Hungry children are also grouchy children, and kids (and adults) may not be able to make it all the way to lunch without food. Healthy snacks like dried fruit, granola bars, apples, little wax-wrapped cheeses and nuts will help keep kids going without complaint until lunchtime.
  • Make sure their boots are broken in. Blisters are a major cause of misery and whining on hiking trips. Ideally, your kid’s shoes or boots should be broken in before you leave. Tying boot laces either too loosely or too tightly can cause blisters, so ask the clerk at the outdoor store how to tie the laces when you buy the boots.
  • Prepare for the weather. Weather can be unpredictable, so bring rain gear, sweaters, hats and sunscreen. You don’t want cold or sunburned kids.
  • Don’t forget the First Aid kit. Despite your best efforts, blisters, scrapes, and bug bites will inevitably happen. A small First Aid kit with items like moleskin, athletic tape, antibacterial ointment, bug bite lotion, band-aids and tweezers will help you deal with most problems.
  • Know what to do in an emergency. Find out before you leave: will your cell phone work? How close is the nearest ranger station if you’re hiking in a park? What should you do if your child has a severe allergic reaction? Talk to your child’s doctor if your child has special medical concerns.

Hiking with your kids can create unforgettable memories for everyone. Make sure those memories are the good kind of “unforgettable” and prepare well.

Many anglers overlook the phases of the moon and the way that these phases affect the behavior of the fish. It’s free and easy to pay a little bit of attention to the phases of the moon and then use this information to your advantage. In this article I’m going to discuss a little about this subject, so you have a better understanding of how you can use the moon to your advantage when it comes to fishing.

Understanding how fish adapt to changes in their environment allows an angler to better predict a fishes’ movement and feeding. Finding out when a fish is feeding is what we’re interested in, because that’s when you have the best chance of catching said fish. You may know that almost all saltwater fishermen check the tides before they head out fishing. And it’s a great strategy because the tides do impact fishing, especially saltwater fishing. You do realize what causes the tides to change, don’t you? That’s right, the moon. The gravitational pull of the moon not only impacts the changing tides but is also pushing against some part of the earth at all times. Since water is more easily moved than the ground, water is lifted up towards the moon causing the tides to change. How high the high tide will rise, and how low the low tide may go is largely determined by the position of the moon.

The actual period of this entire cycle is 29.5 days. The cause of the phases below relate to the positions of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. The problem with many of the moon phase charts, which can be found in any hunting and fishing magazine, is the fact that they overcomplicate all of this stuff and make you feel as if you have to have an engineering degree from Harvard to use them! Most anglers rarely find any consistent correlation to their success in these magazines. I’m going to show you how simple all of this information can really be, once you understand it.

The 2 phases of the moon that we as anglers really need to concern ourselves with is the New Moon and the Full Moon. The New Moon phase is when the moon isn’t actually visible, and the Full Moon is well a full moon (when the moon is entirely visible). The most important times are the three to four day period that coincides with either the Full or New Moon. That is, the three to four day period around which these two phases of the Moon occur. These are the 2 times during the month when the fish will be most active.

This article gives you a very basic understanding of the phases of the moon and how those phases affect fishing, although it’s definitely enough information to get you started. Not only started, but catching more fish as well. Simply focusing your fishing efforts on the three or four days around which either a full or new moon occur will have a dramatic effect on your catch rates.

Asbestos Claims - History, Symptoms And Compensation

Asbestos was once regarded as a wonder substance due to its heat resistant properties. It was, therefore, a widely used material, particularly from the 1930’s - 1980’s and exposure still continues wherever it is disturbed / removed.

The cost of asbestos claims in the UK could reach £20 billion in the next 30 years.

Claims can be made by Claimants, even though the exposure was 30 or more years ago, and the past employer(s) has gone out of business.

Claims can also be made for deceased Claimants on behalf of their loved ones/estate.

Successful ’secondary’ claims for Asbestos exposure have been made by spouses, children and grandchildren, after they were exposed to harmful fibres on work clothes worn home.

The compensation obtained can, in many cases, amount to well in excess of £100,000, depending upon the severity of the particular disease.

Asbestos has no respect for socio-economic group or occupation. There are over 1,000 new cases of Mesothelioma reported every year in the UK. It is generally accepted asbestos is the cause.

The types of occupation where exposure can be found/occur include the following:-

  • Asbestos Cement Products Industry (used for strong, inexpensive building materials, eg tiles, corrugated roofing, gutters, water and drain pipes, chimneys etc.
  • Floor tiling industry
  • Insulation and Fire Proofing
  • Carpenters
  • Electricians
  • Power Plant Works
  • Plumbers
  • Roofers
  • Central Heating and/or air conditioning contractors
  • School and Hospital workers
  • Ship workers

Symptoms can include breathlessness and persistent coughing which may cause sleepless nights leading to fatigue. Some sufferers report chest pain and feeling as though a heavy weight is pressing down on their chest, depending upon the particular condition.

There are a number of state benefits available to victims and their carers. A specialist Solicitor can not only pursue compensation claims for sufferers on a true No Win, No Fee basis, but also provide advice and assistance with applications in order to maximise benefit entitlement.

Andrew Bowen is the Managing Director of National Injury Claims - A specialist company helping people claims compensation for personal injury and industrial related illness.

Unfortunately it took a recent recall to underscore the importance of your choosing the best foods for your pets. Hopefully the contamination was an accident, but since the source appears to be from a Chinese supplier, the distance and country relationships make for a difficult and lengthy conclusion to this matter.

The seriousness of this emphasizes the need to know what makes up your pet’s food. I have written about this before, but the information bears repeating. Do you know where most raw materials for pet foods come from? Rendering plants do a service as a way to dispose of 4D animals (Dead, dying, diseased or disabled). Many of their animals come from road kill, pounds (pets that have euthanized), milk and meat producers. Out dated products come from supermarkets and stores.

The service provided is a necessary one, but much of the raw material is questionable: A chemical named Sodium Pentobarbital is used to euthanize animals. This chemical residue does not break down completely, or even partially, in the short rendering process and remains within the tissues, blood, etc. of the carcasses used to produce pet foods. You may be feeding this toxin even if you purchase “Premium” pet foods.

The AAFCO (Association of American Food Control Officials) issues guidelines for pet food production.
Their acceptable list goes: Livers infested with worms or with cirrhosis, lungs filled with pneumonia, abscesses or cancerous material. This is not the total list.

Los Angeles alone sends 200 tons of euthanized cats and dogs to rendering plants every month. Included collars, IDs, tags and plastic bags all of which for economic purposes are not removed, but ground and processed with the dead carcasses.

The question now is how can you acquire the necessary proper information?
Veterinarians try, but generally are not knowledgable about nutrition, because nutrition classes are an elective class. Even if the veterinarian has taken a class or two you must remember: The classes are taught by Pet Food Manufacturers Representatives! Who else has more eduction in pet foods, but with such a slanted view that they will promote their own as well as supply students with free pet food for their use. How much do you think their influence has on your veterinarian?

Dog food companies and the like, such as: Grocery Manufacturers of America, Natural Food Processors Association and the Pet Food Institute hire high powered lobbyists to influence law makers AGAINST new labeling requirements for pet foods. Try influencing your Senator or Rep against lobbyists.
Any reduction in labeling requirements or no change at all allows the manufacturers Bottom Line to increase!

If you use wise judgment in choosing or making your own pet foods you can lengthen your pet’s life and also make life happier and more comfortable for both of you.

Have you heard of the saying, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat?”
( no offence to cat lovers out there - I love them too ! ).
Well, the same thing is true when it comes to making money on ebay. Let’s start with
what is without doubt the cheapest way to get started.

Before you do anything, go and sign up for a Paypal account at www.paypal.com . Ebay own Paypal
and most buyers pay with it. Therefore as a seller, you’ll need to accept payment sent to you
by Paypal or you’ll be missing out on a lot of bidders.

Sell items you already own, that are taking up space. Put them up for sale on ebay. All
you need to do is sign up for an ebay seller account and write an advert for each thing.
Just write a compelling description of the item you are selling, including any faults with
it including the condition. Take some time to choose the appropriate category then list it.

I highly recommend that you get a picture of your item as well. Here’s how to do it: -

Borrow a digital camera or buy one. If you are going to be selling on there more than once,
then buying a digital camera is essential and a low-cost investment ( there are also other
ways of making money with that camera but I’ll leave that for the purpose of another article ).
Obviously borrowing a friends camera has no costs associated with it. Got the camera yet? Great,
now take pictures of each item you are going to sell. Take some time to choose an appropriate
background and reasonable lighting conditions. A picture can sell a product by itself, so
take your time getting this point right. You can find more about selling on ebay at http://www.ebayprofitsunleashed.com

Once you have all your pictures, upload them to your PC using a USB ready cable from your camera
to your PC. Save these pictures to your hard drive and then get to work listing each used item
you are going to sell. Make sure you select the basic gallery listing feature when advertising
your items. It’s a really low cost option that will display a thumbnail picture of your item
in the listings when people are looking through the various categories.

When you are listing your item there will be options to accept check and postal order. My advice
is for you to accept these as methods of payment as well, as the chances of a bounced check are
very low. You can also wait for checks to clear on more expensive items, so this is a no-brainer.
Accept check payments !

I would advise you to put the items on auction with low starting bids but at a bid price that
is acceptable to you. Don’t let your old guitar go for 2 bucks when it’s worth 200. On more expensive
items either start at a higher initial bidding price or set a reserve.

Many of us write for the Internet. That is we submit articles to services like ezinearticles.com and they make them available to surfers on the Internet. For example, this article is on writing, so if you put “how to write” in your search box, you will come up with this article and many more like it.

What, it didn’t come up? Darn!

To see the effectiveness of Internet article writing go to onthetopof.com and put “Taylor Jones the Hack Writer” in the search box. This is the site of the Internet’s Business Search Engine and Directory. You will see that there are about 15,400 articles referenced on that site. I sometimes use Taylor Jones the Hack Writer in articles where I don’t want folks, like the editors of ezineariticles.com editors, to take me seriously.

Now do the very same thing for “John T. Jones, Ph.D.” Now you will see that there are over 431,700 articles referenced. You will see that I write over a broad subject range. If you want to improve your marketing techniques or if you want to learn how to make dumplings, you will find it there.

This high Internet presence is why writers write for the Internet. If you look at the bottom of this article you will see a profile for John T. Jones, Ph.D. There is at least one website listed. My main site is www.tjbooks.com. There you can buy one of my novels, read a novelette that I wrote to demonstrate novel writing software, or go to one of my sites to buy a flagpole. In other words, some traffic is generated from writing for the Internet.

I’ve written over 400 articles for www.ezinearticles.com. Some articles are much more popular than others. Right now, the hits on an article I wrote about Anna Nicole Smith exceed those of other articles I wrote earlier than the Anna Nicole article. The reason is that Anna Nicole Smith has recently been a huge search item. There are almost 2,000,000 articles on the subject at www.onthetopof.com and over 12,000,000 pages at www.google.com

When you write an article for the Internet and put it up as a page on your server, you can add keywords in the meta file. You can also do that for the same article submitted through a service such as www.ezinearticles.com.

Which article version will get the most hits?

The one submitted to the article service because they have a tremendous number of hits each day, they promote your article, and Google loves them. So unless you have many visitors to your site, you will do much better by submitting to an article service.

Keywords

I don’t often write an article because of a popular keyword. I wrote the article about blonds who have died because I feel for these young people who have a desire for fame and then are killed or die tragically. I wrote, that like Marilyn Monroe, the scene would soon turn to murder for Anna Nicole, not that she was murdered but some more important reason must be the “real” cause of death.

If you are listening to the idiots on the news channels, you can see that is already happening. They could care less about Anna Nicole Smith. She was just a spark that passed by. They just want the “murder” story no matter who gets hurt.

So far, it has escalated to “possible criminal negligence” because Anna would not go to the hospital because of the media attention she would receive. “Nobody” forced her to go, so she died. Whoever that “nobody” was is “possibly guilty of criminal negligence” because the media says so.

That is why the choice of keywords is so important if you want article popularity. Today, if you wrote an article on Anna Nicole Smith and placed her name in the title of the article, in the content of the article, and the keyword entry, you would get a lot of readers.

I wrote an article about why David Letterman wears white socks. I think I called it Top Ten Reason David Letterman Wears White Socks.

David Letterman is a popular (but strange) man and the keyword “David Letterman” is very popular. If you put “David Letterman” in your Google search box, you will see over two million articles. “Jay Leno” brings almost that many. I have written a few articles giving new jokes to Leno.

I’m not particularly interested in article popularity per se. It give me a bigger thrill when some kind soul gives me 5 stars for an article. Then I know I gave that reader enjoyment (or hit a nerve) which is my main goal. If I write an article on an engineering or scientific subject I know that it will not have the popularity of an article on how to make enchiladas. But that is OK. Writers write, right?

I write for children and teens quite often. My articles are sometimes entitled UFO: Subject. I write about my imaginary and alien friends such as the sprite Xrytspet and Phontos the Last Chican-who is Big Foot to you. These articles turn out to be popular with adults who are just kids that have grown up. I know the kids will not go to my site and order a novel or flagpole. That is not why I’m writing.

If you put “UFO: Phontos the Last Chican” in Google, you will get 48 entries. If you put only “Phontos the Last Chican” in Google you will get 525 entries. You will see that some of these sources are references right to the article of that title but others will be to sites that have copied my article to their publication legally.

That brings up an important point. Over 5,000 publishers have reviewed my some 400 articles. Some of these have republished article in their ezines or on their web pages. When you write for an article service, you get a tremendous additional exposure bonus. Almost 200,000 folks have reviewed my articles directly. I don’t know how many have read the articles in ezines or on other web pages-but the number is significant.

You also will see is your search that some have stolen my title so that you will go to their irrelevant web page. I guess I could tell Google about this and get them de-listed, but who has time for that?

If you want to know where your article is copied, just put the title of the article in the Google search bar and you will see which web pages have copied it. You still will not know which ezines picked it up.

How to Find Keyword Popularity

I get an email once a week or so that gives me a list of the most popular current keywords. You can get the same list at http://tinyurl.com/2hzxfs (Word Tracker) by just signing up for the free Keyword Expert Newsletter. While you are there, take a tour of the site to see how keyword statistics are generated.

If you put the keywords “Most Popular Keywords’ in the Google Search box you will get almost 40 million entries. That is because this is a very important subject to internet users, especially the sellers. If you can find popular keywords not yet discovered by others, you can generate significant traffic to your site.

Last October, Anna Nicole Smith was Number 152 on the Word Tracker list. In December, she was not in the top 300. On February 20, 2007, she was Number 1. (She had died on February 8, 2007.) Today, Anna Nicole Smith is Number 49. That is still a very high popularity. When will she leave the top 300? That depends on the media.

Blogging and Pinging

When you write or update an article, you should put it on your blog. Set up your free blog site at www.blogspot.com or such service. Go to the actual URL for your article and put that URL in your blog as the reference URL.

Just putting the article blog on your blog site is not enough. Go to one of the free pinging services such as www.pingomatic.com and ping your blog to the world. Enter the title of the article and the URL of your blog. You can ping an article more than once.

You will be famous writer yet!
