Buying a home with bad credit seems like an impossible achievement to many of us. The assumption is that since your credit rating is below average due to various reasons, no lender will want to ‘touch’ you as far as buying your dream home is concerned.

While buying a home with bad credit may not be very advisable, it is now possible for people who never thought they could qualify for a mortgage to buy a home. Mortgage companies are businesses that need a constant flow of clients in order to survive. These companies now realize that they need to come to some kind of compromise in the area of credit scores or they stand to lose a good many potential customers. To increase their customer base, and therefore their income, mortgage companies have relented to some degree and now let people buy a home with bad credit.

Mortgage companies use your credit reports and rates to determine your credit-worthiness - the assumption is that if you’ve been able to take care of your debts in the past, then in all probability you’ll be able to take care of making the mortgage payments. When you have a bad credit rating, mortgage companies tend to be a little wary of you, and will usually penalize you by charging you higher interest rates, and loaning you a smaller amount of money than they would if you had a good enough credit rating.

To buy a home with bad credit, you need to meet some minimum criteria, which include evidence of a steady income for two years prior to your application, and some good showing on your credit report. The good showing could really be anything, including paying your utility bills regularly and on time - anything that will show the mortgage companies that you can and will make the payments when you say you will.

Of course, buying a home with bad credit will have its downside. As far as the mortgage company is concerned, you are a ‘risky’ investment, and they will do whatever they can to protect themselves against loss. This means that the interest rate that you will be paying will not be the prime rate as would be the case if you had a good credit rating. In actual fact, it will be well above the prime rate in most cases, depending on how bad the credit you have is.

You need not despair, though, since should you prove yourself to be worthy, the mortgage company may be willing to change the interest rate that you have. For instance if you have a low credit score right now and they give you the home, the interest rate is likely to be very high for about five years. At this point, you could approach the mortgage company and tell them that you have made every payment on time and the loan can then be refinanced to reflect a better interest rate.

Buying a home with bad credit is simply a matter of making certain that you can and will make the payments when you say you will. This is really the only thing that the mortgage companies are worried about. If you are willing to make the payments when you say you will and in the specified amount you will most likely get your house.

When deciding to buy a home with bad credit, it would help you to analyze the pros and cons of either buying the house right then, or deciding to wait a little longer while you clean up your credit report and improve your credit rating. However, at the end of the day, it will be your decision whether or not to buy your home with bad credit, given what you now know about the process.

If you remember the sonic boom of the early “faster-than-the-speed-of-sound” flights, then you may not be taken totally off-guard by the boom created across America during the “faster-than-you-can-say-hippie” employee shortages and knowledge loss expected to occur during the exodus of the baby boomers from the workforce. The start of what may be the largest demographic change to hit the American workforce began last year.

The first of the Baby Boomer generation turned 60 years old, and every seven seconds for the next eighteen years another baby boomer will turn 60. With approximately 83 million workers set to retire in the next decade, many employment experts warn that there may not be enough younger American workers to replace those who will retire and that even the massive productivity gains made in the past decade may not be enough to make up for the lost labor, talent, and knowledge base. In fact, by 2010, more than 25 percent of the U.S. working population will be at or near retirement age. The generation just behind them, the GenXers, with less than 54 million people, is 35 percent smaller.

Every industry will be impacted. For example, manufacturing already faces shortages of skilled workers in many sectors. This shortage will only intensify as the boomer generation of welders, tool and die makers, mechanics, and electricians begins retiring. The “2005 Skills Gap Report – A Survey of the American Manufacturing Workforce,” conducted by The National Association of Manufactures (NAM), Deloitte, and The Manufacturing Institute, states: “The picture that emerges is both more complex and more disturbing than in the past, because it exposes a broadening gap between the availability of skilled workers and the employee performance requirements of modern manufacturing.”

As companies compete to attract the best of the GenXers, manufacturing must overcome the “assembly line stereotype image” that the younger generations find so negative that there is a decreasing number of young people pursuing manufacturing careers. One positive action being taken is the campaign developed by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and The Manufacturing Institute, its research and education affiliate, to recruit young people by putting a more glamorous face on the industry. If you’re having, or anticipating, labor shortages, you might want to check out any campaigns being undertaken by associations in your industry.

The biggest problem facing everyone, however, is not the loss of warm bodies, but the loss of institutional knowledge. Peter Drucker, a renowned management thinker, calls the coming knowledge loss, “a hemorrhaging of workplace knowledge and knowledge-based experience at a time when such knowledge and experience is increasingly important to the American economy and to the organizations that comprise it.”

Why the uproar? Well, how much does your company value experience? Do you look for new employees with five years or ten years experience? Then consider these numbers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers estimates that the industry will lose 44 percent of its petroleum engineers between 2000 and 2010, a loss of 231,000 years of cumulative experience. That’s a lot of experience and knowledge from just one sector, and we can expect similar losses in every industry. Almost every expert agrees that now is the time to plan.

Some innovative companies have already begun programs to replace the talent and knowledge lost by the baby boomer exodus by identifying and documenting the knowledge and experience held by boomers before they exit the workplace. U.S. companies with a goal of building a post-boomer high-performance workforce may need to take a “long-term investment” view of the value of job-specific training, employee development, and knowledge documentation.

HOW TO SAVE MONEY
Saving money can be a very difficult task, especially for those that have a
hard time making ends meet. Featured below are some simple suggestions on how to
cut back on expenses, making it simpler for you and your family to put at least
a few dollars into savings every month. Remember, a penny saved is a penny
earned!

- Never spend more than what you earn. This may entail you altering your
existing way of life.
- Look to generate more income by either getting a second job and/or by asking
your existing employer for a raise.
- Put together a budget and stick to it!
- Resist the temptation of spending money just because you have it! This means
no buying on impulse! Or, buying items that you don’t need!
- Limit your credit card use to emergencies only.
- If you encompass significant credit card debt, think about seeking help from a
Consumer Credit Counseling agency.
- Are you still paying off your student loans? If you are, consider checking out
a student loan consolidation program.
- If you are a homeowner, consider refinancing your home loan to a reduced
interest rate.
- Do you have a car loan? Have you thought about refinancing?
- Once a year, you should compare your auto and homeowner’s insurance rates to
see if you can find plans offering the same type of coverage, at reduced rates.

- It should also become common practice to see if you can obtain a cheaper home
phone service for your local and long distance calling. Do the same with your
cell phone.
- When buying groceries, utilize coupons.
- When purchasing high-ticket items, i.e. electronics, wait for prices to go
down. You can also anticipate sale prices to occur during major holidays.
However, don’t buy products just because they are on sale!
- Instead of buying expensive brand names, check out inexpensive, lesser known
brands.
- If you are looking to purchase a new car, consider buying used. Familiarize
yourself with money saving advantages of buying a pre-owned car.
- Limit the amount of time you go out for lunch and dinner. You should also look
into buying gift certificates from the restaurants your like to frequent. It is
very common for restaurants to grant discounts on the cost of a meal when gift
certificates are utilized, i.e. 10% discount.
- Instead of paying the high cost associated with going to the movies, rent or
watch TV instead.
- Think about returning to college to so that you can further your education and
advance your career with a higher paying job.
- Developing some sort of hobby that will keep you busy, helping you avoid
spending. Try and find a hobby that will help generate income while doing it.

- Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. Not only are they bad for you,
they cost a lot of money.
- A diet should be considered if you are overweight. The benefit is two-fold:
save money on food and improve your health!
- Educate yourself by reading books related to managing money and being fiscally
responsible. You should also consider consulting with a financial advisor.
- Don’t fall into the trap of trying to ‘out-do’ your neighbors, friends or
family.
- Ride your bike to work and save money on gas.

These are 9 things every man should set a goal for. Look up the word “fit” in the dictionary. Does is say anywhere how much a man should be able to lift or how fast her should be able to run? No. So we can’t find a real definition of what fit means. Use this as your dictionary and get fit with us. Before you call yourself “in shape” try these rules. Any man can follow in the and if you can’t go all the way at first we’ll give you what you need to make it there. We say a fit man can bench press 1 1/2 of his body weight. Upper body strength for more then just the actually exercise. You’ll look good in a tank top, when that guy at the bar hits on your lady you’ll be able to throw his weight around.

You’ll never have to worry about him again. Lye down flat on a bench press machine, keeping your feet flat to the ground the entire time. Divide the heaviest weight you’ve lifted times your body weight.

Score: Less than 1.0: a little weak but we can fix this. 1.0-1.49: Ordinary, you’re not that bad off. 1.5 or more: You definitely know what’s going on.

You want to strengthen a muscle?

The key is to lift fats. Follow these for a few weeks and you’ll see how much you’ve improved.

*Take a weight that’s about 40% of what you can lift at one time. Do nine sets of three reps. Don’t forget to rest about 50-60 seconds between sets. Lower and raise the bar as fast as you can, changine your grip every three sets. Example :start at 16-20 then 20-24 inches apart.

*About three to four days after do three sets of flat, incline or decline barbell presses with the heaviest weight you can lift (six times).

*Press you head into the bench as you are lifting. Doing this will ensure that your spine is perfectly straight. Pushing your head into the bench activates neck extensors.

A man in shape can run a mile and a half in 11 minutes. Your body’s ability to give oxygen to your working muscles shows that you’re in peak performance. Doing exercises regularly (running) lowers your cholesterol and keeps your body fat to a minimum. This is good for prevention of heart disease. Run a mile and a half as fast as you can (try to keep on the flat surfaces) If you’re trying to achieve aerobic capacity you need to be able to run long and fast.Follow these tips for 6-10 weeks and you’ll improve your endurance up to 30%.

*If you need to walk that’s okay. Every Sunday take a 40-60 minute run. Make sure that you never feel winded at any time. Like I said you can walk.

*On Tuesday do 4-6 half mile intervals at your won pace. Set a goal. If your goal is to run this in 10 minutes, each interval should be 3 minutes and 20 seconds.Don’t forget to rest in-between.

*Thursday do 4-6 up hill runs. Run at a good pace. Take two minutes to rest in-between intervals. For the last interval jog for about 10-15 minutes.

*Split the distance into four 600-yard intervals and run them at a pace that’s 10 percent faster than your 11/2-mile pace, resting 1 minute after each.

A man in shape can be able to give a good leap forward. This shows lower body strength and speed. This is good for when you’re trying to steal base etc…A man that’s in shape should score high for a vertical jump. Grab a piece of chalk when doing this, chalk you fingers and stand flat footed against a wall, Put your chalked fingers as high as you can up the wall and mark it. Without taking a step, dip your knees and swing your arms and jump. The distance between the two marks is your vertical distance. Score:20 inches or less: You’re not jumping far enough to lift off the ground. Between 20 and 26 inches: Not too bad but you have room for improvement. Higher than 26 inches: Great job.
*If you want to jump higher you’ll have to practice it.

*Stand on something that’s about 12″ off the ground and step off the box. The minute your feet touch the ground jump as high as you can. Keep repeating this about 5 times.
*Do four more sets, rest 30 seconds between sets.

*Never use your first jump to score. You’re just getting started. When it comes to strength, your lower half is your better half. Your butt and leg muscles are the root of your body. You need your lower half for almost everything. Get in position in the leg press machine, lower the weight until your legs are bent about 90 degrees then push the weight back up. To figure out your score divide the highest amount of weight you’ve lifted times your body weight. Score: Less than 1.8: Not very sturdy. 1.8 to 2.2: Not too bad but you can do much better. More than 2.2: Nice leg power, keep it up. Want stronger legs in three weeks? Try this.

* Use a weight that’s about 95 percent of the amount you lifted when you first tried. Do 10 sets of one rep, rest for 80 seconds after each set.

*This should be done at least two times a week, and every time you do it take away 10 seconds out of your resting period. period . When your rest period is down to 30 seconds, retake the test and use more weight.

* Before you take the test do a leg press with 20% more weight than what you think you can lift. Lower the weight only halfway before pushing it back up. When doing this your muscles will be expecting a heavier weight. It’ll seem a lot easier and you’ll be able to lift more.

Swimming is a great workout. It needs aerobic capacity and upper body muscle. Swim as much as you can in 12 minutes. Your total distance in yards will be your score. Less than 500 yards: You’re drowning. 500-700 yards: Good but room for improvement. More than 700 yards: Go fishy! There’s only about 2 out of 100 people that can swim a quarter mile without stopping. Thats probably because they have poor form and this can greatly affect the way you’re swimming.

*Always keep your head straight with your body. *When breathing, I know this sounds weird but breath from your belly button and roll. Don’t change the position of your head. You’ll float better and use less energy. This way you’ll be able to swim more. * Swim 25 yards to practice your form. Begin swimming a total of 200 yards every time you practice. Eight 25 yard intervals. yards Each week add 50 yards until you’re swimming at least 500 yards. Bring on 25 more intervals every two weeks, until you can to swim the entire distance without stopping.

How does 40 push ups sound? Tough? Pushups measure upper-body strength .Do you think you can drop right now and do 40 push ups? Try it and see how you do. If you can do this when you really need your upper body strength you’ll have it. Get you body on the floor and make sure your arms are parallel to the floor and you shoulders. Start to push yourself up and do this as many times as your body will let you. Score 25 or fewer: not tough enough bud. 26-39: Not too bad but also not too good. 40 or more: Nice bod keep up the good work.

Building an upper body. * Do sets of half the number of pushups that you just did. Rest 60 seconds between sets. When you’ve done a total of 40 pushups. Example: if you did 12 pushups in the test, you’ll need to do seven sets of six pushups.

* Each time you work your upper body do it every four days. Take off 5 seconds from the rest interval. After 12 sessions of this you’ll be able to do 40 pushups without resting.
*Time how long it takes you to do as many pushups as you can. Then rest for the same amount of time. Repeat this two to four times. You’ll improve your upper-body strength fast.

What does your belly look like?

If your belly is growing faster than your kids you have big problems. More fat you have in your belly the greater risk you’re at for heart disease. We want you to be a man that’s in shape you won’t get heart disease. The easiest way to figure your risk level is to do a comparison of your waist and hip measurements. Get a measuring tape and measure your waist at the narrowest point. Measure the distance around the widest part of your butt and hips. Divide your waist measurement by your hip circumference to find out your risk level. Score 0.92 or higher: You’re not doing too well. 0.82 to 0.91: Not bad but room for improvement. 0.81 or less: Good going Arnold.

To lose this extra weight you will have to exercise and eat good foods Which probably mean you’ll have to go on a diet. Try this, take 250 calories out everyday and burn away 250 calories a day with exercise. That’s 500 calories in one day. You’re going to do great! 250 calories is about the same as a 355 ml can of Coke and two handfuls of chips. If you want to burn the same number of calories through exercise, try lifting weights for 30 minutes, walk 2 1/2 miles, whatever you’re doing it has to get your heart rate up above normal. Only allow so much inside you. Watch your carbohydrates. Which you eat after 5 p.m. As the day goes on your body will store what you eat and turn it into fat.

Whether you’re chasing a man who has robbed an elderly lady or running just because you want to see how fast you can go, every now and then a man just needs to test himself. Is it possible for you to do 300 yards in 60 seconds? If so, you have the speed you need for about anything. Run as fast as you can. Do this 6 times, for a total of 300 yards. Score More than 70 seconds: Way too slow bud. 60 to 70 seconds: Keep trying you’re on the road for improvement. Less than 60 seconds: Fast as lightning.

*Run at 85% of everything you’ve got for 1 minute. *Then run at a lower pace, maybe 40% of everything you’ve got. Alternate between speeds for about 20 minutes. *Try this on a hill to get even better results.

Run as hard as you can each time you push off the line for your first three steps. Run though the middle area of each 25 yard run. Try and keep the same speed you gained from your sprint. This will help your speed alot. Beginning and stopping parts of the run are where most guys give up. Getting started is the hardest part and is much more.
We’re not telling you to be a gymnast but you do need to be a bit flexible. even to tie your shows. If tying your shoes is already a problem for you listen up. Flexible muscles will help keep you moving at whatever it is your doing. Research shows from the ages 35-50, an average man’s flexibility has gone down by 25 %. Without flexible muscles you can be heading into a bit of trouble. Here’s some tips to help you make yourself a bit more flexible.

*Measure out 15 inches on the floor. *Sit down with your legs out in front of you and have your heels at the edge of the tape. *Place both hands on top of one another and reach towards your feet. Reach as far as you can without bending your legs. The score will be set by if you reached your feet or not.

Score Less than 15 inches: You’re in need of some yoga. 15 to 17 inches: Room for improvement. More than 17 inches: You’re great at this. Show me more little gymnast!
Completely relax yourself and your muscles will be more receptive to being stretched.

*Put your left leg on a step or whatever is near you that’s almost as high as your waist. Have your leg straight and lean forward, as far as you can go and still being comfortable.

*Keep leaning as you’re bending your knee, push the heel of your foot into the bench for 10 seconds. Relax and put your leg straight. Just from doing this every few days you’ll be able to lean forward more then when you first started. than when you started. When doing this try and hold the position for 20-30 seconds.

*Do this three times. Going forward more each time.

* Always do a few little stretch before any exercise. Stand and put the heel of you foot on top of a ball. Have your leg straight and have them out in front of you. Don’t move your body but try and move your foot in a circle motion. This will relax your leg muscles.
It’s been told that a man that’s in shape can throw a basket ball 75 feet from his knees. Here is why this is important, throwing for a certain distance measures all of your upper body strength. A man in shape should have a strong arm. Not just to throw a ball but also to kick some ass if he ever need to.

Kneel on the court and throw the basketball overhand as far and as hard as you can.

Score Less than 60 feet: I think you need a new arm. 60 to 74 feet: Need improvement but okay. More than 74 feet: You’re on fire!
Tips on how to make your upper half strong. Try doing some single arm presses .This will improve upper-body speed and strength.

*Get a dumbbell with a grip on it and hold it in your left right hand.

*Stand with your feet parallel to you shoulders have your knees bent just a bit. Pull that dumbbell right up in the air and bent your knees a bit. Then get back up.

*When pulling up move the weight in an arc over your upper arm until the dumbbell rests on the top of your shoulder. Make sure your upper arm is still parallel to the floor. Bent your knees again and go. * Push the weight over your shoulders until your arm is fully straightened. Start again but switch arms.

*Do this two days week and rest for three days. Do three sets of four reps with a heavy weight in one of the workouts. Do eight sets of one repetition with a much lighter weight(30 % of the heaviest weight you can lift in the other arm.) *Try throwing the ball on a 40- 45 degree angle.

Ringgggggg…

“Good morning…”

“This is Mrs. Olsen. You need to come get your cat out of my garden!”

“Excuse me?”

“I said, you need to come get your cat out of my garden. I don’t want him crapping all over the place!”

“I’m afraid you’re mistake…”

“I want him out now!”

“But we don’t have a cat.”

“Don’t lie to me! I know it’s your cat and I want him out of my garden!”

“Seriously, we have a dog but we don’t have a cat.”

“Yes you do - and it’s in my garden and I want him out of there!”

“Ma’am… we do NOT own a cat!”

“Damnit! I just hate people like you!”

Click…

Poor Mrs. Olsen. I don’t know if she was just so frustrated by a cat being in her garden that she dialed the wrong number and didn’t realize it - or if she really believed that it honestly was our cat. Whatever the reason, it was never mentioned again.

This event really did happen many years ago but I’ve never forgotten it. It’s not that I’m still holding anything against Mrs. Olsen for being a butt-head. No, I’ve remembered the situation because it provided a very good lesson. The lesson is this. We should never be so sure that what we believe is fact - the absolute one hundred percent truth - that we close our minds to all other possible explanations.

Our “truths” are nothing more than our personal opinions - our perceptions and interpretations of situations, events or information that we have accumulated over the years. They may bear some resemblance to reality (if there is such a thing…) or they may not.

One of the nicest things we can do for ourselves as we go through life is to keep an open mind about the information and events that we are exposed to. Listen to the other side of the story, look for alternative explanations and try to understand the reasoning for another’s perceptions and opinions. Develop a willingness to replace or modify those personal “truths” that are no longer useful or beneficial to you. Doing this will help each of us grow as a person, as a spiritual being and as a member of society. Cool…

How many times a year do you hear this from your well-meaning (?)
family and friends:

“Oh! You are so LUCKY to be self-employed! You have no idea what I put up with everyday at the office (or the store, or the school or the loading dock - fill in the appropriate phrase).”

Hey! Guess what? I DO have a very good idea of what you are putting up with everyday. It’s WHY I am self-employed now. I still put up with a lot of the same stuff everyday - it’s just that now, I have the luxury of deciding how to deal with it myself, instead of being TOLD how to handle the situation.

But most importantly - LUCK has nothing to do with the fact that I am self-employed and you are still in that office (or store or loading dock or whatever). You see, being self-employed means taking risks, and working your tail off -sometimes for a LONG time - before you see any reward.

Being self-employed means that I don’t get a paycheck from anyone every Friday, no one else contributes to my health insurance or my pension fund, no paid two week vacation, no sick days and believe me - no paid holidays.

And chances are - I am still working every evening while you are watching Desperate Housewives and voting for the next American Idol.

No, being lucky and being self-employed have very little to do with each other. I took a lot of very big risks to get here, and have had more than my share of the 3 am “heebie-jeebies”, wondering if I did the right thing - but I will never return to a “job” again!

I will be the first to admit that I still put in some long hours - but it’s my choice. I love what I do now, I only set the alarm clock if I need to catch a plane, and my income grows daily - whether I am on vacation or sitting in front of the computer. I work hard, and I play hard, and life is very, very good.

I work from home, I set my own hours, and I control my income. No store to open, no products to ship, no boss hanging over my shoulder!

Thanks to the internet, my dream of a portable business with multiple streams of income is now my reality, and my reality is a wonderful and rewarding way of life - both emotionally and financially.

There is an old proverb (I think it is Chinese) that goes something like this: “the harder I work - the luckier I get”

Can you do the same thing - break out of your rut and join the ranks of those “lucky to be self-employed” folks? You bet - virtually anyone can - it just takes the courage to look beyond where you are today and the willingness to create your own luck!

The Case For Handwriting Analysis

BASIS

Everything in the Universe is scientifically based and is associated with some mathematical and/or other scientific law or principle whether realized or not. Einstein’s famous energy equation was true eons ago but only in the last century was it developed, recognized, and proven. The laws of gravity, the relationships of the pendulum, geometry, the principles of electric current and so many, many more repeatable laws and principles, known, and yet unknown, are inescapable influences to which we are involuntarily held accountable. These and other laws and principles must be recognized and obeyed for not to do so could be direly consequential.

Every move we make is according to the known and unknown laws of nature. Every one. Yet, we tend to take these laws for granted and never realize their scientific basis. Even the seeming absence of a scientific principle is not an absence at all. For instance, consider a perfectly spinning top the mass of which is symmetrical. Now consider a similar top with an asymmetrical mass, which wobbles and collapses. Yet, in space, both would spin unerringly due to zero gravity. In each case, the top is affected or not by the influences of construction and environment. Everything in the universe is affected in some manner by repeatable (scientific) principles including, without question, the execution of handwriting.

HANDWRITING

Once we know that handwriting is the result of a scientifically based organized system we can analyze this “system” and determine its nature just as investigators have the other sciences. There is no difference. This is sometimes very difficult to realize yet it is true. The Universe, although seemingly chaotic and unorganized, is quite the opposite. It is the scientific principles which are the constants, virtually invisible and “hold” or influence the relationships in the Universe. By realizing this, we gain insight into the scientific nature of handwriting.

Although many people consider humans as special and, in some manner, not vulnerable to these laws and principles nothing could be further from the truth. Our beings are scientifically based and inextricably connected to these laws and principles including our brains. The brain is the central control for everything happening to maintain our lives. It is also the location of our personalities. The functioning of the brain is in a constant state of change in order to maintain life because of the constant need for bodily adjustments due to internal and external environmental impacts. There is an incredible amount of activity occurring in our brain (mostly subconscious) at any given time and 100% of it is used otherwise it would not be needed and would have been discarded by nature long ago.

Handwriting “catches” the resulting “image” of the brain’s adjustment activity at any time during the writing activity yet maintains a certain ‘character’. That is why people say “my writing changes”, even under normal circumstances, although it could drastically “change” due to other causes. Yet these changes, whether normal or otherwise, are caused by initiatives such as words, the environment, emotions, the act of thinking, the chemistry of drugs, alcohol and the like.

That this activity occurs by accident is an insult to investigative intelligence. In other words, it’s all about the brain and its control of everything including handwriting according to the laws and principles of the Universe.

LOGIC

The normally functioning BRAIN is a scientifically based, organized system of repeatable functions called logic. If not so, how could the sciences have been developed? Or, anything, for that matter? Briefly stated: Without this system we simply could not make a single decision nor be capable of function.

When we think, we are constantly making decisions (logic), however minor, either consciously or subconsciously. Moving one’s hand. Looking one way vs. another. Deciding what car to buy. What time it is. And, the other thousands of decisions made each day. This functioning can be thought of as a process of zeros and ones (yes and no) just like the operation of a computer for the computer is simply a manifestation or “copy” of our brain system.

Therefore, the act of writing must also be scientifically based because it emanates from a system that is scientifically based with normal genetic development. We also know that handwriting results from brain direction not hand direction. The hand/fingers (and their connections to the brain) are simply conductors of directives from the brain. Foot, mouth or other means, could also accomplish writing.

REPEATABLE

There are only two movements possible when handwriting: a straight line or a curve. Period. In fact, the whole universe exists in this manner. Just look around you. Everything is either a straight-line form or a curved form or a combination, parts of which are one or the other. And, that is a scientific principle because it is always repeatable no matter where, no matter when. And, of course, this is true of handwriting. Repeatable in it’s operating system, not in the sense that the writing looks exactly the same each time.

When one considers the presented concepts thoroughly, the only conclusion that can be made is that handwriting is scientifically based. Consequently, being the emanating location of our personalities, the brain, through handwriting, unerringly demonstrates its nature to us DIRECTLY as opposed to second-guessed psychological testing or any other system of personality evaluation. Handwriting analysis, on the other hand, is not scientifically based directly as it requires observation, consideration, testing, and conclusion. In fact, no scientific opinion is scientifically based. Only the science involved is scientifically based, NOT the opinion for the opinion comes from the thinking process which must consider many variables, is subject to errors and usually concludes in varied results from different investigators. Opinions do not have a repeatable nature without thorough, repeatable testing results. (See note 1) But all sciences are subject to this process.

Handwriting analysis is the most powerful psychological tool available for human assessment whether for development or the aiding of the troubled. It is an essential tool for human assistance.

HANDWRITING ANALYSIS

Handwriting analysis (as opposed to the act of handwriting/printing) is the study and evaluation of handwriting. Its development and education requires and has required years of observation, experimentation, analysis, conclusion and documentation in the forms of books, papers and presentations and more. As in the study of any other scientific endeavor over time, some conclusions may be challenged, discussions continued, errors made, corrections established. This process is normal and, although the “gross” observations over time have been processed through the logic systems of many investigators, some philosophical conflicts still exist. Again, this is normal. But, through it all, more and more refinement and understanding progresses. Certainly we presently are far beyond the early studies in understanding more of what the elements of handwriting represent.

CONCLUSION

The main point is that handwriting analysis has progressed through a long process of potentially error-prone human logic and evaluation (just like any other science has) and we can discern its principles just like any other science. Handwriting analysis investigators through the ages have established many principles, which have survived the test of time which, after all, is the most important test.

Does this mean all testing and validating work is over? Certainly not. But validating handwriting analysis to the satisfaction of all is a monumental task. But that is what we must eventually accomplish.

Note 1. Here we are not talking about DNA testing, for instance, which has a high degree of reliability through repeatable testing. DNA testing has proceeded through a long process of validation. By itself, DNA is scientifically based but required experiments, testing, validation, and acceptance. There is a great difference between the “act” itself and the “information” derived from the “act”. The first is scientifically based and the other must be processed through the collective human brain and this is true of all sciences including the case for handwriting analysis.

Container gardening is for many people that think that their gardening days are over when they move to an apartment or condo. You can still grow pretty and useful plants if you opt for a container garden. There are a few rules you will have to follow when starting your container garden. The five elements that are crucial to your container garden are the pot (size for each individual plant), the soil, how much light your plants will need, watering requirements and fertilizer. For example herbs do not need big pots but they do need at least six hours of sunlight. Their fertilizing is minimal and they need good drainage in loose soil.

Choosing the right container is very important for you and your plants. You will want to choose a pot that is complementary to your home or outside patio and you also want to meet the needs of the plants. Cedar and redwood containers are rot resistant while other woods will rot. If you do choose to use wood pots make sure that they are not treated with harmful chemicals that will be detrimental to your plants. Do not use plastic pots in the sun; they will fall apart very quickly. Terra Cotta containers do not do well in the sunlight. They dry out quickly and have a tendency to crack and break. The best pots to use for your container garden on the patio are glazed ceramic pots. These are pretty and colorful but make sure there are plenty of drainage holes.

For soil that is completely dependent on what kind of plants you plan to grow. Remember you are going to be growing your garden in limited space so make sure that the soil will drain sufficiently. The key here is to have a soil mixture that will retain moisture put has adequate drainage as not to drown the roots. A little bit of research into the type of plant you are growing should tell you each individual plants needs. For instance some plants may require a little sand be added to the mix. In container gardening getting all the components right is absolutely necessary for your success.

Another aspect of your research is to know how much light your plants need. All plants have different light levels. For instance, impatiens do well in the shade while vegetables and flowers thrive in the sunlight.

Fertilizing is a most important aspect of container gardening. When a plant is in a container it only has a small amount of soil to draw nutrients from so you will have to give it a little help. To be consistent it is advised to fertilize on every other watering. Don’t just use one fertilizer; a mix of nutrients will keep your plants happy and healthy.

Watering a container garden should be your utmost concern. It will take time to determine the right schedule for the individual plants since they all have different needs. If you are having an extremely hot spell it will be necessary to water everyday.

You will be surprised how rewarding container gardening will be for you. It allows city folk to experience a bit of the outdoors in limited space. Once you have researched and decided what type of plants to grow your next step is to gather the necessary materials and plant your container garden. You will reap your rewards when you use your fresh herbs or vegetables in your next dish or you cut beautiful flowers to adorn your home.

Happy Container Gardening!

No, no, I’m not referring to you. I personally don’t feel that anyone on this planet is an “idiot” - although it seems there may be a few of us cruising through life a few French fries short of a Happy Meal. But that’s the way life is. We can only play the cards we’re dealt and that’s OK.

The title of this piece is not intended to be a personal slam against anyone. Instead, it is basically a three-word synopsis of several of the comments posted to a blog I recently read. That concerns me.

In my opinion, it was a pretty good blog. It was well written, insightful and overall provided brief discussions of several things worth thinking about. There was only one small section that seemed to raise the hackles of a few of the readers. As a result, some of the postings weren’t very nice and instead of making an observation related to the blog, they were directed more at the blogger’s “stupidity”, audacity and lack of sensitivity. The “You’re an Idiot!” lights were flashing red.

I understand that every single person in the entire world has a reason for thinking, believing and acting as they do. I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinions - about anything - no matter how widely their opinions may differ from mine. I also understand that we are extremely fortunate to live in a society that allows us to express our thoughts and opinions freely - including unkind posts in the comments section of a blog.

I understand, and yet it concerns me. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned or maybe it has something to do with the way I was raised. At a very young age I was taught that we should be nice to the people we’re around - that we should be polite and never say mean things to other people. Mom took it a step further when she pointed out that “If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.” I’ve slipped up on this last part more than a few times in my life and for that I’m truly sorry. I’m doing much better at it now that I’ve figured out that it was genuinely top quality advice.

I guess what concerns me most is not the effect of the put-downs or the demeaning comments on the individual they are directed toward, but more the effect these types of comments are having on the individual that made them in the first place. The way I see it, whenever we verbalize negativity - or even think it in the first place - it tends to reinforce the negativity that is already present in our lives. If we keep doing that, the little not-so-positive cloud that we started out with could turn into a giant negative thunderstorm that might just have the potential to wash many of our hopes and dreams right down the drain.

It’s pretty simple actually. Negative thoughts and comments will produce more negatives both in our words and in our actions. On the other hand, positive thoughts and comments will produce more positives in our lives. It’s just the way it works. So just as a suggestion, before you launch a slap-face verbal missile toward another person, stop and think about how you might be adversely affecting you and your life. You’ll know what you should do…
