Some Tips On Decorating With Rustic Décor

Every person has terms they use to talk about home decor. Country, Colonial, Early Americana, contemporary, etc., each term is dedicated to its own style. The one term that is lost in the shuffle of decorating is “rustic decor”. When people think rustic decor! They think of the log cabin, an old farm house, items that looked aged. All those things are very rustic and they are sure to make one feel that they are in a rustic living quarters, however many other styles of rustic decor are an option.

Using rustic items around the home or you cabin adds a great deal of warmth to ones heart. Rustic items can be used with many other decor designs such as country, contemporary, classic and in some cases the art deco look. You can rest assured that your rustic piece will add some warmth, charm and uniqueness to your decorating style.

Some of these tips might help you out when you are decorating with the rustic theme.
Rustic items are textural; you should add it in small amounts. A full room of rustic decor is a bit much to take in. By adding it in small amounts you allow each piece to stand out and shine. You can add a switch plate cover to blend in with a rustic lamp or you may want to group some rustic items around a fireplace. We have found placing some pine cones in an old pale works great for the rustic look by the fireplace.

Consider using rustic accent pieces around the house, such as a coffee table or an end table, mirrors, coat hooks, or other accessories in such rooms as a guest room or the bathroom. By using small accessories like this you are not committing yourself to an entire houseful of rustic items.
Try adding some rustic decor to your dinning table. In the form of candle holders, baskets or place a few pinecones in a basket for the center piece. If you can picture a nice dinner with a fire in the back round! You are on your way to a perfect back drop for rustic decor that you and your guests will love.

Let’s not forget about out doors as well. On your patio in the back or your front porch, both of these places also can be decorated in the rustic theme. For the seating you can use a log bench or an iron bench, these both look great if you have a vine plant around them. After all this type of bench will look better then the plastic ones we all see.
Decorating isn’t just about overhauling a home; it can also be about refreshing the small areas of your home. Chances are by adding some rustic decor to those areas will add charm and warmth to any style you choose. People are drawn to certain styles, and there is something to be said about rustic decor. You should always have fun with your rustic items. Incorporate your rustic touches to put and individual signature on your home.

Is using a blog for marketing a viable alternative to buying a domain and creating a fully fledged website? In this article I look at why using a blog for marketing can be just as effective provided you get the layout right and optimise the content.

Why use a blog

Blogs are both free and easy to set-up and are ideal if you are still testing the waters on a marketing campaign. Investing in a domain and web hosting not only has an initial cost but you are stuck with them if you choose incorrectly …and you need to know about Web design, etc.

For blogs, I use Blogger.com which is also ideal for beginners.

Setting up a blog as your marketing platform

Now, it is not the purpose of this article to show you how to create your very first blog account and I am not assuming you already have one or know how to do it either. The fact is, the process is so easy and Blogger.com take you through it in a 3 stage process. So, there is no point in me replicating that here…

However, before you set up your blog think very carefully about the Blog Title and Address

So, if your niche is ’sausage making’ select that for your title and address. So your blog will be ’sausagemaking@blogspot.com’ A relevant title and address are very important, so choose wisely. (If you make the ‘wrong’ choice or think of a better one later on you can always set up another blog.)

Creating an effective layout for your blog

In Blogger 2, it is now possible to add text elements other than actual Blog posts. So add at least two at the top of the blog to welcome people to your blog and describe its purpose. These will then remain static above your blog posts. It is very important here to add relevant text that contains your main niche keywords.

Add an opt-in form and display it prominently. If you don’t capture your leads you are missing an opportunity to make potential additional sales.

Add a links section. This will contain the links to your recommended products.

You can add as many elements as you wish but keep things as simple and relevant as you can.

Publish your blog and start adding some relevant posts. You can add articles, reviews, chat posts, anything you want. But keep it relevant to your topic and keywords at all times.

By following these simple steps you can make a blog look exactly like a landing page in a website with the added benefit of being able to easily add content in your blog posts. As such, using a blog for marketing can be just as effective as a website if not more so.

Cinco De Mayo, the 5th Of May, is recognized as a good reason to have a party in some parts of Mexico and the United States. Here are Cinco de Mayo Recipes that will all but guarantee a successful Cinco de Mayo Party!

It was May 5, 1862 when the Mexican militia defeated the French at Puebla, Mexico. This victory eventually led to the unifying of the Mexican people. This is not their day of independence, but rather a successful effort toward driving the French from their country. Mexico’s Independence Day is actually September 16.

Mexico and the U. S. are forever bound together, just as the U.S. is with our northern neighbor, Canada. Our people mingle, marry, have children, enjoy each others cultural roots, enhance each others knowledge and strengthen each others lives.

One of the things I thoroughly appreciate is the Hispanic influence in our culinary pursuits. How could we ever have not had salsas, guacamole and other dips, enchiladas, tacos, chili con queso, tamales, nachos, burritos, fajitas and quesadillas? To not have these as options on our table would be missing a real treat.

The mingling of cultures has led to completely new foods such as the famous and famously delicious “Tex-Mex” foods and “Cal-Mex” delights and “New-Mex” treats.

I am (not) sorry to admit it, but there are times when nothing else will satisfy but a delicious enchilada or taco. I’m just waiting for the day that medical researchers admit that hot chiles cure cancer - or something! How about you!?

Actually, there are no specific foods associated with celebrating Cinco de Mayo (May 5). But Mexican holidays or celebrations bring a number of delicious foods to our minds.

What do people eat in Mexico?

The variety of food available in Mexico is huge, with unique dishes for each region as you move from the north to the south, east to west, with many regional styles throughout, just as it is in America and, I suspect, throughout most of the world. There is no real official dish of Mexico. When asked, my hispanic friends just tell me everything is good. :-)

The corn tortilla is one food item that may be common throughout Mexico. Corn originates from Mexico and is still a main staple there, even though flour is becoming more and more popular. There are food stands everywhere in Mexico offering a variety of tacos, most still using corn tortillas. And corn tortillas are still made fresh daily in stores, bakeries and food stands in Mexico. So if Mexico did decide to have an official dish, it would probably be a corn tortilla taco.

Beef, chicken and pork dishes are popular throughout the Mexico, and of course fish is a main stay near Mexico’s long pacific and caribbean coasts. You’ll find vegetables of every kind and include the traditional beans, often served with rice. There is also a large variety of fresh salsas.

Think of your favorite Mexican-style recipes and beverages to celebrate the occasion. Some of the Cinco de Mayo Recipes on my website are most requested restaurant recipes all year long even though the drinks and dishes represent the Mexican and southwest cultures. These recipes for food and drink will all but guarantee you a successful, fulfilling Cinco de Mayo party.

5 Ways to Avoid Acting on Stupid Advice

You’ve heard that the path to the netherworld is paved with good intentions, haven’t you?

Right next to that observation should be a kindred one:

Before people experience major life and business reversals or they fail to step-up to the next level of success there is often a flawed tip, a bad piece of advice, or an incomplete or incompetent instruction that was whispered to the falling or stalling that they acted upon to their detriment.

One of the worst bits of advice I ever got was from an attorney who didn’t like a liability clause in the contract offered by a major production company, a division of an entertainment Goliath, interested in putting my seminar on video.

His concern, I later learned, was a non-risk really, something that fairly common insurance policies found in TV and film projects will protect a client against. But my lawyer didn’t know about it.

Between my attorney being clueless and the studio attorney being insistent, the deal went down in flames.

It’s hard to assess exactly how much that snafu cost me, though I know the contract price, even in today’s dollars, is respectable and attractive, surpassing any book advance I’ve received.

The royalties, prestige, and client generating power as well as the first-to-the-market, competitor-beating component of doing this project would put the overall value at, conservatively, a half-million to three million bucks, though the specific loss is incalculable.

I learned to be more proactive in protecting myself from inept advisers.

One way I did it was by putting myself through law school and through an MBA program, after I had already earned a Ph.D. in my regular field.

You don’t have to take such drastic measures.

Here are five ways to avoid similar, unfortunate and damaging outcomes when you’re getting advice from anyone: a lawyer, doctor, consultant, coach, teacher, trainer, or accountant or well-meaning relative:

(1)-Remember credibility and capabilities are SUBJECT SPECIFIC. The attorney I mentioned was first-rate in copyrights and trademarks, but he was the new guy on the set in an entertainment law context. No attorney or professional is up to date and savvy in every nook and cranny of their fields. Only work with them in their area of strength.

(2)-Don’t be a doctor’s first surgery. There is a reason med students practice on cadavers, dead people, because they’re dead, and no harm can be done. Still, if you can avoid it, you don’t want to be someone’s FIRST CASE, in medicine, law, accounting, or anything else.

(3)-Don’t be a professional’s LAST CASE, either. People at the end of careers are more interested in wheeling their grandkids to parks than preparing for your project. Another lawyer inadvertently confessed to me “I’ve come into the office less than half-time during this past summer.” Believe me, it delayed our progress on a time-sensitive matter.

(4)-Seek and get second and third opinions. Joel Edelman, author of THE TAO OF NEGOTIATION, and my Mediation professor in law school, notes that 95% of professionals are so incapable that he would not trust them with handling his personal or professional matters. His purpose isn’t to bash them, and neither is mine. Most are hard working, but anyone can be wrong on any given day, or too lazy to do his homework, to your detriment. Moreover, one attorney, upon hearing your story might detect only two issues in it, and the attorney in the next office would detect six, all of which require exploration. Second opinions are time consuming to get, and potentially costly, but they’re worth it.

(5)-Don’t let the “props” commonly associated with success daze you and make you suspend your healthy skepticism. Offices in the ritziest building in town are a sound investment because they symbolize success, but don’t let them lull you into thinking you hired “the best.” The first thing con men do is adorn themselves with the Rolexes and expensive suits and fancy leased cars. At the same time, low-overhead outfits aren’t always the most efficient or effective. The difference in actual costs may be higher to you if you resort to a bargain basement advisor.

The best of us can make mistakes in choosing consultants, coaches, and professionals and in evaluating their advice.

Follow these five tips and you’ll be more likely to act only on suggestions that will lead you to success.

How would it be to have access to over a million dollars in private money for real estate investing? That’s just what a good friend of mine stumbled into when he did a very simple thing… something you can do in an afternoon.

My friend, Jim, has been investing in real estate for several years. One day, after a family get together, he decided to let his family know about his investing. He had been pretty successful with small apartment buildings, so he decided to send out a simple postcard to all the members of his family, telling them to call him if they knew of anyone wanting to sell rental property.

Lo and behold, Jim got a call the very next week from an uncle he barely knew. The uncle didn’t know of any property for sale, but he expressed curiosity in what Jim was doing, so the two men made an appointment to get together for lunch.

At lunch, Jim explained his investing strategy, and outlined some of the successes he had enjoyed. He talked about the simple things in his business, like buying value, and looking for positive cash flow. He enjoyed talking about it, and Jim’s uncle seemed genuinely interested.

Then Jim got the surprise of his life.

As they were leaving, Jim’s uncle leaned into the car window and said, “Could you use a silent partner to help with the financing end of things?”

Jim says, “I think my heart skipped several beats before I answered.”

After Jim’s heart started again, he told his uncle he’d be happy to put his money to work. It turned out that Jim’s uncle was sitting on nearly $1,000,000 in liquid assets, assets Jim has used over and over again during the last few years to build a rental real estate empire.

The funny thing is, Jim didn’t set out to find relatives with money. He was just looking for some property, and along the way he found one of the greatest private lenders I’ve ever heard about.

What can we take away from this story? Well, you may not have a relative with anywhere near the available cash Jim’s uncle has, but the question is, how do you know? More importantly, how easy would it be to find out? My guess is, pretty easy. Could you find a creative way to ask, and let your family know what you’re doing? Of course you could!

If you want to do more deals, and find private money for real estate investing, one of the very first places you should look is in your own family. Make some calls, send out postcards or letters, get together for lunch… whatever you need to do to get the word out. You never know what might turn up, or who.

Think about this for a moment - Thousands and thousands of business decisions are made every day. Many of those business decisions can be and are deadly! And think how very difficult it is to avoid making some of those deadly decisions. Here are five examples of some of the most common deadly business decisions.

Deadly decision #1: One large customer or client Your business receives more that 50% of its gross revenues from just one client or customer.

How to avoid: Set a policy that no single client or customer will represent more than 10 to 15% of your cash flow. Diversify your client base to help your company prosper in the long term.

Deadly decision #2: No Market Research You create and launch a new product or service without adequate market research and testing first.

How to avoid: Do your market research and testing “up front” before anything else whenever you launch a new product or service.

Deadly decision #3: Insufficient capital Your business is significantly undercapitalized.

How to avoid: Use conservative projections and be sure to have as much capital as needed to get you through a sales cycle or another planned funding source.

Deadly decision #4: No strategic focus for the company Your business has no strategic plan and therefore no strategic focus. You pursue every opportunity for business instead of focusing your efforts in a strategic manner.

How to avoid: Engage in strategic thinking and planning. Develop a strategic plan and implement a strategic action plan.

Deadly decision #5: Create a business with equal partners Your business has equal partners (50/50; 33.33/33.33/33.33; 25/25/25/25, or some other split). This is almost a guarantee that there is a business disaster waiting to happen. Every one is in charge, so no one is in charge. No one has a final say. Decisions are made by consensus.

How to avoid: Someone must be in charge. Put someone in charge so they have the largest ownership share.

There are times when it seems so difficult to get any real information about suppliments. Have you ever wondered if there is a reason why? Maybe it’s because most companies don’t want you to know about quality control, research and manufacturing practices. One way to find out the quality of a supplement manufacturer is by how available the information is. Suppliment companies want to tell you what they do best. I want to share some information with you about what to look for in your supplements.

1.-Look for a supplement manufacturer that demands quality control 100% of the time

2.-Find a supplement that provides Phytonutrients - plant-based nutrients

3.-Locate a company that is using cutting-edge technology

4.-Connect with a nutrition coach

Quality

The supplements you choose must be fresh. The manufacturer of the product must be testing the product to be sure that the nutrients listed on the label are exactly what are inside the bottle. Also, look for a manufacturer that owns their farm and grows organically. Avoid synthetic supplements.

Phytonutrients

Phytonutrients are important because they play a crucial role in optimal health. Science has proven that plant-based food sources such as colorful plants, flowers, fruits, and seeds provide a full spectrum of nutritional support.

Cutting Edge Technology

The latest technology from science is teaching us that you can change how your genes behave by adding quality supplements to your diet. By choosing supplements that best match your own individual risks can actually “dim the switch” to disease.

Nutrition Coach

Connecting with a nutrition coach will save you time, money and aggravation. Engaging with a nutrition coach will allow you to tap into their experience and knowledge. You will then be able to immediately experience the benefits of a quality supplement without the stress.

Identify which machines are stand alone or network based. If the computer is network based then some of the data might reside on another machine. Below is a rule we follow when collecting evidence:

- On/Off Rule for Forensics data recovery and evidence gathering.
–If the device is “ON”, do NOT turn it “OFF”.
o-Turning it “OFF” could activate lockout feature.
o-Write down all information on display (photograph if possible).
o-Power down prior to transport (take any power supply cords present).
–If the device is “OFF”, leave it “OFF”.
o-Turning it on could alter evidence on device (same as computers).
o-Upon seizure get it to an expert as soon as possible or contact local service provider.
o-Make every effort to locate any instruction manuals pertaining to the device.

One of the key elements in every data forensics procedure is time. Users may unintentionally or inadvertently overwrite evidence simply by continuing to complete their daily tasks. Collecting and preserving data or evidence that may have been deleted or become inaccessible through normal computing methods is an important consideration. Determining what information needs to be gathered before hand is critical to a cases success or failure.

In nature, most waters are mineral waters because they contain minerals. In sales, on the other hand, every country has its own regulations to define which waters can be considered and sold as bottled mineral waters.

Generally speaking, mineral waters contain different kinds of minerals, trace elements and gases. Minerals in water give it its taste and sometimes therapeutic value. Often, natural mineral waters can be effervescent which means that in water dissolved gas is escaping from the liquid with fizz. When this is the case, water is sometimes called sparkling mineral water or natural sparkling water.

Mineral waters can also be created, by adding minerals and carbonation. Seltzer is any water with added carbon dioxide. Club soda usually also has minerals added in addition to carbonation. Both are filtered tap waters.

Researches on heart diseases and cancer show that healthy water is the one that is relatively hard and high in total dissolved solids (TDS). Distilling, de-ionization and reverse osmosis units remove during the purification process the harmful agents as well as beneficial minerals.

According to Dr. John Sorenson, leading authority in the area of mineral metabolism, “Minerals in drinking water are more easily and better absorbed than minerals from food.”

Minerals are essential in optimal mental and physical health but our body cannot make any. Wholesome foods, like fruits and vegetables, grown in rich soil containing all the nutritious minerals, are our best source, along with clean, hard water. Processed, hi-sugar and refined foods, caffeine and alcohol deplete body of its minerals.

Experts of course disagree about benefits of mineral water. One of the objectives is that minerals in water are not easily absorbed in the body. Also, the elements contained in every mineral spring water should be closely monitored for contaminants like asbestos and uranium. Unfortunately, the existing labeling on water bottles does not yet give enough information to consumers.

While in U.S. advertising of mineral water as beneficial to your health is against the law, the story is way different in Europe. Mineral water spas have many centuries long tradition and they are used for therapy and rehabilitation as one’s own choice as well as prescribed by conventional medical doctors (and mainly paid by health insurance).

The best and safest mineral water bottle is, like all safe containers, made out of glass.
