When you are sending bulk emails, targeted emails, direct emails or any form of email advertising your goal is to have the email opened by the reader. There are simple ways to increase your email open rates. Be creative!

With so many people receiving “junk” or “spam” email, you need to stand out from everyone else and really grab someone’s attention. Standing out simply can be wording your emails differently. Ask a question in your subject. Use personably words like “you”, this makes the reader feel special and like they are the direct person you are “advertising” too.

Use action words! Keep the subject as short as possible. You do not need to use a long drawn out subject to catch someone’s attention. Too many words and they brain automatically scans over them. People like short and sweet! With our busy lives we need simplicity and seek it in everything we do. Even our emails! To increase your email open rates, simply be creative; even use the person’s first name if you can. This is an attention grabber, as the person will naturally stop and read it when they see their own name!

Then you are speaking directly to that person! And that catches our attention more than anything. Do not make your subject appear to be spam or junk mail like. This is a huge turn off for us readers. I know that I can’t stand to open up my email and see “junk mail”!

You have to stand out from the others and become more and more creative. With so many people demanding attention, you need to get yours. Find ways to promote what you have and make it appealing. Make the reader feel that they have to open your email and see what you have.

Whether your responsive email is to thank someone for visiting your site or providing confirmation information you need to write the best responsive email you can. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, if you have a responsive email set up, you need to have a professional yet friendly tone to your email.

First you need to thank the person for their time and visit to your site. It’s amazing how a simple statement like “thank you” can stay with you! Provide the information needed for the customer or visitor. If they requested more information make sure to provide them with contact information, along with the amount of time they can expect before someone gets back to them.

If your responsive email is for a customer’s order, make sure that you have the order information along with shipment dates in the email. Keep the short and to the point. Enclose a link back to the site, contact information along with a name. This is helpful if there is an issue later.

Make sure to provide an alternate email address if the response email is not where the reader should send additional questions or concerns. Make sure to close the email by thanking them for their time and invite them back to your site. These simple, yet very courteous manners will provide a positive reflection of you and the company/website. With positive reflections comes referrals and with referrals come more visitors and clients. Remember to use spell check and proper grammar.

People with allergies face the possibility of having a reaction almost everywhere they go. Though we cannot control the environments of other people’s homes, businesses or other public areas, we can make a difference in our own homes. Here are some tips for reducing allergens in your home.

In the Bedroom
It is particularly important to clear the sleeping environment of allergens because symptoms tend to worsen at night and may cause an asthmatic to wake up with an asthma attack.
–Clean the room of any visible mold. Get behind dressers and furniture, in closets and in corners, where mold may lurk.
–Remove anything that may contain material you have not been cleared from by your doctor. Sensitivity testing will reveal which materials you are allergic to. Once you know what to look for find items containing or made up of those materials and remove them from your room (polyester, acrylic, nylon, wool, etc.).
–Keep pets out of the bedroom. You may not be allergic to the pets themselves, but all kinds of allergens get trapped in their fur - from dust to other irritants - which are rubbed off on blankets, clothing, carpet, and so on.

–Do some spring cleaning. Clean out your closets and dressers and 1) Get rid of anything you haven’t worn in a year; and 2) Wash everything else in an allergen-free detergent - or one that you know does not irritate your skin. This includes sheets and blankets that you know are not made of or contain materials you are allergic to. Clothes should be rinsed twice to thoroughly eliminate any detergent residues.

BioSET practitioners clear patients for common allergens in the bedroom air. First, the person is asked to leave an open jar of water in their bedroom for 24 hours. Then they are cleared for whatever substances are suspended in the water. This technique clears for various gases that may be given off in the bedroom by furniture, fabrics, carpets, and other items that might be difficult to identify individually. The person is also tested and cleared for sensitivities to materials commonly used in bedding, including wool, acrylic, nylon, polyester, and cotton.

Use the process of elimination to identify irritants in your bedroom. Do you have any plants, potpourri, dried flowers or other accessories that could be causing your allergies? Remove the items from your bedroom one at a time for at least three days. If your symptoms subside while that particular item is out of the room; keep it out.

One of the most common allergens that trigger asthmatics is dust mites. It is important to get rid of accumulations of dust. These next few tips are specific to the bedroom, but should be applied throughout the house.

–There should be smooth, uncluttered surfaces in the bedroom, with few small objects like books, knick- knacks, CDs, tapes, or stuffed animals that attract dust (and dust mites).
–Bedrooms should not be used as libraries or studies. Dust loves books.
–Bedding should be washed weekly in hot water-135 degrees Fahrenheit-to kill dust mites. Cool water just gives them a bath.
–Pillows can be encased in non-allergic and non-permeable dust-proof covers, if the person sleeping on them is not sensitive to the material. Otherwise, the cover will do more harm than good.
–Avoid feather comforters and pillows, and remove carpeting if possible.
–Carpeting is a major hiding place for dust mites.
–Avoid wall pennants, macrame hangings, and other dust catchers.
–Stuffed toys should be machine washable.
–Keep all clothing in a closet with the door closed.
–When vacuuming or dusting, be sure to use a dust face mask.

In the Kitchen
–Mold grows in refrigerators, particularly around door gaskets, in water pans below self-defrosting refrigerators, and on spoiled foods.
–Mold can also grow on garbage, so containers should be emptied and cleaned frequently.

In the Bathroom
–Remove excess water from shower doors, tiles, and tubs with a squeegee.
–Shower curtains, bath tile, shower stalls, tubs, and toilet tanks should all be washed with mold-preventive solutions.
–Do not carpet the bathroom.
–Bath sponges and other so-called “spa” items are breeding grounds for mold and bacteria. Use a wash cloth instead and wash it frequently with the laundry.

Chlorine is a common sensitivity for asthmatics, and when present in tap water, the effects are particularly noticeable after a shower. There may be difficulty breathing and a feeling of running out of oxygen. Some asthmatics have found that a chlorine-removing filter on the showerhead helps to prevent this reaction.

Chemicals used in toiletries, from cosmetics to perfume and lotions, are common allergens and irritants for asthma-sufferers. Learning about and using natural soaps and skin care products-as well as natural house-cleaning products-can make a huge and immediate difference in respiratory health and allergy symptoms.

In the Laundry Room and Basement
–In the laundry room, vent the dryer outside and dry clothing immediately after washing.
–In a basement, do not lay carpet and pads on a concrete floor. Use vinyl flooring instead.
–Dirt floors should be covered with a vapor barrier.
–Keep the basement free of dust, and remove stored items that are likely to harbor mold.

–Sensitive individuals should not have their bedroom on a basement level.

These tips may seem extreme, but for those who suffer from allergies and asthma attacks, making their home environment a cleaner place to live is well worth the time.

If you believe you have allergies and aren’t sure what you are allergic to, or if you believe that your asthma is connected to allergies, see a doctor and be tested for sensitivities. Once you know what causes your allergies, you can take steps to remove those irritants from your home. Until then, you can follow some of these helpful tips.

What makes athletes like Tiger Woods excel? How is he different than other pro golfers? What do some people have that make them seemingly unbeatable at what they do?

Peak performers are not guided by luck or circumstance. Though luck and circumstance may play a role in one victory or another, the substance of their success lies in what they expect from themselves and how they handle obstacles and stress. Here are what are considered to be the ten keys to performance excellence. I adapted these from information gleaned at the 2006 AAASP Conference in Miami:

The peak performer is not affected by his opponent’s good and bad performance-he competes against his own standards. You can’t do anything about how good your opponent is - whether you’re facing him on the pitcher’s mound or across the boardroom table. You can only affect your own abilities, which is what peak performers know and accept.

The peak performer has an insatiable internal desire to succeed. You’ve heard people say of winning athletes or teams, “they just wanted it more.” This is true in any endeavor. If you truly want something, you’ll put your all into it. That alone can help push you that extra bit to victory or success. It’s also called “heart.”

The peak performer enjoys an unshakeable belief in his unique abilities that make him better than the competition. Confidence, confidence, confidence! You have to be confident in your abilities. If you aren’t, it will show and it will affect your performance. If you know you are not 100% in one area or another, get better at it. Take the time to identify your weaknesses and then take action to strengthen them.

The peak performer believes in his ability and in himself - any form of doubt is banished. Self doubt is like a little seed that plants itself into your psyche - ready to explode at any moment and destroy your confidence. Have faith in your abilities and in what you can achieve. If you doubt yourself, you’re contradicting several other keys to peak performance.

The peak performer bounces back from setbacks with optimism. Losing or failing is not the end of the world. Athletes and professionals alike will suffer setbacks in their careers - no one is perfect. Getting “back on the horse,” is imperative. Learn from mistakes, better your game, and move on.

The peak performer remains fully focused on the task at hand in the face of distractions. It would be ideal if everyone on the golf course would mute themselves when the pro is trying to make a difficult putt, but that isn’t possible. Peak performers must be able to work under pressure; on the golf course and everywhere else you wish to be successful.

The peak performer regains mental/emotional/physiological balance following uncontrollable events. Okay, so your flight was canceled due to a winter storm and you weren’t able to make an important presentation the day you scheduled to do it and you lost a sale. What can you do? Damn the universe? Sure, but where does that get you? Letting go of the things we cannot control is one of the first things peak performers must learn to do. It’s not your fault. You couldn’t have done anything unless you had a crystal ball or weather-controlling machine, so let it go.

The peak performer accepts competitive anxiety and knows that he can deal with it. Being at the top of your game is stressful. Someone is usually on your heels, hoping to see you falter and someone is usually above you, expecting you to achieve more. Competition is a natural accelerant for anxiety. Accept it and find a way to deal with it.

The peak performer experiences the joy of competition- thrives under pressure. Not only must you find a way to deal with pressure and anxiety, you must find a way to transform what could be considered an obstacle into energy that you can feed on. If the pressure is on, you must be doing something right. Accept that as an indication that you’re headed for success and use that fuel to follow through to the end.

The peak performer pushes through the limits and gives a little more when stressed-he takes advantage of situations in which he can stretch his comfort zone. Here are a few cliches you’ve certainly heard: “Give 110%!” or “Work hard, play hard.” These are the mantras of peak performers.

Sometimes you need to have a little left in the tank to finish first, like a thoroughbred that appears to kick into another gear when another horse challenges his lead down the homestretch. And when it comes time to relax, peak performers must be able to do that at “110%,” too. Boxers train for months prior to a major fight, but once it’s over, they settle into some serious down time. Physically, they have to. The same is true of professionals in any field. Once you’ve exhausted your body or your mind, you need time to recoup. Most often, especially for people in the business world, that downtime amounts to a day or so away from the office. It might not seem like much, but peak performers must exploit every minute they have to relax.

Performance excellence is not attainable only by those blessed with natural-born talent or skill. These ten keys can be exercised by anyone who seeks to be success in their game, wherever it is played.

Most people link the term disease with an invasion of something into our bodies that needs to be fought off. In some people’s mind the word disease is synonymous with death. Yet most disease states usually represent a dysfunction in the body’s regulatory systems, a process that needs to be fixed not fought.

I think the term ‘disease’ should be relegated to the malfunctions in the body due to an external source. These external sources are things like smallpox virus; human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tetanus and hepatitis C virus (HCV) to just name a few.

I prefer to think of most prevalent ‘disease’ states as ‘dysfunctional’ states. These malfunctions can be things that merely need proper nutrition, spinal movement or hydration to fix. Now lets looks at some ‘disease’ conditions that should be considered ‘dysfunctions’. Scurvy, coronary artery disease better known as heart disease, and even some cancers occur because of our body’s inability to produce a specific collagen or to regulate malignant cells. Most everyone knows of a person who has survived these dysfunctional states (cancer, heart disease, etc). When we think of a dysfunction it should be thought of something that has come and then will go away once the proper correction is identified and corrected.

So we already know that environmental overload is one of the 2 things that can cause dysfunctions to occur. One result of environmental overload is neurogenic inflammation.

Neurogenic inflammation is when afferent neurons release inflammatory substances into surrounding tissues. These inflammatory substances are usually substance P and calcitonin gene-related peptide or CGRP for short, which is the most potent endogenous vasodilator currently known, and CGRP has receptors throughout the whole body.

So what causes neurogenic inflammation? 3 causes of neurogenic inflammation have been identified. With lack of motion within all of the spinal articulations being one, mental anguish being another and detrimental dietary habits as the third.

As you know we have spinal nerves that exit the spinal cord, which innervate organs or sometimes groups of organs. These nerves send information from the central nervous system to the organ and also carry information from the organ to the central nervous system. That is where spinal articulations can cause a problem. For example the nerve that transverses past the 5th thoracic vertebrae innervates the stomach.

If a subluxation which is can be defined as

“A joint that is slightly misaligned resulting in improper articulation causing improper nerve flow”

Occurs at the 5th thoracic vertebra a release of inflammatory substances will occur resulting in symptoms in the surrounding tissues and or the organ innervated by this nerve. This means you can have stiffness and pain in your mid back or you may only have stomach dysfunctions like heartburn or nausea.

Since these nerves travel to and from the target organ, it has also been noted that dysfunctions in the spine can occur from organ dysfunction. This is called a visceral somatic reaction. Chiropractic physicians are trained to remove these subluxations.

Negative thought patters can be the root cause of neurogenic inflammation. We all have experienced fearful thought patterns that created or induced a somatic or visceral response. If these negative thought patterns are fed they will increase your environmental toxicity and lead to further dysfunction.

A sales page can be used in the place of a page redirect. When the reader clicks on a link, and the link has been moved or updated, use a sales page to redirect them.

This provides a great advertising outlet for you as well as provides the reader something to read while the page is being redirected. These 5-10 second slots can be bought by you I order to promote your site, your business, your products and in turn create you a profit. This gets the word out on your site as well as generates more traffic later. Face it!

The internet is a large place and there is so many forms of advertising you need to use any method you can to promote your site. As a reader I hate the redirected pages that simply say “you will be redirected in 5-10 seconds” having something to read in those few seconds (which seem like minutes) can be beneficially to me. I never know what I need and as an impulse shopper, this is a great way to grab me and get me to locate you.

Readers and shoppers aren’t always aware of where to find what they are looking for and you never know who needs what you have. Using a sales page to advertising in the plane of the redirect page will benefit you and the person you are advertising for while they are being redirected. Go ahead, give it a try. I guarantee you will like this form of advertising and it is a great social networking tool to build your list.

We learn at an early age that “free gifts” are the best kind. And the least we have to do for them the better. The words “free” and “gift” cause us, even as adults, to stop, look, and review what is being said.

We love free stuff! Guess its human nature. That is why it is vital that you offer a free gift up front. Simply because people love free and gifts and combine them together WOW! People will come! To generate more traffic to your site offer that free gift up front. Gifts; even as small as key chains, will get the people coming in herds. It’s quite simple if you really think of it.

Use the free gift to get people to come and visit. Yes, it may seem a bit shallow, but when it comes to the Internet and generating more traffic, you must do what you can to promote and get that traffic.

If you don’t do it you will be left behind. The other guys are doing it and to survive and make money on the internet you must offer that free gift. It doesn’t have to be anything large or overwhelmingly special. People just love the thought of a free gift. Offer it and you will see the rewards from doing this small yet hugely impacted gesture.

The final installment of this series is about developing the Will of a Champion by finding your Big Reason Why.

Face it; every champion has developed an iron will. It is superhuman will-power that propels the individual through grueling workouts; Spartan diets, all kinds of adversity, to see positives inside of failures, to go beyond conventional limiting belief systems, and to ultimately reach one’s physique goals.

The question is how does one develop the iron will of an Arnold Schwarzenegger, Muhammed Ali or Lance Armstrong?

While psychologists, experts and athletes all talk about different aspects of developing the will to win, the bottom line when developing an iron will comes down to having a big enough reason WHY.

Develop An Iron Will Like Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold had a dream, like every other bodybuilder but what separated him from the thousands of other bodybuilders was he leveraged his desire better than anyone else. How did he do this?

What gave him so much willpower to succeed?

How can you duplicate this in pursuit of your physique goals?

These are important questions that you need to ask yourself to build up the will to reach your physique goals, whether it is losing an extra 10 pounds, putting an inch on your arms, or becoming the greatest bodybuilder in the world. It all starts and ends with Will.

Will - The Unseen Force Behind Everything

Classically defined will is the ability to exert force.

Every action, either mental or physical requires some energy. It takes energy to breathe, to blink your eyes, or to bench press a heavy barbell. In each of these examples though the force required can be separated into to distinct aspects.

Let’s look at lifting a dumbbell to illustrate.

First if you lift a dumbbell to shoulder height it is going to require two distinct aspects of force production:

The first and easiest force to examine is the electrical energy provided by the muscles in the arm to lift the arm

The second force is not so easy to measure yet it is this force that has more to do with your success than anything else. This force originates in the mind as the will power to lift the dumbbell or the mental energy exerted to initiate, sustain and complete any task.

You Need Will Power And Electrical Power

For example, if you tried to lift a dumbbell that was heavier than you could lift, no matter how much mental energy you exerted you will not be able to lift the weight. The will was there but the muscles could not produce enough force to lift the arm.

Conversely, you may have the strength to lift a heavy dumbbell up to shoulder height but you were not sufficiently motivated to do it therefore you failed the lift. However if someone put a gun to your head and said lift this weight or die, you would easily lift the weight as your will was leveraged by the fear of death.

Although this is an extreme and yet simplistic example it does illustrate there is more to lifting a weight or performing an action than muscle power.

Will power is the ultimate aspect, because with a strong enough will one can build the muscle power required to lift heavy weights. When the will is developed properly it can be used for other aspects of life such as dieting, success in business, self-development, overcoming adversity and an endless number of possibilities.

In Eastern philosophies such as Yoga and the various Martial arts, the development of will is the foremost component of the individual’s journey and ultimate success. In actuality the development of will is the key to success just as much in the western world as it is in the east.

The development of an iron will is especially true today in building a great physique, winning a national or world championship, or reaching a personal best.

Although there are many ways and systems to develop will it really boils down to leveraging two basic emotions, the desire to experience pleasure or the desire to avoid pain. Self help and personal development guru Tony Robbins emphasizes this in all of his courses, books, and seminars.

We all can learn a great deal from Tony and the many thousands of motivational speakers, psychologist, and athletes who have gone on to incredible levels of success and achievement. The Great news is you don’t have to re-invent the wheel because all you have to do is follow the steps that led other people to success.

I believe there are 3 Keys that almost every successful personal has developed.

The 3 Keys to Bodybuilding Success -

A Big Reason Why, Hard Work, A Positive Attitude

Bodybuilding is a unique sport where the avoidance of pain will definitely curtail your results. Building a fantastic physique requires you to learn to manage pain from lactic acid, from sore muscles, the pain of being hungry, the pain of missing certain social events, and the list goes on.

The only way you are going to get past these roadblocks is to develop an iron will.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the best examples of someone who has overcome incredible obstacles because he learned how to turn what most people consider pain or suffering into pleasure. He achieved this by developing a massive reason why, followed by hard work and a relentless positive attitude.

After many years of training Arnold became champion of the world and then used the same principles to become a successful businessman, a top grossing movie actor and finally the Governor of the State of California, which he moved to as a result of his desire for success.

What allowed someone of such a humble background to become so successful in such an unlikely way?

The “Arnold Factor”

The answer is Arnold developed intense willpower by leveraging his basic desires and transmuting them into the energy and drive to successfully achieve them. When interviewed about his success Arnold radiates his passion, joy and love for whatever he is doing which is his biggest secret.

Arnold leveraged his desires so much that training many hours a day, learning a new language, moving to a foreign country, or running a successful election campaign become merely rungs of achievement naturally achievable by following a plan to achieve his objective and working relentlessly to achieve it.

If you study the lives of almost every successful individual you will see striking similarities in the achievement of their dreams. One of the best ways to do this is to read up on the biographies of the most successful people in the world. Pick icons of success that you can admire and dive into their stories.

After a few of these biographies not only will you be pumped about your own ability to succeed you will be able to identify a pattern of success among great individuals.

The Secret to Unlimited Will Power - The Power of Love

The power of love generates more energy than any other human emotion. Tapping into this love is how you can overcome any barrier to your success. While most people use pain and its avoidance to motivate, Arnold tapped into a higher form of will power, one that was generated by his love of bodybuilding, of acting, of business, and of politics.

It is this power of love that activates tremendous willpower in even the weakest individual. We have all heard the stories of the little old lady who lifted a car because a loved one was trapped under it. The will power to achieve this impossible act was created by the love of the individual trapped under the car. Likewise the love of what Arnold was doing propelled him to multiple successes.

In order for you to be successful in building your physique, getting a better job, or successfully accomplishing a challenging task you need to expand and develop your love for whatever you are doing.

How do you develop more love in your life?

The Attitude of Gratitude

Give thanks for everything in your life including the challenges. While this may be tough at first it is a key component to happiness and the first step in becoming a loving and passionate person.

Become passionate about your objective by learning everything you can about it. Involve yourself as deep into your goal as possible and build up a multitude of positive reasons as too why you can achieve your goal. Make a list of everything you love about your life and read it out loud every morning and every night.

Read positive books, ask questions, and hang around people who are passionate and positive about the sport. Study the biographies of the individuals who have achieved similar success. Educate yourself about everything in the sport.

Program your mind for success by building joy around every little success. Do not entertain doubt, eliminate negative people from your life and if you cannot, then use their negativity as fuel to propel you to work harder. Remember…

There Is No Tomorrow, There Is Only “The Now”

To achieve astounding success you need to look at every workout as the most important in your life. Find ways of leveraging time so that you are aware of the preciousness of each moment. There is no tomorrow, there is only now and what you do today is where you start tomorrow.

Become incredibly positive. Recognize the seeds of success lie in today’s failure, and there are no bad results if you learn from each and every one or your experiences. Don’t judge yourself, simply evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and work as hard as possible on overcoming your current limitations. This is how you develop the will of a champion.

All champions love what they do. Champions are willing to perform even the most unpleasant tasks if they will lead to success. Often times the most unpleasant tasks are the ones you need to focus on the most. Feed yourself daily positive affirmations and take action every day to the achievement of your goal …

These are some of the keys to developing an iron Will and the way to achieve success in any field. Remember the words written in one of the greatest self-help books of all time Think and Grow Rich written by Napoleon Hill, “If you can Conceive it, and Believe it, You can Achieve it”.

Those in the marketing world understand the need for a sales funnel. However to us who are not internet gurus, a sales funnel might not make any sense at all. Here is the down and dirty of what a sales funnel is and exactly why you should use it to market your web site.

Sale funnel is quite simply another way of generating traffic, using the sales funnel is a great way to decide who to nudge into the funnel and who to push out. With time you will learn who you need to place in the funnel and who you should “kick out”. The list that you built (and constantly update) will provide the best guidance for whom to advertise to.

Those people are where you will start, placing them in the funnel first. Constant updates on your list will provide you with new insight as to who stays in and who moves in or out. Your sales funnel is a positive tool in generating traffic and resulting in revenue.

Keep in mind that moving someone in or out does not mean you forget about them totally. You will need them later. Your sales funnel is quite simply like the funnel used to pour oil into your car. The bottle of oil serves as the home for the audience you need, however the funnel you pour the oil into makes sure that you don’t “pour” the oil on other parts of the car.

Same goes for the sales funnel, you don’t want to “cover” your pitch to those who don’t need or want what you have. The use of your sales funnel makes sure that you target who you need to target without polluting those who don’t.
