Work The Steps Of A Strategic Plan

What ever success you are looking to achieve you need to have a strategy to get there.
Once you have your strategy on how you are going to attract and get new clients you need to implement at least portions of your plan. Many businesses have failed for lack of commitment to their overall strategy.

For an example let’s say that you have a local business and you have decided one of your strategies will be to put up flyers, in public places that may cater to your clientele. Now let’s say that you have a business that does custom drapery. Knowing who your clients are and how much a person will pay for your custom drapery will determine where you will post your flyers. Where are the most effective spots to get specific clients for your business? Probably home shows, or expos, home stores like home depot, or Pier One (if they allow you too), upholstery shops, or dry cleaners etc.

When you have a strategy to put up flyers, it has to be week after week, and month after month. You don’t just put up a flyer one time and then wait to see what happens. I have discovered that it takes about three months of flyers to get a customer. Now let’s say that you also have a strategy to contact interior designers, specialty craft people, and furniture builders, house or condo builders, showroom designers and other related service providers. Again you need to commit to sending, following up, and making sure that they have enough of your flyers or information. It is not their job to make sure that you are restocked.

Another possible strategy that you may have is to advertise on the internet. Where will you have the best results? Probably on sites that also offer similar custom services, or home sites, or commercial real estate sites that offer living solutions to their traveling clients. You could make partnerships with such companies that every time someone is looking for custom drapery they refer clients to you.

These are good strategies to build business but you have to be consistent and follow through. You will have to keep updating your ads on the internet or in magazines or targeted niche newsletters. Like “Custom House” or “Design on a Dime.” You will have to keep replacing your flyers, you will keep faxing your information to prospects, and you will have to keep getting new names of new house buyers and so on.

That is working your strategic plan. On your plan you could have 10 or more steps of how you are going to grow your business and then you need to take consistent action towards that overall plan. Testing is very important as well. When you test you then know what actions are working and what is not.

Most times you have to trust your instinct as to whether your steps and plan will get you to where you want. For an example: I want an online business that is bringing in clients and that is making money for me whether I get up in the morning or not. The steps of my plan is creating articles for an e-zine, to plan an year long e-mail campaign of information that I will send out, to set up an auto-responder to send out the newsletter, and to create a membership driven website with tons of content that has audio and video features, and to advertise the newsletter and website once I’m finished. So right now I’m not making money. But I believe in the plan. I have written nearly sixty articles and I’m submitting them to the web. I have already reserved a domain name and I have the web host in place for that final moment when it all comes together. The e-zine is nearly done for a year out, and I will now start loading the contents into my auto responder and working on creating audio content for the membership side of the website. Even though the website is not even built yet if I follow up on all the steps of my strategic plan I feel that I will get my goal of an online business that can thrive on automatic pilot.

If you work your plan too you will achieve your over all goal of where you would like to take your business. Don’t give up. You have worthy goals and they deserve to be completed. Break it down into steps and work the steps and you will build an empire.

‘The Secret’ Can Help You Make Money Online

The Secret dvd seems to have taken the world by storm. Oprah, Larry King, Ellen, and others have all done shows on it. The internet is buzzing about it. If you haven’t already seen it, do a search online for “The Secret” and check it out.

Essentially, what The Secret talks about is the law of attraction. Which is–You become what you think about.

Since we’re interested in making money online, how can we use The Secret (’you become what you think about’) to help us make money?

Here are some suggestions:

First, ask yourself, “What are my feelings about money? What are my feelings about making alot of money? “

Many people have negative thoughts about money. Now, they may earnestly want to have more money. But their negative thoughts keep them from making the kind of money that they deserve. Since you become what you think about, the negative thoughts start manifesting in your life.

How do you stop it?

The best advice I can give is–start seeing yourself in possession of the amount of money you want. See yourself as already having it. Imagine how it feels to have this money. Play this image over and over in your mind as often as you can. We think in pictures.

Secondly, since we think in pictures, start seeing yourself as having a successful internet business. See yourself walking to your mailbox and taking out checks that have been mailed to you from various affiliate programs, ect. The trick is to see yourself already having the result you want. Play this image in your mind over and over.

Some of you will find this hard to do. We live in a negative world. There seems to be more negative than positive. How do we battle this? One way is to start reading positive books. Start with Napoleon Hill”s ‘Think and Grow Rich” and ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’ by David J. Schwartz. These books will help to keep your thoughts positive and on track.

Also, get a copy of “The Secret” dvd and view it several times. (I want to say to view it everyday, but I know that’s hard for alot of people). You need to really grasp what that dvd talks about. When you do grasp it, your live will start to change.

Next, get a system for your internet business and for making money online. Like I’ve said in some of my other articles, I didn’t start making money online until I found a system. This system gives me simple activities that I perform everyday. And it makes me money.

Remember, you do become what you think about, and the thoughts you have today will effect your tomorrow.

7 Steps to Creating Wealth Now

Profits are like babies, easy to conceive but hard to deliver. However, once you learn how profits are attracted you can deliver them over and over again. You can even do this from the comfort of your own home.

What is it like to work from home earning huge profits? Well, it gets boring at times. You may be wondering, what do you mean it gets boring? You see the key to earning a six-figure income is to know how much you need to make each day. Once you know this you can set your daily goals.

For example, imagine you want to earn $100,000 in a year trading. There are approximately 250 trading days or work days in a year. In other words, you have 250 days in a year to work in which to earn $100,000. If you divide $100,000 by 250, you will see that you must earn $400 each day or $2,000 a week to make $100,000 a year. You can break this down to where you determine the amount for the month as well.

Once you have determined how much you need to make daily or weekly the next step is to look for investments that will get you to your goal in the quickest manner. As you look through your investments options, you are looking for what will be moving.

This is kind of like jumping on a train that is going your way and is going to get you where you want to be on time. You do not want to be on a train that is moving too slow and will make you late. The same is true when you are investing. You want something that is moving and will get you where you want to be, either on time or early if possible.

After you determine your investment(s), you must now take action. Call your broker and give him or her your instructions for the day or week, including when to take profits and what to do to minimize any losses, should they occur. This way you do not have to spend all day looking at a computer or watching your investment(s).

Did you notice that you set the amount of money you are willing to lose, if things did not go your way? This is essential to becoming a highly successful trader. No one wants to lose money so, if losses occur you want them to be as small as possible.

Also by knowing in advance the most you could lose, it helps make the experience more enjoyable. This is because you are not worrying how the investment(s) is doing. You know at the very least you will walk a way with a minimal loss. This is how fortunes are made because it takes the emotion out of investing.

The entire process takes less than 30 minutes a day. You then have the rest of the day to do as you please. This can get boring because most likely the people that you want to spend the rest of the day with are at work hustling for money and barely getting by.

They are at jobs where they are not appreciated and drastically under paid. If only they would take the same steps you did. They would soon realize that sometimes you get notified an hour or two later letting you know that your daily or even weekly profit objectives have already been reached.

Research Your Idea - Do Your Homework

The planning and testing stage is the time to research your ideas to figure out if there really is a market for your product. Too many newbies start out with an idea that they think it is brilliant, and it may well be brilliant. But you have to test and research to see just what is the interest or demand that your product might generate. How can you do your homework on something that is new? First you have to take a look around the market to see if there is something similar. Is it being used in a similar fashion? How is it selling? Is it a good product? What is the selling point? What are the short comings of that similar product and how can you improve on it?

If there is nothing like what you are proposing out there you have to research in other ways. Many times an idea for new products are market specific so the first question to answer is who are going to be your buyers? Once you determine that niche market then it’s time to focus your attention on what those buyers want? How do you do that? Ask questions. There are a couple of ways that you can do that. Get out of your car and walk into your buyers places of business and ask them. Would you use this product if one existed? What would you like to see as some features? What is missing from a similar type product that you have bought in the past? Or call them up and ask them to take a small survey.

Another way to get answers is to design a mock up or prototype of the product that you are thinking of marketing and ask your buyers to use it and to give you good and bad feedback. You could set up a focus group and pay people who have expertise in that product area to come in and give you their opinions. You could also pay everyday consumers to come in and use the products or give their opinions of what they think of the proposed product or services. Be prepared though because people will be brutally honest.

Once you have those answers now is the time either to kill the idea or make improvements on it and test again. Once in a while you hit upon a brilliant idea and there is no need for improvement so the next thing in that case is to stock up and sell to those buyers that want to snatch it up as soon as you offer it!! In most cases you have to redesign, re-test and create a second and third prototype to get the absolute best product to the market. This is where most entrepreneurs will spend their money. This is also where most good ideas fall off by the wayside. It can take money to get your product just right so that it will be easily bought and distributed. Many new business owners don’t have the capital needed to make an idea fly, to revamp a good idea or make it marketable. This is where it takes grit to pass a product into the next phase.

The idea, testing and marketing phase can be costly but it is worth it to know the pull of your product. Hold onto your vision and take those calculated risks on blockbuster ideas and drop the ideas that only tested “so so.”

When you have one of those explosive ideas you have to believe in it so strongly that you are willing to put everything on the line to make it become a reality. Test each phase and each step. Go to your buyers and ask them. Last step is to create a big launch event to bring your product into the public and to create a buyers frenzy that your product is something that they have to get their hands on. Lots of people, lots of attention, lots of buying and selling is what you will be looking to create. Hopefully your testing stage has paid off and you will start seeing a profit.

I bet I am going to get the attention of many many readers with that headline. The disappointing news is that unless you win the lotterry or have some other very very fortunate occurrence in your life, you are not going to make a million Dollars in one month.

We all want to be millionaires. We want to lead the life of the rich and famous. And we are convinced that they had that money fall into their laps, appear in their bank accounts one day, were really lucky in their deals, were at the right spot at the right time and any other bizarre kind of acquisition process one can think of. If you are Paris Hilton, then yes it did. However, if you look at the source of her money, it is certain that the original Conrad Hilton worked very hard for his money. Because that is what most millionaires have had to do. This includes the Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, John D Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Oprah Winfrey or JK Rowling’s of this world, who have often been through hardships before their sheer determination and hard work paid off. I am certain if one were to study the people who have managed to acquire their millions in their life time, that this one particular character trait would be found in all or most of them.

For an example, reading some background on JK Rowling, who is said to be just behind Oprah Winfrey in terms of wealth, world wide, in the entertainment field. Her first Harry Potter book was submitted to twelve publishing houses, all of which rejected it. A year later she finally was given the go ahead by a small publisher with an advance of £1500.00. And the advice from the publisher was that she should get herself a job since she had little chance of making a living writing children’s books. The first Harry Potter book had a print run of 1000, of which 500 were sent to libraries. In a report by the BBC it is stated that 12 million copies are to be printed just for the United States market for the launch in July 2007. How many of us would have given up when we were told that we would never make it, the advice by a publisher who would probably have known his market?

If you want to make a million dollars, discover that something that makes you really really passionate. It’s there. You’ve just allowed life and all its ups and downs to burry it. Put some real and passionate effort into that exercise. It doesn’t matter what it is. Just as an aside, I think just being passionate about having lots of money isn’t the same! Jewelry Making As A Business

You may have been designing jewelry for years before you sold your first piece, but does this now constitute you as being a business owner? Some seem to think however, when results aren’t exactly what they expected they tend to develop a I knew it wasn’t going to work type attitude and simply quit. You may be the most talented designer ever, your friends and family and a few other regular customers may sing your praises, yet you are still a hobbyist. Why is this? Because that is exactly how you are treating your business. It is important that you take the necessary steps to cross over in to a business from a hobbyist; it is not just going to happen by chance.

A common thing that will keep you in the hobby mode is the everyday distractions that occur when working at home. Included would be Spouses, children, family and friends dropping over, and the biggie, household duties. If you are the one at home, naturally these duties will mostly fall upon your shoulders. A good idea would be to sit and talk with everyone involved and let them all know upfront what your plan of action will be in order to balance out everything.

When working for yourself discipline is necessary, no longer is there anyone standing over your shoulders making sure you stick to your work schedule. That person now becomes you, so it is up to you and no one else to stick to your work schedule. Before you can do that first you must have a schedule, this schedule should be posted where everyone involved has access to it. If you have small children at home and your budget allows maybe during the times of day that you will be working you can hire a p/t home-maker or college student to come in and watch the children while you work. In order for this to work, you must have a designated area in your home as your workspace. If it becomes necessary, create a sign to hang outside of your door that says work in progress or for small children, hang a big red stop sign on your door. Help your family help you work by giving them visual clues that will get them accustomed to you working at home, rather than you just being at home.

Treat your business as a business. If you allow friends and extended family members to drop by at will or call and chit chat at will, then they are not going to take your working at home seriously because you don’t.

Another potential time stealer is writing and responding to written communication via e-mail. Even though this has become a necessary tool today, if we are not careful we can spend hours on just checking email that has nothing to do with our business. To alleviate this, allot time at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day to take care of communications.

Stay focus, if you have returned home from the work place to pursue your jewelry or craft business, focus is a necessity. Before, you may have received a salary for putting in a certain amount of hours per week. Working for yourself pays just a tad bit differently; you are paid according to productivity. Therefore remember, if you Don’t work, or promote, you Don’t get paid. Set goals for yourself, challenge yourself if that keeps you working. Do not wait until you sit down at your work station to set this goal, why not start by setting weekly goals at the beginning of the week and break this down into how many hours of work each day it will take to reach your goal.

Treat your business as a business and all others will follow your lead, much success to you.

To begin with you have to determine if you are going to have a physical space or virtual space to conduct your business. Knowing what you are going to sell or what services you will offer should tell you that. Will you have a home office or commercial location? At bare minimum you will need to have record keeping ability and you have to decide if you are going to keep notebooks or files on a computer from the beginning.

Next you need certain tools to conduct your business. You will need a form of communication with your clients or prospects. That may include business cards, letterhead, or stationary, e-mails, phone, and or faxing capability, website and sales copy. You determine your communication methods but all the methods should be professional.

You also need to tag or file your possible prospects, your committed clients, your vendors, and any correspondence and to whom. It is a good idea to keep track of what you are selling, the prices that you have established and any discounts that you offered. Also keep track of whether it is your product of someone else’s. You might consider investing in a good tracking software.

Another thing to set up is any policies that you will implement. Knowing your return policy upfront for an example will help you deal with a future return. Your shipping policy is another area that could get you in a bind. Will you ship locally, nationally or internationally? Who will take care of shipping the product? What will you do if the item is damaged?

If you are in a service industry who will provide the service in your absence or do you just cancel with your client for that day? These are things that you should establish up front. So that when it happens everything will go smoothly.

Setting up also includes getting any licenses, or permits to conduct your business, choosing your business name, and determining the type of business entity such as non profit or sole proprietor that your business will fall under. Setting up a website from the beginning requires choosing the domain name and choosing a web host provider and web designer unless you are going to design and build it yourself.

Remember also your strategic plan of how to get you clients. What steps are you going to take to bring in your first clients and continue to bring in new ones. What tools will you need to work that plan? What actions are you committed to doing on an on going basis to bring in new prospect and clients?

Last consider having an opening event to launch your new endeavor. Consider also offering something for free. Free class, free evaluation, free report, free consultation, or discounted services for possibly the first fifty people who sign up. Remember to invite the press. Write a press release and get it out at least five to seven days or more in advance, and then a follow up days before the launch and the day of if you can. So all those wanna be’s, newbies business owners start your engines!!

Nicotine leads to actual physical dependence on the body. This causes physical reactions within the body when quitting smoking. Nicotine Replacement Therapy in the form of gums, patches, sprays, lozenges or inhalers contains nicotine without other harmful chemicals such as are present in tobacco. With NRT, the quitter can focus his or her energy on the psychological aspects of smoking cessation rather than the physical through a gradual withdrawal process that will lessen the physical effects.

How NRT Works

Most people who try to quit smoking on their own, without NRT do not succeed the first time. Many smokers report an average of 8-10 tries until they quit smoking for the last time and stick to it.

Most often, the attempt to quit relapses within the first 3 months. The trick is to not give up and begin the process again until it sticks, reinventing the method used to quit each time.

In 2000, the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) recommended NRT for all those wishing to quit smoking except pregnant women and those with heart or circulatory diseases. This finding has been augmented and now therapies such as the nicotine patch can be administered to those with cardiovascular disease, as long as they are carefully monitored by a doctor. It is not a bad idea to let your doctor know that you are beginning a NRT program and have your doctor monitor you.

NRT can be started as soon as the smoker decides “This is my last cigarette”. The only danger in NRT is in overdosing on the amount of nicotine, so be sure to read the instructions with any patch, gum or lozenge you decide to try.

Five types of NRT have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration

The Patch- is a transdermal nicotime system replacement therapy. The patch is a gradual decrease in nicotine process. Each patch contains a measured dosage of nicotine and the quitter administers these patches in a tapering off order, in order to wean the user off the drug. There are 16-hour patches for light-to-average smokers. 24-hour patches that provide a steady dose of nicotine to help with early morning withdrawal. Some side effects of skin irritation and sleep disruptions may occur. The FDA approves the use of the patch for 3-5 months. Some users have found that 8 weeks or less is just as effective. It is a personal choice.

Side effects may include: red or irritated skin, racing heartbeat, dizziness, sleep problems or intense dreams, vomiting, headache, nausea, muscle aches and stiffness.

The Gum- is nicotine polacrilex. Nicotine replacement occurs through the mucous membranes in the mouth. The dosages come in 2mg and 4mg pieces. The gum is to be chewed until a peppery taste occurs, then tucked inside the cheek and chewed occasionally for 20-30 minutes. Acidic foods and drinks should be avoided. No more than 20 pieces of gum per day. Nicotine gum is recommended for 1-3 months with a maximum of 6 months of usage. Also helpful to taper off usage as with the patch.

Side effects: bad taste, mouth sores, hiccups, nausea, achy jaw, racing heartbeat and throat irritation.
