Anyone considering a summer holiday this year may be put off by the thought of a crowded beach on a Spanish Costa or the over familiarity of resorts packed with British tourists. However, there are areas of Spain that are not over-populated by tourists and offer beaches unspoilt by the masses.

The Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) on the sandy shores of the Atlantic in the South Western corner of Spain promises an alternative to the commercialised Mediterranean resorts. Stretching from Tarifa near Gibraltar to the border of the Algarve, The Costa de la Luz is a particular favourite with the Spanish. In fact you may find yourself longing for company as you stroll along the near deserted and tranquil beaches.

With restrictions on development meaning many of the beaches remain unspoilt, Costa de la Luz holidays enjoy a notably Andalucian atmosphere with a strong flamenco tradition and extraordinary carnivals and religious processions. Holidays on the Costa de la Luz feature superb Andalucian cuisine with tapas bars and superior fish and seafood far outweighing more predictable tourist menus.
The combination of sandy beaches, friendly locals and great food make Costa de la Luz holidays a wonderful experience and one yet to be exposed on a large scale. However this is not to say it does attract a number of discerning holidaymakers with the insight to appreciate what is on offer, namely the near perfect windsurfing conditions and the world class surfing.

Although the attractive beaches are vast and often seem deserted, they are also within reach of some of Europe’s most fascinating cities meaning you can be in touch with the best of both worlds. This particular area of Andalucia is populated by historic cities rich in culture and tradition such as Cadiz, Seville and Jerez, or beautiful hilltop towns like Vejer and Arcos. One minute you can be strolling along a deserted beach, the next you can be exploring the charismatic Andalucian cities. An excellent example, Tarifa boasts a labyrinth of boutiques, surf shops, terraced cafes and restaurants dotted around the streets which wind up towards the late-Gothic 15th century church of San Mateo and a great castle overlooking the town. Tarifa also boasts an impressive nightlife with its many bars and clubs encouraging a growing reputation as the ‘new Ibiza’ or the ‘Malibu of Europe’.

Other holidaymakers are drawn by the more relaxing pursuits of walking, bird watching and horse riding or simply soaking up the Spanish sun. In fact, the Costa de la Luz is a magnet for birdwatchers. Between Cadiz and Southern Portugal is Europe’s largest wildlife sanctuary, the Coto Donanan National Park, which is home to an unprecedented number of bird species. This corner of Spain is also one of the most historic, ranging from the 2nd century BC Roman site of Baela Claudia, about 9 miles north of Tarifa, hosting numerous temples and a restored theatre carved out of the side of a hilltop. Another nearby picturesque town, Vejer de la Fontera, sits high upon the hills with a 16 century church and a delightful Spanish plaza incorporating spectacular views.

For those tired of commercialised Spanish holidays, the Costa de la Luz literally gives an insight into traditional Spain and has an array of attractions to match rival holiday resorts within the other Costas. The only difference is that for now, it is left relatively untouched, also meaning there are chances to find cheaper deals. directline-holidays.co.uk combine an efficient search facility using all the major tour operators with the ease to book online or over the phone to find a perfect Costa de la Luz holiday. Other recommended resorts in the Costa de la Luz include Chipiona which is close to Jerez and popular with discerning locals from Cadiz and Seville. For holidays closer to the Cadiz region, directline-holidays.co.uk offer Nova Sancti Petri holidays, a secluded beach resort with excellent golf and water sports facilities.

http://www.directline-holidays.co.uk/ specialises in selling cheap package holidays, flights and hotels.

As we all know the year 1776 was filled with bone shaking fears, young blood stains in nearly every field and profound hopes for a dream to become reality. About 6000 young lives were sacrificed in the Revolutionary War and another 12000 to 15000 lives were ruined as the result of brutal inhumane incarceration. A radical faction of society was hell bent on changing the course of a country. So intent were these radicals on casting aside the only way of life everyone knew, for an unknown new fantasy future, that they literally defied the King of, the world’s most dominate country, England, and vowed a slugfest, maniacal fight every step of the way to the hangman’s noose should Great Britain prevail over General Washington’s revolutionary troops. Their resolve was further bolstered when word was received that King George III arrogantly declared that; “Nothing important happened today” after he heard that the Declaration of Independence had been adopted in the American Colonies. This declaration was the fruit of labor from fifty six radical American Patriots we refer to as our Founding Fathers and no conceited foreign King was going to keep them from making this independence a reality.

A new book by author Jim Andreas takes you behind the parchment and into the personal lives of all fifty six patriotic signers of the Declaration of Independence. Not only does the year 1776 reincarnate before your eyes but so do the fears and thoughts of their wives and children, plus you experience defeat, victory and death on the battle field. Feel the terror of being a prisoner of war under the most horrific conditions any mind could possibly imagine. All of this and more between the front and back covers of:

Something Important Happened Today!

This is a must read for every American patriot. The book has not yet been published; however a rough copy of its pages has been reviewed and commented on. It is currently in the pre-publishing reserve copy phase. Reserve your autographed copy at a discounted price plus receive a free American Flag lapel pin.

Details are available at: http://www.something-important-happened-today.com/

Jim Andreas retired from law enforcement after nearly thirty years of service. After 9-11 he felt the need to join the fight against terrorism. His advanced age limits his participation but he does what he can through a private security contract with the U.S. Dept. of Interior. He grew up on a small farm in the middle of an Indian Reservation. At a young age Jim assumed he was Indian just like his playmates, when his buddies told him he was a white man he was crushed. Angered he ran to his mother to tell her they were picking on him and called him a white man. His mother had the difficult task of confirming his playmates revelation. He recovered, without hard feelings, and went on to develop the fond memories he treasures to this day about being an Indian.
After High School the United States Navy claimed several years of his life and showed him the real world. Although he enjoyed visiting numerous foreign countries he developed a patriotic appreciation for life in the United States unequalled by any other American. This appreciation is evident in the pages of his book.

One of the most commonly held beliefs about dogs is that they are quite literally born to obey their respective masters - be they male or female. That’s why we all collectively consider dogs to be mans best friend. Obedience is not necessarily something that comes naturally to dogs and to be honest often has to be trained into them with compassion and patience. Your dog needs to learn how to obey commands so they know how to behave around your home, people and of course other dogs and animals.

Obedience training in dogs is to allow you to “control” the dog. Remember dogs think and act with a pack instinct to a certain extent and this type of training is vital so that the dog knows who the master is in your relationship. In effect you’ll become the Alpha male of this particular small “pack”.
The methods used to achieve this final goal vary from one trainer to the next but the ultimate goal is the same - the dog has to obey their master; it’s to the benefit of all involved.

So what actually makes a dog obey their master? They (dogs) don’t think the same way as humans do and don’t understand our spoken language as such. So what are the core techniques to making a dog obey you? It’s quite simple really… you need to train your dog in a consistent and compassionate manner and they’ll respond. And you thought it was going to be rocket science eh?

Having a consistent approach in your training is critical. Dogs don’t think logically as humans do. You need to be consistent in showing your dog what behaviors you appreciate and those that you don’t. This way it can become more “instinctual” for the dog and they’ll quite happily obey you and your dog/owner relationship can truly blossom.

Compassion is equally important. Even the smartest dog will take time to learn new commands from you. If your canine buddy doesn’t instantly respond to a new commmand then don’t scold, slap or shout at him or her. Your dog needs to trust you for your training to be truly effective and let’s face facts nobody likes getting yelled at - dogs are the same in this regard.

Your dog is willing to obey you but he’s going to take time to learn the ropes. Be patient, compassionate and consistent in your approach and you’re already 50% of the way to success.

Stress, Health and Change - Top Ten Tips for Coping With Uninvited Change

Your husband or boyfriend has just walked out on you. Your boss announces that your position will be deleted next week. Nothing personal, it was a business decision. You see the doctor about some hearing loss and find out you have a brain tumor.

What do these events have in common? Uninvited change. The sudden ending of life as you know it. A new adventure which you would not have chosen to go on. Many practical decisions to be made about how to survive in the new circumstances. Confusing emotions. Fear of what lies ahead. It can be a little frightening sometimes, not knowing what it will all lead to.

The following tips might help you to ease the tension and fear as you move forward into the unknown.

  1. Be kind to yourself, in thought and deeds. How would you treat someone else that this happened to? It is all too easy to fall into a self punishing trap, blaming yourself and trying to find reasons for how you caused this situation. It is more productive and helpful, though, to think kindly and lovingly toward yourself.
  2. Gather information for the practical decisions you will need to make. This might include second opinions for a medical situation, or a review of your financial picture for work and relationship changes. Having information will help you make informed choices. It can also dispel a lot of fears, which are based on imagining the worst case scenario.
  3. Reach out to others for support. Let your family and friends know your situation and allow them to be there for you. You may also want to join a support group of others who are in a similar situation. Counseling can often be helpful when it is hard for your loved ones to hear the feelings you need to express. They may say cheerful things to try to make you feel better, when you are feeling the need to be fully listened to.
  4. Practice forgiveness toward yourself and others. People may say the wrong things because they don’t know what to say. Imagine the situation reversed. Would you know what to say to them? Would you know what their needs would be in this situation? You will need to be easy on yourself too. You are in uncharted territory, and may understandably make mistakes in how to act. There are stages of grieving you will go through, and there is no way to know how long it will take. Just when you think you have it all together, you may become angry or depressed again. Be patient with yourself.
  5. Have some time alone each day. Practice some form of relaxation exercise or meditation. You will need some time to free your mind from all the information you have gathered, and to take a break from worrying. If you don’t already have a relaxation practice, this is a good time to learn one.
  6. Have some fun. If all your time with others is based on talking about your situation, let them know you would like to do something fun together. This can be energizing and refreshing for you and them.
  7. Practice gratitude. Try to focus your mind on what is right in your life. Look for small things to feel happy about if you can’t find any big things. This attitude of gratitude will help you feel more peaceful. It can become a habit which will help you create more to be grateful about.
  8. Be open to possibilities. This thing that happened to you might just be the opening to let something else into your life that you did not think of before. It may sound trite, when you are grieving, for someone to say, “when one door closes, another one opens.” Some of these common sayings do have much wisdom in them. It is all in the timing. Just be open to the idea for now. It can be helpful and even calming to think, “This is quite interesting; I wonder what will happen next?”
  9. Take care of your health. Times of major change can cause such stress that you become ill from it. This is not a time to neglect the basics such as good nutrition, moderate exercise to the degree that you are able, and enough sleep.
  10. Practice visualizing the type of outcome you would like. How do you think your life will look once this ordeal is over? How would you like it to look? What do you think is possible given the circumstances? What are some steps you can take now to help bring this about?
  11. I hope these tips are helpful to you. I hope they will help bring more peace and happiness into your life.

What Are Heart Rate Controlled Programs?

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /wwwroot/gphone-android.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1142

Heart rate control programs work by adjusting the intensity of a program to keep your heart rate at a preset level. This level will be a percentage of your maximum heart rate, as a rough guide to calculate your maximum heart rate, deduct your age from 220 e.g. if you’re 35 years of age then your maximum heart rate is around 185. Depending on your fitness level you should workout to a percentage of that figure between 55% and 80%.

Almost all cardio vascular exercise equipment can offer heart rate control, in this instance I have described how it works with regards to treadmills. Other pieces of exercise equipment such as crosstrainers also known as elliptical trainers and exercise bikes work on the same principles.

When using a heart rate controlled program the exercise equipment will need to know your heart rate constantly. This can be either via the heart rate hand grip sensors or via a wireless telemetric heart rate strap which sends your heart rate via radio waves to the console. Most of the treadmills sold have heart rate hand grip sensors; although the disadvantage of using these during a heart rate controlled program is that you have to keep your hands connected to the sensors which can impede your running. This is where looking for a treadmill which you can use a heart rate strap with is useful, as you do not need to worry about holding onto any sensors whilst working out.

Most treadmills will keep your heart rate at the preset rate by increasing or decreasing the speed of the treadmill dependant on your heart rate. Some of the more expensive treadmills, such as the Tunturi T40 treadmill have an incline controlled heart rate controlled program as well as speed. Heart rate control programs offer a safe and effective way to workout and can help with weight loss.

If you’re looking for exercise equipment with heart rate control please visit for a full range of treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical crosstrainers, and rowing machines.

FORWARD

The 188 stage Hero’s Journey (Monomyth) is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188+ stage template.

Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters. This is the template you must master if you are to succeed in the craft.

[The terminology is most often metaphoric and applies to all successful stories and screenplays, from The Godfather (1972) to Brokeback Mountain (2006) to Annie Hall (1977) to Lord of the Rings (2003) to Drugstore Cowboy (1989) to Thelma and Louise (1991) to Apocaplyse Now (1979)].

THERE IS ONLY ONE STORY

THE 188 STAGE HERO’S JOURNEY:

a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.

b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.

c) Gives you a tangible process for building and releasing dissonance (establishing and achieving catharses, of which there are usually four).

d) Tells you what to write. For example, at a certain stage of the story, the focus should be on the Call to Adventure and the micro elements within.

ABRIDGED TIPS, EXCERPTS AND EXAMPLES:

(simply go to www.clickok.co.uk for full details)

*****Foreshadow of the Final Conflict****

A Foreshadow of the Final Conflict is not uncommon (the very detailed stage between the Crossing of the Return Threshold and the Mastery of the Old and New Worlds and Self). This is not unlike the stage of the Elixir, where the ultimate goal is made explicit. In Straw Dogs (1971), the boys say that, “…we can take care of our own here, usually do…”

*****Loop*****

Links the start of the story to the end…not necessarily the first scene to the last.. In Brokeback Mountain (2005), we see the Wyoming landscape. Represents the closing of the story but not necessarily the resolution of all challenges. In Star Wars (197), Vader disappears but is not vanquished.

*****Physical Change*****

It is during the First Threshold Outer Cave Trial that a physical change (most often a wound) is inflicted. This is where blood is most often seen. The wound is symbolic of the beginning of the Physical Transformation. As the woudn heals, so it represents the Hero’s Changing. In Bonnie and Clyde (1967), teh shopkeeper shoots Clyde.

*****Unbearable Antagonism*****

The Hero will suffer an Unbearable Antagonism that will force his hand (and push him past the stage of Lack of Commitment). In Star Wars (1977), storm troopers kill uncle Owen and aunt Beru. In The Incredibles (2004), Mr Incredible sees a person on the street being mugged. This causes him to snap.

For years women have believed in a black cohosh menopause relief link. The belief is that black cohosh offers some form of relief to the symptoms associated with menopause, peri-menopause and other female health issue.

Black cohosh is believed to help with PMS issues, menstrual cramps and many other menopause symptoms.

We have to go back quite a way in history to see when the using black cohosh became popular. As far back as 1900, black cohosh was used in tonics and home remedies to treat various women’s health issues with good results.

The usefulness of the Black Cohosh goes much further than just helping with menopause and PMS, although if it only helped with these conditions then it would still be very useful, as most women will attest. No, black cohosh has also been used to treat other conditions, from eczema to insect bites.

Interestingly, the use of black cohosh lost favour, but its popularity seems to be rising again with the increased interest in taking personal responsibility for ones health.

So, once again it is being used as a herbal treatment for hot flashes commonly associated with menopause, and other menopause symptoms.

Its popularity seemed to rise when hormone replacement therapy was found to have significant side effects and health risks for many women, so, many doctors suggested alternatives for their patients to treat their menopausal symptoms, and this is when this “old” remedy started to take off again.

As well as relieving female health issues, black cohosh is also considered a mild sedative, an excellent anti-inflammatory alternative and is useful for relieving muscle aches. Also, black cohosh has been used to clear sinuses, mucus build up and reduce cough and cold symptoms.

Those seeking to reduce cramps during menstruation have also turned to black cohosh, and it is thought to increase the blood flow to the uterus, which in turn reduces the intensity of cramping. It is even believed to benefit anyone suffering from pre-menstrual syndrome.

You can take black cohosh in a number of forms, which include capsules dried herbs, tinctures and tablets, with the dried herb often being used to prepare a soothing tea.

There are few questions about the general safety of taking black cohosh. It should not be taken by anyone with liver disease or if you are suffering from blood pressure problems. It’s important for you to notify your doctor that you are taking it, so they can monitor you for signs of liver damage.

If you want to understand more about natural remedies and how they can help you live a healthier lifestyle then please read below to find out how to join our Free free newsletter below.

When making a purchase of black cohosh, you will want to look for a product that has been standardized to contain 2.5% triterpenes glycosides. This is the active ingredient in the black cohosh root. This is important, as it has shown to be the most effective in relieving symptoms.

For liquid black cohosh products seek those with around 5% of triterpene glycosides.

Capsules that contain black cohosh can for many people be the most convenient source, as these will include many ingredients that although not yet named as beneficial, are likely to be part of the active ingredients. For menopause symptoms, one of the better black cohosh preparations is to take 40 mg daily.

*****Trivial Task*****

During the Period of Desolation, where the Hero is not committed to the Journey and Transformation, a Trivial Task sets the Hero on the right course. In Bonnie and Clyde (1967), they steal another car.

*****Final Conflict: Increased Antagonism*****

Post the Crossing of the Return Threshold and before the Master of Two Worlds and Selves, a hell of a lot happens that is rarely given mention. The Final Conflict (a metaphor for this stage) follows a distinct process. It is post the initial catharses and the returning confidence of allies, that the antagonist’s threat increases. This is often the point of a hand-to-hand battle. In Straw Dogs (1971), Tom tries, for the first time, to shoot the door down.

*****Symbolism*****

Symbolism is an underrated aspect of storytelling. The degree of symbolism used in the most successful stories and screenplays is enormous. In Brokeback Mountain (2005), the passing of the train symbolises Journey. Similarly, the mirror that Jack twist looks into symbolises reflection and dissatisfaction of the Ordinary Self.

*****Shape Shifter and Antagonist relationship******

Post the Crossing of the Return Threshold and before the Master of Two Worlds and Selves, a hell of a lot happens that is rarely given mention. The Final Conflict (a metaphor for this stage) follows a distinct process. The Shape Shifter, who has often been close to the antagonist, may be saddened by his (or her) death. In Straw Dogs (1971), Amy is saddened at Charlie’s death.

Uncertain Times Ahead For Pak-Rulers

The growing confrontation between Judiciary in Pakistan and army rulers led by Gen. Parvez Musharraf indicates that military rule which was tolerated in the past is losing its popular support and desire for restoration of democracy is growing stronger. The Pak General who is also the President has been doing a fine balancing act of hobnobbing with Islamist fundamentalists on one hand and riding the American band wagon for war against terrorism on the other.

The troubles for President Musharraf have been growing as he is finding it increasingly difficult to please both the lobbies and resentment against him is growing. While the tribals in North West Frontier province and Balochistan are annoyed with Pak General for his support to US forces, the American Congress and other agencies feel that General Musharraf is not doing enough to tackle the Al Qaeda which is finding safe hiding places in no man land on Afghan-Pak border.

This duplicity was problematic enough, but the Army has created fresh problems for it by going for removal of Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court Iftihar Chaudhary. The result was that opposition parties in Pakistan suddenly found a cause which could prove to be a rallying point for all of them. In words of Aayaz Mir, a prominent column writer in Dawn, it was first time that judiciary had shown courage as in the past it has been endorsing the orders of the military rulers without close examination.

Upset by this turn of events which saw black coats that is members of the Pakistan bar leading the agitation instead of following and demanding end of army rule has raised hopes that undercurrent for democratic rule in Pakistan is strong. The coterie surrounding Pak General acted like all autocratic regimes by not only using strong arm tactics to suppress agitation but also started attacking the media. This clearly brought out the fact that General who had been boasting and trying to take credit for the fact that media was free in Pakistan has tried to clamp down on it at first indication of trouble.

This is not to suggest that General is on the way out but he would not find it easy to curb the judiciary, clamp down on media and at the same time get endorsement from everyone to remain the head of the State as well as chief of Army staff. There will be resistance in the Parliament and may be in the street as well as in the legal forums. General Musharraf after having lasted a full term is shaky enough not to be satisfied by holding one office only as he feels that at present he is riding a tiger and the moment he dismounts he may become the victim of the tiger.

This, however, has not prevented the Gen. Musharraf, a great survivor and one who can easily change tactics from trying hard to neutralize growing opposition against him. According to reports he has sent out feelers to Benazir Bhutto at present in exile to make it difficult for opposition to unite. He has also distanced himself from the ugly scenes witnessed in Islamabad in which the Chief Justice under suspension at present was manhandled by security forces who did not spare even his wife. But neither summons from Army house or strong arm tactics have worked so far.

At present the complaints against Chief Justice are being heard by judicial council headed by acting Chief Justice Rana Bhagwan Das. No early verdict is expected as judges would find it difficult to endorse the action by the Government and at the same difficult to turn against their own fraternity. As such one can say with certainty that in days to come problems for Pakistan President and Army Chief will multiply and he would find it more difficult to convince the masses that he alone should exercise power to save Pakistan. There are examples in plenty where Generals had to go after one term as army found that time has come to retire to the barracks as men at helm have become a liability instead of being described as saviours of the country.

As for India it will have to keep a close watch because uncertainty in Pakistan is not in the interest of the people of sub-continent. More so it will make it difficult to keep the peace process and on going talks with Pakistani leadership going. There is also a danger that with army moving out, the fundamentalists groups or hard core Islamists may assume power. The current mood in Pakistan is certainly anti-American despite generous pouring of money and weapons by them to bolster the regime of Gen. Musharraf.

Pak economy also is stronger and in better health at present but this would not win any points for General who has to choices before him either to quit gracefully or be ousted as his dependence on strong arm methods become more till they reach a breaking point. This will also spell trouble for India in border State of Jammu and Kashmir where the militants have been subdued to some extent with many groups seeking talks instead of confrontation including Hurriyat leaders.

One only hopes that present period of uncertainty will not be long and Pakistan will find a just and democratic solution to its problems.
