How to Choose a Therapist

Getting a recommendation from a close family member or friend is probably the best way to obtain a therapist. Not unlike medical doctors all therapists have a particular field in which they specialize. Some may be good at one field and not at another, so matching the right doctor with the best patient is very important. Many times your general practitioner will can refer you to a good therapist. They would know who has a specialty on the field you may need. Many times people check online or go through their local telephone books to look for a reputable therapist. When dealing with an insurance company, more than likely they will set you up for an appointment to see a group of three panelists, who will review your case and direct you to a couple of well known doctors whom can treat your situation.

They will generally have a brief interview with the therapist to see if they are right to treat your case. It is very important for them to set you up with a doctor that you will be at ease with and not feel uncomfortable speaking with. Furthermore many doctors will now set up a small interview as a getting to know you basis so you can feel them out and they can get a good read on your demeanor with them. When you see a therapist you leave yourself open to perhaps a lot of criticism and can place yourself in a vulnerable situation. They will assure you that it is all part of the healing process so it would be necessary for you to open up and allow them the chance to help you. It is imperative though that you want the help in the first place. Trust is the biggest issue between the patient and the therapist, and must be maintained at all times, in order for it to work out. This must be the safe place for the patient. Having this safe place is the single most important place for the patient as they will be bearing all and feel alone and practically helpless.

The emotional and physical environment must be a steady balance and be a warm and inviting home base for the therapy to be successful. Having everything in a calm state and relaxed the patient is more likely to open up and find that inner problem that must be eliminated through help of the therapist. This will be a support group of one and will allow the patient to, not feel obligated to open up because someone else has, it is only the two of you in the room. The therapist will not ridicule you or put you down, as they are there to be a friend, and a trusted ear. You will always have dignity and self worth when it comes to the therapist. This person that you will not really know is going to hear the most personal and possibly embarrassing things about you, they are not there to judge or make assumption, they are there to help. When you make the initial call more than likely you will not speak to the therapist, do not get discouraged as they are usually quite busy, instead make sure you leave your name and that you want to see a therapist, then leave your phone number, if you do not feel comfortable with leaving your home number leave a cell phone number instead.

Speaking with someone about your problem other than a trained and professional therapist may be detrimental to your condition or problem, it would be best to wait until you speak to this professional and keep it in strict confidence, as there is such thing as patient therapist confidentiality. It is best that you do not leave a detailed message with the secretary as she is not a doctor and really has no business knowing why you wish to speak to the doctor. If they insist that you tell them, they should be reported. Wait for the doctor, as chances are they will get back to you within a few days anyway, if not that very same day. When you receive the call back they will identify themselves as the therapist, tell them that you are looking for an appointment. Do not speak about your situation on the telephone, as you never really know whom you are speaking with. In short, the therapist will see you and with all the training that they have received and the willingness to fix the problem within yourself, you will be fast on the road to recovery. Good luck

After serving in World War II Tom Bowen worked at the Geelong Cement Works as a general hand. He was quite athletic and played numerous sports. It was through his love of sports, and regular attendance at sporting events, that Mr. Bowen became interested in massage and other forms of soft tissue manipulation.

Tom Bowen had no “hands-on” training as we know it, but is thought to have been powerfully influenced by a man at the footy club who was himself a professional “manipulator.” The two spent many hours exchanging ideas.

Ultimately, however, it was Tom Bowen’s genuine desire to be of service and help others that led to the discovery of his technique.

In 1974, Mr. Bowen met Oswald Rentsch at a conference for naturopaths and natural therapists in Adelaide, Austalia. Bowen invited Ossie, a practicing massage therapist, to learn from him. Ossie traveled with his wife Elaine to Tom’s clinic in Geelong for a short visit that was to last for two and half years.

This can be a touchy subject. There are many reasons to keep your maiden name, take your husband’s last name or come up with a hyphenated last name.

Option 1: Keeping your maiden name

This is sure to raise a few eyebrows and stir up a little gossip with the older relatives and family friends. Most of the time this is done when a woman has an established career or name for herself in a given field. She doesn’t want to start with a new name and have to build her reputation or name recognition under that new last name. This is an understandable reason to keep a maiden name. Any other reason may signal that a woman is hesitant in joining her new family or has underlying issues with her new husband.

Option 2: Take your husband’s last name

Changing your name to your husband’s last name when you marry is the most traditional way to go. It shows both families and the world that you are giving up your last name to become a part of a new family. You’re not forsaking your family. You are becoming part of a new family unit with your husband. If you don’t want to fully part with your maiden name, make it your middle name.

It demonstrates to your husband that you love him so much that you willingly and gladly want to carry his last name as your own. You two are building a life together and it makes sense to have the same last name. What about when children come along? Mom and dad will have the same last name … just like the good old days when people put family first.

Option 3: The hyphenated last name.

Some men and women change both their names to a hyphenated combination of the man’s last name and the woman’s maiden name. This is trendy and modern. It takes a really flexible guy to change his last name at marriage.

Most of the time if there is a hyphenated last name, it is just the woman that does this. Maybe there is no one left to carry on the legacy of her maiden name? This way she can keep a family name alive. Maybe she has built up a solid career under her maiden name but wants to show her husband that she also wants to carry his name. The hyphenated combination last name is a good compromise.

The man and woman should talk about what happens when children come along in the future. Will they carry the hyphenated name or only the last name of the father? Get this discussion out of the way right away to avoid any problems in the future with the naming of the children.

A friendly discussion over the topic at a nice dinner is probably the best setting to talk about this topic. This might be a sensitive subject if you are deciding to do something non-traditional and have a strong opinion. It isn’t a show-stopper but is certainly worthy of some frank discussion so that both the man and the woman are on the same page on this topic. Again, remember that marriage is about compromise and this will be one of the first compromise issues to come up. So start off the marriage on the right track with a decision that you have both have talked about and are happy with.

Mental disorders in children are often times not spoken of or given attention to. However, with the shifts that are taking place rapidly in every day life, it has caused several children to react to the changes by developing a mental disorder. Over twenty percent of children today are affected by a mental disorder. Following are the five most common disorders that may be found in children.

1. Anxiety disorders. This includes a consistent change in anxiety and mood. If your child has gone through severe changes or a trauma, it often moves into an anxiety disorder. It can also be a result of emotional stress. If there were feelings of fear, anger or low self-esteem associated with a situation, it can move into anxiety by the child. Anxiety disorder is often highlighted by different phobias that your child may have. If your child seems to be secluding themselves continuously, are having problems at school or their attitude has changed, then they may be suffering from an anxiety disorder. Counseling, as well as medication is available for anxiety disorders.

2. Attention-deficit disorder. Attention-deficit disorder is also known as ADD or with hyperactivity, ADHD. This is becoming a more common problem in many children. It often includes the characteristics of hyper-activity, a lack of a retention span, and the inability to concentrate. Often times, this mental disorder will cause disruptions in school and family life. It will most often be seen by the child’s continuous movement at school and at home. They will also not be able to stay on one task for long and often times cannot complete it. The child, because of the inability to concentrate and the amounts of energy that accompany this, will disrupt the order and culture of the school, social and home environments. This disorder can be diagnosed and treated with medication.

3. Autism and development disorders. These types of mental disorders have several levels of functioning and problems. Often times, children with these disorders will have a hard time understanding language, feelings, and the culture and world around them. Learning difficulties are often accompanied by autism and development disorders. If your child has a hard time reading, writing, communicating, or functioning at school, they may have autism or a development disorder. There are several special programs that are available for those with autism and development disorders. Those who have studied this disorder have several programs that they can offer for severe or normal cases in order to allow your child to learn and function at a normal level
.
4. Mood Disorders. This includes things like depression, anger, fear and sadness. It is natural for a child to have these feelings and express them. However, if it is a mood disorder, than these different feelings are out of control. As a result, they are either oppressed or expressed in destructive manners. They will often have a hard time being consistent in functioning at home or in school because of the mood swings that they are going through. This can also be solved through medication and therapy. Often times, mood disorders are caused by constant shifts and changes that are happening at home and school. By allowing your child to express this and make them feel secure about these changes, it can help in eliminating mood disorders.

5. Depression disorder. This is similar to mood disorder; however, it is one of the most common types of mental illnesses that children are faced with. Many times, this comes from a child going through a tragic event, such as a loss in the family or a natural disaster. Usually, the child will become quiet and not be as sociable. Their grades in school may also drop and repressed feelings will begin to show up in ways that are not controlled. If your child seems to be showing behaviors that are not normal, then they may be having a problem with depression.

There are several different behaviors that affect both adults and children. It is becoming more apparent that these mental illnesses are apparent in children. If you are finding that your child is not acting as they ordinarily would, or are being disruptive with daily activities, then it is possible that they could have a mental disorder. If you believe this is true, then it is best to take them to a physician to get the disorder diagnosed. You will then be offered a variety of options, depending on the disorder, from psychotherapy to medication.

If you believe that your child is having problems functioning in home or school life, or is repressing feelings, then it is best to act accordingly. By defining the mental disorder that your child has, you will be able to move in the appropriate ways in order to allow them to have a normal childhood.

Is Your Girl Faking (Part 2)

The statistics that I read say that 70% of women fake orgasms. So I guess that means there is a good chance that your and my girl are faking as well. What are we doing wrong? Maybe she’s not comfortable with us or maybe were just not doing something right. Faking doesn’t mean she’s not enjoying it just means she’s not enjoying to her full potential. So how do you know if she’s faking? I am going to tell you. In this article I am going to tell you why she might be faking it.

So why is it that girl fake orgasm? I am going to try and enlighten you.

1.-Probably the main reason girl’s fake orgasms are because they have never had one. That’s right many girls have never had an orgasm. I hate to tell you this men but it’s usually your fault that the women haven’t had an orgasm. You just want to be quick and get done instead of taking care of your lady.

2.-Some women have different body types that don’t allow them to produce enough lube or they have very thin vaginal walls. Both of these will make a woman sore very fast. In turn there usually isn’t enough time to have an orgasm before getting too sore.

3.-The last one that I think is terrible because it is usually the mans fault is that she thinks if she doesn’t have an orgasm every time then she is going to upset you. That’s not fair to the girl. It puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on the girl and a lot of strain on the relationship.

So now the important part is to get her to stop faking. In order to do this you are going to have to be open with her. The two of you have to carry on good conversation together. You as a guy have to learn to understand why she does it and what you can do to help her. Sometimes all it takes is to be a little more caring and gentle and then everything will fall into place.

Naming your baby can seem like a daunting task. However, there are many ways to make it easier, and it’s important to remember that this should be an enjoyable time. Naming your baby will be just one of the first of many wonderful gifts you will give to him or her.

·-Keep a list of all the names you’ve thought of handy, this way you can add new names to it as you hear or think of them.

·-Talk about it with others. If you’re comfortable with the entire family getting involved in the naming process don’t be afraid to ask them what they think. One of them might know the perfect name or perfect person to name your baby after.

·-If you don’t want to be pressured by others about your baby’s name, or don’t want others involved in the naming process, consider not telling people the names you have chosen until after the birth.

·-Be compromising with your spouse. It’s important that you both like the name. If necessary, use one person’s choice for the given name and the other’s choice for the middle name.

·-Choose names for both genders even if the ultrasound has told you are having one sex or the other. They do sometimes get it wrong!

·-Be flexible. If possible have a couple of names picked out. You may find that when your baby finally makes his appearance he doesn’t look like an “Andrew” at all!

·-Most children have 3 names, but this isn’t mandatory. If you prefer, you can choose to use just a middle initial, have no middle name, or have several middle names. Remember, however, that a very long name can be a problem in the future when filling out forms.

·-Think about using the same first initial as another member of the family-this can become inconvenient later on when initials are used to identify possessions in the household.

·-Consider calling your baby by their middle name if the first name must be handed down. This avoids the “Junior” complex and makes your child feel like an individual.

·-If using a family name, ask around to see if other relatives intend to use the same name. You could end up with many family members with exactly the same name and this might not be a good thing.

·-If you don’t want to use family names you can use just the initials. For example, if your father’s given and middle names are “Robert Douglas” you may decide to name your baby “Ryan David” and this will have special meaning to you.

·-You can also use ethnic variations of names that have meaning for you. If your grandfather’s name was Giovanni, for instance, you may choose “John” which is the English form of that Italian name.

·-Another common choice is to use the Mother’s maiden name as a middle name.

·-If you are stuck on 2 names and can’t decide which one to use, consider combining them. Many wonderful names these days originated from that solution. For example, Carleigh and Katelyn.

·-Avoid cutesy names or using a nickname as a permanent name. This can backfire when your child is 65 and still going by the name of “Baby”.

·-Beware of names you give your baby while you are pregnant. Sometimes they can stick and be very difficult to get rid of. You don’t want your baby going through life with a name like “Peanut”!

·-Don’t choose to name your baby after a beloved pet! Your son might find it disconcerting to discover that you named him “Ben” after your favorite goldfish!

·-Don’t choose the name of someone you dislike. Even if you love the name, you might find it difficult to get over the negative connotations this name brings along with it.

·-Don’t tell your other children that they can name the baby. You’d be surprised at how many Sponge Bob Square Pants we’d have if everyone did this!

·-Say the name you’ve chosen out loud-does it sound good? Melodious, harsh?

·-Shout it out the back door several times. Do you feel comfortable using this name?

·-Don’t be pressured by anyone. The most important thing about this decision is that the name is one you and your partner like.

·-Don’t rush. This is an important decision-names are permanent things! Take your time, and most of all really enjoy the process.

Suicide is among the top ten leading causes of death and has no regard for age, sex, or ethnic background. Suicide is among the top three causes of death among the young population of today’s society. As difficult as those statistics are suicide is among the top five causes of death among the pre-teens. Suicide is nothing to laugh at any age but the thought of someone so young with so much to live for is even less appealing. Teen suicide is getting worse every day all around the world. Many people ask why such youth would want to take their life for or what they possibly have to be stressed about. Many teens feel the pressure to be the best in grade, best in sports, and to be popular. These ideals can be very overwhelming and cause anxiety and stress. There are the teens that have been severely abused and neglected and are now seriously depressed. Teens that figure out they are gay and have to deal with the rejection of family and friends are at high risk too. Then there are those teens that suffer from a mental illness that has not been treated.

Teenagers and pre-teens have a very rough time trying to adjust their life from children to growing adults and the world sometimes is not all that forgiving. Teens are sometimes hardest on themselves and there are those who cannot handle the struggle and this is not the time in their lives when they are communicating with their parents so it is very difficult to see when they are moving into a dangerous state of mind. More than 50 percent of high school students have entertained the idea of suicide at one time or another. More than 5 percent admit to trying it at least once. This is a very real cry for help and should not ever be taken lightly especially if there is no communication in the home and your teenager does not have anywhere else they can go the next method of communicating to get someone’s attention is through acting out. It is very important to talk with your teenagers and also watch them to see how they are acting. Don’t be afraid to ask them how they feel and let them know that you are there for them when and if they want to talk. Some signs to watch for:

–Personality changes
–Trouble with friends (girl or boyfriend)
–Becoming isolated and withdrawn
–Schoolwork quality changed
–Trouble concentrating
–Choosing behavior that is contrary to how they are normally
–If this is a daughter, is she pregnant
–Has there been attempts to run away from home
–Begin using drugs or alcohol
–Physical complaints
–Eating or sleeping patterns changed

If you remotely think your teenager may be considering harming themselves in any way, talk to them, talk to someone but do not stay silent. Many times your teenager will talk to someone else because they do not want to disappoint you. Make sure you know what is going on with your teen. Listen hard and don’t judge them or get mad. Reassure them that no matter what you love them and want them to live. Offer to get them help and stay with them through the crisis. If you need to call your local crisis hot line or emergency number and have your child placed in protective care so they can hurt themselves.

What ever you do don’t pretend it isn’t happening this could be the difference between life and death for your child. There are many good programs and medications available that can be of benefit. Early intervention and help can lead to a full recovery and happy life. Prove to your child or any child in your life that life is worth living. Tell them to not give up and help is coming. There is a brighter world out there and it has much to share. We as the adults need to be able to see the threats around us and help our teens survive these years of torment literally. Think about the future and don’t let any teen become another statistic. Watch and listen to your children. It takes more than words to hear what really is going with them.

PSP Game Review Ratchet and Clank - Size Matters

Ratchet and Clank was originally an action adventure game for the Playstation 2, now it has evolved into a whole series with a very dedicated following. Not even Sony thought this game would be as popular as it is today. Size Matters is the newest title in the series, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters is the first title in this series for the PSP System.

The first thing I realized about this game is that it looks great. When you start in the story mode, you are greeted with a great intro scene. You can tell from this scene that the graphics are terrific. In the game, the details of the graphics are amazing. Ratchet especially looks great, even better than he does in some of the other titles in this series.

I can’t even stress enough how fantastic the graphics are. Of all the games I have seen go from PS2 to PSP this game is the one that has looked the best so far. Your surroundings have the smooth textures that the series is known for, as well as detailed scenery and great enemies. The frame rate in this title is surprisingly great; I have not yet seen it go below 30 frames per second, regardless of the different actions on the screen. A lot of the special effects from other Ratchet and Clank titles were carried over to Size Matters, so you can look forward to that. So far this is one of the most visually impressive games I have seen for the PSP system.

This game is similar to the other titles in the series, but like most Ratchet and Clank releases there are all new additions that you won’t find on any other title. They generally give you a little something extra in each Ratchet and Clank game, probably so the series doesn’t “get old” after a while. Some of the things that stay the same are, you can still buy weapons through out different parts of the stages, and you still defeat enemies the same way you did in the other games, with a gun or a melee weapon.

In this game there is a new upgrade element which allows you to improve Ratchet and Clank’s armor and capabilities, this is a new feature. You will know it is time to upgrade when it starts getting harder for you to stay alive, or if you are dying too quickly it might be because you are not fighting enough, which means you’re not collecting enough bolts, which means you can’t expand your life-bar. You will see that being a solid warrior has its rewards.

One of the biggest attractions to this title is Clank. In Clanks playable segments, not only are you playing as Clank in a regular stage, but you also use him to play a variety of different kinds of mini-games. There is one mini-game where Clank has to take control of a robot and defeat other bots around him in a Battle-bots like playground. Another game will remind you of Lemmings, in this level Clank has to guide little robots to “safe houses”. You will also be able to travel into space and shoot down enemies that stand in your way. The cool thing about this level is that Clank turns into a giant version of himself that you get to control.

This game has a lot of unexpected things in it. For instance, the dialog is hilarious. This makes it way easier to get into this game. The dialog and cut-scenes make the game more fun and engaging. It makes you want to keep playing just to see what they will come up with next. This is one of those games that is hard to just play for a minute. Once you start playing you won’t want to put it down. There is also a great online/multi-player game. You can have up to 4 players compete per battle. Setting up the games, picking a character, and choosing your name will all be like in other Ratchet and Clank online games.

If you have ever played a Ratchet and Clank game before, you will have no trouble getting used to the controls. The only little quirk I came across in this game is that you might come across an occasional camera issue, but there are two different camera modes you can toggle between so this may not be an issue for you. If you do have issues you can easily reset the camera with the L and R buttons. I would recommend this game to anyone. It has a humorous plot line, great single player, online multi-player, and the ability to grow your characters, this game is one of the best values available on the PSP system. Fans and people who have never played Ratchet and Clank will love this game. I give it 9 out of 10.

Mission Style Furniture - Get this Classic Look in Your Home

If you like your furniture built solid and built to last with no frills or needless embellishment, then Mission Style furniture is what you’re looking for. The Mission or Arts and Crafts Movement was a backlash against the extravagant, over-the-top designs of the Victorian era and also against the mass produced furniture emerging after the industrial revolution. In the late 1890s, craftsmen such as Gustav Stickley led the charge to incorporate clean, geometric lines and natural materials to produce structurally sound pieces that emphasized the originality of the craftsman and his handiwork.

Telltale signs of Mission Style furniture include visible joints, such as the mortise and tenon that was popular at the time and continues to serve furniture makers today, as well as quarter-sawn wood which gave the grain a beautiful look. Nails and rivets were often left exposed to add a gleaming contrast to the wood or upholstery. While the philosophy seems to set-up decades of fabulously boring furniture, it was anything but. Rather, Mission furniture was beautifully designed, with manufacturers relying on exquisite craftsmanship and finishing techniques to add serene elegance to an item.

The Mission Style has been revived recently with many furniture manufacturers producing sturdier, solid wood pieces built to be passed on from generation to generation. This philosophy has been extended to much of the aesthetic of contemporary furniture. Clean, sharp geometric lines and a lack of ornamentation along with a renewed sense of pride in craftsmanship are present in much of today’s furniture.

If you’re interested in getting the Mission look in your home search out solid, rustic-looking pieces that appear to have aged well or newer pieces that look like they can stand the test of time. Rich wood tones like mahogany and stained oak are the trademarks of classic Mission Style, but modern pieces can be found in a wide array of colors, wood types, and finishes. Good luck as you work toward creating a beautiful Mission look in your home.

It appears that the hottest naming trend today is towards individuality. We are opting for names that are less familiar and that give our children a feeling of distinction and uniqueness (as a matter of fact, since 1993 there have been close to 1000 girls actually named “Unique” each year in North America.) In the 1950s, the top 10 names for both boys and girls made up a whopping 25 % of all names given to babies each year. In the 2000s, the top 10 boys and girls names account for only 10% of all names. This means that we are choosing a wider variety of names-and tending to avoid the old standards that were so popular in the past.

So what, exactly, are the biggest naming trends today?

Old Fashioned is Fashionable:

Traditional names from the 1800s are definitely back in fashion, especially for girls. Keep in mind, though, that some of these names are incredibly popular and found consistently on the top 10 list. However, other names have been pulled from the less popular ranks and are starting to get new attention. These names include Alice, Charlotte, Lillian, and Miriam for girls; Julian, Lance, Russell, and Oliver for boys.

James not Jim-Elizabeth not Liz:

Despite the desire for individuality these days, there are some popular traditional names that have stood the test of time and will not be shaken from our favorites list. This is especially true for boys’ names, where we tend to be less adventuresome. But even here we are creating new trends by avoiding the common nicknames and retaining the full formal names that sound more distinguished and less ordinary. For example, Jim, Bob, and Bill are now very firmly James, Robert, and William, and Elizabeth will tell you that she is definitely not a “Liz”.

Creative Spelling 101:

Where we were once happy to simply replace a “Y” with an “I” at the end of a name, we are now tending to be more creative with the entire spelling of a name. This is especially true for those traditional favorites. For instance, Nicholas has been given a modern twist with Nickolas, Niclas, Nikolaus, Nichalas, etc…and Emily is now often Emalee, Emilly, Emmaly, or Emyle. An interesting consideration, if you are keen to follow this trend, is that the Institute for Naming Children Humanely (yes, this does actually exist!) states that the average child with an unusually spelt name will spend 58 days of her life spelling her name out for people!

Let’s Be Inspirational:

Another common trend today is to name a child using a word that people relate to with positive feelings. These inspirational names can be of places, sentiments, occupations, or have other meanings that people generally feel good about. Names such as River, Faith, Justice, Unity, Rider, and Judge are examples of these names. These names can be very individual and creative, but care must be taken that they don’t create a stereotypical impression that your child may not want to live up to.

Last Names First:

Surnames, which have been popular in the past for use as middle names, are now becoming a hit as first names. These names tend to be strong sounding and androgynous, which is another up and coming trend. Especially popular, are surnames that contract to feminine nicknames for girls, or masculine nicknames for boys. Examples of these are Madison (Maddy), Emerson (Emmy), Patterson (Patty) for girls or Jackson (Jack), Bradshaw (Brad), Hudson (Hud) for boys.

What’s Good For The Goose:

Unisex names are also a top pick these days. However, since names that were once equally popular boys or girls names seem to establish a more feminine feel over time, this trend is more common with girls. Boys with unisex names can often be the object of teasing and find this hard to live with. Some of these names include Ashley, Courtney, Jody, Kelsey, Kim, Lindsay, Morgan, Shelby, and Taylor. However, some unisex names seem to have maintained a firm footing in both the boys’ and girls’ camp. Examples of these are Alex, Brett, Cameron, Riley, Rory, and Quinn.

Something Exotic:

Our desire for individuality in a name has taken us to different parts of the world in search of a creative choice. Celtic names (Irish, Welsh, Gaelic, and Scottish) have been particularly popular in the past few years, bringing us boys names such as Liam, Dylan, Aidan, and girls names like Brynn, MacKenzie, and Kaitlin. However, Russian, Swahili, Hawaiian, and other exotic ethnic names are gaining popularity. How about Elan (Native American), Kia (African), Laela (Arabic), and Helena (Greek)?

Can’t Find It? Invent It!

For those who really want a name that is the height of creativity-one of the newest trends is to just invent it. One of the most popular methods of inventing a name is to simply string two or three different sounds together into something that is pleasing to the ear. It seems that the sounds that top inventor’s lists are sharp beginnings with long vowel sounds in the middle (i.e. Kay, Jay, Bai, Hay, Ty) and then certain standard endings are added. Some examples of these names would be Kaylin, Baileigh, Jayden, and Braydon. A second inventive trend is to join two names into something original. How about Katelyn, Leeann, Raeann, Tedrick, or Tyshawn?
It’s All About Branding:

We’ve all heard the talk these days about how important branding is to a product’s success. But what about brand names for your baby? This is one of the newest and most controversial trends in naming today. This trend apparently reflects the aspirations that parents have for themselves and for their children, and can include brand names of luxury cars, perfume, clothing, and even food. So if you want a really different name for your child, look to your favorite consumer goods. Choices today include Infiniti, Chevy, Chanel, Cannon, and Armani. Believe it or not, in the year 2000, 2 babies were actually named ESPN!

So, if you are into trends and want something a bit different in a name-try one of the above. Whether you decide to reinstate or revamp an old-fashioned favorite, or create something totally new, your baby will have a name that is modern and uniquely his or hers!
