As you read compare what I am saying to what is going on in your life. You May be surprised. First of all did you fall for the old line that a particular offer is so good you best not miss out, so in your thirst to make money you joined up. A few days go by and then the old familiar emails start to arrive, so and so has joined your team, so there is now money waiting for you. Ha-ha that’s a joke. JUST TRY AND GET THAT MONEY. First you will have to upgrade to the premium level and that will cost you money. I am sure you agree with me so far.

Take a look at what you have joined, is there any products at the end of the line to sell. Nine times out off ten you find there are not, where does the so called money come from? you certainly are not going to see any of it. IF you are one of the top guys and have been lucky to get your hands on some money, it will be because you have lied your way there. The lies you tell are not yours, you really believe in what you are doing, but these lies have been told to you in such a way as to be totally believable.

The internet is weighed down with tons of this rubbish, everyone trying to make a buck, BUT they are all doing it dishonestly and telling prospective clients, down-liners or whatever your organization calls them, this is the greatest thing to hit the internet. Lies, lies, lies. The world is full of people doing whatever they see fit to gain money, whatever way they can. I will also be first to admit that there are lots of legitimate businesses out there. They all, and I mean all have products to sell, albeit some not so good and a lot are top notch products.

When you join a money making scheme it most likely will be in the Multi level marketing field (MLM). So just what is MLM all about? Practically everyone will say money, but I believe this is wrong; it is about people because without people you do not have a business at all. However this is where the whole thing goes to pot, what is the person called you signed you up? Most times he is called your sponsor and as such it is his duty to help and encourage you, so you can be successful. Tell me, can you tell me who your sponsor is? Do you ever communicate with him/her? Are they there when you have troubles of one sort or another? I think you will find they are just a name and nothing more.

From time to time there have been the very successful companies, selling top quality products, but also building a big organization of people. What do they have that the internet companies don’t normally have, If you said a good relationship with everybody concerned in the company, you would be correct. Can you see where I am coming from?

Do you know what the percentage of people is that join a company and stay till the bitter end, some companies will tell you they have a 95% retainer rate. That is once again Lies; studies have shown that the percentage rate is a great deal lower than that 7-8% that’s all. Why? Why is it so low? The answer is simply this, no support from those in the company who should know better. This is what happens, you join up full of great ideas and plans for all the money you are going to make. You are so excited you rush off and tell others, but who do you tell first? Yes nine times out of ten you approach your friends and relatives. However you don’t seem to give off the right sort of excitement to them. They will tell you no, your whole world falls apart.

Why did they say no? When you suddenly push with all your might towards being rich or being better off, the knocker will always have a good reason why it is a silly idea. Strangely enough they seem to know you better than you know yourself, they can give you thousands of reason why they said no, and if you had any sense at all you would quit while you are ahead.

Now I am not knocking the genuine companies, they may well have a great product and all the support you need to build a large and successful business. What really eats me is the liars and scam artists that seem to be so prolific on the internet. Is it because the internet is such a big place they think they can get away with anything they try, sadly this true for a great many people. You may be thinking at this stage that your life is over, you have thrown so much money in a big hole called the internet, your credit card may be maxed out and your check book is no longer useable. Let me assure you, the whole world is your oyster and you can be a success at whatever you do from here on in.

If people would think of others before themselves it would be a much better place to live. I believe that if you want anything in life it can be yours. If it’s in MLM then go for it with a passion, but first think of the other people below you, spend your time with them. Do it often and the magic ingredient must be passion. We have all heard the old saying “Everyday in every way I getting better and better” affirmation like this are very good, BUT without passion they are just words.

The thing that I hate just as much as the internet scams and so called money for nothing schemes, are the blatant lies you see all over the internet. When is comes to money people seem to turn into greedy mutant beasts out to devour you if at all possible. I believe if you are watchful enough and don’t be so money driven we will all see these scams for what they are.

You only have to look at all the junk mail you get in your email box; people are desperate to make that extra dollar, they never stop to think about the other person. All they can see is a possible dollar or two coming there way. When the internet first began life, email was a wonderful way to communicate. But now we are almost too scared to pick up the mail, junk mail has ruined a perfectly good system of communication. The internet has gone from a great place to surf and find allsorts of information, to a place where one would sooner not be anymore. Pop up windows, pop under windows, robots that scow the internet for email addresses, nothing is private anymore.

Don’t get me wrong I love the internet and I intend to make money out of it, but not at the cost of human grief. I will not hurt anybody in my pursuit of a few extra dollars. I write e-books and software, some I give away like this report, and some I sell. I am very careful where I tread when walking in the grounds of the internet. If I have brought doubts to your mind then I have done a good thing if it saves you from throwing good money after bad. Please bear in mind that these are only my thoughts and not scientifically proven. Just be aware of the scams and so called money for nothing opportunities. One place was even offering to build the business for me, no work on my behalf, What a joke.

Friends from the Creative industry generally lamented about being under paid and under appreciated while clients were genuinely concerned if they can recoup their investments in creative and production costs. After I published “How to Pay your Advertising Agency?” at my blog and ezinearticles, I was specifically asked if I can provide an example of “Pay by Performance” with a marketing agency or advertising agency.

Assuming the client has a decent agency brief and the marketing/advertising/creative agency understood it perfectly, then they actually conceptualized an equally decent campaign; theoretically there should be good returns. However, the marketplace is a strange place where big changes can speedily shoot a hot product down into the bottom of a valley. Though rare, it has happened before. It is such uncertainties of the marketplace, doubts and fears of clients and the difficulty of quantifying the value of “creative” people that the quotation is grounds for heated debates.

I believed a fair price is one where the client and the marketing agency agreed upon. The price can be agreed upon but “unfairness” somehow would still cropped up. The client might not be able to attribute his success to the press advertisement as there was no tracking device established. The designer might start to believe he has been paid peanuts when the sales results hit the roof. Even nothing was said and expressed; dissatisfaction can quietly seep in and adversely affect an otherwise cohesive working relationship.

So instead of offering or accepting a fixed price, both parties can consider the “pay by performance” option. To “pay on results” or “pay by performance” is not as simple as it might appear. Marketing, advertising and communications is largely a skill based, creative industry; where the “products” are ideas and action taken. Just as a beautiful fireworks display is over when it’s over, ideas exposed can never be taken back to reuse and recycle in their original forms. I am sure you can see the challenges of a “pay by results” program. The real costs that were tough to measure are the creative cost though it is not impossible. To effectively deploy “pay by performance”, you would need to overcome various challenges, and those had been discussed at another of my article, “Does Pay by Performance works with an Advertising Agency?”.

After considering those factors and you still think “pay by performance” is for you, you may like to consider this working model.

1. Established what constitutes sunk cost, which could easily mean time (for research, analysis, brainstorming, conceptualization, copywriting, visualizing, story-boarding, desktop execution), material (such as photography with photographer, models, studio, props or purchased photo images or database for direct mail), traveling expenses.

2. Establish the quantum of such cost. Where cost cannot be quantified, you can check with your Association of Accredited Ad Agencies for recommended rates.

3. Client needs to agree to the quotation and to paying the sunk costs

4. Both parties need to agree on the performance measure. This includes fixing the deliverables and determining the expected results for each of these deliverables. One of the most obvious, and accurate, deliverable would be response to the campaign. This is usually measured by including some kind of direct response within the campaign. It could be a call-in number, an email or a web site.

5. Payment of the performance level should have a clear end date. Companies should not be afraid to pay. Alternatively, they can put a cap on the quantum, assuming that they are expecting a runaway success for the campaign. Again, this cap needs to be agreed. For example, both parties can agree to a $50,000 or a $5,000,000 cap to the performance bonus portion of the agency fees depending on the size of the project.

There are of course many ways to spin this. Above is simply one way to look at a complex arrangement. I am sure you can come up with a few creative ways to do this.

One of the most powerful ways of tuning into your inner guidance is through journalling — taking some quiet time to capture insights as your intuition “speaks” to you. For some, jotting down thoughts may come fairly easily. For others, journalling may sound too much like hard work. Well, it doesn’t have to be! Juice yourself with “joy journalling” — it’s fun, easy and rewarding…

A journal of joy…
Author, Denise Linn once told me that she used to keep a traditional style of journal for many years. But one day she realised that she mostly only wrote in it when she was feeling grumpy about something — almost never when she was feeling happy! Flipping through her old journals, she got the overwhelming impression that her life was only made up of unhappiness and disappointments, which was NOT the picture she wanted to create for herself.

So she decided to change this. She bought herself a new notebook to write in, which she called her “joy journal”. She started writing in it ONLY about things that made her feel good — what she was grateful for in her life, things she noticed during the day that gave her joy, and all those little achievements that otherwise go unremarked. Find your voice…

That means you don’t have to worry about neat writing or perfect layout, and as for spelling, punctuation and grammar — who cares? Don’t judge it or angst about it, just go for it!

Set aside some dedicated time, say once a week — an hour is great. Begin your journalling session by grounding yourself and taking a few deep breaths. Allow yourself to slide gently into the rhythm and flow of your thoughts as they come. You may choose to start by asking yourself a question or two to get your thoughts going: What gives me joy? What am I most grateful for in my life? What made me laugh today? What did I do really well this week? What do I most wish to achieve in my life? Jot down whatever thoughts come to mind…

Discover your “joy juicers”…
If you’re getting stuck or wondering what to write, then you’re probably overthinking it. Remember, you’re not creating a work of art for posterity here! Treat it as play and just enjoy yourself. You don’t have to limit yourself to writing, either — grab a couple of old magazines, then flip through and tear out whatever words or images appeal to you. Now, follow your intuition as you lay them out and stick them onto the pages of your journal. What is the essence of a joyous experience from your life that you want to capture?

Cut and paste, sketch, doodle, stamp… have fun with your journalling and be as creative as you like! If you see a picture in a book or magazine that you really like, photocopy it and attach it to your journal. Pick up a flower or a leaf when you’re out during the day and press it between the pages. Incorporate meaningful quotes or poems that catch your eye, or jokes or silly stories that make you laugh.

With joy journalling, not only are you retraining your mind to recognise and focus on the positive things in your life, you’re also building a priceless resource of inspiration that you can delve back into later. You will discover a myriad of “joy juicers” to cheer you up in those moments when you’re feeling down and remind you that your life is filled with rich and precious moments.

When you buy a franchise opportunity, in the initial stages business cash flow can be tight. This is where sometimes family members can help out. In the initial stages some family members might be prepared to help you out at either zero or minimal wages.

Longer term their demands could grow to the point that they ask for more money than regular employees or worse still ask for a share in the business! This is not as bad as it sounds because often you can expand the business a lot faster by keeping it in the family.

When you run a franchise business it is imperative to employ people who you can trust. This is where a strong family unit comes in extremely handy. Having a loyal and trustworthy workforce gives you the opportunity to spend more time on business expansion.

Most children are now very computer literate. They can help you out, punching in data and general book keeping tasks. By involving your children in some of the children friendly tasks in the business, they will pick up skills which will be useful to them in their future business life or employment.

Your partner will be able to assist in the management of the business and take some of the stress and strains away from you. Now you both have something in common if you did not before!

So in a nutshell, the business unit can be stronger when you have family working for you. The positives far out way the negatives. But, running a franchise business and employing family members can create its own unique type of problems.

What if one of your family members, be it brother or sister is not pulling his own weight? What if he or she is not up to the task? What if he or she does not get along with other family members? This can lead to all sorts of problems. For a start, you can’t just sack them due to the emotional attachment. This is where the skills of the franchise owner really comes into play.

Another potential area of disputes is when you are employing a younger brother or sister, and the time comes to hand over the reins of the business franchise to your son who happens to be younger than both of them. Whilst your brother or sister was happy taking orders from you, they might not feel the same way towards your son.

In these situations, counselling can help. Another weapon that you could use is to make the transition gentle and over a longer spell, so that the other family members have a time and the opportunity to adjust to the new business relationship.

You will have to be careful that you all make time for yourselves. Working with people, and the day to day hassles can become tiresome especially when you all go home together. You do not want to carry on with the business disputes at home. A simple rule might be that business is not to be discussed around meal times, thereby allowing the family to discuss family issues.

When it comes to expanding your business by buying another franchise unit, the strengths of the family unit can really come into play. This is when you can give the opportunity to the strongest family member the chance to be a manager of the new unit.

Who would have thought that Email video or videos on websites would become so popular. It seems the sordid sites have been using them for years, yet may business have websites that are currently without any video clips on them. You have to ask yourself “why?”

Sending Emails with video on them is still a new concept but we have it available. Again, why are people not using it?

The real reason in our research is that it is still a new thing. Video in these formats is still in its product introductory curve, apparently still not making much progress up the slope to the dizzy heights of success.

This will change as more and more people get exposure to the technology. So will the future show people using video Emails. Absolutely. Will there be more video on websites. Absolutely.
