Email Marketing - Crafting an Effective E-mail

What else could be the quickest and most effective way of communication this day than e-mail? Probably there is no more. Whatever communication you have with friends or co-workers, email will always be the answer.

To be effective, emails should be well written depending of course with the targeted audience.

Personal Email

There is no certain rule for composing this mail since it would just be like talking to a friend. You can go as casual as you want. Anyway, this communication would be just between friends.

Business E-mail

1.-Compose a good subject line. This is the first thing that would tell the recipient if the e-mail is worth reading or not. It is not just your e-mail thatis in the mailbox of the recipient so give the recipient the reason to go read it instead of trashing it.

2.-Make it as easy read as possible. If you have a lot of points to discuss, number them and be straight. Keep it simple as well as readable.

3.-Attachments should be avoided. Make sure that if your message can actually be put in the body of the mail, do so than putting it as an attachment. Not all people would want to wait for any file to download or not all computers have available space for another more file.

4.-Let yourself be known. You need to make sure that you have identified yourself in your e-mail. A person wants to know who sends them mail. This will even make the e-mail more personalized.

5.-Be polite. Be careful of using capital letters. For some this could mean that you are angry and are shouting.

There is a lot of computer based training that could help people improve their experience and their skill. There are several key certifications that are must haves when you decide to become a computer technician, including Cisco certifications, which are highly respected, Microsoft or MCSE certifications, and A+ certification.

Getting these certifications is a great asset because you will receive industry recognition for the knowledge and proficiency level that you are currently at without question. A MCSE certification means that you know the ins and outs of the most difficult Windows operating system and the Microsoft Windows Server system. There are two exams to pass for the first A+ certification each consisting of 90 to 100 questions and ninety minutes to complete each section and you need 700 points out of 900 in order to pass. Just getting this certification will guarantee a person around $31,000 a year, more after some experience. For help obtaining an A+ certification, a person can take A+ boot camps to boost your knowledge before taking the exam.

Have you met your lists? I mean, if your list is very big, you certainly don’t know each member personally. But if you’re selling more than one product in more than one niche, how well do you know the people you’re selling to? Oh, there might be just a few people who email you on a regular basis. But do you know your group as a whole? What do they want? How to they talk? Where do they discuss the niche the list is built around?

All of these questions are very important when you consider list maintenance. The first thing you need to remember is that a list is people, not just mindless mail bot receivers. Email addresses are probably all you see, but your niche list has certain expectations. If you can’t fulfill those, it’s a sure bet that your list will dwindle.

What do they expect?

Most of the time, you’ll be part of the niche because you’re into it. You’re all about it. That’s really the best way to go about marketing. Know what you want to sell. But if you get into something new, you’ll have to do some research.

For instance, what if your kid gets this really fun toy, maybe an radio controlled car, right? And you can’t keep your hand off it. You’re just crazy about it, and see the potential in the market after doing some basic keyword researching. OK, so if this is your first experience with radio controlled cars, other buzzwords are “RC” cars, “table top cars,” “ready to run” cars, and if you don’t know what an RC servo is, you’d better find out.

Go to Google Groups or Yahoo Groups, plug in the words “RC cars +FAQs.” When you see one that says something like “RC Cars for Newbies,” you’ll find a whole catalogue of information to help you craft some fine autoresponder messages.

The whole thing is that you want the people on your RC list to trust you. If you don’t even speak their language, that will never happen and they’ll never buy.

So, where do these people play?

We’ve already talked about Google Groups and Yahoo Groups, which are both great places to find people in the RC car niche. But here’s a different idea, why not just plug RC cars into Google and see what you come up with. Webmasters with sites or blogs built around your niche are another great source of clientele.

Go to Google or your favorite search engine, and plug in “RC cars.” You’ll see a whole list of sites dedicated to the hobby. If you pick out sites that aren’t selling your product themselves, and email the webmasters. See if you can strike up a relationship with them. Eventually, you’ll be able to see if he or she would like to form a partnership. You put a link to your squeeze page on their site or blog, and you pay them 50% of whatever you make.

If the site has a PR4 or above and an Alexa rank under 100,000 it’s probably a good site where you can get traffic. If you set up more than one partnership like this, you’ll have list members and money coming in, providing you have the right product. And if you contact several webmasters, you’ll have those multiple streams of income working for you 24/7.

List building the right way and marketing to them smartly is really a system. First, have a hot product that will sell. Next, be creative about driving people to your squeeze page, which will always be the front door to your affiliate page.

Marketers fail because they forget these steps. Win! Find your niche, and pave the road to riches with a firm foundation. Then, href="http://www.myfirstlist.com/" target="_blank">start list building It’s the only way to succeed.

Largest Recall Of Pet Foods In History: The ongoing pet food recall offers a glimpse of what is wrong with entrusting your pet’s nutrition (or your own) to corporations and government regulatory agencies.

Scary Ingredients Approved By The Government: Why is “gluten” even in dry pet food? Answer, there is a constant search by manufacturers to produce lower cost food that still meets government protein and nutrient requirements. Gluten is not the only cheap and threatening additive approved by the government and added by manufacturers.

Dry Pet Foods are much like breakfast cereals. They are cooked in a mash, then extruded through nozzles at high heat and pressure. This process not only destroys nutrients, it makes much of the rest indigestible. If the ingredients originally had any nutritional value, the extrusion process is sufficient to destroy them. About the best things you can say about dry pet food is that they are “cheap and convenient”!

Feral cats and dogs would have to be starving before they would eat the ingredients found in dry pet foods. If for no other reason, these ingredients do not provide the nutrients they need to sustain life, let alone health.

Wet Pet Foods are made from the most distressed meat, animals with pus bags and tumors. Even though these animals are approved by the USDA for human consumption, some, but not all, manufacturers are reluctant to use them for humans. Even the meats that are not visibly distressed contain growth and fattening hormones, antibiotics, and highly questionable feed. Additionally, among many scary ingredients, pet foods may legally contain euthanized cats and dogs!

If you own a cat or dog, Google “Dog Food Secrets”. I was aware of much of what this book exposes, but it still left my mouth agape.

Pay Me Now, or Pay Me Later: GI and immune diseases are at an all time high. Humans and animals are on multiple medications. What are the common denominators? Fast, nutrition-less foods, chlorinated drinking water, not incorporating bioavailable vitamins, supplements and digestive aids into the daily diet, and lack of exercise.

GI disorders among cats and dogs is epidemic. Conventional medication treatment is archaic, potentially causing further damage to animals already weakened from lack of proper nutrition.

According to The Royal Society of Medicine Great Britain, “Fully 90% of all chronic disease is caused by an unhealthy intestinal system.”

It’s OK to Domesticate Cats and Dogs, but Not Their Diets

The original purpose of domesticating dogs and cats was cheap labor. Cats are used by farmers as mousers, dogs as herders, hunters, and protection.

These working relationships no doubt led to some close relationships. Over time, working animals (or more likely their offspring) were sold or given away to city folk. Today, over 90 million suburban households own an average of 1.67 cats or dogs, or over 150 million domestic cats and dogs.

Wild or feral animals hunt and eat fresh kill. They also instinctively eat grass and dirt for the micronutrients and soil-based organisms needed to properly digest the meat.

When they kill an herbivore they first consume its’ entrails which usually contain plenty of greens and digestive enzymes needed to break down, digest and eliminate the flesh. The closer pet owners come to replicating the diet of their feral relatives, the healthier and happier their domestic pets will be.

Genetic Predisposition at The Blink of an Eye

Without healthy foods, even healthy animals will decline genetically within several litters.

The best way to assure that your pet lives a long healthy life is to know how well the breeder cared for the mother, and the mother’s mother. Pets are capable of having multiple litters within their lifetime. This is common in feral animals and commercial breeders (mills). Each subsequent generation
inherits the weaknesses of the previous generations. Today, many millions of kittens and puppies are predisposed to an unhealthy life.

Resorting or Maintaining Pet Health: The good news: Animals that are predisposed to diseases are less likely to develop them when fed a healthy diet. Genetic predispositions can be bred out over several generations of proper feeding.

It is up to the pet owner to take responsibility for the health and wellbeing of their pets. Like food choices, choose your “professionals” carefully. Veterinarians that recommend a raw food diet combined with supplements and digestive aids- before medications- have your pet’s best interest at heart!

Local bookstores, libraries, and the internet offer a wealth of knowledge regarding proper care and feeding. The American Holistic Veterinarian Association website has a national directory.

An editor wrote me recently stating that my readers need to know that
until they know everything about all culinary traditions and trends,
they are not qualified to write about any food.

I was quite surprised at that attitude for I’ve sold many articles
about healthful meals, cooking for children, and vegetarian baby
food, yet I am constantly learning new ways to prepare more elegant
foods and am loathe to study the art of sauce and stock making. Can I
still write about food?

Yes, and so can you. If you fear being passed over when networking
with editors and worry that your letters will be lost in the slush
pile because you, too, have gaps in your culinary training, become an
expert…in one food topic. Then, write about it.

The “one topic” could be tropical fruits, grilling, regional cuisine,
or just one food item like beans or bread. Choose the food that
incites your passion. Explore something you’ve always found
fascinating. Let your emotions guide you on this choice and I promise
you’ll be an expert before too long.

Why should you be the expert? Say you love microbreweries and have
begun brewing your own beer. By interviewing owners of brew pubs and
picking up valuable tips, reading books, joining associations, and
building a website devoted to your topic, you position yourself as
the storehouse of all things related to beer.

You start by writing articles for your site, querying beer magazines
with your ideas to help new home brewers and pitching ideas to
travel magazines about brewery tours around the state, country or
world. While you’ve been studying this “one topic” you will have
delved deeper into the history of your passion and may decide to
write about that in a series of articles which you later turn into a
book. You are approached by a publisher to write a cookbook, not of
how to brew the beverage, but of how to use it in recipes for breads,
soups, sauces, and stews.

An hour or two each day, reading up on your topic, has led you to
become published in magazines, online and in cookbooks. Each time you
are published, your expert status grows. And it began with your
passion in one food topic.

You could choose grilling as your focus. You could take it several
directions: smoking meats, choosing woods for more flavor, grilling
meats, fish and game, grilling vegetables and fruits, baking on the
grill, reviews of different styles of grills, recipes, techniques,
and/or tools.

Perhaps your passion is baking. Start with cakes. Bake your way
through several cookbooks, study the science of baking, create
healthful cake recipes for those who avoid sugar, study cake
decoration. Turn what you learn into magazine queries, and cookbook
proposals.

Knowing about a topic includes knowing the nutritional information,
studying any medical studies that have been done about its benefits
or dangers, and reading those who have gone before you paving the way
in this area.

If you are not a nutritionist, make friends with one who can answer
your questions and point you to studies you should be reading. If you
are new to baking, apprentice with a pastry chef for a few months.
Connect with a chef who can offer advice on grilling. No matter your
expert status, you will need other experts to lift your writing to
new heights.

You need never give up learning; nor should this article be seen as
advice to avoid structured education - cooking lessons, culinary
degrees. I am only offering one means to push yourself into a solid,
and desirable food writing position.

My work with cooking for children has led to dozens of articles, an
editorial position and work on a cookbook in progress. My studies in
macrobiotics have allowed me to write about an often misunderstood
topic, and to develop recipes for those articles. My absolute need
for easy-to-prepare weekday meals, and healthful brown bag lunches
have also increased my income in the form of published articles and
recipe development.

While I may not be blessed with the time to study sauces and stocks
(yet) I will continue to declare that I am, indeed, a food writer.
You can too.
