Ford Motor Company has recently announced that it is presenting three new limited edition models to have their public debut at the forthcoming 2007 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) early this April. The three vehicles are the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR, the F-150 Foose Edition and the Ford Expedition Funkmaster Flex Edition. According to Ford, “The trio of vehicles, including the most powerful pickup and most powerful Mustang ever from Ford, demonstrates how the company is leveraging key partnerships to create exciting new products.” Ford Motor Company’s limited edition model segment has significantly increased by about 50 percent, according to the Detroit-based automaker.

First off is the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR, which will be launched next spring. This vehicle is equipped with monstrous 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine under its hood. An optional Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack is available to boost the engine’s output up to 540 horsepower (estimated output only). Inspired by the classic 1969 Ford KR mode, the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR comes with a unique exterior stripe, 40th Anniversary exterior badge, lower front air dam with chrome-trimmed functional brake ducts, large 14-inch Brembo front brakes, distinctive Carroll Shelby-signature embroidered seats, and 40th Anniversary numbered dash plaque. A type of breast cancer that is rare and gets its name from the appearance of the skin on the breast is “inflammatory breast cancer.”

Diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer is usually diagnosed at a younger age than those diagnosed with other forms of breast cancer. Inflammatory breast cancer is diagnosed in men only in very rare circumstances.

In the past, women diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer had grim survival statistics; however, new approaches in treatment offer greater chances for survival than ever before.

Symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer include:

–A breast that appears red, purple, pink or bruised

–A tender, firm and enlarged breast

–A warm feeling in the breast

–Itching of the breast

–Pain

–Ridged or dimpled skin texture, similar to an orange peel

–Thickened areas of skin

–Enlarged lymph nodes under the arm, above the collarbone or below the collarbone

–Flattening or retraction of the nipple

–Swollen or crusted skin on the nipple

–Change in color of the skin around the nipple

These same symptoms can also indicate a breast infection called “mastitis.” Mastitis occurs most often in younger women who are breast-feeding. Mastitis causes a fever and is easily treated with antibiotics. Inflammatory breast cancer does not typically cause a fever, nor does it respond to antibiotics.

Another condition in which there can be redness, warmth and swelling of the breast is caused by a previous operation or radiation therapy that involved the outer breast or underarm. These cases are not inflammatory breast cancer either.
Inflammatory breast cancer progresses rapidly. If you notice any of the above symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer, mention them right away to your physician.

If you receive treatment for a breast infection (mastitis) and your symptoms last longer than a week after starting antibiotics, ask your physician to do imaging studies of the breast or to perform a breast biopsy. If the test shows no signs of cancer and your symptoms seem to worsen, talk to your physician about getting another biopsy or ask for a referral to a breast specialist.

Treatment for inflammatory breast cancer:

Inflammatory breast cancer was treated by surgery. The mortality rate was at 100 percent. Significant progress has been made in recent years, which has improved the prognosis for a woman with inflammatory breast cancer. Once almost always fatal, the disease now results in half of women diagnosed being alive in five years and one-third of women diagnosed surviving 10 or more years.

Reconstruction after surgery is possible, but not for all women. If you undergo extensive radiation therapy your options for reconstruction are limited.

The above quote by W. Edwards Deming author of “Out of the Crisis” (1984), is relevant to my discussion on Domain names. It is I believe also relevant to anyone in any business. OK, now I have got my pontificating off my chest let me get started with my discussion on domain names.

Contrary to what another writer has published, no reputable Domain name registrant, who intends staying in business will sell you a domain name for $2.00. The Registrant has to pay a much higher wholesale price than this for the domain name in the first place, and would be making a big loss by selling for a mere $2.00. The Domain name market is very competitive, and if you shop around you will be able to purchase a Top Level Domain (TLD) name for under $10.00, but certainly not for $2.00.

Now, I have seen advertisements for Domain names for under $2.00 for $1.99 actually. But the firm in question was making this offer on the proviso that some other product or service such as a hosting account was purchased with the domain name. So the domain name part of the purchase for this particular firm would be a “loss leader”, but they would be more than compensating for this with their profit an the other products or services.

What some firms may be selling for $2.00 are not domain names, but sub-domains of someone else’s domain name. The ethics of selling these even for $2.00, I personally would find very questionable.

Earlier I mentioned Top Level Domain (TLD) names and sub-domain names. I shall explain the difference.

A Domain Name consists of several different parts. The first part is generally “http://” , for secure sites it may be “https://”. The “http” is an acronym for “hyper text transfer protocol”. The next part of a domain name is “www.”. The “www” part of course stands for the “World Wide Web”. Then there is a bit in the middle “IanMcKenziesLinks”. This middle bit can not have any spaces and needs to be written as one word, as I have done above. It is this bit that you choose and complete the appropriate searches for availability, before you plan to register a domain name. Now, the final part of a TLD name is the suffix at the end of course. This traditionally is “.com”, but it could be several other suffixes in addition, such as, “.net”, “.org”, “.biz”, “.name” and so on.

Now, I know that some article sites do not like domain names listed in the article, so I won’t do that. But, if you put the first two bits “http://www.” and the middle bit “IanMcKenziesLinks” together and add the suffix “.com” at the end, you have an example of a Top Level Domain (TLD) name.

Top Level Domain names such as I have exemplified above, can have any number of sub-domains. For example, you could have the “http://” part and replace the “www.’ part with for example “iansblog.” . This would then become a sub-domain of the Top Level Domain described earlier. There could also potentially be thousands of others.

So, if you purchase a “domain name” like the first example in the paragraph above, you are not really purchasing a domain name at all, but a part of someone else’s Domain Name over which you really don’t have any control. If the owner of the TLD name of which yours is a part for example chooses not to renew their domain name registration, then too bad,all of the “suckers” who purchased sub-domains of this TLD will lose their sites.

Why would anyone purchase a sub-domain, when Top Level Domain names are so inexpensive?

On the issue of money and costs, I would like to pick up on one other point another writer has made. This writer slammed free hosted sites. Why? I ask?

The TLD site above, in addition to the sub-domain “blog” site associated with it are both hosted free of charge. The only financial cost involved was the two year registration of the TLD name costing me a total of $17.64. That fee also includes the ICANN fee. In exchange for the free hosting there are some unobtrusive advertisements across the top of each page. Now, these ads., are related to the content on the pages of my site. There is amongst the ads a Google search bar on each page also, which i think can be quite handy. In my opinion, it certainly is a small price to pay in exchange for totally free hosting.

I reckon having both a web site, and a blog site published and “on air” for two full years for an all up cost of $17.64 is pretty good value. What do you think?

–I’d be more comfortable in my relationships with the opposite sex. I would stop agonizing about what they’re thinking of me being such a fat slob. I want them to think of me as attractive, and pleasant to be with.
–My doctor would stop nagging me. My blood pressure, my cholesterol, and my blood sugar levels would be lower, and with some effort, I’d probably regain that old energy I had in my teens.
–My friends would respect me more and seek my opinion about their own problems.

The benefits are immeasurable. If you stop procrastinating, you can enjoy these benefits today.

Tip # 75-The gym can be a scary place

If you go to the gym frequently enough, you get used to seeing certain types: the fanatics, the confident and the driven.

Melodramatic, isn’t it? Kind of embarrassing, since melodrama is one thing that’s conspicuously absent from AUNT DIMITY’S DEATH. The story keeps changing, from fairy tale to ghost story to mystery, but it never descends to deliberate tear-jerking. Which is odd, because it’s one of the few books that can consistently make my eyes sting.

Nancy Atherton has managed to break most of the rules for writing a mystery. No detective work to speak of takes place in the first hundred pages. There isn’t a real villain anywhere in the book. Or an act of violence. The mystery doesn’t involve a murder–present or past. Or even a real crime. It’s pathetic, really.

Except it isn’t. Because Lori isn’t out to catch a criminal. She’s out to heal an old, old wound. That she has to hunt down clues to do it is almost a distraction. AUNT DIMITY’S DEATH isn’t about the mystery–it’s about the characters.

And I’ll admit, that’s just the way I like it. I have figured out whodunit exactly once in all the detective stories I’ve ever read. I don’t read them for the puzzle. I read them to watch the people who are solving the puzzle. And the people in the “Dimity” series are like no other set of “detectives” I’ve ever seen. This is the finest set of tea-cozy characters since Miss Marple.

I’d love to see this book as a movie some day. Which is a little bizarre, since it’s pure chick flick, all the way. Normally I hate stories like that. But this one works. Recommended.
