How To Approach A Joint Venture Partner

Quality joint venture partners are being approached non-stop. They have tons of time commitments and it is usually better for them to promote their own products to their list.

So how do you approach them?

There are many ways to approach a JV partner but what I have found to work well is to try and develop a relationship with them first. You could:

1.-Compliment them

Simply compliment your potential JV partners on a job well done. Perhaps they did a teleseminar and you learned something useful or you like how their web site looks. Feed the ego and show genuine interest in someone it pays back a thousand times fold.

2.-Buy something of their’s

A popular way of building a relationship with someone is to actually buy their product that way you have a perfect reason to contact them and tell them how great you feel it is.

3.-Promote something of their’s

If you have a list that responds well promote something of your joint venture partner’s and let them know about the success you had. I know I give preferential treatment to those that have promoted me in the past. This establishes the reciprocity factor and that is a huge motivator in most people.

In conclusion, I recommend doing all of the above…
1. Buy a potential joint venture partner’s product
2. Review it (this can become content and promo material too)
3. Give them a testimonial
4. Promote their product
5. Keep following up until you can get them to review your product

Sounds easy right?

Now just do it!

Stock Picks 101 - “Why Didn’t I See That?”

Trading seems like it should be easy. A couple of mouse clicks here and there. Buy low, sell high. Pick a stock, buy it, wait for it to go up and sell. Easy, right?

But somehow, spectacular, consistent success eludes you. What gives? What is especially confounding is that it always seems crystal clear what you should have done when you look back.

Welcome to “hindsight bias.” There are many factors that separate successful traders from those who consistently trash their trading account. One of the most important of these factors is that successful traders learn from the past without judging themselves too harshly for their “mistakes.”

Let’s examine this notion of a trading “mistake” for a moment. At the moment you made a “bad” trade, you used the best information you had available to you at that time and took the trading action you did. You had to weigh a number of factors, some of which may have conflicted with each other. If that description does not describe your trading process, you have no business trading.

So why do bad things happen to good trades? The answer is simple: Because they can. You are in the perilous business of guessing the future. Trading is all about risk… and reward. Manage your risks and the rewards take care of themselves.

The human brain is constructed to do certain things well. There are other things it does not do well — like comprehending the world of probability and odds. The brain likes to have clearly defined “yes” and “no” situations. Fuzzy “maybes” easily lead to confused decisions. This is what happens way too frequently when you trade.

This chronic, nagging confusion resulting from weighing vague and conflicting information sets you up to second guess yourself. You ask yourself, “Why didn’t I see that (at the time)?”

Be kind to yourself. You are trying to do something that is extremely unnatural to the working of your brain. You are trying to make decisions when the information available is incomplete and contradictory.

Warning: if this is not how you experience the trading decision process then it is likely you are setting yourself up for a fall. Doubt and confusion are a natural, even necessary part of the trading decision process. Confident certainty usually means you are missing something… either that, or you are working with inside information.

I repeat: Be kind to yourself. You will make mistakes. You cannot separate out the good decisions from the bad until after the fact. That is the nature of trading.

Harsh second guessing can cut your trading career short before it really starts. Don’t let yourself fall for this trap.

How To Find Joint Venture Partners

These six places in my opinion are the top places to find joint venture partners, I have used all of them before and can assure you that when you contact these partners correctly you will notice an increase in your bottom line.

Here’s the six places:

1.-Events

Although a marketing event can be expensive to attend you will find your best prospects at an event since you will be able to establish a personal one on one relationship right off the bat with someone.

2.-ClickBank

ClickBank is a wonderful place to find JV partners and best of all it’s free. Simply go to the ClickBank marketplace at http://marketplace.clickbank.net/ and look for your niche. Then write down their contact information, what their site is and a little about their product or site.

3.-Other affiliate networks

You can also look at other affiliate networks or directories. Simply do a search for them and follow the same steps as outlined for ClickBank.

4.-Directories

Directories such as http://dmoz.org/ and http://search.yahoo.com/dir list hundreds if not thousands of sites related to your niche market. You can always work on building a relationship with those sites and see what happens.

5.-Testimonials

Is a similar or complementary product on the market? Then go to their sales letter and look for the people who left testimonials. Many big name marketers leave testimonials and this is a great way to start a relationship.

6.-Search

Run a Google search for your niche and you can find thousands of sites that may be interested.

Use those six methods of locating joint venture partners and your business will skyrocket. I have used them on countless occasions and most of my success can be directly linked to joint venture promotions I have setup.

Ebooks – Marketing The Worm Farm

Ebook distribution can be a combination of personal passion with a hint of marketing basics. The Internet is filled with knowledge consumers. No other time in history has made it so easy to investigate issues once relegated to professors or other experts in their field.

Consumers can go online every day and access the latest in customized news stories, sports, weather and then access an online encyclopedia to learn more about the first guy that played the Maytag Repairman in commercials or the current shortstop for the Chicago Cubs.

Each consumer has a differing idea of what constitutes good knowledge. For instance you should not assume a knowledge-based consumer would be disinterested in learning more about worm farming simply because it is a niche market.

The truth is the Internet may be the perfect location to market your knowledge-based ebook.

Let’s follow this logically. In the village, town or city where you live you are the only worm farmer you know. You haven’t had anyone ask how to start or manage a worm farm so you draw a conclusion that infers no one is interested in worm farming.

In a municipality fifty miles down the road there is a couple interested in what it takes to develop a worm farm. You could help them, but they don’t know you - and you don’t know them.

Now, you could live a happy life managing your worm farm or you could help others get started in the business of worm farming through an ebook filled with your experiences in the field.

The end result is you suddenly have access to a worldwide audience who may seek you out because they can’t find material suited to the establishment of a worm farm anywhere else.

Your work may not be a best seller, but it can work to drive visitors to your site and can assist them in learning more about something you excel at.

The knowledge-based ebook can be a marketing tool to help motivated knowledge consumers locate your site and check out the variety of information, products and services you may be able to offer.

Information is a tremendous commodity and remains a strong benefit to website owner and visitor alike.

The world of publishing is at your fingertips. There is no longer a need to find a traditional publisher because ebooks bring the world of publishing to you. In most cases the largest investment you will make in the development of an ebook is your own personal time. In the end, your customers may be very grateful you took the time to share what you know.

The 3 Main Types of Joint Ventures for Internet Marketers Today

When I have looked back and the joint ventures I have been involved in they all stem from three main categories. Everything else is really a combination of 2 or 3 of these.

1.-Promotion of your product

You can joint venture with a partner and have them promote your product for a set commission (this is very similar to an affiliate program); you might also promote one of your partners products at a later date.

2.-Creation of a new product

You can joint venture with someone and create a whole new web site or product. Many of the most successful marketers to this since two minds are better than one and they can both work on their strong suits.

3.-List building

Another popular joint venture is helping one another build each other’s list. You could both simply send an email out to your lists and cross-promote one another. You’d get new people from your partners list and they’d go new people from your list.

The best joint ventures are a combination of all three, brainstorm ways where you can do all three for you joint venture partners and you will find that more of them will want to promote your offers.

Here’s an example of a way you could combine all three.

1.-Ask potential joint venture partners to contribute to an eBook - this creates a new product
2.-Have them donate a product when someone purchases this eBook - this is the list building element
3.-Have all of the joint venture partners promote - here is your promotion element

If you did that you’d have a product that would be in the hands of many people, you’d earn money and become the expert just by association on that topic.

It’s win/win - now go out and do it!

Book Events Every Author Should Attend At Least Once

Whether you write science fiction or mystery, poetry or romance, ultimately you will have something in common with writers of different genres: the need to promote your work. While the Internet has opened new avenues of marketing to authors, from websites and blogs to social network hubs, there is still something to be said for meeting the reading public where they can be easily found. Some of the best places to meet readers, editors, and booksellers are book conferences and conventions.

Conventions are held around the world, all year ’round. Many of the larger, more established expositions are normally scheduled around the same time each year, allowing authors who attend multiple events to plan accordingly. Some conferences may include panels and seminars on the craft or on marketing, while others are strictly venues for authors to read and sell works. Some allow writers and industry professionals to connect, and others are geared mainly for readers wishing to socialize with their favorite authors. Some are held in an afternoon at a public library, others sponsored by colleges over the course of a week, and still others held in large exhibit halls. Regardless of size and name recognition, any book event is worth attending for an author looking to promote a book.

Any author serious about learning more about the industry, learning what readers want, and reaching readers and booksellers should consider making time to attend at least one book festival, fair, or conference a year. Some may require travel and other expenses - booth rental, promotional materials, accommodations, but in the end the spending can be justified with the opportunity to expose your name and work to a new audience. You may not sell out at every event you attend, but you have at least the chance to imprint your work in the minds of interested readers. A simple bookmark handed over to a passerby may yield a future sale. Word of mouth remains on the most powerful marketing tools for writers - and you have to go where the mouths are.

That said, here is just a short list of recommended events I think every author should attend at least once. Some are expensive, yes, but worth the time to travel and stay. Many are genre specific, but the conferences and seminars offered at some may be applicable to any writer trying to make a sale. Consider planning a vacation around one of these events, and bring business cards. You never know…you just may meet your future agent in an elevator at one of these events.

Book Expo America - One of the largest publishing trade expos in the world. This 3-4 day event is usually held in late May, early June in a major US city (2006 was DC, 2007 is NYC, 2008 is LA). Here all the major book pubs (and a good number of small presses) display their forthcoming catalogs to reviewers and booksellers. Lots of big names come to this event.

Romantic Times - One of the largest book conventions dedicated to the romance genre and sub-genres, a fantastic place to meet readers and industry professionals alike. This event is usually held in the late spring, April or May, and also travels (2006 was in Daytona Beach, 2007 in Houston, 2008 in Pittsburgh). The Saturday book fair exposes authors to hundreds of readers.

Bouchercon - The oldest and perhaps most influential mystery convention, a great place to meet mystery authors, publishers, specialty booksellers, and others involved in the genre. This travel also (2006 in Madison, WI, 2007 in Anchorage).

Malice Domestic - Another, smaller mystery convention with a focus on the cozy genre. This one is always held in the Washington, DC area around the spring, April or May, and distributes the annual Agatha Awards.

DragonCon - DragonCon is not strictly a book convention, but very book friendly. DragonCon celebrates science fiction, fantasy, and horror, and everything in between. This con is held annually in Atlanta, usually around Labor Day.

RWA Annual Conference - The annual RWA conference brings in the heavy hitters of the romance industry: agents, editors and publishers. If you are a member of Romance Writers of America it is a great place to network.

EPICon - A small but growing annual convention, EPICon’s focus is electronic publishing. Here you can learn about the growing industry and meet eBook publishers, and attend the annual EPPIE Awards. This con travels and is usually held in the early spring (2007 in Virginia Beach, 2008 in Portland, OR).

Remember, too, for every con you attend you can write off your promotional expenses!

When And How To Use A Joint Venture Broker

Forming successful joint ventures is not always an easy task and you may want to hire a joint venture broker instead.

There are many joint venture brokers you will want to look for one with

1.-A good reputation
2.- Contacts in your niche
3.-Experience with your type of product.

If your broker doesn’t have all three of those then I wouldn’t be that interested in working with them and you shouldn’t either.

When hiring a joint venture broker stay away from people who charge you on an hourly basis or charge you on a per JV partner basis. You are looking to pay someone a commission on the sales the partners they bring in. You may end up paying more this way but its well worth it.

Are you wondering how it works?

Let’s say you are selling a $100 product and you offer a 50% commission to your partners. Your joint venture broker might charge an additional 25% on those sales. You’ll be paying out $75 to affiliates ($50 goes to the affiliate and $25 goes to the joint venture broker on each sale) and keeping $25 for yourself, you will also be building a list of clients that you would not have had otherwise, you will have new contacts in your market, possibly testimonials, credibility and now you have the time to work on making follow-up products and more promotional materials to maximize your revenue.

If you’ve decided that you want to hire a joint venture broker contact me and I’ll let you know if I’m a good fit or if I know someone who could help.

Popular Natural Cures For Crohns Disease

If you are looking for natural cures for Crohn s disease, you are going to be disappointed. There is no cure yet, though research is ongoing. However, there are natural things you can do to help get rid of many of your more troubling symptoms, and that can at the very least, offer you much relief.

You may be able to cure some of your symptoms and go into remission, but you aren’t going to be completely relieved of the disease. You may find that some of these will help and some will do nothing for you. It’s usually a case of trial and error and results can depend on the progression of your condition and how bad your flare-ups tend to be.

One of the most talked about natural remedies for Crohn’s disease is altering your diet. There is a diet called the Specific Carb Diet that might offer you some relief. This diet eliminates a lot of different foods, and you might find that you don’t have many food choices left. However, if it works for you, and many sufferers have reported success by following it, giving up certain foods may well be worth it.

The Specific Carb Diet tells you to removed milk products, oats, grains, most vegetables, sugars, and anything that contains preservatives. You can have lean cuts of fresh meats, and many different types of fruit. It’s recommended that you take a vitamin supplement when following this diet and you should always talk to your doctor about it before you begin.

Herbal remedies have had success with reducing intestinal inflammation associated with Crohn’s. There can be some relief if the herbs are taken correctly, however you should make sure you talk to your doctor or health professional about them as they may interact with your prescription medications. Just because something is classed as natural or herbal it doesn’t necessarily mean its safe.

Along the same lines, another natural remedy for Crohn’s disease is acupuncture. This is used to stimulate points along the body that, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, are connected to the health of the digestive system. Acupuncture works by triggering the body’s self-healing properties. Crohn’s is thought to be an auto-immune condition, so this might indeed offer some relief.

Stress reduction is another popular natural approach for crohn s disease symptom relief. Though stress does not cause Crohn’s, as some think, stress can make symptoms worse. Activities like yoga can help, along with other stress busting exercises and breathing techniques.

You may also find you become a little depressed when you are in the middle of a flare up. The symptoms of Crohn’s can limit the quality of life, and that means its quite normal to feel sad and detached. A way of combating this might be to seek help for depression. You may not want to take any medications for this, but there are some exercises programs that can help you, and you may also want to consider talking to professional counselor about it.

As mentioned, there is no cure for Crohn’s, but you might want to think of your natural cures for Crohn’s disease as cures for your symptoms. You will have to see what works for you, as everyone is different, and what works for one won’t work for others.

No matter what it is you want to try, it is important that you keep your medical doctor informed. They should help you monitor your condition. If your doctor seems reluctant when you mention any of these natural cures for Crohn s disease, let them know you want to try them, but you want to do them under their supervision. It is important they monitor your condition, and also your intake of the nutrition that you need.

Once You Have a Joint Venture Partner

Joint venture partners are hard enough to come by, keep them enthusiastic and you will have found a partner for life.

Here are some of the strategies I use to keep my big partners enthusiastic about promoting products.

Once you have a joint venture partner you will want to do everything for them. From writing the emails they send out, to making sure they have the right link to promote your product to reminding them to actually send out the email.

You will need to be clear and upfront on the compensation they will receive from the sales they generate and preferably provide them with a system that they can login to so they can check their stats.

Pay them on time and if they did a really good job you may want to consider boosting their commissions or providing some sort of bonus so they remain loyal to you.

A lot of bigger launches have prizes, this really motivates joint venture partners - if you are doing a big launch I highly recommend doing this.

Also help them out in the future, review the offers they give you and return the favor sometime by promoting them.

Feel free to contact them in the future about doing some joint products together - this has a lot of benefits…

1.-It will be faster/easier to make - focus on your strengths
2.-You will both promote
3.-You will both have different partners who could promote

Now you are in the top 1% of people who are looking for joint venture partners. Use this knowledge to your advantage and enter the big leagues.

What Do Joint Venture Partners Look For?

I get approached all the time and have done a lot of approaching myself.

From my experience most joint venture partners are looking for the following:

1.-High quality product
2.-Great sales copy
3.-High commissions

Joint venture partners look for high quality products that compliment rather then compete with them. For instance say the potential partner sells an eBook on “How To Build Your List” and you sell a product on “How To Promote Affiliate Programs To Your Lists” then you two aren’t directly competing with one another.

You will want sales copy that converts well - I recommend testing your copy before getting others to promote. You can then use those stats to help convince them of promoting.

I have found that big ticket items, giveaways (with one-time-offers) and membership sites are easier to get marketers on board with since they can produce a significant amount of income for the marketer with a very small amount of work.

When you combine those three elements you have something that joint venture partners are clamoring for and it will be much easier to get them to promote your product.

Not all joint venture partners are looking for this but I give preferential treatment to the following.

1.-Reciprocal mailing
2.-Integration marketing - when someone signs up they see something for my stuff
3.-A contest - with rankings and prizes

Combine these and what was above and you have a real winner. It will become a product that people will talk about for quite some time and that will really help you out.
