When you buy a new house, or move to a new place, your first priority would of course be to fill the empty space. Your house is a place that if you want you can completely customize to your taste, aesthetics and living requirements. To do this, the first thing that you would need to look at is the available resources. You need to have a clear view of how you want your living environment to be and how much money you are willing to spend.
There are some questions that will help you get a better understanding of your requirements and your available resources:

–How long do you plan to stay in your current house?

–What type of lifestyle do you lead?

–Chart out the activities that you do in each room

–Do you have any children? Or are planning to start a family? If you do have children, how old are they, and what are their requirements

–How much space do you require for leisure activities?

–Is there enough sleeping space for everyone and the guests?

–Is there enough storage room in the house?

–List the furniture that you currently have. Also mark the ones that you like and dislike

–Do you have a color scheme in mind?

–How much are you willing to spend on your interior? Could be monthly or annually.

After going through these questions you would have already established your requirements and your style. Now you know the furniture items that you want to discard.
You can add more questions to this list if you want to. It is always better to make a plan before you start decorating your house. It will save you a lot of time.

Overcoming Procrastination - Understanding Why You Procrastinate

There are several reasons why people procrastinate instead of finishing work right there and then: fear of the results, perfectionism, boredom, anger, ill health, distractions, misinformation and even the amount of work that needs to be done. All are perfectly reasonable and all are perfectly understandable. However, procrastination is one of those bad habits that can have underlying reasons. And to avoid it, you have to understand why you do it in the first place. If you know the reason, then you can find a solution.

You find it hard to throw things away: Ask yourself - are you a pack-rat by nature? Is it because of sentimental reasons? Do you abhor empty spaces so you just have to fill it up with something? Could it be that you were deprived of these things as a child and now you want to compensate for that lack? Understanding why will help you to sort out things properly or be more disciplined when it comes to things to store. For example, you love reading fiction - instead of hoarding your books, set up a scale to judge how good the book was and either give-away or sell the bad ones then just store the great ones. That way, you get to still indulge in your passion and leave room for more.

You can’t start/finish the work that you need to do: First, do you really know how to do it? Do you have the materials needed? Are you afraid that the result won’t be good? Or are you comparing it with somebody else’s work or even your own previous work? Are you bored with the job? Do you think the amount of work that you will do is not going to be worth it? Whether it’s a thesis or novel or cross stitch project, if you keep on pushing the schedule away, it won’t get finished. Instead of procrastinating, challenge yourself then - treat each project as different as the ones you’ve finished. In all aspects, you are only as good as your last work, so what’s the use of comparing?

You don’t have time: Is this stress talking or do you have a medical condition that requires attention? Needless to say, you have to find out if you can’t physically do the work. If you are juggling three roles at the same time - let’s say, you’re a breadwinner, a parent and a community volunteer - you really can’t keep on promising to be the boy’s baseball team coach at the same. There’s not enough time to do all. Learn to set priorities and answer only to what you can finish.

Remember, understanding is the key.

If you are able to handle procrastination, you will be able to face your everyday job with ease. Most of the time, the people who are able to stick with their schedule are the people who become highly successful. So, are you going to put off this chance to be an achiever today?

How To Harness The Power Of Visualization

We have all heard of the tremendous power of visualization - the process of creating a mental picture of what you want as a means of acquiring or achieving something you desire. While it may seem like a lot of metaphysical mumbo-jumbo, I would challenge you to reflect on the goals in your life that you have realized and conclude that visualization was not an important part of the process.

We’ve all done it in the past - think back to something good in your life that you worked for and achieved and you will undoubtedly recall having had a strong mental image of the outcome that served as inspiration and motivation.

Create mental images of the things you want to achieve or acquire and bring them to mind several times a day. As part of my personal development program, I have documented what my goals are. I have them stored on my computer, and have a program that causes it to pop up three times a day. At first, I was just reading them, but an odd thing started to happen after about a week. As I read them, I unconsciously brought up the visual image I had created. In my mind’s eye, I actually see the ultimate outcome of goals I have set for myself.

Another method to use when visualizing is to put yourself in the picture. If the image is of your dream house, picture yourself relaxing in your living room, or swimming in your custom-built pool. Imagine yourself driving your dream car down the road as if you didn’t have a care in the world. Apply action to your visions…they will take on a life of their own. Take a few minutes at least once a day to indulge yourself, and daydream using these mental videos. You will find that your subconscious will start to accept these daydreams as possibilities, then as probable outcomes, and finally as your destiny!

The three vital aspects that cannot be overlooked in order to make this process work are:

Visualize. Picture the result of having reached your goal, whether it is a tangible object or an intangible objective. View these pictures often.

Verbalize. Say it aloud, even if only to yourself. This will make the goal more real to both your conscious and subconscious mind.

Share. If your family and friends aren’t particularly supportive, find people who are. The internet abounds with forums where you can find positive input from people who are of like mind - and they are quite often able to provide tips and advice to make the road a little easier to traverse.

Even if you are skeptical about this method being effective, you should give it a whirl - I guarantee you that nothing bad will come of it, and the potential for astounding things to happen is mind-boggling.

One of the most common objections heard when trying to recruit someone into a home-based-business is “I don’t Have the money to invest.” Depending on where you are in the discussion, you may have determined that this prospect either is not interested in your particular business, or is simply searching for excuses not to take any risks in life.

If that’s the case, now may be the time to abandon your recruiting efforts. However, if the prospect seems to be genuinely interested and has the desire to take the next step, there are ways to fund a home-based-business without impacting their current budget.

The easiest method applies to those that are currently working an outside job and pay income taxes. Congress has passed laws specifically designed to encourage entrepreneurship and home-based-business, and they include immediate tax relief for these enterprising individuals. You can’t use these laws just as a way to reduce your tax burden. In the event of an audit, you must be prepared to prove that you’re actually working the business four to five days a week for an hour a day.

The laws allow you to estimate your business expenses and adjust your W-4 form to increase your take-home pay, which you will use to fund your ventures. The savings typically range from $4000 to $7000 per year - that’s a minimum of $16 per workday (based on a 5-day workweek and a two-week annual vacation).

That amount is more than enough to fund most home-based-business, if you stay away from big-ticket items that promise great riches for little effort and systems that require you to buy huge inventories of product to sell to your friends and neighbors.

Funding your home-based-business is crucial to your success. No commercial venture can be profitable without investing some money to get started. While most of your investment should be your time and effort, there will always be some sort of financial obligation involved. The money is there if you know where to look!

*Note - the tax information presented applies to U.S. taxpayers only.

There’s no safe designed to protect against everything. Most safes do better against some threats than others. If you’re looking to protect your valuables, here are some of the more common types of safes on the market.

Freestanding safes come in many sizes, and they are the most basic type of safe. When buying a freestanding safe, look for one with thick metal all the way around-since burglars can access all sides of a freestanding safe, make sure that all sides can stand up to break-in attempts. In addition, a freestanding safe should always be bolted to a floor, preferably a cement floor, so burglars can’t carry it off.

Wall safes. These are installed in your wall, and on TV, they’re often concealed behind a picture or poster. This is probably the easiest way to conceal a wall safe, and also the least effective-burglars watch those TV shows, too. The best way to conceal a wall safe is by installing it behind a panel specially designed to match the wall.

Floor safes can be extremely secure. Even if an unconcealed safe is bolted to the floor, burglars can still attack it from all sides. Not so with a floor safe-only the door is accessible, and that’s the toughest part of most safes. A floor safe is installed in concrete-either in a concrete floor, or encased in a concrete block beneath the floor. While the safe itself may be less expensive-many floor safes are only reinforced at the door, because the sides are inaccessible-it can cost more to install. Floor safes offer some fire protection, and can often be concealed more effectively than wall safes, because you can position a heavy and difficult-to-move piece of furniture over it.

Drop or deposit safes are often used by businesses whose employees handle large amounts of cash, such as banks and car dealerships. Some drop safes have a simple slot on the top or the side where money can be dropped in, while others have more elaborate drawer mechanisms for depositing larger items. Some drop safes can be installed in the floor or wall, but many are freestanding. Drop safes are often relatively light, and are rarely designed to protect against serious break-in attempts. Most businesses use them for cash or valuable storage during the day and remove the items at night.

Fire safes are specially designed to shield valuables from fire. Most fire safes are designed to keep the temperature inside below the temperature at which paper chars for a certain period of time. Higher-rated fire safes can control the temperature for up to 120 minutes, while lower-rated ones protect contents for about 30 minutes. Conventional fire safes do this by converting trapped moisture into steam as it gets hot.

Media safes are designed to protect digital equipment from fire and theft. A media safe keeps the temperature inside considerably lower than a conventional fire safe does, because media equipment is more sensitive to fire than paper is. It also does not use steam conversion to control internal temperatures, so the contents won’t be damaged by moisture.

Gun safes are sized to hold guns. They come in many different sizes, and most potential buyers are encouraged to buy more space than they need in case their gun collection grows. A good gun safe protects a gun collection from theft as well as from curious children, and it should always be bolted to the floor so burglars can’t remove it from the premises. Gun safes are usually freestanding.

Diversion safes are safes concealed inside an object to look inconspicuous. Diversion safes can be made to look like books, household cleaning products, candles, bottled drinks, and more-the varieties are endless. These are usually large enough only for small items such as keys and credit cards, and are often not recommended for serious security, as once a burglar finds your diversion safe they can easily remove it.

Laptop safes are sized to fit laptop computers, and they come in many different models. Some can be attached to a desk or installed in a drawer; portable laptop safes can be carried. Many hotels provide laptop safes for business travelers in each room. They are much more effective than security straps used for laptops.

Medical safes are usually shaped like a cabinet, and are used to lock up drugs and other medical paraphernalia. They are usually used to keep drugs away from children, and are not designed to withstand serious burglary attempts. Businesses sometimes use medical safes to store drugs and equipment for employees with medical conditions, and they are sometimes found in pharmacies and doctors’ offices as well.

It’s recommended that you invest in a good safe-don’t simply pick the cheapest. It doesn’t make sense to protect valuables worth £10,000 or more in a £100 safe. Do a little research and decide which safe makes sense in your situation, and you’ll have a good chance of finding the protection you need.

A.Neary is director of http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk an online store supplying a wide range of safes and fire proof cabinets. Visit http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/Categories/security_safes/ for more information on safes and the security product range available.

Maybe It’s Time for a Divorce

I was one of the lucky ones. I was married for 29 years until my wife passed away from a sudden heart attack. I found another great lady a short while later and now look forward to another 30 years together. But I have had almost every family member involved in a divorce. It was closest to home when, years ago, a female family member noticed that her husband had washed the sheets while she was on vacation. He never washes or cleans anything. He explained to her did it as a favor. My wife and I thought otherwise. By the way, he hadn’t washed any other item in the house that day. We said he was cheating, but she wouldn’t even consider that possibility. Even if that were true, she would want to work it out for the sake of the children. Years later, after the divorce, he admitted having an affair in their bed that night and thought it wise to wash the sheets.

I had seen the other warning signs for years earlier. He was staying out more, picked fights over small things, and ignored the children. But she looked past these issues and hoped things would turn around. They didn’t but he did. He made demands for her to change and become more of the woman he married years ago. He felt she spent too much time cooking, cleaning, and taking care of their 8 and 10 year old. What was she thinking? He never helped with any household chore and expected her undivided attention, i.e. sex, whenever it suited him. Now he lives with a woman 12 years younger and he still complains about his life with a woman he never bother to marry. Go figure.

I’m witnessing another divorce on the horizon for yet another family member. As he describes the circumstances, they feel all to similar. She ignores his needs, is a lousy mother and very self-centered. We think she may be having an affair, but he doesn’t want to know. Sound familiar? I see a trend. He’s been miserable for years, but he sticks around for the sake of the children. Once again, the family unit must be valued over individual needs. Well, I have something to say about that.

When I was 11, my father began staying out later and later. He was in real estate at the time and he used that as an excuse. One day he stayed out until the next morning. I watched my mother cry and then cry again when he announced he wanted a divorce. He said he had been unhappy for years and was seeing another woman. He eventually left and started a new family with this woman. I was hurt but survived. But it came full circle when my father’s wife took a trip out west just with the kids. She hooked up with an old male friend and came back to a man she decided to divorce. She explained that she was unhappy because he was financially unstable and was going to marry this new guy.

The point of these examples is that someone that’s unhappy in a relationship should make a decision. Maybe the problems began slowly and then built up over time. But you should be aware of the signs and decide when enough is enough. How long do you stay with someone for the sake of the children? In every case I just described, the children turned out just fine. It was the parents that ended up screwed up because they stayed together too long. My advice is to follow your heart and head. If things are bad and it’s obvious that neither of your will change, then get out of the poor relationship. Life is too short to remain with a significant other that you no longer love or want to be with. Divorce is not a failure but could actually be a new beginning. The children will be better off without the stress or strife of bickering or abusive parents. Do what’s best for yourself and then get on with your life. I’ll be willing to bet that there is someone out there that can make you happy.

Cognitive Therapy - Break Out Of Depressing Thoughts

Thoughts are very powerful. People have been known to withstand pain through sheer thought. People have achieved what they have always wanted through the power of the mind. And people also bring themselves into emotional cesspits because of thoughts.

Depression starts with pervasive thoughts of inadequacy and self-blame, among other things. A lot of the time, depression is triggered by a devastating event or an ill-thought-out decision that had disastrous results. Depressed people wallow in their self-pity and self-blame, slowly losing their will to live, slowly descending into a world where even the air is colored gray.

But there is a way out. Cognitive Therapy, which is used by psychotherapists and psychiatrists to treat depression, is a highly effective method that has brought people “back from the dead,” so to speak. It is very effective; but it’s actually a simple process you can do on your own.

What happens in Cognitive Therapy is that the patient is made to talk about a certain issue, especially the trigger of his/her depression, or the stress he/she is currently undergoing. When the patient blames him/herself or makes sweeping generalizations to prove what a miserable wretch he/she really is, the therapist disputes that and corrects the patient by asking questions to prove the negative thought and to encourage rational thinking.

You can do this on yourself too. Say you think, “I’m the fattest girl on earth”. Catch yourself with reality. Ask yourself: what is your weight? What is the weight of an officially obese person? If you do qualify for obesity, remind yourself: even 400-pounders have gone down to normal weight. So can you. If you need proof to tell yourself that it’s really true, you can research on success stories.

And this method applies across topics and across disciplines too. If you think you can never get that raise, ask yourself: “Never?” Then research, stack the cards, and arm yourself with truth. Dispute the veracity of your thoughts through cold, hard facts. If the facts agree with you, don’t despair. You have other options. The world has never run out of choices. You can get what you want, just keep a rational, open, and optimistic mind.

Cognitive Therapy and its principles has been a big help to so many people. I know it will help you, too. Just read more on my new guide How To Be Your Own Psychiatrist to show yourself how. There are some principles that a psychiatrist follows to effectively conduct a therapy session. Those secrets will come to you today.

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” Bill Cosby

The word “failure” has so many negative connotations - and in fact, there are many negative things about failing to accomplish something that you set out to do.

However, failure has an “up” side.

Failure is a lesson to be learned, not an indication that you can’t succeed. If you do some research on the most successful people in the world, you’ll find that their careers are marked by numerous failures. The difference between them and most other people is that they did not let their failures deter them from working towards their grand visions.

There is no such thing as a total failure. Whatever it is you’re doing, if the overall effect is not what you wanted you can always find some part of the process that worked the way you anticipated. The trick is to analyze what did work well, what didn’t work out that great, adjust your methods, and try again. It may take several tries to start to get the results you were looking for, but when you do, you’ll have a workable method in place.

Even Thomas Edison had his share of failure. It took thirteen months and reportedly over six thousand attempts to develop a working light bulb. When challenged by a young journalist to abandon his efforts, Edison replied “Young man, don’t you realize that I have not failed but have successfully discovered six thousand ways that won’t work!”

Look at failure as a stepping-stone to success; a stepping-stone worn smooth by some of the most notable names in history. The path isn’t always easy, but the journey is immensely rewarding.

Tried Network Marketing before and failed? It’s not your
fault. Let this rookie “unknown” marketer show you how he
embarrassed the “gurus” by placing over 4,120 people in his
downline in 14 short months, while pocketing over half-a-
million dollars. Now he has honed his SYSTEM into an idiot-
proof step-by-step can’t fail, never-cold-call-again
recruiting machine on steroids! He’ll even PAY YOU to check
it out. ==>http://gwilly1.getnetmlmprofits.com/profits/?mad=2238

Aspiring chiropractors who are interested in the practical and philosophical attributes of chiropractic medicine will find a rewarding and satisfying education at chiropractic schools in Georgia. Georgia chiropractic schools are eager to train people who are dedicated to learning how to provide good, holistic healthcare.

Chiropractic is based on the principle that the body maintains and restores health naturally. Chiropractic schools in Georgia can provide students with extensive and thorough training in this natural form of effective, non-invasive, and low-cost healthcare. Consumers today are looking for natural ways to achieve health and total wellness, and chiropractic schools are preparing future chiropractors for this respected and growing profession.

All chiropractic schools offer training for diagnosing and treating clients with skeletal, muscular, and nervous system disorders. They teach students how interference with the body’s natural functions can affect the nervous system, increase the chance of disease, and cause unnecessary pain. Students are taught several intervening remedies that restore balance and allow the body to achieve health without drugs or invasive surgery.

The philosophy of chiropractics considers the body as a whole unit; chiropractors believe that body and mind must be aligned for optimum wellbeing. Chiropractic treatment may include physical spinal adjustments as well as exercise routines, changes in diet, and quality of rest. Chiropractic students will learn to assess client needs and to provide supplemental skeletal adjustments to promote overall health under the instruction of experience practicing professionals.

Chiropractic courses will include studies that allow for earning certificates and Bachelor Science (BS) degrees. Graduate students may opt for Master of Science (MS) or Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) Degrees. Most chiropractic schools permit students to specialize in chiropractic neurology, orthopedics, sports injuries, internal disorders, nutrition, and diagnostic imaging.

Graduates of chiropractic schools in Georgia will become members of a fast-growing and exciting healthcare profession. Incomes may start out on the low end of the scale, but will soon become quite excellent. Median incomes exceed $70,000 in this healthcare field, depending on geographic location and the degree of education and experience. Students who plan to enter into private practice will benefit greatly from business courses beyond what may be provided at a chiropractic school.
