The Magnificence of the BMW Motorcycle

Ever since 1932 BMW has been making motorcycles that fall in the high-end class and that are regarded as being amongst the highest quality motorcycles.

They are known for excellence and for providing some of the most enjoyable motorcycle rides around.

BMW first introduced the R32 BMW motorcycle in 1932 and have been developing that particular style of motorcycle into something that has fan clubs all over the world.

This first BMW motorcycle had a peculiar engine, known as the “boxer twin” engine. It was designed for air cooling and its two cylinders protruded from opposite sides of the motorcycle.

Later during the BMW motorcycle development they also developed more traditional four cylinder motorcycle models.

Not only did BMW manufacture road bikes, they also branched out into off-road motorcycles and have made a name for themselves there as well.

Apart from the association with quality through the BMW logo and name, BMW motorcycles also attract loyal fans because the motorcycles give comfortable rides without sacrificing sportiness and performance.

Apart from some of its off-road models, the BMW motorcycle generally is a big motorcycle. However, drivers of these motorcycles will tell you that they handle like a dream.

Today they are four different series of BMW motorcycles. These are the F, G, R, and K series.

The F series has a four stroke, four valve engine and has a chain drive to the back wheel. The G series is an off-road motorcycle that BMW developed in conjunction with Aprilia. The R series motorcycles still have their trademark protruding cylinder heads but they have been improved upon over earlier models. The K series has also been developed into a motorcycle technological wonder. Both the R and K motorcycle series come with powerful engines that can drive a small car.

If comfort, style, technology, and stylishness appeal to you in motorcycles, then the BMW motorcycle will definitely be on your shopping list. On the one hand they come with a high price tag, but on the other hand you know that you are buying BMW quality, comfort, and style.

The game is over but the fat lady didn’t show. Don’t cry for me because I died a long time ago. I wasn’t wise enough to hang up my spikes when the umpire told me to go home.

That extra hour of batting practice that I wanted caused the loss of my desire to be a professional baseball player, and I never did make the big show.

A dope selling gang-banger and his chums took control of the park. He stabbed me in the knee when I refused to buy his weed. I reported his cruel deed, and he was quickly deported to Mexico. Yeah, I really could’ve been a part of the big show.

No matter what I did I couldn’t hit life’s curves, and this one is no different, but to strike out like this is something that no man deserves.

I went to church to make my peace with God, and maybe get one last shot of the good stuff, but the Father was nowhere to be seen.

Yeah, all I got was a recorded bless you my son and an ear full of corny organ music. That’s how it’s always been for me.

Nothing or nobody can step up to the plate and cure this rotting illness. It’s all up to me but I’m not swinging.

I found another way. I’m now the ump, and I’m outta here. The fifty on my desk is for my ballpark chum Jimmy Rocksted. He deserves a cheer.

My lifelong friend, take your stance on the mound and keep on pitching.

Dorm Room Decorating Tips

The college dorm room is perhaps the single most difficult room to furnish of all. Nowhere is real estate more valuable and in need of being maximized to its fullest potential. Dorm rooms can make studio apartments look like palatial estates. Oh, and you’ll probably have a roommate, so take that already miniscule square footage figure and divide by two. What you’re left with is an area roughly the size of a small closet. There are ways to use to this space wisely, though, and make your dorm room a great place for…studying?

It’s best to start with the essentials. Even though you think you’ll being doing so much “studying” you won’t have time for sleep, a bed is still necessary. Think small here…now think even smaller. If you toss and turn when you sleep, you either need to break yourself of that habit or cushion the floor beside your bed. Actually, single beds aren’t that bad, and that’s what you’ll need here, a basic single bed, no bells and whistles. Another option here is a futon. Futons get a bad rap, but some actually are comfortable, and of course double as a sofa-ideal for late nights playing X-Box, er…studying.

The next piece of essential furniture you’ll need is a desk. Much like your bed, think small and then cut that in half. Laptops are ideal for dorm life, and need only minimal desk space, but if you do have a desk top, look for a compact corner desk. These corner units provide enough desk space for a monitor and leave you enough room to stash your CPU underneath. Since floor space is limited, you need to go vertical…think Manhattan. Look for a desk with stacking shelf features for your printer and other miscellaneous stuff. If need be, mount shelves in the wall (if allowed, obviously) to accomplish this.

Lastly, use every bit of room you have. For clothing storage, use plastic bins and store them under your bed. If you need a bookcase or portable shelf unit, think tall and slim (like a Brazilian supermodel). If you have room for a chest, there are some narrow ones out there such as slim lingerie chests. Hopefully these tips will help you turn your dorm room into the bastion of higher education you envision it as.

Now, for those of you who don’t know the difference, let me give you a quick summary:
- Automatic transmission means the car has only two pedals (acceleration and break), and the gear is shifted automatically, based on the speed it’s traveling at. This is the kind normally found in cars in America and Mexico.
- Manual transmission implies a third pedal, called a clutch, being present in the car. With this system, the driver manually changes gears, the system being more commonly used around the world than its automatic counterpart.

As with any two approaches to the same system, both have pros and both have cons, so I will try to point them out as clearly as possible and try not to shed any bad light on either one of these marvelous inventions. After all, none of them is flawed, they’re just made for different kinds of situations.

First of all, let’s take a look at automatic transmission. This is lovely for beginners to learn driving on, because you don’t need to change gears yourself, except between Reverse, Neutral and Forward, thus allowing you to focus on the road better than you would with a manual gearbox. Also, there’s no way you can skip a gear, which can sometimes happen with manuals, especially if you’re a beginner, so automatics help extend the engine’s lifespan. Another plus would be fuel efficiency, because there is no chance for the car to reach too high of a speed in too low of a gear.

On the other hand, though, being able to shift your gears manually gives you the ability to get a better acceleration in key situations, by simply switching gears downward before you accelerate. Also, switching to a lower gear creates a phenomenon called an “engine brake”, which is very useful during the winter and during rainfall because it keeps the car from skidding, while still slowing it down. Neither of these is possible with automatics, hence the large number of traffic accidents that could’ve been avoided if the gearbox was manual. Still, a manual gearbox is a bit harder to use than an automatic, because you always have to know which gear you’re in, where the one you want to shift to is located, and most importantly, make sure you’ve got an appropriate speed for the gear you’re in.

All in all, manuals are slightly more professional than automatics, because you can customize your power/speed ratio yourself, but are harder to learn and require more attention. Although automatics are a lot easier to use, there are times when they’re not up to the challenge they’re being put through and cause a crash that could’ve been avoided. As I’ve said before, they’re designed for different kinds of situations, but both have their own advantages and disadvantages. The only real way to see which one suits you best is to try both, and pick the one you feel most comfortable around.

Is a Recession Likely for UK Economy?

With growth forecasts in the UK currently of 3% it seems highly speculative to start talking of a recession in the UK. However there are certain factors that cause an element of concern.

Reasons for Recession

1.-Fall in the Savings Ratio.
Excluding pension contributions the UK savings rate has dipped below 0. This means we are borrowing more than we are saving. This is dangerous because it means household consumption is stretched. True there was strong growth in consumer spending in January; however this growth in consumer spending is likely to be unsustainable. There is a limits to how much more borrowing consumers can generate.

2.-Very low savings rates are often a precursor to recessions. The last time the UK has a savings rate so low was in 1989. Two years later the UK entered a recession as consumers sought to build up their savings after years of borrowing and over spending.

3.-Mortgage Equity Withdrawal Much of the borrowing has been financed by an increase in Mortgage Equity Withdrawal. In 2006 MEW rose to £14.6bn or 6.7% of incomes. This equity withdrawal is often to consolidate other debts such as credit card loans. However it means that if house prices were to fall those who had taken out equity withdrawal would be vulnerable to negative equity.

4.-UK sensitive to higher interest rates. The high levels of debt mean that significant sections of the population will be very sensitive to rises in the interest rate.

5.-Inflationary pressures are forecast to rise due to several factors such as, rising commodity prices. Therefore to keep inflation close to the government’s target of 2% it may require higher interest rates. Even a small rise in interest rates of 0.5% could make mortgage payments unaffordable for many new homeowners. This fall in consumer spending could lead to a recession.

UK Recession Unlikely because:

1.-No Boom and Bust. Inflation is still within the governments target, therefore there is no reason for the MPC to increase interest rates to very high levels, (as in 1991 when they reached 15%). Many economists predict interest rates may soon peak. Also real interest rates are still relatively low. (Real interest rates = interest rates-inflation)

2.-Growth is strong.
With growth forecasts in the UK currently of 3% it seems highly speculative to start talking of a recession in the UK. However there are certain factors that cause an element of concern.

At 2.7% the economy is growing close to its long term trend rate, there is no obvious reason for this to change in the short to medium term.

3.-Low savings rates don’t have to cause a recession. In 1989 the economic situation was different.

4.-World Economy growing strongly. Despite fears over the US housing market the OECD has stated that the world economy is enjoying one of its best years of economic growth.

5.-The £ is overvalued. Therefore there is potential for a devaluation in the £ which would improve the competitiveness of exporters in the UK.

Ever wonder why certain kinds of activities are easier in one year then another? Numerology tells us that the universe supports you in certain kinds of activities in life over a nine year cycle. To find out where you are in this cycle, you need to calculate your Personal Year.

Calculating your Personal Year

Your Personal Year number is calculated much like your Life Path is, but instead of using your birth year in the calculation, we substitute the current year instead. So we sum together all the digits of your birthday for the current year, and then we reduce the number to a single digit using fadic addition.

For example, Johnny Depp was born on June 9th, 1963; so his Personal Year number for 2007 is (6) as shown below.

06/09/2007 = (6 + 9 + 2 + 7) = (24) = (2 + 4) = (6)

The following is a list of personal years, and how they will affect you.

Personal Year (1)

This year is a time of new beginnings. New directions and opportunities will be offered; you should accept them. You will find it easier to gain your independence in areas of your life during this year; as well as feeling self-confident and energized. This is the best time for planning and initiating new activities and long range goals.

Personal Year (2)

This year is a time to think and consolidate your plans; a year of peace and calm after the storm. It is easier than usual to cooperate with others. Friendships and partnerships of all kinds prosper during this period. Your sensitivity is enhanced; love and affections are felt more easily.

Personal Year (3)

This year is a time of happiness and joy. Your creativity and imagination will prosper this year. Travel is likely during this period, and you will have many opportunities to mingle and socialize. This is a time of optimism; things are looking up for you. Try not to make weighty or important decisions at this time; hold them for next year instead.

Personal Year (4)

This year is a time when patience and organization pays off. This is a practical period; opportunities to make plans and build on the foundation of what you have done before prevail. A stable time in which a realistic attitude towards life works best. Try to keep your promises and work through any difficulties that may arise.

Personal Year (5)

This year is a time in which new opportunities abound. You will feel change in the very air. New people or interest will come into your life. You will seek personal freedoms during this period. Your adaptability to changes in your life is enhanced. You will experience many sensual attractions at this time.

Personal Year (6)

This year is a time when your home life and various responsibilities make demands on your time. This is the best possible year for lasting commitments; love and marriage. You will take on responsibilities more easily than usual. Obligations and duties which arise will be handled. Your creative endeavors are favored at this time.

Personal Year (7)

This year is a time for soul searching and self examination. You will gain important insight into your own motives. You will need rest and time for reflection during this period. You can experience stress and frustration about your material situation at this time. But be prepared; when you least expect it reversal of fortune and surprising victories can occur.

Personal Year (8)

This year is a time when you may gain success and material wealth; but, only if you have worked for them. You will find this to be a good year for business. Personal independence can be achieved. Reaching a balance between material goals and spiritual goals will give you the best results.

Personal Year (9)

This year is a time of closure in this phase of your life. Unlooked-for endings will occur this year; but only concerning those things which you no longer need. You will have many opportunities to show compassion and understanding. Your ideals may come to the forefront during this year. Attempt to bring your affairs to some kind of closure and prepare for new challenges. Try to put off starting any major undertakings until next year.

Creating your own digital product can be one of the greatest ways to start a business online. If you create the product yourself, you won’t have to spend any money in order to have something to sell. Another great benefit of creating your own product is that all of the profit is yours. You own it, so you don’t have to worry about only getting a portion of the products, which is what would happen if you sold someone else’s products. There are a few different types of digital products you can create, and each can be done to create many different products.

You can create an e-book. Many people have an interest in learning something, and if you find the right topic, you can create an e-book on it. Many people like purchasing e-books since it is easy to search through them and find what you are looking for. This is great for a how-to or to help someone solve a problem they are having.

You can create an audio file. Many people don’t want to take the time to read an e-book, and would prefer an audio file that they can listen to while they are on the go. This can also be great because you can just record a conversation you have with someone, and if it has enough information on it, you can sell it. If you don’t think you know anything of value, you can interview someone over the phone, and that can be your product.

You can create video files. Many people learn by watching, so sometimes a video file can be very helpful. You can record how to do something showing people step by step how something is done. This is great, since someone can watch parts over and over again until they understand how to do it themselves.

Once you come up with a topic that you have a lot of knowledge on, or know someone who has a lot of knowledge on, you can decide which type of digital product would work best for you. Just as a note, many people perceive audio and video files as higher end product than an e-book, and are usually willing to pay more for them. Once you create the product, which with an audio or video file could take just a little while, you can start selling your product online, and earning a profit off of it. You might even want to start an affiliate program and offer a small percentage of the profits to others in order to help them promote your product.

A really great thing about a digital product is that you create it once, and can keep selling it over and over again. If you set it up so that once payment has been made, the product is automatically sent to the customer, you won’t even have to worry about it anymore. You will be able to earn profits while you sleep, and while you are on vacation. This is another great reason that it can be great to create your own digital product.

Selecting Wedding Favors Made Simple

Couples may find that adding the selection of wedding favors to all the other tasks involved in planning a wedding, pretty mind boggling. Numerous reasons can cause feeling of being overwhelmed. One of the most significant reasons why a couple may feel overwhelmed about selecting their wedding favors is simply because they have so much to do while planning their wedding. There are a number of important details such as selecting a location, choosing centerpieces, coordinating the catering and other details that couples may simply just have too much to do. To alleviate this feeling of being overwhelmed it may be a good idea to ask a trusted family member of a close friend to be in charge of choosing the wedding favors. Of course this is only a viable option if the couple is willing to allow their friend or family member complete freedom to select the wedding favors. If they are constantly trying to oversee the effort it will cause additional stress. Examining how to delegate the task of choosing your wedding favors will be explored in this article. We will look at how to hand over this task and still be assured that you will have the wedding favors that you will be excited about for your guests.

The most important thing to remember when delegating the responsibility of selecting wedding favors to a friend or family member is that you have to carefully discuss your budget with the friend or family member beforehand. The person responsible for selecting the wedding favors should know exactly how much you can afford to spend on wedding favors so they do not exceed this amount. If you would like to spend less than your budgeted amount you need to share that information also. For example you may have $1000 available to spend on wedding favors but you may prefer to spend only $750 if possible.
Another factor to consider when delegating the responsibility of selecting wedding favors is your own personal taste and preferences. Before the process begins share your ideas of what your wedding favor could look like. One way to do this is to do a little research before delegating the responsibility. Providing examples of your preferences will be very helpful for both of you. This way they will have a good idea of the types of favors you are looking for and will likely select something you will think is appropriate.

Finally, if your friend or family member will not only be selecting the wedding favors for you but also making the purchase, you should make sure they are well aware of how many guests you are expecting and how many favors you would like to purchase. This is very important because it will help to make sure you do not find yourself with too few favors or that your friend or family member doesn’t order too many favors. The number of guests will also be important in the process of selecting wedding favors because this relates closely to your budget. However, if you do not want to give your friend or family member this information or are unsure of how many guests to expect you can give them a budget for the costs of each individual favor instead of an overall budget.

Understanding Differences Between Writing for the Web and Writing for Print

Knowing your audience and the purpose of your content is paramount whether writing for the web or for print. However, there are significant differences between the two mediums of which a writer must be aware before writing Web content for the first time.

Compared to print, the Web is generally an informal and immediate medium. Users have come to expect a more informal writing style that is more straightforward. Puns and figurative language don’t translate well and can often be confusing for international users.

With print media, users proceed linearly from page to page and they have a tangible product that can visually cue the user as to how much information there is and how the information is ordered. On the Web, there is no tangible product to size up, thus site navigation is an invaluable component of Web site content. A user can arrive at any page from any other page that is linked to it. Because users can move between any number of pages, in any order, every Web page should be independent from the others and able to explain the topic to the user without assuming the user has read any other related pages.

In the Western society, printed media is usually read starting at the top, then from left to right, then quickly to the very bottom of the right, leaving “dead space” at the bottom left side of the page. This “dead space” is an area on the page which the human eye is least likely to view and from which the human mind is least likely to comprehend information. The Nielsen Norman Group studied human reading patterns in their usability studies. Jakob Nielsen and Kara Pernice used eye-tracking equipment to record users’ eye movements and facial expressions as they viewed Web content. To capture this information, “cameras and infrared emitters were hidden behind small, dark windows at the top and bottom of the [computer] monitor.” The results of their study demonstrated that users have a tendency to read in an “F” pattern and most often focus on bulleted information. The implications of their findings indicate that Web-content writers can improve their Web pages by placing important content and navigation in these most frequently viewed areas.

Another important difference between print and Web content is how the content itself is presented. Web content should have 50% of the word count of its printed equivalent because Web users read about 25% slower from computer screens than from paper. This is why repurposing printed media, such as a brochure, as Web content does not usually provide an optimal experience for Web users.

Web content is most easily read if written in a sans-serif font, as opposed to the serif font standard typically used in print. Serifs, the “hooks” or “tails” on the ends of letters are designed to help transition a reader’s eye from letter to letter. On the Web, however, the serifs can sometimes impede readability due to the pixels in which computer fonts are created which cause content written in serif letters to run together on screen.

Additionally, sans-serif fonts are easier to read in small chunks, the way Web content is generally best written. Leaving white space in your Web content is as important as it is for print content. It helps guide the user’s eye to the content and improves the usability of the Web site.

Once the purpose of the site and the intended target audience are determined, as well as the unique requirements of writing Web content for best comprehension and user experience are understood, Web-content writers can begin effectively writing for the Web.

Why Purchasing Leads Don’t Work Most Of The Time

I received a phone call on my cell phone a couple days ago that reminded me why purchasing leads and cold calling never worked out for me. I answered the phone and the guy introduced himself and told me the name of his company which I had never heard of. He told me he was calling because I had submitted information that I was interested in starting a business from home. I told him there must be some kind of mistake, because I already had a home based business and was not looking for anything else, and haven’t been for the last few years. I asked him to please take me off his list, thanked him and politely let him go.

This brought back some very unpleasant memories for me. Memories of rejection. I knew I had not filled out any information about a home business opportunity. I might have filled out information on the internet for other things but nothing to do with working from home.

You see, people spend their hard earned money, purchasing these $3 - $4 each leads and most of the time they are people that filled out information about something else and has no interest in what you have to offer, or they were truly interested in a home business, but after being called by several network marketers in the same day, they quickly change their mind. You have wasted your time and theirs.

I am still convinced, if you want to build a huge list of good prospects, you have to generate your own leads. This way, the leads you are generating are people that have opted in to what you have to offer, and not just some poor victim that was shopping on line for sporting goods and got added to a biz opportunity leads list.

Again, if you want to build a huge list of highly qualified prospects, my suggestion is to generate your own leads. This might sound complicated, but it really is pretty simple to do. The thing is, if you are not familiar with these type of lead building strategies, it can seem impossible.

The good news is, there are lots of ebooks and information on the internet to help you with this. The bad news is, most of the time you pay for them.

I promote the same Internet Marketing system that I used and still use to build my online business. It is a free to join program that plugs you in to a 21 day success guide that will help you build your business online, with absolutely NO Cold Calling whatsoever.

You can use it with your current business or there are tested and proven affiliate programs that you can join that will help you earn a multiple income stream, and it is all in this guide. Everyone needs a road map to success in order to succeed. I credit my success online to this Internet Marketing system, and who knows, without it I might still be one of those guys on the phone every night making cold calls and getting rejected.

I recommend it to everyone trying to succeed with an online business, regardless of what company or product you are promoting.
