Do Your Ears Deserve Diamonds?

Your ears deserve to be beautified with divine accessories - just like your hands, arms and other parts of your body. Reward them with fine and fashionable jewelry! That means diamonds!

What better ways are there to lavish your ears than by accessorizing it with the most luxurious items on earth? Diamond earrings will surely make your ears hear a positive ring. This is surely the case whether you pick a simple diamond stud, a diamond encrusted hoop or even diamond chandelier earrings. But since diamonds are so lovely and many of us can not afford to have them, you must be wise in choosing the right earring for you. Here are some tips that may be of use for you.

For men, there are two simple choices. Diamond studs are perfect for men who want that simply punk look. These studs come in all sizes and colors. Just pick the one which reflects your character and your price range the most. Men may also opt to choose the upper ear lobe studs and hoops for a more daringly expensive look. These kinds of ice will surely bring out the fly guy in you.

Men have it easier when it comes to picking their sparklers - girls always have much more to care for when it comes to diamond earrings. There are always three basic groups of diamond earrings. These are studs, hoops and danglers. Studs are perfect for exuding simple elegance. It is the diamond earring of choice for the woman of subtlety. Hoops on the other hand are a bit more funky and edgy. They come in all diameters and sizes. Diamond earrings of this kind are perfect for work and play. As for the danglers, these are often the most expensive kinds. Dangling diamonds are most likely paired with haute couture gowns and are only used for special occasions. They are also repeatedly equated to stardom and popularity.

Women may also want to choose the diamond earring of the best color. White diamonds is the little black dress of the gem world. It is a perfect fit for all sorts of clothes and attires. However demure people may also opt for impishly tinted rocks like pink and yellow diamond earrings. However, the latter tend to clash with some beautiful couture colors like blue and green.

Now that you know all these, there’s only one little detail you have to take care of. That is the price! After that you’ll be all set towards grabbing your diamond earrings. These will make your ears shine like the vibrant sun. So go ahead and start picking your Leighton’s, Cartiers, DeBeers or Tiffany’s. All of these diamond earrings will surely feel like once in a lifetime treats.

Selecting the Correct Moulding

Each room in your home needs some type of moulding installed to create a finished appearance. There are a wide variety of mouldings available to invigorate a room with a sense of luxury or leave you with an inviting sense of contentment. To obtain the desired effect a quick study in the types of moulding available is required, as well as ways to ensure the correct moulding is selected for your particular project. The three basic types of mouldings include base moulding, chair rail and crown moulding.

Base moulding is installed along the lower portion or base of a wall and serves as a decorative transition from the floor material and the wall itself. Available in several widths, some preplanning is needed when choosing base moulding. Selecting moulding along the floor that is too wide will draw the eye downward and create an uneven feel, too narrow and base moulding will be overwhelmed by other decorative accents and mouldings in the room.

Chair rail moulding derives its name from the practical way it protects the wall it is attached to from collisions with rogue dining chairs. Not only reserved for use in the dining room, a chair rail can also serve as a cap for wainscoting or create a visual barrier for contrasting wall coverings.

Crown moulding exists at the junction between wall and ceiling, and typically serves a purely decorative purpose. It is possible and highly desirable to layer mouldings one on top of the other at the ceiling level to create a uniquely finished effect, just be careful not to overdo it. Architectural moulding has a particularly robust profile and is designed to resemble the built-up appearance of stacked moulding, without the hassle of a complicated installation. This type of moulding is ideal for ceiling installation due to its lightweight and solid, stable construction.

Moulding is constructed out of several types of material that will need to be considered before making your final selections. Decorative hardwood moulding is an ornate, intricately patterned option that is sure to enhance any room. The fine detailing and varied finishes places this moulding at the top of the list in terms of quality and value. Architectural moulding is made of durable polyurethane that behaves just like wood minus the warping, rotting or splitting, and tends to be the moulding of choice for the do-it-yourselfer.

In order to determine what style is best for the room in which you intend to install moulding, be prepared for a level of trial and error. Browse through your favorite home and architectural magazines for examples of moulding used in a way you admire. Use these pictures as your shopping guide. Obtain samples of the moulding profiles that appeal to you and experiment until to reach the desired balance. Casing, or moulding that surrounds doors and windows can be installed to compliment the selected base, crown or chair rail moulding as well.

How to Get Into Law School - Three Tips for the College Student

I would have never bothered to read an article like this at a time when it would have mattered because, unfortunately, I didn’t think about how to get into law school as early and often as I should have. Indeed, if you’re already more than half way through undergraduate school, you may want to look for advice somewhere else.

If, however, you are one of those chosen few youngsters who know what you want to do in life years before you have any business knowing such things, then I’ve got a few words of advice that will help you get into the law school of your dreams.

Although much of this will seem obvious, please take it to heart and try to understand why following these tips can make your life much easier in the future.

Tip #1 - Your GPA

The premise of this article relies on the assumption that you haven’t yet had the opportunity to screw up your college career yet. As such, you must make every effort to maximize your grade point average (”GPA”) during your undergraduate years.

Others will lie to you, but the truth is that your GPA, coupled with your LSAT score, are the most important factors in determining your admissibility to whatever law school you choose. Let me put this another way - your GPA is much, much, much more important than where you go to school, what activities you participate in, what classes you take, who your grandpa is, etc.

So if you are going to undergraduate school for the sole or primary reason of going to law school, take classes and pursue majors in which you can excel. Your high GPA will make life much easier when it comes time to apply to law school.

Tip #2 - Start Preparing for the LSAT Now

About 60% of prospective law students will do nothing or next to nothing to prepare for the Law School Admission Test (”LSAT”). Another 39% or more won’t do anything to prepare until six months or less before their test date. If you get started now, with literally years to perfect your understanding of the test and the time-proven strategies for maximizing your score, you have an excellent chance of getting a score that will virtually guarantee your admission to any school.

Anyone who has been through the process will tell you that the secret to success on the LSAT is practice. I’m not going to discuss the test and its components in any detail, but it is sufficient for me to say that the LSAT test does not test your knowledge of anything. Instead, it is designed to test your ability to think in certain ways.

Anyone can learn how to excel at thinking in these ways, but it takes lots of time and lots of practice. You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the few months before most people take the LSAT is a hectic time. In addition to preparing for the LSAT, you may be preparing your law school applications, finishing your final college courses, and rejoicing in the prospect of your impending graduation.

The result of all this is that even those who think they are preparing extensively aren’t even coming close to practicing as much as you could if you start now. So my advice is that you begin reading all the practice materials you can, completing practice tests and even attending LSAT prep classes now.

Changing the way you think - or training yourself to think in a certain way - is a demanding and (biologically) a lengthy process. If you give yourself years of preparation you will demolish even your smartest competitors who have spent just weeks or months learning how the LSAT works.

Tip #3 - Do Interesting Things

In the event even your best efforts don’t result in a 4.0 GPA and 175 of the LSAT, you will find yourself in need of the law school admission advice found in my book, Covert Tactics for Getting Into the Law School of Your Choice.

As you will learn, students without premier numbers are given an opportunity to plead their case for admission via a personal statement, interview and/or personal visit. When it comes time to make that case, you should have something interesting to say.

Thus, much as you should prepare for the LSAT now, you should begin gathering ideas for you personal statement now. Don’t “volunteer” just for the sake of volunteering, but seek opportunities to do fascinating things that may - or may not - reinforce your desire to go to law school.

This article may be freely reprinted or distributed in its entirety in any ezine, newsletter, blog or website. The author’s name, bio and website links must remain intact and be included with every reproduction.

Marketing Brand - Getting to the Heart of the Matter

Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”
Albert Einstein

How does that brand feel?

Sometimes the obvious isn’t all that matters when you brand your product. What may be visible to the commoner off the street may not be what you want to present to your customer. When this happens, close your eyes and let your heart view the product. Allow how you feel about your product to emerge and proliferate the brand that will effect marketing power.

What you love, should be shared.

When you project the emotion you feel about your product into the development and design your client understands the intrinsic value of your enthusiasm.

It’s difficult to purchase a car from a salesman who appears apathetic about his product. Put the enthusiasm you feel about your product in to your marketing efforts and allow your customers to understand why they should purchase it from you.

Package Quality; Show the value.

When a product is packaged with care, concern, and consideration for the buyer, you get their attention, before they test the product. They know you care.

A good friend who sells teacup novelties wraps each item in a soft rose print tissue paper and packages it with tender loving care. You know she cares about your enjoyment of her product because from the moment you cut the tape, each step that takes you closer to her product in increasingly enticing. From the delicate aroma of rose petals to the pretty pastel ribbons attached to delicate tags and labels, elegance and quality are her trademark; brand.

Give from your heart.

The secret of sales is understanding the gift. When you sell a product you firmly believe in, you are giving a gift of your understanding, to a person who needs what you offer. What they receive is value in place of their money.

Recognize the value of your product and know its worth.

When you perceive the actual value of your product, price it accordingly and offer valuable incentives to purchase your product, your customer feels valued. When you’re able to give the customer credible value, your product becomes worthy of their purchase. Sales is less about the product and more about the attitude with which the product is sold. Where is your value placed?

How to Write an Abstract

An academic abstract is a short restatement of all essential points of a research paper. The abstract is one single paragraph and is subject to specific word limits, typically under 300 words. It stands alone bellow the title or at the end of the paper. Note that an abstract is NOT an introduction or a plan to the paper. In the words of Craig W. Allin, “abstracts are an exercise in writing with precision and efficiency.”

In fact, the abstract is written after the investigation and the whole article is completed. It should be written in the same language as the paper and should be translated into one of the world languages. We can say that the primary purpose of an abstract is to permit a quick appraise of the applicability, importance and validity of a research paper. But always recall that the reader KNOW the subject but HAS NOT READ the paper.

The abstract presents the information in four general sections: INTRODUCTION, METHODS, RESULTS and CONCLUSIONS. It is worth noting that an abstract is only text and follows strictly the logical order of the paper. That is, the abstract ought to parallel the structure of the original paper. At the same time, it adds NO new information, i. e. that is not stated in the paper. Now notice that the abstract can be viewed as an independent document. It is because of this that it should be unified, coherent (i.e. providing appropriate transitions or logical linkage between the information included), concise, and able to stand alone. In other words, the abstract should be complete in itself.

Surely, it is sometimes the case that an abstract will be read along with the title and in general it will likely be read without the rest of the document. In fact, we might consider that the abstract is the most important part of a scientific paper. It follows, then, that it is an absolute must to include all the keywords related to the study. Notice that keywords (also called search terms) represent the most important terms or concepts (words or phrases) relevant to your topic.

There are two types of abstracts: descriptive and informative. The descriptive or indicative abstract, identifies the contents of the research or the basic subject of the article, demonstrating the paper’s organization without providing results or conclusions. Thus, it is not very informative. This type of abstract is always very short, usually under 100 words; and it is useful for a long report. On the other hand, the informative abstract, which is also known simply as a summary, gives the principal argument and summarizes the principal data, providing the reader with an overview of the objectives, methods, results and conclusions of the study. So, be specific. You may also have heard of a “structured abstract” — this is a subtype of the informative abstract which has more than one paragraph.

What to include?

The content of the abstract includes:

  • Motivation and purpose: main subject or research question and review of the relevant literature.
  • Specifics: problem statement, approach, objectives, hypothesis, research methodology (method(s) adopted or search strategies).
  • Results: main findings (proposed solutions to the problem) and discussion.
  • Conclusions and implications/outcomes: what the results mean and further points.

As we can see, the abstract must state:

  • The problem addressed and some background information.
  • The solution or insight proposed (newly observed facts).
  • An example that shows how it works.
  • An evaluation: a comparison with existing answers/techniques.

Then, an abstract should provide answers for the following questions:

  • What and why.

  • What you found.
  • How you did it.

But how do we begin?

What would be an effective way to begin an abstract? To help you on your way let us consider some introductory sentences.

First, let us see some opening sentences that DO NOT offer real information:

  1. This paper reports on a method for…
  2. The paper explores the notions of…
  3. The purpose of our research is to consider how…
  4. The objective of this study is to determine…

Thus, it is clear that you should avoid writing a statement of scope.

On the other hand, the sentences bellow represent good examples of introductory statements, for they go directly into the subject. They give something to the reader. Let us see how it works:

  1. The development process of hypermedia and web systems poses very specific problems that do not appear in other software applications, such as…
  2. Given a large set of data, a common data mining problem is to extract the frequent patterns occurring in this set.
  3. According to many recent studies the effect of learning style on academic performance has been found to be significant and mismatch between teaching and learning styles causes learning failure and frustration.

Do’s and don’ts of abstract writing

  • Do write a single paragraph.
  • Do meet the specific word length.
  • Do answer the questions: what, why, and how.
  • Do use familiar language to the reader.
  • Do use a few keywords.
  • Do write short sentences.
  • Do improve transitions between the sentences.
  • Do use active voice.
  • Do use third person singular.
  • Do begin with a clear introductory statement written in the present tense.
  • Do use past tense in the main body.
  • Do write a concluding statement in the present tense: just tells what the results mean (e.g. “These results suggest…”).
  • Do fix grammar.
  • Do use headings, subheadings and tables as a guide for writing.
  • Do print and reread the abstract.
  • Don’t cite the sections of the paper.
  • Don’t include references to the literature and to figures and tables.
  • Don’t use abbreviations.
  • Don’t add new information.
  • Don’t add superfluous information.
  • Don’t add opinions.
  • Don’t repeat information.
  • Don’t repeat the article title.

Fiberglass Columns

When designing a public building or a custom house, an architect is often looking for opportunities to include unique design touches. Since ancient times, one of the more distinctive architectural touches of choice for both public and private buildings has been the column.

Greek Columns

The columns used in construction of ancient Greek buildings that survive today can be divided into three architectural categories: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian. Primarily differentiated by the design of the column’s top, Greek columns are also distinguishable by their bases and the relative width of the column’s shaft.

Another distinguishing characteristic of Greek columns is that they were often “fluted,” meaning that they had channels carved into the shaft running parallel to one another along its length. The aesthetic tradition for fluting called for twenty four channels along each column.

The three styles of Greek columns developed over time from basic to ornate as the Greek civilization grew, prospered and invested in public grandeur.

Doric Columns

Generally speaking, the oldest and simplest design among the Greek columns is the Doric. The Doric column’s top, known as the capital, is a simple saucer-shaped design that is wider than the column’s shaft and opens upward to support the square top surface which in turn provides the structural support for which the column is designed.

Ionic Columns

The Ionic style of the Greek column has a capital that features a carved scroll curving out from each corner of its square top. These scrolls, also called spirals or helixes, are often connected in the carving - resembling a piece of paper with both ends wrapped and curled downward.

Corinthian Columns

The Corinthian Greek column is the most ornate and the most slender of the three designs. The base of a Greek column was more functional than decorative until the Corinthian style was developed. The capital on a Corinthian design has carved acanthus leaves, often wrapped around carved scrolls and interspersed with carved flowers or other ornamentation.

Roman Columns

The ancient Roman civilization adopted many of the social, cultural and physical characteristics of the Greek era that preceded the Roman Empire. There are many facets of Roman architecture that can be recognized as having originated in Greece and the Roman column is one of them. The Romans adopted the three Greek architectural styles for columns - Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian - and added two of their own: the Tuscan and Composite.

These five design variations are the principal styles found in Roman columns. Very similar in style to Greek columns, the principal differences in Roman column designs are in the bases and the capitals.

Tuscan Columns

The simplest Roman column is the Tuscan, which is an adaptation of the Greek Doric style. But unlike the Doric, the Tuscan has no base, no fluting and a saucer shaped top that supports a flat square area above it.

Roman Doric Columns

The Roman version of the Doric columns have bases and a top similar to the Tuscan; the shafts are fluted but with fewer and shallower channels than the Greek style.

Roman Ionic Columns

Roman columns in the Ionic style have capitals that feature scrolled carvings at the corners of the square top. They are similar but more ornate than their Greek counterpart.

Roman Corinthian Columns

The Corinthian design is the most elaborate of the Greek styles adopted by the Romans. Its capital features detailed carvings of leaves and flowers, often extending down the column.

Composite Columns

The Composite style is a Roman column that combines features of both the Greek Ionic and Corinthian designs. This elaborate and intricate carving style incorporated the acanthus leaves and floral designs with the scrolls or spirals found in Ionic designs.

Architectural columns can be decorative, load bearing, or both no matter which style is chosen and have a number of uses that range from the purely functional to intricately decorative.

Comcast Bundles Cable TV, High Speed Internet And Digital Voice

There are a few types of technology that are pretty important for providing you with the level of connectivity and entertainment that you expect and deserve in your own home. These types of technology include cable TV, high speed Internet, and of course home phone service. The good news for you is that it’s possible to get all three from Comcast in one low monthly bill.

The cable TV service has been known for over the years, and now that facet of this business has taken a quantum leap forward with the shift to digital TV. Digital TV uses computer technology to make TV programming clearer than it ever was before and to provide you with interactive features like on screen program guides and parental controls. These two features are available on all of Cable TV programming packages and will provide you with the ability to determine what’s on and when it’s on.

In the case of the parental controls, you’ll even be able to keep your kids from accessing inappropriate material. For example, even the most basic package has all of your local channels, access to a special pay per view service, and forty five channels of digital music. But when you get into the larger programming packages, you’re looking at access to over two hundred and seventy five channels including all of the best cable TV channels, premium movie packages, special video on demand features, and even HDTV channels! With all of those choices, an on screen program guide is indispensable when it comes to determining what to watch when. After all, that’s far too many channels to surf through effectively.

High speed broadband Internet service will also give you plenty of options when it comes to how you get your entertainment and interact with the outside world. The Internet provides a whole range of choices for entertainment that are practically invisible to you at the slower speeds of dial up. With download speeds of up to 8 megabytes per second, you’ll be able to enjoy online video, digital music downloads, and digital photographs all with an ease that’s impossible with slower internet connections. You can even download software and, if you’re really ambitious, download full length movies in the data intensive HDTV format.

When you aren’t undertaking massive downloads, this type of Internet connection provides more than enough speed and bandwidth to allow your entire family to surf at one time. With a wireless router, your entire home will become a WiFi hot spot that allows your whole family to surf the Internet on their computers and other devices with wireless connections.

Of course greater access to the Internet also provides a greater risk that hackers will have access to your computers. You’ll get free access to McAfee anti virus software for as long as you subscribe to the Internet service. You’ll also get free virus definitions and other updates for that software in order to protect your systems from new threats.

When you add the digital voice service, with it’s money saving features like free domestic long distance, you can see that you got a complete home telecommunications package for one low monthly payment!

Julia Hall writes articles for consumers who want to find the latest technology news. Wedding Plans - Guest List, Caterers and Florist

When you prepare for your wedding, be assured that it will be an enjoyable but hectic and potentially difficult task. Therefore it is advisable that you make a list of all the important things to remember and accomplish, such as the wedding budget, the guest list, invitations, and the caterer, just to name just a few. Really itemizing the important things that concern your wedding will help get you go through the wedding process easier and without any hitch. Decide on your guest list, caterers and florist.

You should prepare the guess list preferably months before your wedding. When you prepare for your wedding, you must always prioritize the guest list. Planning this list can be difficult. But the one important thing to remember is to just invite the people that are closest to you. You do not need to invite all of the people in the company that you work for because most of them will not come anyway. And, how do you choose? You cannot choose one person without offending another and, of course, you cannot invite them all - that would REALLY blow your budget! You must likewise have the invitations ordered four months or so before the wedding - and you should mail these Invitations four to five weeks in advance. This is to make sure that the invitations get to the receivers on time. Also make sure that the invitations are sent with sufficient postage lest they reach the invitee too late for them to make appropriate arrangements - especially if they live a good distance away. Invitations do not have to be written by a pen - although it makes a nice touch. Some try to avoid computerized wedding invitations.

Choosing a caterer is another important task to do when you prepare for your wedding. It is imperative that before hiring your caterer, try and sample their food. If your caterer is a restaurant, then it is best to have dinner there - go incognito if you must! Food and reception is an important part of a wedding and if the food that is served is bad, then you will get some guests complaining which is not good for them and is not good for you.

What would a wedding be without flowers? Choose a florist who can deliver what you envision for your wedding. Again, if you are going to meet with a florist for the flowers, state your available budget. Also provide the florist important details such as the color and motif of the wedding.

Planning starts from the very moment you decide to get married. Adequate planning can reduce your stress and helps to ensure that you won’t find too many last minute hitches.
