If you are being rejected by lenders due to a bad credit record, you need to do the necessary things to make it right and turn that bad credit into a good credit record. The first step is to establish a new credit
account. Over time and with responsible behavior you can improve your credit score and ultimately your ability to get the credit you need.

It would appear that this would be an easy process when you consider all the offers that show up in our mail. Even those that claim to be pre-approved credit cards for bad credit require more than just filling out a form. Know what you are getting yourself into and you will be on your way to repairing your credit.

Credit Cards to Repair Bad Credit ARE Different!

* There is usually an annual membership fee ranging from $25 - $100.
* The Annual Percent Rate (APR) is higher than a standard credit card.
* A security deposit may be required to establish a line of credit, if your credit record is extensively damaged.
* Charges for cash advances, late payments and over-limit fees will be higher than a standard card.

Making the Right Choice
If you need credit quickly, the fastest and easiest card to get is a secured credit card. With this type of credit, you will be putting up a security deposit to cover the loan. The lending companies are much more willing to approve a secured credit
card because their risk is minimal with your own money backing the loan. The obvious downside is that your own funds will be tied up but in return your will be moving toward repairing your bad credit record.

A more desirable option would be to secure a standard unsecured credit card. A security deposit is not required but the credit limit will be low. Over time the limit will be increased as you show your credit worthiness and you will eventually be offered lower interest rate cards.

If it Sounds too Good to Be True . . .
One word of caution about offers that promise to get you a credit card regardless of your past history or your current financial situation. These promotions often require a processing fee before they will approve you for a card. The catch is that the once you pay the fee the company vanishes - with your money. The worst case scenario would be that they will take your personal identification information and use it to steal your identity.

Caution is advised when dealing with a company that:

” Guarantees your approval without a credit check or regardless of your credit history
” Has an international address or phone number
” Asks for money upfront ” Requires that you wire money business or individual
” Has a recorded message at the posted phone number directing you to call a difference number

Tips to insure a legitimate company:

” Deal with brick and mortar stores in your area
” Check out the company with the Better Business Bureau
” Call and verify that your agent is actually affiliated with the company

Beware the Cost of Borrowing
When dealing with a bad credit record, the cost of borrowing will be very high. Whenever possible, it is best to purchase with cash; but for emergencies or life’s essentials having credit available is a blessing.

Purchasing for today with the idea of paying it off in the future is a dangerous slippery slope into possible debt problems. Always pay off your credit card balance each month.

Be Optimistic
Be patient, persistent, and optimistic about the efforts you are making to improve your credit report. As you establish a history of on-time payments, your credit report will reflect a better standing
and you will qualify for credit cards at lower annual percentage rates.

Most people think that they are pretty good at writing emails, yet most people do not have clue how to write an email properly. This indicates a lack of understanding that an email is more than just a means of communication. It is a persuasive work of art that requires specific skills even to get it opened.

First you must decide what format your email is to be in. If you have the choice of only one, it should be plain text rather than html. Everybody can receive plain text. Even if the have their email system set to html, it will default to plain text if the email is in that format. he reason for this is that many people do not like html emails, and always accept only plain text.

Even some of the most successful internet marketers use plain text only. If you have the option of both, then use both. Send in html with a plain text alternative. Then you have to think about the line formatting. Keep to below 65 characters per line. Most email systems can handle up to 65, but if you go over, the text that overruns will appear on the next line, then your next line start under that.

A badly formatted email looks amateurish and does nothing to improve the confidence of the reader that you are competent in internet marketer. These errors are generally made by amateurs, and your prospect is less liable to purchase from you.

As with every business, there are good days and bad. One of the best ways to INCREASE the good days and DECREASE the bad is to really focus on increasing your online sales. Here are a few to start:

* Give your prospects extra incentives so they will order quicker. It could be free shipping, a faster shipping option, free gift wrapping, etc. More choices always will translate into more sales.

* Make your small business look big on the world wide web. Design your web site using professional graphics, ordering systems, organized layouts, etc. The online consumer doesn’t know how big/small or even how successful you are.

* Attract a lot more customers by giving them clear ordering instructions. Give them all the information they need so they can complete their order easily. Anytime you can eliminate doubt, you increase sales.

* Give your customers buying incentives so they’ll make repeat purchases. Offer them discounts, free gifts, bonus points, etc. Look at Amazon as a prime example. Notice how they “tie-in” a discount if you buy additional items.

* Tell people about your site whenever you get a chance. Those people will tell other people and so on. It’s a cheap way to multiply your advertising. Don’t forget to add your website to EVERY bit of correspondence you have, including personal emails. A clickable URL in an email can equal a sale.

* Write and send press releases for your web site. Use strong headlines, make it newsworthy, and tell the journalist why their readers would like it. Do this regularly. Use the big companies as examples. Target, Kmart etc all send out WEEKLY flyers in the Sunday paper.

* Use a lot of headlines on your web site and ezine. Some types of headlines are free offers, questions, problem solvers, sales, and statistics. Tie this in with your advertising & run weekly “specials”.

* Advertise your online business by dressing in clothes that are imprinted with your ad. It could be a T-shirt, ball cap, coat, etc.
Don’t go overboard. Keep the logo about the same size as your hand. T-shirts are the exception, but most Ads go on the back with a small logo on the front.

* Use reward programs to keep people revisiting your web site and buying your products. You could reward gifts or discounts for revisiting or buying. Also, many companies give away the aforementioned promotional clothing items with a large purchase (ball cap, t-shirt). Give it a try!

* Use incentives to gain referrals if you don’t have an affiliate program. Tell people when they refer customers you will award them with free products.

* Stay away from overloading your web site with audio & video that load/play with your website. They can create a slow loading web page and distract people away from your offer.

* Keep people at your web site as long as possible. Allow them to download free ebooks, sign-up for contests, use free online services. Also, adding a “helpful tip” on each page will keep them clicking for more. Good Luck!

Vacationing in Quebec

Quebec is the largest Canadian province and contains a fair amount of barren, sparsely populated land. It’s also home to cool, cosmopolitan Montreal and an array of mesmerizing outdoor scenes, however, making it a land of contrasts, complexity and endless vacation possibilities. Whether looking to find a slice of Europe this side of the Atlantic or hoping for a place of comfort and mountain-accented retreat, the vast land of Quebec surely holds what you seek.

With a history that includes the influences of the native Iroquoians as well as French explorers like Samuel de Champlain, Montreal has elements of industry, adventure and power struggles inlaid deep within its foundation. The French ultimately took control of this ever-bustling town, making for a unique atmosphere that continues to be dominated by non-English language and culture even today. A trip here will be educational as well as entertaining thanks to the intermingling of so many unique ingredients, so prepare for an eye-opening experience that no other city can quite replicate.

The summer is the best time to visit Montreal, when the average temperature is 79 degrees and the nights are pleasantly cool. Some rainfall is to be expected but there’s lots of sunshine as well and in comparison to the frigid, snowy winters, the summer months are kind and gentle. So in this climate of contentment feel free to wander through the cobblestone streets, climb to the top of Mount Royal, search the depths of the St. Lawrence for a life’s deeper meaning and save plenty of time to relish the unique shopping, dining and people watching opportunities.

The Place des Arts is the place to find the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and several theatres and concert halls. Yearly festivals include the Montreal International Jazz Festival and Montreal Francofolies, and several different neighborhoods reveal both daytime and nighttime activities that range from tame and family-friendly to highly hedonistic. In short, this is a typically vibrant melting pot of a city with nothing quite typical about it.

If you’ve come to Canada with the intention of finding some wide open spaces or absorbing outdoor activities, then head north of the city towards Mont Tremblant. Winter and summer are both fine times to explore the forests of the National Park, engage in lake and river-themed activities and go for a ski at one of the resorts. Fishing, hiking, horseback riding and dog sledding are a few of the most popular pursuits here in this quiet but action-packed region, so no matter what season you decide to visit expect to find that much sought after balance of peace and excitement that not every destination has the power to deliver.

Mont Tremblant is 90 minutes north of Quebec’s major airport and exists as a haven for harried city people and anyone who’s forgotten what it’s like to breathe fresh air and work up a sweat in a non-gym environment. In addition to the endless number of possible diversions there are dozens of vacation condos and chalets in this area. Finding a lodging situation that will make you and your companions comfortable during those in-between moments is a priceless commodity. Instead of dreading the return to your accommodations, returning “home” will be a pleasure.

Modern conveniences, tasteful decorations and all the space that you need set vacation rentals apart, and they also tend to deposit vacationers wherever it is they want to be. Slope side or in the city, convenient to the boutiques and supermarkets or tucked away off the beaten path, villas, apartments and condos come in all shape and size and spring up where we need them.

Check out all the Quebec Vacation Rentals and choose the one that looks and feels right. Your upcoming trip to this wonderful, slightly wild destination deserves that everything is put in order before you’ve left town, so begin the process and prepare to have a little fun.

Quite a while back I read about a marketing strategy employed by Burger King that I think is pretty smart - and it would be worthwhile for all of us to follow suit.

It seems that they have this competitor - McDonalds - who is larger and has far more resources. In business, this is important. The more you have to work with, the better you are able to withstand temporary setbacks, swings in the economy, etc. PLUS you have more to spend in product research, finding prime locations and all that sort of thing.

“So what? ” you ask. I’m a photographer, not a fast food maven.

Hang in there, it’s coming.

BK, thinking that sooner or later the superior resources would do them in, started thinking of ways to get around the problem. One brilliant solution to a huge problem, uses their opponents strength against them!

A VERY important factor in the success or failure of a fast food restaurant, is location. (It’s the same in most other retail businesses as well.) McDonalds has the resources to spend tens of thousands of dollars - maybe hundreds of thousands - hiring location scouts, realtors working solely for them, traffic studies, zoning studies and on and on.

I’m sure there are a million different factors in the selection of a great location.

Burger King either didn’t have - or didn’t want to spend - the money needed to find locations as good as the ones found by McDonalds.

What to do?

They let McDonalds find them!

After McDonalds spends all this money, the odds of it being a great location are about 100%, so Burger King adopted a strategy of watching McDonalds - and then opening a location within a block or so of them!

Don’t believe it? The next time you see a Burger King, look around, there’s a McDonalds just down the street! Guaranteed! Did the strategy work? You bet!

So, what has this got to do with marketing your photography?

The point is, why reinvent the wheel? As a small business person, you need every advantage you can get. Why stumble around in the dark? If you want to market your photography, find a successful photographer and do the same thing they are doing.

They paid a lot of money in trial and error tests to get where they are today, there’s no point in you tossing your money down the same hole. Not everything will work the same way for everyone, but at least it’s a start and will get you pointed in the right direction.

If you want some ideas…tried and tested…that work, go to my website listed below and sign up for the free marketing course. You’ll be glad you did.

The headline, has achieved its part of your sales process. It has stopped your prospects in their tracks, and compelled them to read more. You must now persuade them why the have to take up your offer, irrespective of the offer made in the headline. Provide them with a list of benefits. Taking the golf slice as an example:

“You will learn how to cure your slice immediately if it happens to you on course the way Tiger does it, so that you can retain accuracy and length.”

“You will be able to teach your foursome buddies how to cure their slice: you won’t have to buy drinks all day!”

Etc, etc.

Add another half a dozen which you are sure to be able think about, since your offer is being made on your website about something you know a lot about. Make sure that you stress the benefits rather than the features of your product. “A super-dimpled hard covered golf ball that gives you more loft” is a feature, but “A golf ball guaranteed to add 40 yards to your drive” is a benefit. Same thing, but expressed in different ways. One gets the customer’s attention, the other doesn’t.

Finally, call them to action. “CLICK HERE, or this offer is almost over, so don’t miss it.” or “Click below or you may never get another chance. “

Don’t forget our great guarantee, “if this does not work for you, then you have 60 days to request your money back.” You have now met the promise offered in your headline. Not exactly as your prospect may have understood it, but it served its purpose by keeping them interested.

These are the basics of writing a web sales letter, and if you follow them properly then who needs a professional to write it for you? You are quite capable of doing it yourself.

Your headline should attract their attention and make them salivate for more information. Don’t offer impossible things. Don’t state “Earn $10,000 every Week Using my System”. Nobody will believe you because it has all been said before. It never, ever happens. Offer them something that will benefit them, but make it realistic. Offer them a regular income, or a product that will help them.

“Why Keep Slicing that Golf Ball: Pay us Only if we Cure it For You.”

“If you Don’t Make $800 in your First Month, Pay us Nothing - If You do, Pay us $47″.

These are difficult headlines to ignore. They will likely get a high percentage of readers wanting to read more. The reason is that they resolve a problem, with the promise of you paying only if they succeed. You try them free, and if it fails don’t pay! Marvellous! What could be better. Could you imaging an offline store making that kind of offer?

So that’s the start. The headline that keeps them interested. Now, you must then provide them with the information they now want. Obviously such offers are not going to simply provide them with the tuition, or the software or whatever, then ask them to volunteer to pay later if it works. They are simple other ways of presenting your guarantees - guarantees that you legally have to provide in any case. However, you have just put them into a form of words that make a great headline, and seem as if you are making a fantastic offer that they can hardly refuse.

Greening Your Charity Carwash

The charity carwash is a great way for any school, club, or non-profit to raise money. It’s fun and you’ll usually get a good turnout. One thing that’s often overlooked is the environmental impact of a charity carwash on our water supply. Let’s stop and think about this for a moment. You’ll be washing dozens of cars in a small area over the course of a few hours. All the pollutants you’ve just scrubbed off your patrons cars, including brake dust, oils, exhaust fumes, and heavy detergents, has now entered into the environment completely untreated. Not only is this illegal (see the EPA’s requirements), but it also going to have a serious impact on local waterways.

There are a few preventative measures your group can take before you hold one of these events. One of the best ways is to team up with a local carwash. Their facilities will use less water, be faster, and most importantly, treat any water before it’s released back into the environment. You’ll safely be able to comply with EPA regulations, while also holding a more efficient fundraiser.

Another alternative is to hold a charity waterless car wash. These products will allow your group to wash cars without using soapy suds and hoses. What’s nice about waterless car wash products is that they give you greater flexibility of where you’d like to hold your carwash. Since there is no need for a water-hookup, you’ll be able to pick and ideal location.

A great online resource for more information is the Puget Sound Car Wash Association. They help local charities coordinate an eco-friendly car wash. I’d definitely recommend checking it out for more ideas. Good luck!

Writing a web sales letter to attract customers is a skill. It is a learned art, yet it is probably one of the most important skills you will have to learn in internet marketing. It is not a matter of supply and demand, since there are many, many people offering to writer sales letters, yet there are so few that can do so in the unique manner required to make an impact on the internet.

That word ‘unique’ is the important word. If you think about it seriously, how many products of every different kind are being offered for sale on the internet right at this moment when you are reading this article? A million? Ten million? How about a 100 million? That’s how many sales letters there are, so it takes something special to stand out from the crowd.
