I find it very interesting the way people will use words interchangeably. For example, when people ask ,e what the best home business idea is, what they’re really asking is what the easiest home business idea is to pull off. Let’s face it, nobody wants to work to hard at something, especially when there is no guarantee that they’re going to see any tangible results for their efforts. So while we may be looking for the easiest, what we really should be looking for is the best, because ultimately, over the long haul, the best is what is going to give you the best results.

So, that brings us to the $64,000 question. What IS the best home business idea? Well, the answer is going to surprise you. There isn’t one. No, I’m not being funny or a wise guy. I’m telling you the absolute truth and something that may be the best advice you’ll ever get. So in order to clarify that I just said, let me elaborate.

The problem with most home based business ideas, and you know the ones I’m talking about, is that the people who come up with these ideas assume that everybody is the same. So they come up with a cookie cutter site and business plan and assume that they can plug everybody into it. This couldn’t be farther from the truth and the reason why 95% of all people who start their own business online end up failing.

The main reason for this is that we all have our own skills and abilities. Some of us are great writers but we can’t design a web site to save our lives. Then there are those who have no writing skills whatsoever but are pretty good with graphic design. The combination of skill sets for each individual is almost limitless. And those skill sets also include how business minded we are as well. There are those of us who come from a great business background, maybe even majored in business in college, to whom starting a home business would be like a walk in the park. Then there are those of us who are maybe more creative but don’t even know how to balance a checkbook.

The point is, because of the diversity of our skills, there is no way that any one business model is going to work for everybody. So, having said all this, what is my suggestion for starting your own home business and what is ultimately the best home business idea for you?

Sit down and make a list of your hobbies and interests. Also make a list of your skill sets. By doing this, you’ll get an idea of what you’re most qualified to do. After you have done this, go to any search engine and start typing in some of these interests and skill sets. You’re basically looking for two things in doing this. The first thing you’re looking for is a market for these skills and interests that you can possibly break into as far as selling items that fill a need in that area, assuming you want to get into Internet sales.

The second thing you’re looking for is to see if there are any actually home based jobs that you can do from the comfort of your home using these skills and interests. Why? Because some of us really don’t want to run a business. What we really want is to work from home. By doing this, you are very likely to find a telecommuting or freelance job that you can do from home.

What’s the best home business idea? It’s what’s best for YOU.

PPC – Pros and Cons of PPC

PPC - Pros and Cons of PPC

PPC advertising is basically buying traffic from a search engine. You first have to go through a bidding war on your choice of keywords and only then do your ads begin to appear as you have set them up in your campaign.

The first key to success in PPC advertising is to choose the right keywords based on the main content of your website as well as the nature of your business. Keywords are the words users enter on a search engine when looking for information. The more specifically you can target those keywords the more prominently your advertisements are displayed. Note that popular keywords have higher bids. Your bid will determine the placement of your advertisement. The higher you bid the more hits you will generate but then take into account the conversion ratio before making outrageous bids.
The good thing about PPC is that it is all pretty straightforward. You do not need to be some sort of Internet guru to use it effectively and it is also quite economical so that even a person with modest budget can afford it. Finally, you only pay for your PPC ads when someone actually clicks on them. There is no cost for displaying them on the search results page. This is the most cost effective way of advertising on the Internet.

The obvious drawback is that your competitors can click on your ads just to raise your advertising bill. You will be spending money for no reason at all. The last disadvantage of PPC is that though it is effective it is not viable in the long term.

Creating a memory is an absolute must to being a superstar teacher. It is not enough just to know your material. You must be able to present the subject matter in such a way that it sticks with the learner. However, this is not as easy as it might sound. In today’s world, you have to compete with television, movies, and video games that are readily accessible to just about everyone.

So, what can you do to compete? Well, get creative and find a hook! Start thinking of projects and activities that you can use to strengthen your core material. Yes, it will take imagination, extra work and persistence. But the payoff will be tremendous.

Here are seven tips to help you focus on creating a memory that will last.

1. Make a Connection

The quickest and easiest way to create a memory is to connect the new material to something the learner already knows. If you can successfully make a connection between the new material and something that has already been learned. The new material will move from the short term memory to the long term memory for and create a memory.

2. Take Action

Incorporating action or a series of actions into the learning process is very helpful. Actions will act as a glue that will cement the new material to the old material and increase the likelihood of creating a memory.

3. Be Sense Able

It is very important to get the senses involved when trying to create a memory. You need to use smells, tastes and touch to make the memory come alive to the learner. When the senses get involved so do the emotions and emotions can create a strong bond with your long term memory.

4. Paint a Picture

Your mind thinks in pictures not words. So in order to create a lasting memory, you must create pictures to go along with your information. Even better, imagine silly ridiculous pictures and you will create a lasting memory.

5. Add a Little Color

Your imagination sees things in color. So use bight, vivid colors with your pictures. See the yellows, the reds, and the blues that are in your pictures and you will create a lasting memory.

6. Have a Little Humor

Humor is a great way to help create memories. People love to laugh and tend to remember things that strike them as funny. The sillier the picture you create, the better it will be remembered. Don’t be afraid to be funny, let your humor show.

7. Review and Repetition

It is important to repeat the information. You need to go through the actions, the colors, and the pictures again and again to reinforce the connections. Every time you repeat the actions, pictures and humor you strengthen the connection between the familiar and the unfamiliar creating a lasting memory.

Want to be a superstar teacher? If the answer is yes, take the time to learn how to create lasting memories.

Change Your Life In One Pivotal Moment

Everyone is looking for more…for a better life…an EXTRAORDINARY life. The following ‘gems of wisdom’ that we are delving into below are brilliant gems from some of the most intelligent and evolved souls that ever lived and will give you the tools you are looking for to create more abundance in your life! This information will change your life forever and will help you begin living the life you’ve always dreamed of. This profound wisdom is exhilarating, inspiring and motivating for people who are looking for a more intelligent way to live and will help you to master all the circumstances in your life. The gems contained in my new book, “Change Your Life In One Pivotal Moment” are what I like to call the ‘best of the best’ of over 150 books on spirituality and philosophy that I have read over the past 15 years. It is my hope that they will resonate within you and get you excited about creating more abundance, prosperity and success in your life right away!

It’s time to take your life back and realize that YOU are the expert in your life and no one else. It’s time to put yourself on a path that includes a bigger life for yourself as well as a more self-directed life that contains much more happiness, success, harmony and peace of mind. Your good IS seeking you and the potentiality of one is the potentiality of all, so let’s get started!

Listed below are a few of these wonderful ‘gems of wisdom’ found in my book. Let’s take a look at them and delve much deeper into their meaning AND their ability to help you to tap into the power you already possess within! This new knowledge will absolutely help you to accept and create much more abundance, prosperity and success in every area of your life.

1. ‘Argue for your limitations and they’re yours.’

Definition: YOU are the person that determines your level of success and no one else. ‘It’s not very crowded on that last mile,’ is a familiar saying in business. It’s easy to give up and list all the reasons why something cannot be accomplished or why YOU cannot do it. The most successful people in the world are problem-solvers. They are presented with obstacles and they continually and confidentially look for ways to overcome those obstacles. Don’t be someone who gets easily discouraged and gives up. Nothing worthwhile is ever handed to us. If you tell people you can’t do something, they will take you at your word and move beyond you and onto someone else who is determined to do it! Begin being a confident problem-solver and look at ways to overcome your obstacles. Don’t accept what you perceive to be your ‘limitations’ because once you do, they will become a part of your experience. Your affirmation should always be, “I can and I will!”

2. ‘Thoughts are things and your thoughts create your reality.’

Definition: You are what you think about all day long! Our thoughts and beliefs will always create our outer reality. How you are feeling about something is how you are perceiving it. If you are thinking thoughts about your success and prosperity that is indeed what you will draw to you as your ‘energy’ or ‘vibration’ will be at the level of your thoughts and beliefs. (You MUST be in harmony with something to attract it!) Conversely, if you are thinking thoughts of lack and limitation, THAT is what you will be drawing to you no matter what you may be ’saying’ to the contrary. It is never what you are saying that becomes the reality in your life, it is your BELIEF about someone or something that will be what will be reflected in your life.

We have what’s called, ‘free will’ which means that we have the freedom to choose whatever thoughts we concentrate on most each day. Therefore, we MUST take responsibiity for our lives as they are, because WE have chosen our thoughts and beliefs each day and have created the life we are now living. However, if you don’t like your life as it is, you CAN change it. Remember the great Universal Law which is ‘Change your thoughts and change your life!’

3. Pray to God, but row to shore. -A Russian proverb.

Definition: This is one of my favorite sayings of all times. It is ok to be spiritual and pray to God for help, but as human beings on this earth plane, we need to also do the work! You cannot get something for nothing.

4. “A man is about as happy as he makes up his mind to be.” -Abraham Lincoln.

Definition: It’s true, YOU decide how you will react to the things that happen in your life and that, then, will determine your happiness or unhappiness each day. Many people, unfortunately choose to be unhappy no matter what the circumstances are in their lives. They also mistake things outside of themselves for bringing them their happiness, when the fact is that happiness is an INSIDE job. There is another saying that there is nothing outside of you that will ever make up for the emptiness that you feel inside. Make a promise to yourself today to focus on happiness inside and out…for you can only truly be happy if you are happy WITHIN!

5. “The levels of thinking that got you to where you are now will not get you to where you dream of being. -Albert Einstein.

Definition: Most people get to a point in their lives where they think they’ve ‘made it’ and then they want to stay there and not experience any more change. That is impossible. One of the only guarantees in life is that change will continue to happen. It never stays still. We need not fear change. Change keeps our life fresh, it helps us to continue growing forward toward an even greater good. We are not here to stagnate in our jobs or our relationships. We are here to ‘make a living,’ not ‘make a dying,’ but so many people hang on so tenaciously to dead-end jobs that give them very little in return. If that is you, it’s time to reassess your condition and start believing that you are a spiritual being having a human experience and not the other way around. You are here to prosper and to thrive in every area of your life. Tell yourself that you will no longer live a life that is merely ’status quo!’

6. “It’s time to stop wishing for fewer problems, and start wishing for greater wisdom.” -Robin Sharma.

Definition: Problems and challenges are a part of life. That is a fact. It is much better to start cultivating greater wisdom to help you overcome your challenges with ease and grace instead of wishing that challenges will cease altogether because we know that will never happen.

Through these ‘gems of wisdom,’ you CAN have greater wisdom which will help you to successfully overcome all your challenges. I hope you will delve further into getting many more intelligent answers to some of life’s toughest questions though the 100 quotes and sayings in “Change Your Life In One Pivotal Moment!” God Bless!

I just read Brian Tracy’s Sales Success Newsletter on “Move Out of Your Comfort Zone”.

I have heard about moving out of your comfort zone many times. But it did not sink in until these recent months.

I was out of job for more than a year. I have worked for more than two decades in the IT industry. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and then something unfortunate happened to my husband. I decided to do less conventional things to achieve what I have not yet achieved in life and perhaps after that, to enjoy life without worries.

I have been asked many times if I would like to go back to work full-time. My answer has always been I would like a change in my life and have more time for the family.

Like most people, I fear changes. Any change, or even an attempt to change anything I am doing, makes me uncomfortable. I think this is generally true for most people.

One of my mentors once told me that in order to achieve more, do not be afraid to do things that make me uncomfortable.

I always feel like giving up and not doing anything uncomfortable. But I know that in order to do something different and achieve success, I have to force myself to move out of my comfort zone. I am currently involved in sales and meeting and doing a great presentation is not my forte.

At first, I felt uneasy, experienced stress, tension and embarrassment as I was just too self-conscious. I knew I had to learn to overcome it if I really want to achieve my goals and be successful in life.

How did I overcome my fear and move out of my comfort zone?

a) First, I found out the reason why I had these uneasy tensed and nervous feelings. I felt silly for a grown person like me to have these kinds of reactions. After some soul searching, I realized that I was afraid of making a fool of myself in the event that I did not get the facts right. Also, I was afraid that my mind would go blank on me leaving me totally embarrassed.

b) To resolve my problem, I worked on memorizing the facts and paying particular attention to the salient points of the presentation. I also learnt from others who are better and more experienced than me. I would attend other people’s presentations and take notes. Before any presentation, I get myself prepared and rehearsed my speech over and over again.

c) Last but not least, I met my fear head on by doing the presentation repetitively. I found that by concentrating on the task, I would not be so self-conscious.

Well, it works! But, every now and then, I have to remind myself as I tend to forget. I hope this will become part of me very soon.

How to Increase our Earning?

Since I am in sales now, I like to read Brian Tracy’s newsletters as Brian Tracy is an expert in Sales, Time Management and Personal Development. He said that in order for us to sell more and earn more, we must see and think about ourselves as capable of becoming the highest-earning salespeople in our field. We have to develop a new self-concept for sales and income that is more consistent with what we really want to accomplish.

Here are the ways to increase our earning:
a) Increase the amount we believe we are capable of earning.
b) Raise our aspirations, set higher goals, and make detailed plans to achieve them.

Build Our Self-Concept Level of Income
Our self-concept determines our levels of performance and effectiveness in everything we do.

In sales, there are many mini-self-concepts that govern every activity of selling. They are:

a)-self-concept for prospecting, for using the telephone, for cold calling, for making appointments, for qualifying, for presenting, for answering questions, for closing, for getting referrals, and for making follow-up sales, and
b)-self-concept of our level of product knowledge, our personal management skills, our level of motivation and for the way that we relate to different types of customers.

In every case, we always perform in a manner consistent with our self-concept.
Hence, it is very important to work on having a high self-concept to enhance our performance.

If we have a high self-concept for making presentations or for closing sales, we feel comfortable and competent whenever we are doing them.

On the contrary, if we feel tense or uneasy in selling, it means that we have a low self-concept in that area. Since, we do not feel comfortable when we are engaged in that activity, we will probably avoid that activity as much as possible. Isn’t that true?

Well, I suppose this is normal and natural for most people. The only question is, “What are we going to do about it?”

As recommended by Brian Tracy, we can Get Better Results immediately by doing the following:

1)-First, set a goal today to become one of the highest earning people in our field.
2)-Then, back our goal with action by committing to becoming very good in our field. For example, go for training and equip ourselves with more relevant skills.
3)-See ourselves, imagine and visualize ourselves as if we are already very good at what we do. Create within ourselves the feeling of success and accomplishment.

To Your Sweet Success,

The day you decide that you need to buy a digital camera you will need to consider various facts. By doing this you will be ready to compare the various digital camera features and decide which digital camera you wish to buy. There are of course many features available when we talk about digital cameras so you will need to isolate what features interest you as a photographer before buying.

So you may start by asking what are the features you want are or need that will help you take great looking photographs. One important factor you might want to consider is the amount of pixel that is offered on the various type of digital cameras.

Of course if you want to compare digital camera features like this you might want to have a buyer’s guide that will list all the various features for each camera model. For example you will be able to compare the amount of pixels for each camera model you consider buying. Always keep in mind that the amount of pixels will usually determine what will be the quality of your pictures. The more pixels you have the greater the quality.

Another factor you should consider when you compare digital camera features is: What will you do with your camera. Is the camera you are looking at is for amateur photographer, semi-serious or serious photographers? Determining this will bring you one step further from buying the camera you need.

When you start to compare digital camera features you will soon be submerge by more info that you were actually looking for. They key is to look for the one you want instead of being overwhelmed by features you don’t need. Some of those feature apart form the pixel amount could be your picture options. Do you want your pictures to turn into sepia, black and white or soft pictures with the use of your filter?

One point I strongly suggest you look into when you compare digital camera features is the shooting modes you get with your camera. You should find indications about various features like the focusing or flash capabilities of various digital cameras. Whether it is Canon, Nikon, Olympus or any other brand of digital camera, make sure you don’t overlook this aspect.

Of course the information you will gather to help you compare digital camera features will mostly be of technical nature. Make sure you look at various sources of information. Another great place to look for information is to buy photography magazines. They will help you compare digital camera features that allow you to take picture with special effects.

These special effects could be special zoom capabilities that allow you to take pictures from a totally new angle or focus capabilities enabling you to crop some of the surrounding areas of you subject.

Of course if you want to take great picture (who doesn’t want to) it helps to have many different helpful features in your camera. Recently many of our customers have been asking what auto parts they need to fix their car, truck or SUV when it doesn’t start. The answer may not always be that you need to replace any auto parts at all. Although there may be many reasons for a vehicle that cause it to not start, some can be easily fix and others may require simple patience. Below are a few reasons that may cause your vehicle to not start.

The 3.8L Oldsmobile engine may have a no-start or stalling problem due to dirt, ice or snow. This engine is equipped with a Hall Effect crank sensor located on the lower part of the engine next to the harmonic balancer. When road dirt, ice or snow gets stuck they can either break the sensor or cause an interruption of the generated signal. When the sensor doesn’t send the correct signal to the computer it causes a stalling or no start problem.

The Volvo 240 might not start because of a clogged flame trap. The flame trap is the positive crankcase ventilation system that allows blow-by gases from the engine to be introduced into the intake system. This system vents the gas to prevent engine seal leaks and lowers emissions. Difficult starting can be accompanied by a MIL (check engine light) with an oxygen sensor code. The code is set to the clogged flame arrester problem. Check the flame trap screen for clogging and replace as necessary.

The 3.9-liter Dodge Dakota could experience hard starts due to a fuel injector problem. The problem is that the fuel injectors leak, causing extra fuel to be dumped into the cylinder. This contaminates the oil and empties the fuel rail. When the ignition key is turned on, the lack of fuel in the rail causes a hard start or extended cranking time. The fix for this problem is to replace the fuel injectors and seals and to change the oil. Observe caution when working with the fuel system, and follow all safety procedures.

Although in some cases new auto parts may be required to fix some vehicles that do not start, it is not one common part that causes this problem. Much of the analysis depends on the make of the vehicle.

Baby Sleep Solutions - Part 4 - Compromise

There are many “baby sleep solutions” out there. Some work, some don’t and many simply vary from child to child. Many methods are created out of last ditch efforts to make some “technique” work on your own terms. You compromise - and that can be the best technique of all.

Our “compromise” method came about when our oldest had a hard time getting to sleep. I think I even saw the method (or something like it) on Supernanny a couple of times too. (You can check out her book too — Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your Children by Jo Frost) Our daughter was on an established (but flexible!) schedule and would sleep through the night. Getting her to sleep was the hard part.

We knew she could do it on her own, but we didn’t want to make her cry it out to get there. So here’s what we did:

After you go through your normal bedtime routine, if your child is still fussy about going to bed, sit in the room. Don’t hold or rock or play with your child. Just sit there. You can read a book or do some quiet activity while you wait. Let them know you are there and that you’ll stay there if they settle down. We actually “negotiated” with our oldest when she was 18 months old. When she wouldn’t settle down, we’d tell her we were going to leave the room. We’d leave and come back a few minutes later. We’d tell her again. Usually she would settle down and we would stay.

Do not become a fixture in your child’s bedroom though! Be sure to gradually ease out of the room and do it more and more quickly. With my youngest, I started out sitting beside her crib. After a few minutes I’d move over by the door - letting her know that I was there. Then I’d move outside the door. Eventually she was either asleep or too tired to notice I was gone. We did this for 3 or 4 nights and then she didn’t need it anymore. My baby got to sleep and stayed asleep through the night on her own!

Be patient and don’t expect too much at first. Some children take to this really quickly, for others it may take a while. It took us a few weeks before my oldest daughter was ok without us in the room. Just stick with it - or with whatever method you choose - and make adjustments for your child and your family.

There are a lot of different methods for how to get your baby to sleep through the night. But remember — what works for one family, or even one child, will not work for all children. Talk to other parents, your pediatrician, read what you can or want to on the subject, but in the end — find what works best for you and know that it may never work again for anyone else! So try out a few different methods (be consistent with each one for a decent amount of time) and make modifications to suit your family and your child.

Here’s to you and your baby sleeping through the night!

The theme to your wedding should reflect your partners and your personalities. Incorporate your likes and character into your own personal day. Following are a few suggestions on how to begin. Remember these are just suggestions; let your imagination run wild and have fun. And if you need a little extra help with ideas and materials ask a wedding planner to guide you through it.

A themed wedding requires detailed planning

  1. Food- choose a menu that not only suits your theme but is also neutral t all guests. Be sure to take extraordinary and allergies into consideration.
  2. Location- Complete your guest list before choosing your location; this way you choose the right place to comfortably accommodate all your guests. Also will you be having and indoor or outdoor wedding? Take the time of year and weather into great consideration before making this decision.
  3. Decorations- very time consuming and a lot of hard work. Be sure to have plenty of help or hire a decorator. Either way all the work was well worth it and it compliments and reflects your theme.
  4. Wardrobe- Discussing it over with wedding party, friends and family gives you an outside look on every possibility to not only match your theme and colors but also gives you more to choose from.
  5. Favors- Making wedding favors at the reception that reflect your theme are not only perfect to accent the decorations but are excellent memorabilia for the guests to take home.

My favorite and of course the chosen theme for my wedding was the Fairytale Theme. Cinderella was always my favorite Disney and for one day I got to live it. This theme of course includes Prince Charming. If you want to experience the whole Fairytale include the horse and carriage with your centerpiece. Centerpieces can include the glass slippers, castle and horse in carriage that come in many different colors to match your color scheme. Serve food amongst dry ice to create a magical environment.

Flowers or no flowers says a lot about you and accents the theme. Choose colors that match your outfits and as well as your decor. Hearts are also another perfect touch to the decor. Nothing symbolizes love more than a heart. Make it colorful to brighten up your chosen location or make it a subtle touch in one color to add to your theme. It’s also a great idea as the shape of your cake. Balloons in any shape or color are also another beautiful yet inexpensive way to decorate your chosen location. Some suggestions are creating an arch over the dance floor or surrounding the main tables adds an elegant touch, fills empty spaces or covers unwanted items that cannot be removed from your chosen location. The possibilities are endless.

Of course these are just guidelines. Your wedding is all about the two of you. You two are the only ones that can create the perfect wedding day; so be creative and remember if you two like it than its perfect.

Natural Gas and Propane - What’s the Difference?

Communities outside the Twin Cities metro area do not always have the infrastructure that home owners in the city take for granted. In rural communities where homeowners live on and own acres of land, they may not have water or sewer systems to the home. The electrical, cable and gas utilities may not provide service to any or all homes in the area. Alternatively, homeowners will have private services where the public utilities do not exist. Homes on acreage will have private wells for water and septic systems for sewage. If the home does not have cable access, they can use a private satellite service. And if there is no natural gas line, they opt for propane.

As a Realtor in the north metro, I sell many homes on acreage in Anoka, Chisago and Washington Counties. Some of the larger properties do not have natural gas utilities available. When they see the big propane tank in the yard, the question arises:

What is the difference between Natural Gas and Propane?

The two gases are basically equal in performance in appliances. The differences lie in portability, compression, energy efficiency and cost.

**Propane Tank-The most obvious visible difference is that natural gas comes into the home from an underground pipe with a meter controlled by a utility service while propane will sit in a tank in your yard. Natural gas is billed monthly by the utility company as it is used. The propane tank’s refill is directed by the homeowner. The tanks come in different sizes and can be owned or rented from a propane provider.

**Propane provides More BTUs than Natural Gas-Heat is measured in British Thermal Units or BTUs. When an amount of propane provides 2500 BTUs, the same volume of natural gas would provide 1000 BTU’s.

**Natural Gas Burns Cleaner-Propane releases more pollutants into the air when burning due to different chemical properties.

**Propane is Heavier-Both gases will dissipate into the air and can pose the threat of an explosion if enough gas is released and ignited. Propane being heavier than air tends to collect at ground level and pose a greater risk of explosion. If a home has a basement with few windows, there is no way for the heavy gas to dissipate. Natural gas being lighter than air will rise and has the ability to dissipate with time and open windows. A leak of either natural gas or propane is very serious and immediate evacuation is the key.
