Planning On Going To Florida For The First Time?

As a first time visitor to Florida and the Disney land area there are many concerns that put families off planning their own trip meaning they opt for a ‘package trip’ with flights, hotel and theme park transport all included.

Not that there is anything wrong with a ‘package’ other than planning your own trip and staying in a villa has more flexibility and in most cases works out cheaper.

Having researched the top 3 concerns first time visitors have I have put this very simple guide together to ensure these concerns are eradicated before they begin.

1. Where do I pick my car up from?

Most car hire companies offer an airport pick up for your vehicle so ensure you select your car from one of these companies before you book it. If you are flying direct to Florida you can expect to be picking your car up approximately 2 hours after you land. This is due to having to go through immigration, customs and baggage collection at the airport you first land at, so order your car in accordance with this time frame.

If on the other hand your flight stops en-route in the US it will take you less time from landing at your final destination to car pick up due to the fact that you and your luggage will have been security checked and cleared at the first airport you land at. Therefore allow about 1 hour from landing at your final destination as a selected time to pick your car up.

2. Direction to your holiday villa.

It is a culture shock when driving in the US for the first time, but if you are an experienced driver you can make life so simple, and driving very enjoyable.

When you leave the airport there is always someone who checks your car out who will give you directions in quite a rushed manner, pass you an area map and believe you now know where you are going. So before you leave the UK ask the villa owner to send you a simple ‘idiots guide’ on leaving the airport to arriving at your destination.

Ask them to supply you with directions that include junction exit numbers to make it easier for you to follow.

Study it with your ‘co-pilot’ so you are both aware of where to go once you arrive and get a comparative direct guide from Google maps also. As you are probably aware all roads in the US travel north to south and east to west, and visa-versa. So if you do find yourself traveling in the wrong direction a 180 degree turn will put you back on track.

3. Will there be a villa there when we arrive?

I haven’t recently heard of any guests arriving at a villa that was rented out under false pretences, however I know this has happened to travelers in the past, where the villa doesn’t even exist or worse it is someone else’s villa.

There are a few simple rules you need to follow that would ensure the villa and owner are genuine. Firstly check that a villa owners web site has testimonials on it that can be verified (email address and phone numbers supplied). Choose a villa that has testimonials submitted from guests from different parts of the country and indeed other parts of the world. This will ensure the testimonials are genuine and give you a varied view on the villa amenities and location.

Contact these previous guests and ask them why they chose the villa and what advice they would give you to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Secondly choose a villa that will allow you to use PayPal as this is a secure method of payment as PayPal will verify all users for you. Pay the deposit by PayPal which will ensure that the owner is genuine. Some owners may not accept the final balance by using PayPal as there is a 4% charge for monies collected, alternatively some villa owners add this charge on to the final balance.

Don’t be too concerned if PayPal cannot be used for the final payment as long as the deposit is paid this way it will be a secure booking.

Planning your own trip will be fun for all the family and if you do your research as guided above you need not worry about was is nothing more than enjoying your time in Florida.

How to Waterproof Your Basement This Spring

Now that we have dug ourselves out of the snow, we can finally get started on those spring projects that need to done. I know doing chores is the last thing you want to do now that it’s finally warm out but hey these things need to be done. Sorry.

The first task you should undertake will be to waterproof your basement. The spring rains combined with melting snow increases the risk of your basement flooding. It’s not a hard job and won’t take very long either. You’ll be outside enjoying the warm springtime sun in no time.

In order for you to properly waterproof your basement you will need to do all of the following steps:

Stopping Leaks and Seepage

Repairing Holes and Cracks Before Waterproofing

o-You may need to position a weep pipe through the wall to permit the outside water trapped against the wall under pressure to escape.

o-Use regular patching mortar to fill the crack, starting at the top and working toward the bottom. This permits a more secure bonding of the new mortar.

o-Using a pointing trowel, completely fill the crack with mortar to where the weep pipe is installed and let the mortar set until it is completely dry. If water entering through the weep pipe has slowed to a trickle, you can probably remove the pipe, fill the hole and eliminate the problem. If water is still coming through the pipe with considerable force, leave the weep pipe in place and run the water into a sewer drain with a hose.

o-Treat the cracked area right down to the spot where the wall and the floor come together. Next, make a cement plug from the mortar mix.

o-Roll a plug and place the small end of the cone in the hole where the pipe was removed and pack it into place.

o-Hold the cement plug in place with your fingers for three-to-five minutes, allowing for time to set. You can also place a heavy object over the plug during this three to five minute period to give it plenty of time to dry before it is exposed to the full water pressure.

o-After this, you can stop holding the plug in place. The mortar plug should be dried sufficiently to close off the hole and prevent outside water from entering.

Closing Cracks and Holes When Water is Entering Under Pressure

Waterproofing the Wall and Floor After Making Patching and Repairs

o-First, moisten the wall with a fine spray before applying the waterproofing mix. Try a garden hose with the nozzle set to a fine spray. Although, you would like the walls to be damp when you apply the waterproof mix, no water should be left on the wall surface.

o-You can buy epoxy or latex waterproof mixes for treating basement walls and floors. Most of these mixes require you to add only water, just be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. It is also important to remember that no epoxy or latex waterproof coatings will bond to wet surfaces. Apply these materials to a completely dry surface.

o-You could also make your own wall coating mixture of plain cement and water. The mix should form a mixture with the consistency of cream.

o-Using a stiff brush, make a circular motion to rub the waterproof mix into the wall and fill every pore in the wall.

o-First, apply the coating at the bottom of the wall. This is where the water pressure is likely to be greatest.

o-Now brush the waterproofing mix to the top, and move back to the bottom, slowly applying additional layers of the mixture.

o-Brush the waterproofing mix only over the areas where leakage is a problem. Feather the mix out at the edges until you have completely covered the area where the leakage occurred.

o-When the coating has dried so that it does not come off, spray the area completely with water. Soak it thoroughly and let it set overnight.

o-After the wall has dried, wet it down thoroughly with a garden hose and apply a second coat of the waterproofing mixture. Use the same techniques for brushing on the second coat as you did for the first coat.

o-Always use two coats in all cases. One coat simply will not correct the problem under normal conditions.

Would You Rather Create Money or Attract Money?

When you think of manifesting more money in your life do you ever consider the difference between creating as apposed to attracting more money? What’s the difference? You are probably asking assuming that all that matters is that you have the money in the end. I am here to say that there is a difference and I will tell you exactly why.

Words have such power to lead the mind. Even when we are not consciously aware of their effect on us they are subconsciously programming our thoughts and the action we will take. Stop reading this article for ten seconds and think of one way you can attract some more money.

Did you do it? Did you stop and think of attracting money? What came into you mind? Did you think of all the many opportunities that are available to you? Did you think of winning the lottery or perhaps someone giving you more money in a surprise check? Maybe you had some other clever way of attracting more money to you, all of which I am sure is quite good and enjoyable but here is the point of focus that you may have over looked.

When most people think of attracting their point of focus is on what is outside of themselves. If you want to attract a job, you are probably thinking of all the jobs you saw advertised. You want more money and you begin to think about what is happening in the market, what is going on with the economy and so on and so forth. So much emphasis is placed on the conditions outside of yourself and you are hopeful that within those conditions what you desire will be attracted to you and find its way to you. All this is good but what happens when you think of creating?

Now I ask you to take a minute to think of creating more money. If you truly took the time to observe your thoughts you may realize that the point of focus was on yourself. You possibly had thoughts such as, “What can I do to make more money?” That point of focus is exactly where you want to be. Recognizing yourself as a conscious creator of the things you want places the power with you.

That tiny switch of words generates a different feeling and that feeling influences your point of power. Attracting puts the power outside of yourself while creating puts the power within you. As one who creates more money you are allowing your inner mind to generate ideas and conditions to allow the flow of money into your life. You are not allowing external conditions to determine what you can and will have.

That is the most important lesson in manifesting what you want. External conditions do not determine what you can have. The only thing that determines what you can have is YOU. You are always the creator of your conditions. As well you should always choose what it is you would like to experience and choose not from what is already there but choose from that abundant unseen world where there are no limits to what you can have.

What you create will take form. You can learn to understand the workings of the inner mind and exactly how to influence it and how to allow it to generate the ideal circumstances for money to flow into your life.

I know someone whose knowledge of creating money out of nothing is just phenonomal.

Internet Advertising Cost

A question I get a lot is “What does it cost for Internet advertising?” I’m almost tempted to tell people, whatever they want to spend. But I realize that there are those of us new to this game who don’t really know what the various costs of advertising on the Internet can be. While this article is no way all inclusive, as there are just too many ways to advertise online, it should give you a good head start to Internet advertising costs for the most common forms of advertising.

Since most people are really looking for free sources of advertising, let me start off with those first.

If you are looking for advertising avenues that won’t cost you anything and still bring you some results, your best bet is to go with article marketing. Article marketing, in theory, is very simple. You write articles that pertain to your target market and product, submit them to article directories and bring traffic to your site through the link in the article that you’ll include in your author bio. This method is very effective if done right and as I said, it doesn’t cost you a thing. The only drawback is that this form of advertising is relatively slow to bring results.

If you’re looking to actually spend some money and get results a little faster, one of the most cost effective ways is to host your own FFA site. You can do this for as little as $10 a month. What hosting an FFA site does is it allows you to send out your daily advertising message to people who post their own ads to your site. This is a great way to reach other people who are involved in Internet marketing. This is a very cost effective way of advertising as you can host about 10 sites a month for under $200.

If you’re looking to spend a little more money and get the most targeted traffic that you can get online, your best bet is to go with Google Adwords. In a nutshell, Adwords is a system of advertising where you put up a 3 line ad based on certain keywords that you want to target and pay for this ad only if a person clicks on it and goes to your site. The amount you pay per click will depend on how targeted the keyword is and the competition for that keyword. For the most part, the most expensive keywords, per click, are those for make money online opportunities.

As I said, this list is by no means complete. If you’re interested in learning more about Internet advertising, there is a resource in my signature that includes every form of popular advertising on the Internet. You’ll find it quite a good read.

Planning The Perfect Go Diego Go Birthday Party

Baby Animal Rescue Adventure

Divide your party guests into groups of 2 or 3 Search and Rescue Teams, and have each team go searching for a baby animal who has gotten himself into trouble! Gather enough of your child’s stuffed animals to create 2-3 rescue missions per team. Hide these stuffies in different locations in your home (or outside if weather permits). Print out clues to help your little Diego’s find the stuffies.

For example: Hide Baby Jaguar in the bathtub. Your clue could be: “Baby Jaguar has gotten into trouble again. He was playing by the river bank and fell into the water! The current took him out into the river and he is now stuck holding on to a river branch. The water is rising quickly and he needs your help now!”

Another example: Hide Baby Tiger in one of your potted plants (or in a bush outside). Your clue could be: “Baby Jaguar has gone off to play in the Jungle. He was playing tag with his lemur friend and chased him up the tree. But Baby Jaguar got too high up and got scared, now he’s afraid to come down and needs your help!”

Go Diego Go Obstacle Course

Put together an obstacle course for your party guests and have them run through it. You can create two identical courses and have two teams run it in a race against each other or just have them run the same course and time each team.

Use items that you find around the house such as:

Hula Hoops - they can hula with them, they can roll them along the floor/grass to get from one station to the next.

Skipping Ropes - they can use them to skip with, they can be set up so the guests have to jump over them (pretend the skipping rope is a river, and the guest is not allowed to touch the rope as they jump over it).

Extension Ladders (straight, not a-frame) - lay these on the ground and have the kids either climb along them hands and feet along the rungs, or they can gently step in between the rungs.

Frisbees - have the kids toss the Frisbees into a circle (use your hula hoop, or make a circle with the skipping rope or garden hose.

Sports Balls - have the kids play kick the ball for distance or accuracy by having them aim at a predetermined target.

Get creative and use the many objects you have in your own home! Ask your birthday boy or girl for their input on how they would like the obstacle course to be designed. It is a great way to get them involved in the planning and you may even be surprised by some of the creative ideas that they come up with! Take advantage of this one on one time to create a special birthday planning memory with you and your child.

Call Of The Wild

Before the party begins, write the names of various animals on cue cards. You will need one cue card for each guest and two extras for good measure. One by one have each guest come up and draw one of the cards out of a bag.

Each child takes a turn trying to imitate the jungle animal they have chosen … what sounds does that animal make? How do they walk?

After the children have each taken a turn, have them all stand up and form a jungle parade line. March them in to the eating area as they all imitate their favourite animal … get ready, it may be a little noisy!

Go Diego Go Party Food Ideas

When you are planning a menu for a birthday party, it is always good to keep your target audience in mind. Kids usually have picky appetites at parties and, with energy levels running high, it is unlikely that they will sit still for a lengthy meal. Look for finger foods that are easy to prepare and simple to serve.

Here are some of our favourites:

Jungle Fruit Kabobs
Animal Crackers (of course!)
Safari So Good Fruit Punch
Slippery Snakes Pasta
Mini Pizza Bites
Chicken Fingers

Go Diego Go Loot Bags

When everything is said and done and your party guests are getting ready to leave, In Favour loot bags are the perfect ending to a jungle safari adventure! Our Diego loot bags are new to the In Favour collection and are filled with great jungle treats and Diego merchandise. Give us a call and we would be happy to create a custom bag for your celebration!

Wishing you a fantastic Diego Jungle Adventure Party!

Wine Terms You Should Know

If you’re new to the world of wine, you’ve probably come across terms that you haven’t heard before. Don’t be put off by foreign sounding words. Wine, like all subjects, has its own vocabulary. Here are some common terms that you should know:

Acidity

Sometimes called the sour factor, acidity refers to the tartness that is a result of the citric, malic, or lactic acid of the grapes. The acidity also acts as a preservative.

Appellation

A geographic region where a wine’s grapes are grown and made into wine.

Aroma

The smell of the wine, especially during the first year, as opposed to the bouquet which develops later during the aging and fermenting process. The aroma can be fruity, smoky, floral, etc.

Decant

Aerating the wine by pouring it into another decanter. This also removes any sediment from the wine.

Fining

Fining refers to the filtration process in wine making. Wine goes through a clarification and filtration process in order to remove unwanted material.

Sommelier

Sommelier is a wine expert. Sommeliers have extensive training and maintain wine collections at fine restaurants. Sommeliers will help you pair your meal with the perfect wine.

Terroir

The characteristics of a particular growing region–it’s soil, water, and climate that determine the quality of the grapes and resulting wine. You could say terroir is the micro climate the varietals grow in, and each vineyard owner tries to improve the ecosystem.

Varietal

A type of wine. A wine takes its name from the grape it was made from. As an example Zinfandel and Riesling are varietals.

Viticulture

The agricultural science of growing grapes for the purpose of making wine.

Okay, that’s enough for now. With these under your belt you can start exploring wine and wineries with a little confidence and feel like a seasoned veteran!

You Can Learn The Language Of The Inner Mind

Few people will ever understand the language of the inner mind. The inner mind is always communicating with us, guiding us, pushing us, alerting us to danger. Every possible question or need that you have can be solved if you know just how to listen in and understand the messages.

When Psychics have the desire to gain knowledge on a particular thing, they understand how to acquire that knowledge by taping into the mind for answers. When we go off to sleep and receive dream impressions we are also tapping into the inner mind. The inner mind may be the most sacred and precious tool but its worthless to us if we don’t make the effort to use it to enhance our lives.

Could you ever imagine going to live in a foreign country for several years without ever making the effort to learn the language? It may seem like an odd thing to do but people have done it. I know of several people who have lived many years in a new country and made little effort to learn the language. It just so happens that one of these persons came to the United States at a more mature age and made not one effort to speak English.

Perhaps this person was afraid that the language was too difficult to learn so why bother? I wonder if she ever realized just how much she was missing out on. Maybe she never realized that she was shutting herself off from meeting incredible people or even incredible experiences. If it seems like an odd situation to you I can say that it is as odd as never learning the language of your own inner self.

There is a world that is being missed, when you ignore communication with your inner self. The mind is a like an entire kingdom filled with every answer and every guide to every possible need. Half of our problems need not be as difficult if we learned that inner language.

Many of the trials that you experience in life are born out of your inability to listen to the guidance and if you do sense that something is amiss you may still not know just what it is.

Here are three simple ways to begin communicating with you inner self.

1)-Become still and listen to your heart beat. Listen attentively until the sound becomes louder and louder. Play with the sound in your mind making it grow louder and louder as if it’s the only sound in the world.
2)-Then ask a question. DO not try to find the answer instead return to the sound of your heart. Become aware of any new thought that comes into you mind. Write down whatever comes into the mind as brief notes then return to listening.
3)-When you are satisfied with the answers that present themselves review what you have noted. Look to see how it applies to what you were asking.

The mind is powerful, and it can be used to get access to any question that you ask. Although the exercise seems simple the true power of it, is the daily practice. Try to do this daily, several times a day at best. You will find that things which seemed impossible to know will fall into your mind easily. As well you ability to understand and hear the messages will become stronger and easier.

What can you use the mind for? To gain answers on the next step to take, choosing the right partner, making money…. The list goes on.

I know someone who is a great instructer of the inner wispers of the mind. He teaches the intuitive nature of mind and money. To learn more visit:http://www.cosmic-wealth.com

Product Launching – How to Launch Your Product

A product launch on the Internet is slightly different than one offline. The most basic choice is whether you want any partners and if so how many. Whatever the case might be the product launch has to yield what you expect of it. Here are some steps that will help you launch your product successfully.

First, set a launch date and make sure you keep it. If it seems too close then set it back by as much as required so you can get everything done in time but do not set it too close and then get caught unprepared. Once the date is set you need to contact all your existing customers, prospects, and leads to inform them that the new product is coming soon. Email them several times, but do not spam, reminding that of the approaching date and also include features to keep them excited about it.
Have your sales page ready to accept the new traffic. Create an autoresponder feature in this page so visitors can subscribe to the list and stay informed of new developments before the launch. Creating such a list is one of the most effective ways of expanding your customer base.

Your sales page must be responsive so that on the day of the launch it changes from autoresponder to a page with order and payment options. Test all aspects of the sales page thoroughly because any errors at this point will destroy your credibility. The launch itself is the most critical aspect so your website must be working perfectly at that time.

Giving The Wedding Toasts

A memorable event in the life of a newly-married couple is the reception that immediately comes after the ceremony. Partaking of the good food that is served courtesy of the couple is something to look forward to since wedding toasts are likely to be given during this time. Toasts are made to add fuel to the already celebratory mood felt by the bride and groom and the attendees of this special occasion.

The wedding toast is normally initiated by the father of the bride. As to the proper time of making a toast, this would depend on the nature of the reception, whether it is a formal or informal affair.

If the affair is formal, then there is also a need to consider the cutting of the wedding cake. According to custom, if the wedding cake to be cut is the one to be served on the guests for dessert, the wedding toasts can start after the couple cut the cake. If the cake to be cut is not the same cake that will be served, then right after the main course, the toast can then be made.

If the affair is informal or for weddings celebrated in the afternoons, then the wedding toast usually follows the first dance of the bride and groom as married couples.

Naturally, families and friend of the newly-weds would be excited to want to toast during the reception. The most often observed order of toasting is as follows - the father of the bride to offer his toast to the couple; then the best man offering his toast to the bride following the maid of honor toasting the groom. During the wedding toasts, the newly-weds should remember to just listen and smile at the person making the toasts. They are not allowed to offer a toast to themselves. However, what they can do is to give a return toast. The bride and groom can offer a toast to their parents and guests as their way of showing their appreciation in their participation in the wedding celebration.

The rule of thumb to be observed while doing wedding toasts is to keep it brief. The person making the toast should not take too much time in relaying his message. Certainly, you do not want to bore the bride and groom as well as the other guests with such a long speech. For the best man, it is advised that he does not drink too much prior to the toast. A drunken best man could result to an embarrassing toast. The best wedding toast can be rendered in a matter of 2 to 3 minutes. For the returned toast made by the bride or the groom or both, it should even be shorter than this.

Be complimentary and sincere when making a toast. After all, this celebration is dedicated to the bride and groom so be generous with your compliments. Look them into the eye so that they know that you mean what you say. To make sure that things go well, try practicing your wedding toast before the actual wedding day.

Facts on Home Security Cameras

Security cameras have been around for a long time, gaining their reputation
and popularity with businesses. As years went by and they became more
affordable people began to use them in their homes. A security camera at
home can be a great way to protect your home and family, keep an eye on the
babysitter, or just monitor things while you are away.

Statistics have shown that the number of robberies that occur in homes are
rising steadily in the past years.

If you are interested in protecting your home with a surveillance system, you
should first grasp the concepts of the technology, what it can and what it
cannot do for your safety.

A home security camera is basically part of an entire home security system.
Surveillance cameras are rarely used as standalone devices.

Normally they are connected to some type of alarm and used in conjunction
with motion sensors. These motion sensors register movements from the
images transmitted by the camera and could then trigger either an alarm or a
recording of the imagery or both.

The primary purpose of a home security camera is there to alert anyone
visually if an unwanted intruder is within the house. They do not provide a
sufficient level of security if used alone. They always should be used along
with home alarm systems. What good does a camera do if nobody is acting on
the image captured?

Another - often neglected - function of surveillance cameras for homes is that
they have proven to have a deterrent effect of any potential intruders. A
potential intruder will think twice if it is really worth attempting to break into
your house while he is likely to be observed by a camera and the footage
probably recorded.

Most intruders already have a criminal record and their pictures are on file with
the authorities. So any video footage of them will get them into much bigger
trouble that a first-time opportunity burglar. That first-timer however would
never choose a home that seems to have sophisticated security equipment
installed. Remember, if your camera never records any suspicious activity it
still might have saved you without you knowing it - solely due to the deterring
effect a camera has for intruders.

It is quite obvious that cameras that are low-priced could probably do the job
you want it to do for a couple of days or so. However, when the time comes
that this camera is to be used during the night, they are un-helpful.

A good home outdoor security camera must also be effective during the night.
There are actually home outdoor security camera brands that are on the
market and are effective and inexpensive.

Once in a while you will hear comments that the only things cameras will do is
attract criminals. The reasoning behind this can is understandable: If people
spot a security camera they tend to think there must be something valuable if
the owners install a camera. However, the reasoning of a burglar is quite
different. Criminals will weigh the risk against the potential return. While a
camera may hint that there is something valuable to get the risk level for the
intruder is raised substantially by an overt security camera.

Please be aware that the use of video surveillance on unsuspecting
individuals such as house workers or visitors may not be legal in all states or
countries. This is particularly crucial if a security camera installed on your
property partly covers - or could cover a public area - such as the sidewalk in
front of your house. So please be sure to check with your local authorities.

All in all, security cameras are a welcome addition to your overall home
security concept. They provide you with sufficient protection to make you
sleep soundly at night or during the day.
