Well, why not? Maybe you think you have the best looking blog going, and if you took a lot of time putting it together, you’re probably motivated enough to post to it every day, too. So, where is everybody?

You could be going about it the wrong way. These few tips may help:

Give People What They Want to Read About

You don’t need to be the greatest writer in the world to have a great blog. What do people want when searching? They want information or they want to be entertained, right? That’s what you need to write, and hopefully, if you have the talent, a little of both. People really only care that what you write is readable and that it’s as truthful as possible. They want to feel as if it came from your heart. That’s what you need to give them! The best blogs are written by people who really and truly care about their topics. It just shows.

But if you really and truly stink at writing, or maybe English isn’t your first language and you have trouble writing. Then, you can still have a great blog. Search the Internet for interesting things, and when you find them post them to your blog in pictures, podcasts, videos, etc. Then, just write a blurb around it to introduce it or whatever, and people will enjoy it. I mean, look at a blog like Boing Boing (http://boingboing.net) and you’ll see what I mean.

Remember… Your Readers Are People

In the past, online marketers took that whole keyword density issue to its limit. They took their main keyword and just plugged it in as many times as they could to get ranking with the search engines. Guess what? It worked. Guess what? It doesn’t any more. Why? Because search engines want their results to be people-oriented. They want people who click on their results to get good information, not unreadable drivel written by attention-hungry idiots who don’t have a clue about how to care for the people who read what they have written. Always write with your audience in mind.

Find a Purpose

Do you think I give a hoot about what you had for breakfast this morning? No, and neither will anyone else, unless they’re in the breakfast cereal business. If you only want people from that industry to read your blog, then that’s something to post. Otherwise, it’s just boring drivel. Write what you’re passionate about. If it’s driving, write a blog about cars. If it’s snowboarding, write a blog about snowboards, and really let your emotion show. People come to your blog looking for something to do or something to learn. If you give them neither one, they’ll probably never read your blog again.

Spill Some Guts

Yep. When you’re blogging it’s important to tell people a little bit about yourself. They want to know you through your blog, and if you give them some personal information, it will be very well received. Tell them about that time you went fishing on Lake Erie and it was a complete fiasco, or that time you won the lottery and couldn’t find the ticket, or whatever. Just be sure to let them know you, even if only a little. It makes you human, someone that people can relate to and hopefully enjoy.

Stop Trying to Sell Things

If you read my blog, it’s no doubt that you’re an Internet Marketer, too. But if I can give you one good piece of advice here, it’s that you shouldn’t be posting with the idea of making a sale–ever. If you read my blog often, you know that I rarely post any kind of sales pitch. I have a blog because I want to give people information to help them succeed online as I’ve been lucky enough to do myself. Sure, I have links to my products on the side of my blog, and usually, I have a bit of anchor text at the end of every post that leads to one of my products, but overall, I’m just trying to provide information about something I’m very passionate about. When you post nothing but sales pitches, you won’t have many readers.

I hope these few tips will be of value to you. Your readers are people, not nebulous electrons in cyberspace. they want to learn and they want to be entertained. If you can do both, you’ll have readers lined up. Avoid the easy traps that will limit your progress. Come up with a blog that people will enjoy and you’ll have traffic enough for a lifetime.

Email Marketing – Easy Tips for Email Marketing

Getting Started

You must obtain a number of email subjects, literally hundreds of them. Each e-mail address represents the potential for attracting customers who will purchase your product. The focus should be on captivating email subjects capable of holding people’s attention. Communicating with your list about something of interest to them will accomplish this. One good way to communicate with your email list is to use an autoresponder.

Secondly, you will need an email list manager to deal with the mailing lists, containing thousands of addresses, which would be impossible to manage manually. Also, it would be a complete waste of time mailing to addresses which do not exist.

Thirdly, getting hold of an email verifying programme is of the utmost importance.

Lastly, you should have a very large list of email addresses if you want to make money with bulk email marketing.

There are a number of ways to obtain access to the mail addresses and these include, among many others, opt-in forms, newsletters or free gifts or a free email course (to attract customers to your web site), etc. These are quite commonly used and it is for you to decide which will the best option to suit your needs. Another option is of course buying a list. However, it must be remembered that such lists will not be product specific and therefore, not tailor-made to suit your particular needs.

A Word of Caution

You must be careful not to swap lists with others or you maybe accused of spamming.

You may be suffering from the devastating symptoms of fibromyalgia such as pain, fatigue, depression, brain fog, and others. You may not know where to turn for help. Is there an answer to this awful condition? You may be wondering if there is a fibromyalgia diet that works. You may be frustrated that doctor’s don’t have many answers for you. Well, changing your diet can help.

Doctor’s are having a hard time diagnosing you and treating your symptoms. You may feel crazy, like no one understands how you are feeling and what you are going through. Doctor’s may not know how to treat you, but there is help. You are not crazy! There’s a secret out there in the medical community that can help your Fibromyalgia symptoms get better. Many studies have been done to show that changing your diet can help you alleviate the severity of your symptoms.

A magic diet? No, there is no such thing. But there are some things that research is validating when it comes to your diet and fibromyalgia. Listen to your body. Everyone’s metabolism is unique and so is everyone’s diet. There are some dietary changes that you can make to help aid your body in healing and feeling better. Get rid of the white processed foods that are packed with refined sugars. Also, cut down on fatty foods. Eat more fruits and veggies. Does this sound familiar? Isn’t what our parents have been telling us for years? Well, the hard part is following through on these suggestions. Fruits and veggies can have amazing benefits for Fibromyalgia sufferers. Fruits and veggies are good sources of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and other good nutrients. Eating these has many advantages.

Take the carrot, for instance. It is packed with Beta-carotene which is an antioxidant full of nutritional benefit. Beta Carotene can also be found in apricots, broccoli, kale, spinach, and squash. Another great antioxidant is Vitamin C. We know where some of the major sources of Vitamin C are found: tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, tangelos, etc. But did you know that there is a whole bunch of Vitamin C hanging out in green stuff as well? Sources such as broccoli, kiwi, green peppers, green leafy veggies and more. These antioxidants are essential to your good health and fight against fibromyalgia.

Most people eat less than half of the amount of fruits and veggies they should in a day. The Food Guide Pyramid recommends 5-9 servings each day. I think we should tend to lean on the 9 a day. I know this sounds like a lot but the benefits are so worth it. Try and eat fresh fruit and vegetables and only go to canned or frozen in off-seasons or when there isn’t fresh available.

Other diet tips for fibromyalgia sufferers include; drink more water. Help your body flush the toxins out and to eliminate waste. This can drastically help your intestinal problems that you may be experiencing with your fibromyalgia. More protein and less carbs help just about every body type whether you have fibromyalgia or not. It helps fight the fatigue as well. Stay away from caffeine. Caffeine can make your bad gut worse and make your symptoms of IBS and fibromyalgia worse.

Like I said earlier, there isn’t a magic diet that is going to cure you overnight but with some discipline and attention to your diet you can succeed in ridding yourself of the pain and fatigue associated with this terrible condition. You can feel better and completely eliminate fibromyalgia symptoms, there is hope. These tips can make a difference in your life and help you on your way to an energetic joyful life.

Skin doesn’t become dry because it lacks oil, but because it lacks moisture. Only a lucky few of us have ‘normal’ skin; the rest of us have dry, oily or combination skin; if dryness is your skin problem, read on.

Skin is one of the most important parts of the body; it’s our largest organ. The dermis is structurally divided into two areas: a superficial area adjacent to the epidermis, called the papillary region, and a deep thicker area known as the reticular region. Our skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity than the other organs in our body.

Serious skin complications, including a dry skin condition, can arise for people with type 2 diabetes. If you break out on the skin around your eyes, it could be the shellac in your mascara; buy a shellac-free mascara like Ecco Bella’s. Skin gets exposed to the elements, especially in winter, causing it to become drier.

Environmental factors, such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps, can cause dry skin. Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it’s not common. The symptoms most associated with dry skin are: scaling, which is the visible peeling of the outer skin layer, itching, and cracks in the skin.

The next time you want to have a snack, instead of junk food, help your skin - have an apple, orange, peach, pear, banana, plum, grapes, cherries, berries, cantaloupe or any other fresh fruit. Eat at least two organic apples a day while working to clear up your skin; apples are good for skin health - organic so you can eat pesticide-free skin (most of the apple pectin is in the skin), which helps with constipation too. Consider taking cod liver oil or fish oil supplements, in liquid form, every day.

If you use moisturizers, use the thick, oily-type which work better for dry skin. Avoid all products that have an alcohol base. Use bath oils and moisturizers, or better yet, coconut oil, daily.

Use coconut oil to remove your make-up at night, like I do; it leaves a fine layer of oil to nourish your skin all night long; but better yet, apply more coconut oil. Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it’s edible, so it’s safe and so healing to the lips. Use can use bath oils and moisturizers every day, but coconut oil has the added power of healing.

Coconut oil is very inexpensive - a great, cheap home remedy for all skin conditions. To see what coconut oil can do for your skin fast, apply coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime.

The skin must be regularly cleaned or it’ll become cracked or inflamed. The skin supports its own ecosystem of microorganisms, including yeasts and bacteria, which cannot be removed by any amount of cleaning.

Following some of the above treatments, your dry skin should be well on its way to recovery. Call your doctor or naturopath when your skin feels itchy all over your body, with or without a visible rash. See your doctor or naturopathic doctor if your skin doesn’t improve in spite of your best efforts.

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Natural treatments for dry skin are the best choice today rather than harsh chemical treatments.

The dermis is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis that consists of connective tissue and cushions the body from stress and strain. Our skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity than the other organs in our body. Skin contains hair follicles, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, apocrine glands and blood vessels.

Forced-air furnaces may make skin even drier than it already is. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins can also contribute to dry skin or result in a chronic dry skin condition that’s not relieved by anything else. Dry skin can also be a sign of an underactive thyroid.

Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it’s not common. Dry skin happens more often in the winter when the cold air outside and the heated air inside cause low humidity. When the skin loses moisture it may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed.

Eat an avocado every day; put it in your salad or mash it up and eat it with a spoon. Get 20-30 minutes of sunshine daily on your arms and/or legs; sunshine triggers the body’s production of Vitamin D3, which is essential to having healthy skin. When the skin is dry and dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne, zits, blemishes, or other breakouts; drink plenty of pure water.

Try using a humidifier if the air is dry and you have a severe skin condition. Cosmetics should be used carefully because they may dry out the skin or cause allergic reactions like contact dermatitis; read the labels. For any skin condition, it’s always better to take a natural approach.

Dry skin contributes to fine lines and wrinkles; coconut oil helps prevent the onset by keeping the skin soft and supple. To see what coconut oil can do for your skin fast, apply coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime. If you have acne, eczema or any type of dermatitis coconut oil will treat and quickly heal these skin conditions too.

After a soothing bath or shower at night just before bedtime, apply a thin layer of coconut oil over your entire body; it’ll even last on your skin through your shower in the morning. Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it’s edible, so it’s safe and so healing to the lips.

The skin must be regularly cleaned or it’ll become cracked or inflamed. Many skin conditions can be converted into clear, healthy skin by using cheap natural home remedies.

It’s time to call your doctor for an appointment when all your home remedies do not relieve your dryness and itching. See your doctor or naturopathic doctor if your skin doesn’t improve in spite of your best efforts. You should see the results with improved skin within a few days following these dry skin tips and suggestions.

Ginger root is an herb that has been used in a variety of ways as a healing agent for over 2000 years. It is thought to have medicinal properties that can be helpful to those suffering from a myriad of ailments, including arthritis, nausea, motion sickness, headaches, and perhaps even types of heart disease. In the United States the use of herbs as medicine is still considered as alternative, but in places such as China, the Caribbean, India, parts of Africa and Europe ginger is widely accepted as a healing herb.

The history of ginger is quite fascinating. The Sanskrit name for ginger is srngaveram, which translates to “horn root”. This is believed to be because of the appearance of the ginger root, which does bear a resemblance to an animal’s horn. At some point in history ginger disappeared, but it is thought that Marco Polo brought it back with him after his extensive travels and it then became a delicacy in Europe. Most of the supply of ginger comes from Jamaica, India, Africa, and China. Ginger grows in the wild in Jamaica and other islands of the Caribbean because the tropical climate offers the best growing conditions. Ginger in the wild produces flowers when the herb is at its most ripe stage. Queen Elizabeth I loved the taste of ginger and encouraged her cooks to experiment with it. The gingerbread man is said to have been the direct outcome of this experimentation.

Ginger has been used most commonly to treat gastrointestinal maladies such as nausea, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, uncontrollable vomiting, heartburn, intestinal gas resulting in excess flatulence, and colitis. Many believe that ginger can help with these ailments because it contains properties thought to strengthen the muscle tone in the intestinal tract.

Herbalists use ginger extract to decrease inflammation, which is a leading cause of many ailments including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, dermatitis, and ulcerative colitis. Studies are not at all conclusive, but many people prefer to use a natural remedy instead of taking ibuprofen or other traditional medication.

Use of ginger to treat motion sickness appears to be at least somewhat effective but more studies need to be conducted and analyzed. As far as heart disease is concerned, it is unclear whether or not ginger can be used successfully to lower cholesterol. It is simply to early to make an intelligent comment on this type of medicinal use of the herb.

Ginger appears as a knotted root with an underground stem known as a rhizome. It consists of volatile oils (somewhere between 1 and 4%), as well as pungent compounds known as gingerol and shogaol. It is these compounds that are thought to be responsible for the healing properties of ginger for nausea and vomiting.

You can find ginger in the produce department as a fresh or dried root. Ginger is also available as a powdered extract, in capsule form, or as an oil. You can use ginger to prepare a tea or use it as a cooking spice to prepare breads, cookies, or as an ingredient in vegetable dishes.

It is always wise to do your own research and talk to your physician before supplanting ginger, or any other spice or herb, with prescribed medications. Many health food stores have herbalists on staff that can also answer any additional questions you may have. As with all things in your life, moderation is the best choice. But when choosing spices that may also be medicinal, try using ginger as a healthy, natural alternative.

What is Clinical Depression?

Clinical depression is quite a common condition and affects around 16% of the population at least one time in their lives, and it is described it as a situation that has got to the point of disruption to an individual’s social life and/or their daily duties such as work and home life.

Clinical depression is found more in some Western countries like Australia where one in four women and one in six men will be found to suffer from it. It has been found that clinical depression is the main cause of disability in the US and the World Health Organization tell us that it is expected to become the secondary leading cause of disability in the world by 2020 after heart disease.

Clinical depression symptoms are varied and often include feelings and emotions that can be found in people without depression. Due to this health practitioners have to determine a proper diagnosis by applying a number of symptomatic criteria as suggested in the DSM-IV-TR or ICD-9/ICD-10.

The DSM-IV-TR criteria tells us for accurately diagnosing clinical depression, a person may be diagnosed as clinically depressed if he/she exhibits one of the following two elements for a period of two weeks or more:

A depressed mood or being unable to find pleasure from usually pleasurable events (otherwise known as Anhedonia).

Combining any of the two elements above with any five of the list of other symptoms experienced over the same two-week period is sufficient to diagnose clinical depression in a person:

* Being overwhelmed by feelings of sadness or fear

* Or inability to feel emotion (feeling empty)

* Finding less pleasure or interest in all, or almost all activities, even activities that they used to find pleasure in

* A changing of appetite and a noticeable affect either up or down in weight.

* Disruptive sleep patterns, which may cause insomnia, loss of REM sleep, or excessive sleep otherwise known as hypersomnia.

* Agitation affecting the psychomotor functions, or retardation

* Feeling drained, a mental or physical loss of energy.

* Feelings of guilt, helplessness, despair, anxiety or fear

* Trouble concentration or making decisions

* Slowing of cognition, including memory

* Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide including trying to kill oneself

A person can be diagnosed with clinical depression despite the fact that they do all of the criteria. As well as, the debate over the relative importance of genetic or environmental factors, or gross brain problems as against psychosocial functioning, is still currently ongoing.

Treating clinical depression may be different for each individual and that is important to remember. In fact, there are as many methods used to treat clinical depression as there are symptoms. Never the less, the two main methods used when treating the condition are usually medication and psychotherapy. In the event that medication fails, it is possible that a third treatment known as ECT or electroconvulsive therapy may be tried.

Zen has many meanings and of course the one that comes first to mind is the philosophy of Buddhism. And it is a valid and useful philosophy for many.

Over the centuries, the term “Zen” has come to mean many things and has even crept its way
into mainstream society as sort of a jargon for “enlightenment”.

In fact Webster explains it as: To figure out something by meditation or by a sudden flash of enlightenment. Originally applied to bugs, but occasionally applied to problems of life in general. “How’d you figure out the buffer allocation problem?” “Oh, I zenned it.”

I was raised in a middle class family and in my adulthood decided to become a “writer and
observer”. Yes, I make a living too, selling my wares on the Internet (not a lot of demand for
philosophical writers in the mainstream marketplace”.

My girlfriend was raised in a regular middle-class family where, though comfortable, money was not always available “on a whim”. This happens a lot and many relationship counselors truly believe it is one of relationship’s biggest challenges; that is, the philosophy of money. My girlfriend and I laugh at that. She is now a high-paid attorney and I hustle for dollars making sure my orders go out and
such.

So what does all this have to do with zen, and/or, bargain hunting?

One day, while filling my store inventory I remembered how I like to shop. For bargains. And every time I found one that was of great quality (not just a better price, often the best price can mean
disaster as anyone knows who has shopped on the Internet (or even in a physical store). But at a very decent price with great service.

My stores were not like that. They were marked up at the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices
and, though I was making many sales, I was not creating “zen”. In other words, customers were not
particularly angry at me for any reason, they were simply getting what they expected. Another
quality but maybe a bit overpriced product on the Internet.

People go to the Internet for bargains. If you have not zenned that, and you own a store, you will.
They want service and will pay a little more for that service, not a lot more but a little. So I decided
to see if zenning it really worked. Low and behold, the same week I marked down my item, found new legitimate drop shippers who could do the job fast, I could not believe the difference. I was not having
to come to them ( through a lot of advertising dollars), they were coming to me. Word of mouth was
getting out. Zenners were zenning others, who were zenning others.

So the Zen Of Bargain exists; whether you like it or not. Want to make more on each single
product you sell? Fine. I can sell twenty of them at a much lower markup than what the manufacturer recommends and still make twice as much as you will if you sell at top price.

The choice is yours. Do you want to jump up and down every time you make a sale (and you will)
for an item overpriced on the Internet…..or do you want to zen your customer into being happy and, not only coming back for more, but “zenning” their friends and associates to order as well. I opt to do it my way, but “zen again” what other way really is there?
