Does Aromatherapy Helps in Setting Your Romantic Mood?

Aromatherapy is an alternative therapy for natural healing. It can be used to relax and soothe the mind and body, to energize or even to arouse. This technique makes use of essential oils - the aromatic compounds of plants, extracted through steam distillation or other methods. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for their health supporting properties. The powerful aromas of essential oils affect your moods and feelings through your sense of smell.

By selecting a particular scent, you can encourage a state of relaxation, romance, healing or comfort. Aromatherapy stimulates your mind and emotions, by using natural herbs and plants for their scents. This is through the use of candles, oils, inhalers, or diffusers. With its ability to affect mood changes, aromatherapy can be used extensively to help you spice up your romantic life.

Some herbs are natural aphrodisiacs, which are used to initiate romantic feelings. Oils from these herbs can enhance excitement and set you in the mood for love. So you can spice up an evening with your date with aromatherapy. Jasmine, Gardenia, Rose, and Geranium are all associated with romance and love. If you would like to encourage the presence of love, think about using these oils in your aromatherapy practices.

You can use aromatherapy candles that are made out of Soy wax. These candles are all natural and will leave no soot behind or have any pollution type materials in them. Jasmine creates a beautifully romantic environment. Jasmine is also a main base for many perfumes.

Gardenia is another exotic and romantic scent. The flower is known for its incredibly fragrant aroma. Gardenia oil may be diluted for use on skin or in your bath. Add ten drops of Gardenia Oil to carrier base oil, such as 1 ounce of Jojoba oil. You may apply this oil directly on your skin. Blending Geranium and Rose can make a beautiful romantic fragrance. This may be the base for your Aromatherapy diffuser, candles, beauty products, perfumes, and even air fresheners.

Warning: Please note that using essential oils directly on your skin without diluting them with carrier oil may cause skin irritations to occur. Always read the safety precautions on the labels of your essential oils before using them.

The Highs and Lows of Working From Home

So you’ve decided to work from home, fantastic news. You imagine yourself 5 months from now on a golf course somewhere or in a bar enjoying some social drinks before returning home and discovering your business has once again expanded with very little of your own efforts brining you tonnes more money for you to spend on your leisurely pursuits and free yourself from debt forever! Unfortunately for most people the dream of working from home becomes very quickly a nightmare for these main reasons:

  1. Lack of Promotion of the business
  2. Over grand expectations too quickly
  3. Loss of interest

Lack of Promotion: I would say before you take the plunge and decide you want to fire your boss and work from home, first think about how much advertising and marketing knowledge you have, then ask yourself how can I increase this knowledge and roughly how long do I estimate it will take me to gain enough marketing experience to develop a stable business.

Over Grand Expectations: Dreams are wonderful and it’s great to have big goals, but every big tree in the forest begins as a single seed. In other words you must start small, and once you can grasp that concept life will be a lot less stressful and frustrating for you. Before your business can expand for itself you need to be able to develop a strong organisation beneath you, before you can do that you need to of acquired the marketing knowledge, and before you even begin that you need to start developing yourself as a leader, the strength of your team and the success of your business depends on how good of a leader you are.

Loss of Interest: This is one of the major factors that will prevent your success in working from home and it follows on from the other two mentioned because if you don’t know how to promote your business or develop yourself into a leader representing your company, you will not see the wealth you desire. This will make you even more frustrated and inevitably give up on the whole idea in the first place. It is hard to stay committed and focussed when working from home because our homes are a different environment to the whole office feel we are use to working in. Also there are many distractions to be found at home. The best way to stay focussed would be to make a deal with yourself to work totally and fully on your business for a certain amount of time everyday. During that time you will only involve yourself in activities that will grow your business or educate you to become better at growing your business. If you commit to just a few hours everyday without fail of doing this, over time you will begin to experience tremendous success and it won’t be long before you can enjoy those late noon golfing sessions while your business works for you

Fast Weight Loss - Is It For You

Obesity is one of the fastest growing epidemics in our modern world. We as a society are on the fast track constantly. We hurry to work. We hurry home. We hurry our meals because we have things to do…kids to practice….television to watch…and the list goes on. In the process we eat at Macy D’s, Pizza Hut, and dozens of other fast food places. When we fix dinner at home many times it is a processed pop in the microwave meal. And along with all of this comes the fat.

We are experiencing more and more problems due to obesity. Heart disease and diabetes both have factors arising from obesity. And your knees hurt… you have trouble breathing…. your back hurts……and the list continues. Our hospitals are having to buy special beds and equipment to care for the obese. Obesity is killing us.

As a society we frown on obesity and most of us being used to everything being quick want to lose that weight quickly. We will try everything we can to lose weight and conform to society’s view of the beautiful person. But is it safe to lose the weight fast?

Fast weight loss can be as dangerous as the excess weight. It can mess up your body’s delicate balance of electrolytes and other things that keep us going. Yes, you can lose weight quickly and most usually a quick weight loss means a gain of those pounds back in a few days or weeks.

To lose weight safely it needs to be done over a period of time in a safe and sustained manner. Those charlatans selling the snake oil will try to get you to buy every pill or chemical out there to help you lose those excess pounds.

What you need is a plan for sustained weight loss. You need to look at your diet. You need an exercise program. As you start the weight loss program find yourself a buddy to do it with you. It makes it easier if you have the help of someone else. Your exercise program should be something you enjoy. Walking on a treadmill gets real boring real fast. Go to the park and enjoy the sounds and smells of nature as you walk.

A good support system of friends and family who can tell you how good you are doing and how good you look will drive you on as well. We all like praise and that support system will help with that. Set a short term goal and give yourself a reward. Say you have 50 pounds to lose. Set your short term goal at 15 pounds and when you get there treat yourself to something you really enjoy eating but don’t go overboard.

To really lose weight you need to develop your plan and stick to it. Most quick weight loss claims are strictly hype and you need reality.

10 Great Tips for Writing Strong Copy

The first rule of writing effective copy is writing it in a tone and style that your audience will understand. If you are writing to an audience of lawyers, write on a level they will understand. Don’t write on a level that you would if you were writing to children.

1. Figure out who your market is. Find out lifestyles, demographics, geographics, and anything else that is relevant with understand that market.

2. Before you write any copy, make sure that you have thoroughly studied the product or service that you are selling.

3. Make sure your copy flows. Don’t change from a formal tone to an informal tone, unless it is something that you are trying to convey in your message. Use short sentences that are easy to read. Be clear and concise with the message that you are trying to deliver.

4. When writing effective copy, stay away from using the word “I.” People want to know what’s in it for them, they are not really interested in you as much as they are as themselves.

5. Generating a killer headline is what is going to get the prospects attention. Make sure that your headline is captivating. If you are going to be clever, make sure the prospect can figure out the message immediately. You don’t want them to wonder what the message is or what you are trying to sell.

6. People buy on emotion. No matter what you are selling make sure you list benefit after benefit as they sell. Features are nice, but they will not sell the product. Always remember to start with the benefit.

7. Develop a strong call to action. You can have great sales literature, but without a call to action, you are only going to delay getting a direct response to whatever you are trying to sell.

8. If you are writing web copy, make sure it is filled with rich keywords, as you want to get the best search results possible.

9. Always open paragraphs with attention getting hooks. Don’t let the reader drift into another state when they are reading your copy. If so, then the prospect will go elsewhere.

10. Be sure to review your copy as many times as possible. Read it one time, read it again. Put it down, then read it again. Make sure it is the best copy that you have ever written. After all, you want customers and clients to keep coming back to you for business. That’s why you are in business — right?

The No.1 Biggest Cause of Failure

I will confess that for me personally my biggest arch enemy is procrastination. I’m a sucker for it, for me getting ideas or initial enthusiasm is the easy part, it’s keeping up the momentum and following my idea through to completion that’s the hard part. My mind will find an infinite number of things that I can do before I go ahead and follow my plan through. Even writing and submitting this very article becomes a mammoth test of will power and focus. To combat this dreaded enemy I have taken a different approach instead of just trying to force myself to commit to the task I have set for myself, I create smaller easier tasks leading up to my main goal. I break it down and if I still fall into procrastination I break it down into even smaller more manageable tasks to the point when it’s almost as effortless as getting dressed in the morning. I have found personally that by breaking each main goal down in this way it allows me to get started on doing something! Before my mind has time to get bored or overwhelmed by the task at hand.

Also by doing very small tasks everyday you will quickly find out that all your efforts will add up and amount to an enormous workload that would appear very daunting if undertaken all at once. It’s so much easier to do something little each day than to do something huge in a few days! Do this right now, get a pen and a piece of paper and write your biggest goal for this year, then right down your biggest goal for the month, finally write just 3 things you will do each day from now on till you achieve your monthly goal.

Rick Warren’s Whole Bird – Why This Bird Can’t Fly

Like Dr. Richard Land I have also seen the importance of becoming involved with the democratic process on every level. It is not as important as the call to the gospel but it is folly to ignore political process. From the single vote to full blown activism it is all too apparent that doing nothing would be fatal to freedom to all that is right and in the end to society and the church itself.

Unfortunately I have discovered that the church has a lot of folk who seem to have little political savvy. Perhaps that is why Jesus said, “…for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” Luke 16:8

A few Christians who are politically inept pose no great danger but for those who rise to celebrity status it is a different matter. The sphere of influence increases exponentially as does the responsibility. Hollywood actors are best known for misusing their celebrity to make swelling unsubstantiated and blaringly cockeyed statements. Reaching the heights of success does not guaranty that what they say didn’t come from the depths of hell. It is a common error that has become all too common among Christians as well.

When asked if he is politically left or right, liberal or conservative Warren often replies with his now famous retort “I’m for the whole bird.” Some may think this is a reflection of a very large minded individual who prefers to take in the full spectrum of the matter, yet others think the bird is a chicken and the position is chicken too.

First analysis of Warren’s “whole bird” idea comes from Rick’s own bible. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Rev 3: 15-16

Straddling the fence may work well in politics but it is particularly abhorrent to the Lord when found in his people. It isn’t about taking sides as much as it is about sending a clear signal. For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 1Cor 14: 8

Most of the criticism of Warren’ politics comes because Barack Obama was invited to speak along with others in Warren’s conference on aids. Obama is a left wing liberal who supports abortion rights and same sex marriages. Warren is quick to remind those who question sharing the podium with Obama that the subject was aids not abortion or same sex unions. I would stand corrected if someone could show me that what we stand against is just as important as what we stand for.

Compartmentalizing issues may also work well with politics but fails miserably in Christianity. Not leaving this statement hanging in mid air from nothing let’s look a bit further into the analysis.

No one would disagree that the spread of aids is a direct byproduct of an age of permissiveness. Abortion is also a byproduct of the “me” generation. It’s a play but no pay attitude that says, “My sex life cannot not be threatened by anyone’s idea of morality but the life it may produce can be ended with complete impunity.” Blaming society for causing the spread of aids may not always be acceptable but taking personal responsibility for our own actions is.

Although inverted the truth coming out of the whole analogy remains the same. The promotion of abortion rights and same sex unions is connected at the hip to the spread of aids. It’s like trying to sell a generation a scam based on “play any old way and you’ll not have to pay” and no one notices the scam until they get a bill in the mail marked “aids pay up or die.”

Just because the term “consenting adults” has taken on an air of holiness doesn’t mean it comes without consequences. We’re quick to warn children not to play with matches but that doesn’t mean adults don’t get burned in fires just as easily as children. Sexual freedom is like most all other freedoms it is not free.

During the civil war a union soldier found himself separated from his company. He knew he was near the Mason Dixon line and not wanting to get shot by either side he wore blue pants and a gray shirt. As he crossed the line the Yankees shot him in the chest and the Confederates shot him in the pants. It worked! He didn’t get shot, he got shot twice! The bottom line is that Warren’s bird cannot fly. One wing wants to go up while the other wants to go down you can’t have it both ways.

Risk Factors for Kidney Cancer

There are many risk factors for kidney cancer. Among a few of the top risks are smoking, an inactive life style, exposure to chemicals at home or where you work, being overweight and family history. There are other risk factors that can lead to kidney cancer also, such as, high blood pressure, taking diuretics, race, gender and certain medications. The thing to remember is just because risk factors are present does not mean the disease will form. Risk factors give the physician a better idea on how to assess symptoms and how closely to watch a patient. A patient with a higher amount of risk factors will be watched more closely when symptoms of the disease arise than those without risk factors.

It is also important to know risk factors to help aid in preventing the disease from occurring. If there are risk factors you can prevent such as smoking or increasing vitamin intake, you maybe able to help lower your chance of getting the disease. If you stop smoking, the chances of you contracting kidney cancer are greatly reduced by as much as 40%.

Some risk factors can not be avoided; such as genetic factors. As with many forms of kidney cancer, losing weight and maintaining daily exercise will definitely help your cause. Obesity is the most common reason for adult onset diabetes and juvenile diabetes, causing the need for dialysis or kidney failure. Dialysis is inevitable in most patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Among these common risk factors are also Tuberous Sclerosis, Von Hippel Lindau disease and low vitamin E intake. Von Hippel-Lindau disease is a disease of tumors, which cause complications in the nervous system. It causes continuous growth of tumors in the brain; causing problems with common things like walking, vision loss and retinal problems. It also causes tumors in the kidneys and pancreas. Von Hippel Lindau disease in very rare and is found in only 1 of 36,000 cases and commonly diagnosed in the mid to upper twenties. Symptoms of the disease are mostly finding multiple tumors in common areas, or one tumor in named areas and a definite family history of the disease.

Tuberous Sclerosis, also known as TSC, is a complex; which causes irregular development of benign tumors in the central nervous system. TSC can cause seizures, behavioral problems and skin abnormalities. The tumors often form in the heart, kidneys and lungs. TSC can be mild or severe and one can live a normal life, if it is treated properly.

The most important thing that you need to do is to consult with your physician regularly if you have any of these risk factors. Prevention is important by taking actions on those things that you can control or stop. However, do not stop taking medications. Remember, these are risk factors and though having them does not guarantee that you will contract kidney cancer it does mean you should educate yourself and get regular checkups to aid in early detection. The earlier the cancer is found the better the prognosis.
