Breastfeeding - The Top Ten Secrets For Success

Breastfeeding is the best gift a mother can offer her newborn baby. The benefits of breastfeeding are numerous. Among others, breastfeeding have the advantages of: contributing to baby’s brain development, is easier to digest, provides powerful antibodies and stimulates the baby’s own immune system, favors bonding with the mother, etc

Breastmilk is also very economical, always ready and has the perfect composition for the developing baby. Breastfeeding is also environmentally friendly as it does not require bottles and does not create wastes of any kind.

Breastfeeding does require a more important involvement from the mother as she is the only one who can provide the baby’s milk. New mothers are often discouraged by the amount of time breastfeeding requires from them and tend to abandon breastfeeding in the first week after birth.

There are many tricks that can make breastfeeding a lot easier. Here are the top ten secrets to a successful breastfeeding experience:

1)-Breastfeeding when seen as an occasion to spend quality time with the baby becomes easier and a joyous moment in a new mother’s day.

2)-There are many other tasks the father can help with besides breastfeeding thus relieving the mother. The father can prepare meals, change diapers, burp the baby, go for a stroll with the baby while the mother rests or takes a nice shower, etc

3)-A sure way of not feeling overwhelmed by breastfeeding is to give up on trying to have the perfect house and letting go of the obsession to dust or vacuum.

4)-A breastfeeding mother should rest as much as she can and enjoy a well-deserved nap whenever her baby is sleeping.

5)-A breastfeeding mother should keep herself well-hydrated and drink plenty of water. Alcohol and stimulants such as coffee or soft drinks should be avoided as much as possible as they can be passed to the baby through the breastmilk.

6)-Learning to understand her baby’s feelings will greatly help a breastfeeding mother.

7)-Reading the appropriate books and documentation on breastfeeding will help the new nursing mother. Furthermore, taking part in a breastfeeding support group will prove of immense help.

8)-A breastfeeding mother should respect her baby’s rhythm more than any clock. After all, there will be days when her baby will grow more rapidly and will need more frequent feedings.

9)-A breastfeeding mother should always have the support of her entourage in her venture. Having to hide to be able to breastfeed or defend one’s choice to nurse her baby can drain a lot of energy from the new mother.

10)-A nursing mother should trust her capacities, accept all the help and support people are offering and know that she is giving her newborn baby the best possible gift.

The Struggling Writer and the Advertising Scandal

I am a struggling writer! I struggle to write something worthwhile!

Just the other day, during my brain’s agonising struggles, it dawned on me that over the last two months I had not written one article, not one sad ‘memo-to-self’ nor had I entered one word into my sad Blog, yet I have been sitting at my computer struggling about it all! I now see myself as the struggling painter, the one who has achieved nothing more than recoating the drab-grey front door of my sister-in-laws house; she assuming that she has helped me somewhat on the road to enlightenment.

I looked around the other day (or twenty) for some path to follow, some enlightenment on the search engines for struggling writers and realised that here was the last place that I should be looking and that I should after all just write something and write it well instead of searching for the answer!

When I started writing four years ago I took pains to correct my grammar and to re-read closely the finished works. Then after one year I simply wrote for the sake of writing and forgot all about the presentation factor - I fell into the trap of quantity over quality! I would hastily write one article of about 2000 words, usually in-less than one hour, and then spend three or more hours publishing it to my Blog or website and any other websites who would take it!

To look at the Internet more deeply; the statistics last month (March 2007) show clearly that 500 people hopped along to my website! Now, of those 500 people, 400 of them did not stay longer than 5 seconds! In fact, of those 500 people only 12 of them spent longer than 30 minutes. This states that less than 5% of visitors spent any time reading anything at all! 95% of them just flicked through, skip read a couple of sentences and then moved on! And it could be possible that of those 12 people who actually logged on to my website for longer than 30 minutes, three of them fell asleep with my website still up, another three couldn’t get away from it as their mouse had failed, three more were Chinese and were just looking at the pretty pictures and the last three were all family members who felt sorry for me (I was one of them)!

I certainly have questioned these horrible statistics; do they go to prove that my articles and writing are not worth being read and that a simple skip over proves this or are the large search engines simply providing wrong results? I talked this over with a friend of mine and he said “if a web searcher does not find what he is looking for within 3 seconds he/she will promptly move on”! That is the average time it takes to make a judgement on a website and regardless of a sites alternative worth, if it does not immediately captivate and hold, then ’swish’, away they go! In other words; if a searcher is looking for tips on modern-day cannibalism then an article on head-hunting in the 18th century would not hold sway, however well written and researched the article maybe!

A person going to the bookshop can spend hours meandering along the shelves, reading snippets on ‘Travel by Harley Davidson through Tibet’, a book on ‘how to translate in sixteen different languages all at once’ and laughing out loud at some graphically boosted diary titled ‘life at sixteen as a bitch”. And they only went there for five-minutes to pick up some postcards for Granny! Surfers who use search engines do not typically retain the same relaxed approach; they speed through results on a mission, they sit on the edge of the chair and rattle through websites with unexplained nervousness, typically boosted by a teaspoon-standing jug of coffee laced with an unreasonable amount of artificial sweetener!

And in this tone; the major search engines that host adverts relish in this type of behaviour from its customer base. Take Google, Amazon or Yahoo for example, companies whose revenue is largely generated through surfers clicking on opportune adverts! If a surfer clicks on an advert the hosting website is paid a certain fee; advertisers pay the likes of Google and Yahoo to host their advertisements on certain websites and these stay up for as many clicks on these adverts as they have paid for. Following on therefore, I can only assume that a website that has no content and is filled simply with adverts is the most ideal website possible for these search engines. Web crawlers will not be wasting time at websites reading interesting articles; they will be clicking on an advert to move away from this extremely boring site!

Since I started writing (and from the day that I started to submit my articles to article banks and websites in the hope of becoming known and extremely popular) I soon realised that I was becoming well-known but not in the way that I wanted to be. My articles started to appear everywhere, on sites that bear no relation to the articles content and in many cases amongst a mass of adverts - quite clearly the webmaster hosting my articles hopes that the reader will find my articles sufficiently boring as to click on an advert to escape and thus generate a couple of cents, pennies or roubles for the pockets of the host.

Today, I typed in ‘Seadolby Articles’ into the Google Search Engine. A few of the results that came up were;

1. The Grumpy Edinburgh article. I wrote this piece many years ago, a look into the typical grumpiness of the Edinburgh inhabitants through personal experience - a trait that still remains today. This article appears on a page with 16 different Google generated adverts and two affiliate money-generating links to Google products. The article is clearly displayed on a page with the title “Asia Information”. The last time I looked Edinburgh was in Scotland not in Asia, or was that the village of Edinburgh in Indonesia?????

2. My Article titled, Surviving Retirement, which is basically an insight into saving money for old-age, can be found on a website titled, Beach Umbrellas. This article is displayed there simply because I mention the word ‘umbrella’ in a sentence; “The financial security umbrella that most wage earners would like to shelter under after retirement is …”. Of course the article is liberally inter-spaced with Google adverts!

3. A Website titled, “Dental health, good gums”, has a link to my article on Free Gifts in Taiwan. The connection here passes me by! This website is filled with adverts from Amazon.Com and Google. Strangely enough the Google adverts give links to five-star hotels which confuses the issue even more!

4. And the one that I laugh hysterically about in a depreciative manner is an article that seriously criticises website advertisers and states how terrible they are, titled, The Online Advertising Scandal. This attacking article appears on a website titled “Website Advertising”, a site whose sole purpose is to gain income from potential advertisers. Naturally this website comes resplendent with adverts that certainly give colour to the site and also lots of income, despite my article telling all and sundry that they are being ripped-off!

NB: I only give links here to my origianl articles as posted on my website. I simply have no wish to advertise or link to those external sites who host my articles to boost profits.

I’m no purist! My own website comes with its fair share of advertisements - should any visitor become seriously bored with my articles then they can click on an advert and generate some income for me. The difference is that my articles are original (I did after all write them myself), they are apt for the page they reside on and from my point of view are interesting to read, should anybody stay longer than to simply skip read the title in the hope of finding information on wooden legs or ‘how to make pancakes from wood chips’!

I fell into this trap four years ago! I regurgitated endless streams of articles, quantity to satisfy those websites who will display my articles in conjunction with advertisements! I wrote articles that nobody would ever read and scripts that were only useful because they carried an apt word here or certain content there and so would draw a particular category of advert or customer. Nearly forty percent (if not more) of websites out there seem to be totally arranged around adverts, many of them with my content, apt or not, to draw the crowds!

I’m not proud of what I have done!

But now it is time to change! I cannot, it seems, erase the last four years of bad writing - the web does not give up the past, it keeps the ghosts of time gone by to be replayed time and again like a bad record! My bad articles will stay on the internet to haunt me, the only thing that I can do is to correct those that I display on my site and to only write new ones that I like and that I have researched well and then only to display them on sites to which they are appropriate.

And I must seriously get around to writing articles for magazines and journals, those in-print, so that some people might actually stop by to read in leisure!

But now that I am faced with this task I find myself unable to write anything worthwhile and so I sit here struggling with nary a word to put down onto paper!

Babywearing - One Moms Experience With Being Hands Free and Heart Full

When I became a mom, something magical happened. An inner strength and desire to protect, love and nurture rose up within me. Desires, dreams and fears awakened in my heart that once lay dormant. I felt fit for the task and excited for the adventure of motherhood that stretched out ahead me. When my relatives went home and my husband returned to work I believe I handled the change exceptionally well. That is until our fridge containing a few leftovers and several bottles of breast milk finally forced us to venture out of the house to the grocery store. Until this point, I really felt that I was pulling off my new mommy role quite well. However, I had no idea that my little 5 pound 10 oz hunk of love could require so much extra effort for something as simple as a run to the store. Between loading and unloading the car seat, diaper bag, stroller, and to-do list I felt as though I may as well have been charting territory in a foreign land. After I returned home from that first adventure, I boldly decided that running errands alone with my baby was just too much work. The thought of pulling my Cadillac stroller and heavy car seat in and out of my car for another excursion was simply more than I could bear. Later that week, a lady at church breezed past my son and I, holding her new baby in a sling. Both she and her baby looked happy, content and close. In that moment, I knew I had to have one. I had just discovered my ticket to freedom.

Love At First Sight

I loved my first baby carrier so much that I started buying and trying other types of carriers to see how they compared. Each one seemed to offer something slightly unique and different that I loved. I was amazed at how many types, styles and variations were available. It was like a secret world opening up for me. I started learning that babywearing offered many benefits to the child including crying less, learning more, and increased IQ! I found out that babies that are “worn” also have been shown to exhibit reduced colic and spit-up with increased cardiac output and improved circulation. Not to mention the benefits for me! I could nurse with the carrier, shop without a bulky stroller and I was hands free and able to get things done around the house!

Taking it to the next level

As my collection of baby carriers grew, so did my knowledge of how to use them and the pros and cons of each style. If my son was just fussy and needing to be close on and off throughout the day or if I was making a quick run into the store I loved my pouch style slings such as the New Native Baby Carrier or The Peanut Shell. The simple tube design was quick to slip on over my arm and head to my shoulder. The way it hung on my body looked much like sash. I loved how easy it was to wear it like this throughout the day. It did not feel bulky or in the way and whenever I wanted to wear my son, I could slip him into the pouch in a matter of seconds–it was so easy to use. For days when I really needed to get work done around the house or for longer shopping trips, I often reached for my wrap style carriers. Wrap carriers, such as a Moby wrap or Moby D, are a specially designed strip of fabric. The long, (often stretchy) fabric is cleverly wrapped around your torso, over your shoulders, around your torso again and then secured at your waist with a knot or a d-ring. I found the wrap carriers to have a slight initial learning curve.

However, the clearly marked instructions quickly eased my mind and after my first few attempts I was a believer. Because their straps go over both shoulders and securely wrapped around me and my baby, he felt very close. I felt very comfortable, secure and ready to move. For long durations of wear, the wrap carriers became my staple. Finally, if I was visiting friends or family that wanted to share in the fun of baby wearing, I brought along my adjustable slings such as a Maya Wrap or Rockin Baby Sling. These adjustable carriers were very similar to the pouch style in the way that they hung from one shoulder to the opposite hip like a sash. However, they had an extra tail of fabric looped though a d-ring positioned by your shoulder. Although I did not enjoy the extra bulk created by this fabric tail when I was using the sling alone, it certainly allowed for an easy, adjustable, customized fit for all body types when I was sharing it with others. These adjustable carriers (as well as the wrap carriers) are also an economical choice for parents to share with each other rather than buying two separate sizes since they are a one size fits all option.

They each have a place in my heart

All of the carriers could be used from birth to 35 pounds and each offered a variety of carrying positions. So when I need a carrier, my question was not necessarily which carrier to use, but rather what need to fill. Each carrier was my favorite in its own special way. I feel that other moms can benefit from my experience when looking for their own ideal baby carrier. After all, just as no two mamas are alike, neither are their preferences for baby carriers. I compiled a sling comparison chart comparing a wide variety of baby carriers side by side under factors such as “reduces back strain”, “easy on, easy off”, and “discreet nursing”. Thankfully, with the myriad of choices available, and the right kind of helpful information, any mom is bound to find the baby carrier that is perfect for times when the arms give out but her heart just won’t let go. Equipped with the right carrier, she can join me and venture out of her home to chart new territory in a foreign land with her hands free to record her findings for future generations.

Get Rid of Bloating - Tips on How to Get Rid of Bloating

Bloating is a major problem for many people today. It is a condition whereby the stomach becomes inflated by excessive gas content. It can be a very uncomfortable condition and affect your ability to enjoy life. Here, you will find out how to get rid of bloating.

Bloating can make you feel weak, tired, lethargic and unmotivated. If you have been struggling with this health condition for some time, chances are you’ve tried everything to put an end to this ailment, but you’re still struggling. This is because the root cause of the problem was never eliminated.

If you suffer from this health problem, it is important to seek help. This disorder can be eliminated by getting rid of the cause.

There are many ways to eliminate bloating. The first step is to find out what causes your bloating and then it becomes easier to get rid of.

Bloating is sometimes a symptom of other digestive system disorders. For example, bloating may be caused by lactose intolerance. When there is imbalance of intestinal flora bloating may be present.

Our bodies produce an enzyme called lactase. Lactase is needed to digest milk sugar called lactose. If you’re lactose intolerant, it then means your digestive system is not able to digest the lactose in dairy foods. Without lactase the undigested milk sugar (lactose) ferments and forms gases. These trapped gases will then overstretch your bowel and cause you to feel bloated, and you may even feel pain.

The human intestinal tract is inherently abundant in bacteria, both beneficial and harmful. These microorganisms play a big role in the functioning of your digestive system, immune system and other body functions.

When we have too few of these beneficial microorganisms in our digestive system, we suffer various digestive ailments, including excessive gas, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, yeast infection, irregularities, constipation, or a weaker immune system.

You can eliminate bloating through several different methods. You can encourage the growth of a healthy microflora by eating the right foods. But the easiest and most effective way is through the use of probiotics.

Probiotics are good bacteria strains that positively influence the microflora of the digestive system. They offer a broad range of health benefits when consumed in sufficient numbers. They prevent the proliferation of bad bacteria in the intestinal tract by crowding them out. They help digest and absorb our food, eliminate wastes and toxins and maintain a healthy intestinal function.

The body should have a bacteria ratio of 85% friendly bacteria to 15% unfriendly bacteria. If you are to maintain a healthy body, you need large quantities of good (friendly) bacteria. You can restore your healthy digestive tract and get rid of bloating by consuming a high quality probiotic supplement.

You should not allow your bloating to go untreated. Ignoring it can only make things worse later. You can put an end to your suffering by re-populating your intestinal tract with sufficient quantities of beneficial bacteria. Thousands of people have done it, and you can do it too.

Are you one of those that suffer from this condition but have no clue how to go about getting rid of bloating? Discover how to get rid of bloating now. Check out Collins DeConle’s site on how to get rid of bloating at http://www.howtogetridofhealthproblems.com

Josie’s story

It’s a warm Sunday afternoon, the sky is scattered with light fluffy clouds and the scent of sweetness floats through the air from the Wattle tree in blossom outside of her window. Josie doesn’t see the beauty in the afternoon, lately she doesn’t see the beauty in anything very much, and her life has become one huge scavenger hunt, where she spends every waking moment desperately trying to either control or fix her life.

Her eyes are as blue as cornflowers, her hair long and wavy, her body tiny and thin almost to the point of gauntness. Like a tiny delicate bird that has just endured another storm, she huddles in a crumpled heap almost invisible in the corner of her lounge suite. Muffled heart wrenching sobs fill the air with a thickness that is almost physical as Josie desperately clings to one of the huge indigo blue silk pillows which adorn her modest home. Her daughter Becky looks on in helpless desperation, not knowing what to do to ease her mother’s pain, nor her own for that matter. Right at this moment Becky just wants to be anywhere but here with this basket case of a mother of hers, how she hates the new age crap. “pull yourself together for Gods sake,” Becky yells at her mother, tears flooding down her face she just cant bear to see what’s happening any longer, she turns and flees from the room, anywhere, I just want to be anywhere but here!

Finally after an hour or two, Josie begins to regain some measure of composure, her face swollen from the tears, her beautiful eyes red she sniffles into a handful of crumpled tissues, and looks around the room hopelessly.

“What did I do this time?” she asks herself over and over, and looking to the sky she screams, “Why me God? What have I done to deserve this?” and the tears continue to flow.

Josie has been working on fixing her life for so long now, she is tired, so tired and even though every $ she has goes into books, and workshops, at the end of the day nothing really seems to be getting better. She went to a workshop just last month that promised emotional healing, it took her back to all the crap from childhood, facing the poverty once again and the nastiness of other children because her family were so poor, she thought she had finished with all that, but no, it still hurts. At the end of the workshop she did for a moment feel better, and she even felt justified in having some reason for what she perceived to be her inability to have a committed relationship with a man. Although she couldn’t understand how her having chronic fatigue related to what happened in her childhood, but at least she had something to blame. Life just wasn’t working out, and all the looking back into the past only seemed to keep bring up feelings and thoughts that kept her miserable now. And it surely was doing that, the ra-ra-ra of the workshop left her high as a kite, only to hit the ground with one heck of a thump just weeks later when reality set in, that life is still about living, and its not what you did but what your doing now that counts…

Taking a deep breath, she reached for the phone and dialed, … “Good morning,” a strong clear voice chirped into the ear piece of the phone, “Hi, its Josie,” she sniffled “I need to talk to you my friend, for Gods sake help me to understand, I just cant take this any longer, what am I doing? What is it that keeps me this blubbering mess?”

Personal Development and Workshops! What do they really do for you?

Have you ever left a workshop or training course after paying hundreds of $ feeling “Yes, that was fantastic! Only to wake up a few weeks later feeling even more disempowered, confused and depressed than you were before you went? When you went back to the instructor of the course did that person then lay the blame right back at your feet, saying things like, “well you didn’t stick to the breathing routine you were supposed to do, or you didn’t stick to the diet, so what do you expect?” Always the blame is placed right back at your feet, it couldn’t have possibly been because the theory they were tying to implant in your psyche just doesn’t work! No, and its always a mystery to me how so many of the empowerment products and process just leave you an emotional basket case, even more unsure and even more frustrated than before you became involved.

The most powerful insight you can learn from Josie is that “What ever you focus on is what you experience.” She was so busy trying to fix her life; she lived every moment trying to work out what was wrong, so all she got was more and more sadness. It’s so simple, make the choice now, to stop the self analyzing, stop the thinking about the past, stop the sadness, and live! Right this moment you have the power to choose how you’re going to feel, so what will it be?

Dealing With Death And Dying

Dealing with Death and Dying The basis for my writing:For many years I worked with the terminally ill and their families, my role was I suppose you could say, paving the way for peace to enter the lives of all concerned. Some clients would comment that they found after I left they would have a peace, a deep peace within that allowed and supported them in their journey. Others said when I visited and put my hands upon the place of their illness the pain would vanish; one dear friend also remarked that he did not need Morphine for 18 hours after my visit.

To me I felt humbled that I could bring such peace to someone in such pain, and just to put your mind to rest, I did not charge for this service. Some people would call me a healer, others a spiritual helper, others well I must admit over the years I was called everything from a witch to a blessing. But all my clients were thankful and helped by my work. Working as a healer has a great deal of responsibility attached, the point of working with someone is working unconditionally in order to assist the clients greater good. The difficult thing for some people to understand is that living is not always the point of the journey, some people come into my life seeking help more to come to peace with what has been their lives, to settle old regrets and to heal the relationships between themselves and their loved ones.

Many healers have a good intent yet interfere with their clients by focusing their energy towards a physical healing of the individual in need. Physical healing is only one small part of the big picture. Energy sent must always be in the way that the person in need can transmute that love energy and use it whatever way they require, regardless to weather it is used on a physical, mental, emotional, spiritual plane, ultimately their soul their spirit knows what is needed to clear as much karma as possible before the transition.

I have a strong belief in the afterlife; I suppose that comes from having the personal experience of a near death at the age of 26 years. I also experience every day people who have passed over, people who contact their loved ones through me; life is more than the energy locked to this physical body, it is far more and far more enduring and far more than even I can put into words. It is a wonderful thing to see people who were at war with life, completely let go of their hatreds, prejudices and regrets before passing over.

It is a wonderful thing to see the fear of death leave, and the knowing that all is going to be alright moved in to take its place. How do I accomplish this? Well not by magic, not by any mythical way, I simply do not have the emotional chaos in relation to death and dying inside of me, and due to the fact I am calm and peaceful, this allows the clients energy to entrain to mine. (Entrainment ~ is when you hold a baby and its heart beat becomes the same pattern as yours, its when two people breathe in rhythm, think aligned, feel the same. Like when women live in the same household they both will menstruate at the same time of the month ~ these are all examples of entrainment.) I have cleared much of my own stuff ~ so to speak, and due to that and the skills I have I am able to see clearly what needs to be addressed and then support the client to do this without any pain or suffering.

My love of people, and compassion is the vehicle that the energy flows through, my unconditional love, no judgement, no evaluation of a life or a personality, just being able to allow Gods energy to pass through me to that person in need. People don’t need to believe in anything for healing to help ~ its not necessarily about belief, it’s not necessarily about anything, it just works. I believe we all can do this, the problem is that often when someone is dying, those around that person are too caught up in the emotions of their own grief and loss, to be able to help and be a rock for the person in need to grab hold of. You may think from what I have said that I may never have lost anyone close to me, but that is not true, at the age of 27, I nursed my Father through cancer until 3 days before his death, and at 46 I nursed my mothering between that I worked with my dearest friend to help bring her baby boy into the world and then became her constant source of strength in the weeks that followed until she died, JJ was 4 months old at the time. Being able to be there for someone only requires one thing that you care enough to put your own feelings aside to be there for them. That is all that matters, keeping them feeling they are not alone, keeping them focused on feeling safe, reassuring them you are there, and listening to them when they want to talk.

We all want our loved ones to stay around, to be with us, yet I know they never really go anywhere, they just change form. Death is like entering a doorway to another room, where the energy just vibrates at a different frequency to the physical world. That is all, its just a journey, one which takes us to a space where we can see the truth, about all things, a place where we can be with those who have passed before us, and those who wait for us when it is our time. The only thing that prevents the souls of people passing on to the light, to where the frequency is full of love and friends and peace, is fear ~ those who have a heavy conscience one full of fear and regret sometimes become what is called earthbound souls, or more commonly known as Ghosts, these spirits often don’t know they have passed over and exist by depleting or sucking energy from living people. They stay trapped, lost and searching until someone comes along who can help open that door for them to pass over to the lighter energy plane.

I will write more on this subject soon, so stay tuned. Much Love and blessings TRUITY Lesley Williams

Leatherman Squirt E4, Leatherman Squirt P4, Leatherman Squirt S4 - Comparison and Product Review

The Leatherman Squirt is a tough, but tiny, pocket tool. It’s not a pocket knife. It’s not a tool like a hammer or screwdriver. It is a small multi-tool. When it is folded closed, it is perfect for your pocket, keychain, drawer, briefcase, purse, glove compartment, backpack, and toolbox.

The Leatherman Squirt consists of three distinct models: E4, P4 and S4. It’s easy to tell them apart. Basically, E is for Electrician, P is for Pliers, and S is for Scissors. Features included in each model are listed below:

E4 features:
1.-Wire Strippers (5 total: range from 20GA to 12GA)

7.-Nail File/Cleaner

10.-Ruler

The Leatherman Squirt E4 is new for 2007 and appeals to handymen and hobbyists that need to occasionally strip wires. With 5 different wire gauge sizes that can be stripped and a built-in wire cutter, you’re covered for most quick jobs that come up when you’re tinkering around in your garage or at work. One person that saw the new E4 said he would use this tool when he’s working on installing car stereos with his friends on the weekend. The bottle opener allows you to crack open some cold beverages when your puttering is done.

The P4 and S4 appeared around 2001. If you think you will use pliers more than scissors, go for the P4 model. Women will lean towards the S4 since it is equipped with scissors and a nail file and cleaner. The P4 skips the nail file and opts for a single-cut and a cross-cut file instead.

Since features of all three models vary a little, you really have to weigh which features you will use the most and then go for that model. Color may be a factor as well. All Leatherman Squirt models are available: storm gray, glacier blue and inferno red. Additionally, the P4 and S4 are also produced in powder pink.

Regardless of the model Squirt you select. You will like the feel of it in your hand. All models, whether open or closed, have nice rounded lines and make the tool very comfortable to hold. You can also access some of the implements when the multi-tool is in the folded, closed position.

Overall, the Squirt is ergonomic and handy. Tough but tiny. Sometimes you want a quick, convenient fix. That’s when the Squirt comes in and blows the competition away. A true winner in Leatherman’s line of small keychain size multi-tools. Perfect for men and women alike.
