Hillary Clinton for First Madam President

One of the best clauses in the American constitution must be that the American President has to step down after two terms. Good-bye Mr George W Bush, job well done though if one judges his term as to the amount of damage one person and his sidekicks can perpetrate on other people. There are still some Americans who view him with favour. Not as many as before, but nevertheless many. I suppose those are the people who have not lost a loved one in a misguided war in Iraq.

Personally, I am hoping that Hillary Clinton will make it to the White House. To a certain extent it’s a gender issue for me. No previous women have made it to American president, although not that many have tried. I suppose they knew that the public would not have the same confidence in a woman president than in a man. It would seem a foregone conclusion that Hillary Clinton would get in if the women voters stood behind her in one block of support. Regrettably, women have previously been their own worst enemy in issues of gender equality. To hope that American women would actually take up the fight for one of their own, and one as capable if not more than the other candidates, is almost a lost cause.

Besides the gender issue for me is the fact that she is an extremely capable woman, who has planned her strategy very carefully. She has experience of the job, which is more than the other candidates have, unless of course Al Gore decides to run. Her move into the Senate in 2000 launching her personal political career was well executed. She has become a respected and well-liked Senator, even though she started her personal political life with a reputation of being aloof, arrogant, imperious and any other number of adjectives along those lines. She has shaken off these perceptions and has won approval and has built personal capital in the Senate chamber that trades heavily on it.

Vote for Hillary Clinton, American voters, please. You won’t regret it. I’m sure there are many who are regretting their vote for Georgie. I would if I had voted for him, especially the second time around. If you want an honest, intelligent well-qualified president who has the interest of her people at heart, Hillary Clinton is your person.
