Hidden Stages in a Relationship (1)

Without exception, all relationships have stages. Even though everyone is unique, there is enough consistency in human action to demonstrate noticeable patterns in behaviour. It is difficult to put a time frame on their evolution, because that depends mainly on the confidence, maturity and aspirations of the people involved, but relationships have, broadly speaking, three stages: honeymoon, disillusionment and accommodation. Although more subtle ones have been uncovered, these three major stages apply in a consistent globalised pattern and, no matter what form they take, it is our expectations which define their outcome. If not fulfilled, this fourth invisible force, which is dictated by our perception, tends to be the eventual killer of the best partnerships.

Being closely allied to achievement, expectation is not only more self-centred in its influence, it also affects the level of commitment brought by both parties and controls every aspect of behaviour in the partnership. For instance, 50 or 60 years ago, most people married with the expectation that their relationship would last a lifetime, hence the vow of ‘For better or worse, till death us do part’ – a commitment that was usually binding, and maintained regardless of the personal cost. This expectation was reinforced by a society which ostracised divorced partners and often stigmatised their children too. However, the expectations of those times have changed significantly. Despite the rising divorce statistics, most people still look at marriage as a long-term, if not a lifetime, relationship, and few expect it to end in divorce. Most are also aware that, if all else fails, they can terminate the relationship without suffering the social consequences of yesteryear. These days it’s the financial consequences which usually carry the sting.

As we all know, couples do not simply marry and live happily ever after, though we all wish that to be the case. Relationships evolve naturally, most passing from a state of euphoria to uncomfortable tension over the course of time. Influenced by life transitions such as childbirth, career achievement, retirement and ageing, each stage presents special challenges which threaten to undermine the union. But the biggest problem with any relationship is the overriding expectation that the chosen one will fulfil all our needs, be everything we desire and help us to be a success in our lives.

Exchanging Ideas and Information

However, individual happiness and development are our responsibility and it is not long before the truth is out and disillusionment sets in. Award winning author, Darryl James, echoes this point. “Unfortunately, many people believe that a relationship is all about finding someone to give you what you want,” he said, “but a relationship is about an exchange of ideas and information; the exchanging of bits and pieces of each individual to form a sense of oneness.”

So what has happened to change relationships from certainty to uncertainty?

Apart from key factors like the sexual revolution, the advancement of women both in the workplace and in government, the increase in financial independence and changes in institutional policies etc., the universal common denominator in behaviour, and the catalyst for changes in attitude to relationships, are the expectations within them. What makes expectation such a significant force is the way it dictates your attitude toward your partner and determines your treatment of him, while making you impotent in controlling his expectation of you.

Expectations reflect desires. When you live by yourself, you can fulfil your expectations easily as fulfillment does not depend upon someone else. But in any relationship there is a mutual sharing of love and you cannot determine how your partner will share that love with you. Her/His expectation is always a mystery, yet it is the biggest decider of the direction the union will take. In living with a partner, you not only have two sets of expectations to take into account, you also have to contemplate how each of your partner’s reaction to those expectations will impact upon the relationship itself.

Fight Cardiovascular Problems With Vitamins And Over The Counter Products

Except pulmonary arteries, all Arteries bring oxygenated blood to the tissues and except pulmonary veins, all Veins bring deoxygenated blood back to the heart. Blood passes into the lungs where Oxygen is pickup and CO2 is expelled. The Blood then through the arteries into capillaries, which are the thinnest and most numerous of the blood vessels and these capillaries helps transport nutrients into the cells and picks up waist products for transport. Blood then flows into the veins and transports CO2 to the lungs. Without the cardiovascular system vital oxygen and nutrients would not be able to be delivered to the cells in your body you would cease to exist.

The most common life threatening problems of the Cardiovascular System are Arteriosclerosis and Strokes.

Arteriosclerosis is commonly referred to as a “hardening” or “furring” of the arteries. Arteriolosclerosis (hardening of small arteries, the arterioles) is the result of collagen deposition, but also muscle wall thickening and deposition of protein (”hyaline”).

The constant accumulation fatty substances called plaques on the arterial walls characterize arteriosclerosis. These complications are chronic, slowly progressing and cumulative. This plaque buildup is usually found in most major arteries of the human body. Arteriosclerosis typically begins in early adolescence but is rarely diagnosed until late in life usually due to a stroke or heart attack.

When a bubble (aneurysm) occurs in the walls of the blood vessels it can lead to a blowout of the blood vessel and subsequent damage of the organ being supplied and even death. When this happens in the brain it is call a Stroke.

Research has shown that lowering cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood will lower the chance of coronary arteriosclerosis. Non-pharmaceutical means are usually the first method of treatment, such as cessation of smoking and regular exercise.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with treating Cardiovascular such as Copper, Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Vitamin B, Ginkgo Plus and M.S.M.

There is strong evidence that trace mineral Copper is vital to the tensile strength of the coronary blood vessels.

Scientists have found that people who drink hard water, water rich in calcium and magnesium, stand less chance of developing cardiovascular disease that people who drink soft water.

Vitamin C is essential for defending the body against pollution and infection. It enhances the immune system and aids in growth and repair of bone and tissue. Vitamin C has show to reduce cholesterol levels and lowers high blood pressure.

Vitamin E supplies Oxygen to the heart and the other muscles in the body. Accelerates wound healing and aids in the functioning of the immune system.

Zinc is needed for healing and maintaining healthy tissues. Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein and are the vital components of skin, hair, muscle tissue, the body’s organs, blood cells, various enzymes and hormones. Zinc also has a profound influence on the body’s ability to resist disease.

Vitamin B taken together as B-Complex work as a team to perform vital biological processes, including energy production and efficient metabolic function.

Ginkgo Plus supplies a comprehensive range of important nutrients needed for the proper functioning of the vascular system and for improving blood circulation to the brain.

M.S.M maintains the development of the body’s protein by forming flexible disulfide bonds between certain amino acids and in maintaining the strength of connective tissue. This allows water and nutrients to flow freely into cells and allows toxins to flow freely out of the cells. M.S.M increases athletic stamina and helps eliminate muscle soreness. M.S.M is a natural supplement that is getting a lot of attention due to its role in tissue healing at the cellular level. It is a natural organic sulfur that comes from rain fall and is found naturally in the human body.

Why An Internet Business Is The Perfect Business

In the last few days, the rain has been terrible here in Singapore. Thankfully it has now stopped! At least for the time being…

I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to offline businesses. Indeed, when I turned on the news, reports of business dropping by up to 70% were reported.

With all the outside forces piloting what path a business owner’s profits go to, weather was the last thing these people needed.

The rain not only blocked out the sunlight, it blocked out money for these business shop owners!

Now, imagine if Singapore suffers another crisis, such as the SARS in 2003, or a terrorist attack. What would happen to these offline businesses? What would happen to many employee’s jobs? I don’t want to think about it!

This is why some people have migrated to the perfect business. And that is not just an online business. It is a whole business model and concept.

Some network marketers have called network marketing the perfect business. It is close to that. It creates residual income and leverages on the efforts of others, two powerful weapons of destruction.

But the one flaw is that it can take years to build a solid network marketing business. The rewards are outrageous, but it will take a long time.

Where does the Internet come into this? That’s right. Speed. Instant delivery.

No shipping when it comes to information products like digital products (ebooks, teleseminars, membership sites.) The possibilities are endless.

It does not require your presence.

It works 24 hours.

Who needs employees? (The main crippling costs of an offline business)

You are not affected by weather or local happenings like terrorist attacks or local outbreaks.

In fact, when more people are staying at home, that means more business is happening online.

Your ability to create new business after new business can be harnessed. The cost of starting an Internet business is so many times lower than offline business that it boggles the mind.

There has not been a better time to be profitable!

Is Teenage Bodybuilding A Good Idea

Bodybuilding can be a great activity for teenagers for many different reasons. Certainly developing your body can be great for your confidence no matter how old you are. Teenage bodybuilding can present some challenges and things to be cautious of as well. Let’s look at some of the pluses and minuses of bodybuilding for teenagers.

Let’s get this basic thing out of the way right up front. You should go get a physical from your doctor and get his view on the proper diet and exercise to start out with. Jumping into bodybuilding if you have not been active physically recently is not the way to get started.

From a growth standpoint teenagers bodies are not done growing until they are at least 15 years old. For others it could be several years before you are doing growing. So you always want to be cautious of paying attention to what your body is telling you.

Eating right is big part of bodybuilding for teenagers and all bodybuilders. As you begin to lift your body will require more calories. If you are a junk food eater you will need to stop that. Load up on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, red meat, fish, and more proteins in general. Drink a lot of water and always keep yourself hydrated.

When you start lifting hire a trainer. You need to learn to lift correctly to avoid injuring yourself. A trainer will help you develop the proper form and keep you realistic as well. Teenagers may think they are superman and go overboard when they really need to start lifting weight at a reasonable amount for their size and ability.

Let’s address supplements. First of all do not take steroids. You can result you want without putting your body in danger. Go for natural supplements like a good multivitamin, protein powders like hemp or whey, fatty acids and glutamine.

When you are training start out slow. This is another benefit of hiring a trainer. 3 times a week is plenty when you first start out. It is important that your body has time to recover between workouts. Also it is important that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Even more if you can get it.

Teenagers tend to stay up late and if you have school the next day you need to change your sleep habits. Your body will quickly adjust to what you ask it to do. If bodybuilding is important to you this is one change you must do.

Teenage bodybuilding requires you to do the same things as adult bodybuilding, but in greater moderation until your body is fully developed.

Cutting Costs - How to Save Money on Your Crafting Supplies

Crafting is a fun and rewarding hobby for many adults and children alike. However, if you are an avid crafter, then you probably already know just how pricey crafting supplies can be. You can sell your crafts at fairs and shows, or even online, in order to support your hobby, but if you’d rather not mix business with pleasure, there are a number of other ways you can save money on your crafting supplies as well.

Obviously, the best way to save money on crafting supplies is to visit your local craft store during a sale. When you shop at a store regularly, ask if they have newsletters or other mailings to alert you of upcoming sales and sign up. If you want to get the best products, you need to shop at a sale on the first day. Otherwise, the items you want might be gone. Hot times for sales are after holidays and seasons, but if you craft a lot, stock up for next year by buying seasonal items when they go on sale.

Another great way to save money is to buy in bulk. If there is a certain kind of craft that you love to do, you should buy lots of the same item at a time. When you buy in bulk, the store or manufacturer may be able to give you a discount. You can also ask what you have to do to qualify for wholesale prices. If you run a crafting business, you might be able to save in that way as well.

Shopping online is a great time for thrifty crafters. Here, you can buy directly from a manufacturer, so the prices are cheaper than at your local craft store. You can also take advantage of special online savings, as well as visit auction websites to bid on items for less expensive prices. Remember that whenever you buy something online, you’ll have to pay for shipping, but generally you can still save money this way.

Lastly, look for crafting supplies that don’t cost anything. There are great books and magazine articles that can help you find ideas for making crafts with recycled objects, like milk cartons, tissue boxes, and greeting cards. Crafting doesn’t have to be expensive to be fun! Use a little creativity, and you will find that crafting is a fairly cheap hobby, especially when compared to activities such as building models or working on cars.

Fight Canker Sores With Vitamins And Over The Counter Products

Canker sores are shallow, painful sores on the soft tissue or membranes of the mouth. They are usually red or may sometimes have a white coating over them. You might get them on the inside of your lips, the insides of your cheeks, the base of your gums or under your tongue. Canker sores are different from fever blisters, which usually are on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth.

According to the National Institute of Dental Health some Canker Sores may be caused by a bacterium. It is believed that anyone that has repeated outbreaks may be allergic to some substance in the bacterium’s make up. Canker sore suffers should avoid sugar, citrus fruits and spicy foods.

Canker sores are common, can occur at any age, but usually first appear when you are between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. Cold Sores are caused by a form of the herpes simplex virus and are very extremely contagious. Canker Sores can be painful but are not contagious. So you can’t spread canker sores by sharing food or kissing someone. Cold sores are almost always found on the lips and do not often spread to the soft tissues of the mouth. They usually pop up alone, but sometimes they show up in small clusters.

Anyone can get canker sores, but women people in their teens and 20s get them more often and it seem to run in families. The genes that families share make it more likely that siblings will develop the Canker Sores, too.

Canker sores may be triggered by stress, dietary deficiencies (folic acid and Vitamin B-12), food allergies, and menstrual periods. Twice as many women as men get Canker Sores. Unfortunately, doctors don’t know of anything that prevents canker sores from forming.

You should see your physician if your canker sores are large or last more than 2 weeks, have a fever or you feel sick, can not ear or drink.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with treating Canker sores such as Baking Soda, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Iron, L-cysteine, Zinc, M.S.N and Folic Acid.

Baking Soda used as a mouthwash it will help relieve canker sore pain.

Vitamin A is a protector vitamin and is necessary for maintaining healthy skin, bones, and teeth. It is also important for the proper development and health of the eyes.

All of the different Vitamin Bs taken together as B-Complex work together as a team to perform vital biological processes, such as energy production and efficient metabolic function.

Vitamin C is nature’s protective nutrient, essential for defending the body against pollution and infection and enhances the bodies’ immune system.

Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, the oxygen carrying substance in red blood cells. Iron is vital for the production of blood. It enhances the immune system. Iron also aids in growth and repair of both bone and tissue by helping the body produce collagen.

L-cysteine is another immune system stimulant but should always be taken in conjunction with Vitamin C to reduce the risk of developing stone formation in the kidneys and bladder.

M.S.M is a natural supplement that is getting a lot of attention due to its role in tissue healing at the cellular level. It is a natural organic sulfur that comes from rain fall and is found naturally in the human body.

Folic Acid is a member of the B-complex family. Folic Acid participates in coenzyme reaction that is needed for cell growth and new cell formation.

How To Build Up Muscle The Right Way

To build muscle you first have to get your mind to accept the fact that this is going to take a lot of work. You are going to have to create new habits on eating and exercise that you are not currently doing. In this article we will look at several tips on how to build muscle and do it the right way.

Building muscle should be fun. That means setting goals that are realistic and enjoy knowing the fact that the effort you are putting in is paying off. You want to take you time and work out correctly and not hurt your body doing it.

- You want to do exercises that are different for all of your muscles. Use the correct technique that will allow you to develop muscles throughout your body.

- Be consistent and work out on a regular basis. Getting all excited at first and overdoing it is not the correct way to build muscle. Nor is it good to work hard for one week and then take 2 weeks off. If you are lifting weights you want to increase on a slow but consistent schedule.

- Working out to build muscles and then continuing to eat the wrong foods will not work. This will probably mean changing your diet. Remember this basic fact: you have to eat one gram of protein per pound of your body weight everyday.

- To build muscle many people to turn to supplements when they can not get the protein they need from what they eat. Use the internet or health stores to get more information on the proper use of supplements.

- Are you getting enough sleep everyday? Most people do not get enough sleep and this can become a problem when you start working out. It is easy to let your system get run down which can lead to injuries or sickness. Are you getting 8 hours of sleep a night?

This is hard for people to do so consider taking a power nap of 30 minutes everyday. You will be surprised at how this refreshes you and leaves you ready to work out again that day.

As you can see to build muscle you have to look at the big picture. It is more than lifting weights. You need to eat and sleep right and have a program to consistently work out to see muscle gains over a period of time. And be sure and have fun too!

Cholesterol - Friend and Foe

Cholesterol is both friend and foe. While we cannot live with out it, in extreme amounts it can kill us. The blood cholesterol level is the single most important factor in shaping a person’s risk for heart disease. It does it by plugging up vital heart-nourishing arteries through the process called atherosclerosis.

Most heart attacks are linked to plaques, which are made up mostly of cholesterol and fat. Plaques are like patches. They are the body’s response to damaged areas in arterial walls which are caused by free radicals, especially those found in oxidized cholesterol. The body responds to the nuisance by adding more and more “patches” to protect the area, causing the plaque to slowly expand. But in doing so it also slows the blood flow and may ultimately block the artery entirely.

When blood cholesterol levels are under 150 mg, early arterial damage usually heals quickly and the scars get smaller. But when cholesterol levels edge past 180, LDL-cholesterol begins to fasten itself to the vessel walls, causing atherosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries, and plaque formation).

Although cholesterol can be a problem it is also an essential for us to survive, but we do not have to eat it. The liver manufactures all the cholesterol the body needs. But most of us eat an additional 300 milligrams of cholesterol a day. It’s this extra dietary cholesterol that causes a sizeable part of the problem.

Cholesterol never travels alone — in the blood it has different carriers. The heaviest carrier is HDL (high-density lipoprotein), known as the “good” cholesterol. HDL is protective because it removes cholesterol from arteries and takes it to the liver, where it is made into bile. The higher the HDL in the blood, the better the protection. Men with HDL over 75 mg are protected from heart attacks.

A simple way to calculate heart attack risk is to divide the total cholesterol by the HDL. Preferably it should be under 4.0. A lighter carrier, the LDL (low-density lipoprotein), is the “bad” one. LDL basically determines the rate at which cholesterol is deposited on artery walls. To be safe, LDL should be under 90 mg.

While there are other carriers, LDL and HDL are the two most important ones.

Even though the foe can kill us in excess, the friend is very important in the manufacturing and preservation of cell membranes. It regulates membrane flexibility over a wider variety of temperatures. Cholesterol also aids in the manufacture of bile (which stored in the gallbladder to help with the digestion of fats), and is also important for the metabolism of vitamins, including vitamins A, D, E and K. It is a major forerunner for the fusion of vitamin D and of the various hormones (which include estrogens, and testosterone).

Fight Cancer With Vitamins And Over The Counter Products

No word in the English language invokes such fear and dread as the word Cancer. When the control system that governs a cell’s reproduction is damaged Cancer may be the result. It is the job of the immune system to detect and then kill them.

A mutation of the cell is the first step in the development of a tumor cell and is usually a small change in the DNA, which leads to a genetic instability of the cell. During Mitosis (cell division) the cell mutation is passed on to the daughter cells. Cancer cells continue to multiply in an unregulated manner. A single cancer cell is invisible to the naked eye but can continue to divide until a tumor is formed. Cancer is, ultimately, a disease of genes.

Tumors develop when uncontrolled cell division occurs and then spreads by direct growth into adjacent tissue through invasion, or by implantation into distant sites by metastasis (where cancer cells are transported through the bloodstream or lymphatic system).

Among the distinguishing traits of tumors is a large number of dividing cells, variation in nuclear size and shape, variation in cell size and shape, loss of specialized cell features, loss of normal tissue organization, and a poorly defined tumor boundary.

Although advanced cancer may cause pain, it is often not the first symptom. A cancer may be suspected for a variety of reasons, but the definitive diagnosis of most malignancies must be confirmed by histological examination of the cancerous cells by a pathologist.

Because “cancer” refers to a class of diseases, it is unlikely that there will ever be a single “cure for cancer” any more than there will be a single treatment for all infectious diseases.

Benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body or invade other tissues, and they are rarely a threat to life unless they affect some other vital structures of the human body.

Cancer can be treated by surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy or other methods. Although radiation damages both cancer cells and normal cells, most normal cells can recover from the effects of radiation and function properly. Studies have shown that high body temperatures can affect and often kill cancer cells. Perhaps taking aspirin to reduces the body temperatures at the first sign if an illness is not the wises course of action. More studies in this area are needed.

Based on epidemiological evidence, it is now thought that avoiding excessive alcohol consumption, being physically active, and maintaining recommended body weight may all contribute to reductions in risk of certain cancers. Most cancers are thought to be linked to known lifestyle factors.

We can greatly improve the effectiveness of our immune system to detect and then destroy these cancerous cells by taking the right nutrients. The correct nutrients can both reduce our chances of getting cancer and improve our chances of recovery if we have already contracted it.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with treating Cancer such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, Soy Isoflavones, Calcium,
Flaxseed Oil, Green Tea Extract and M.S.M.

Vitamin A is an important immune system stimulant. DR. Nauss reported a reduced T-cell immune response in patients with a Vitamin A deficiency. Vitamin A deficiency may increase the risk of cancers of the lung, larynx, bladder, esophagus, stomach, colon, rectum and prostate. Vitamin A is stored in the liver and fat cells of the human body and can reach toxic levels. DO NOT take more than the recommended dosage of Vitamin A.

Vitamin C reduces the risk of cervical dysphasia, a precancerous condition. It is essential for defending the body against pollution and infection and enhances the immune system.

Vitamin E may have a role in reducing the risk of lung cancer, according to researchers at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. It supplies oxygen to the heart and other muscles of the body and aids in the functioning of the immune system.

Areas with low Selenium in the soil and water have more deaths from cancers of the esophagus, stomach and rectum.

Selenium is a powerful antioxidant and inhibitor of cancer initiation and development.

Studies also suggest that Soy Isoflavones can help protect against cancer as well as heart disease.

In 1985 Dr. Shekelle and his co- workers reported a strong link between ample calcium intake and low risk of developing colon cancer.

Green tea extract contains natural antioxidant compounds know as polyphenols useful in fighting tumors as well as helping prevent and treat rheumatoid arthritis.

M.S.M is a natural supplement that is getting a lot of attention due to its role in tissue healing at the cellular level. It is a natural organic sulfur that comes from rain fall and is found naturally in the human body.
