Home Stagers and Redesigners - Show Your Stuff By Giving A Class

For some, giving classes may seem counterintuitive. Why would you tell people what you know so that they can go do it themselves without your help? The answer is this:

1. By teaching, you are positioning yourself as an expert.

2. Those that take what you taught them and do it on their own were never going to be your clients anyway, so do not sweat it.

3. You have just shown a group what you can do and you have made it look easy. However, many will realize, right there on the spot, that it will not be easy for them! Therefore, they look to you and become your ardent customer.

4. Those people in your class may not take you up on your staging, but will be impressed with your professionalism and pass your name along. As you know, word of mouth is the best form of advertising.
This is a great way to get your name out there, but you may be asking where you should go to get a class.

As a home stager or redesigner, your knowledge is based on your interior decorating skills. Therefore, think of those places that are design oriented. For instance, a paint and wallpaper store, or a furniture store. Consider giving short classes (10 minutes or so) at open houses or sales days. For longer classes, consider women’s groups or garden clubs.

No matter what venue you choose, you will find that classes give you the professional image you are seeking as well as the exposure to potential clients.

Ebook Creation - Steps to Consider

Creating your own ebook will require you to include Title, Chapters, and Pages. Of course when you complete these tasks, you will also have to include your Table of Contents page.

Let’s suppose you are going to write a ten chapter book. You might want to consider something in the neighborhood of 40-60 pages. The reason for this is twofold. 1) You don’t want to get carried away with length in your first endeavor. 2) You might want to consider giving this book away so it’s not necessary to write “War and Peace.”

Though you’ll want to keep the quality high, you might want to keep the quantity at a minumim. Just give them a taste of what they’ll get in future ebooks. Remember you are providing information. People are more interested in learning something useful, rather then the length of your book.

You will of course have to create a niche. Let’s use this title for example.

“How To Create and Maintain Your Lawn.”

This can be your main title. You will then want to build on this with further examples of chapter subtitles as follows:

  • How to Choose the Right Tools?

  • Choosing the Best Topsoil.

  • What is the Right Grass Seed?

  • How Often Should I Water?

If you know your niche well you should have no trouble thinking of related topics to your main headline for ten chapters.

The next step is to write your pages. If you have ten sub topics for your main headline you might want to write an average of five pages for each topic. Some pages may have more, some less. Try to make your pages as clear to your reader as possible. Keep in mind, your reader is not looking to solve the Rubic Cube puzzle. Make it useful and keep it simple.

As previously mentioned, you will want to add a Table of Contents page, as well as a Header and Footer page.

Connections Between Health & Wealth

Now thats a delicious combo! So, how do you get healthy and become wealthy at the same time?

Here is a bit of history for you; During the 90’s there was a crazy and unpredictable surge of both good as well as bad home or “networking” businesses if you will. Some did extremely well, others crashed in burning flames along with those involved in them and others simply continue to struggle.

As a result of those that crashed & because they were based on bad business ideas or dishonesty or some freakish pyramid scheme…etc. people would have a monster anaphylactic REACTION anytime the word “home business” is mentioned.

Those who have scammed millions and gotten away with it have ruined the opportunity for others who have a passion and delicate taste for an ethical business that is designed for the sole purpose of individual growth and success.

It’s sad but true…

Still, there are MANY safe and reputable home business for those of you who see themselves as entrepreneurs. Simply everyone and anyone who is anything but EUPHORICALLY ECSTATIC about their current job seriously needs to take a time out and THINK about what I am about to explain.

You need to know how to pick the good opportunities from the rotten ones. In home based businesses you need to look for the following:

1) A long viable and successful company history.

2) Those that do not offer easy cash or data job entry positions (DO NOT FALL FOR GET RICH QUICK SCAMS!).

3) Companies that offer “healthy” products

4) Companies that give and allow you a chance to grow with your business.

5) Look for a company that has had a steep incline curve over the past 10-15
years that has yet to peek!

For those of you who dream of not waking up each morning to the sound of that hateful alarm clock, barely being able to drag your behind out of bed and thinking of calling in sick 100000 times before you actually physically get your self into work only to be there by body while your mind wonders off to La La land.

Try this…

Allow yourself the thought of something new, open those NEW HORIZON doors and windows up. Consider getting involved or even starting up your own business. If you are smart, you CAN & WILL find your way to financial as well as physical & personal well being. Many opportunities are out there we just never allow ourselves to think outside the box. A health and wellness business, for example, will allow you to practice and live a healthier lifestyle as ETHICALLY you need to apply your products first before you endorse them onto others. Wealth is sure to come as we all respond differently when WE are OUR OWN BOSS. Your brain will find its way back from La La land and you will be whole again.

Having said all that, you are surely not confined to a health and wellness business, as I said there are many opportunities out there. I simply chose that one because By doing my homework I know we are entering an era of massive migration into what already has become a million dollar industry.

If you take into consideration the above points and apply them SUCCESS is your new path.

Why Traditional Colleges Will Continue To Survive and Thrive

With online education continuing to explode, some people feel the days of traditional colleges are numbered. One online educator even said that traditional colleges are becoming a place vagabond youths go to congregate.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Below are the reasons I think traditional colleges will continue to survive, thrive, and play big roles in society.

1. Going away to college is like a rite of passage. There is nothing like that feeling of an 18 year old moving away from mom and dad for the first time. It connotes freedom. It is Freedom from being told what to do all the time. Why traditional colleges are more expensive than distance learning colleges, I would not have given up the chance at this freedom for a million dollars.

As a parent, I cannot fathom not letting my children have this same freedom and experience. It is an experience I so much enjoyed. It is only natural that I would want this freedom and experience for my beloved children.

2. Traditional colleges offer social networking that online education cannot. It is said it’s not often what you learn in college that matters, it is who you sit next to in class. Some of the people you sit next to in class will become lifelong friends and business associates.

This became more evident to me during the 2007 NCAA Basketball Championship. If you are a college basketball fan, you know the University of Florida won back to back college basketball championship in 2006 and 2007. This was made possible by a group of young men (Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Al Horford and Joakim Noah) who became teammates and roommates.

These young men while at the University of Florida became special friends. Through this friendship, they bonded together and agreed to try to achieve something that was only done once (win back to back NCAA College Basketball Championship) since 1973. The other school that did it since 1973 is Duke University. Needless to say, they achieved this goal and will forever go down in the history of college basketball together.

Can online education provide such enabling environment?

I think NOT!

3. Traditional colleges have become icons in the communities they are located in. Some of these communities have come to love and identify with their schools.

Take Gainesville, Florida for example. Can you imagine the city of Gainesville, Florida without the University of Florida? The city of Gainesville will suffer untold economic and social hardships without the students of University of Florida.

4. Old habits die hard. There are still people who believe in the traditional way of learning. These people feel being on campus is the best way to learn. They will continue to support and go to traditional schools to do their learning.

5. There are majors that are not amenable to online learning. Until online schools figure out how to do things like chemistry or physics labs online, these type of majors will continue to be the forte of traditional colleges. Sometimes learning just involves getting your hands dirty.

While not exhaustive by any means, these are some of the reasons traditional colleges will continue to survive now and in the future. It is indeed too early to hold their obituary. In fact, such an obituary may never come in our lifetime.

Prospecting Your Warm Market in Network Marketing

Let’s talk about the most famous and controversial subject in network marketing prospecting: ‘Talking to your warm market (friends and family) about your network marketing business.’

Isn’t it funny that one of the first things you usually hear when you join a network marketing company is, “You will need to make up a list of 100 contacts to get your business started.”

Have you ever thought, “Why do I have to hit on my friends and family members to build a network marketing business?” If you confront your sponsor about it, you will usually hear something like this, “Well, the products we have are so great, so why would you not share them with the ones you care about?” And: “You don’t want them to miss out on this incredible financial opportunity, do you?” Or: “All we are doing is ‘sharing’ products and the opportunity.”

Sound familiar?

Well, if you just saw a great movie or ate at a fantastic restaurant, sharing would be a natural thing to do with those you care about. However, when you have a financial interest in something you recommend, the ballgame changes, and people know it. It loses it’s power and effectiveness the moment your friends realize that you are not really sharing because you care, but because you are now a rep for xyz company, and all the sudden you are just so excited about their products. Put yourself in your prospects shoes, and really think about this.

Now, I know you could really be excited about the products or the comp plan, but why is it that people seem to ONLY be excited about their new company’s product and no other products? There are many network marketing companies out there that have great products and services that assist in all sorts of areas. Why would you just recommend the products your particular company produces? And, why do you do it only AFTER you have signed up as a rep for that company, in most cases?

The answer is, you have a financial interest in getting people on the products or opportunity.
How does that look when you are out there suddenly approaching your warm market with only one particular line of products that you yourself make commission off of?

I understand that most people don’t really think of it this way, and really do want to let others know about the products and such; but think about how it looks to your friend, family member, or coworker. They now see you as “the typical network marketer who gangs up on people he knows for his own financial interest.” Even though you believe you are truly helping others, the manner in which it is done looks horribly backwards in the eyes of your so-called prospect.

Let’s stop this example and pick up another one:

Ok, let’s say that instead of making up your 100 person list and working your warm market, that you instead don’t really mention anything to the people you know.

So, you say, how will you then market the business and get people involved?

Simply by building your business using true EFFECTIVE marketing and common business sense. Instead of chasing down prospects and trying to convince them of how great your product or opportunity is, you just market to your target audience and attract people to you.

There are some that consider prospects as anyone with skin and hair (hair optional!).

That’s not true at all. Those people are SUSPECTS, and are not true PROSPECTS until they have responded to your offer and contacted YOU.

Back to our second example: So, instead of spending your time bugging your warm market, you become educated on real marketing and begin to attract people to you and generate your own high quality leads. You don’t have to worry about your ‘Why’ being big enough because you are getting results from day one and are already motivated by your own effective action.

You begin to then build a solid business attracting your true target market and achieving greater success each month in a predictable fashion. Now, as a result, your warm market now begins to come to YOU to find out what you are doing! Plus, they now see you as a true expert in your field, as opposed to their ‘crazy mlm friend’.

Why not do it this way from the beginning?

The main reason people do not take advantage of this above proven example, is simply the lack of knowledge or education on effective marketing and sales. Most of the ways people build their mlm business are based on hope and chance. They are mostly ideas that may work some of the time, but are not true business fundamentals that can be tracked each and every time.

The true ‘heavy hitters’ of the industry build their network marketing businesses totally different than the masses do. That is why most people fail; because they follow the masses and get the same old results. All the big leaders I know, ‘think outside of the box’ and become independent experts in their chosen field, while everyone else just follows the advice of everyone else and becomes a ‘follower of the followers’. That’s where that ‘cult mentality’ comes from and people begin to live inside ‘the land of xyz company’.

It’s not about your ‘why’ or your presentation or your desire to go up to a total stranger at the mall and foam at the mouth about your opportunity or your products.

It’s about educating yourself on how to achieve your desired results in an effective and leveraged way, and being willing to question the effectiveness of everything you do and think for yourself.

Success in network marketing is not a huge mystery. It is just a matter of correct education, proper skills and effective action.

Remember, the more EDUCATED you become the more EFFECTIVE you can be!

Could You Be The One To Save The World

Can you fly faster than a speeding bullet? Can you run faster than a train? No! Nor can I, but we all have the ability to save the world. The recent report on global warming from American scientists claims that the polar ice caps are going to melt, which will have catastrosphic effects on our beautiful planet. The drowts will become continuous in many third world countries and rising sea levels will plunge millions of square miles of land mass across the world under water. The New Orleans disaster could become a permanent reality with the powers of the world unable to control the water mass that will come when the ice caps do eventually melt.

Years of manufacture have thrown tons of polutents into the atmosphere over several hundred years and our use of carbon generating fossil fuels has caused almost irreparable damage to our planet. The British Government has vowed to make Britain carbon neutral within the next ten to fifteen years with better house insulation and better building techniques. A reduction in the automobiles and people flying by introducing ever more taxes on these now everyday accepted essentials. So if we all take less flights and stop using our automobiles will this change the fact that the polar ice caps are melting.

The simple answer is yes, but do we really want to give up on flying to exotic or far away holiday destinations or the convenience of having our vehicles available when we want to use them. No! I thought not, so what can we do? How about changing the way we cook our food. Something we all have to do every day is to eat and at some point during the day we eat a meal that has been cooked using a conventional oven. The simple fact is that if you use a microwave oven instead it will use about twenty percent of the power that a conventional oven will use. There are now thousands of books available to you use your microwave ovens and get the best use from your microwave.

Like conventional ovens you have to learn how to use these devices to get the most out of them. It is an unfortunate belief that if you can cook you can use a microwave oven, unfortunately until you take the time to get beyond re-heating products in your microwave it will just be another under used kitchen appliance. A great site to visit for microwave ovens and products to help you use your microwave ovens better is www.everythingmicrowaves.com take a look and and make you self a true super hero and be part of the generation that protects the future.

Microsoft Dynamics GP (Former Microsoft Great Plains) Support in Chicago Metro

Microsoft Great Plains was and is very popular mid-market ERP application, originally designed by Great Plains Software on GPS Dexterity platform, later on purchased by Microsoft and transformed into Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions, later on (after Navision Software acquisition) renamed into Microsoft Business Solutions and in September 2005, again renamed into Microsoft Dynamics. Microsoft Great Plains is part of Microsoft Dynamics family together with Navision, Axapta, Solomon and Microsoft CRM – each product was renamed as Microsoft Dynamics GP, NAV, SL, AX and CRM respectively. Currently Microsoft is advancing rapidly Microsoft Dynamics project, resulting in Microsoft Dynamics MRP family of products to be integrated with Microsoft Office, MS Sharepoint, Microsoft Business Portal (each Dynamics has its own blend of BP), plus each Dynamics product is targeted to be opened to Microsoft Visual Studio developers via SDK and other tools, such as eConnect, in the case of Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics GP. Below we would like to give you highlights on Microsoft Dynamics GP

• Version 10.0. It should be released as you read these lines. Former version is Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0. In 9.0 Microsoft Dexterity is deemphasized, while such tools as eConnect and MS Dynamics GP SDK allows C# or VB.Net software developer to program customizations for GP

• Business Portal. We would like to concentrate here on Order management module – replacement for former eOrder for Microsoft Great Plains. Order Management is module, integrated into Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Portal, and so is Microsoft .Net application. It also allows you to call Microsoft terminal services client to open Microsoft Dynamics GP dex fat client to enter transactions, when corresponding BP portion needs additions in GP

• Chicago businesses. It is definitely diversified place, however we would like to concentrate on typical mid-size businesses. Distribution and logistics – Such GP modules as Inventory control and Sales Order Processing are subject to light (or heavy) customization to automate D&L business logic. Placement agencies – these companies typically deal with US Payroll module, where they need additional features, in some cases BP employee self service should give you customization platform. Light manufacturing and assembly – Great Plains has decent discrete manufacturing and bill of materials modules, so, please take a look at their functionality to see if it fits your company.

Asset Management As A Tool In Beating The Odds

Asset Management seems like some arcane science practiced by brilliant experts at first glance. Although the expertise of most money managers may be outstanding, the techniques of asset management are available to any investor. The whole idea behind asset management is to create some kind of stability in an investment portfolio that can protect the investor, to a certain degree, from market volatility. Market volatility is only a problem because, try as we may, we humans cannot predict the future. Any investment software or tracking method can only offer approximations of what the market might do in the future.

One of the key concepts of asset management is diversification. Diversification between types of investments, such as stocks and bonds, as well as diversification across a number of industries and countries can offer a buffer against volatility in any one investment, industry or country.

For the individual investor, this aspect of asset management can cause some confusion. The first question that comes to mind is; How much diversification is enough to offer protection against volatility? There is no easy answer to that question. The individual investor realizes that they don’t have billions of dollars to work with like the mutual funds do. As a result, the investor has to limit their purchases.

The best approach is to educate yourself about the risks and rewards of each investment and sector. The next step is to select a basket of investments that are best suited to your risk tolerance as well as your investment goals. Also realize that as your portfolio grows, you can diversify more. Remember that the aim is to select good quality investments, but also to protect your capital as well.

Diversification within a sector can also offer protection against volatility. For example, in the consumer sector, investing in a supermarket chain that sells to basic consumer needs could be complimented by investment in a more diversified, higher end supermarket chain that situates itself in upscale neighborhoods. In this case, one would expect the high-end company to have higher profits, but in an economic slowdown, the basic supermarket chain might see less of a contraction. If possible, viewing data about how one performed in comparison to the other during past economic contractions may give a hint of future possibilities.

The speculative view of investing, whereby an individual hopes to make a large amount of money quickly, tends to be at odds with the diversification model of investing and asset management. There are two reasons for this; the first is that speculative investing is high risk, where as the diversified approach tries to limit risk and secondly, the concept of asset management aims at protecting capital, thereby ensuring survival and long term profits. One of the predictable outcomes for many speculative investors is to run out of capital and be forced out of the market.

There are three components to a realistic goal in investing; the first is a accurate idea of what can be earned through a particular kind of investment; the second is to know what you want to earn through investing; and the third is to decide when you will abandon an investment that is falling in value. All three of these issues call for some study and thought. It’s easy to make an unrealistic judgment in this area. Once again this is where careful asset management can help you. If you are diversified, a mistake on a single investment won’t be as devastating as it would be where there is only one investment.

The whole idea behind asset management is to give the investor the best possible chance of survival, which in turn will offer the best odds of ultimately succeeding in achieving their investment goals. Nobody can predict what the markets will actually do, but if you have a system that will protect your capital and keep you in the game longer, your odds of winning will improve.

Combining The Benefits Of Prescription And Over-The-Counter Weight Loss Pills

The every new weight loss brand appearing on the market today seems to divide people into two sections: those who is ready to try it immediately and those who thinks, “oh no, not another pills, ‘cause they are all useless”. This year has seen the appearing of over-the-counter weight loss pills with strong scientific evidences and official approvals. And these weight loss pills appeared to mix the best sides of well-known types of prescription drugs and weight loss supplements.

This article will show what exactly those benefits are, and what are the most promising weight loss solutions on the market today.

The most widespread type of diet pills are fat burners. There are actually so much brands available online that even sophisticated expert can get into a fuddle, not saying of a poor customer. But the truth behind major part of them is – they are using potentially dangerous components like ephedra or “ma-huang”. Well, fat burners can really give you pretty fast weight loss – but not lasting. As you stop taking them, say “hi again” to your excess weight. Fat burners are most popular among people who looking for immediate or “magic” results, and rely only upon those “magic” fat burning properties. Fat burners are not the best solution for long-term weight loss.

Another type of diet pills are appetite suppressants – the most popular type in both prescription drugs and over-the-counter herbal supplements. There are lots of evidences on weight loss forums that appetite suppressants really help reduce calorie intake. The only problem for appetite suppressants – prescription ones are approved to use, but have many side effects and restrictions. Supplements are based on well-known hoodia, and there’s no guarantee that you buy exactly original hoodia gordonii or just wasting your money for hype. As you can see, all those are only partial benefits of diet pills, but the situation seems to be changing now for better.

There’s another great type of weight loss diet pills that has success evidence – fat blocker or binder pills. Xenical (Orlistat) is a perfect example of fat blocking pills – it’s one of the most popular and known weight loss pills in the world. But we know, Xenical is a prescription only drug and has many side effects and restrictions of use, like Alli, the upcoming over-the-counter analog of Orlistat. Yet fat blockers give steady weight loss and are very suitable for long term weight loss plans.

The most beneficial in this way is Proactol fat binder, which combines the benefits never available before. First, it’s a fat binder using scientifically researched active ingredient with clinically proven fat blocking and appetite suppression capacities. It can be used in the long term as it’s safe and natural. Proactol is available without prescription, but it’s officially approved, and can be sold in drugstores.

As we can see, the partial benefits of numerous weight loss pills are replaced by the new credible solutions that combine safe action of natural active ingredients available without prescription, yet those ingredients are scientifically approved to carry out their intended purpose. Probably there will never be magic weight loss pills, but the credible weight loss pills are the necessary part of the magic that is possible by our own efforts.

Anthony Voronoff is expert that is making explicit reviews and comparisons of the best weight loss pills online. His site gives you valuable advices how to separate credible weight loss pills from possible hype and how to invest not in just diet pills but in complete weight loss programs leading to success. Spindle Wheels – You Mean There Is More Than One Type of Spinning Wheel?

So, you are going out to buy a spinning wheel! You walk into a store and you are asked, “What type of spinning wheel are you looking to purchase?” You immediately think, “You mean there is more than one type of spinning wheel?” Actually there are two types of spinning wheels, one is called the spindle wheel and the other is considered a flyer (yes, this is the correct spelling) and bobbin type of wheel. Both of these have definite distinctions. This article is going to talk about Spindle wheels, what they are and what type of fiber is best suited for them.

Spindle wheels are the same thing as a Great Wheel also known as the Walking Wheel or Wool Wheel. The spindle wheel is one of the first known spinning wheels, and is usually the ones we think about when we are considering old world spinning. It was thought that this type of wheel was fashioned after the spindle or drop spindle. This type of spinning wheel is characterized by the very large wheel at the back. This large wheel is turned by hand or by a crank while standing up. It has a drive belt, actually a string that goes around the wheel at the back to a grove that drives the spindle in the front. The spindle does not have any hook on it or any guides to guide the fiber onto the spindle. The spindle tapers at the point so getting the fiber onto the spindle depends upon how you hold the fiber when spinning. Great Wheels, Walking Wheels or Wool Wheels were primarily used to spin wool.

The Indian Charkha is also a spindle wheel. This type of wheel is the one that you saw Mahatma Ghandi using in the pictures shown in your World History class. Mahatma Ghandi liked this type of spindle wheel as it was small and portable and could be transported and used while spinning in public. The Charka is usually used while sitting down. There are many different styles of Charkhas, but on all of them the wheel at the back of the Charka is proportionately larger than the front wheel. It too has a spindle on which the fiber is spun. The Indian Charkha is used to spin very fine, short fibers like silk, cotton, angora and soy silk.

As you might expect, the spinning ratio or the number of times the spindle moves to the number of times the larger wheel moves can be more than 80:1. Whether you use the Great Wheel or the Indian Charka you will need to spend much time practicing to get a consistent thread. You must keep the larger wheel moving while at the same time drawing or pulling the fiber into the desired thickness of yarn.

Great Wheels, Walking Wheels or Wool Wheels are still made today; however, you will usually find an individual making these wheels one by one instead of a large company making them in mass supply. These individuals have a true love of woodworking and probably also enjoy spinning or have someone in their family that enjoys spinning. The Great Wheels today can cost more than $1,000.00.

The Indian Charka, especially the Indian Book Charka and the Accelerated Charka are easily acquired from companies. A few individuals make Book Charka’s and these individuals can sometimes be found in spinning magazines. Most Charka’s will range in price between $125.00 and $500.00.

Although I do have a Book Charka and do use it from time to time, my dream has always been to buy a Great Wheel. If you have the opportunity to buy one of the Spindle Wheels and really want to learn how to use them you will have a good investment for years to come. If you choose to buy a new Great Wheel, honestly, I’ll probably be quite envious of you! Good Luck and continue spinning!

Leslie Arnold has been spinning for about 25 years. She is now writing articles about crafts and related topics.
