Is your goal to make money on eBay? If so then the market niche that you select is one of the most important decisions that you will make. That niche needs to be focused and specific. It needs to be big enough that there are enough buyers to allow you to make money on eBay.
So how does a new seller handle this balancing act? How do you get down to a small and specialized niche while remaining big enough to generate enough sales? How do you identify a niche that will allow you to make money on eBay?
One way to determine a specific market niche is to think of the search as being like a funnel. The funnel is largest at the top. In fact, if you were to attempt to use a real funnel that was as large at its smallest point as at the top, it would be of very little use. The funnel needs to taper down to a smaller size to be of use to you. The same is true when identifying a niche where you can make money on eBay.
Find a market that is of interest to you. It might be a hobby or a special interest. From there work down to a specialized market niche. It is just as if you were in a funnel. Once you work down to a small more specific niche it is important to test to make sure that you have found the niche that will make money on eBay for you.
Be sure that the buyers in your niche are ready, willing and able to spend money. The best niche has many of these buyers who have a problem that your product solves. Once you find that combination you are on your way to make money on eBay.
